This is the 9th story of the OPMUQ so far. I usually like to keep these threads self-contained so anyone can enjoy them, though there are often some references to older threads thrown in.

You are Arin Brown, simple farmer, or at least that’s who you were. You used to be a farmer, doing your chores and doing as you were told, playing alongside your best friend Rose. You saved your money for years, until you could finally afford a modest ring. You were always waiting for the perfect moment, but you waited too long. There came a day when the world was thrown into chaos, the goddess, Asriel had returned to the world of Kranum and with her she brought a great torrent of destruction and Chaos. Monstrous beasts rallied under the goddess, destroying and ransacking huge portions of the world. The kingdoms who surrendered to the goddess were allowed to live, while others were wiped from the map completely. Your home kingdom no longer exists, its burned remains are now ruled over by a powerful dragon, who has collected mass amounts of gold and captured many beautiful maidens to be held in his layer. This is where Rose is now, and you are determined to rescue her.

You have just climbed Oroden’s Peak, the largest mountain in this world, so tall that it reaches above the clouds. As you walk up this frozen nightmare, your vision of the way ahead is blocked by clouds. As the cloud parts, the top of the mountain is revealed to be a green and luscious valley. There you are greeted by an old man, with massive horns peaking out from his beautiful blue cloak, which obscures his face.

“Why have you come to this place?” he asks

“I have come for the power to save this world.”

“Why have you really come?” he asks coldly

“I have come for the power to save the one I love.”

He chuckles to himself. “Now were getting somewhere.”
>>
He motions to a shimmering pool of water in front of him.
“If your heart is pure, you will survive the drinking of the fountain… and if you survive, you will have all the power you could ever need, but be warned, the powers of gods were not meant for mortal men... it will be easy to lose your way. This power that could be your salvation, could also be your damnation.”

The hooded figure fades away. You walk to the pond and get down on both knees and drink from it. It burns like fire, you feel the powers of the world flowing through you, destroying your insides, your very soul being torn to pieces… You let out a scream of pain and suddenly it stops.

Your skin is glowing, ever so slightly. You feel powerful, like you could lift 10 men without breaking a sweat… The pool has found you worthy, and gifted you the power sorcerers could only dream of.
You will use this power to restore the world to peace.

For any new comers, as a magic user your powers are practically infinite but also extremely unreliable.
> You can use magic to do pretty much anything.
> Attempting to use magic requires a write in command and a roll of a d2
> 2 is a success
> 1 is a backfire
(Alternatively I will also accept the old d100 system)

If anyone has any suggestions for how to run these quests better or has a recommendation for future story lines I would appreciate it.

Last week people asked for a journey through a more fantastical world, and I’m gonna try my best to keep things interesting. There were also a lot of other feedback I will be trying to work with, so here’s hoping it all goes well.

In addition I may miss some requests, if I do, please feel free to try again, I don't consciously skip commands without acknowledging them, if yours got missed its probably because I planned to use it but forgot, or just didn't see it.

And Finally, I do have a twitter if that’s your kind of thing.

Let's start small by fixing our farm, test our powers.

Let fix our farm and then we create Hyperbolic Time Chamber so that we can train ourselves until we can achieve our super transformation.
>>
>>46457780
One of the first things you notice is your eyesight, it is beyond that of human capabilities. With a parting motion from your hands, the clouds open, and you can see down into the ruined landscape of your old home.

You breathe deeply and begin to try and remember your life on the farm, projecting these memories into the world itself. Down below you see the farm slowly rebuilding itself. You can't help but feel nostalgic as you see your childhood home returning to life.

This is truly a power unlike any other, to shape reality to your will, though you were warned that it could corrupt you.

>>46457789
Perhaps you require some kind of partner to help guide you.

Next to you, you conjure a beautiful women, wearing a long blood red cloak. She turns to face you in shock. "What kind of foolish sorcerer dares trifle with me? My guards will have your head for this you beast!"
>>
Rolled 2 (1d2)

>>46457951
Too early for this. Turn her into a nice sentient mug, fill her with coffee.
>>
>>46457999
As the Duchess continues to insult and belittle you, you feel uncaring. You wave your hand and the vile woman shrinks and curls into the shape of a red mug, panicking in confusion. You pick the mug off the ground and fill it with a scalding hot beverage. You can barely make out the sounds of a muffled scream in your mind.

>>46457847
Taking a step off the mountainside, you feel yourself standing on a cloud. You begin to float down to your farm. You quickly walk through the rooms, smiling as you remember days gone by.

