My name is Cecile, and I'm sixteen years old. I already thought my life was odd, what with my parents having moved halfway across the country for their new job and leaving me in the care of my older sister... but then my best friend went and had a book shipped to my house that ended up giving me superpowers.

In order to try and help Charlotte calm down after everything that's been happening, I've (with Gabrielle's help managed to drag her out of the hotel for the day. And though the real amusement park is too far away to reliably be able to get back from before it's dark out, with any luck this little one we're going to is a fair enough substitute.

Having reached our destination, me and Charlotte step out of the taxi that brought us here and take in the atmosphere. The sky is nice and bright with only a couple of fluffy clouds innocently floating along, the temperature isn't too hot and isn't too cold, and there doesn't seem to be too many people around today.

So basically, we picked the perfect day to come here!

"Doesn't look too bad from outside at least," Charlotte says while gazing at the area around the park's entrance. "This place is free entry?"
"Yeah," I reply. "All the games and rides and stuff cost money, though."
"Makes sense," she nods. "So are we waiting here for your friends to show up, or..."

I take Charlotte's hand in mine.

"Nope, it's just us today," I say to her. "Since I was thinking that you wouldn't want to share me."

Charlotte lowers her head and smiles.

"Well isn't that just wonderful," she laughs. "I get to have you all to myself for a change."
"That was the idea," I reply.
"I guess I'm going to have to make the most of this, eh?"

Without warning, Charlotte suddenly pulls me along with her as she makes her way through the park gate. The scenery inside is quite different from the outside, with the wide grassy fields giving way to a wide cobblestone path lined with all sorts of stands.

Not to say that the place is completely devoid of greenery, of course- there are trees spread out along the walkway, beyond which is a wide expanse of grass that leads down to the river. It's so pretty that I find myself bringing out my phone and loading up its camera funcion.

While I generally can't stand those girls who take stupid selfies and snapshots of everything, I can't help myself.

No selfies, though. I still have -some- dignity left.

"Want to go check out the river?" I say, pointing to a gap in between two stands that practically serves as a gateway to the riverbed.
"What, so you can take some more pictures?" Charlotte replies.
"Well yeah but that's not the only reason..."

And once again I find myself pulled along by Charlotte.

"Eh?" I stumble forward.
"This date was your idea so I'll leave our itinerary up to you," Charlotte says. "And since you said that you wanted to see the river up-close then let's do just that."
"Uhh... yeah, okay!"

Picking up my pace, I speed up until I'm the one leading Charlotte along. And as we approach the riverbed, I notice two spots of interest...

...but although those birds over there look kind of cute, they'll probably just fly away if we get too close. On the other hand, these little guys over here don't look to have any way to escape my inquiring gaze.

So I approach the little clearing in the tall grass where they are, stopping just short of the water itself. After all, I'm not about to get this dress wet with filthy river water of all things. I'm too cute for that.

"Hey, look at that," I say, pointing down at the water.
"Hm."

Charlotte soon joins me in crouching down to look into the shalow water. There, we find a turtle that's just large enough for its feet to reach the bottom walking around and chomping on the taller shoots of whatever plant it is that's growing around here.

"That must have been someone's pet that was abandoned out here," Charlotte says while pointing at it. "These aren't native to this area at all."

Leave it to her to just know this stuff offhand.

"...yeah, there we go," Charlotte nods.
"Eh?" I turn to her.
"She says that she used to live in a box but now she doesn't. Probably some kid's aquarium or something."
"Oh. Huh."

I don't know why I wasn't expecting her to just do that.

Alerted by movement off to the side of where the turtle is doing her thing (I guess it's a girl since Charlotte said so), my gaze is drawn to a small inlet...

"Ooh, look!" I point right at the little black comma-looking things that are swimming along just underneath the water's surface.
"Tadpoles?" Charlotte squints to get a better look. "Huh, I wonder what kind they are."
"You can't tell just from looking?" I ask.
"Well it's not like I'm some kind of expert," she replies, tapping me on the forehead. "And even if I asked them directly, I very much doubt they have any idea what they even are."
"So even your amazing skills have their limits, huh."

She simply laughs at my statement.

>[2/?]
>>
>>46975595
No.
>>
>>46975607

"I'll show you what my 'amazing skills' can do," Charlotte says while cracking her knuckles.

She gently taps her bright red fingernail against the surface of the water, and suddenly there's a ring of tadpoles circling around it. She then drags it along, and the tadpoles follow along in perfect formation.

"I used to do stuff like all the time back when I lived in the woods," Charlotte says. "Since there wasn't exactly much to do out there to pass the time, goofing off like this was the only thing I could really do."

Charlotte then has the tadpoles swim in ring formation after ring formation, their swimming precise to a point that I didn't even think was possible for them to do. But soon enough, she decides to give the tadpoles a break. The second she releases her control, they resume their erratic swimming all over the little place that they'd been when we first found them.

"I never really took you for the type to just play around with your Branch like that," I say to Charlotte.
"Hey, I can't be serious -all- of the time," Charlotte laughs.

