(First things first, unlike Fledgling Super Quest, this is not an original setting. I am actually using a variation of rules from Mecha: the RPG and one of the 3 base settings within the book that I own. Don't be a cheater and spoil the surprise for those looking to play. Besides a setting is just a suggestion.)

The corrupt Prince Arion Mannis will rule Destiny Arbor. Only the Separatist Guard stand in his way.

You are Mallory Arget, the naive cadet recently transferred to the Logistics and Command Unit known as Autumn Squadron. You have just taken a peek at one of the mechs used by the Separatist Guard and are looking at the others around the massive hangar.

As you finish your inspection of your choices, you are approached by Captain Knight once more. "Well, kid, have you come to a decision? We don't have that much time to kill before you are to report down on base."

You don't miss a beat in your reply as you had made up your mind the instant you finished your inspection.

"I choose the Break Wolf." You confidently announce to the Captain. He chuckles in amusement at your choice. "Something in common with Lt. Hall. Hope you aren't as much of a show off as he is. The base can only hold so much ego at once." He pats you on the shoulder and moves you down the line to the last of the Break Wolf mechs in the hangar. Seems the one you were scoping out was either taken or just a show piece. "This one will be yours then." He starts to leave you before stopping and turning to relay some parting words. "Once you get acquainted with your machine and adjust to her, report to the surface coordinates plugged into her nav. Your commanding officer will want to say 'Hi.' Anyway, I need to get back to my men. Later!"

You again furrow your brow. You aren't sure what he meant by "adjust to her" and his lax farewell suggests he doesn't take this position as seriously as you would think someone would. You shake the worries from your head for the moment and look back at your machine. There isn't too much that separates the Break Wolf from the Grave Hound aesthetically, but its the heart and muscle of the machine that defines it. That and the close combat weaponry. You step into the cockpit and, for the first time, flip the switch activating the AIMS. Your head is abuzz with the sensation of your perception stretching. Your sense of spacial awareness shifts abruptly, making you feel queasy, but you don't have time to think about it as a smothering cold and screeching echo crawls through your head. Your body spasms as you feel it. You truly feel the Break Wolf. It calls out to you wordlessly in your head. It whispers out its name to you.
