Hello one and all, and welcome to Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Quest. A quest inspired by the incredibly weeaboo series Dangan Ronpa. You like killing games like Battle Royale? You like Murder Mysteries? You just might enjoy this quest! (I make no guarantees though.) This Quest is set at the prestigious Yggdrasil Academy International, where a mysterious set of circumstances unfold.

Before we begin, you have to decide on who you are, and before you can decide that, I'll have to explain about Yggdrasil Academy International. Yggdrasil Academy is a prestigious boarding school catering to a specific set of secondary school students gathered from four countries: The United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and the United States. There are two main entry requirements for this academy. One, students must already be attending secondary school, and be at least 16 years of age. Two, students must be the absolute best at a specific talent out of the combined student body of the four countries listed above. There is no way to apply to Yggdrasil Academy. The only way in is for the school itself to scout you. Because all students attending the academy have something they specifically are the absolute best at, they are referred to by a specific title.

Omegas.

As they're the complete end-point when it comes to students in pursuit of that talent, it's only fitting to call these end-points of talent Omegas. After all, there's no surpassing an Omega.

Our Protagonist, Zachary Lineman, is the Omega Actor. Having woken up to discover himself trapped inside by metal plates, he proceeded to explore the ground floor, meeting 14 other Omegas from his class. However, while meeting the last three, he heard the sound of a school bell...
>>
There's a crackle of static in the air, coming from the P.A system speakers you see embedded in the walls. But before long, an oddly high-pitched voice rings out through the speakers. "Hello? Hello? Is this thing on? Testing testing testing testing! Man, this a pretty terrible P.A system! Anyway, please gather in the courtyard as soon as possible! C'mon, hop to it!"

The voice sounds so completely and totally carefree, that it seems so out of place in this weird situation. Edward, Becky and Rose all have puzzled looks on their faces.

What do you do?

Head to he courtyard, if they got access to the P.A. they either found something or know more than we do
>>

>>
>>46951182
To the courtyard. Time to meet Faith.
>>
You head to the courtyard, with the other three trailing behind. As you open the double doors, you notice that everyone you met over the course of your investigation is present. In total, there's fifteen of you, like Quentin said. They're all gathered in front of the announcement podium you spotted earlier. You walk over to them and give a brief hello. Becky looks from student to student with one eyebrow raised. "So, who called the announcement?"

Quentin shrugs. "That's the thing. None of us did. And I don't think it was one of you four either, right?"

Edward tosses his hair and shakes his head. Becky scribbles something down on her notepad. Steven cracks his knuckles menacingly. "So if it wasn't one of you clowns, who in the hell was it? C'mon, one of you bastards oughta know. Speak up!"

Juliet scowls and points at Steven. "Lessen that attitude of yours, Private! You will be briefed when all the necessary data has been gathered! NOW STAND AT ATTENTION!"

Steven yelps and does exactly what Juliet says. Looks like he doesn't have that much backbone. Juliet turns to face you. "Now, Lt. Lineman! Report!"

You snap to attention, give a salute, and report. "Sir! All field agents located, Sir! No current available escape routes discovered sir!

She gives you an approving smile. "Very good soldier. You can give me the details at the debriefing. Keep it up and you'll go far. Now, let's see what we can do about the unsanctioned communications broadcast that was recently transmitted."

Juliet begins to head towards the podium, but before she could take more than a few more steps, something black and white jumps out from behind it. "Man you guys are slow! I was going to wait until you all got here, but I've been waiting for AGES and I'm sick of it! So I guess we'll start right now!"

The black and white thing seems to have landed on top of the podium. On further inspection it looks kind of like a stuffed toy bear, only one side is black, and one side is white, with a spikey red eye on the black side.

What do you do?

You decide that it's best to just wait for now, and listen to what this bear has to say. "I mean, you guys are supposed to be Omegas, right? The very best of the best? So good that no one can get past you? But you've been stumbling around like a bunch of blind hedgehogs! I mean, what have you even learned so far?"

Everyone looks at each other, dumbfounded. At that point, the double doors leading from reception burst open, and someone else walks in. She's wearing a bright pink skirt and white boots, with a buttoned up black trench coat. The coat is covered in multicolored tetrominos of all things. Talk about gaudy. Her long blue hair trails behind her, with the top of her head covered by a pink newsboy cap. Her eyes are the same shade of pink. "Sorry I'm late. I was in the restrooms."

Neville grimaces. "Oh god, not another one."

