You're a Cave Hydra, big and mighty. And you're proposed an interesting suggestion by a Steppe Wolf called Vulpes and his gang of bipeds and other of his kin.

You've decided to leave your group of adventures once they told you that they will lead you to the Beast Guild to get you an owner. This morning you decided to adventure on your own further, not returning or finding a new home. Eventually you stumbled upon a massive blob of bipeds and some other ferals marching. Following them from the intensely steep grassy hill, you were eventually found out and approached by the aforementioned Vulpes and four other wolves, all carrying bipeds on their backs.

"So, what will it be, Cave Hydra?" Says the pup that thought he could force his own will onto yours, nevertheless, his suggestion is quite interesting. He told you to join his army to fight against what he calls 'Erazmo States'.

Hello there.

Honestly getting involved in some human on human warfare sounds too morally grey for our Hydradin. We should go find a lich or demon to fuck up.

"Tell me what I would be doing within the Federation Army of the Erago City States and why it would be beneficial for me other than killing my boredom." You reply. So far you fail to see anything beneficial for you in this.

He remains silent for a while, as if surprised by your question. He seems to be in a thought for few moments before perking up, coming up with an answer to your ask.

"You will be fed all the time without having to beg or find food. It will be always tasty and good as well." He replies, you spot that Vulpes took a quick peek at your wagon filled with meat that you drag behind you.

"And you won't have to worry about not having a good stretch, killing and eating those Erazmo scum is more than good exercise."

"I can follow this, but I fail to see why you are fighting them." You answer right back at Vulpes, this isn't something you could hate, but there are still some things you fail to understand about this. Mainly why and how.

"Territory, righteousness, I follow those I am loyal to as well." The Wolf replies, you must admit that he's really stubborn to keep being on the hill at such uncomfortable position. But you also guess that since he's smaller, it's much easier for him. Not to mention that the humans start to look confused right about now by your talk.

"And how will you tell your owners about me?"

"My master understands me well enough." Well. He replied the question, although it's a bit... Underwhelming from your point of view.

>"Good enough for me. I will join you."

You remain silent, not replying for a while, you try to 'chew' through the influx of information. Thinking about if you should really agree to this or not or if the benefits out-weight the risks. Eventually, you come to a conclusion.

"Before I agree. I must ask what exactly I will have to do. And how much food I will get. What about the shining metal, armor as they call it?"

You see Vulpes breathe in deeply, you guess that his patience has either ran out, or is about to. Nevertheless, he calms down and answers your questions.

"I will keep it simple and easy. The more you kill, the better you do. The better you do, the more food you get. You are rewarded for doing things and punished for not doing things. And with time you'll get armor of your own.

"Yes." You reply. This is sounding all proper to you, no reason to say no, and a lot of reasons to say yes. You missed the exercise of a hunt, but would never refuse free food. And the better you do, the better the reward, as usual with anything in life.

"I'll see if I get bored with it. If yes, I will leave."

Vulpes only gives you a sly smirk, as if he expected you to say exactly those words, and surprisingly, didn't take even a second to reply.

"I can promise you that you won't get bored with it, Horg, Harbenk, Hisk." And look at that, he also learned to use your given names. Soon after that, you see him bark a few times, looking up at the biped on top of him. He reacts slowly, confused by all of this. But eventually, after giving you a stare, he barks out a few words himself before everyone turns around and starts going to the blob of bipeds, and of course, you follow.

You've been welcomed with confused looks, something you're already used to. Following Vulpes, you eventually reach the place where you're supposed to be in, marching with the crowd. And so far, you're enjoying the looks of awe after the humans got accustomed to you.

"Who is this, Vulpes?" You hear behind you. A loud and deep female voice almost echoes in fact. Turning around, you spot the immense tusks almost poking your back. It's one of the mammoth's, she too is pulling some heavy things.

"A new comrade in arms, Ela." He says.

"I see he has provisions of his own." To which she responds, her trunk poking your wagon.

>"I won't let anyone touch me or my belongings. Unlike the Wolf and you, I have sense of decency to not be mounted." You won't be intimidated by the group.

"I won't let anyone touch me or my belongings. Unlike the Wolf and you, I have sense of decency to not be mounted." You reply. You're far from being dragged down by group pressure, you will set yourself as the Alpha here.

"He's hot blooded too, we will see how quickly he cools down." The Mammoth replies calmly, completely unfazed by your aggressiveness. In fact, she laughs after saying that and her trunk hovers over your heads as if trying to brush them. Calmly taking it away once you try to bite it.

"Why did you agree to this?" Your left head asks.

"Why not. It might be fun, we were promised a lot of food if we do good." Your right head replies, eventually pushing in another sentence.

"We might get thrice as much, because there's three of you, no?"

You don't care about that, what you care about is getting yourself a name in this blob so you don't have to bother with fighting over dominancy here. Speaking of, you suppose you should see the Alpha of this ragtag group of animals.

"Where are we headed and when will we get there?" You ask bluntly, not précising as to who you are asking this.

