Welcome back, space pirates, to the twenty-sixth chapter of Mecha Space Pirate Quest! As always, you are Admiral Roarke Susan Starwind of the Iron Kestrels, master of the starship Rhinehawk and pilot of the Knuckle Kaiser. Only today, you will also be Avi Silversmith, helmsman of the Rhinehawk, presumptive son of Captain Ozark, and eater of Maya's delicious baked goods.

Now, a few things. First, you'll likely notice that the Rhinehawk is pretty tanky for a ship of its size, but it only has medium beam batteries to fight with. The Jaburo, by contrast, is extremely tanky and has tremendously killy beam cannons, but currently can't move.

You also have the Yamato, which is currently guarding Auditorium with its tremendous missile banks. You can, of course, order the Yamato to join you on the field or to pursue the transport that launched the First Mate, which is currently trying to zoom past the colony and presumably flee..

Speaking of which, you probably want to know about those three ships that emerged from the gates, don't you?

The first, like the transport that launched the First Mate, is a relatively small vessel. It's not particularly dangerous aside from a complement of 20 mecha, a 600K hull, 30 hull SP, and a single light battery doing 50K per shot...which isn't enough to scratch the Rhinehawk or the Jaburo's paint unless one of its big cousins.

The second ship is a cruiser. Its stats are identical to the Yamato's, because it's a Jovian ship (known as the Channel-class, but they're so ubiquitous they're generally just called Jovian cruisers or troopships depending on their loadout) predating the invention of defensive screens.

The Light Heavy warship Agamemnon, however, is by far the strongest in every single way.

Its hull has 1400 Kills. Its hull SP is, like yours 70. It has 14 spaces in its hull, which are appointed in much the same way as the Rhinehawk's except that its two beam batteries are Heavy (200K) instead of Medium (100K). It can travel 800m per turn, but is limited to 600 by the slower cruiser accompanying it, and takes 350m forward travel to change heading 60 degrees.

All of the enemy ships are Jovian, which means they have front and rear batteries instead of starboard and port batteries.

Oh. The Agamemnon can also carry 100 mecha in its bays. Now, adding these up, and keeping in mind that those from the first transport have by now been destroyed by a combination of Red Siren's forces and Oda's Osano-Wo, this leaves you with the following.

The combined forces of the Jaburo and Rhinehawk come to 53 on the Rhinehawk (I made a mistake and the Tarrasque is no longer damaged) and 120 on the Jaburo, for a total of 173.

The three Green Skulls vessels have 20 on the transport, 70 on the cruiser, and 90 on the Agamemnon (which has some space left over), for a total of 180. However, on average your mecha are heavier than theirs are, but theirs have a better dicepool because of the Jaburo's rookie crew. Your aces are definitely superior.

Do you want to position the Rhinehawk in front of the Jaburo, or behind it? You have time to reach it, because the enemies are circling for a good position and conducting scans of both vessels.
>>
>>47494980
So it's a full on assault by the green skulls. First mate wasting time and messing with the defenses, then leaving, with the main force doing mop up.

Lucky us, we can probably make this a 2 on 1 fight if we clean up the cruiser and transport. Both are major trouble makers if the transport has another bomber or two. After that, we can call for Oda to clean up the Agamemnon.
>>
>>47495134
>the Tarrasque is no longer damaged
Awww yeah. Time for one of the nobodies to make a good impression.
>>
>>47495134
In front of. The Jaburo's weapons have longer ranges, and will need protection from incoming hostiles.

>>47495182
I dunno, I'd say take out the Agamemnon first to take out its guns and ensure it doesn't have a chance to launch anything close to its full complement.
>>
>>47495134
Front won't really work if the Jaburo's main cannon is front facing. Our guns can provide support to the sides with enough wiggle room.

>>47495222
The issue is they have the same sort of screen we have. It will take a long time to get through it and wreck them, especially with the jaburo's weaker crew. We MUST however prevent them from getting as many mecha out as possible. If they can crit they can damage our systems and screw us over and the jaburo is no no shape for a big mech fight. Take out the ones we can in the first turn to limit flanking, encirclement, and being swarmed by mechs.
>>
Ship initiative is slightly different than mech initiative, because it's 1d10 plus the crew value instead of 1d10 plus Mecha Reflexes (Roarke's Reflexes - the first tonnage digit of the Knuckle Kaiser). However, ships automatically act after all mecha during a turn.

To ablate a ship's armor takes at least a 100K attack, which reduces it by 1d10.

