Welcome to A Song of Revenge and Gold: House Malroy Quest. In which you take the reins of a House of storied glorious past since Aegon’s Conquering, but whose fortunes have taken a turn for the worse in the doom that Robert’s Rebellion brought. You are Brynden Malroy, second son to Lord Vamos Malroy and Lady Esemella Hayford and the last living heir to Steadhold and House Malroy. The year is 285AC, two years after the Rebellion and a year after your return to Westeros.

House Malroy is a pre-genned House designed around the idea of a story within the Crownlands of a House fiercely loyal to the Targaryens and their attempts to live in this new world after Robert’s Rebellion. Lord Brynden Malroy is as well pre-genned but will take direction from the players in his ways and how he develops himself further. This Quest will be moderately more story driven than others of its kind, but the development of the House and her lands will take just as much importance.

If you’ve played one of the many Quests within the ASoIaF setting the rules of the SIFRP system should be known. I will be using the Game of Thrones edition, as well as a few of the expansions namely OOSP and a few house rules which will be explained as we come to them. If you have questions about how things work or why certain actions are taken I can explain them as we go along. In truth this is a learning experience for me as well.

And now without further ado.

“Do you eagerly go to war my Lord Silvershft? To leave me behind, worried and helpless, heavy with child?”

You cast an eye back towards your bed, your wife, Obella Qorgyle looks to you, pools of blue drinking in your wildfire of early morning. She had propped herself up on her elbow, the slip of the sheet sheer against her nude form, her other hand caressing the bump upon her stomach, a much more pronounced thing in the eighth month of her pregnancy. A smile creeps upon her lips as your eyes travel the length of her body and lay to rest upon her face an eyebrow quirking inquisitively at your lingering eyes. Chuckling under your breath you turn back towards your mirror, examining the lacing of your under garbs and nodding with satisfaction before speaking with a playful tone, “I am a sellsword my Lady Scorpion, it is my nature.”

Obella huffs loudly behind you, you swear you can feel the pouting upon her face on the back of your head, “Am I to become yet another forgotten conquest then, as every lady before? Your words spoke of so much more, such a foolish girl I am.”

Rolling your shoulders into the black woolen undercoat Arron had sat out earlier this morning you turn to watch Obella feign wiping a tear away, and laugh, “Foolish indeed, to believe a wild stallion can be so easily tamed.”

“Against my better judgment I rode upon the stallion, fears swallowed hard in the face of whispers of velvet. You are just as they say Lord Silvershaft.”

“Truly I am,” you respond crossing the room as she spoke and taking a seat upon the edge of the bed, leaning across her lap and kissing her neck.

“And now you seek to placate me with sweet kisses and false promises?” she says turning her head to the side and out of your reach.

Reaching up you cup her face and pulling it back to your own, pressing your forehead against her own, “I never speak false promises.”
>>
“But you know I must worry. It is my place as your Lady. When word reached my ear that you had been attacked in Sunspear after our meeting, the feeling in the pit of my stomach churned like the sea until I saw you again and my heart did break as I watched you limp.”

“They are no worse than the sellswords in Essos, poorly outfitted bandits, a far cry from the Kingswood Brotherhood that once stalked these lands. I ride alongside my brothers-in-arms, those that followed me to Westeros who have seen the worst that the Free Cities have to offer. I am safe my Lady, I shall be safe, and I shall return,” you say stroke her hair, a soft coarseness that your fingers easily slipped between.

“I knew what our marriage entailed, the man you were, the lengths you would go to protect your family, me. My brother admires that in you, my mother sees your strength even, they speak highly of you they placate my fears. Your sister… She… She spoke so well of you, of your strength, your faults. But never once did her faith in your seem to waver, even after all these years. It was enough to make me feel guilty for doubting you. I know you will be safe my love, but I still need to hear your words Promise me you will return to me unharmed, to our child,” she asks of you, lacing the woolen coat with deft fingers and and placing a shaky hand over the knot, “Please.”

Your eyes cast down to the bump of her stomach under the sheets, you allow your hand to rest upon it as your eyes meet hers again, the glimmer of early morning sun reflecting in her pools, “I promise Obella, I will return to you and our child. Safe. Unharmed. Whole. I swear to you,” you say with a kiss.

>>
You could still taste her upon your lips, the sweet honey of the tea she drank before bed, the hint of spice she loved. And though your body was here, your heart rested elsewhere, closer to you than it had in years. Your mind remains focused, eyes alert upon the battlefield. The fire in your chest had expanded to the ever length of your body, your fingers felt the thrum of your bow as it loosed another air, your legs clutched tightly to Goldsong, the old boy having hardly lost a step in his year vacation from war. Your right foot digs into his side and he veers to the left, a volley of half hearted arrows missing you and Goldsong by a good few feet, you fire back an air and watch it dig deeply into the the bowman’s eye his hands clutching it uselessly as he falls to the ground.

Ser Mason Flowers and the Sons of Gold follow after your lead as you rush through the camp, their arrows followed your own, striking the fringes of the your enemy with deadly volleys. For a moment you remember your father, he would be proud, you rode like him, fought like him, the mounted archers of your family had been tradition for years. Something that lived on with you. Eyes scan the carnage about the battlefield, most of the bandits had been asleep, half dressed, the others too drunk to mount a counter offense so deep in the night. Pockets of resistance had formed and were now fighting against your First Regiment among the fires that raged from the Heavy Cavalrymen’s torches. Tents fell into flame, screams of pain and rage roared across the field. A fuller volley of arrows launches from the furthest reaches of the camp, a proper offensive lead by a tall thin man who was screaming and violently pointing towards the melee amongst the tents. Not Tomas you surmise after a round and breaking off from your men with a quick flick of your fingers allowing Mason to take lead.
>>
YES IT IS TIME.
>>
Fairbanks had told you from his intel Tomas was a heavy set man with a long beard, who fought with a greataxe in half-plate. Likely he was entrenched in a battle further up the camp with Lucas’ Infantrymen and your Knights who wheeled for another charge against the enemies own mounted men.

Eyes scan the battle as it rages around you, a quick shot from your bow strikes a bandit square between the eyes as he charged you from the ground. Goldsong wheels in circles under your command, giving you full view of battle. Your senses feel overwhelmed, your ears catching the crackle of fire, the screams of men cut down. Your fingers flex, the grainy grip of your bow digging deeply into them. The smell of fire, blood, shit and piss assault your nose, war was not the flowery affairs as they were attested to in ballads, a fact well remembered. Though through it all the taste upon your lips remained the same, an unforgotten kiss, a promise. Eyes narrow and you press forward into the breach, attacking…

>The archers firing upon the melee, your men were sitting ducks against them.

So I've finally caught this live and have been trying to ask this question for a while!

