Stage 127: Long Overdue, Do Over Long.

You are Ryuu Ryukusa, and you are terribly awake.

The only other person is is awake in your family is Er Yin-sensei, who is the one who told you to go back to sleep after you passed out chasing off some wayward kamuy who were causing trouble. Thoroughly (verbally) spanked, you might add. Er Yin is on her side next to you, her injured arm across your belly, as Kiki-hime sleeps curled against your other side. Kiku-chan is at your feet, radiating warmth, which explains why there are blankets and a pillow arranged at the foot of Er Yin's bed. Everyone save your sister is in the huge round bed, whi8ch has also been cleaned up somewhat.

Your sister is in her room ….which reminds you that you should let her release Hebe Yumiko, her (most likely) ex-assistant into the wild so she can report to Oba-san everything Oba-san already knows. You also have a Kaga sorceress in your own Barrier to talk with at some point. She seemed far more level headed and disapproving of her clan's methods than the others. Hopefully she isn't as dull as she seems at first glance.

You're still awake.

Sleep is hard to come by since you started growing into who you were meant to be. Er Yin is sleepless for other reasons, you suspect. Pain might be among them; you can't tell if she's in pain without looking at her while she's awake, though you can feel the high levels of adrenaline in her blood and how her heart rate is higher than it should be while she is at rest.

[] Get up and do something – anything – about that.
[] Admit you can't sleep and ask her if she would like tea.
[] Let her rest, and slip out by yourself to do something, anything.
[] Ask her if she's asleep yet. That will make sure she's asleep for sure.
[] Try and sleep anyways. You really need it.

I think she doesn't technically need sleep, but it might still provide some benefit? It's a moot point, since it doesn't seem like we are gonna sleep right now anyway.

It's s a small patch of malignant skin cancer, easily 'repaired'. Thank you for the kindness.

SOP is remove the cancerous skin to the lowest layer and then graft some skin from another area there so the generic malfunction isn't repeated. They did the same for my mother, works fine, all under anesthetic.

As awful as it is to have cancer in general, I'm glad to hear it's one of the kinds that can be removed.

Though I imagine that even if the surgery will be under anesthetic it'll still be itching/sore or something for a while afterwards, so my condolences for the additional discomfort being added.

[+] Kisses. Of course kisses. Duh.

You wait for what seems like a reasonable amount of time, which is probably nowhere near such a thing, and run your tail alogn her smooth, powerful calf. “Asleep, Gin-Gin?”

You feel more than see the smile, as your eyes are closed, but you hear the amusement in her voice with perfect clarity. “Of course I am, Ryukusa-sama.”

“Uh huh.” To your credit you try and sleep: you meditate, you blank your mind, you even slow your heartbeat to three or four per minute. None of it works, unfortunately, and you can't really say you're even surprised. You sigh and roll over, giving Er Yin plenty of time to move her wounded arm so that you don't injure her further. Facing her, she rests her weakened hand on your hip, and you look at her face in the dark, trace the outline of the scar across her face with your gaze, stare into those sightless blue-grey eyes that gaze back at you with infinite calm.

“I'm sorry, Er yin-sensei, I just cannot sleep. I need to do something. I want to help heal your arm, or make tea, or something. Anything.” You sigh and cup her cheek and she sightlessly preses her face against your palm. The sense of brittle care she takes in caring for the position of her bad arm is painfully obvious to you, even in the dark. “Would you like to have tea with me, Er Yin? I can make a fine cup of green tea, my sister's skill's notwithstanding. Though I hear Hime-chan is a fair hand at it to.”
>>
>>48518249
“Let us go before you wake the others, Ryukusa-sama,” she murmurs, turning her head to kiss your palm. You prevent her from doing so and turn her face to yours, kissing her softly and slowly, reveling in the strange softness and tingling taste of charged metal along your lips. She rises slowly and cautiously, worried more about injuring herself – or at least causing herself pain – than she is about waking anyone.

You rise easily and silently, and you only pause long enough to talk to the one person who nearly waked up. “Stay asleep, Akari-niji-chan. I'll be back before everyone waken.” She makes a soft, sleepy noise and drifts back into deeper sleep.

“Was she awake?” Asks your seer curiously.

