It's been a while, so here's a summary:

You're Rachel Li, an 18-yeard old college freshman who's gotten mixed up with some paranormal affairs. You've been recruited to the Paranormal Investigation Bureau, where you actually don't really do much except watch out for anything weird happening on-campus and otherwise stay on call for anything big that happens.

Personally, you were infected by some kind of fae disease when someone sent you to a brothel to subdue and capture a fae. Of course, being the risk-taking, paranormal-loving, kind of dumb you, you dyed your hair and did as they asked of you, because you really wanted to find out if the paranormal was real.

And it was, and you kind of messed up badly, but you managed to get out of your situation with a slight favor owed to the fae who infected you. You currently have the ability to force your body to modify itself by thinking really hard, along with a "reservoir" of power of sorts that powers that ability that you can kind of keep track of by a vague sense in your mind. So far, it seems the reservoir gets filled little by little whenever you managed to convince people, trick people, or inflict violence upon them. Summer, the fae who infected you, hinted that anything that would give you large amounts of pleasure would also fill your reservoir by large amounts, hint hint, but you aren't willing and currently don't need to take that road anytime soon.

The reservoir currently feels almost full enough to make a medium-sized "glamour", by which you mean you might be able to grow another limb or a tail or something. Unfortunately, glamour has upkeep costs, and the bigger the glamour, the more it costs. However, the bigger the glamour, the harder it is to break, which means that another limb might be able to take a few more hits than a glamour that just hardens your skin or something of the like.

(1/?)
>>
>>48328430
Currently, the glamours you're keeping active is one enhancing you muscle power, which allowed you to effortlessly subdue mark, and another one enhancing your overall stamina, which was enough for you to outrun Liza, at least for a mile or two. The costs of both glamours are decreasing as you keep them active, and you can feel them slowly becoming more solid and less likely to break the longer you keep them up.

Otherwise, you've also had a lot of practice improving your sensory glamour, by which you mean you had an extremely successful and somewhat traumatic training session in the girl's bathroom. Still, you find it easy enough to enhance your touch, vision, hearing, and smell, although you haven't tried taste yet and you're not sure if you want to.

Two odd things have happened with your glamour so far. One, you were able to mostly ignore the pain from the gigantic, stiched-up gash on your back you received when Summer infected you. Two, there was a moment where you were testing your endurance while racing Liza back when you feel as though you managed to use your glamour to create energy reserves out of thin air. Both will probably need more testing for you to be sure of the results.

Your friends at school are Laura, Mark, Chloe, Liza, Alice, and Caroline.

Liza is a girl you bumped into at your dining hall who seems to have gotten zombified off of a suspicious protein bar. You brought her an a trip to Chinatown to secure pig brains when she couldn't stomach normal food, beat up a suspicious ghoul-like cab driver, and then had your bureau check her out and verify that she had increased strength, endurance, and a weird kind of blood. By the end of the trip, you found out that pig brains did seem to cure her hunger and let her eat normal foods for a bit, and the two of you also went out for some ice cream afterwards.

She's got short, white-blonde hair and dark hazel eyes, and is about as tall as your 5' 6", maybe an inch taller.

(2/3)
>>
>>48328448
Laura is your friend from high school, who is going out with Mark, a friend from college and apparently some kind of incubus. You had a bit of an argument with him when he accidentally attempted to seduce you, but you managed to get him to shut up and stay silent when you beat him down and persuaded him that things would go poorly if he told his people about you.

Laura is a little shorter than you, with black hair and brown eyes. Mark is a few inches taller than you, with a toned body, dark green eyes, and brown hair.

Chloe is a friend you met at college. She's an art student and kind of mischievous, and she's the one who brought the alcohol for the little party you had with your friends before winter break.

She's about the same height as you, with sky-blue eyes and dark hair that's usually in a ponytail.

(3/4)
>>
>>48328467
Caroline is someone you met on the bus heading back to school, who made really weird cryptic comments about "things in the air" and wore a large furry cloak she made by herself. She's mostly normal otherwise, and invited you once to come watch a movie or something with her but you turned her down because you were kind of busy and it sounded like she had a date with her.

She's pretty tall, maybe around six feet, and has red hair and blue eyes.

Alice is your roommate, and then one you just went on a mini-road trip with to her house for winter break. She seems like one of those shut-in video gamers, but it turns out she also likes to go camping, hunting, and makes sure to work out and stay fit in general. You went home with her over break because her father, who's a police officer, hadn't called her in a week or so. It happens, sometimes, because he gets really busy with cases, but Alice is still slightly worried and you elected to go check with her to make sure everything was okay.