When we send off our child to Lysa Tully, can we send with it a group of dornish soldiers under our (or Obellas) command to protect said child from any misdeeds? The idea here being that we send them as "cultural advisors" to make sure our child has an understanding and appreciation of Dornish culture, something I think Obella would insist on anyway. Not to mention, no one would find it all that surprising.

Yay? Nay?

First: Success, four degrees.
Second: Success, two degrees.
Third: Success, four degrees.

The archers had become a problem, perhaps the only problem, but a problem nonetheless Goldsong rounds, pressing deeply into the flattened earth and charges in their general direction, your legs clutch to his sides as you ready your first arrow. It notches easy, a remembered motion upon your stead, a practiced movement as you draw and aim, they hadn’t seen you coming, too distracted by the Prince’s Resistance and their ambush. It had been the proper call to keep them in the shadows, picking off the few that ran and then coming in force if a true counter offensive had been born. Black shafted arrows fly from the surrounding woods, digging into their ranks and causing them to scramble about and attempt to counter themselves, a difficult task with the smoke clouding the already dark forest.

You let slip the first arrow, watching as it sails across the field and sinks itself into your target’s skull, the leather cap did little to protect him and his body slammed into the ground as a tree would from a woodsman’s axe. Blood runs into the grass below and you quickly pull another arrow from the quiver to your side, fingers brushing the shorter tattered arrow that had won your glory a year past. Goldsong presses into a circle about the group of archers with a quick dig of your spur into his side right, leaping over a body and continuing his stride with easy motions, you hadn’t yet gained their full attentions, a good sign on your end. You draw the bow to full length, a beautiful thing that drew so easily you could forget yourself at times, it had been a gift from Ser Symon Santagar for your wedding, a fine gift, though no doubt Curtis Flowers would still call to question the recurve nature of it. You steady yourself clutching again tightly to Goldsong, the old boy easing his motions into a single straight gallop as you did so. Breathe, aim, fire.
>>
For a moment time seems to slow, your and quick to the quiver again notching and readying as Goldsong presses into another rotation about them. The arrow flies true, catching the man in the shoulder, his bow falling to the ground and a scream of pain emanating from him, his allies look to him, a look of horror realized with the black shafted arrow grasped firmly between his fingers and soon realize they were under fire from another, the thin leader again screaming jabbing his finger in your direction. Apparently they knew you.

A volley of arrows flies your direction and you hug low against Goldsong, alternating your spurs in quick pinches to vary his stride, the horse hangs his own head low, keeping your overall profile low as he galloped across the field. Only one arrow even manages to strike true though dings off his barding resulting in little more than a slight flinch you ease into another rocking motion. The old boy knew your touch, he could feel your thoughts before it ever came to pass, war was as much his battleground as it was your own, those years spent in Essos only tempering his fears to the hell of it all. You pass into the woods for a moment, your serpentine movement obscuring your get away and allowing you to round in peace, a few of the Prince’s Resistance cheer for you as you pass by. It was dark as the Seven Hells in here, and your lungs filled quicker with smoke than air, your spurs dig into Goldsong urging him to round and travel back into the thick of it with haste. You stand straight again, holding your breath as you notch another arrow and aim towards the murky archers. You notice two of your arbalesters before you, Varras Sorrios being one as he called for his men to let loose on the melee your infantry resolving to a fighting retreat away from the fire. The volley of crossbow bolts slam into the bandits, cutting their forces down with ease.
>>
You burst from the forest and the the fog runs from the forest as you sight your next target aiming towards your Varras, you were ready for him. Quicker to the punch, your arrow drives across the field, cutting through the haze like a knife through butter and plants itself into his eye and flooring the man in short order, his arrow never having even left his bow. Again you assume a low profile, pulling another arrow from the quiver and pressing into a circle for another pass.

First: Success, four degrees.
Second: Success, three degrees.
Third: Success, three degrees.

The next shot was easy, the hum of the bow as it rebounding pleasing to your ears as your eyes watched the arrow sail right into a man’s heart. You had yet to tire from this exercise, it was something that brought you life once more, a sellsword’s tactic, round and harass, envelope your enemy and strike him down with a flurry of blows. Not the grand charge you suspect Lucas was employing further down the field with his Knights but just as effective you felt. Mason and the Sons come into view again opposite your own gallop, they had turned to focusing upon the archers as well. You watch Mason flick an order through the ranks as they press towards you splitting them open with a pathway large enough for you to pass through. You cock a half smile, Mason knew you better than any other in your army and knew how to accommodate for your more roguish tactics.

As the narrow sea of Sons opens for you pass you again flatten into your saddle, avoiding a volley of arrows that was return with another from your men. The pass was short, a man on either side, but just long enough for you notch and draw. Just as your last two men passed you sprung up, tightening your grip to Goldsong just long enough to aim, and fired a shot directly into the crowd of archers, burying it in the the man’s stomach and causing him to fall over in pain. Your smile hardly let’s up as you notch another arrow and then fall into the quick serpentine movements again before digging hard for a turn and another pass.

Between the Prince’s Resistance and your Sons the archers were quickly beginning to falter pockets formed from the Son’s movements, herding them into a figure eight as they weaved in and out, picking off their men in short order.
>>
Reward Quest is busy min maxing their banditry stat
>>
The tall man ordering them about had gotten caught in the middle of the closest group to you, his circle of archers hardly able to keep up with the quick movements of the Son’s and the continued at will shots of the forests around them. Another comes your way, grazing the small of your back, a lucky miss. You sit up, having caught the man who nearly struck you, as he looked on at horror at the hell around him. The night sky did little to aid your fire, but the fires that raged around you shone brightly in your eyes, an open faced helm allowing the wildfire to pierce through the veil of smoke and strike fear into the man’s heart. He hardly saw the arrow the came after before it caught him in the throat.

Mason had begun to focus on the larger group of men, allowing the smaller group with the likely captain of the outfit to your devices. He needed to go down, break their ranks entirely and any hope of remaining resistance in the process. You notch an arrow and dig deep into Goldsong’s side, causing the horse to wheel on the dime, his front legs raising as he screamed his own warcry into your charge. Eyes focus, burning bright with wildfire fueled by the raging inferno in your chest. You eye down your enemy, and charge.

First: Success, three degrees.
Second: Success, three degrees.
Third: Success, four degrees.

Fighting: Success, four degrees.

Goldsong’s gallop felt in tune with your heartbeat, the rapid sound of his heavy step beating in time with your heart as it fueled the fire in your chest. War had never scared you, it felt as natural as your beating heart, it was your purpose, for years it was the only time you felt true clarity. The touch of drink far from your lips instead only the taste of iron from the blood in your mouth, the pleasure of soft flesh replaced with the woolen undercoat and rough plates of your brigandine. Your arrow falls into place as you straighten again, your charge considered a death wish by those who did not know you. You lick your lips, the taste of a kiss focusing your mind again, a promise to be kept.

