It seems we are once again at peace. The Hong Financial Restructure is done for the foreseeable future, and at least our client did get a permanent downsizing.

While the city returns to a simulacra of normalcy, we can focus our attention on clearing our backlog. I've despatced agents Hedgehog and Armadillo group to handle a matter of some urgency. As luck would have it, we were contracted shortly afterwards on a secure channel and offered a sizable sum to locate and find a missing person named Teraline.

Following previous investigations, we have uncovered the approimate location of forty-seven seperate disapperance cases over the last months. Morgues and hospital records do not account for the sum total, and so we forced to conclude that our client for this, along with several other people, have likely had a terminal encounter with something insidious.

The lack of wide-spread panic given the swathe of disappearances is likely because media coverage has been low, with the Hong Financial Affair devouring airtime. Nonetheless, we would expect some actiity on the social networks. Since this hasn't been the case, we're dealing with an organized cartel with informational control capabilities.

So we've opened the armory on this one, you'll find our available equipment in the file.

We'll drop you in the local area, at a bar Teraline was known to frequent. It's a low key, rustic place and you can scope it out for any suspecious persons or other clues. In the meantime, Liren will run the data-backlog and we'll see what comes up.

We don't know for sure who is targetting people, and we don't know entirely their capabilities, so I advise you to display some caution in opening firing a civilian environment unless you're specifically fired upon first.

Now, there is something to note.

One is that Teraline was apparently running an anthropological study of mythos formation in the refuge camps, and likely spent a lot of time talking to people in the local bar. If you ask around - or display their picture - you'll likely encounter some information fairly rapidly.

Also, while we don't have any scan capability in the local area we do have some readings for the local grid and the electricity consumption for that quadrant is rather out of sync with the habitation profile.

It seems unlikely that d metal sheet town eats enough energy to run a factory.

[Burst] X is "X increments under your success is +1 hit"
[FA X] is "Full Auto X, roll *this* many dice when attacking, they all count"
[Shock] is "This weapon has electricity, it'll deal more damage to shock vulnerable targets and likely stun+knockdown+paralyze standard humans (random chance)"
[Bounce X] is " if hits, jumps to any nearby if applicable, to max of X"
[Heat] is "This weapon doesn't rely on ammo, it builds a heat charge on use. Heat goes down by 10 a turn or 10 per action spent venting. Heat 100 is... bad"

No need, Agent - we're an agency, not a scavenger company barter shop.

You can keep your old stuff, and take as much "new" stuff as can fit in your pockets (which is 4 things and a gun, or five guns, or...). You can even mix and match when you go out into the field.

Toss the rest of that gear into your lockbox or safehouse, you're bound to find a use for it.

A RiotLock is indeed a shock gun. It's meant to induce crippling seizures on any rioters in order to lock them down. Fire it and it'll deliver an uncomfortable amount of electricity to who-ever you're aiming at, anyone standing nearby, and most people around the corner too.

No good against shielding though, it just gets absorbed.

And if you're sporting a TacNet, it does nothing on its own. But if someone you're with have one, you can link up and get +1 Accuracy, improved situational awareness and communicate instantly with messsages, audio and text!

Some weapons require a tac net, even. But none of that this go around.

The Custodi are custom-made pieces we got from a lucky break scrounging through a pawn-store. Originally they were made to celebrate the succes of the Seniral Minoris Rehabiliation System 16 years or so ago.

They're meant to be fired in space.

They don't use bullets, they generate a charge when you pull the trigger and fill someone with a hyper-velocity speck of metal. Practically limitless ammo, at the cost of a fairly heavy grip. It builds up heat every shot, and if you don't let it vent it overheats and will likely take out your hand. Werenhofff was considered selling the lot. Apparently they're worth something in the nine digit range?