Due to being crewed by upwards of a hundred people, a ship is not bound to a limited number of Actions, it can perform any and all of the following that are applicable.

It can move its full speed.
It can launch up to 1/10 its maximum mecha complement
It can fire any and all main weapons (CIWS arrays fire automatically when an enemy enters range) up to two times per turn.

Front would work as long as we don't position the Rhinehawk directly in front of its cannon like idiots. Keeping ourselves mobile in its front hemisphere would provide an additional CIWS enemy mechs have to pass through to get to it.

If they start properly encircling us, then we'll change tactics, of course.

But I do see your point about taking out the cruiser first. I didn't realize the Yamato didn't have a Light Screen.
>>
>>47495271
The shield screen stops us from getting critted to shit by mecha IIRC, which gives us some time to use CIWS to soften them.

But in a 1-1 fight between the ships alone the Agamemnon has us beat by virtue of having better guns.

The small ship with 50K guns can also still sap at our shield slowly.

We need to focus fire on killing at least the one support ship they have that isn't the light transport.
>>
>>47495134
Station the Tarrasque as a mobile turret. Use the Jaburo as an extremely tanky bait while the Rhinehawk circle around and hammer the Agamemnon and the Jovian cruiser. Prioritize the Agamemnon's engines so that it lies dead in the water while we finish off the cruiser and the troop transport.
>>
>>47495353
That means we cannot be port or starboard of either of these ships. We need to position them to ensure only one of their batteries can hammer us at a time.

This is kinda why I wanted the 200k batteries upgrade beforehand.
>>
Lets try and capture the Agamemnon it could make a good new flagship for us
>>
>>47495372
Any attack on the Agamemnon would require us to eat through uit's shields first. If it has the same as us, thats 1000. If we fire twice a turn, thats 5 turns of hitting it before we even get through. Meanwhile it would be 3 on 2. We should not allow them the chance to keep the numbers up.
>>
>>47495484

You are, once again, Avi Silversmith. The Helmsman of the Rhinehawk and fleet commander in the absence of Captain Oda and Admiral Starwind. A young man with a healthy appetite for vengeance and baked goods. Right now, you have the relative positioning of the enemy vessels in front of you, and are hovering near the airspace of the Jaburo, somewhat above it. The enemy ships are ten kilometers away. One of the problems with Jovian vessels is that they have to be sideways to an enemy to hit with both of their main batteries, while the Rhinehawk's martian configuration lets it hit twice when enemies are directly ahead of or directly behind it. (Irritatingly, this system doesn't indicate how many hexes a starship takes up unless I'm missing something crucial, preventing me from modeling this with a hex map)

Right now, you have a UJCIDF Colonel on vidcomms while you work out your strategy. You wonder why she's distractedly petting your best friend, Mohammed al Tabir, on the head while she explains to you that the engines are currently down and asks what your strategy is, providing suggestions and help. You have the courtesy not to embarrass Mohammed by asking why he's being patted so much. Among other things, she wants to play possum and not have the Jaburo activate shields and open fire until the enemy ships are within your range, to avoid having them circle around and avoid the reach of the superheavy battery. As you speak, all five of the ships involved are launching mecha.

>[What is your basic strategy? You've had an hour-ish to work on it, after all]
>>
>>47495708

To clarify here. Your range being the Rhinehawk's range of 4000m. The cruiser will have to engage at this distance to hit with its own batteries, or it could (unless you advance on it) hit you from slightly outside your reach with missiles.
>>
>>47495708
Have Oda destroy the engines on the ship that launched the first mate I feel theres something important on the ship that would be destroyed if we just blew up the ship
>>
>>47495724

Megacrits I'll allow since they ignore armor.
>>
>>47495708

Focus down the cruiser. It has 1k less armour than Agamemnon because it doesn't have a shield but has a sizable amount of mechs inside. Kill it before it can deploy those mechs.

Hail the Jaburo. We need it to focus down the cruiser with us with. Even if it can only use one of its spine batteries it will be a big help to deny as many mechs on the field as possible. We can't deploy tarrasque yet. Wait until they shoot down our shield to start deploying mechs to counter theirs on the field. Tarassque needs the be the first in the field to try and soften mechs en masse. Have the rest of the bluegills try to provide cover or sweep through the weakened units.
>>
>>47495708
Bringing down the Cruiser first should be priority if it can simply fire off a ton of missiles. Work together with the Jaburo to do so. Oda can shoot at the transport, but if it gets too far, head to the front line to assist in taking down the enemy flag ship. If we can make it 3 on 1, we stand a good chance at winning.
>>
>>47495769

Are you sure you don't want to deploy your mechs? The three enemy vessels are already deploying Harpies.
>>
>>47495829
Shit.. yeah, deploy the Tarrasque, our officers and the Betta. Same with the Jaburo and it's best. Once the shields are up we are going to have to keep them up.
>>
>>47495708
Voting for prioritizing the cruiser, and placing the Rhinehawk as a physical obstacle between the majority of the mechs and the Jaburo.