With Charlotte's tadpole synchronized swimming exhibition finished with, I move my attentions back to the little turtle who still looks to be poking around and eating stuff. Though she's definitely an ugly little thing, there's still a certain charm to seeing her splash around.

"Oh look, it got lost from its friends," I say, pointing to a tadpole who's strayed into this area.

CHOMP

And like freaking LIGHTNING, the turtle's neck grows like three times its original length as its head snaps out and gobbles up the tadpole in a single bite.

"Holy crap!" I say, nearly falling over backwards because what the hell was that.
"Yeah, they do that," Charlotte sighs. "Alligator snapping turtles eat everything."
"I, uh... I can see that."
"Yeah, so keep your fingers away from her mouth or they'll get bitten right off."

Hahahahahahahaha nature is scary

I stand up and pat the wrinkles out of my dress.

"Uh..." I force a smile, "I think I've had enough of turtles for now."

Charlotte's talk of turtles and fingers has me thinking about how I maimed Faceless last night and I really don't want that on my mind while we're supposed to be out here enjoying ourselves.

"Hm?" Charlotte stands up. "Alright then, you're the leader. So what's next?"
"I think I need something cute to get that out of my head," I reply. "So, umm..."

My gaze returns to the birds that are a little ways down the riverbed from the spot where we are right now.

"...birds!" I say, pointing to them. "Birds are cute!"
"Birds it is, then."

The sight of two girls in frilly dresses like ours trudging down the riverbed must be a weird one. Not that I really care, of course.

"Oh my Goooooood!" I squeal as the sheer adorableness of the miracle that is baby ducks is transferred through my optic nerves and fed directly to my brain. "Just look at them!"
"Yeah, they are adorable," Charlotte says as she crouches down next to me. "Loki was about this cute when he first hatched."
"Heh, really?"
"Yup," she nods. "Rhaccy didn't really get cute until after his real feathers came in, though."

We watch the cute baby ducks splash in the water around the mama duck for a good while. Even though they're not really doing much of anything, it's still completely engrossing.

But then my cuteness-induced stupor is interrupted by tapping on my shoulder.

"Wha?"
"Want to hold one?" Charlotte asks.

"Hell yes I do!" I blurt out without thinking.

And of course Charlotte is now looking at me with a wide grin on her face.

"Alright, then..." she says. "...place your hand just under the water's surface, alright?"
"Umm, okay," I nod.

And just after I do as she says, one of the baby ducks swims right into my hand!

"You can pick him up now, but be careful," Charlotte says.
"Umm, okay," I nod.

Gently, I lift my hand up from the water and with it the baby duck that was floating in the water above it. He's all fluffy and adorable...

"It's okay that I'm doing this, right?" I ask. "The mother isn't gonna be mad or anything?"
"I told her that we're not going to do anything bad," Charlotte replies. "And the little one in your hand is too amazed at how big you are to be angry about you bothering him."

Just then, he flaps his little down-covered wings in my hand and my heart just melts.

I spend the next however long fawning over my new little friend here while Charlotte plays with the other baby ducks who are still in the water. Everything's all nice and peaceful... but then the pleasantness is shattered by the sound of a huge splash.

"Wha?"

I turn to see what the heck that just was, and find two little boys jumping around by where we just were.

"Bombs away!" a hat-wearing boy exclaims as he drops a rock that's easily as big as his head into the water. "Hahaha, take that!"
"Look, it's a turtle!" another boy shouts. "Gimme a stick so I can pike it!"

And now there's a deep growling sound coming from next to me... oh man, it's Charlotte.

>>
>>46977739
I've heard the lack of an archive is one of them, what are some other concerns?
>>
>>46977755
This was already discussed to death. Take it either to >>>/qst/ or >>>/qa/ and join a discussion there.
>>
>>46977755
The major ones for me appear to be:
a) Separation from the main source of questers. (ie readers of /tg/)
b) Fear of a huge influx of readers from random boards (trolls and filthy casuals)
c) Mods who have no idea what they are doing (admitting to having only read 1 quest many years ago on /tg/. They also don’t even seem to know how quests work)
d) Some iffy rules regarding what is allowed. Some banned quests for unknown reasons, some weird idea that all quests be pg13 or lower etc

God damn it. We came out here for the sole purpose of helping Charlotte calm down some and things were going so well, too. But now these little dickheads show up and she's right back into super wound-up mode.

I should probably stop her.

I know I should probably stop her, but I'm not going to. Because I'm more than a little bit pissed off at those little punks for pissing all over our good time too.

And just as I make that decision, Charlotte sprints towards the clearing where they're in the midst of being little sociopaths. And while I'm not about to interfere, I -will- magnify the image from over there so I can get a nice view of the action.

I wonder if my little baby duck buddy wants to see too. Probably not.

>[1/?]
>>
>>46977911

Upon reaching the scene of the attempted animal violence, Charlotte grabs the hand of the little punk with the hat just as he's drawing back to stab that turtle from before with a stick that his buddy gave him.

