You look out of a shattered window, over the crowded streets of the Capitol of Theon. Rioters chant below, calling for blood and death, unimpeded by the now dead or routed constabulary.

Behind you the rich and powerful murmur and fall to stress and panic. Those who were a moment ago looking at you with disgust and fear now seem to see you as an island in a tumultuous sea. Even as the body of Markus Bauman is dragged away by his feeble and terrified manservant, the party attendees seem to crowd you as if you expel an aura of power.

Sophia approaches you, holding hands tightly with Caela, followed by Shen and Legion.

"Goddesses save us." Caela looks out over the uproar with a hand over her mouth. "There were rumors, but I didn't know they might be organized." She turns to you with eyes glistening, beginning tears of pain. "Forgive me, my dark lord. I was too hopeful. Had I been more vigilant, more stern, this may not have happened l."

Caela seems to feel a bit better, but you don't have time to comfort her further. You ask Sophia and Caela what it is the citizens are riled over.

"They have never been content with the rule of the rich. Many a laborer and hand would rather be represented by their own kind, rather than those who can afford to buy a seat in office. Until now, it was mostly grumbling, but after you took over and slew the senate in it's entirety, the people have been inspired. They seek to overthrow the rich, and take the management of the land for themselves."

You sympathize with the people's plight, and in doing so decide to try and be civil with them before resorting to violence. You unlatch the window, and step out onto the windowsill while hanging on to the side of the building for balance. Several flaming bottles hit you, but you need only to brush the liquid within off to douse the flames, though your clothes are quite ruined.

You ask the people what is it they demand, and after a minute of rumbling, one of them steps up to act as vox populi.

"We want to decide for ourselves what our lives will be! We're tired of our input being limited by birth, or wealth, or social circle! We want to have a say!" This last bit is followed by roaring agreement. "And we want those fat cats to pay for keeping us down!"

"I'm from the town of Good Winds and I say kill them all!" This too is followed by an uproar. When you look back as the nobles gathered behind you, they give the same look as cattle being lead to the slaughterhouse. You turn back to the crowd below.

>"You are right to want free say in your own lives. But I will not tolerate violence."
>"I will take your desires into consideration. Now disband, or be mowed down."
>"These notions are foolish. I am the will of all people."

Nah. They are only the fat heads obtop, just like the last group of parliament we killed. The real adminstration are their advisors, magistrates etc.

(Stuff to think about
-there are lots of seasoned warriors among the guests, leading to bloodshed on both sides.

-We have to ensure Caela is not in the firing line. Emergency teleport, maybe?

Marigold is "one of the peasants". May be able to convince them, that The Dark Lord sees the interests of the common folk as well as those of the nobles, making what was said earlier something far far more then empty words.

You tell Caela and Sophia that staying will only endanger them, and that Shen and Legion will provide fair but firm punishment to any neer-do-wells in the night. They don't like it, but you are beyond talking it over, and prepare to depart after giving Legion and Shen instructions to only harm as necessary.

In that moment, as if rehearsed, the doors of the venue are broken down, and what looks to be near a hundred armed rioters begin entering the building, making a beeline for the nobles and guests trapped inside.

As the eager equalists engage the frightened nobles with club and dagger, you order your men to kill all those who would spill blood in your city. Shen dashes in without a moment's hesitation, introducing knuckles, knees, and elbows to the skull of many a bloodthirsty brute. Legion, without a sword, must improvise. He selects a pair of wine bottles, smashing them into the head of the nearest ruffian, turning them into brutal stabbing and slashing implements, which he uses quite effectively to eviscerate opponents as they come at him.

Caela, armed for a duel prior to these sudden events, fires arrow after arrow into the sea of people, penetrating their throats and hearts with pinpoint precision. Sophia is shocked to be thrown back into the thick of battle, but after a very brief period of uncertainty, she finds a broom stowed nearby, tucked away behind a pillar, and stomps the end to remove the bristled head and create a stabbing point. With each powerful thrust, the impales and completely penetrates her victim, sometimes catching two or three with one heavy and painful blow.

One man manages to reach you in the scuffle. He brandishes a knife, but you pay him no mind, reaching out and clutching his head in your hand, squeezing it until he releases a muffled scream into your palm.