Keep the Jaburo's guns silent until it raises its shields - it'll attract fire from the enemy batteries otherwise.

Deploy all our fucking mechs.
>>
>>47495854
Why not deploy everyone? This is why we have them in the first place.
>>
>>47495865
Sounds good to me.
>>47495905
>>47495865
>>47495854
We probably shouldn't send the Betta out unless they send Mohammad though.
>>
>>47495905
Yeah, +1 to this. We don't have an army just to hold them back. Everyone here knows fighting and death, and isn't afraid of it. We should let them do their jobs and deploy them to defend ourselves and our allies.

Deploy the mechs, Tarrasque and officers first, then harpies. Get between the enemy and the Jaburo, make it look like the Jaburo is totally crippled.
>>
>>47495819
>>47495765

I thought we were leaving Oda at Auditorium as defender. He can take goal tend against any mech rush or late gates near the Auditorium. The missiles to burst down whatever ship pops up and the CIWS for mechs. The place is filled with too much civilians to leave undefended. We could have come close in the middle of the fight (after cruiser is gibbed) to launch his missiles at the Agamemnon if it doesn't look like any more gates are opening.

>>47495829
Lower shields until we get in range. Deploy mechs while its down. Can we please get range status on Jaburo and the ships?
>>
>>47495905
because we only have so many to deploy each volley and they take up actions. Actions that could be getting our shields up and firing on the cruiser. We get our aces out with their best suits to provide screening and support, and we focus down the missile boat.

>>47495933
Could say it's an act of good faith to protect both crews from a mutual threat.
>>
>>47495933

Mohammed's mech is currently damaged, although he could deploy in a Morgan II or Warmouth if necessary. If the Jaburo had Pumpkinseed IIs, he might like one of them, but missiles aren't his specialty and Pumpkinseed IIs are generally melee-missile hybrids. As for the Betta, it wouldn't be too weird to employ it, they might assume one of your pilots is inside rather than Samantha.
>>
>>47495708
Have Avi put Roarke on all the speakers of the Rhinehawk. We got a speech to make. The Suleiman 1 survivors are gonna be extra furious fighters this battle.
>>
>>47495989
Thats a good point.
>>
>>47495989
>they might assume one of your pilots is inside rather than Samantha.
Isn't it pilot-locked to Sam, though?
>>
>>47495951

The enemy vessels are all about 10km from you and the Jaburo, which are floating next to each other. They are not yet approaching, and their Harpy complements are hovering around their vessels protectively.
>>
>>47495956
Which is all well and good until our guys are fighting over a hundred mechs on their own. This is exactly the situation where you want your no names out fighting.
>>
>>47495951
Don't the Green Skulls only have 5 ships and we already destroyed one earlier
>>
>>47496020
You're implying a skilled hacker couldn't break that in the long time we have had it with us?
>>
>>47496020

She has the codes to open it and the codes to shut it down remotely with a PC. Theoretically, however, someone else could pilot it with her consent.

>>47496007

Roarke, at this very moment, is engaged in combat with the First Mate, leaving Avi in charge.
>>
>>47496052

You destroyed two, so it would be correct to assume that this extra transport they have is new.

>>47495956
>Could say it's an act of good faith to protect both crews from a mutual threat.

This would be accepted, most likely. It's reasonable to assume a Europan aristocrat has honor while being a prisoner, and Pierre knows what's really going on too.
>>
>>47496047
If it gets to the point of them having their full compliment out, we already lost the battle. They are stuck with getting so many out a turn, just like us. They ALSO cannot leave the ship if their shields are on. Same as us. If we focus down their cruiser, which has no shields, then all crew men on it along with unused mechs are gone. That prevents additional reinforcements. If we put out too many they can focus fire us or the Jaburo who is putting out weaker crew at HALF the rate. We want our shields up and that cruiser gone asap.
>>
>>47496114

The reason why they are maintaining distance is to get their full complement of mecha in the void before engaging ship-to-ship. It would be very difficult to stop them without charging. It takes 100 seconds for a ship to discharge its full complement, 200 seconds for the Jaburo to do so because of its damaged bay catapults.
>>
>>47496052
We destroyed one battle cruiser and one transport ship.

