>You are Princess Zelda, heir to the fallen throne of Hyrule

>Your father, corrupted by Power, died in a coup, your Kingdom shattered in a civil war 10 years ago, the Hero in Green giving his life to ensure you escaped the conflict

>An uneasy peace has returned to the land, but omens of a descent into greater chaos than before loom on the horizon

>You, Zelda Hyrule, have the potential to claim your birthright and restore the Kingdom to what it once was, bring back true peace to the lands. Your path ahead is not set in stone; you must chisel it in yourself. What kind of Legend will you create?

"So... h-how do you know my cousin?" the boy asks as he walks with you up the trail of Death Mountain.

"I met her in Castle Town, at the Temple of Hylia." you respond bluntly, trying to move along faster.

He tries to keep up, nearly stumbling. "Ah! Well, came to pay your respects to Her Grace then?"

"I helped them deal with a phantom." you almost grumble out.

"O-oh." Horon mumbles. "WELL! You seem to know your way around, but what exactly are you doing out here? Aha, here to help me on my quest I take it!"

You hear the fairy groan a little behind you. Accompanying this it the Keaton chuckling in your mind. Ugh...

You groan. Loudly. He's... certainly full of himself. "I am seeking the Gorons. What are YOU doing here, boy?"

"Ah, the Gorons! Well, you see, I, Lord Horon, am on a quest to save Hyrule!" He seems to strike a pose for a moment. A moment you use to gain a few steps ahead. He hurries after. "I set out on an adventure to rescue our beloved Princess Zelda from hiding and restore her to the throne, and was informed by the Great Fairy that a potential threat was coming across the lands. Naturally, I set off to rid this threat. Ah, and with the lovely Princess restored, Hyrule will enter an age of prosperity once more!"

You... see that the boy may have his heart in the right place, but his priorities are... skewed. And every time he mentions... "the Princess" you can't help but wince slightly. Especially if it sounds like he's doing this for one of the reasons you think he is...

>A. And how exactly would you restore the Princess, boy?
>B. Roll your eyes. "I am sure the Princess would prefer a different sort of 'rescuer.'"
>C. Where exactly did you get your title from, "Lord" Horon?

"...and how would you plan on restoring Princess Zelda to her throne, boy?" you ask suspiciously.

He rubs the back of his neck, smiling. "Aheh, w-well, you know. Bring her back to Castle Town, take her to the throne in the Castle, and let the Nobles acknowledge her rightful place as ruler. And... w-well..." his cheeks turn a little red as he clearly starts thinking about how he'd be rewarded for his efforts.

You feel just a little disgusted, then roll your eyes as you groan. "I am sure the Princess would prefer a different sort of 'rescuer.'" you grumble out, mumbling next, "At least one that can aim better.."

"Now what makes you say that?" Horon asks with suspicion matching your own. His fairy seems to make an aggravated jingling sound, her floating away from him and closer to you.

"Woman's intuition." you tell him flatly. "And where did you get your title anyway, 'Lord' Horon?"

He seems to march along faster. "Well, I'm not quite a true Lord yet, but I can and will be able to live up to my father's legacy! And especially the legacy my cousin had, bless his spirit. I'm heir apparent to the Lordship of Castle Town."

...you really are starting to hope that this adventure helps him clean up his act. "Is that so?"

"That it is!" he states proudly. "But truly, how do YOU know that the Princess wouldn't be reluctant to be rescued? Living among the people is nice and all, but nothing can beat a life of luxury in the Castle at its prime!" Horon gives with a boisterous laugh. "...unless..."

The fairy looks at him with confusion, then at you in a panic. "Oh Goddesses no."

Horon points at you, eyes focused and cheeks a bright enough red they seem to stand out even among his outfit. "Are you... ALSO seeking the Princess, miss... uh..."

There's the sound of rumbling ahead. Might be the other Hinox.

"My name is Termina." you breathe out, trying to not even dignify that accusation.

"I am so, so sorry." the fairly tells you, lowering her head. "I know he's... not the brightest bulb, but-"

The rumbling grows louder. That... that isn't the Hinox.

"BOULDER!" you shout, looking for a crevice and quickly dashing to it.

To your surprise, not only does Horon do the same, but he also manages to actually react to it. "Felicia, let's find that bastard and get him down too!" The boy seems to Connect with the fairy, using her to scout ahead.

Well, if he's made it this far on his own... "Horon, give me a signal when you find it."

"Uh... sure!" he shouts, slightly confused. The two of you stay in your hiding spots while the fairy seeks out the monster, another boulder passing by. "Aha, there you are you bastard! Felicia, show us where!"

You move out as the fairy moves up in the air, guiding you two. The monster is up on a hilly section of the trail, off from the main path. Seems to have a steady supply of boulders in its possession. All right, let's see...

You bring up your shield right as the monster prepares to toss another boulder. "Hey, over here you one-eyed brute!" you shout, moving away to distract it. It notices you and tosses the boulder, the thing colliding with your shield and pushing you down on your back, but thankfully not doing any lasting damage. In a smooth motion you bring yourself back up, the boulder grazing Horon right as he manages the Fairy Missile against the Hinox.

The monster falls from its hill, staggered a little. Now's your chance!

As Horon readies himself and blasts the monster again with a Fairy Missile, knocking it off-balance with a blow to the eye, you move like the wind at the creature, sword drawing into a smooth slash right across the Hinox's gut as it's staggered. Using the momentum you have going, you kick it in the knee to bring it down closer to your level and deliver a finishing blow as you stab upwards, sword piercing through the monster's jaw and exiting the top of its head.

You pull your sword out and give a slash into the air as the Hinox falls behind you, slowly vanishing into a puff of blackened mist.

Horon is... impressed, to say the least. "Ah... w-wow. WELL! Miss Termina, you really do seem to know what you're doing around here." He puts his hands on his hips. "I misjudged you, and for that I apologize. With the Hinoxes dead, this trail is clear for the Gorons once more, and I'm all set to head to the Temple of Din." He places his hand forward. "So, if that's where you're headed, let's work together to meet the Great Fairy!" He smiles wide, but notices his fairy giving a rather grumpy look at him. "... And, uh, if you have certain... preferences, I won't be one to judge." he mumbles out, face reddening again.

The fairy seems to move to one of the larger rocks and hits her head on it softly.

You place your own hand forward and shake. "Your skills are commendable, if... a bit unrefined. It is a deal, Horon." You do, however, squint down at him. "But do realize I am not in this to seek the Princess' hand."

"...oh. OH. Ahah, eheh, right!" He stutters out a string of similar comments for a few seconds, quickly moving to the fairy. "Felicia why didn't you say something?"

The fairy continues hitting her head, and you can hear her grumbling out "Why. Why. Why." each time she does.

"WELL, Miss Termina, let us be off!" Horon tells you with a cheerful smile, marching along the path.

The fairy slowly follows after, turning to you and stating, "I am so sorry." as she floats by.

"At least he shows willingness to learn." you respond calmly. Even if he's... a bit rough around the edges, his heart's in the right place. You guess even this boy can help you on your quest to save Hyrule.

Horon does still suspect that you prefer girls. Just that you're not doing this to win the hand of the Princess.

>>48580058
They are individuals, but can share collective memories in a way. Those that are a part of the Great Fairies do have a sort of hivemind existence as the individual Great Fairy, but when separated don't have access to it. Not all fairies are part of Great Fairies, though.