She's pretty short, maybe 5' 2", and she's got green eyes, short brown hair, and looks kind of small and cutesy overall. She also introduced you to a wider selection of video games, which is nice, and she's a good friend.

Thanks! And I did, sort of, by being busy with school. Even more busy over the summer, but I've decided to make myself run on the weekends instead of just playing video games and reading.

Such productivity is heart-warming to see! The trick is picking a game that lends itself to being put down, like turn-based stuff, and playing after you post.

Right now, after a uneventful drive during which you're relatively sure no one was following you, you're at Alice's house. The two of you ate some food at some kind of Mexican place, and now it's about six o'clock.

The house is an average two-story suburban house, with a front porch and large windows facing the street along with a spacious driveway and garage. The lawn looks neat and well-maintained, although a bit yellow due to the ongoing drought.

The two of you grab your luggage and proceed to the front steps, where Alice rings the doorbell and waits for a few seconds with a hopeful look on her face. No one answers, so she pulls out a set of keys and unlocks the door, ushering you inside.

The interior is just as neat as you expected it to be, and there are a few pictures of Alice and the person who is presumably her father above the fireplace. In the pictures her father looks to be clean-shaven, with a strong jawline and a buzzcut. They're both holding hunting rifles in the picture with what seems to be a deer in front of them. You don't examine the picture too closely, in case it gets awkward.

"So, um, this is my house," Alice says. "Feel free to eat whatever's in the fridge. Pitcher's on the counter, and help yourself to the fruit and stuff."

You nod. "Thanks."

Let's clarify plans so we can tailor our schedule for the next few days!
How long is this break anyway, we staying here a weekend, a week?
>>
Thanks for running.
>>
>>48328670
Your parents were fine with you staying however long you wanted, because they're pretty happy that you're making friends so fast in college.

Alice is staying home for the break, since she has no reason to go back to school during it anyways.

You've packed enough clothes and toiletries to stay for as long as necessary.

Alice doesn't seem to mind you staying for the break.
>>
>>48328717
Huh, alright. Well we can see what happens then, not like we're gonna leave in a day or two anyway.

This is a pretty good question too, I'll back it. Might get us some more info about the situation.
>>
>>48328507
I kinda figured you'd run on akun. Still this is fine.
>>
>>48329088
Honestly, I think I might ask people if they want to run here or on akun, because I don't know the extent of the overlap between /tg/ and akun and I'd like to see what the majority thinks before I do anything.
>>
>>48329121
I don't really mind either way. Akun chat is a bit more shitposty but also more active. That said I don't follow your other quest there so I dunno what the experience there is.
>>
>>48329149
It gets very salty at times for certain quests, but I think my quest has been okay. The chat is usually pretty productive most of the time.
>>
>>48329121
This chat is generally better, but akun might be more popular.

Biggest advantage akun has is the timer till next run. But having a twitter counters that if you just announce in advance.
>>
>>48329163
I see. Well you might as well run it the place you find easiest/best really.
>>
>>48329163
>It gets very salty at times for certain quests,
Only promises of power and that would probably be salty if it ran on 4chan.
>>
>>48329181
>>48329210

I don't really mind either way, but Akun is easier to access than archives and things generally do get more viewers there. I get about ~40 or so for my other quest, while this one doesn't get nearly as much haha.
>>
>>48329239
Pokegirl trainer suffered a horrible death very quickly.
>>
>>48329242
Oh, that much? Well, there's no guarantee this one would get as much, maybe the other one appeals to more anons or something. But I suppose it probably wouldn't hurt at least.

>>48329256
I glanced at that one and it sadly looked really badly written, so I'm surprised it got heated enough for salt at all.
>>
>>48329276
Agreed, it was weird, don't know what the anons expected.

Hm yeah, I'll just ask. I actually didn't expect the other quest to get so decently popular, especially since it's not marked NSFW and doesn't have smut or anything.
>>
"So, uh, what were you planning on doing over the break?" you ask her.

She rummages through the fridge, frowning as she pulls out a peach. "Actually, don't help yourself to the fruit," she says. "I think Dad forgot to throw them away, he eats out too much for his own good." She blinks. "Oh, uh, I dunno. Just playing video games and going outside for a bit, probably. It doesn't snow much around here, so we can go camping or something if you want."

"Sounds interesting," you tell her. "That would be fun. Where am I sleeping, anyways?"

"Guest room," she says, tossing a bag of peaches into the trash. "I'll show you after I clean this up."

You nod, crouching over to help her looking through the fridge. "So your dad's a police officer?" you ask her, pulling out a container of yogurt and looking for the expiration date.

