Ramesh tries to keep everything neat and clean to make the dinner go as smoothly as possible, while Kumar thinks it's best to go all out and impress him with his latest inventions.

A moment is an ancient measure of time meaning 90 seconds.
Therefor, the city runs on 960 mana a day.

Aka 480 bears.
Every day.
>>
Who the fuck are Kumar and Ramesh?

>>49323607

Kumar is the idiot and Ramesh is the straight man.
>>
>>49323647
I'd say the only machine made by Kumar that works is his coffee maker (mainly because Ramesh gave it the once over to remove anything that might fall off and/or explode). Everything else he's made just falls to pieces, explodes, or falls apart and then all the parts blow up.

What exactly /are/ Pithing Needles? The return to ravnica ones seem to imply that they're medical in nature.

i Think it's something to do with paralyzing a person temporarily before a surgery, an old method or some shit.
>>
>>49324748
>pith
>verb
>gerund or present participle: pithing
>1. remove the pith from.
>2. pierce or sever the spinal cord of (an animal) so as to kill or immobilize it.

So, basically, Pithing needles are used to (temporarily?) paralyze people so you can perform surgery or something.
I'd imagine that you only stay paralyzed for as long as the needle is stuck in your neck, since that would fit with the mechanics of the card: you're no longer paralyzed when the needle is removed (off the battlefield), and you can only paralyze one person at a time (since each needle can only name one permanent at a time).

No seriously, there has to be some lore to explain why men are so absent from the creative process, it's an interesting spin on femininity and could go towards making Kaladesh a more unique setting if they intentionally worked around with gender roles.

Maybe men have a different role in their society? What kind of role might that be? This should be asked to a developer, because there's a very, very obvious trend that they aren't talking about.

There isn't any, so far as WotC have said.
It's just progressive pandering. If you ask a developer like MaRo he will just reply "Uh yeah sure totally, that's what we wanted all along yeah sure".
Don't bother asking and giving them an excuse for their new hard on for hating males.

Reminder that all demons are males because "It's easier to show men getting beaten up and killed" or something along those lines, forget the exact quote.

X: You may choose a creature card in your hand whose mana cost could be paid by some amount of, or all of, the mana you spent on X. If you do, you may cast that card face down as a 2/2 creature spell without paying its mana cost. If the creature that spell becomes as it resolves has not been turned face up and would assign or deal damage, be dealt damage, or become tapped, instead it's turned face up and assigns or deals damage, is dealt damage, or becomes tapped. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery.
>>
>>49326849
X: Put a creature card with converted mana cost X from your hand onto the battlefield face down with X mask counters on it. It is a 0/1 colourless creature. Activate this ability only as a sorcery.

Remove all Mask counters from a face down creature you control: Turn that creature face up.

Basically it lets you hide your creatures as invisible 0/1's so your opponent doesn't know what you could block with.

Funny thing is with mana a unit of power and a moment a unit of time, that accurately comes out to an energy need.

If Ghirapur is a city of one million then one mana roughly equals 40 Gigawatts

Gonna list various Inventors and there products

>Eshan Bant: Inventor of Combustible gearhulk
s advancements laid the groundwork for one of this year's most fantastic creations: The Combustible Gearhulk. Working with a team of elite mechanists, Eshan was able to modify the properties of his personal lightning vane apparatus, significantly amplifying the discharge to provide the tremendous amount of power necessary to charge the Gearhulk's sparking combustible fist. The Consulate Committee on Regulation and Enforcement advises visitors to exercise caution when observing this or any of the other Gearhulks in the demonstration area.
>>
>>49343289
>Pihu Laal: Sky Skiff Designer

is year she's taken her dedication to skyships to the next level and submitted an original Sky Skiff design to the fair. She'll be competing in the Featherweight Filigree Division of the Aeronautical Trials. Though you might not know it, you're probably already familiar with the work of this exemplar-in-the-making; Pihu has helped outfit most of the racing ships of the popular Derby Crows society. If her mechanical expertise has taught us anything, it's that any skyship Pihu touches is likely to win gold.
>>
>>49343311
>Tiyu Arran: Perpertual Timepiece
Tiya Arrun of the Aetherlogical Society has submitted her invention, the Perpetual Timepiece, to the judges this year. Unmistakably the creation of a Weldfast free spirit, this elaborate timepiece and its inner workings are somewhat elusive. The time it keeps isn't Ghirapur standard time, but the flowing movements of the gears, rings, and sand challenge us to reflect on the cyclical nature of the creative process. Tiya is quick to counsel-"Do not be so caught up in keeping track of time that you forget to make use of it." What fantastic advice for any visitor to the Inventors' Fair!
>>
>>49343323
>Ranbir: The Torch Gauntlet
nbir's Torch Gauntlet design caught the attention of Consul of Allocation, Kambal, who graciously insisted on shepherding it through the Consulate's mass production process. Ranbir's prototype was modified to meet strict safety and quality regulations, and within months, the Consulate was able to deliver the new and improved Torch Gauntlet (which you can find in the toolcraft division of the fair) to classrooms all across Kaladesh. When you hear students igniting their gauntlets in innovation classrooms around the world, think of the ambitious work of Ranbir!
>>
>>49343335
>Ira Joshi: Fleetwheel Cruiser Pilot

