It's been literally a year. Check the archives. LITERALLY A YEAR. I am so sorry.

You watch the diminutive Wiesel armoured weapons carrier crest the lip of the crater, kicking up a wave of dust that makes your Geiger counter click agitatedly. Your Leopard 1 follows after it, climbing the dusty, glassed wall of earth. You find yourself once again above ground in the Brandenburg Wastelands.

Your name is Robert Bradley, and you are a Tank Hunter, a Bounty Hunter-cum-Mercenary roaming the nuclear wastelands of Europe. You're on a job right now, a rescue mission of two kidnapped, diminutive Wiesel drivers by the name of Bernie and Nancy, taken by bandits to Magdeburg, deep in the wastelands. You, and your crew, along with a convoy of another tank and a pair of supply vehicles, have embarked from Fulda, and you are now traversing the ruins of Leipzig. You just drove across ground zero, the Kursdorf crater, an airport which took a direct from a 100MT bomb over a century ago.

You finally clear yourself of the Leipzig city limits, and back in the open wasteland. The scorched remains of the old highway stretch out before you. It's now a straight line over the open wastes to Magdeburg, but a clear area for you to be ambushed, especially by the bandit outpost in Halle. You'll need to proceed carefully.

>Send your recon platoon ahead as pathfinders and rangers, they can spot enemy contact before the enemy spots you
>Keep your recon close by but in the lead, and drive in a wide wedge. You need to concentrate what little firepower you have
>Lead with your tanks. Your Leo 1 and Type 74 head first, with the Wiesels taking up the rear and keeping an eye out for any tails

If anyone's forgotten that shit (IT'S BEEN A FUCKING YEAR), I can post the recon brief again. I'm not even sure if I posted it the first time, but I can post it again.

it might help

and now this anon needs to duck off for some errands, good to see this running again

Alright, expected contact:
Significant amount of BMP-2s of old vintage, salvaged from the wastelands and in various states of repair. Some T-55s, though most were destroyed in the raid on Fulda a few days ago. A pair of T-62s, one of which you disabled and captured back at Fulda. Most of the forces were destroyed when they attack Fulda, but there's probably a good amount hanging around.

Your forces:
Leopard 1 (roughly A4 equivalent)
Type 74
Two Wiesels, one with 20mm autocannon (Pearl's) and one with TOW launcher
A pair of supply MT-LBs

Well this vote is unanimous.

Since it's been ages and some people need to catch up, I'll have voting times be a tad longer than usual, unless it's unanimous like this one.
>>
Since a lot of people need catching up, and I'm eating, I'll post a few character reintroductions.

First up, Susan Lowell! Mechanic, and your driver! She fixed up tanks for a living in Dresden, before she was chased out of town by the Dark Riders because she refused to do business with them!

You key your radio over your company channel. "Alright, combat platoons form a wedge shape, wiesels in the lead, tanks on the flank. Supply, follow us at a safe distance. Keep an eye on our backs."
You get a pair of affirmations from your comrades, but your supply element speaks up.
"This is Rubber Duck to Fury, our MO means we stay back in safety when the fighting starts. We'd prefer to do that before, and not after, we start getting shot at."
You think for a moment. "Good call, Rubber Duck, you head back to Leipzig and find a place to hide out for a while."
"Roger that Edelweiss, but before we do, what's your fuel situation look like?"
Shit. "Susan, you catch that?"
"I did, Bradley," she says. "We've got a decent amount of fuel left, enough to get us to Magdeburg, but it would leave us with roughly 100km left of fuel range once we get there, and we'll be fighting. It might be good to fuel up sooner rather than later."
"Thanks Susan."

Von Grimm's fancy tones chimes in over the radio. "Our fuel situation is approaching dire, Edelweiss. It would be wise for us to refuel soon, as I am afraid that we are approaching the very limits of our range!"
Rubber Duck chimes in over the radio again. "It's up to you, buddy. We're not adverse to resupply in radzones, or in combat."

>Let them fuel you up now, in CBRN gear
>Drive halfway to Magdeburg, so you're out of the radiation zone, then let them refuel and return to Leipzig on their own.

"Alright, we'll do it this way," you say. "Rubber Duck will stay with us until we get out of the hot zone, then we'll stop and refuel before continuing without them."
"Copy that," your comrades reply.
"Alright, formation as I said, let's move out."
Your wedge of tanks kicks up a lot of dust. You're not worried about radioactivity, but you are worried about getting spotted. You lead your company further north, away from Halle, hopefully away from any prying eyes.

A tense half hour later, it seems you're clear of the main radiation zone of Leipzig. You hold the formation and bring up the MT-LBs to start refueling. You don't unbutton your hatch yourself, wary of any lingering dust particles. Instead you observe as the supply crew comes out in full gear, tracking fuel hoses out to your vehicle. The refueling process doesn't take that long, though it's longer than you'd like, being stuck out here. The village ruins are barely enough cover for you to feel safe, and you want to get moving before anything untoward shows up.