My line of thinking is that NO ONE ports into a battle with even odds willingly. It's basic warfare since the spear was first invented. Especially when you are going to siege. The Green Skulls has something planned. Especially when they know that a Wels-class cruiser(even if it is handicapped) is teaming up with 2 other medium battle cruisers.

We know that there is a mole in the UJCIDF and we also know that the attack was right after the sabotage and escape from a prisoner and a traitor on Jaburo. I'm betting the Green Skulls have a game changer that they are willing to put forth this much of their "known" military force to meet on the battlefield.
>>
>>47496190
Could be using a transport as a suicide bomber. Wouldn't be surprised.
>>47496169
Well, our full and half of their compliment will have to do for now. The Jaburo can't dodge if it can't move so it needs those shields up.
>>
>>47496065
Hmm so this is just a bit before we kill the first mate? We do we get Roarke back into space?

In the meantime. Have the Auditorium on lock down. Send police mechs on patrol for ANY outside disturbance. Can't have another stealth mech make its way inside. Inform Oda and Red Siren that the green skulls have stealth technology.

Also what the shit. Karen isn't on the Rhinehawk. More reason Karen is a shit. Ditched her station in the middle of combat. Especially when mechanics are so important on space ships.

You agree with her suggestion, and recommend that she does, indeed, keep her guns and shields silent until you give the signal. You position the Rhinehawk between the Jaburo and the now-motionlessly-hovering Green Skulls.

Suddenly, you receive a hail, and vidcomms request, from the Agamemnon. Without thinking, you put it onscreen. The first thing you see is an obscenely round, pallid ball of flesh floating in a restraint harness. Although its body is huge and nearly spherical, its limbs are spindly and gnarled and resemble dead branches. The bald, ugly head however, is alive and mobile and its eyes are full of malice. Apart from him, the only people you see are women. Young women, ranging from thirteen to thirty, their eyes strangely lifeless, clad in tight green fatigues. Each one is wearing a silvery circlet with a skull between the eyes, working the computers of the Agamemnon's bridge without even looking up. There is an eerie precision to their movements, performed to a steady, silent rhythm.

The floating blob of flesh speaks, its voice thick and phlegmy and full of malice, “This is Captain Vladimir Galbadie of the Agamemnon, lord of the Green Skulls and master of the Belt. I am addressing the crew of the starships Jaburo and Rhinehawk, as well as the apparently perfidious Yamato, which is must have fled.”

One of the women glances at him. She doesn't say anything, but he nods, or rather his head wobbles vertically. She returns to her duties.

so we're fight Baron Harkonen? ew
>>
“Apparently not!" He laughs, it's a horrible, wet sound. "Ah, I knew I could count on the First Mate to keep at least one of you busy. I trust the Yamato is doing its best, but I will enjoy flaying the skin from its captain nonetheless. At any rate, I call upon the crews of your ships to do what is necessary for survival. Even the meanest rat will do what it takes to survive, and humans are no different. When we piled the skulls of the Green Men and their followers and their followers' families into pyramids during the Purging of Mars to show them the price of their iniquity, we learned this lesson well. Cut off what hinders you, deliver your officers and any females aboard your vessels to me, and I will permit you to join my armada. Refuse, and die a cold death in space.”

He shifts his head, “We will not be fooled, we are already aware that the Jaburo is a floating husk in space, a cold metal coffin for its passengers and crew. Its mighty cannons lie silent, its shields and engines and gate generator are useless, it is a hostage and I can only suspect you are banking on its mecha complement to save you...and worse, you have made the mistake of dividing your forces. I can only assume that this incompetence comes from your flashy juvenile commander, the so-called 'Admiral' whose supernatural good fortune has cost me valuable officers and worse, valuable time...." He squints at you suddenly, "You. You are not Roarke Starwind, boy, where is he?"

You fold your arms and give him the same look you gave the other Kestrels when they asked where the rest of the cake the Suleiman survivors baked for the pilots had gone. This man is ultimately responsible for the death of your father, and given the chance you will stuff his ugly face with plasma bolts.

And judging by the glassy eyed stares and the circlets, a lot of mental conditioning and mind control.

"I see you are admiring my bridge crew." He glances in a direction, and without looking up, one of the women caresses another's face.