You turn to the side, and as if tossing a rag into a laundry hamper, you gingerly toss him out the open window. You can hear him scream as he falls, and you think you might even hear the splat.

Turning back to the room, your advisors have dispatched the attackers, and the building is being secured by those still alive and well. You remind Shen and Legion to stay vigilant, and summon Caela and Sophia to your side. Several of the nobles beg to accompany you, but you shoo them away like flies, and teleport home.

When you arrive, Vanessa is there to greet you, shocked to see Sophia splashed with fresh blood.

You saunter down to the kitchen for a glass of milk, whistling merrily as you go. You walk through the archway, clapping your hands to engage the magicked lamps, and head straight for the cold pantry. A box made of insulated stone and lined with Ever Ice Gems, it keeps leftovers and perishables nice and chilly even in the hottest climates. You reach in and grab hold of the milk bottle, then retreat and bump the door closed with a sassy hip check.

When you move to the cupboard for a glass, you notice something odd. You turn to the side and see a shadow in the dark corner of the breakfast nook. You take a swig of your milk, savoring the sweet taste for a moment on your tongue before letting it flow down your gullet. Sophia nurses her glass and scoops another bit of cheesecake into her mouth.

"Caela is taking it kind of hard to be honest. She had heard about dissent, but she thought reassurance was the best way. Now she's questioning her ability to lead. I had to remind her that we aren't governors. We're generals. Soldiers aren't the same as civilians. When you're at war, you need to rely one your comrades morning noon and night. At home, it's every man for himself."

Either way, we will placate the people with cake and simple things, parks out of the 50% sequested noble lands, turn the palaces into various public buildings, simple stuff.

Sophia hums, talking another bite of her cheesecake. The two of you sit in relative silence for a while, until her plate is clean of crumbs and both glasses are empty save for the ring of liquid resting at the bottom. Sophia offers to bus the table, and carries the dishes to the sink to be washed later. Before heading to bed, she stops to wish you goodnight. You start to return the kindness, when you notice her eyes go a bit wide.

"Er, sorry, it's just that that robe almost makes it look like you're nude underneath, and it surprised me." She giggles, raising a hand to her forehead and trying to avert her eyes.

Sophia stumbles, unsure of how to take this. You can almost see smoke billowing from her ears as she tries to assess the situation. You cross your legs sensually to make it even more difficult. Eventually though, she does muster her courage and right her train of thought.

"My dark lord, forgive me, I'm afraid I'm inexperienced when it comes to many social cues. A life on the battlefield will do that to you. But I'd be lying if I said I'd never considered you." She rubs her elbow, trying her best to maintain eye contact.

"I'm just going to say it. You're a man, I'm a woman, we can do this here or we can go back to the bedroom."

The next morning, the square of the capitol is packed with citizens. There is more chanting, more shouting, and a few fist fights that must be broken up by the constabulary before you even take the stand at the center of the crowd, surrounded by your advisors and Hellraisers, who took a whopping hour to assemble all at once. When you do stand before the people, the din dies down, but not until you light your sword ablaze in a show of force does the mob silence. You begin the talks in short order.

Each group chooses a speaker to represent them and cast their vote, and though the nobles no doubt did their best to grease the cogs in their favor, the majority of speakers ask for a system where the guilds are free to decide on their own how things are run. They would have the government stay out of day to day affairs, with the authority to make broader decisions. The nobles would keep things as they are, where wealth and individual merit control the fate of the masses.

Alternatively, Vanessa whispers a third option into your ear as the speakers organize. She believes only your will should decide the nature of things, and therefore suggests deposing the noble class, but also forcing all to toil and work for a share of all goods and services to be evenly divided based on need, rather than effort. Those who do not contribute will simply be removed.

underneath us is guilds and the like, we stop them controlling shit, underneath them is basic government, which would resemble a communist state in ways, less obviously corrupt, since we are an honest evil dictator
good justice system, death penelty/hard labor for dissidents/murderers/kiddie fiddlers
good social projects/army
remove the noble class, take half their wealth for ourselves, give the rest to the people/projects of the country etc

There is, of course, loud and clear dissent, but you tell them your decision is final, and anyone who wants out is free to find escape at the end of a spear.