Your first arrow flies true, unwavering as it streaks across the field into your enemy, you would need to open a path, enough for Goldsong to get through and for you to enter untouched. The man crumples like paper falling to the side, his brothers-in-arms hardly able to close the gap. Another arrow flies from behind you, two, three, closing the gap before your charge, likely the Prince’s Resistance under Fairbanks’ orders having caught onto your purpose.

You hardly miss a beat as you ready another arrow, legs tight against Goldsong, the old boy’s head down as you charged ever forward. Breathe, aim, fire. The soft thrum of the bowstring was music to your ears, the scream of the man whose nose was skewered with the black shafted arrow a perfect harmony. More arrows fly in a death volley from the Sons as they round in their figure eight, crashing into the opposite side of your group of enemies. The tall man looks on with abject horror, his fears catching in his throat as the screamed orders become hoarse and crack.
>>
Eyes narrow, a moment’s time before you would crash into the remains of the archers. You palm an arrow, intending its target to be the man steadfast in your way. A final pinch into Goldsong’s side puts you to the man’s side, your leg freeing itself from the stirrup in an easy motion. Body readies, Goldsong’s muscles tense as he lowers his head into a full charge. Your bow finds itself in the quiver, a smoother swift moment that loosens your longsword in the process. Hand and foot steady against the saddle, and you leap. Body outstretched, an arm held forward with palmed arrow, and held closely against your chest. The archer had hardly seen you coming. You crash into him, forcing the arrow into his eye as he screams and cushions your fall. You drive it deep, feeling the edges dig into your knuckles as you fall into a tight roll, his body hitting the ground first, your own rolling across him and onto your feet in an instant.

Goldsong crashes into the opposite side of the archers, the spike upon his head finding purchase in a man’s chest as he thrashes about kicking and biting like a creature born of the Seven Hells. A quick glance behind shows the body of your enemy convulsing in its last death throw, your hand reaching to the sheathe upon your side and pulling the sword out in a single quick motion. Eyes focus again, emerald wildfire burning into your target's eyes, his mouth finally silenced for fear. Your body moves on its own, pressing itself off the ground like a spring as you fly across the gap, sword positioned to your side held by two hands. His armor was weak, your sword, striking true and digging into his gut before he can even react, you wrench it free with a spinning step, your back to Goldsong’s thrashing about, the captain’s back to you. His hands attempt to put the guts you just torn from his stomach back into their places, a desperate last attempt at life.
>>
His head turns, meeting with the hell that had just come upon him with fear, a dirk find its place in his hand, shaky, covered in fresh blood the crimson gleams in the raging fires around. And he leaps at you, screaming through bloody lips, spit and blood mixing with the rain upon your helmet, his last ditch effort to kill his attacker.

Success, three degrees.

His attack is clumsy, and you are faster, the dirk is meant for your face, but a quick step to the side sees that the only purchase it finds is air. He withdraws the knife, looking at you with madness in his eyes, body filled with adrenaline to numb the pain. Again he strikes, again, again, each time only finding the blade to reach into the thin smoke around you. The screams of pain and frustration mix in your ears as he bears down upon you, you allow the dance to continue, eyes hardly moving from his own, your motions a product of war rather than sight. He missteps, his arm find its way under your own, and he stumbles forward enough for you to get entirely into his guard and stop this pitiful waltz.

Your arm wraps around his own, the pommel of your sword quickly lashing into his elbow from the opposite hand, you feel the leather armor giving, the crack of bone as he screams into your face. The dirk falls to the ground behind you, sticking into the mud that had begun to form from the battle. Your helmet soon finds its places across his nose, a swift headbutt to shut up his continuous screaming. You allow his arm to slip free from your own, the mangled broken thing hanging limping at his side, the other hand attempting to stop the bleeding from his nose, nearly forgetting the intestine that had fallen to the dirt during the scuffle. His body shudders, eyes glazing over as they meet your own, the pulsing emerald fire that cut through the smoke like a lighthouse. Fear, fear of the hell he would soon depart to. His body goes limp and falls to the ground.
>>
You quickly wheel about on your heel, your sword held out ready for attackers, only to find the rest of the archers had ran after you planted one of their own with an arrow from your hand and then skewered their commanding officers not soon after. The arrows from the woods continued, cutting off their retreat, the Sons of Gold finishing off the last of their archers with rounding volleys and then turning to cut off the retreat of the remainder. You could see an arrow stuck into Mason’s arm, right into his shoulder, you knew he hated to wear anything but his platemail, likely he’d give you a hard time later when this was all said and done. The melee in the tents had ended and you watch the Arbalesters finish off what is left with a straight sweep, those bloody things were unreal to anyone born of Westeros. An eccentric's weapon they called it, but not today, you made the Myrish crossbow a weapon to be feared. Eyes gaze down the battlefield, watching your Knights cut through their cavalry again and again, nearly finished you guess. Lucas’ infantry is embroiled in another melee with what you assume to be the more veteran of the bandits.

Goldsong’s thrashing has stopped and he stomps around in a circle, nostrils flaring as you run over too him, quick to swing yourself into the saddle again. From this vantage you catch a rather large group fleeing from through a bloody swath of your First Regiment they had cut, the Sons in hot pursuit. And further down you see Lucas in his onyx plate going blow for blow with a man in dulled steel, helmetless his beard whipping about him as he swings his axe, likely the Tomas you had heard of before. Lucas rolls off to the side, narrowly dodging a hammer blow, his shield in tatters and his left side being obviously favored. You press into Goldsong’s sides rushing into…

A solid war lance attack. Mechanically speaking Brynden should be an ace when it comes to Tourney riding. I just liked that little quirk about him being shit at it.
>>
>>46674069
I like it as well, he's just not a tourney knight
>>
>>46674069
Gives him an actual serious flaw.
>>
>>46674069

>>
>>46674097
we have serious flaws,

If we would ever 1v1 duel someone average, or even worse dontos aka commit suicide. We could get our shit kicked in and never see our children again.

Also, yeah.
>>
>>46674197
Which is why we need to put some xp into that once we get the princewood situation under control
>>
>>46674273
Thats rather inefficient.
we are good at archery, we are going to get an dragon bone Bow, of godlike doom and destruction.
So instead of dubbeling down on that, we want to spread our exp thin?.

While we also need to put points into command, So we can lead our army effectively and if we focus on 1 aspect of combat namely archery and commanding. We are way more than an overglorified legolas/jaimie lannistar.
>>
>>46674367
We pretty much beat near on anyone in archery at this point anyway. While being really good at one skill is tempting, its not the most versatile, and we know we will be forced into melee at some point.
>>
>>46674367
Still in this world theres gonna be plenty of times we have to fight one on one, I'm not saying we try to become Jaime Lannister but we should still be at least a little above average
>>
I would be highly amused if we developed a custom trait representing our ability to unintentionally and completely by accident foil plans and plots like a Leslie Neilsen character.
>>
>>46674418
>>46674429
why don't we use the sellsword goodness?