"Do you know the workings of the HMIS? I cannot imagine so. Once, I too was a pilot, manning one of the handful of Thoroughbred MPs produced during the War. The way it works is simple, but I will explain it using as few technical terms as possible. The signals from your brain, used to move your body, are translated into a form your mech can understand, and then copy. The HMIS is not used for starships because the sheer processing power and many, many minute adjustments needed either render the ship horrifically clumsy or induce brain death from neuron overload. However, I found a way. If the signal can be translated once, why can't it be translated back into the signals used to move a human body? Originally, the technology used in the HMIS was intended for prosthetics, and I, a cripple, have restored its original function. This entire ship and its crew are my body. Mine to crush my enemies with. Mine to once again experience pleasure with. Mine to once more know how it feels to walk, to speak without feeling the weight of lard crushing down upon my chest. Through my precious dolls, I can experience the things I have lost."

Your expression twists into a scowl.

"Perhaps you would like to see for yourself?" He gestures, and one of the women locks its fingers around another's throat, "This one was growing old anyway, her body has been traumatized to the point where I gain little pleasure from it. I think it fitting that her daughter be the one to dispose of her. Oh, do not fret...she herself, the person she was, is long, long dead.

Karen's a mech mechanic. Specifically, she's the mechanic for the Kaiser. there are, like, 100 other mechanics on the ship for the rest of the mechs, including her Granddad. Her not being there is pretty negligible. But she is pretty stupid for leaving in the first place

"Her body is simply a doll of meat and bone for my use. This is only immoral if you view clipping your toenails or cutting your hair as a sin."

The woman gurgles but doesn't even shrug in her own defense as her face turns blue. Maya covers her face with her arms, Brunhilde looks as if she's trying not to vomit. You, though, you don't look away. You won't give him the satisfaction, although you stare him down with hate in your eyes.

For some reason, this triggers an outraged reaction from him. "How dare you look at me like some sort of monster! I, who traded my soul and the use of my own body for the future of mankind! I, a hero of a war you are too young to remember! I, who was condemned by the UJCIDF for doing what needed to be done to ensure we received the cooperation and submission of the Martian natives and cast aside like a used tissue! THIS IS WHAT MY SPECIES OWES ME!"

You glance down at the Rhinehawk's sensors. Enemy vessels are within 8km and closing. Not quite within firing range yet. Your mech complement is fully in place, "Shields up." You order, before sitting back in your chair, folding your hands across your belly, and preparing to tell this fat fuck off.

A translucent blue-green sphere shimmers into life around the Rhinehawk. Enemy ships at 7400m and closing.

"All I see is an old man too afraid to die, sacrificing innocent people for his own good like the useless landwhale he is. The woman expires, but you're already good and angry, you can't get much angrier, and despite your usual reticence the words flow in a torrent, "Your species doesn't owe you anything because you long since stopped paying it back. Don't pretend you did anything out of goodness when you've spent decades proving otherwise...but if you insist on living in the past, I will make sure you drown in it. I'll give you what humanity really owes you, eternal torment in whatever hell you go to you fat pathetic fuck."

6800m.

"My name is Avi Silversmith. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

6200m, they're staying roughly together and advancing at the same speed, but you suspect the Agamemnon will slow around 5550m to use its cannons from outside your reach. You pick up your thermos with the cheerful brown cow and take a preparatory swig of chocolate milk.

"YOU LITTLE TOAD! For your insolence, I will kill EVERYONE on board your vessel!" His ship cuts away from the others at an angle and at full speed. It has to, after all, to get into broadside position, cutting around to the side of the Jaburo. You estimate 20 seconds before it can fire.

"I WILL WATCH YOU BURN, CHILD! I WILL WATCH YOU DIE!" Galbadie roars, "AND WHEN I AM DONE, NONE WILL CONTEST THE NEW KING OF THE BELT!"

"Too bad you're too fat for belts." You comment drily, wiping your chin.

5600m.

5000m.

The Agamemnon's guns swivel towards you while its escorts are still twenty seconds out of range. Beams of plasma arc across the void towards your vessel.

"Take evasive action." You order.

You dodge the fore cannon easily, but the aft cannon's lances of plasma send ripples through the shield, which visibly thins, and make the ship rock. Maya stumbles with a yelp, and catches on to your chair.

4400m.

"Four hundred meter advance." You order, "Colonel...it's time."

Against all seeming tactical wisdom, you advance, the Rhinehawk's beam batteries sending fire dancing across the stars towards the missile-laden cruiser. Of course, YOU know you aren't alone, and that this guarantees you the first strike.

