It's been what, 25 minutes now? How long does it take to reestablish comms with an Entry Plug? Poor Florence must feel awful.

And where is the Science Division Director anyway? Why can't anybody reach her?

Nope, CAG confirmed for slut so we no longer care and finance too pure for that kinda stuff.

I'm pretty much on your side except for that. I guess its more emotional maturity? I'm not quite sure if Rachel is quite there, I mean she did just try to climb out the window when someone she had awkward pity sex with showed up.

That said Rachel is a total bro, and our one truest ally in these trying times.

50/50 might be easiest. I'm sure they'll have an opinion.

There's way too much money in the Evas now, no way they're going to get rid of them. No matter how much hardware we get the VTOLs. I really didn't plan on being a surrogate parent when I signed on. I wonder how the kids will be, can be after all this.
>>
>>46633394
>I'm sure conventional forces are able to deal with angels alone, just give us more units.
In theory, the Evas are supposed to enable us to fight the Angels on even footing, leading to less loss of life and collateral damage.
I dunno if I can stand by how it hashes out in reality, but its all above my head. All I can do is try and keep everyone sane throughout the whole thing.
>>
>>46633394
>I'm sure conventional forces are able to deal with angels alone, just give us more units.

We Bought them, and made them, we might as well use them. Plus if there wasn't an inexplicably big thing to draw the attention of the other inexplicably big thing, the big thing that wants to kill us would just go right ahead and go to town.

Plus... Force fields are cool. They protected an entire tank battalion from orbital bombardment in Greenland.
>>
>>46633394
The real kicker is there might be weirder things yet to come. And I'm not talking about Anna spontaneously splitting into identical triplets.

Yeah, I would love to ditch the weird machines, but we will need to rebuild Unit 01. Or make Unit 04. I need to think about our combat readiness for whatever is at the horizon. And as much as believe in Canadian steel and skill of the people driving it, the only way to fight some monsters is with monsters of our own. Driven by kids. In the EVA-verse, Lilith is the nickname of an alien that crash-landed on Earth back when it was a lifeless rock. Basically the distant ancestor of the Lilim race aka: Humanity
She is named after a mythological figure in Judaeo-Christian folklore as a "prototype" bride to Adam, made from the earth just like he was. She ended up rejecting Adam's advances, and was deemed a failure. God would then create Eve, and Lilith would become the Serpent in Genesis although since it is only an apocryphical myth, many deny her existence altogether, and say that the serpent was none other than Lucifer himself
>>

We were testing a new Plugsuit, the one I'm wearing now. Apparently this suit permit greater synchronization rates with less danger to the pilot. The R&D's Director said that it would also keep Eva unit functional if there is someone else in the Entry Plug. As I understood it, this was the his pet project. As for the Head of Science, she is currently in Vancouver for the launch of the new MAGI unit they were building.

About what happened here... I'm not sure. I kind of blacked out, my ears are ringing still. I remember a familiar voice though. This is strange, it must have been a communication hiccup.

[Seth]
Major. I'm here at the Bridge. We're trying to reach Vancouver but to no avail.

Some of the science staff have a plan to power the Eva again to help with the bakelite removal. They said that if we keep Florence synch. ratio at 23% we should be able to keep Eva Unit 03 under control. What should I say to them?
>>
>>46635403

Can you give me a status report?
Time left in Life support, Any power left in the Eva battery?
>>
>>46635638
Should we really take the risk?
How many time is needed to reach the entry plug. Pilot retrieval is our priority.
>>
>>46635638
She has a new plugsuit on that I don't know anything about. Is that 23% based of it or the old plugsuit?
>>
>>46635638
We also should have been able to keep Eva Unit 3 under control during the experiment. Let's not risk getting more people enbakelited. They can power up Eva 2 if they want.
>>
>>46635638
Unless there's a risk life support won't last long enough for breaking in manually, I'm against powering Unit 03 now. Not before we have thorough analysis on what happened here.
>>
>>46635653
If I remember correctly, life support lasts for several days, assuming that the Entry Plug itself is undamaged.
I'm assuming that they let the power supply drain out, so I doubt it.
>>
>>46635638
[to Eileen] What did the voice say?
>>
>>46635713
>They can power up Eva 2 if they want.
There's no time to calibrate it for Eileen to use. If we do that, we need to have Anna brought in.
>>
>>46635687
If the new plugsuit is what causes the interference, maybe Florence can just take it off? After we switch channel to voice-only, that is.

But I'm more afraid about getting caught off guard without any EVA in NERV-MTL.
>>

>>46637621
We've still got Florence in reserve. She's not going anywhere for a few hours, at least.

>So let's start working on ways to attack back with what we have.
Assuming we use MAGI assisted aiming, how precise is Positron Rifle at extremely long distance?
>>
>>46637164
Not to mention
>R&D Head confirmed dead
>Science Head missing
>dozens of personnel dead

This is just stage two of an attack.

The curvature of the Earth prevents us from zapping Vancouver, as fun as that sounds.
>>
>>46637786
Shooting by ballistic curve? Getting to high enough vantage point? Nearby mountain or some such.
>>
>>46637786
But an airlifted Anna carefully positioned in a bomber's cradle with a hail mary...

Earlier I was trying to think of ways to potentially boost or overclock Ophelia's processing power.
>>
>>46637786
One. I don't think Vancouver has anything to do with it. Or if it does, not the whole of it. We are both aiming to protect and save the world here anons.

Provided we had a high enough vantage point, couldn't we fire at an angle?

Like pic related, though that's not to scale.

[Provisional Head of Science]
We have visual confirmation; Vancouver is completely dark.

U.N. evacuation forces will be there in 45 minutes, until then satellite surveillance will keep us updated.