Born into a metalworking family in the industrial zone of Embraal, Ira harbored the dream of one day joining the esteemed ranks of the Consulate's Pilots' Union. Though her unorthodox racing methods have often cost her dearly on the track, the Union couldn't ignore her stunning first place performance in the Ovalchase trials last year. This year, Ira was not only inducted into the Union, she was also selected as the official pilot for the Consulate's own Fleetwheel Cruiser. She'll be competing in the Fair's most anticipated ground racing series-surely a performance you won't want to miss!
>>
>>49343366
>HIMMAT NEELA: He designed that tree deer in Larger Than Life
Only a few short years ago, Himmat moved to Ghirapur from the aether-touched forests of Peema with the dream of collaborating with the brilliant inventors of the Lifecrafters Society. He was welcomed with open arms, and since then has been working tirelessly to create many of the marvelous constructs that populate the Greenwheel garden domes. Himmat's pieces elicit a feeling of wonder and awe in all who stop to watch them roam. His Fair submission is based on a miniature design he created as a boy in his treetop home of Peema. With its integrated foliage and elegant lines, Himmat's submission is a living testament to aether's influence on the natural world-and the inventive process.

>Kareem the Dwarf: Fleetwheel Cruiser Inventor
Those who think this Fleetwheel Cruiser looks stunning on the showroom floor should be sure not to miss it in action at Ovalchase Racetrack. A true feat of elegant design, the cruiser has already set multiple Consulate records for speed and performance. Our toolcraft experts, led by the dwarven mechanist, Kareem, have ensured that the cruiser passed the extensive safety tests with flying colors. This means that when out on the track, our talented Consulate pilots can put all of their focus into winning the derby. We expect a brilliant performance this season! The Consulate is excited to announce that following the Inventors' Fair, citizens interested in purchasing their own Fleetwheel can expect to see a Consulate-approved street-ready model made available.

>Ritiki: The Servo Companion
While the towering, magnificent gearhulks may be the first creations to draw visitors' attention at the fair, we advise fairgoers to seek out the more modestly-sized entries as well, as they are no less impressive. The advancements made in miniaturized automata are astounding; it doesn't take a loupe to see that the inventors behind these intricate designs are supremely talented. The Consulate is particularly excited to welcome inventor Ritika of the Countless Gears inventor society, as he displays his newest servo design for the judges. As a Countless Gears member, Ritika is well-known for his diminutive yet stunning sculptures. Now, it is clear that he has taken his mastery of the miniature and applied it to the mechanics of servo design. These little servo companions will be run through rigorous testing in this year's judging demonstration. They will face speed trials, agility courses, and vertical climbs that will push them to the limits. The Consulate looks forward to identifying the designs with the most potential for mass production.

Neerav Soni : Tradewind Airship inventor
One of the most vital tasks the Consulate performs is harvesting and distributing the aether that we all use to keep our vehicles moving, our automatons walking, and our city's gears in motion. While the Consulate's harvesting airships and spires bring a steady supply of aether into our city, we're always eager to be introduced to new and innovative methods that stand to increase the efficiency of our process. With its lightweight filigree, integrated fabrics, and unprecedented agility in the air, the Tradewind Airship has the potential to do just that! Up and coming designer Neerav Soni presents this airship design, which would allow pilots to safely navigate deeper into the aethersphere than ever before. Though Neerav's collection techniques may be somewhat unorthodox, we're more than a little excited to see what our judges think of this radical new design.

>>

>Ranbir is a humanoid mass of black aether with no sexual traits what's so ever. They have no gender.
Things without any gender can still use gendered pronouns and "he" is generally the default when gender is not present or unknown. Please learn your own language before you try to police it. Also, WotC has said nothing about if Aetherborn do or don't ever chose to take on gendered pronous or gender roles if they wish to.
He is wearing clothing that is particularly masculine for a humanoid (mostly exposed upper body) along with having a masculine build, it's fine to refer to them as "he" in casual conversation.

I don't know what this machine is or does, but I want ten of them.
>>
>>49352714
Ghirapur runs on 960 mana a day.
That's only 480 bears to power the city, placed in the machine at three minute intervals.
>>
>>49353105
Someone should really invent artifact Omnath so that they could push the 480 bears all at once and just store the mana instead of having to do it that often; seems awfully inefficient
>>

Can you really get 100% of the mana used to summon the creature out of the creature again? A lot of stuff gives you back less mana when sacrificing creatures.

>Good morning Ramesh!
>Good morning, Kumar. Why did you wake me up so early, the sun's not even out yet-
>I made an amazing new device! It that doubles our energy output! Now we can run the city using only 240 bears every day!
>Kumar, that's astounding! You'll revolutionize Ghirapur! I bet we could even impress the Council with it! We'll present it to them as soon as the sun rises.
>Ramesh, the sun already rose.
>Then why is it so dark outside?
>Well Ramesh, it turns out that the sun is a very good power conduit, and I thought no one would mind if I borrowed it...
>KUMAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!

No, it's in https://www.reddit.com/r/VaporwaveAesthetics/comments/457x9d/exactly_what_font_is_the_a_e_s_t_h_e_t_i_c_font/
Only place I could find it.

>Kumar has a real job
>it's powering the city
>it's really important and he does get paid for it
>he just has an unnerving amount of free time

>>49367854
Well, that's weird that it shows up as zalgotext, but 4chan really only supports like three alternate fonts.
They should be in the rules somewhere.

Goodbye, thread.

It was a good thread. Hopefully its archived.

Sorry I couldn't do more art today, was a little busy. I'll try and pop into Kaladesh Spoilers and Artificiers alley or the Snowflake threads when they happen in the future.