“Not really. She would have been if I'd taken any steps away from her. As it is she'll stay asleep. Mind you that wouldn't work for anyone but me, and I definitely recommend against trying it yourself.” You are nearly as dangerous unconscious as you are awake; Akari is far more dangerous unconscious than she is awake, because she simply reacts without concern for the well being of the person disturbing her.

You and Er Yin slip into the hallway easily, walking with eerie silence through the rooms, though the slide of Er Yin's tail is unmistakable. Her hand remains on the wall as well, though lightly, more to guide her than because she is unfamiliar with the location. Your sister, Shoko-san and she have had more time to become familiar with the place.

[] Grab the medical supplies, and have her sit for you.
[] Make tea first, you can add something to that to relax her.
[] Ask her if she would like anything specific, or requires something stronger than tea.
[] Ask her if she would prefer to take this conversation to her room. Yes, you know there isn't one yet, but you'll fix that.

[+] Brandy, coffee, tea, or me, whatever most pleases thee.

As you both enter the living room, she pauses, waiting for you to get ahead of her. You only glance back; you've seen her do this before, searching with her tail to map out the furnishing. With the door closed you ask in an only slightly subdued tone, “Would you like to sit on the couch? I want to change your bandages, if you don't mind.”

She smiles faintly as she takes a seat on the edge of the love seat, which will still allow you to sit next to her to change her bandages, just much closer than perhaps is wise. Not because you'll do anything too terribly lewd, but because it's more close quarters than you should be for bandaging....oh, who are you kidding, you're a freakin' Water dragonette. You know EXACTLY what she chose the love seat. “And if I say that I do mind, Ryukusa-sama?”

“Then I won't change your bandages.” That seems to startle her a little. “I have medical training, Er Yin-sensei, but I'm no healer, and I know that. You have every right to refuse me, and I'm not going to pull nonexistent rank. If you would be more comfortable in your room, we could continue there, rather than so close to our sleeping loved ones. I should warn you, I'm very likely going to spike your tea with something, so if you'd prefer something stronger than tea, you should probably let me know now.” You do start the kettle to boil....and then curse yourself for three kinds of idiot as you make the water boiling hot with a glance and set the tea to steep.

“Of course you may, Ryukusa-sama. Please forgive this impertinent dragonette.”
>>
>>48519098
You collect the medical kit from the kitchen (undoubtedly placed there by Akari before everyone went to bed, because the one in the bathroom is going to be even more heavily loaded than this one is) and walk over to the chair, easily hopping onto the overstuffed arm and crossing your legs before you. Your tail slides to swirl lightly about hers, and she entwines her tail with yours agreeably enough. The faint tremor is there, caused by her overload of adrenaline, and you can tell she'll exhaust herself in a few hours.

Taking off the bandages is both easy and difficult; physically it is terribly easy, because they are soaked in one of Yui-niji-chan's herbal concoctions that ha partially dried. You use your talons – cautiously, ever so cautiously – to slice away those you can't simply lift off. Once you get down to the injury proper, you frown mildly, unsure of what you are looking at.

The wound hasn't changed in shape or size, for better or worse. What has changed is the consistency of her flesh. The tendons and muscles exposed and damaged by the weird flames your bother spat on her the same shape. But there is a strange luster to them, a silvery kind of shine. This is much more pronounced at the edges of the wound, where the skin is nearly silver in color and tone. The shine is less pronounced along the deeper tissues, but the exposed bones are definitely turning to silver.

[] Okay, so, is this how YOU scar, or is how all of your kind scar?
[] Please tell me that your flesh turning to metal is normal?

[X] Just do what you said you would, there isn't any need for talk.
[XX] Please tell me that your flesh turning to metal is normal?
[+] Is time critical here?
[+] Is this going to affect the power of a healer, specifically the Mill Pond Demon?
[+] More affection!

You gently begin cleaning the strangely glistening flesh of your seer''s – sister is ~a~ seer, but this is ~your~ seer – wound. You do so with the precise touch and calm of someone who is dealing with the most delicate of silk painting, or the most fragile glass. The sterile water goes exactly where you will, and you can feel the living flesh and blood where the injuries are most tender. More worrisome is the dead flesh and bone where the injury is destroyed tissue, but there is less of it than you feared there would be.