"Hey, what ar-"
"Cut that out right this instant!" Charlotte shouts in a tone that I've heard her use on Gabrielle. And also Loki. "Didn't your parents teach you to -respect- other living things!?"
"Lemme go!" the hat boy yells while trying in vain to pull his hand free from Charlotte's vicelike grip.

Even if he was slippery enough to get free that way, Charlotte's lace glove things are adding more than enough friction to keep that from happening.

"You too, you little brat!" Charlotte calls out to the other kid... who is holding another huge rock. "You're too old not to know better than to do things like this!"
"Who the hell're you?" the rock kid replies, rolling his eyes at her.
"Let me go or I'm gonna yell that you're a child molester!" the hat kid shouts.

That seems to be enough to get Charlotte to release her grip on him, but she also snatches the stick from his hand in the process. Nice going.

Eyeing the two little jerks who have earned her ire, Charlotte takes the stick that she procured from one of them and chucks it clean across the river.

"I -saw- what you did," Charlotte growls. "What makes you think that you have the right to just do things like that?"
"Do things like what?" the kid with the rock asks. "Things like this?"

He then slams it into the area where the tadpoles were as hard as he can. When the water finally clears enough to be able to see in it again, only about half the number from before are still there.

"You little bastard..." Charlotte grits her teeth.
"You're not my Mom or the cops or anything so just get lost," the hat kid says, scoffing at her. "It's not like they're -yours- anyways."

The loud calls of the mama duck in the water next to me pull me back to my own location... her babies are all huddling up against her and the little one in my hand is really freaking out too so I put him down so he can be with his family.

"At first I think that their sudden distress is because of how obviously pissed Charlotte is, but then I notice a massive shadow racing along the ground towards their general direction.

I get it recording just in time for Rhaccy to swoop down out of nowhere and snatch the one kid's hat right from off his head. Holding it in his talons until he's about halfway across the river, he then lets it go and doubles back around.

"Whwhwhhat was that!?" the former hat kid shouts. "It took my hat!"
"Look, it's still out there!" the other kid points at the incoming Rhaccy. I think it's an owl!"
"What!?"

Screaming at the top of their lungs, both boys collapse into the fetal position as he zooms maybe a few centimeters above where their heads would've been and perches on Charlotte's outstretched arm.

"It's not fun when they're the ones harassing -you-, is it," Charlotte growls.

"What the hell, are you some kind of animal trainer!?" One of the boys blurts out as he scrambles to his feet.
"My Dad gave me that hat!" the other one cries. "Give it back!"
"If you want that hat back then you can swim for it," Charlotte cuts back in a cold voice. "And I'm no 'animal trainer.'"
"Th- then where the hell did THAT THING come from!?" the first boy cries while pointing at the massive owl on her arm.

And then Charlotte smiles. A far-too-wide smile that bares her fangs into full view.

"In school I'm -sure- you've read about witches, haven't you?" Charlotte says.
"Q- quit bullshitting!" the hat kid shouts.
"I'm not 'bullshitting' you," she replies, "I'm simply stating a fact. I am a witch and this guy right here is my familiar."

Rhaccy then spreads his massive wings to their full span as if on cue, about as long as Charlotte is tall. If not longer.

"His favorite food is the eyes of people who get on my bad side," Charlotte says, "...and as for me?"

Charlotte's eyes suddenly grow to like double their usual size. And she's still maintaining that horrific smile too.

"I like LIVERS," she says in a voice that's downright inhuman. "The younger, the better..."

She slowly reaches out her blood-red claws towards the boys... and they immediately burst out in blood-curdling screams while running away from her as fast as they can.

I stare at Charlotte for a few seconds... and then it all comes to a head and I break down in laughter. I laugh and laugh and hug the hell out of my beautiful scary girlfriend because that was both funny as hell and strangely hot.

Like, really hot.

"That was great," I say, hugging her while continuing to laugh.
"...Cecile, are you okay?" Charlotte asks. "I just traumatized two kids and you're laughing about it."
"You did the right thing," I say as I finally let go of her, "so don't worry about it. Maybe that'll keep them from pulling that crap again."
"That'd be nice," she sighs.
"But you know that nobody actually -likes- livers, right? That would've given your whole act away if those two weren't total morons."

And now she's the one laughing.

"We should probably get out of here now though," I say.
"Yeah, I guess you're right there," Charlotte nods.

She then crouches down to the ducks who are still huddled together.

"Sorry for scaring you like that," Charlotte says while petting the mama duck on her head. "As you can see, I have a bit of a temper."

And after a lot of quacking, Charlotte gets back up and dusts herself off and it's back to the main path with us. I'm totally going to have to show that video of her scaring those kids to Gabrielle, I'm sure she'd get a kick out of it.

"Nnnnh..." Charlotte gives her arms a good stretch when we reach the cobblestone path. "...so where to now, leader?"

That'll be all for tonight's thread, folks. As always, I thank everyone who participated in this one.

Assuming that things haven't gone to shit by then, I'll be running again on Sunday night.

Cecile, Mina and Theresa are all 16.
Allison and Charlotte are 19.
Irene is unknown.
Gabrielle is 13.

And now I sleep. Thanks for playing!
