What conspiracy theories can you shove into an "all the conspiracies were true" type setting that aren't as well known as the Illuminati or the Roswell incident?
>>
>>49523878
My favorite will always be Catholicism conspiracies. Or the idea that the Catholic church's archives are not allowed to be touched because they know something we don't.
>>
Flat Earth/Pond Earth/Concave Earth/combination of all three

Moon is a hologram

Our world is 200 years old, all of history is fake

UFOs are demons

"Inside the hollow Earth are aliens, Nazis, and the Lost Tribes of Israel"

Nazis colonized Antarctica, New Swabia

Nazi bases on the Moon

Sentient dinosaurs escaped into space before the Extinction Event, are now coming back

Deep Underground Military Bases (Dulce) connected via tunnels with glass trains

British send people into space they came back merged with mushrooms due to space radiation now it's a god that doesn't really do anything, it's stowed away on an underground base

If you're running a crazy conspiracy game online I wanna join

Some widespread commodity you've been ensured won't end anytime soon and are generally encouraged to consume is actually fairly limited and running out.

Some widespread commodity you've been assured is intensely rare and expensive is infact quite common and artificially inflated by its sole owner.

A certain group or sub group is being arbitrarily kept down by a society design solely to do so.

The water supply is being doped to keep citizens pacified and controlled.

The leadership is dropping controlled chemical weapons to artificially keep the medical treatments and knowledge of such things tip top.

Life exists in places we've been assured it possibly couldn't exist in and is infact quite common but kept secret for some arbitrary reason.
>>
>>49523878
Frankenstein was a retelling of actual events and the medical community has been lying out of its ass this whole time to keep the world from demanding immortality and causing the population from spiraling out of control. Why do you think it costs so much to go to medical school?
The 'monster' has had extensive plastic surgeries done to alter his appearance and now does guest lectures on philosophy at Seattle University.

No one alive can vouche for what happened outside of our lifetimes and the best we can do is know people that are at most (give or take) 100 years old who also at most (give or take) 100 years old.

Those first iteration people are in on it and raised the second iteration (your grand parents) with this belief who raised your parents to believe history who raised you as such and now we raise our kids like this.

Obviously its fake and theres trees and random artifacts around that easily disprove this.

Time Displaced Artifacts: things like bolts with machined threads encased in coal deposits and dug up in modern times or toothed metal gears doing complex calculations in coral that grew several centuries before even toothed gears were invented.
All possibly from highly advanced precursor civilizations that disappeared without any other hints or evidence.

>>49523878
The Finnish plot.
Black Dragon society.
The new international society.
Order of Assassins.

City of Tampere in general. Every single thing the city government tries to build is vehemently objected to because it clearly is a conspiracy by the city municipal, construction firms, the new world order, Sonera cellular service and the people of most boring Turku.

The "uncanny valley" is not irrational, it was caused by monsters/animals/aliens that disguised themselves as humans. A good lead to an illuminati thing is Adam Weishaupt. Allegedly killed Washington before he took office for the second time and stole his identity, planting the newly founded illuminati in the U.S. from the getgo.

Check out the bottom of the pyramid on the back of the dollar bill. See the letters, MDCCLXXVI? Roman numerals for 1776. Not the year our country was founded, which was 1787 when the Constitution was signed. But the year the Bavarian Illuminati was founded by Weishaupt.

I don't actually believe in any of this, but it's a good hook to get your players brains working.

The Greys made a deal with president Dwight D. Eisenhower that they would trade technology for a certain number of american citizens each year for study and food. These people are held in hidden FEMA camps located all over the continental United States and transported to the aliens living among us via hidden railway.

They made this deal to get one up on the reptilians who are also trying to harvest the human race, and the Poladians who are energy beings that are trying to wake up the human race to whats really going on. The Reptillians needs us because they are a slave race created by their Draconian masters out in space and left here after their war with the Anunnaki to try and shape human evolution for the Draconians. The Reptillians need us not only as a food source but as a means to throw off shackles of the Draconians and free themselves.

This is all a part of a secret shadow was between 11 separate alien races trying to control the Earth because it is a powerful node in a vast intergalactic leyline the supplies energy to all these races. It produces so much power because humans are the being in the galaxy with souls. That is why the Greys have been working so hard to create grey/human hybrid children. These are known as Indigo children, have vast untapped potential, and are the true New World Order that the Illuminati have been trying to bring about by manipulating the aliens. At a pre-appointed time all but the Indigo are going to be rounded up and executed by NWO Troops so the Indigo can gain control of those free floating souls, channel them into the intergalactic energy system, and set off a power surge that will wipe out the aliens not living on Earth along with most of the known universe. The Greys are in on it because they are also a slave race to higher aliens know as the Tall Whites.