Now is not the time for reminiscing though. You must find a way to prepare for the coming battles, but you do not know if you have the time. Then inspiration strikes. You begin to construct a chamber not subject to the laws of this world, a chamber with an alternate flow of time. The door swings open and you walk inside. A small building and a platform float surrounded by glowing lights are all that exist in this chamber. Behind you the gates shut. They will not open again for 24 hours... or in your time. an entire year.

You realize you may have kept the the duchess' sensations still active and that the scalding beverage she's currently holding is causing extreme physical distress.

You focus slightly on the heat of the liquid and the mug, but suddenly you feel your body tense up. You feel the energies in your body going haywire as you clutch the mug with an intense grip, and slowly heat it until it begins to melt, spilling to the floor.

You gasp for breath as you regain control of the situation... is this what the wise man meant when he told you that you might lose your way?

>>46458286
You can still sense the soul of the duchess within the melted mug. You attempt to reverse what you have done, but as the molten porcelain attempts to form the shape of a human, not only is there not enough, but the form is only able to let out a terrified scream before melting away again.

>>46458294

Elsewhere, in the vast world of Kranum, a young boy pulls a sword from a stone, beginning the completion of an ancient prophecy, the chosen one.

>>
>>46458542
You can feel the spirit of the duchess is suffering, but you try once again, making up for the lack of material by simply forming a smaller body. As the shape begins to settle, you wave your hands and make it flesh and blood.

The little red haired girl stares at you in terror, tearing up. "What have you done to me! Change me back immediately, before I... before I... I don't know yet, but when I think of it, you'll be very sorry!"

"Don't worry about it little girl." you say as you begin to pat her head softly.

"I'm not a little girl! I'm a duchess! I am a powerful ruling lady!" She kicks you in the shin and runs away in tears. It hurts more than you were expecting honestly.

You try to refocus yourself on your loved one. You're doing this for Rose and you can't lose your way, you're sure if you ever did, this power would consume you. You pull a beam of light out of the sky and tie it around your left pinky and enchant it to lead you down the right path, but the shining light fades into a dull grey, and you can feel it leading you nowhere.

You sigh as you conjure up a golem to serve the two of you as well as various other amenities, books and furnishings. She will realize she's trapped here soon enough, and you might as well be ready to keep her comfortable now, to save you time later.

>>46459002
For yourself, you summon an ancient tome of dragons. Quickly looking over it you recognize many of these names from stories and fairy tales. Near the end you find the section on Timulth the Betrayer, a powerful dragon who turned on his own kind in return for the Goddess Asriel's favor. Timulth is greedy, wanting things purely so others cannot have them. He would have no interest in human women if it weren't for the fact they are wanted by others. His breath is hot enough to turn any living thing to mere ash, and his scales harder than any metal. As a dragon he is resistant to many forms of magic, though not immune.

Timulth's weakness lies in his own arrogance. He will almost never deny a challenge, however, it is unwise to expect him to uphold his end of the bargain without magical aid.

>>46459135
You close the old tome, needing to focus on your training. You attempt to conjure a powerful warrior, one who can help you hone your skills over this next year. As your magic takes hold, a man in armor takes shape in front of you, shouting and swinging his blade.

"To the blackest depths with you! I fight with my last breath!" He stops suddenly, looking around. He places his hand over his armor, as if looking for something. "The wounds are gone..." he says, his voice muffled by his armor. "How is that... Is this heaven? No.. can't be heaven... there ought to be more people here if this was heaven. You there, where am I?"

"You're in a magical chamber I constructed. The time here flows significantly faster than on the outside. An entire year of training can be accomplished in a single day. Our foes are powerful and we need to train to become stronger. Together, we may even be able to become the legendary super saiyan!"

He lets out a laugh that echoes through the chamber.

"I've always thought the fancy flames of a sorcerer were no match for a trusty blade, but this is some magic I can see the appeal in! I may not know what a super saiyan is, but if it means taking back the world of Kranum, you can count on the the great Alexander Blackgate!"

In the distance you notice the duchess staring wide eyed at the knight, before rushing to hide.

The two of you spend the next few hours training together. He teaches you the very basics of sword-fighting, axe-fighting, lance-fighting, mace-fighting and many other forms of combat.

>>46459889
Having found your preference in lance fighting, Alexander suggests it be fitting for you to craft your own personal weapon. Using your knowledge of dragons, you begin forming a lance capable of piercing magical protection, as well as the scales of a dragon. The spear will also serve as an excellent conductor of magical energies, allowing you to cast through it, and potentially, even effect a dragon, should the lance pierce it's hide.

The lance begins to take form, pure magical energy made manifest. As soon as the weapon is complete, you feel completely exhausted. Alexander suggests you take a rest. The two of you head back to the main building and find Jeeves the golem has already prepared dinner. Alexander sees a third place has been set.

