>You are Princess Zelda, heir to the fallen throne of Hyrule

>Your father, corrupted by Power, died in a coup, your Kingdom shattered in a civil war 10 years ago, the Hero in Green giving his life to ensure you escaped the conflict

>An uneasy peace has returned to the land, but omens of a descent into greater chaos than before loom on the horizon

>You, Zelda Hyrule, have the potential to claim your birthright and restore the Kingdom to what it once was, bring back true peace to the lands. Your path ahead is not set in stone; you must chisel it in yourself. What kind of Legend will you create?

You and Aveli make it back to Ordon Town before nightfall truly sets in, and head towards an inn to stay the night, Aveli paying for you both. You can tell the girl wants to bombard you with questions, but thankfully she's keeping a lid on it to avoid drawing any extra suspicion. She still has quite a few, but mostly related to your training. You go long into the night talking about how Impa trained you, certain tricks you've picked up along the way, and your most recent encounters.

In the following morning, you head out fairly early. Aveli looks over her helmet, thumb drawing across the damaged section. "Heh. Guess I'll need a new one." Putting it on her head, she hesitates, almost like she doesn't want to leave, but knows the weight of the responsibility that's been asked of her. "...Termina, I promise I won't let you down. I'll warn them."

"I thank you greatly for this." you tell your comrade with a smile.

"Er..." she tries to rub the back of her neck, the motion looking a little awkward with the bulky armor she wears. "...on the off chance I do need to tell someone about... w-well, you know, but not make it obvious... is there some kind of signal, or sign I should give? Secret handshake or something?"

You smile sweetly at her, getting out your harp. "This is a relatively simple tune, but only a select few know the full melody. This should be a clear indication to those who know it that you speak the truth when you claim to be my ally. Use it well."

https://youtu.be/xzJ7AJmnxQk

Aveli listens intently, and after a couple tries hums out the tune fairly well. She does a little fist-pump into the air once she has it down. "All right, thanks, Termina. I won't let you down." The two of you walk out of the forest together, the place seeming oddly quiet this early in the morning as even the chirping of the birds seem distant and faint, stopping when you reach the vast expanse of Hyrule field. Your ally scans the area ahead, then looks out West. With a hand outstretched, the little Iron Knuckle tells you, "Termina... no, Princess Zelda. Good luck."

"And to you, Aveli. I wish you well." you state while shaking her hand. She takes off as fast as the Belt of Winds will let her go, the Keaton appearing from the mask it gave you and, still in its tiny form, hopping on your shoulder.

"Hee-hee-ho! She has much spirit for one so young, even for a Gerudo. And without a second thought, she puts herself at great potential risk for you..."

Wait, huh? "Pardon? What risk?"

The Keaton turns his head and chuckles softly. "That would be telling. Now, Princess, where shall we head next?"

>A. We shall go East, towards the Zoras' Domain
>B. North-East, headed to Kakoriko with intent on going to Death Mountain

So that's a .001% of happening. Probably wrong, but rolling 3 numbers in a row when there's 9 other possible outcomes for each roll is pretty low.

"The Zoras' Domain to the East would be the best place to go. Thank you again for your help, Keaton."

"You need it." he replies. The golden, three-tailed fox hops off your shoulder, growing dramatically in size. With a nod, you hop on his back, and are off like a yellow bolt of lightning once again.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKMf5CQmzvs

Hyrule field almost becomes a blur to you as the Keaton moves swiftly, yet strangely silently, as if you're moving along with the wind itself. The fox crosses the vast plain in no time, a mighty leap crossing over a stream. Finally you reach the outskirts of the Zoras' Domain, a waterfall area. The Keaton makes a better stop this time, though you still nearly feel like you're about to be flung off once he does. He shrinks back down and enters the mask once more as you look over the area. A bit of a climb to the waterfall entrance, but you can manage it.

You walk onward, a seagull in the skies ahead. You're almost too distracted by the sound of the water flowing near you, distracted enough that you don't notice something until it's too late. A voice calls out above you. "Ahhhhh! Help, help!" You barely have enough time to even look up when...

A woman lands on you. Not gracefully either. You're pushed face-first into the dirt, taking... well, quite a bit more damage than you were expecting when you arrived here.

https://youtu.be/DxvW19U63hg

"Oww... th-thank- OH GODDESSES SORRY! SORRY!" the lady shouts in a panic as she gets off you. "A-are you okay?!"

"M-mostly..." you mumble into the dirt, then let out a soft groan of "Oww..." That... was not what you were expecting. She quickly helps you up, dusting you off, a panicked look in her face slowly leaving as she sees you're all right. Mostly.

"I am so, SO sorry!" she says, looking you over. "Th-thank you, though, for, uh... breaking my fall... a-are you sure you're okay?"