Some cheer, some throw stones, but by sunset the square is clear, and changes are underway. Shen and Legion had to step in more than once, but a good split skull does wonders to dissuade rabblerousers.

You leave Marigold and the Hellraisers in the city to make sure peace is kept while the reforms take effect, and return home with the rest of your allies in tow. When you arrive, everyone splits off to mind their own business, save for Vanessa, who has been hovering around you since breakfast, albeit subtly. Now, with the foyer cleared, and the two of you alone, you feel her eyes burning a hole in your head.

You wait for her patiently, and greet her warmly when she enters the office with wet hair and a soft brush, kicking the door shut with her slippered foot before settling down on the edge of your desk to brush out her raven hair.

"I'm glad you wanted to talk, Daddy. It's been lonely with all the stuff that's going on, and I know you want me to be less dependent on you, but it's not always easy. Hey, do you think you can tuck me in tonight, like when I was little? I know it's silly, but I think it would be nice if the last thing I see tonight is you beside me."

>"Go on then, I'll do my best to fill the blanks."

Vanessa hops down from the desk and walks around to sit in your lap, continuing her hair care ritual as she goes over some mental notes.

"Well, the comic book Caitlyn showed me said that when a boy and a girl do sex, the girl is supposed to let the boy do whatever, but that seems silly to me. I think the girl should be in control. That just makes sense. Also, why are people always going somewhere? Where are you supposed to go? It looks like they just stay in the same place the whole time. And why do they always sit around and talk after, that seems so boring. Oh, and does the baby start growing in your tummy right away? What do you use to clean up the mess? Do you have to be drunk, or is that just so you can't taste? Do all boys get sweaty? How many times can you use a boy before you have to change him? Do you have to pretend to like it even when you don't? Is it better to have your horns out? Is it rude to eat a boys soul before he finishes? Can you use the same boy more than one time, or is that clingy? How do you tell someone you want to do sex on them? Why is it called missionary? If you use your butt, are you still a virgin? Is it polite to share with your friends if you find someone good?"

You start to feel light-headed and twitchy, but you do your best to endure for as long as you can.

We're a dutiful parent, we will teach her everything.

L-lewd. We should marry her off to a deserving, timid husband that won't abuse her and enjoys being on the bottom.

You go down the list with Vanessa, from the mundane to the mythical, until she seems satisfied with the knowledge she has gained. By the time you wrap up, midnight has come and gone, and she is dreadfully sleepy. She wipes her eyes and yawns, resting her head on your chest.

"I think that's all, daddy. But I don't want to do sex anyway. It's gross. Boys are dumb. And I don't do crunches so my tummy will get big and round like a melon." She peers up at you, touching a finger to your nose as she smiles through heavy eyelids.

"Besides, compared to my daddy, boys are all weak, pathetic, feeble minded peons who might as well be ants, or paper dolls. I mean, I'm not trying to brag, but I'm pretty much the sequel to perfection."

This is seriously getting creepy. We need to find an eligible husband for our daughter before she goes on an incestuous rampage.

You tell Vanessa that she thinks this way now, but may not when she meets the right entity. She shrugs.

"Maybe, but right now I'm happy helping you, and being with everyone here." She shuts her eyes and sighs. "I'm too tired to get up. You have to carry me to bed and tuck me in."

You try to shake her off, but she clings like a tick, and eventually you give in and carry out of your office and up to her bedroom, where you plop her down onto the queen sized mattress and pull the covers over her before hugging her goodnight. She blows you a kiss as you leave the room, and you catch it, stuffing it in your back pocket for later.

You head down to your own room, exhausted and ready for a good night's rest. However, when you arrive, you are confronted by Sophia, who stands awkwardly a few feet away from the door, twiddling her thumbs as you enter.

"I uh, was trying to sleep, but my bed is pretty creaky." You stare at her in complete silence, waiting for her to get to the point.

"Er, what I mean is... maybe we could make this bed creaky too?" She takes a step back, and pats the covers of your bed, smirking.