It still hurts her, but you are as gentle as possible.

“Your scarred flesh is a little odd, Er Yin,” you comment in the most casual fashion possible, a quiet question hidden in the words. “It beautiful, but strange, really.” And it is a kind of beauty, a glistening, glassy, lustrous effect. “I sincerely hope that time is not an issue.”

“Hmm? Ah. No, Ryukusa-sama, that is natural to my kind. As long as the process is incomplete it won't cause any real issues. The full transformation will take months.” You've never heard of that happening with Void dragonette's so she must mean Metal dragonettes. “It is not painful or harmful, only strange. With Stone dragonettes it is jade, and with Wood dragonettes it is most often mahogany.”
>>
>>48521272
You slowly apply the medicinal that was left in the kit. At least, it says 'Er Yin's medicine' on it in a childish, rather sweeping script, so you assume that it is Yui-niji-chan's writing. “That sounds like it is something unique to China, I'm afraid. I've never heard of it happening here.” You apply the medication with the same perfect skill, and you do notice that she immediately relaxes as you apply it to the most sensitive of the living injuries. Anesthetic of some sort.

Sliding your tail more closely about hers, you consider carefully. It would be easy, very easy to heal her using the power of Wood....but there is another way. You study the injury with your full Void Eyes, seeing how her meridians and flesh have been injured beyond mere flesh and blood and bone. You can also see the salve's more mystic properties, how it lends itself to supplying chi to those places injured. Yui's pure, innocent power infused into the material. You trace the flows of Chi and Shen through her body, where it should go, where it is meant to go.

Er Yin stiffens and her tail tightens about yours, especially as you trace one of the more damaged flows of her life force. “Ryukusa....?” she murmurs softly.

The destruction caused here is bad, but you can see....you can FEEL how it is destroyed, how it is meant to be, and how to remove the injury from her. It is so simple, yet terribly complex. Fire destroys the Void, and isn't what is here Void in the truest sense?

[] Hush, I'm thinking.
[] ….relax Er Yin. I promise it will only hurt a moment.
[] Tell me if I'm over thinking this but....Fire also Overacts the void, does it not?

Like I don't know, it's neat that we'd be using Fire in a new way, and I'm still not really familiar with what the elements mean in terms of who we are and the doom we will bring but I kind of feel like Ryukasa is more tied to Fire than Wood...

But I'm still a bit wary that what feels most natural might not be the best way of doing things.

>>48521388
Er Yin is an -extremely- unique case, because her wound is actually becoming Void/Metal which is trumped by Fire. Ginka doesn't have that advantage so we'd just... you know, burn her.
>>
>>48521380

Don't feel like that, anon.

>>48521388

True, I'm not sure how applicable that is to healing though.

It's a question of level. We'd get some healing abilities, but neither Yui nor Kiki could do anything for the problems of Ginka or Er Yin.

I don't think it would. We're the one destroying; taking on Wood would only add Wood's aspect to the destruction, which would be plague, presumably.

As opposed to Fire, which would... uh, Fuji's a volcano, isn't it?
>>
>>48521841

We must practice for when she is pregnant. And Kiku is.

Also, you should have learned by now that Ryukusa can do both serious and cute lewd.

Wood would have provided optimal paths of destruction that minimized recovery times and let us better direct the reconstruction afterwards.
>>

I vaguely remember XS saying that choosing our element would also be choosing the nature of destruction we're to bring about.

Like Water I think was always Horobi
Wood was Aokigahara
Fire was Mt. Fuji yeah

[X] Here, bite down on this, and trust me.
[XX] ….relax Er Yin. I promise it will only hurt a moment.
[XX] Just using a bit of logic taught by videogames the world over.
[+] It might hurt A LOT.
[+] Fire Eyes
[+] Call on Kiku-chan?

You see the the flow, ebb and tide of Shen and Chi through her body, injured by a flame that was more madness than destruction. As much Void as Fire. And that's what makes this different than most other burn wounds; this was created as much by magic as by fire. And Fire ordinarily destroys magic.