Unfortunately you're not given that wish as one of the supply men run up to your vehicle, waving their arms and gesturing for you to open the hatch.

The man, in his agitation, starts doing jumping jacks to get your attention, in his full NBC suit. You just gesture back through your cupola, hoping he sees the movement. He seems to, as he starts gesticulating wildly.
'Open the fucking hatch!'
You start pointing at his MT-LB then pantomiming calling someone on a phone. He shakes his head, throws his hands up in the air, and throws you the twin bird as he runs back to his vehicle.

And then you hear the buzzing as something passes overhead.
"What the fuck!?" several people exclaim, both inside your tank and over the radio.
"We've got a fuckin helicopter, ladies and gents!" comes the voice of Rubber Duck, having reached his radio.
"Susan, gun it!" you yell.
"Already a step ahead of you," she replies, thumbing the starter and sending the tank lurching forwards. Outside, one of the supply men is reeling up a fuel hose as Grimm's tank belches smoke, its fueling finished.
The helicopter comes around for another pass, clods of dirt and dust being thrown up as it strafes you with tracer. Your tank resists the machine gun fire easily, but you realise that the supply vehicles and your two wiesels might not be so lucky.

"Everyone scatter!" you call, and you watch as all the tanks drive off in different directions, the Wiesels seemingly melting away among the houses. You rapid fire your orders to your crew. "Susan, weave left and right, don't let them draw a bead. Sarah, I'm acquiring your target!"
"Roger that," says Sarah from her permission just in front and below you.
You slew the turret around with your own commander's controls, trying to find the enemy flier. You catch him in your sights. "Got him! 030, high!"
"I see him!" Sarah says. She fires off a burst of coaxial, but the helicopter is too fast, and her shots fall short.
"Lead him, you need to lead the target!" you cry.
She manages to get the turret ahead of the helicopter and fire a burst, but it's ineffective, not doing any significant damage.

The helo makes a pass on your supply vehicles, spraying them with machine gun fire.
"Rubber Duck, status?"
"No holes in us! Can't check the fuel tanks from inside, though!"
"Dammit," you say.
"I can't keep track of him," Sarah says. "The traverse isn't fast enough."
You have an FN MAG on your hatch pintle, but it would mean opening the hatch.

>Open the hatch, get on the gun

As more rounds prang off your turret roof, you feel your anger rising. "YOU'RE ASKING FOR IT NOW, BUDDY! SARAH!"
"YES?" she asks, startled.
"IF YOU GET A CHANCE TO SHOVE A SHELL DOWN HIS THROAT, DON'T HESITATE."
"ROGER THAT, SIR!"
"EVERYONE GET YOUR MASKS ON!" You wait until everyone confirms that they're air-tight, then you open the hatch.
You get on the MAG immediately, rack the slide, and open up. "GET SOME!" Your tracers go wide at first, but eventually you get a bead on him, filling the air with lead. The helo pilot breaks off on his run towards your supply vehicles, and wheels around, coming straight towards you. He's intending to make a run on you instead.

>This is your chance, keep the fire up!

As the bastard turns head-on towards you, you see your chance to open up on him. You don't let up, flinging rounds at him, but his rate of movement is a bit too fast for you to keep the lead. Your shells fall just a bit behind him as he charges in towards you. Sarah is elevation the gun and tracking him, hoping to get him with a burst of coaxial, or with a lucky shot of the main gun. You keep firing, seeing each tracer get closer and closer, and then your gun stops firing.

"Shit!" You cry. You're out. "Erich, pass me another can of ammo! Quickly!"
Sarah fires off another burst, but stops too. "Fuck, I'm out of coax!" She double takes, looking back at you with wide eyes. You grab at the hatch and shut it. It may only be 7.62, but your roof isn't the most heavily armoured. Sarah begins to elevate the gun, her foot is tapping violently, trying to draw a bead on the bastard buzzard, but it's too slow. She's almost on target, but the buzzard is almost on top of you, but she nearly has the shot!
"SARAH SARAH COME ON GIRL YOU GOT THIS TAKE THE SHOT-"
She fires-
The casing comes flying out of the breech-
The shell MISSED-!
>DAK DAK DAK DAK

The helicopter goes sailing down in flames, and crashes into the ground, gouging out a path before exploding in burning fuel and ammunition. You see Pearl's little wiesel driving towards you, its 20mm gun tracking the burning flier.
"HAHA, I NAILED THE BAST- um, baddie," Pearl calls out over the radio.
"PEARL, I COULD FUCKING KISS YOU RIGHT NOW!" you tell her.
"Eep!?"
"No time to celebrate," comes another woman's voice, the commander of the other wiesel in your company. "We've got a massed dust cloud to the north. The cavalry is coming!"