"Yup. He usually comes home pretty late, and sometimes he just takes a nap in his chair at the station." She shakes her head when you show the expiration date, and you toss that out too.

"Uh, isn't today Sunday?" you ask her.

She grins ruefully. "Cops work weekends too," she says, brushing her hands over the trash can before washing them in the sink. "He's like a sergeant or something, so he has to supervise people, and he doesn't like taking time off."

"Dang," you say, also washing your hands.

The guest room she shows you is nice, spacious, and about the size you normally expect. The bed is all neat and tidy, with thick covers and a stack of blankets folded into a square at the foot of the bed. There's a desk in the room, too, with a lamp, and there's an overhead light and a fan.

"Well, this is your room," Alice says as you flop onto the bed. "You like it?"

"Mmmm," you mutter into the bed. "Yeah, it's pretty comfy."

Alice chuckles. "Well, is there anything else you want to ask me? I was thinking we could play some video games or something and head to bed early, and then we can go surprise Dad at the station tomorrow morning."

"Hmm, well, can I just wander around your house for a bit?" you say, grinning. "I'm kind of curious about you do at home."

"...I don't really have anything interesting," Alice says, shrugging. "I'm on the computer most of the time anyways."

"Still," you insist.

Alice rolls her eyes. "Alright, fine, I'll take you on a tour of Alice's House. That'll be fifty dollars." She holds out her hand.

You high-five her, and she tsks but shows you around anyways. Her room isn't very decorated, featuring nothing more than a few old toys and books on her bookshelf along with a teddy bear on her bed. She pats the teddy bear while you look around and make obligatory "oohing" and "aahing" sounds.

The hallways are honestly more interesting, as they're lined with pictures of Alice and her father that she coughs and tries to get you to look away from. There are a few pictures of her dad looking younger and with longer hair with another woman, who presumably is Alice's mother going by their similar looks.

Lots of the scenes are outdoors, whether its kayaking or cliffdiving or...

"Is that a picture of you skydiving?" you ask her in awe.

"Yeah," Alice says, shrugging, but there's a smile on her face. "That was interesting. I think Dad almost chickened out right before we jumped, but it wasn't too dangerous because we had to jump with like two instructors anyways."

"Was it fun?" you ask.

"Definitely."

In the garage, she shows you where the camping equipment is kept in large boxes. The boxes are made of thick plastic, and there are pieces of tape with names "ALICE COLGAN" and "LEE COLGAN" written on them. There are even little wheels and handles that would allow someone to wheel them around with relative ease.

"It keeps all the camping stuff from deteriorating," she explains.

She then points to another large locked cabinet. "The gun safe is behind here," she says. "Don't mess around with it, alright?"

(1/2)
>>
>>48330769
You nod, and she unlocks it, unlocks the safe inside, and shows you the collection of guns. There are two rifles, two pistols, two shotguns, and a few boxes of ammo on the shelves in the safe.

"Uh, so yeah, don't touch these guns. At all. Like, seriously, look, but don't touch."

You nod respectfully. You don't really know what model or caliber any of them are, but they look, um, like guns.

Alice closes the safe, locks it, locks the cabinet, and then locks the garage door when the two of you leave. There isn't anything else of interest in the garage, aside from the white jeep in the garage that you drove here in. Apparently, her dad gets to take his cop car home, so Alice gets her own car to use.

"Well, there isn't really anything else," Alice says, clearly itching to get to her computer.

"Hmm," you drawl, purposefully prolonging her suffering, and she glares at you. "Any friends you're gonna meet up with over the break?"

"Oh," she says, surprised. "Um, well, I have one friend I was planning on meeting up with. Her name's Sam. I was going to meet her Wednesday or something, but we don't really have anything planned. She's still a senior in high school."

You nod. "Do I get to meet her?"

"No, of course not. I'm just going to leave you at home while I go off to have fun," Alice snarks.

You can't help but laugh at that.

After a snack and some fruit juice of dubious quality, you play some video games with her in her room, since both of you brought your laptops. As planned, the two of you call it a night quite early, at about eleven, since you currently plan on getting up around six, having breakfast, and then heading over to the police station.

Morning comes around, and after a quick shower and going to Alice's room and shaking her awake, the two of you end up sitting at the dining table. Alice looks half-dead, a towel around her neck as she sits there in her tank top and shorts.

She points to the top of the fridge where the cereal is kept, and you grab it for her and take the milk of the fridge.

"Huh, guess this milk hasn't expired yet," you mention, pouring it into your bowl.

Alice says something like "uh-huh", but you can't really tell. You pour her some cereal and some milk.

"Oh, it says it's ultra-pasteurized. That makes sense, I guess," you say, taking a spoonful of cereal.