Your voice feels like it's coming from a million miles away as you drift in this place between thought and deed, a place you never really explored thoroughly. For you it has always been act or do not act. This is....this is what it must feel like to be a sorceress or a miko, maybe, to be in tune with something greater than yourself. Your not possessed, no, this isn't what that feels like at all. You've been possessed, you remember. “Please remind me if I'm wrong, but Fire overacts Void, does it not? No....that sounds wrong....”

Er Yin is very still, as you trace the lines of her Shen and Chi through her body in places that no longer exist for her. “No, Ryukusa-sama, Fire overacts Earth, which Creates Void. Fire destroys Void.”

“It does doesn't it....” you murmur thoughtfully, leaning into her slightly. “Here....” you gently slip two of your fingers into her mouth – finger from your left hand, your index and pointer finger. “Bite down on this.” You slide into the seat behind her, and wrap your legs about her waist, as you reach around with your right arm to hug her closely. She is blushing deeply, and you look at her calmly, your Void Eyes naturally giving way to Fire eyes, showing you the true nature of the injuries your cousin inflicted upon her.
>>
>>48522089
You channel your Shen through your right hand, the hand wreathed in fire and flame in your true form, the power of the volcanic forces of the ocean, the power which raised Japan from the ocean floor. But not JUST that power. You channel the Fires that erupt from your sapphire claws with the Waters you command, guiding the power through the places where her flesh no longer exists but her meridians and her chi flows still do. You burn away the magics that stain her spiritual essence, that infect her Pearl and her body. She bites, and she bites hard, shaking in your embrace as you hold her steady.

Pauchi Kamuy is a creature of madness and curses, and your cousin is a thing of fire and rage. You are a creature of order and thoughtfulness, and creature confined by your role and abilities. But your abilities are not confined by that role. Inau-kun keeps telling you that you can change the world. Well, this is a part of it you can change for the better. Fire overacts Stone, and Stone creates Metal. Well, your claws are sapphire – you don't get much more Stone than that. And Metal and Void are one so....

“It is all right,” you whisper softly to the sobbing near thrashing dragonette in your arms, as you rebuild the parts of her body destroyed by Pauchi Kamuy's cursed flames using your own Fire to destroy the magical forces that have kept your lover from healing. “I'm here.” Her talons dig into your immortal flesh, tearing and bleeding you, but that's not important. The destruction of her cursed wound is far more important, and destroy it you do, weaving Stone into Void, and burning away Void with the power of your heart. Because that's the source of Fire – the heart and pericardium. “Heart and Mind are the same, in your language,” you whisper to her....and then you let go of her.
>>
>>48522163
Awww, that seemed really damn painful. We're gonna have to do a lot of pampering to make up for it.
>>
>>48522163
Er Yin falls off the chair, onto her hands and knees, her unseeing eyes wide and her chest heaving. You feel....you feel surprisingly normal, as if you hadn't just tortured the master of your priestess and your would-be – will-be – lover. You look at your right hand, studying the blackened talons, chipped and scorched until they fade into sapphire, and you flex your terribly injured left fingers, though they're already healing. The ruby chip in your right palm, your blood tie to Yui-niji-chan is glowing. Er Yin sits up and you look over at her with a smile touching your lips. You are at peace, and she is in shock. Not the medical kind, though.

She pulls away the bandages and opens her robe, looking at her shoulder and chest – rather nice chest really, you think dazedly. Er Yin traces the blue-white tracery of her meridians and Chi and Shen flows that are emblazoned upon her clean white skin. White as in alabaster, her flesh untouched by sun or elements, pale beyond the norm. you can see the veins and arteries under her new skin, and you lean back in the chair, curling up.

“...h...how....” Your seer doesn't look towards you, it would be a futile effort you imagine. She only has eyes for her restored Shen and Chi at the moment, and you really don't blame her, having lost an arm yourself.

[X] Ryukusa, of course.

You slide languidly and gracefully off the love seat and onto the floor and slowly crawl around Er Yin until you are kneeling in front of her. You lace your healing hands with hers – though your right hand aches, aches deep into the bone – and gently pull her closer to you by spreading her arms. You rise up a little to meet her chest with yours, and you look into the unseeing eyes that stare through you. “Because me,” you murmur softly, delivering a delicate lick to her throat before kissing her on the nose, making her blush. She 'focuses' on you, and you gaze up at her with a smile.

