She makes no effort to dodge attacks, yet never seems to be hit. It's as if the attacks move out of her way. Looking to her teammates, you see the Fourth Hokage moving instantly from one place to the next with his technique, while the final team member, a round-faced guy with shaved hair, seems to be unaffected by his opponent's attacks as well, as if they are going right through him.

"Minato..." Jiraiya looks on with a pained expression. "Saeko and Umada are here too. This is going to be tough. It's a good thing all our forces are converging here, because we're going to need it. Most of the false Madara's Paths are here too."

Jiraiya turns back to the army he led here.

"Alright, we're going up against the Fourth Hokage here!" he shouts. "All of you need to be constantly watching each other's backs! He can show up anywhere in the blink of an eye!"

He directs the army into positions, then turns to you before leaving himself.

"Kon, I take it you want to face her yourself?" he asks. "I'd understand if you wanted to try and get some time with her. You've done plenty for us already, so don't feel obligated to rush. We can handle ourselves."

You want to help out elsewhere, but you can't resist taking this one chance for yourself. You assure yourself that the others will be fine without you for a while.

"I told you not to worry about it, kid." Jiraiya ruffles your hair. "We don't need you hovering over the whole army all the time. Let somebody else get some glory, eh? Now, watch out for Saeko's Wind jutsu. They're a doozy. As for that technique she called, I've never heard of it. Umada's either. Sorry I can't help you with that. Anyway, we'll all be close by. I think I see Neji on his way over here as well, so I'll enlist his help. Good luck, Kon."

Jiraiya leaves with the rest of the army to face off with the Fourth, while you head out in your mother's direction. You manage to head her off before she can reach another group of ninja. As your kunai lock, she gets a bit of a puzzled look on her face.

"Wait a minute... you seem familiar." she muses. "It might be the monkey mask and tail throwing me off, but your hair is just like Katsuo's... you... you aren't my son, are you? Is it you, Kon?"

Saeko jumps back and performs a Wind jutsu, blowing you and everyone near you away. You land and look in your mother's eyes. You can tell she's dying to know if you're her son. Removing your masks briefly, you reveal your face, forcing your usual grin.

"It's really you..." your mother starts to cry. "Look at you Kon, you've grown up so well. And I got to see it... Keiji must have tried really hard, huh?"

As emotional as your mother is getting, she doesn't look any less ready to fight. You stay on guard for her next attack. Though this may be the only chance you ever get to talk with your mother.

Her tears keep flowing despite the frantic slashing of her kunai against your bracers. So far, she hasn't seemed to try to hit you with anything too strong.

"I wish I could say I deserve it, Kon." she says. "But it's entirely my fault that you grew up without parents. I got Katsuo killed, too. This technique of mine, the Flying Wind God. Umada and I developed Space-Time Ninjutsu of our own to try and match up to Minato. The nine tails attack was the first time I ever used it in battle. I thought I was invincible. The jutsu lets me redirect objects in space-time, avoiding me entirely. Turns out some attacks are just too big to redirect. I got myself and my husband killed because I thought I could do anything. The only thing we even managed to do was save that one scar-nosed kid. I hope that amounted to something."

Before you get a chance to retaliate, your mother jumps back again and starts making some hand signs.

You spit out a few bursts of flame, and direct them into the walls of the tornado. your flames get stronger, while the wind gets weaker. After slowing the tornado down, you direct the flames toward your mother. She moves fast, dashing to and fro out of the flame's path. Once she lines them up, she performs another jutsu.

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

A huge blast of wind completely smothers your flames all at once, in addition to knocking down scores of ninja behind you. You just barely manage to stay your ground. Saeko runs back up to you again and goes back to slashing at your arms.

"Your jutsu actually sounds pretty cool, Mom." you say. "Do you think you could tell me more about it?"

"I was hoping to leave you one gift while I was here." your mother says, stopping her kunai slashes. She kicks you down and jumps back. "To make up for all those missed birthdays, at least a little bit. Take a look."

You glance at your bracers. It seems like seals have been carved into them. Your mother must have been doing that this whole time.

"Those are the seals I use for my Flying Wind God technique." she tells you. "I don't have time to teach you exactly how to mold your chakra for it, so you'll have to figure that out yourself. But as strong as you've become, I'm sure you can do it. It's all I can give you, but it's something."

Saeko gets ready to close in again, but this time you don't expect her to take it easy.

A thought: Kaguya's favorite way of fighting, despite her mastery of all chakra, is to use the Dead Bone Pulse to turn her bones into what amount to dissolver nanotech and shoot projectiles of them at her opponents. In other words, she ranged game relies entirely on very small projectiles. If we can fingure out the Flying Wind God in...sheesh, a day? Wow. If we can figure it out in the day we have before fighting her, we're going to be absolutely infuriating. She won't be able to snipe us, and if she closes to melee we have our own chakra cloak arms to ORA ORA ORA back at hers with. Of course, she doesn't have to use those techniques, if we keep annoying her with our refusal to fall to her favored tactics she'll switch things up and crush us. But for that brief time we'll have stymied the full strength of a would-be god, and that's going to be satisfying.