>>
>>46671674
What would be the point of having the boy fostered somewhere else if we just have our own teachers go along with him?
>>
>>46674429
>>46674418

Yeah, i definetly see where you both are coming from. But any official fighting we can just name a champion, And whats going to stop us on a 1v1 duel. With no rules. If we have a dragon bone bow and high archery.

Unless we force ourself into a duel. I find it unlikely. And imagine somebody being shot by us with an arrow and then we'd use our weapon, he'd already have penalty dice.

Archery
Commanding armies
Persuasion

Would seem like better use of our exp.
>>
>>46674540
Father did the math behind it, i believe our chance to do win it was extremely small.
>>46674418
we are not definetly not a godlike archer, we had luck in the tournament.
If we spend some exp into archery first. your case would stand. But as it stands. i think we're not good enough.
>>
>>46674418
The full figure of speech is Jack of all trades, master of none. Being good at something makes it so you can still supplement in your lesser skills when even your area of expertise isn't able to do the job.
>>
Success, three degrees.

Your hand almost goes for the bow in your quiver, thinking to hunt down the routers before they became lost in the thick forest shrouded by night and smoke. But instead your eyes catch upon the man on man combat that Lucas has embroiled himself into. He fought for glory, you knew he did, in truth there was a part of you who dreamed of such yourself. Nary a dream some days across the Narrow Sea, but a reality. Small wonder you had remained alive, not very many old and bold sellswords about. Lucas was favoring his side heavily, barely able to keep out of the range of the larger man’s overhead and sweeping strikes. His axe usually buried itself into the ground, and was thick with mud at this point, and you could see the caked on imprint of where it had hit your Knight in the side while you were not looking.

Pressing your spurs into Goldsong you decide to aid Lucas in his battle, a footed man would be able to do little against a full length charge. The old boy settles into a gallop in a moment, your hand clutched upon your longsword rattling in its sheathe once more. Though for a moment you see another option, one you rarely used but all the same could, along your path a lance stuck unbroken into the ground, within hand’s reach. Perfect. Goldsong leans into the path, your arm wrapping and catching upon the heavy thing with a jerking motion that nearly unseats you. The war lance is heavy in your arm, and you swing it with a stiff rotation of your body in the saddle and get it under control as best you could in those fleeting moments before you crash into your target.
>>
>>46674563
I agree with you, stick to our strengths and improve what we really need to improve.

We have Lucas and Dontos for duels
>>
“Seven above,” you curse under your breath, the strain of the exercise being somewhat unfamiliar comparably, never one for targets or jousting. Felt like a fool’s way to war, a child’s practice to gain renown during peace. Others would point to Ser Barristan Selmy or even your uncle as examples otherwise but you hardly gave it a passing thought. No you would rather know how to use these things for war, how to fight, how to look your enemy in the eye and know that he would die.

You lock the war lance in place, allowing yourself to lean into Goldsong as you did so. Memories of the Tourney only a month pass flash in your mind, as Ser Cyrus Chyttering’s broken tangle of a body hung lifelessly in his saddle. No. You shake the thought from your mind and focus, singular, ready as you charge down Tomas in these last few fleeting moments.

The force of the crash causes your arm to ache, you can feel the shattering blow as it punctures the back of Tomas’ plate mail. The lance cracks in two and you feel the weight lifted from your arm, as the other piece sticks firmly into the falling man’s back. Your arm swings back, numb from the shock of the attack, and allows the rest of the lance to fall to the ground. Lucas looks to you with a look of mixed relief and annoyance before standing and examining the battlefield barking out orders for your Knights to encircle the area you now occupy. His infantry looks to be on cleanup duty now, checking the veteran bandits and cavalry for those still yet living and putting them out of their misery or gathering up the few alive enough to try for their crimes. Goldsong slows to a canter, rounding as you dig into his left side again, and to Lucas’ side.

“What happened to your horse Lucas?”
>>
“Ser Tomas here decided to cut the poor girl’s legs out from under her, took a nasty tumble, relatively certain I broke a rib on the way down,” he responds rubbing the back of his neck, allowing his helmet to fall to the ground before looking to you and adding, “Thanks for the assist my Lord. Had it under control though.”

Ser Tomas? So the bandit leader was a knight then, you wonder of whom's however. You cast an eye towards Ser Tomas splayed spread eagle and face down in the dirt his greataxe stuck in the mud a full length behind him, the half portion of lance aiming towards the sky. His hands still quiver and you can see the pool of blood beginning to form beneath him, his head raises to look at you, eyes half glazed and beard a ruin of blood and mud before rolling to his side with a painful groan. Ser Jon Pryor is upon him in a moment, his sword placed firmly against his neck to prevent any further movements.

Casting an eye about the field you see the battle is one, most of your men either on clean up, or chasing after those that run. You had a poor feeling in the pit of your stomach at least a few would escape. The First Regiment looks to have taken the worst of it, Rafe Roper looks to have maybe half as many men as before, and you could see the mess of Malroy colors mixed in with the bandits where original melee had started. Overall though, the battle had been a rousing success, you lost little, and killed nearly 300 men with ruthless efficiency. Ser Tomas looked to be on his last legs, though likely worth a word if you wished it, otherwise you could lead your Knights and the Arbalesters on manhunt for those few left hiding in the woods.

>>
>>46674670
ok so you want us to be all and nothing and the others want to be few and best. So here's my plan I think we should focus on both longsword and archery as well it just makes sense a archer is fucking dead if in a Melle situation and a longsword man is dead in a ranged situation so how about we focus on archery with a dab of longsword on the side. About every two skill points we put in archery we put one in longsword

We need warfare so battles like this can go better. Although I'm sure one of our subordinates is much better than we are already.
>>
>>46674893
I mean besides the commanding persuasiony stuff we don't want to get fucked in a Melle and we don't want to get fucked in ranged combat, but were more likely to do the former than the later

Alright, so we're going to go on a bit of a manhunt. Let me stretch and take the dog out real quick and I'll get to writing.

>>46674893
When I simmed the battle it was over literally in one round. Tomas didn't even get to issue orders it was such a crushing defeat. Brynden has a Warfare of 5 with a bonus die in Command he is bar none the best commander in his House, with Dontos and Mason shortly there after. In truth, the only thing that could have gone better was the First Regiment not getting their shit pushed in by the Archers. That's literally it. It was an absolute demolishing.

“Lucas, question Ser Tomas. I want names, dates, locations, numbers. Anything you can get out of him. Once he’s dead see to the rest of the men, Captain Rafe looks to be in a bad place, round up the rest of those still alive, have your infantry keep them in check until Mason and I return,” you command allowing Goldsong to round with little steps, eyes gazing about the field.