“Totally elementary, my beloved Er Yin-sensei. Fire overacts Stone, creating Void, which overacts Water, Water creates Wood....Truth becomes reality, thought becomes action, action creates the body. Well, blood forms the body, really, after it is infused with Chi that stems from breath being forced through matter. Or something like that.” She laughs, a choked sob, and you mentally urge Kiku-chan to wake up. Er Yin could use her presence now. “It's not like I actually have to play by the rules set before me. I didn't really understand that before. Now I understand it very well.” You release her hands and she reflexively slides them around your waist as you slide your hands over her bare breasts, covering them gently.

“Besides,” you continue softly, feeling the sleeping presence of your priestess leave your awareness as she wakes up. “It doesn't really matter how I managed it, does it? My cousin wounded you with something more Void than Fire, so it only made sense that Fire had to be a part of what healed it.” You lean forward, kissing the place where her Pearl resides, hidden beneath her breasts and her sternum. “We're both whole now. That's all that really matters. I may have to destroy Japan for my family and duty, but right now I would much rather destroy the things troubling my family. I think this counts, don't you?”
>>
>>48522851
She nods slowly, looking down at you, and then slowly leans the tiny bit forward necessary (it's so NICE to be the little spoon sometimes!) to kiss your brow. You catch the glint of your glowing horns along hers, something which they didn't used to do. “Hai, Ryukusa-sama. This counts. I welcome you in the fullness of yourself, my Mistress.”

You smile as you look up at her, your heart bubbling over with love and laughter. “Well, I think I've still earned a spanking at least.” Her soft laugh is slightly giddy as well; you're drunk on power, she on her well being.

Kiku-chan prances silently into the room, yawning hugely and rubbing her eyes with one oversize sleeve of her sleeping kimono. You turn your head, utterly relaxed, and she blinks golden eyes at you and her Master....and her hair immediately explodes into apparent flames. “Baka dragon, my Master-”

“-isn't in condition for you to be a hentai dragon! She needs rest and to be healed!” It doesn't help that she is on the right side of you both, meaning she can't see what you have done very well at all. You flick your tail, which incidentally makes your black and silver kimono slide off of one shoulder. The movement catches her eye and she stares at your bared breast, then at her lover's breasts as you gently squeeze them.

“....doesn't she have the cutest breasts? No, not Kiku-chan, you, Er Yin,” you clarify, making her blush deepen. She's terribly easy to embarrass when she's drunk on Chi and Shen. “They're bigger than hime-chan's I think, but that may just be because you''re so much stronger than she is,” you murmur mildly, as Kiku-chan's ire increases. You look over at her glowing eyes and lay your head along Er Yin's breasts, and she slides her hands lower, pulling you up into her slightly as she cups your derrière.

“I think she really needs lots and lots of kisses,” you murmur to Kiku-chan, who is looking at you like you're either drunk or insane, and maybe you ~are~ a little of both at the moment. “I think you and I need to kiss her and make it all better.” Er Yin's soft, liquid chuckle is a little thrilling to hear against your ear, and you lash your tail, baring your shoulder completely and motioning Kiku-chan closer.

She doesn't approach, but you feel her Fire eyes open, and what she sees is more than a shock, apparently: she rocks back as if struck, and both hands go to her chest, covering her Pearl. You lash your tail languidly, perfectly content to be held by Er Yin at the moment. “In my opinion, which, at the moment, is the important one, really,” you claim, only to get a playful nip from Er Yin, as she bites your ear lightly. “Owowowow....itaiiii.....” you whine without much force behind it. Kiku-chan is staring at the both of you still. “....anyways....in my opinion, I have been neglecting Er Yin quite a lot. Not just in matters of love, but in matters of taking care of her. So, I wish to fix that.”

You lean back, though still covering Er Yin's breasts, which kind of leaves you unable to cover your own, but you're not really concerned about that right now. “I think I made a good start, don't you?” You slide your hand from her breast to her healed shoulder, more pale than she is naturally, traced by the lines of magic and power you helped restore. Kiku-chan's eyes widen even more, and she takes a slow, hesitant step closer. With a smile, you slide out of Er Yin's lap as Er Yin turns to face her diminutive lover.