You lead your mother to a more secluded place, then suddenly turn and trap her in a Nebula Sphere. You try to condense as fast as you can, and she begins to crack, but she expels a gust of wind, blowing you back and stopping your jutsu.

"Impact Release, huh?" she asks. "It sounds like you've got a lot going for you, Kon."

"About that..." you say, getting up. "I've... got two girls who like me. One is from the Leaf and I've known and liked her for years, but she only noticed her feelings just now. The other is from the Stone, and she's been interested in me since I've known her. I don't really know what to do. Do you think you could give me some girl advice?"

Your mother's face goes red.

"Y-you what? Two girls? You're not some sort of playboy like Jiraiya Sensei, are you?" she stammers. "The last time I saw my son, he was a little baby, and know he's got girls all over him! How should I know what to do? I was just that gloomy girl nobody liked! They always said I sucked the fun out of any room I was in! Actually, we can do that on already. Senjutsu is immune to the exotic properties of Truth-Seeking Balls. Nature chakra treats the Truth-Seeking Balls like it does any other chakra, so even though it will be a strong attack for the sheer power put into it, Impact Sage Mode should be able to protect us from the TSBs with how durable and strong we become during it. Just grab one and slam it right back down Obito or Madara's throat, I hope we manage to do that.

As much as you'd love to keep talking with your mother, you know your time is running short. You'll have to be content with this.

"Thanks, mom. It's more doting mothering than I've gotten so far, and I'll take what I can get." you tell her. "Anyway, there's a war going on, and people need my help. I wish we could talk more, but this is it. Anything you want me to tell Uncle?"

As you finish, you summon Enma, telling him to get ready to restrain her.

"Keiji..." Saeko mutters. "Please tell him how grateful I am for spending his life raising both me and my son. I owe everything to him."

You nod, then close in with Enma. Your mother blasts out several gusts of wind, but you use your Release to clear Enma a path. Once Enma gets close, you fire a shattershot, giving him just enough time to transform.

"Adamantine Prison Wall!"

Enma transforms into several staffs, coming from all directions. Saeko tries to redirect them, but she can't use her technique on all of them at once, and is eventually encased, her limbs immobile.

You walk up to her and hug her through the bars.

"I love you, Mom." you tell her. "Thank you."

You can feel your mother's tears on your cheek.

"I love you too, Kon." she responds. her body starts to glow, then fall apart. "Goodbye."

You watch as your mother's soul is released from the Edo Tensei body and disappears.

After what feels like a long time, you are about to leave, but someone appears in front of you. It's Tenten, looking more than a little beat up.

"Kon!" she shouts. "They got Taiyaki. I tried to get him back, but he was too strong... But I was able to find Kabuto! He's controlling the Edo Tensei! We just have to stop him, and they'll all disappear!"

In the games Adult Sasuke's ultimate jutsu is to hurl his target up into a Chibaku Tensei a it forms in up in space, then as it comes crashing down on him he splits it apart with a massively-overpowered Chidori. So change this to a dog-shaped Chibaku Tensei that doesn't trap the opponent, but then Kiba rides it down as a giant wolf and pins the enemy between him and Sasuke using Susanoo.

The Second Hokage. You're a bit impressed that Tenten was able to keep up with him as long as she did. You shouldn't have to worry about her if she works together with some of your friends. You resolve to go.

"Send me to Kabuto." you say. "We need to stop the Edo Tensei."

"Right." Tenten responds. "I'll go around and see who can help, but remember that a lot of people are busy fighting. They may not be able to help. But I promise I'll find someone. Good luck."

Tenten grabs you, then you move instantly in front of a cave. Tenten waves, then disappears just as fast. You head inside.

In the dark recesses of the cave, you find a hooded figure. It's tough to see, but it is Kabuto, though he looks different than you last saw him. More snake-like. Anko is also behind him, unconscious.

"I've attained the power of the White Snake Sage, as well. Power that Lord Orochimaru could not achieve. I have become a dragon. If you are so confident about showing me the error of my ways, then come at me!"

Kabuto dives in your direction. A fight between Sages is about to begin.

Is there more to the Flying Wind God than there initially appears to be? Because it's cool, I definitely like it, I can see us getting some good use out of it. But it's been referred to in the past like it was going to be our big end-game powerup, and now that we have it it just doesn't feel that wide-reaching. It's more like one really strong new tool than the overall increase in abilities that's typically associated with that sort of powerup. So would it be possible to come up with new uses of it that Mom never did because she didn't have the tools we do (and also died during its first field test)? Like, I don't know, incorporating it into the Impact Sage Cloak so that we're in a constant space-warped state, or something like that.

I think it's the worry that Naruto will be too OP for anything Kon does to matter. I mean, let's be realistic here, it's not entirely unfounded. The end of canon might as well be gated off with a "You must be this related to the Sage of Six Paths to ride this ride" sign.