"You didn't tell me we had company, I should have introduced myself sooner." he says, his voice still muffled by his helmet, which he continues to insist on wearing.

Alexander jumps up from the table. "What's gotten into you, that poor girl..." He stares at her for moment before taking out his sword.

You stare at the duchess, learning her name with a mere thought.

"Alexander this is Meredith Flamerose."

You turn to him and feel yourself glow. In one hand you begin forming an amulet to serve as a prison of the mind, and with the other you attempt to force Alexander into it. You look around this empty world. You created it to follow your own commands. Perhaps this can serve as a good experience for you.

You begin to meditate. attempting to form your various issues and flaws into manifestations you can confront. Some begin to take shape. Giant brooding monsters of despair and hopelessness, as well as your temper, taking the form of a red giant. Manyother smaller figures take shape as well... then many more, and more. They begin to swarm you. You hold them at bay with a mere thought, but then, stepping forward from the crowd, a tall and slender figure, with barbed skin and long twisted claws marches forward.

It slowly caresses your skin, tearing at it. It places a claw through your shoulder. The pain is excruciating but you cannot react. You finally manage to get the words out. "Who are you?"

"I am your cruelty, your desire to harm and torture." it whispers back.

"I'm a good person, the waters judged me." you reply.

"Would a good person subject an innocent woman to such awful tortures... well perhaps she isn't innocent, but you don't know that for sure. Even if you could justify your actions... can you really justify the fact you enjoyed it? Even just a little bit, you enjoyed the suffering you caused her, and that terrifies you."

"Enough!" You shout as you close your eyes and will the monsters away. When you open them the monsters remain. The all charge you at once. Tearing at your flesh and skin. A large crack of light forms in the sky, before tearing open even further. Light fills your vision completely. When you can see again you are laying on the floor of the dining room, Alexander has just smashed your amulet by stomping on it.

You take Alexander's hand and he helps get you to your feet.

"You mind explaining what's going on with all this?" he gestures to the amulet as well as the duchess.

"Well about that, I'm not too sure who she is myself, maybe you could help clear that up?" You explain, gesturing to the little girl.

"Well, this little girl is Duchess Meredith Flamerose, ruler of the Red Keep. Or at least she was, until she sold out her people to the Mad Goddess. While the world tore itself to pieces, she watched safely from her tower, as her citizens and knights were captured and sacrificed. Me and some others got away, leading others to a safe keep, but in time, that too was raided and it's people slaughtered. I barely got away, and honestly that was more your doing than my own.

Meredith backs away in fear.

"Stand back, I'm going to return her to her rightful age so we can hear what she has to say for herself." you say.

You focus on her, or at least you try to. You start experiencing an intense migraine. You hear the voice of the demon in your mind. "Why would you go about fixing her now. We're just getting started." You put your hands over your head and try to stay focused. Alexander tries his best to hold you steady. He shouts at you to get a hold of yourself. Your vision gets blurry and you can feel your hair touch the back of your neck, growing rapidly.

By the time you regain control, you've aged several years, a few decades at least. You've grown a beard and your hair is shaggy and grey.

Alexander gives you a concerned look. "Perhaps you are messing with things that beyond your control sir. This is dangerous magic."

You explain to them that while you have some control, it's a dangerous gift, and you are always at risk of losing your way and becoming corrupted by it. As you finish explaining that, as if on cue, the rose explodes outwards, vines growing across the room and cutting you and Meredith, but glancing harmlessly of Alexander's impressive armor.

You continue to focus on the vines and have them slowly weave into the shape of a massive ship and then change into wood. The ship destroys some of the walls and a bit of the ceiling as you force it from the building. Massive sails spring from the deck of the ship. An airship floats gently beside the building as you piece the broken entrance back together.

The two of them stare in awe at the ship.

You nod and attempt to focus on the image of a cat. What appears in front of you is a flayed mess of flesh and blood. Alexander drops to his knees. "Sir Whiskers!"

Meredith laughs. "You should have specified you wanted it alive you idiot. I accept your offer. For my first wish, I want to be the most powerful sorceress alive!"

You feel yourself beginning to lose control. You want to do something awful... You begin channeling your energies and when you are complete you turn back to Meredith and nod.

"You fool! You will all suffer for this indignity you have forced me through!" She yells as she raises her hand, but nothing happens.

"What... I don't understand."

"You are the last living sorcerer, so despite your lack of ability, you are still the most powerful one alive." you explain.

His cat was alive before you teleported it.