Alice grumbles.

After a bit more pointing and turning on the coffee machine, Alice finally wakes up as she gulps down her steaming concoction.

"So are we taking the car?" you ask Alice.

She nods, and then yawns. "Yeaaah. You wanna drive again, and I'll give you the directions?"

"Sure. How far is it, anyways?"

Alice thinks for a moment. "Ten, fifteen minutes? It's only a couple of miles away."

"Sounds good," you tell her. "Let's go."

You finish your breakfast, wash the bowls in the sink, and the two of you grab your stuff before you head out. Alice doesn't seem to have anything on her, until you look closely at the side of her hip and notice a slight bulge.

"Uh... is that a pistol?" you ask her.

She grins. "I have a permit. Ten rounds in the magazine, one in the chamber, if you're wondering."

"Alright," you say. "That is, uh, scary."

She shrugs. "I'm not expecting anything, but, you know, just in case. It's always nice to be prepared."

"Right."

There aren't that many people on the road at this time of the morning, and the sky is just starting to brighten a little. Nothing happens during the drive, until you get near the station and there's a sign on the road that's blocking your way.

"Construction ahead?" you say, annoyed. "Come on."

"Weird," Alice comments.

You circle around the block and try to find another way to the station, only to find your way blocked by another sign.

"Alright, what the hell," you say.

"Let's just get out and go by foot," Alice says, reaching for the door. "We don't have anything we need to carry anyways."

"Let's do it," you agree, hopping out of the car.

You lock the doors and hand the keys off to Alice, who pockets them and surreptitiously checks her gun.

The police station is just up ahead, and you quickly begin walking down the street. Alice is keeping pace with you, and almost starts jogging as she keeps an eye out on her surroundings.

She's the one who first spots something, and nudges you to turn when she does so. There's a police car approaching you from behind, although the lights are off and it isn't going particularly fast.

When it catches sight of you, however, it starts to speed up. You're already in the station's parking lot, however, and if you sprint you could probably make it to the front entrance way ahead of the cop car coming down the street.

"You recognize the driver?" you ask Alice.

She shakes her head. "I don't think so, and it's too far and dark right now anyways. You wanna wait up for it?"

Sheesh everyone died. Well, I don't know if I should keep going, but maybe I'll do an update and see.

/tg/ questing has pretty much been dead since /qst/ better to just use akun now.
>>
>>48332457
Unfortunate. And /qst/ seems to be dead-ish as well? Maybe I should just port everything over to akun, previous threads and all?

Although some of the other threads seem to be doing fine, I just think I haven't ran for too long haha.

>Maybe I should just port everything over to akun
I would.
>>
"Nope," you say with a tight grin, and sprint for the front doors.

Alice seems surprised, but immediately starts running after you. The two of you make it there with time to spare, and the cop car still isn't nearby when you get there.

The station itself seems dark, from the cursory glance you're giving it. The front windows are tinted, so it's hard to see anything inside, but there doesn't seem to be anyone at the reception desk. There aren't any people sitting on the small couches and benches inside, either.

Alice seems to see the same thing you. "Time to go in, then?" she asks, a worried expression forming on her face.

Yeah, I think I'll start seeing how I'm going to go about doing that.

Go around the building and then head inside if we don't say anything

What?

Just go in.

Writing!

"Yeah," you say, pushing the door open.

Alice follows behind you, a hand at her hip as she watches the police car approach from behind.

From first impressions, the inside is weirdly slightly warm in contrast to the temperature outside. You can't hear anything right now, and it's dark enough inside that it's actually kind of hard to make out the "RECEPETION" writing on the wall above the desk.

Alice doesn't seem to be able to see anything either, giving you a shrug when you turn to look at her.

No sound, potential gunshots = bad.

RIP. Thanks for trying. I'll wait a little longer to see if there are any posts.

I'll be porting just the story to Akun, and see if I can get more people here next time. If not, I'll have to think about moving to Akun for this quest permanently.

...Good try, anon. I'll try this again in a while, hopefully next time will be better.

If you go on akun, keep an eye out there, I might switch to there if things are too dead here.

Thank for trying, though!

>>48335803
I had to go to sleep (probably like the rest of your viewers).
>>
Aww, I wake up to ded quest huh. Damn this inconvenient timezone.
>>
>>48336623
If I had a regular sleep cycle I'd be on time for this quest, but I don't.
>>
>>48336896
So it goes. Thread posted at 2AM here and stopped at 7AM, so a nice and normal cycle for me would have just made it even harder to participate it turns out.
>>
Should this thread be archived, or?
>>

Yeah just in case.