Major, this is the dress I was wearing at tonight's dinner. And yes, there's something underneath it.

>>46637618
>>46637674
Alright, I'll order our Bomber wings to prepare.

>>46637690
There is no way we can safely hook up MAGI-ophelia with the 4rth Angel's core in this time frame. Safely is the key word here however, if you want to do it, we can.

>>46637712
They're already heading to Vancouver. They'll provide ground assistance if we're to engage an Angel in the city.

>>46637731
Yes. I believe we can activate Eva-03 to break free of the bakelite if we closely monitor the synchronization rates.

>>46637737
We already tried to no avail.

>>46637743
I'm afraid of this too, Major. We're really defenceless here without bombers or Units.

Do you want to do this attack in this thread or should we wait until Thursday?
>>
>>46637849
THAT SOUNDS AWESOME!
>>
>>46637882
Depends on if you're ready to roll now or not.
>>
>>46637882
We're good if you are.
>>
>>46637882
Do we know where in Vancouver is MAGI located? Ideally we do precision strike just to disable the MAGI with minimal collateral damage.
>>
>>46637882
Euronanon here. Thursday pls.
>>
>>46637882
We can discuss funding if you prefer.
>>
>>46637882
Send an expedition force then. Any Tanks we can spare and any VTOLs. Designate EVA Unit 02 for deployment in Vancouver as well.

Have EVA Unit 03 remain here, and standby on its activation in case any immediate threat arises. Tanks and any remaining VTOL squads should remain with us here.

Alright, we'll continue this Thursday at 14:00 (UTC-5:00)

>>46637990
Yeah we should.

I made several errors in the last damage report, I'm working on a new document right now so we can start the funding allocation.

Should I stream?
>>
>>46638157
Oh, alrighty then. Archiving thread, and hopefully we'll see to that new on Thursday.

And yeah, if you want to stream, now is a good time for it.

I still wonder if you got a place where you post your stuff at.

Still confused as to whether it's just NERV-Vancouver that's gone dark or Vancouver-Vancouver has gone dark too.
>>
>>46638228
We get away with n2 mining Vancouver.
>>
>>46638247
Both. Both are dark. Vancouver is entirely down.
>>
>>46638247
Looking at the map provided, I think it's all of Vancouver.
>>
>>46638247
the whole of Vancouver is presently darker than Detroit
>>
>>46638197
I like the PR plan. We're only using 2 funding units for the Nice Guys NERV stuff, and we still have plenty left for upgrades.
>>
>>46638197
I don't like how you grouped the technologies. I prefer MAGI and Positron.
>>
>>46638269
>>46638279
Dayumn that ain't good.

Still, I think the odds are that the angel's taken over the power grid and communication network and the people are stuck with their thumbs up their butts rather than some grand conspiracy or mindfuckery.
>>
>>46638300
I agree. I would also prefer MAGI and Positron research.
>>
>>46638328
This. The last thing I want to do is vaporize a bunch of bystanders to an attack. That's why I'd rather have boots on the ground first to verify whether or not everything is fucked and needs to die in nuclear fire.

The whole city.
>>
After this is over and we are still alive we need to stop recruitment and transfers from the Vancouver base and anyone associated with it. It's too dirty. We probably don't have the authority, but we can make a recommendation to the base commander as head of tactics.
Not that the base commander seems to do anything.
>>
>>46638328
>angel's taken over the power grid
The way power grid works, if one transformer station burns the rest is very likely to follow in domino effect unless active counter-measures are taken immediately. In other words, cutting whole city off is easier than you'd probably imagine.
>>
>>46638293
>>46638300

Good work on the plans, but I don't think there is really any guarantee for the increased pull with the UN.

>the other PDF, for anyone who wants it.
>>
Are we able to make a new unit division?
>>
>>46638483
Is this something you guys would be interested in? Making new conventional units?
>>
>>46638677
I'd rather see new EVA unit, unorthodox design, but this works too.
>>
This attack was a long time coming. I think when we killed those infiltrators we prevented them from creating a back door. in addition to something else they were doing? What is the base commander even doing?
In canon, the virus angel was killed by manipulating its mutation to it's death, but that probably won't work here.

>>46638677
It would be nice to have it as an option, though I can't see myself voting for it with some of the other options.
>>
If anyone have ideas about the whole training programs by the way.
>>
>>46638692
How do we acquire new Eva units, anyway?

I think the proposal in your PDF works fine.
>>
>>46638851
Dammit, second line was meant to reply to >>46638789
>>
>>46638789
I think it's time we start thinking about space combat preparation. We don't know when an angel appears that decides to threaten from orbit. I'm not sure the out-of-EVA training will do much for us.

>>46638851
I think we need to rely on the UN mostly, although there might be repairs going on for our lost unit.
>>
>Can't kill an angel you can't see
The moment we confirm it's an angel we bomb the other NERV facility until we see the giant cross. It's the only way to be sure.
>>
>>46638899
Couldn't we hit any orbital threats with the Positron Rifle?

As a fan of all sorts of strategy games, and a borderline alcoholic Canadian, I always wondered how it would play out if I was running a NERV base. This is pretty much what I was expecting. Horrendous misuse of company resources, phyrric victories and so, so much maple whiskey.
>>
>>46638927
If the angel has a counter to it we would have no other option to fall back to. Something as small as training the EVAs for space combat is worth it I think.
But if we get the space tech we might be able to bomb angels from space.
>>
I dont think we need another Eva at this point.

My vote is for 'Battlegroup' but drop Kings upgrades for increased City repairs.

Research wise we need to get our Evas up to speed. After 2 problems with the plugs I vote we get some movement on that front. We cant afford another tang incident.