"Mohammed...I need something. For luck." In the side viewscreen, where you can see the bridge of the Jaburo, you witness Colonel Hatsheput grab Mohammed by the lapels and pull him down into a passionate kiss. When she releases him, he staggers a little, and she scowls at the screens, "FIRE!"

She opens an all-hailing frequency, "To all members of the Green Skulls pirate fleet, this is Colonel Regina Hatsheput of the UJCIDF. For crimes too long and too depressing to list in short form yet that I am intimately familiar with through studying your records, I sentence each and every one of you to death, sentence to be carried out summarily."

Crimson tree-trunks of plasma roar from the mighty fore'ard batteries of the Jaburo and the smaller spine battery at the rear.

Interlaced with it are the blue-green beams of the Rhinehawk's own batteries hammering the cruiser.

Your shots cleanly drill holes through it, missile bays exploding like fireworks and the ship itself listing as its engines start to go. You're pretty sure one of your shots hits the bridge, but combined with the massive hammerblow of scarlet from the Jaburo the cruiser explodes brilliantly.

You can't focus with Maya sprawled across you all soft and womanly like that. You only land two of your shots (reducing the Agamemnon's shield's SP to 800), but they help.

You help her up, and pat her on the butt, "Maya, could you get me a refill? I'll be fine."

She smiles brightly, "I know you will, Pooka. You're the bravest starship pilot I know." She flounces off with your thermos, while you watch with worry as you find out exactly what a Wels-class battleship is capable of.

The Agamemnon's defensive screen, already weakened by your assault, crumbles as the superheavy batteries pound it. The second shot actually punches through and rips a gash in the hull (200K makes it through, reducing hull kills to 1270 and armor SP to 68)

The transport manages to get in the way of its rear heavy battery, and pays a heavy price. The smaller but still significantly larger than yours beams of crimson plasma claw it almost to pieces (leaving it with 52 Kills and 18 SP armor)

The Yamato must have finished what it was ordered to do, because it is slowly but steadily approaching the battle, its own guns coming to bear though not in range yet.

You feel a sense of confidence. A sense of righteousness. You are going to prove to the galaxy what worth you have.

Amuro starts out as a little bitch and turns into a manly man. If you make it through the desert arc and to Odessa Day, you're golden.

Yeah, Amuro gets pretty beast. It helps that Zeon kept throwing useless shit at him over and over, so he levels up. Char is pretty damn scary.

Galbadie goes all out, his ship jigging and juking in a way that really does make you believe he's controlling it like his own body. The storm of fire is wreaking havoc on his surviving mecha as they try to throw themselves in the way and foul your aim.

Not only does he dodge everything both ships throw at him, he lands a hit on the Rhinehawk, burning out the shield for the time being. It doesn't matter, you have another thirty seconds or so before he's out of the Jaburo's range.

The transport goes up in a brilliant fireball, killing more of the Green Skulls. Some of your mecha are damaged from the sporadic skirmishes between Harpies, Bluegills, Scimitars, and Tulwars, but they retreat rather than get killed uselessly.

You do the same, deftly aileroning around his answering shots and pinging his hull. The Jaburo fires a volley, and one of its crimson plasma lances tears another gouge in the Agamemnon's hull.

You can see him staring at the rear view monitor, which is his last, fatal mistake.

"KISAAAAAAMAAAAAA! TAKE THIS, VENGEANCE FOR TEN NAKAMA WHO WILL NEVER BE WITH US AGAIN! THESE MISSILES CARRY THEIR BLAZING WARRIOR SPIRIT, OUR LOVE, OUR SORROW, AND ALL OF OUR ANGER! STORM DRAGONS, HABABIIIIIIII!"

"HANAAAAAAABI!" The Storm Dragons echo gleefully, as Galbadie turns his head just in time to see the ten-pack of missiles the Yamato is unloading in his direction.

With no shield, and his ship badly damaged, he stares down the three coming directly for his bridge, "By...by fucking Oda Yorito-" His disbelief and apparent disgust are ended along with his life as the vidcomm feed from his ship turns to static and the sky turns brilliantly pink.

Maya is standing in the doorway, staring at you with lovestruck eyes and a plate of your favorite brownies. You smile awkwardly at her and she sighs happily, "Oh Pooka..." You almost forget your post-battle snacks as she sets the food down and throws herself into your arms.