“What of the bodies? The rest of the camp?”

“Dig a ditch, burn the bodies in it, check what parts aren’t burnt out for information and burn the rest of it. I want this place salted and forgotten.”

“Yes Brynden. It shall be done,” Lucas says, giving you a firm nod and limping his way over to Ser Tomas. Jon Pryor crosses past him and looks up to you.

“Orders my Lord?”

“Round up the Knights, and get the Arbalesters, we’re going on a manhunt,” you state firmly, eyes now focused upon the woods.

---

Your Household Knights spread out to create as large a blanket as possible, between them pockets of the Arbalesters, Vargas Sorrios is closest to you, quietly creeping alongside your horse, crossbow at the ready. You have an arrow notched, held at the ready in one and, the other carefully guiding Goldsong through the thick forest heavy with fog, and damp with rain. There is a slight commotion ahead of you, like Mason and the Sons still attempting to run down those left while you and your men attempt to smoke out those in hiding. It was not an idle situation, not by a long shot. Your ears rang from the commotion of battle, the smoke and rain had caused a thick fog to form in the upper reaches of the forest, and most sounds were obscured by the heavy rain that now fell upon your men. Even in good humor a crushing defeat would bring could be dampened by a manhunt in the darkest recesses of the Princewood in such conditions, morale would soon falter if you did not come up with results.

You see a man running your way and pull up your bow, drawing and catching him in your sights. He freezes and begins to wave his arms frantically, hiding behind a tree to escape your sight before yelling he’s with the Prince’s Resistance. Not the most clever of men, bad enough the clunking of armor and barding, along with horses in this thick mess of trees but now your men were yelling like idiots, and more so getting in your line of fire, like idiots. You wave him forward with a flat look upon your face, and he dashes over, huddling close to your horse and shivering, “Milord. Fairbanks’ says to turn back, we gots all we can.”

“All we can is not acceptable soldier,” you respond with a stern tone, eyes still fixed upon the darkness before you, “We search until first light, then return to the camp, understood.”

The boy looks up to you with a dejected look and nods giving you a, “Yes Milord, understood,” before running back into the thick of it. Vargar comes up next to your horse and shoulders his crossbow, running a hand across his nose, “Lord, we ain’t got a chance not in this mess. I know you don’ wanna listen to the greenhorns, but you know good as I do it’s a wasted effort and morale is 'bout to break out here in these pissin' woods.”

You frown deeply, half from wishing to listen and look uninterrupted, the other knowing he spoke at least partial truth. You stop Goldsong, casting a look about one more, bow at the ready.

Suggest to make a perimeter on the far outskirts and then search inside when its dawn.

(we basically surround the area, and when its daylight we start going from the outside to the inside, in search of men. That way nobody can report what happend.)

Just leave perhaps 30-25 men to do this, and with the rest we continue onwards.

First: Failed
Second: Success, one degree.
Third: Failed.

You run a hand through your hair, damp silver from the heavy rain, and continue to look into the forest, straining your eyes in want of something a reason to continue this mess. The fire in your chest had begun to dim, the rage of battle having subsided from the ever present darkness. You flick your wrist and give Vargar leave to call the bloody thing off, sending a man into the darkness to retrieve the Prince’s Resistance and your Sons. You linger for awhile long, looking about the forest with the soft hum in your ear, then your eyes catch a shadow, a movement in the upper trees, too large to be a woodland creature, to unpracticed to be anything else than human. You half draw your bow, urging Goldsong forward with the slightest touch. You watch carefully, a leaf falling a branch cracking, then the snap of a branch having sprung back in place, the tree next to it shaking as if something had landed, then another and another. Whoever was up there had saw you and was now running, as fast as he bloody well could.

Goldsong breaks into a quick trot, deftly avoiding the roots and bramble even in the pitch darkness, you leading him wit your legs more than your arms, your bow resting half cocked between them, eyes constantly attempting to find which tree he had gone to next. He’s at least three ahead of you by now, though it is a difficult run, your horse is unsure of his footing and is swiftly falling behind. Then he slips, just enough for you to catch the faint outline of a leg, the muffled voice of peril, you’re quick on the draw, arrow drawn fully and fired in half a second, catching his leg and eliciting a voice of pain. You smile inwardly, caught you you fucking bastard though it is quickly washed away by the sight of the trees again moving ahead of you.

Argument of argumenting aside a was thinking about the skills we will want our children to cultivate also I'm presuming the first child is a boy

1st Born basically victors education

With evryone else I say that men get marshal/melee education and the women get a coin/merchant/learned education alongside something like a bit of skill with a sword/bow because Brynden will not stand for anyone in his family being helpless in a defcon 4 situation
>>
“Seven a-fucking-bove,” you curse and press forward again notching another arrow. The trees have grown heavier, Goldsong refuses more steps than he takes and eventually you find yourself lost, trees hardly moving sans the breeze from the storm that had rolled in. You strain your eyes looking as hard as you can, he was injured, perhaps near dead. You could have caught him. Slamming the arrow back into the quiver you round and look for the distant dimming fire and head back without your prize.

---

The ditch looked to be well under way as you arrived, the bodies of the dead having been searched for valuables and then dumped as you’d expect. Your own dead were under cloth upon the side where a small makeshift camp had been built for your own forces, be your guess there was at least 60 dead, mostly of the First Regiment. The fires had all but gone out by now and your eyes tell you there is little and less here that would be of use to your case against the Red Bastard. A part of you wishing you had stayed to question Ser Tomas yourself. Entering the small camp you find Lucas and Ser Hotho Rambton talking to a white faced Rafe Roper who can hardly look you in the eyes, Mason who is sitting on a stump with Yondril over him attempting to patch up his arm the best they could in the field. Vargar and Fairbanks are to the side, talking shop about the debacle of a manhunt. You call them all over around the sad little campfire and begin to take stock of the situation.

Alright so updated results:
Lucas's interrogation: Success, one degree.
Mason's manhunt: Success, two degrees.
The Prince's Resistance's manhunt: Failed.

And looks like we're going to go with Anon's suggestion and leave a perimeter sweeping force for the morning. Going to need a vote on who to leave however:

Alright The Prince's Resistance it is. They're probably the best suited for the job, so that'll do just fine, and Fairbanks is unlikely to want to go into such heavy warfare again so soon.

So, quick break on my end. That was a lot going on there, we've never done mass combat like that before, so I hope you guys enjoyed it. The quick and easy of it is, I simulated the battle beforehand, and left notes where Brynden could intervene to change the results. Had he helped the in the Melee the First Regiment wouldn't have lost so many men. Had he decided to help Lucas and his men at first, Lucas wouldn't have lost his horse and gotten so beat up. Had he not attacked Bowen the Bower he would have escaped to bring word to the main camp. So small results to effect the overall picture.