Then Er Yin's arms are filled with a bundle of fire dragonette, who is crying softly, eyes wafting steam. You move closer, and embrace them both, holding them close to you as they celebrate Er Yin's healing. You kiss them both, many times, and they kiss many times as well. Once the tears are finished you and your priestess and your seer hold each other close, reveling in the restoration of your family to wholeness.

It's a start.

Healing Ginka is not possible through any normal techniques - the injury is very old and was mundane to boot, and her body has 'adjusted' to it's current state. Not to say it can't be done, but it can only be done through truly supernatural means, and there is invariably a high cost to that.

is correct. However, that will not make the destruction any less pervasive or any less effective. In some ways it would make it worse.

>>48521968
Stone was earthquakes, and Void has been determined to be the chaos and insanity that revealing the spiritual world permanently to humans would cause.

>>48522302
This was using Fire by choice, as a tool for destroying harmful magics and curses, as well as exponentially increasing the Elemental Cycle though use of the Heart/Mind/Pearl. It is Ryukusa's element, a destructive force used as a beneficial tool. Ryukusa is slightly power drunk as a result though, and is now a fully fledged demigod (which is what rocked Kiku-chan's world).

Mind you, Ryukusa is and always will be a thing of Water first and foremost.

>>48522366
Remembering what caused the injury, and a closer study with Void Eyes. You haven't had a chance to use the new understanding of Void Eyes that you learned from possessing Yui-niji-chan with Er yin's injury before this point.

>>48522498
Only those from your cousin, but those are all the ones she has now. She's been recuperating for a while.

>>48522585
>>48522559
>>48522526
Though possessing Yui you learned how to properly assess void Eyes, and once that was accomplished, you realized the wound was never truly just physical - it was actually a magical curse. >>48523804
It's not like we're doing anything difficult in the future, like fighting literal foreign devils.
>>
>>48523749
So is the destruction we're destined to bring about all three things at once?

Because it seems kind of unwise to reveal that the supernatural exists at the same time as unleashing unspeakable destruction.

Did somebody say GENRE SHIFT!

>>48523749
To clarify: when you say "the spirit world" revealed "to humans", are we talking about the Japanese spirit world revealed to the Japanese, the Japanese spirit world to everybody, or EVERYTHING to EVERYBODY.
>>
>>48523780
That is very kind and one more reason I wish more QMs were like you.

...I'm still gonna try to take notes.
>>
>>48523855
No, that would have been the end result if Ryukusa had been attuned to Void instead of Water.

>>48523869
>Japanese spirit world revealed to the Japanese
This. Other spirit-children would still be aware, but all Japanese would be. The Shinto religion would have boomed shortly after the reformation that would have to happen (the Emperor would also have to be much more well protected - he would LITERALLY be the spiritual heart of Japan).
>>
>>48523967
Hm, well I feel like Void would have definitely been the most fun in terms of end result but I imagine it'd be a dark path getting there.

Ah well, I love Ryukusa the way she is now.
>>
>>48523967
Alright so spell this out for me because I keep getting confused, what is our current elemental balance and what does it mean?
>>
>>48523967
Damn, you had me HYPE as fuck for a minute there.
Instead we just get some lameo fukin floods and shit.
>>
>>48524060
I mean, it sounds fun but would probably provoke unspeakable suffering and chaos.
>>
Well find a way to make good with our Water destruction.

>>48524060

Ryukusa will protect this smile
>>
>>48523967
speaking of void, is Amatsu-Mikaboshi a thing in this quest?

On a related note, is Amatsu-Mikaboshi a thing in Shintoism in reality? I'm still vaguely suspicious of him.
>>
>>48524096
Well yeah, but so will HYPER TSUNAMIS.
Except when the water's gone and things calm down, you don't get a world where kitsune waifus visibly exist.
>>
>>48523868
well I know what I'm gonna watch next. Thank you for showing that statistically I should have already been into!
>>
>>48524043
Ryukusa is first and foremost a creature of Water: Deadly, Clever, able to move with whatever her environment provides her, unerring in her ability to direct herself. This lends itself to overthinking, reading too much into situations, and most problematic, finding it difficult to cope with suddenly changed situations that she thought she had already planned for.