Just some hurt pride and dignity, you think to yourself. "Yes. Just... be more careful next time." you request, trying to make it sound equal parts joke and honest instruction. Your turn to look her over. A woman about the same height as you, youthful but you can't quite tell if she's the same age or not, lacking the pointed ears of fellow Hylians, with red hair, a sky blue dress, sandals... this is not exactly wear you'd expect for someone trying to make it through such an area. "What were you doing here, exactly?"

She hangs her head shamefully. "I... was trying to find a way into the Zoras' Domain. It was supposed to be simple..."

You ask the first logical question. "How exactly did you, er, fall, Miss?"

She shows you an object fastened to the back of her purple sash... wait, a Hookshot? "Like I said, I was trying to find a way into the Zoras' Domain, but... I kinda... slipped on one of the rocks up there." she admits with an embarrassed blush, pointing upwards.

"I... see." Strange lady. "Well, I'm Termina. Nice to, um... break your fall, Miss...?"

"Lynna, I'm from Gaebora Town, just south of here by the coast." she says, an awkward smile on her face. "Was trying to see what's wrong with the river that flows down there, and my search led me to the source here, but... I can't get in. The entrance is blocked."

>A. Blocked how?

All of the above.

>>
>>46501295

>>
>>46501361
I dunno, there WAS a seagull that Kato pointed out.
>>
>>46501361
It's probably a modified expy rather than literally being the character.
>>
>>46501486
I dunno, we've got actual princess Zelda as the MC but a relatively minor character all things considered needs an expy?

Granted there's lots of Zeldas, but still.
>>
>>46501189
>A. Blocked how?
>B. I didn't notice anything wrong with the river as I approached here, can you explain more?
>C. You came all this way with no escort?
>>
>>46501557
Well, the alternative is that she's literally the character, which seems unlikely since the character canonically does not exist.
>>
>>46501189
"Blocked... how, exactly?" That can't be good.

She sighs. "The bridge in has collapsed, and there's a large stone... or at least I think it's a stone, at the entrance. I tried to make my way up top, but..." She looks back at the rock she pointed out to you. "A-are you sure you're okay?"

Well, at least she shows genuine concern over that. "I am. Though, did you come all this way alone? No escort, or...?"

She hangs her head and sighs again. "I'm... well, I don't exactly have the funds for it. I managed to get a minor bit of help the other day from the Postman, but..."

"Right. Okay." Money concerns. Of course. You glance at the flowing waters. "...you say there's something wrong with the river, but I didn't notice anything wrong as I approached here, can you explain more?"

"Ah, well it's not immediately visible at first, but look closer." She almost drags you to the riverbank. "There's no... life to it. Animals are either dead or avoiding it completely, and whatever is there is running off into the ocean."

Sure enough, there's a tiny skeleton of a fish visible deeper in the water, but nothing else. Huh. It's so... sterile. It's almost unsettling now that you notice it.

That... sounds like a serious problem. "How long has this been going on?"

"At least a week. Possibly longer." she replies sadly. "It's already doing damage to the fishing industry in the town. Catches have been coming in already rotting, people can't even go to the beach anymore, and strange ghost ships have appeared just on the horizon..." She crosses her arms, looking mildly upset. "And the worst part is the mayor's doing nothing about this. Nobody is."

"And that's why you're here yourself?" you ask, connecting the dots. Her grumpy expression fades back into the more pleasant one she had as she nods. "Well, I may be of some assistance in one regard. Can you show me the way to the entrance? I have business with the Zora as well."

"W-why sure! Absolutely!" she says with a quite hopeful tone in her voice, lips stretched into a gentle smile. Lynna brings you with her, the increasingly unsettlingly quiet sound of the flowing river near you growing louder. When you reach the entrance way, there is indeed what seems to be a large boulder blocking the way, behind the waterfall that roars in front of it, bridge to the entrance broken completely. The woman sighs quietly. "See what I mean?"

You look over the area, noticing a second entrance deeper in the water... with several fish skeletons accompanying it. Two of them... still moving. The rock blocking the way seems to have a very tiny hole underneath it...

You look down into the water again. "I'm guessing that it'd be foolish to try to swim down there, right?"

She laughs. "I wouldn't recommend it. Waters have made a couple people ill back home, and I'd imagine it would be worse up here."

Of course. "Right. New plan then. I have an idea, but you might want to stand back, this requires... explosives."

Her eyes widen and she quickly moves back, keeping watch and plugging her ears. You pull out a bomb, grinning a little. Okay, gotta time this juuuuust right... NOW! You fling the bomb right in the opening, the sphere rolling slightly to position itself right under the rock. It detonates, bringing the rock down, and even managing to form a new bridge from it.

You turn to the other woman and do a little bow. "After you, Miss Lynna. Welcome to Zora's Domain."