As I said before this was an absolute rout, someday I'll share the sims with you guys, but in the first round of Brynden's command alone, he destroyed two units entirely. Brynden won initiative by a mile, and his the more Veteran forces absolutely crushed the green and trained forces of the bandits. So yeah, I think it worked out pretty well for you guys.

Comments and constructive criticism welcomed while I get a beverage and then set up the next scene.

it was good wouldn't want it to be the norm but it was good nonetheless
>>
>>46676804
Disregard this I suck cocks. Didn't see the answer to that exact question in your rundown of the fight
>>
>>46676796
Because I vetoed it.

Long version.
Dice values would be reduced due to lower amount of men to properly carry out their units task.
No central command that is capable of dealing with the mix of the three units without leaving someone like Mason or Lucas behind. Men better spent elsewhere.
And taking 33 men from the Arbalesters leaves with them with 17, crippling the unit under your command.

That's why, not arguing it. Wasn't an option for a reason.

>>46676804
The rulebook stats that "heroes", what Brynden basically is, can take on groups of a unit alone, for every 10 men killed, the unit loses a point of health. So mechanically that is what Brynden's counter sniping did. By the time Mason rolled his command to murder fuck the Archers, they were down to 2 Health, and then he did 14 more damage, 2 over their base Health and enough to destroy the unit entirely.

Fluff wise it saved Rafe Roper, he would have died had Brynden decided to do something else. He didn't make the best decisions overall, they were the only ones to mechanically fail to attack in the round under Brynden's control.
>>
>>46676741
You almost have the sweet spot with this mass combat. Its very easy and enjoyable to read, its from the main character perspective and not constantly switching so there is that choatic randomness of battle feeling.

So to say it easier
Enjoyable
Easy to read
Good narrative/perspective
Good use of real life tactics.

Bad things
We as the readers/rollers don't really have a feel of how much of an impact we made during that decision. If say, you had mentioned that the archer shoot an barrage and killed atleast XX amount of our soldiers.or describe our soldiers being hailed by arrows or had made more clear what kind of threat they were from brynden perspective. He's an decent archer so he could've had some insight to what kind of devestation they could've done left untouched. we as the players could feel good knowing we stopped that. Now its. We stopped the archers but were the archers really a threat?, seeing we lost alot of good men at the first regiment.

For the rest this was perfect.
Tried my best to give good constructive critism, i hope it helps.

Signed. Mr tilt alot
>>
>>46676906
Huh. Well we had no way of predicting that the Archers wouldn't have gotten a chance to bring their weapons to bear before getting hatefucked by our vets, good simulation of fog of war and lack of ability to predict. The Archers were the potential biggest source of casualties so I don't mind that we wasted some time trying to neutralize them.
>>
>>46676936
Well the archest actually didn't manage to lay down any volleys before our sniping and Mason's vets raped them. We know from experience and common sense though that leaving archers the chance to fire barrages would have done serious damage: that's why we killed them before they did.
>>
>>46677022
I know we as the players know that,
I assume most of us know alot about medieval warfare and what damage couldve happend.

But i find the in char as brynden thougt process or details of it lacking, we all know the threat but the threat wasn't explained or delved on.
>>
>>46676863
We'll be having a string of it for a few threads, interrupted by some stuff back home and the Tourney in Highgarden before we're back at it again with the Longwaters and their pirates.

Unlikely to become the norm, but it will show up a bit more now that we're in the stretch of dealing with Royce.

>>46676936
Thank you for that, good points all. I'll try to do better with that in the future and I'll make a conscious effort to attempt to do a bit more of that and explain the peril of it all. I will say, I tried to make the 'fog of war' a bit thicker just because we were being a single attacker in a sea of hell, rather than leading a unit ourselves. But I see your point.

>>46676982
That's basically what I was going for. Archers are dangerous in this setting, the Sons prove that enough alone. No real way to know that they would be the ones to get their shit together the quickest, so it made sense for the master archer, Brynden, to predict that they may become a problem and lay into them.

>>46677022
They did actually, order of initiative was: Brynden, Bowen the Bower, Mason, Lucas, Ser Tomas Stone. Only reason they managed to get their shit together was because the Prince's Resistance didn't do much damage to them in their ambush, and Mason went after Bowen.

They did 6 damage to the First Regiment in their only round of combat, reducing them to 3, thus the healthy loses.

Anyway, going to begin writing now. Thank you all for the comments.
>>
A victory! Perhaps a turning point
>>
Lucas: Success, one degree.
Mason: Sucess, two degrees.
The Prince’s Resistance: Failed.

“Lucas, what did our Ser Tomas know?”

“Not much Brynden,” he says taking a seat next to Mason and holding his bandaged side, “Says he was from the Vale, some pisshole called Bilesworth or something, bastard of the late Lord I guess. Place went to shit after the Rebellion and he took up a contract work with The Bright Banners in Essos before ending up over here. Hardly been here a couple months, three or four he said. Said his orders were simple, round up the villagers out here in bumfuck nowhere and send them back to the ruined hall up north. He had his pick of the lot for ‘personal use’, and that was about it. Hadn’t a clue about the slavery, hadn’t received coin since his arrival and everyone went dark on them about a month ago.”

“Dark?”

“Yeah, said he hasn’t heard a word from this ‘Captain Aeror’ in the main camp for about a month. Last time they sent the people up there no supplies or his men returned.”

“Could be that the main head’s are trying to distance themselves from the outer lying hands, less of a trail to lead back to Royce before they all disappear and we’re left with as much proof of the slavery ring as we had before,” Mason offers, wincing as Yondril digs out the arrow head with his little hook knife.

You nod along not quite sure of your own thoughts on the matter, though knew that it likely meant they were aware you were going to be active immediately and were clearing out the smaller camps first. It made you feel better that you had decided to spread your forces a bit thinner and strike all three of the smaller camps at once, give them less time to react and pull out while your men infested the forest all around. You would need to strike fast, and quickly to get the maximum out of this operation, even if it meant going in with less than was the ideal.

“Mason how did your manhunt fare?”
>>
“Well enough- Seven be good Yondril, you’re a medic not a butcher… Yeah well enough, we tracked down most of the lot that broke the First Regiment’s ranks. Few scattered or hid, but not enough, my guess is Wesley’s boys will pick them out during his sweep of the place and when they establish a perimeter ‘round the main camp.”

“And you Fairbanks?”

“Not much doing my Lord. My people were too spread out around the main camp to come together so quickly. My apologies. I would offer my services in sweeping the the area in the morning, my people know these woods the best, we can flush those few left out.”

You nod, “Deal Fairbanks, perform your sweep and then take your people north to meet with Ser Wesley Hayford’s troops. You will help them look for stragglers and then establish the perimeter, understood?”