You get the feeling that the bear's not done. So after shrugging your shoulders, you turn back to him. "Okay okay okay, NOW you're all here. That's good! I can explain all the rules now! So, the more observant of you may have noticed that you're trapped inside Yggdrasil Academy with no way out! Now that I've said it, even the slow-witted ones are probably realizing that that's really bad! But don't worry! The kitchen is well stocked, so you won't run out of food. I've got the plumbing well in hand too. The dorm beds are pretty comfy I suppose, though I only heard that secondhand. You've got everything you need to live in this school for the rest of your lives!"

Rose makes a face at the bear. "What? There's no way we can live in this school for the rest of our lives! We've got stuff to do! Who are you to tell us what to do, anyway!"

The Bear just raises one paw... Menacingly? You're not sure if that's the right term to apply to a stuffed animal, but you think it fits. "I am Monokuma! The new acting headmaster of Yggdrasil Academy! I may be a Japanese mascot originally, but I've taken plenty of language classes and courses on western culture before coming over here, so hopefully I'll fit right in!"

Georgina claps her hands together. "Oh, so you're kind of like an exchange student, but a headmaster? So you're an exchange headmaster? That's wonderful!"

Monokuma nods."Oh yes, it's pretty impressive I must admit. But we mustn't dawdle. Why do you think I called you here? I need to explain the school rules as they apply to this Neverending Semester! Pretty good way to describe your life at this school, huh? So, you're probably wondering 'is there really no way to escape?' But don't worry! For those students that absolutely 100% NEED to get outside, there is a course you can take to graduate. Can you guess what the subject is?"

You respond. "We compete for a prize, or something like that? Or is it just a regular course, like drama or maths?"

Monokuma starts laughing. "Boy, you've sure got one hell of an imagination! Nah, nothing so complicated like that. To tell you the truth, I'm actually pretty awful at maths! And there's no way I'm gonna take on the Omega Actor at Drama. But here's the long and short of it. You wanna get out of here? You've got to kill another student and get away with it!"

His announcement shocks the whole class. Lucas shudders. "Kill each other... You mean, to get out we've gotta murder each other?"

Monokuma nods vigorously. "Yep! Any way you want! Stabbing, strangling, burning, drowning, slashing, bludgeoning, all that good stuff! To get out of here, you've got to kill one of the other students you're standing with right now. And that's not all! Once a body is discovered, we're gonna have a class trial, and you'll have a chance to discover who did it! If you guys can guess the murderer correctly, they'll be executed!"

Francine cocks her head to the side, frowning. "So even if someone does what you want and kills someone else, they'll still die if we out them to you?"

Monokuma folds his arms. "Man, you guys are on point today! That's right, you have to kill someone AND get away with it in order to escape this academy! And of course, people need a motivation to discover the killer. So if you guys guess wrong, I'll let the murderer walk off free as a bird, and execute the rest of ya! That's the basic gist of the Neverending Semester! Anyway, I'll leave you guys to discuss things among yourselves. Call if you need anything!"

Monokuma jumps back behind the podium and vanishes.

The 16th student just stares back at Juliet. "It was unavoidable. I'm sorry."

Before you can respond, she moves off to talk with another student. Juliet just shakes her head. "That soldier is trouble. Mark my words, Lt. Lineman. In a scenario like this, we need seamless cooperation, and she looks to be the kind of person who doesn't play nice with others."

She heads over to the announcement podium. "Attention! We shall rendezvous at the dining hall to share information! Double time, people!"

With that, Juliet and several others head towards the dining hall, with a few students staying put here in the courtyard.

You follow Juliet to the dining hall. When you and the others arrive, you notice a large pile of digital tablets stacked up on one of the tables. Cameron reaches for one of the tablets, but a voice stops him. "You aren't seriously gonna pick up one of the E-Handbooks without me explaining them, are ya?"

You turn around and see Monokuma waddling through the door leading to the dorms. "I mean c'mon, they could have been bombs for all you knew! But seeing as you couldn't help yourself, you can get the first one! What you guys are looking at are my next-century level E-Handbooks! They're these handy-dandy digital tablets with all the info you'll need for living at this school! When you pick up an E-Handbook for the first time, it'll read your fingerprint and register itself to you specifically. From then on, when you switch it on, it'll show your name! So you better always make sure you're carrying yours. Oh, and you can only be registered once, so there's no way for you to get multiple handbooks. The school regulations are listed in there, so make sure to take good care of yours!"

He waddles off and disappears through the door again. Steven dashes over, opens the door and looks down the corridor. "No good, the goddamn bear just vanished!"

Juliet picks up her E-handbook, then grabs another and hands it to you. "Here, take a look at the information inside. It does seem to be mission-critical data."

You boot it up.

