>You are Princess Zelda, heir to the fallen throne of Hyrule

>Your father, corrupted by Power, died in a coup, your Kingdom shattered in a civil war 10 years ago, the Hero in Green giving his life to ensure you escaped the conflict

>An uneasy peace has returned to the land, but omens of a descent into greater chaos than before loom on the horizon

>You, Zelda Hyrule, have the potential to claim your birthright and restore the Kingdom to what it once was, bring back true peace to the lands. Your path ahead is not set in stone; you must chisel it in yourself. What kind of Legend will you create?

You look around the home you enter. Cozy place, about what you'd expect for a small home on a seaside village. A few trophy catches on the walls, some photographs, fishing lines... and strangely, mushrooms and a small stuffed raccoon. And then a voice calls from another room. "Lynna, I was getting worried! Ya haven't been sneaking off to find boys again have ya?"

Your friend's hand makes its acquaintance with her face. "Daaaaad."

A large, round man walks in, laughing. "I know, I know, can't help a father's teasing, can ya?" He takes notice of you. "...Oh. So it's girls this time?"

Her face reddens as her hand moves down from it, an annoyed glare directed at the man. "Dad, must you?"

"Hoho! But truly, I'm just glad ya're safe." he responds, approaching you. "Name's Albano."

" I am Termina. I'm from just outside of Kakariko." you tell him calmly, a respectful nod.

"Nice to meet ya, Termina! So what brings ya here? And where'd ya meet my sweet little Lynna?"

A. Explain what you've been through

Glad I made this thread. The threads on suptg are great!

"Lynna, I think he'd believe the story more if you told him what's happened."

She rubs the back of her neck. "Ah... well, remember how I got upset when the town's council started bickering? After people started getting sick and they couldn't decide on a course of action?"

The large man seems a little smaller as he looks at her with wide, worried eyes. "...Lynna, ya didn't..."

"W-well I had to! If they weren't going to do anything, I... I had to try!" the woman responds, brow furrowed. "I... went down to Zora's domain. Tried to find my way in, but didn't have any luck until I crashed into Termina here."

You smile. More like "fell like a drunken seagull." Still, you nod to confirm. "Managed our way in. Zora's Domain was... completely deserted."

"They left in a hurry because of it. Only ones left were a boy and his grandpa..." She goes on to retell you heading to the temple, noticeably leaving out the encounter with the horribly twisted Zora, and goes through the path you took in the Temple. The monsters you fought, how you both worked together to make your way through, though giving you most of the credit in the actual fights against the beasts.

Albano begins listening to the story with clear parental concern on his face, but by the time his daughter is done telling it, there's a noticeable degree of pride. With a warm smile and a fatherly hug, he tells his daughter, "Ye grow up too quickly for yer old man. Few would have the bravery to go through something like this."

"I-I was really just following Termina, dad. But... I guess I can say I'm glad I saw this through."

Albano turns to you next. "And you, young Termina! I am ever so thankful that you kept her safe, even for as young as you are." His expression becomes comically serious. "Just don't go dragging her off for more crazy stunts like that."

Lynna sighs. "Daaaaad."

You spend the rest of the night with them, the man cooking you up some fish for dinner, and greet the next day with the warm coastal sunrise waking you. Lynna seems to have already been up and going through swimsuits, trying to find one that'd fit you. She ends up with a pink one-piece. You do notice what she means by her normal tops being a little big for you. Bah. It's... fine, you're still young and developing.

As the two of you head for the waves, she asks you with a smile, "Haven't been to the ocean too much, have you?"

>>

"My first time, actually." you admit, looking at the crystal waters before you. A few ships seem to be heading out, most fishing boats by the look of it. Guess they have plenty more work to do with the waters free of that poison. A few more seem larger, like merchant ships. One even seems to be a steamship.

Lynna gives a teasing, slightly devious giggle. "Is that so? Well, a few things to know about the ocean. Currents can get pretty strong about three ships out, so try to stay by the more shallow waters. Crabs and rocks are to the east, by the cliff, so avoid those unless you want your feet to hurt for the next few days." She enters the water, a slight skip in her step.

You walk with her, the water much colder to the touch than it seems. "Anything else?"

With surprising swiftness, she quickly splashes some of the chilly water at you. "Always be on the watch for the waves!"

Ahh cold cold cold!

"V-very funny, Lynna!" you shout as you shiver slightly, and then, with a determined glare, tell her, "Just so you know, this means war." You chase after the woman, laughing as you splash back at her.

After a while of adjusting to the water's temperature, the sun helping along as it warms it, you both decide to relax, sitting together on a log as you dry off. Lynna stretches. "Faaah! That felt good! Nothing quite wakes you up like a morning swim."

You chuckle softly. "I do admit, it certainly helps refresh one's spirits."

She smiles sweetly at you, about to ask a question, but hesitates. She stares back at the sea, hands fidgeting. "...so, guess you're heading off soon. You still have that thing you need to do." Before you can give a response, she follows that up with a question. "Termina... why are you really doing all this? It's so much for someone as young as you to undertake..." She then gives an embarrassed look. "N-not that I doubt you! It's just... well, what are you going to do after this?"

Still a lot of fires to put out even after an apocalypse is averted. The people who manage the land in the wake of BBEGs are really the unsung heroes. Mismanagement of recovering kingdoms or power plays can easily set the stage for another disaster.

You think hard on how to say this. "...well, there are a lot of things. One I know for certain, though, is that I don't want people to suffer through another tragedy like the war. You... saw that happened in the Temple. What might happen to more people. I will do everything in my power to stop that." You give a determined glare at the horizon. "Afterwards... to be honest, I have no certain idea on what I'll do. But I know that this won't be the last threat to come to Hyrule. I'll do everything I can to keep the peace."