Howeever, as a demigod, Ryukusa is also strong the Fire and Void. Not nearly to the same extent a Void or Fire dragonette would be, but she is capable of using aspects of those elements in limited fashions: telepathy, foresight (her psychic choices are much more obvious once you know what you are lookign for), wind and lightning in the case of Void. fire lengs her the ability to unravel and destroy curses and magical effects, as well as to burn away decption, illusion, and potentially one or two other abilities.

>>48524154
Mikaboshi does exist, but he is currently quiescent. If Ryukusa had been Void, it is entirely likely that she would have been Mikuboshi's incarnation. Mikuboshi is the kami of the pole-star and primordial chaos, though he has been influenced by the Buddhists to bevcome associated with the morning star (Venus) and eventually became part of the kami that represents all the stars.
>>
>>48524265
So certain anon? Part of the idea behind this act of destruction was to bring the Japanese people closer to their spiritual roots....
>>
>>48524387
Hype cautiously restored.
>>
>>48524359
And she also just dabbled a bit in Wood right? Like just enough that she's pretty good at healing and has Wood Eyes still?

...Poor Stone, so lonely, though at least we gave it a try here.
>>
>>48524359
>This lends itself to overthinking, reading too much into situations, and most problematic, finding it difficult to cope with suddenly changed situations that she thought she had already planned for.
...Wow, Water really was the perfect element for /tg/ wasn't it?
>>
>>48524532
>Poor Stone
Well it is kind of our antithesis and all that, despite the dabbling.
>>
>>48524532
Also I forget, what would Stone Eyes have done?
>>
>>48524642
Give us reverse x-ray vision?
Stone Eyes seem to be the most grounded hue of the eye powers, they mostly just show us what's on the other side of a boulder.
>>
>>48524359
Do we still have to expand our elements?
>>
>>48524532
She can actually use all types of Eyes as a result of beign a demiogod (which is also why she feels Eyes upon her).
Actual spoiler. Inau-kun can feel and use all the Elemental Eyes as well, which she does not advertise.

Ryukusa is clever enough to use the things she does know to help her heal yes. And she will always have her regenerative capacity (a Wood Effect) and Indestructible Left Arm (a Stone effect).
>>
>>48524703
I think we're a full demigod now and Stone isn't taking our calls anymore since we spurned it.
>>
>>48524714
Stone was never really on the table for adopting as a demigod. It's inimical to our base nature.
>>
>>48524710
That IS an actual spoiler. She might be the most dangerous person in our house.
>>
>>48524703
No, you are done, though you can refine Fire a bit.

>>48524678
Seeing through stone and the earth, but also understanding the basic nature of a thing (not it's truth or it's spiritual essences or how it can be manipulated or it's mental state, but simply what it is at it's most basic and fundamental self.)
>>
>>48524760
how's nature different than truth?
>>
>>48524760
I see. What do you personally think of our elemental choices?
>>
>>48524387
Inb4 born again christians
>>
>>48524785
You are, at your very basic nature, a human being. You can no more escape or change that basic nature than you can alter the path of the solar system through the galaxy.

Your true self, however, is the spirit, mentality, emotions, and everything that makes up YOU. That CAN change, be changed, and transform. But you will always be human.

This is a gross oversimplification, but it gets the gist across.
>>
>>48524840
They're the choices I have to work with and they are appropriate and true to Ryukusa's nature.

Which would be true regardless of which ones you picked, because you picked them for her.
>>
>>48525041
What an elegant way to avoid the question. Heh. It's not so much wanting to have your judgement on our decision, but I'm wondering what Water/Fire/Void looks like holistically.
>>
>>48525041
How can Fire be used to help us chart the course of destruction an reconstruction?
With Wood we could have charted a course that gets us the best outcome, even if it means certain areas are more devastated or the casualties higher.