You and Juliet sit down on a bench together away from the others and go over the information contained in the E-handbook, as well as everything that's happened up to this point. "It seems that except for Nighttime restrictions, we're allowed to investigate this academy as we wish. According to this, students who commit murder are known as "the blackened", while the rest are known as "the spotless." For us to survive, we have to uncover the identity of the blackened whenever a murder is committed, and sacrifice them to Monokuma. All these rules seem to be designed to push us to murder. Maintaining morale will be important in these trying times. Keep all these regulations in mind, Lt. Lineman. I believe that breaking them is an automatic fail state on this mission."

She turns away and gives the others a similar speech. "-Now, as it is already 2100 hours, I recommend we break for the day, rest up in the provided dorms, and reconvene here tomorrow at 0700 hours so that we can go over our plans for withdrawal."

She marches back over to you while the others all head towards the Dorms. "You had better rest up too, Lt. Lineman. I'll be counting on you tomorrow. Your room shouldn't be hard to find, all the doors have been fitted with nameplates."

You salute Juliet once more and head to the dorms. You make it to the hallway of rooms, finding that they follow a pattern. All the male dorms are on one side and all the female dorms are on the other side. Your dorm room is at the very end of the row, next to Quentin's and adjacent to Juliet's. You reach your room, pull open the door, and check inside. It's a fairly standard room, with a bed, a desk, a small table with two chairs, and even an adjacent bathroom. Lying on the table is a key on a keychain with your name carved into it. You figure it's the key to your dorm's door, and after checking the room once more, test it out. You close your door, turn the key, and the lock clicks. You test the handle, but it doesn't budge. Satisfied that your room is secure, you retire to bed, exhausted after the events of the day.

DAY 1: END.

DAY 2: BEGIN.

You wake up after a night of troubled sleep to the sound of a familiar and annoying voice drifting out of the speakers. "Good morning students! It's now 7 AM and it's officially daytime again! Now let's start the day with lots of energy!"

After a quick wash in the adjoining bathroom, you head off to the dining hall. While heading down the hallway, you see Alice and Cameron chatting outside their rooms. Looks like the scientists of the group stick together. You finally reach the dining hall to see Juliet, Lucas, Georgina, and Eddie all digging into their breakfast. It seems the others haven't shown up yet. You grab yourself a bowl of cereal and chow down as more people trickle into the dining hall. The last person to arrive is Cassandra, who also grabs some cereal. Juliet slams her hand down on the table dramatically. "Alright, we made a cursory inspection yesterday, and we've got the basic idea of the layout of this academy. There's the reception area, which contains the restrooms, the gym, the dining hall, the courtyard, and the dormitory! There's also a set of stairs leading up to the next floor located in the corridor between the reception area and the gym, but at the moment they are blocked off by a metal grate. Steven has tried lifting it, but no progress was made."

Alice interjects, with a puzzled look on her face. "Why do we care about getting up to the next floor? We wanna get out of here, right? We should be focusing on getting through that big metal plate at reception, right?"

Juliet shakes her head. "Negative. While our goal is to achieve a tactical withdrawal from this area, we shouldn't ignore the possibility of additional tactical locations being found on the upper floors. Keep that in mind. Now as there have been no breakthroughs in creating an exit, we shall simply have to keep our eyes peeled for opportunities. While going about your business today, take note of anything interesting that you may see or hear. If you can find Monokuma, ask him how we can get up to the next floor. That is all. Dismissed!"

She marches out of the dining hall along with most of the others, who've finished their food. (Cont...)

You decide to spend time with Steven this morning. Think you can help me try and lift this grate? I think we might be able to do it with two people."

You spend the rest of your morning trying and failing to lift the steel grate.

"Man, this thing is sturdy. The metalworking is something else, too. It looks handcrafted, really high quality. Those metal plates too. The bastards who trapped us in here must have put a lot of thought into it. It makes me so goddamn angry! You feel the same way, right?"

What do you say?
>>
>>46957006
"Yeah, but did we try looking to PURGE HERETICS."
>>
>>46957006
"It's iritable that's for sure, but maybe if we play this right we can get the people who did this and get payback"
>>
>>46957006
"I feel angry and annoyed but I can't let my emotions control me."
>>
>>46957006
Certainly aggravating, but that's probably what they want us to be, if you think about it.
>>
>>46957057
>>46957075
>>46957138
"You're right. I just get so pissed off thinking about it. Yeah, we'll definitely get payback later. Thanks man."

You both head back to the dining hall where everyone is already eating lunch. As you eat, you hear a voice. An annoying, high-pitched voice. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING!? It's been days, and nobody's dead! Are you all just incompetent, or what? I go to all the trouble to set up this perfect killing arena, and there haven't been any murders in three days! Does no one want to get out of here!? Kids these days, honestly. No respect for hard work and effort!"