"We will reach one of Erazmo's cities at dawn. Then we will make a night attack. That's all I understand." Vulpes replies. Now, you're not a tactician, but it doesn't take you long to figure out that this is a pretty smart plan. If you get rest, which you should.

"When do I get food?" You ask another question.

"Whenever, you got your own, or is that for me?" The Mammoth replies, soon after you feel a tug on the wagon which makes you come to a sudden stop, almost making you trip in fact. As a reply, you growl, clearly bemused while she seems to get a great joy from this.

After a bit more of walking, you spot that some humans are getting particularly close to you, taking a better look at you. But before any of them truly gets close, they're cut off by another human. This time old and shriveled, with white hair going down to his chest, yet his eyes look sharp and alive. Equally alive as the Bulette he's sitting on that carries him around. And is taking a deep look at your wagon, all while the human takes a look at you, holding his U shaped stick close to his body.

They will have to try harder than that to agitate you. You are capable of holding back when it's necessary.

This actually helps you spot something quite interesting. Everyone is silent, both Vulpes and the Mammoth Ela. In fact, any feral or human around you, or the duo rather, is silent, dead, as if not wanting to make him mad. Something interesting must be about this old human if he's so venerated. Maybe he's the Alpha biped of them?

Nevertheless, he moves forward, towards your heads and once again stares at you with intense, yet disrespectful stare. After few moments, you are nearly spooked by him talking to you, in a language you can understand.

"Speak to me Cave Hydra. What's your name, got any even or do I have to name your heads?"

>Ignore him. See how he will like that for a change.

"I'm Horg, left me is Hisk and right me is Harbenk." You reply truthfully, looking back at the human with equally intense stare.

However, you are surprised, shocked even, when you hear him laugh and nearly fall off the Bulette that keeps poking its nose through the bars in your wagon. You have no idea what made him laugh this hard, but this is annoying to you, because you have to stop the conversation until he has regained his posture.

"Oh my gods... really? Who named you like that?" He says, rubbing his eyes and sighing, ever so often giggling yet again.

>"That doesn't matter, but it's time that you tell me who are you."

"I was named without consent. I've met a group of adventurers, one of them named me without my consent. then other me's wouldn't give me any rest, so I forced them to name other me's too."

You see him settle down on top of the Bulette, his giggles growing into huge laughs before wrapping his arm around his stomach and bending over, gasping for air before finally getting it out of his system. Then he stands up, supporting himself with the stick and looking back at you again. This time, without the disrespect, more like an actual sentient being, which you can finally deal and accept with. It's about time he saw you as an equal.

"Oh boy, ride and a half of a story. Welcome abroad, needy stubborn asshole!" He laughed again before tapping the Bulette, and before you can stomach the sudden surprise and revelation, they're off, far away from you.

Then you hear snickers of Ela and Vulpes that quickly grow louder.

No, you will not be agitated, you will hold your heads high and keep a straight posture. No matter what happens, you will stay proud. It's not like you asked to be named.

"I am perfectly aware from where those names came from." You hear Ela say behind you, laughing all while her trunk rubbed itself over your heads. But you refuse to cave in, you don't react and just bite your tongue to keep yourself calm.

Extreme amount of verbal pokes later, you spot the sun settling down over the horizon. The walk was really tiring, this time more mentally than physically. Although you had to, at some point, walk uphill and soon after, you entered a forest, which made navigation all that harder.

Now that you are settled down by your wagon, separately from anyone that would possibly bug you about your names, you get a time to spot the bipeds. Despite a break being called and everyone setting up their resting places, they're still working, preparing their weapons and armor shells all while eating. You fail to understand this, why would you take your time to work when you're supposed to rest?

Nevertheless, you are the center of attention again, and in fact, you spot two humans. Male and female, both without their head armor, slowly inching towards you, with care and respect as to not anger you.

>>
You shrug, not caring about them. They don't seem hostile, and from what you understand, as long as they wear red and black, they're on your side and won't hurt you. Or at least, shouldn't.

Munching down on food, you eye them with one eye, making sure that they don't get too close for your taste all while taking a closer look at them yourself. The female's hair is blond and short, exposing her forehead but hiding her sides. Blue and sharp, yet shy looking eyes constantly looking away whenever you make eye contact. That's all you can say about her due to the armor. The male looks big, although you've seen bigger, his hair black and very short, sticking upwards and a little bit behind with constantly angry eyes staring right at you.

You would guess that there's all to this and return to eating your meal, but before you can start munching, you spot another Steppe Wolf, nonchalantly coming over to you without seemingly caring about you. And once it comes closer, you spot why.

It's massive, bigger than Redclaw or Vulpes.

"So you're the Cave Hydra that was dragged to our cause by my son. I am not heavily impressed. I've seen bigger than you." She says. One eye bland, as if covered by foil with a massive scar over it. In fact, on any place that isn't thickly covered by fur, you spot immense amount of scars of varying severity.

You can only guess that this is the Alpha feral.

"I'm Sonya, I lead the beasts and I hope you aren't going to scamper off after seeing what this is about."

And you guessed right.