You wave your hand and Alexander begins to move again, if a bit stiff, letting out a large sigh of relief. The wood armor changes slowly into metal, while you feel yourself getting younger. The both of you turn to face a now adult Duchess Meredith, who's excitedly looking over herself.

For now you decide to focus on the task at hand. You and Alexander shake and hands and begin, conjuring up music to train to.

The two of you train for days. Days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months. Your skill has improved drastically, and even Alexander is becoming a better swordsman.

Don't forget to make the duchess Polish Alexander's boots and wash the dishes and all that. Add one pan that never quite becomes clean to mess with her.

Create a magical grass that will spread across the surface of the planet in a day, is resistant to fire and regrow quickly, and that releases a pollen that causes extreme allergies in dragons, giving them headaches, watery itchy eyes, and causing them to sneeze constantly.

It's also super soft and springy.

During the training, Meredith spends her time cleaning and polishing Alexander's armor as well as the dishes and house. She'd likely have never cooperated if it weren't for the use of a little curse. As she worked away, she would prevent her body from changing into that of a cow, but thanks to one little pan that never quite becomes clean, she could never hold it back completely. She was upset at first of course, but nothing quite upset her so much as her first moo. Once her hands were replaced with hooves she essentially gave up, and you returned one day from training to find not an upset woman, trying communicate through a series of moos, but a full fledged cow.

You laugh to yourself as you decide to take the humiliation further, preparing a brand for cow, but as you approach it, a powerful kick to the arm causes you to miss and accidentally brand yourself instead. The searing pain is far worse than you expected, and you're pretty sure that kick may have fractured a bone.

As time flies further forward, Jeeves the golem takes over for Meredith's cleaning as she is left to mope around the building.

The day finally comes that you and Alexander complete your training. The two of you decide to try something insane. You try and to perform an ancient ritual, the fusion dance.

>>46464296
The two of you stand at each other's side and point your fingers in the air.

"Fusion- HAH!"

In a flash of light, you and your weapons disappear, and in your place, Alarin, a man clad in part armor, part robes, holding a mighty sword lance of pure magical energy made manifest.

With a year of training completed, the doors of the chamber open. You, being Alarin, climb aboard the ship, carrying Meredith the overweight cow and Jeeves the golem over your shoulder with ease. As you place them down, you will the ship forward, crashing through the gates and coming out the other side into the world of Kranum. It's been so long since you've last seen your home, and yet, it's only been a single day.

You fly around the dead lands of your old home in search of the mighty dragon, but alas, you find nothing. After several hours of searching, you come up with a plan.

>>46467301
You begin to conjure a fast spreading magical grass that will across the fallen kingdom. This new plant is resistant to fire and regrows quickly. This plant also releases a pollen that causes extreme allergies in dragons, giving them headaches, watery itchy eyes, and causing them to sneeze constantly.

It's also super soft and springy.

This is getting pretty gross man.

As you conjure up magical grass, you can't help but feel Meredith is a little too excited to be out of the chamber. You aren't quite finished with your cruel and twisted punishments just yet. You begin forming a strong bull which you name Duke. At first she seems confused, but as Duke stares at her she begins to panic, running as fast she can away from you. The overweight cow can't outrun Duke, but as he gets closer and closer to her, you can feel a part of your mind revolting against this idea, trying to convince you to stop this from happening, but you react too late, as Meredith jumps off the ship and plummets to the ground below.

The soft grass cushions the blow, but you realize that you never told Meredith about the grasses qualities... she just attempted to take her own life.

I mean it's a power-fantasy/torture-porn quest, what do you expect from players?

Change her into a human again.
>>
>>46471019
>torture-porn quest

I've never thought about it that way, though I'm starting to see it now. This is a happy and light hearted quest., keep your bestiality rap at home please.

You float down to the cow, unable to right itself up again having fallen over on it's side. Watching her there so pathetic you can help but feel some sympathy. With a little magic you begin chaning her back into her human form... or at least you try. As you begin, one of the first things you change is the eyes, and in Meredith's human eyes you see the glimmer of hope. Your whole body twitches a little as an idea enters your mind on how you can crush that glimmer of hope.

With a bit of magic, the two of you are back on the boat and staring face to face with Duke, who slowly transforms into a human right before your eyes. He's tall and hansome and has red hair, much like Meredith used to when she was human.

Sorry I kind of just dissappeared guys. I don't think I'm going to be able to continue this today. I will try and put up a new thread on Thursday for the continuation for anyone interested, but I can't make any promises.

And Again I thought I'd reiterate that I don't know if I will be able to run any quests for the next two weeks. There's a chance, but I wouldn't count on it.

As always here's my twitter to know when I'm running things.

https://twitter.com/ExcaliburQM

Hope you guys have a great day!