Juliet scoffs. "And you have no understanding of discipline or cooperation, clearly! We're not going to kill each other just because you want us to."

Monokuma waves his paw. "Are you suuuuuuuuure about that?"

What do you do?
>>
>>46957242
Crusade.
>>
>>46957242
I might be convinced given the right incentive.

>>
>>46957334
>>46957340
>>46957363
>>46957468
You speak up, imitating Monokuma's voice."I sure am!"

Everyone, including Monokuma, just stops and stares at you. You switch back to your regular voice. "Seriously, yes. I'm an Actor. I imitate life, not death."

Everyone voices their agreement, saying that they'd never kill each other. Monokuma growls and paces angrily. "Well then, that's a problem. It's no fun if no one kills anyone, but no one WANTS to kill anyone, so it's no fun. Wait... So all I have to do is make you guys want to kill! A motive, that's the ticket! Good idea! I'll set up a motive for everyone! Well, please excuse me guys! I've got a ton of work to go do! Bye-bye!"

Monokuma walks out, leaving an atmosphere of unease in the room. Slowly, everyone else finishes their lunch and heads off.

You head to the reception, where Juliet is assessing the metal plate that replaced the front door. The two of you discuss how the people responsible could have installed all these metal plates so quickly. The discussion continues for most of the afternoon.

"You seem to be a rather perceptive officer, Lt. Lineman. Tell me, what do you think our enemy is trying to accomplish with what occurred at lunch?"
>>
>>46957710
"The enemy seems to really want us dead sir."
>>
>>46957710
He was either trying to gather information on us or attempting to get us used to his presence so he can appear more frequently later with negative ractions. If we get so used to him that we resign ourselves to his presences he can influence us more easily
>>
>>46957710
"To make us turn on each other. I don't what he has planned and I fear the worst, sir."

"Indeed. Their current tactics revolve around a kind of psychological warfare. Rather than fighting us themselves, they are attempting to have us kill each other. So they can accomplish this, they are trying to unnerve us and turn us against each other, leading to a breakdown in discipline. I've seen it happen before. Remember Lt. Lineman, these people are all your comrades. To think otherwise is to let the enemy win."

With those words, she leaves the area, most likely heading to the dining hall. You also head to the dining hall, so you can dig into your breakfast. But as you arrive, you see that something is off. Monokuma is standing in the middle of the dining hall, with everyone gathered around him. "What's going on?"

In response, Monokuma laughs that irritating laugh of his. "Finally, you're the last person here! Now I can hand out the motives I've prepared for everyone!"

He waddles around and hands each student a Mini CD. "Just slot those into your E-Handbook and you'll see what I'm talking about! You might wanna do it in private though. Ta-Ta!"

He vanishes again, leaving the disc in your hand.

What do you do?

You just shrug and slot the disc into your handbook. But as you can hear it start to spin, almost everyone excuses themselves and leaves the dining hall, leaving you on your own. Only Juliet, Cassandra, and Quentin remain in the dining hall as another option pops up on your E-Handbook. You select "Play Disc" and watch the video that pops up. It simply shows Monokuma's face as he speaks.

"Well hello there Zachary! I bet you're thinking to yourself "What could POSSIBLY be on this little disc that would motivate me to murder?" Well champ, I've got the answer to that million dollar question of yours. You wanna know why there aren't any other people in this academy? Why there are metal plates all over the place? Why you're trapped inside this school in the first place? Why you can't get to any of the other floors? Why you've been forced into the killing game? One of you already KNOWS all the answers. And that's because they're responsible for it all! You've got a traitor in your midst, and they're the reason you're here. In fact, they're probably plotting to kill one of you at the moment! And I know for a fact that they really don't like you Zach, so you'd better watch out! They could already be creeping up behind you as I speak! Well, that's enough of me rambling on. You wanna get your questions out, you'd better find out who the traitor is! That's it from me! Bye!"

The video stops playing.

What do you do?

While what he's saying may be true, becoming paranoid is clearly what he's after.

Check with the others still here. See if anyone wants to discuss.

Plus, with multiple people here, less chance for a freak out killing
>>
>>46958379
>Inb4 she betrays us
I ain't putting faith into anyone just yet.
>>
anyone else concerned that melissa is described as having "violent-looking violet eyes"?
>>
>>46958521
I didn't say she couldn't but being paranoid can be used against us.
>>46958582
I think that was a typo.
Though, how would violent-looking eyes look like?