“Yes my Lord.”

You cross your arms and nod, the water dripping from your nose as you turn to look over what is left of the forces, perhaps 30-40 men. None of any worth to be ransomed back, Vargar and Lucas’ men stand guard around them, the crossbows holding them hostage, their knees sank into the mud, battered bodies and face all around.

“What you want to do with that lot, Lord?” Vargar asks giving them half a glance, “I’d put ‘em to work digging the rest of that ditch and burying their dead. Then place a nice bolt between the eyes, dropping them with the rest.”

“Put them to work in Steadhold,” Mason says, “Hard labor, the walls always need more people. Chain-gang them their for their crimes, then off to Wall when we’re done.”

“Could always conscript them,” Rafe says with a meek voice, “First Regiment needs men, my boys can look after them.”
>>
You frown looking the prisoners over, thinking to yourself they’d be better dead, but you could put them to purpose.

“Round them up and have them sent back to Steadhold. Hard labor is the only suitable punishment for them. Then off to the Night’s Watch,” you say breaking your eyes away from the pitiful group, “Remind me to send a letter to Lord Commander Qorgyle, when this is done, I’m certain we could play host to a Night’s Watch recruiter in a few months time.”

“As you say Brynden,” Mason responds, again wincing as Yondril pulls the needle in and out of his wound. Your bloody field medic was good at his job, knew how to make it hurt the least, odd that he was also your go to for making it hurt the most.

“Ser Hotho, report on the camp, anything of particular worth here?” you yell over to the Captain of Lucas’s infantry.

Ser Rambton crosses from the prisoners and bows his head before speaking to you, “Nothing of significance my Lord. A few dozen women and children used as camp followers, and everything you can imagine that entails. Plan is to send them back with Fairbanks’ people, they’ll know who is who and smoke out the spies. The half burnt reports we found says their last shipment of villagers was two weeks ago. No cages, no chains, nothing to suggest they were rounding them up but those. Otherwise, no coin, useless arms and armor, and half as much rations as people. That’s about the only thing worth taking my Lord.”

Again you find yourself frowning, water streaming down your face at this point in the etched lines of your frustration, “Very well, secure them and bring it with us.”

“As you say my Lord,” Ser Rambton responds, banging his fist against his chest before returning to his task.

“Where do you intend to go next Brynden?” Lucas asks as you turn back to your group, “Wesley’s sweep up north could probably use the extra help, get their early and set up a real perimeter they won’t so easily break if they try to run away. Wait for Dontos and Lord Qorgyle to arrive then attack en masse.”
>>
“They’d only see us coming with so many men surrounding them. More likely they’d slash and burn the evidence,” Mason retorts, “Head back to base camp, meet with Lord Qorgyle and his brother’s forces. Gather what intel we can from them then charge the ruined hall as one.”

“Or travel west, link up with House Chelsted and Ser Dontos,” Vargar says, “They’ve got the muscle and siege engines to tear down their little fort in the woods. We have the men to flank and beat them. We’ll cut off their retreat to that bloody bastard’s hold too coming in from the west.”

Again your assembled war council looks to you for answers, they looked half dead now, ready for sleep, drenched to the bone. Best to see this done and make proper camp for the night before your men’s morale is broken from the conditions.

“We’ll head west, linking up with House Chelsted’s forces and my uncle, Dontos,” you say coming to a decision, “Their siege engines, will be invaluable against whatever they have waiting for us at the ruined hall.”

A nod of rounds go around and your men finally break off to give the days remaining orders, you can see the faces of your men lift as the orders begin to fly to make camp and rest until the rain had past the next day, at least you hoped it would. Dry men were happier men than those soaked to the bone, particularly for an army that was relatively new to being a proper army. Rafe is the last to go, eyes staring blankly at the smouldering remains of the fire. You had instructed him to take the remains of the First Regiment back to base camp, recruit what they could and return to the field, green as goose shit or not, likely to join with House Qorgyle’s forces. You sit next to him, taking a swig of your cask, allowing the warmth to fill your chest and offer him the same that he takes with a nervous hand. He takes a sip and nearly chokes on causing you to laugh and him to only look more dejected.

“My sister is dead milord. She was the only family I had left, I use to send her money when I was a Gold Cloak and she’d send me letters in return from Branton. I got worried when I moved to Steadhold she didn’t know where to send the letters and hadn’t heard from her months. But I kept sending the money anyway. Hoping she’d be aight. I… I failed her milord. It ate me, and I got reckless here, my men died because I was too worried ‘bout meself and the family I’d lost. It’s my fault the First Regiment now lies half dead.”
>>
You place a hand on his shoulder, “The first step is admitting your faults Captain. You made a mistake but you knew when to pull out of the melee, you saved more men on a fighting retreat. Clarity in war is difficult, it takes everything I have to swallow the worry for my own sister and family when I am here. You haven’t failed your sister Captain, not yet, not unless you abandon your post, give up the fight.”

“I wouldn’t milord, I couldn’t-,” he stumbles out looking at you with a hint of fear.

“Then don’t Rafe, you’re a good man and I’m proud to call you one of my own. Get back home and regroup. Rebuild, I expect to see you out there again and hear reports of the Captain I know you are. Is that understood soldier?”

“Yes sir, milord. Understood. And… Thank you.”

You leave Rafe off a moment later after taking another round of drinks, and pouring some out in honor of the dead and make break for your own tent. Hardly drier than it was outside but at least you had some reprieve from the rain, enough to strip out of your clothing and put something warmer on. You stand by the brazier in your tent, warming yourself while reading the damp half burnt reports that Ser Hotho Rambton had brought to you. Nothing of particular reports, numbers of people being sent to the main camp, supplies in return. Hardly worth anything outside of the people. Numbers ranged from the twenties to the tens, small groups at a time, for what purpose you did not know. Your eyes begin to grow heavy the longer you stare at them and you find yourself wanting of sleeping soon enough. The small cot is nothing like the warmth and comfort of your bed in Steadhold, but for some reason it is comfort beyond what you would expect and your body quickly remembers the nights slept upon such things in Essos, lulling you to sleep in a quick moment, the last thoughts of the sweet honey upon your lips.

The rain had let up by noon the next day, and while your men were still majorly wet you decided to press on to the northwest, majorly avoiding any of the known paths and meeting with little resistance. You have your men send a field raven to Dontos’ and his host, finding they were on the march east to establish a base came some ways off from the perimeter where you’d meet them. Lady Alexes had sent 540 men with her new Lord Protector, and 4 small catapults that had done the majority of the heavy lifting in sieging out the Hill’s Camp. Their battle had been hard won with the makeshift walls, watchtowers, and singular approach, but not so much that Dontos had found it difficult rather he took his time, and besieged the place for the better part of three days.