Two small shapes detach from the Yamato, skirting the debris cloud and heading for the Rhinehawk. A malingering Green Skulls Harpy takes aim at the smaller shape and promptly has its torso kicked to cosmic ash by the larger figure. Holding hands, the Knuckle Kaiser and the Harpy reach the Rhinehawk's bays. A few minutes later, one of the Kestrels calls out "Admiral on deck!" and you disentangle yourself from Maya to stand up and salute, marks from her lipstick peppered all over your face.

Admiral Starwind is standing in the doorway...and abruptly, you are him again, and you have vidcomms with all of the surviving vessels. The Green Skulls are gone, wiped from the Belt just like you promised, even as you watch the combined mecha complement of three ships systematically wipes the stragglers out to the last man. A few streak off into space, but there's nowhere for them to go or return to, and the pursuit from your own Harpies and the high-speed striped mech from the Jaburo guarantees most of them will die of cockpit hits or powerplant ruptures rather than starving in the void.

Well, let's start with a simple status report. No damages to the ship itself, casualties on our side low, stragglers and fleeing ships have been dealt with. The first mate's mech is gone, ripped to shreds, but likely to return. Of course, he will return alone.

The skulls are buried, and with them, the worries of those who suffered against them. Still, let's have a moment of silence for those lost to them. Once that is done and we clean up the scrap and stragglers, I say we have a proper celebration.

As a side, did Oda find anything from that one transport? Not expecting much, but getting some info may be good.
>>
>>47500195
>"I want to say that This was a hard won fight, and that I'm surprised we pulled through, but it wasn't and I'm not. From the moment I laid eyes on the Agamemnon, I knew that this was Vladimir Galbade's last day on this side of the Styx."

Considering everyone would get to see the fat bastard's speech and looks, they'd probably agree with us.

>>
>>47500446
And they were super valiant at that! The Green Skulls, or spies whatever, sabotaged their shit and yet they fought on to victory!

I can only imagine when this gets uploaded

>"While negotiating for the release of Samantha Blanchett, the Green Skulls attacked and used cloaking technology to approach and disable the Jaburo and attempted to destroy Auditorium, were it not for the quick thinking and action of Roarke Starwind and Colonel Hatsheput it is likely great losses would be felt in both the celebrity and military community."

And the Fairchild screams so loud Stern shudders. Not only will everyone know some fuckin pirate mooks have cloaking tech, but they almost pulled one over on the military.
>>
>tfw you realize Fairy probably put Cake here because she shot down her advances
>>
>>47500480
thats assuming that it stops there. Really, we should time the info release to when we do the Fatima exchange. If he tries something, thinking the skulls are waiting... well, if he's a member of the fair child faction, that'd be some bad pr.
>>
>>47500480

You know, Gretchen is still on Auditorium, probably getting some amazing footage.
>>
>>47500446
The mission was to negotiate with Roarke Starwind for the safe return of Corporal Blanchett and the S-Betta. If Sarwind's Ships, or Auditorium were to be destroyed, then the Corporal would be dead and the Betta would be destroyed.
the Green Skulls were a target of opportunity/ self defense. the death of Galbade was an added bonus, allowing the JCSIDF to eliminate one of the key threats to stability to the region. A threat that they were already planning on eliminating.
why would General Fairchild be displeased with this turn of events? :^)

>>47500555
Simple; because it wasn't her. She didn't kill the green skulls. She didn't stop the pirate threat. She didn't rescue the Betta. It was Ms. Cake and the A team. She has gained zero fame for this and likely just made a major contender for General. Not only that, but it will draw away attention from her B team to the A. That includes mechanics and funding.

>>47500590

How stupid do you think she looks to her partners right now? How long until they find someone who can do her job better? How long until she gets shit kick back to the extrasolar group and out of our hair?
>>
>>47500758
How long until she mounts an all out offensive against us? assuming she isn't already on her way.

Nnnnoooot exactly. We likely just halved her entire work force. She lost a high end crew and hundreds of mechs with nothing to gain. No results and her big speeches basically being hot air will absolutely KILL her momentum in getting people to join the army. If her supporters are found doing nasty shit, then she will likely lose her position.

I'd love to see her go rouge. We can go turducken with her ship as it's added to the growing corpse pile of our flag ship.

"I'd like to start with a moment of silence. Even a victory like this can't bring back those we've lost...but I can feel them smiling at us." You bow your head, and so does everyone you can see, even the UJCIDF bridge crew.