Lynna is clearly concerned for you, but seems to recognize what you're trying to do. She simply smiles, placing her hand on your shoulder. "Well, whenever you need a place to rest up, don't hesitate to come here again."

You giggle. "I shall not. You've been very kind, Lynna, and shown bravery in spite of your fears. I will meet you again, I promise."

After breakfast, you head off, deciding to...

>A. Stop in the town, check around, maybe sell that Poe...

You stop in the town, looking around for things to spend your hard-earned cash on, Lynna coming with you and showing you around. There are a few interesting places to see, local markets with fresh foods, a couple game shops, and even one store dedicated entirely to selling bananas. Lynna almost has to force herself to stay away from a place with a Crane Game, claiming she's a master of the place, but not wanting to waste your time as she shows off.

You do come across an item shop, and to your relief, it even has a bigger wallet for sale!

...at the price of 300 Rupees. Damn. There's also a Hookshot for sale, but it's at an even steeper 500 Rupees. The Poe soul would sell for 100 on its own, but maybe you can get a better deal for it elsewhere. Well, with the money Lynna is holding on to...

You decide to go for the Big Wallet, selling the Poe afterwards, and, in thanks for her aid, give Lynna 75 Rupees. A little over half of what you have left, as an extra bit of thanks. "Don't spend it all in one place." you tell her with a wink.

You notice her eyes quickly dart at the Claw Game place, but move back to you. "...I'll try my best not to!" she says with a cheeky smile.

You laugh at that. Ah, you're gonna miss her when you leave. Though you do wonder how Aveli's holding up. Heh, bet they'd get along. Romani and her sisters too. Dah, and you just remembered Viol had that Big Wallet at half off... oh well.

You give your goodbyes to Lynna, the woman ducking out of the way after she notices a crowd starting to follow her. The Keaton leaps from its mask. "Hee-hee-ho! Princess, you seem quite generous with those who are kind to you."

"I appreciated her help, and it is not like I cannot fill this wallet up on my own." you respond, walking forward as the fox increases in size. "We should head back here once I do, though. That Hookshot seems like it could come in handy, as Lynna herself proved."

"A focused mind, but is that all you wish to come back here for?" he asks with a chuckle. "No need to answer. Just keep it in mind, as you work to save Hyrule."

You hop on the Keaton. "Let us be off."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKMf5CQmzvs

You blitz through from the outskirts of the town, dashing at lightning speeds across Hyrule field. The wind in your hair, your heart racing slightly as the giant fox races across the land. You pass the entrance to the Lost Woods, briefly catch a glance of several men on horseback chasing after a Pehat, one of them even jumping off his steed and... smashing his fist into the monster like a falcon striking its prey.

Huh.

You press onwards towards Kakariko, the Keaton stopping at the outskirts again. Familiar territory again... heh, home is just a short distance away. But you don't really have time to visit again, and head into town. Some familiar faces greet you, including a surprised Madas. "Well, gone a couple days and you already look a year older." the man comments with his usual loud voice, walking towards his shop.

"And what, exactly, is that supposed to mean?" you ask critically.

He gives you a soft jab on the arm. "It means you look like you're picking up experience quickly, girl."

You smile, but hear rumbling in the distance. Looking back, you see... "Bulbins again?"

You take a step towards the oncoming Bulblins. Three of them, all on boars. Guards have their spears ready. Looks like they've seen this happen all too frequently, and they're exhausted from it. The guards manage to catch one of them, striking him off his boar with their spears, but the other two use their comrade's fall as a distraction.

In one swift motion, you bring up your crossbow, and take your first shot. The Bulbin goes down, steering its boar into the other one and causing it to crash. As the second tries to steady himself, he barely has time to notice you reload your crossbow and fire at him. He falls as well. The boars seem confused as they now lack riders, but clearly know better than the Bulblins did. They turn and run AWAY from the young lady with the crossbow, not towards her.

You move to retrieve your bolts, the guards approaching. "Termina, perfect timing! You saved our hides."

"I certainly owed you for the last time." you say with a friendly smile across your face. "Has anything been changed recently?"

One sighs loudly. "Those damn things keep coming, more and more frequently. Never in enough number to do us serious harm, but with just enough to make this exhausting."

"We do get help from time to time, though. Seems there's someone around here who keeps showing up to drive any stragglers off. Heh, one of the kids thought it was you for a time, but didn't look like you." the other adds.

Those... are some interesting comments. One of them does sound more familiar, though... "Who is this boy you speak of, what does he look like?"

"Well, he was a kid, younger and shorter than you, who wore mostly red. Seemed to be really upper-class, but was more willing to get his hands dirty than those spoiled-"

"Ey." the second guard grunts.

"Sorry. But yeah, he's been going up and down Death Mountain for the last couple days. Comes back with his pockets full of Rupees, heads up with them empty and enough determination and spunk to power the clock tower for a year. Fire in his eyes like you'd never believe."

"Think his name was... Haran? Haron?"

"Horon." you recall.

"You know of him?" the guard questions.

You nod. "Heard of him while I was in Castle Town. Met his cousin, actually. This is going to be interesting... but wait, what of the other figure?"

"Now that's the strange one. Robed figure, probably a girl, younger than you. Nobody's been able to get a good look at her besides some kids, but she's shown up and helped us with the attacks."

You cross your arms, thinking this over. "And one of them thought it was me?"

"Yeah. Said she had 'your look.' Something about your eyes."

...your eyes, huh? Going to have to find what this is about sooner or later. Though, perhaps it's another person that can help you save Hyrule.