Fire is very good for us personally, but I'm disappointed that we won't have pseudo-prescience to give us an idea of what our choices will lead to, to better do our job.
>>
>>48525187
We'll just need to work it out, even if it the responsibility does fall on us, we'll have our family to help.
>>
>>48525187
I dunno, but it should at least be a cleaner burn. Purification is kinda the point after all.
>>
>>48525025
So wait, Ryukusa's basic nature is as a Water Dragonette and not a Demigod, right?
>>
>>48525186
Very cerebral, focused on the idealism and awareness of things rather than the physicality or potentials of things. "When you understand something fully, inside and out, you can then reduce it to it's component parts with ease, or prevent others from doing the same." Ryukuza is, by the nature of her elements, a creature of thought, action, and incredible destructive potency. By the time she understands the situation and her opponents, there will be very little they can to to survive, because she will udnerstand the truth of their existence, see their thought processes, and drown them in understanding (or swords, claws, knives, lightning, whatever is necessary to win).
>>
>>48525187
You do have pseudoprescience - that's an aspect of both Water and Void. What Wood provides is the ability to manipulate others and their goals, rather than your own efforts. Mind you, you do have Wood eyes, so you can manage this on a more individual basis.

Yes, kiki-hime is extraordinarily manipulative. Ryukusa is very aware of this fact.

Fire provides Ryukusa with the most basic element of destruction - but more importantly, she can use that particular element of destruction to affect those who might have 'charmed lives', magical defenses, and other spiritual backup and protection that would not suffer as much as they should (Oba-san, the Kaga, and the spirit-children who might take advantage of a weakened humanity). Fire is THE element of destruction, after all, and is fair in how it will heat everyone's homes and burn them to the ground.
>>
>>48525250
That is correct. She is a demigod by birthright, but her basic nature has and will always be a Water dragonette. This means she won't change much personality wise, despite her new abilities. They may, in fact, exacerbate her Water Dragonette nature.
>>
>>48525344
So basically, by not focusing on wood we lack some ability to wreck japan in such a way to result in ideal regrowth. And our lack of stone...?
>>
>>48525369
I did kind of fear that Fire will reinforce Ryukusa as she is, which... I guess there are worse things to be.

Stone is the foundation upon which all is built, anon. Fire inspires, Water nurtures, and Void give hope and understanding, but Wood is growth and Stone the foundation for it.

There really is no 'perfect combination' nor is there a 'doomed set'. The checks and balances are inbuilt into all the Elements.
>>
>>48525513
See you next time XS!
That magazine looks indecent...
>>
>>48525488
The way I'm seeing it we picked the best elemental set for the long-term duties of Horobi, but choosing Wood and/or Stone would have been more beneficial in the context of coping with our "birth pangs", as it were.
Under normal operating conditions, it's not Horobi's job to handle the aftermath and rebuilding, just to enact destruction is the most direct, effective, and appropriately comprehensive way. Fire and Void gives us the best tool set to identify, isolate, and excise that which needs to be destroyed.

Personally, I'm fine with being specialized more towards outright destruction, even if it means we can't fix it up as nicely afterwards. We have a specific place and duty in the divine hierarchy, and we should look to making ourselves as effective in that context as we can first and foremost.
>>
>>48525551
I guess because it'd more passive, I don't see what a stone ascendant destructive reckoning looks like. Just a big earthquake? I'm not seeing the metaphysical angle.

Never heard of the Great Kanto Quake or the Great Frisco Quake? Those were disasters that made history....and neither had a controlling intelligence behind them. Both shook the very foundation of the cities they were in, and there is a very real fear of them to this day across much of the nation - in fact, many people prefer to live in hurricane and tornado country than risk moving to places earthquakes happen.

Conceptually, >>48527922
is accurate as well. The sense of ones' place in the world is incredibly vital to the Japanese, and without it they become quite lost. A towering ego collapses quite quickly when you kick the person's feet out from under them and don't allow them to regain their firm standing.

So I fell off this wagon, like, maybe a year ago, I'm not sure. I think Ryukuza kicked Susanoo's descendant in the she-dick, then armlessly fucked a girl; what part should I pick back up at?

Start from where you left off? Honestly though you might as well just start from the beginning easier to keep all this shit straight. And it's a good read.

No, I misspoke, I meant that I don't REMEMBER the number of the part where I left off. I remember pretty much all of the key details from before then, though.

Here is where she madelove to Kiki-hime the first time (missing an arm).

So presumably, the next thread after this one. You're welcome.