During your march to link up with your Uncle you were given a small moment of time to speak with Yondril and learn the results of his time with Lady Marcelline Sand.

“She was not so hard a nut to crack my Lord,” he says riding alongside you tall and proud as ever, “A night with my knife had been enough, she spoke more highly of herself than she was worth.”

“The results then?”

“The Iron Bank my Lord, as a collateral for a loan. I can’t imagine what they would do with such funds, though they have had little success thus far I am told. Their price too steep, and the Iron Bank too mistrusting. Royce Redward sends an envoy as we speak to meet with them in person, and show the true worth of the egg.”

“Meaning..?”

“Meaning my Lord, in short. The egg is across the Narrow Sea, surrounded by guards of your sworn enemy along their way to the headquarters of the Iron Bank, in Braavos.”

“Seven bloody hells.”

If this ruined Hall is in any kind of repairable condition, we should look to restoring it in the future. Could be a good seat for a banner house, or at the very least a garrison.
>>

We're just popping their cherry for what they get up at Castle Black. If anything it'll make'em more loyal to the Nights Watch since doing that is better then being in the Steadhold's hands.

I like it. A quiet people is a trait to be desired in your lands. Don't get caught doing crime in Malroy lands or you're gonna be working a hoe for them.
>>
So that's that today, beginning of the Invasion of the Princewood. Next thread we'll be talking strategy and beginning to besiege the Ruined Hall.

After that we'll do some clean up, see what happened elsewhere in the Princewood and then return home, to do what? Meet a bouncing baby you'll see.

Anyway, a lot different stuff going on tonight, glad to see it went off relatively well. Thanks for playing as always.

Next thread is Sunday, 17 April at 3PM EST. Bit later start time because I'll be having guests over the night prior.

Going to archive and I'll be back for comments and questions as always.

Thanks Dad for running, you are the best!
>>
>>46679735
Thanks Father! So I'm going to be reading the archive should I expect the war of the five kings to have started yet, or are we still safely within Robert's Reign as King?
>>
>>46679834
Good lord no. Not even close, we're only in year 286 AC
>>
Why I am in different timezone?
>>
nice tweest.
>>
>>46679735
Thanks for running Dad. How mad is Royce Waters right now, with Isis safe in Kings Landing and most of his land taken away from him?
>>
Well it would be easy to get the Iron Bank to deny that loan. We could send them a letter telling them about the slave ring. Not like they'll care enough to tell the King
>>
>>46680129
Come to the next quest friend that is a golden idea. Bravosi hate slavery since they are a city of escaped slaves
>>
I've been wondering, how did House Benedorn fare with the outcome of the war?
Maybe once we've secured our position here, we could send feelers through him to get a small network to make some shekels?
>>
>>46680626
That is a good point, but we should be extremely careful with that information. We just cannot spread it around easily.
>>
>>46680703
The Rebellion you mean? Pretty well all things considered, it's the only reason Archie is getting even a moment with the Estermont girl.

>>46680626
While very true, there is a small thing, Brynden has a couple enemies in Braavos. He's not a particularly well loved sellsword there.
>>
>>46680878
Unless Brynden did something EXTREMLY noodleincidenty there's no way the Iron Bank knows or gives a shit about a sellsword getting up to shenanigans years ago
>>
>>46680626
Plus there's the fact that the Crown will exterminatus the fuck out of Redward and anyone remotely involved(that includes us so dead-man-switch only) if they catch wind, so we can spell it out that there's no possible way that Redward will be able to pay the Bank back seeing as if he uses that war loan and starts winning we WILL be able to take him with us no matter what

he fucked the sister of someone really important I don't know the name something about 1 and sword it think?

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-plan b anybody
>>
>>46681178
He slept with the First Sword of Braavos', at the time, sister. Then had a nice little manhunt during his time in Braavos, he never returned there after. May or may not be an outstanding bounty on Brynden's head if he ever steps foot in the city again.

>>46681148
It's a sticky situation, while Royce is being bankrolled by Osten right now the greedy bastard wants more, and he is damn dangerous right now. Particularly because of how angry he's getting with Brynden's actions. He gets funds from the Iron Bank, well there might be some problems.

How about "Put Obella on it, if she's not too busy"?

>>46681310
Yes. Unless i'm completely misremembering, Braavos practically gets its name from its Bravos - an entire social movement that focuses on duelling.

The 'best' Bravo usually ends up becoming the bodyguard of the Sealord (their Ruler) and occupies a sort of Hand-of-the-King position.

They get called The First Sword of Braavos.
>>
>>46681310
>The First Sword of Braavos is the chief protector of the Sealord of Braavos (the ruler of Braavos). Thought to be the finest swordsman in Braavos, however he is often chosen because he is the most observant of the Bravos, and most able to protect him from threats seen, and unseen.
Pretty much the Braavosi kingsguard.
>>
>>46681383
I think Obella will be rather busy for the next month or two.
>>
>>46681310
Kinda, it's the title they gave to the bodyguard of the ruler of Braavos.
The 1st sword is chosen because he's good at fighting but even more so because he's good at seeing when and where shit can happen.

Though that one didn't manage to see Brynden creep up to his sister and give her a bit of lovin'.

ok defcon egg situation aside what are ya guys opinions on the education of the kids id like to go what >>46676224 said

>How about "Put Obella on it, if she's not too busy"?
Not a terrible idea, Obella might have some contacts over there, for a price.

>>46681443
>Though that one didn't manage to see Brynden creep up to his sister and give her a bit of lovin'.

Yeah that's the beauty of the story. My friend and I made it up while having some drinks. It was funny as hell.

What is this, Crusader Kings?

Just find someone diligent with good martial and stewardship and call it a day.
>>
>>46681727
Agreed. No need to micromanage our kids statsheet, just get someone competent and go with something wellrounded that emphasizes their natural talent
>>
>>46681796
Like we did with Victus.

>the absolute state of the posters in this thread

Shitposters please go, I don't want you ruining my favorite quest.
>>
>>46683725
Tis unfortunate that this quest got popular. Now we're suffering for it.
>>
>>46683725
>>46683735
There have been shitposters from the beggining. I do say there has been a dramatic increase of it though. Especially in the last few threads.
>>
>>46683889
The argument that occurred halfway through the thread was literally unreadable. I understand english isn't everyone's first language but that was absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the sheer amount of people talking out their own asses and having zero understanding of the character, the system or how stats work. It was infuriating shitposty.
>>
>>46683725
Shitposting is only effective if there's someone to respond to it. Because people respond to the shitposters that give them the go ahead to continue.

Sure, a shitposter could samefag all day long but in the end he'll stop because no one would take his baits.

Stop replying to shitposters and while they won't go away, they won't be that active. Look at Banished when Soma is on top of his game, the amount of shitpost is negligible. Sad thing is that he's been steadily declining in post update and that made the ratio of shitpost grows.