You laugh, drawing a quizzical look from the others. "Oh man, that was stupid. There's no way he expects this to work, right? It's absolutely ridiculous."

Juliet smiles and nods, Quentin grins slightly, but Cassandra frowns. "It's not impossible for there to be a traitor though. Don't just discount possibilities because they're not something you'd like to be true."

She storms out in a huff, flinging the double doors aside. Quentin gives a shrug and a smile. "I'll go after her, calm her down."

He heads off after her, leaving you and Juliet. You decide to ask her what she thought about the message. "You're absolutely right, Lieutenant. This is just another example of psychological warfare. The enemy can choose to feed us whatever disinformation they want. If we accept everything they say at face value, then we're limiting our options based off of possible false information. Even if part of it is true, that doesn't mean all of it is. And most importantly, we mustn't lose sight of the fact that we're working as a team here. Let's head to bed. I'm sure everyone will have a clearer head in the morning."

Seeing no reason not to, you head off to the Dorms with her. You say goodnight as you both enter your rooms and lock them. Falling asleep on the pillow, you can't help but give another chuckle. What was Monokuma thinking, giving you such a shitty motive? For someone who managed to trap you all here, the mastermind behind this is pretty dumb. Slowly, you drift off...

DAY 3: END.

Sweet. Thank you for running. Good stuff.

And thank you guys for playing.

Also, I've just found out about the new /qst/ board. Would it be best to move the quest over there when I run it next?
>>
>>46958803
Hmm, so far, >>>/qst/ is a trail board. I'm not sure it will survive. If it does, I guess all quests will move over there. It's a stupid idea, though.
>>
>>46958803
eh... it doesn't have a functional archive right now besides a 7 day thing, It's supposed to get a functional archive soon but, i'd wait till then, plus it's a new thing that may die before the weeks out.
>>
>>46958844
>>46958872
Okay, so until /qst/ gets its own archive, I'll keep running here on /tg/.
>>
>>46958914
Goodnight, Omega Narrator.
I wonder though how would we play it if we picked the Omega Priest/theologist.
>>
Well, looks like I missed this thread. Gimme a minute and I'll do the h/d tally.

Don't know whether to count 'Hopefully', so to be on the safe side:

>Hope: 1-2
>Despair: 0
>>
>>46958914
It does now. Lord Licorice of suptg fame had it done in a couple of hours bless his soul. I'd still want it to run here for now though. Or until someone bans quests here.
>>
>>46958614
The culprit is Cassandra!
>>
>>46958614
>junko/monokuma tries to screw with people
>its problem is the MC made most people give massive lack of fucks by calling it out on blatantly trying to get everyone to kill each other
ha, i love when baddies get completely screwed.
>>
>>46958914
It already does actually
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html
>>
>>46966981
>>46960157
Okay then, I'll probably run the next session on /qst/ barring any unforseen circumstances. I'll post the start date on https://twitter.com/OmegaNarrator
>>
>>46967071
You don't HAVE to move to /qst/. In fact quite a few QMs are refusing to do so.
>>
>>46968078
But why? The admins recognize your community with a shiny fresh board, why would you want to hang on in this ghetto? Just to annoy the trad gamers?
>>
isn't there a quest board now? Why is this here?
>>
>>46967071
I'd recommend doing so; the mods might start banning soon to enforce "no guys we have a board for this now."
Plus, it's a new board, and could always use the traffic. It's got tgchan to compete with, and at the disadvantage of not being red.

>>46968136
That seems to be the jist of it from what I see in the Feedback thread. Or rather, "we think quests fit /tg/, so even though they fit /qst/ better, we won't change because change is bad."

>>46968156
Have the mods actually moved quests? This thread's older than /qst/, so if they aren't moving things, it's going to stay here until it falls off normally or the mods autosage it.
>>
>>46968181
No mods have moved quest or made it a rule that they need to move over yet.

Somedipshit decided to bump this thread as it was about to fall off the board to stir up shit because everyone has some fucking opion right now, stop posting here let this fucking thread that finished before the /qst board was 2 hours old died already
>>
>>46968181
>we won't change because change is bad.

that sounds about right. That Dungeon Life thread has been nothing but shitposts since last night because the QM absolutely refuses to move to /qst/ unless his demands are met
>>
>>46968222
Right, because it's not the result of being spammed with demands that he move to /qst/ despite the fact that it's a trial board and he's under no obligation to do so. And the mods/janitors definitely haven't been deleting said demands CONSTANTLY.
>>
>>46968298
>And the mods/janitors definitely haven't been deleting said demands CONSTANTLY.
This. It's almost like /qst/ was created without the consensus of the staff.