Eventually, you raise your head again, "But after sorrow comes remembrance. After night comes the dawn. Against all odds, we won. Avi, Oda, attach some tow cables and get the Jaburo over to Auditorium for repairs. We couldn't have done it without you, ma'am, and I'm sure Rosita will agree." You nod to the Colonel, who titters and salutes giddily back with the hand that isn't furiously petting Mohammed. "Everyone, let's finish our cleanup, pick up the salvage, get back to Auditorium and help out where we can...and then we get drunk and party loud enough that Captain Ozark hears us on Olympus!"

You aren't as happy as you look, you need to find out what happened to Cassius, but...right now, you've seen the end of the Green Skulls, and you were on the Yamato when it blasted the Agamemnon to flinders. Today, you're the victor.

Monday

>My cutie darling

Why do I feel like we've missed something
>>
So how do we keep Sam without ultimate dishonor, guys?

I like the cute trap and her cute trap butt.
>>
>>47501002
She was out piloting the Tarrasque.
>>
>>47500991
WHAT?
WHEN?
WHO DID THIS!?
>>
>>47501002

She calls the Tarrasque that.
>>
>>47501002
She took the thingy out. The uh. The fuckin walking Ball of Guns.

I'm drawing a blank here.
>>
>>47501001
Laser pistols inside the index fingers and laser cannons in the palm

The big zam.
>>

>>47500959

Thoughts?
>>
>>47500979
Been working on a few. The Rook and Cardinal. Rook is a more defense heavy mech designed for rushing in and providing cover. The cardinal is a lighter model, using a specialized beam rifle that can also shoot down missiles.

Was even working on the design for a 'draw style' beam sword. Can be used every other turn, but it does crazy damage due to that.

>>47500991
no info on the one ship Oda caught up to? Ah well.
>>
>>47501001

Would this mech perchance be yellow?
>>
>>47500000
Witnessed!
>>
>>47501026
Here. Lemme help you with that.
>>
GAME RESUMES MONDAY! MONDAY! MONDAY!

>>47500959

My absent sides confirm this meme might become reality.

>>47501042

SOON, the battle just ended.
>>
On a scale of one to ten, how cuddly is Fatima?
>>
>>47500959
The child is going to have the fluffiest hair.
>>
>>47501042
>yfw I was also thinking about chess based mechs
Most of them are just rip offs of zeons stuff though. The king was going to be a big fuck off mech with mega particle guns for fingers and four great big maneuverable shields with lots of small beam guns integrated into them.
>>
>>47501118
Well, Rook and Cardinal are both birds as well. Nightingale would be a high mobility type designed for scouting and sniping with better sensors to find hidden targets.Hit and run being it's main design point.
>>
>>47501031
Might as well give it chest laser shots and head ones too. Get in close and just molest mechs.
>>
>>47501044
No comment.
>>
>>47501166
would also be missing an arm?
also nice dub dubs
>>
>>47501108
Since it's very likely she was the mystery lady who cuddled us in the dark? I'd say very.

He could just make it the capule.

Thanks for running!

We admit to the forbidden love once Anon stops being shy about it.

Marry that girl. Make Sam head wife.
>>
>>47501206
Indeed he could, but that would defeat the purpose of creating your very own mech eh?
>>
>>47501005
Marriage. Regardless of medical procedure discussions. Sam is a wonderful waifu. Keep the smile alive!
>>
>>47501226
>>47501243
>implying Clemmy would allow it, or at the very least not be first wife
>>
>>47501243

What do you call that feeling when you can't pick a best girl because they're all cute?
>>
>>47501206

Inferior to the mighty borjarnon.
>>
>>47501305
Pah! It doesn't even have a crotch cannon.
>>
>>47501336

And when did the pitiful Inglessans manage to figure out how to make the crotch cannon work? Because I remember them using wheeled artillery with their kapools like a bunch of plebs against Will Game, while GLORIOUS LUZIANNAN troops were taking down a SUMO using the superior borjarnon.
>>
>>47501402
Technically my capule is from Z or ZZ or something. The Kapool is from turn A.
>>
>>47501273
Implying we wouldn't bomp Clemmy into submission by then, or have one big fat pirate wedding.
>>
>>47501291
Heaven.
>>
>>47501305
>>47501336
Let's all agree that there is a decidedly lack of enough gun there, it doesn't even have head vulcans! There is plenty available space for gun. Crotch importance assured of course.

>Roarke wakes up one morning and ALL the girls are looming over his bed

The toughest challenge yet.

I don't think we got lucky.
>>
>>47501514
We will "rise" to the occasion. Ahem.

Hey Wong, I found this picture in /m the other day, I think other than the gun it kinda looks like drawanon's Knuckle Kaiser picture.

What do you think?