Columbine was a result of MK Ultra conditioning going right. The government set it up so that they could turn School into a confined place students can't leave with armed guards walking around, a zero tolerance policy that punishes you for fighting back against an attacker, and a general air of mistrust between faculty and students.

This is so when a cop who's looking to meet his arrest quota throws you ass first into the prison-industrial complex you're more malleable and less likely to cause trouble because you've already been acclimatized to the conditions.

I have a good conspiracy based on my old campaign:

Tuskunga Event was the result of Nikola Tesla's wireless electricity technology.

He accidentally found a way to harness electrons in an area, and collide them in such a manner that they can be blown up anywhere in the world and with the force of a nuclear blast.

He wasn't killed. He was whisked away by the Russian government and had ordered him to remake his device for use against the Americans.

In the year 2017, that device will soon be complete.

Government funded satanic ritual molestation rings. Seemingly privately funded Christian summer camps set up on private island that are billed as reforming troubled youth, but are actually sex cults where rich fucks can fly in all their buddies from Bohemian Grove and have fun passing boys around.

The scary thing is most of that is true.

When the Sun shines upon Earth, 2 – major Time points are created on opposite sides of Earth – known as Midday and Midnight. Where the 2 major Time forces join, synergy creates 2 new minor Time points we recognize as Sunup and Sundown. The 4-equidistant Time points can be considered as Time Square imprinted upon the circle of Earth. In a single rotation of the Earth sphere, each Time corner point rotates through the other 3-corner Time points, thus creating 16 corners, 96 hours and 4-simultaneous 24-hour Days within a single rotation of Earth – equated to a Higher Order of Life Time Cube.

The world as we know it was created by an evil demiurge god-being. Jehovah, the ill tempered god of the old testament and Jews. Aryans are descended from the race of people that created Atlantis, whom in turn were descended from extraterrestrials from the Aldebaran system. Jesus was one of these Aryans. These ancient Atlantian people could use a psychic energy powered by "the Black Sun" to do amazing things, which still resides unconsciously in those descended from their blood.

One day there will be a final reckoning between the servants of the demiurge and the Atlantian beings of light for final stewardship of the Earth.

This is not a conspiracy theory, but something very very smart people actually believe for very good reasons.

I mean, what is humanity some day going to do with all our computer tech? Simulate a more simplistic universe to get a better understanding of it. And not just one, oh no, probably hundreds of thousands of virtual universes so you can do statistical analysis.

Considering that, the number of simulated universes must be extrodinary orders of magnitudes higher than the number of real universes, even if those real universes are infinite. That means it is simply more logical and more probable that we live in a simulated universe, possibly millions of layers down the endless matroschka of simulated universes.

I mean, look at shit like quantum entanglement, uncertainty and all that jazz. As a Games Engineer, this allways looked suspiciously like the simplifications of a "game" engine to me, where things just work if you look at them, but get more wibbly wobbly and all floating point math-like if you look at them too closely.

Bu it is by no means a "Conspiracy" theory, there is noone trying to fool us and cover up something, our creators possibly don't even know we exist. Kind of like some people joke that our universe is probably a C- science fair project dusting away in some school archive waiting to be incenerated.

not only was the moon landing a hoax but so is the moon itself you see in the 1800's america decided to build a giant mecha station to combat the sun should it turn on us and it definitely will but that sort of fell through due to budget cuts so they just kind of have a big cardboard cutout in the sky that they shine lights at

they also had to manually edit with photoshop or paint every painting of the night sky from before the 1800's and that's why if you burn a night time landscape painting from 250 years or older ago the moon burns first

One of my favorite conspiracy theories, just because it's so outlandish and so elaborate, is a combination of anti-semitism and electric universe theory that basically states that Saturn used to be the star that the Earth orbited, and that there's a conspiracy of Saturn worshipping cults dating back to that prehistoric age that are somehow trying to revive their dead god to recreate that situation.

Might be fun if your campaign also involves time travel. (Look up, giant hexagon in the sky.)

C E R N will destroy humanity permanently. It warps time and reality in a way that no human can even detect. Our world is already permanently changed and the changes are getting more and more rapid.

It also sits on Apollyon and abaddon.

Rev 9:11

…10They have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men for five months. 11They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon. 12The first woe is past; behold, two woes are still coming after these things.

It's worse than that, friend. Ever heard of an IP address? That's the mark of the beast.
>And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Simple really. They're going to put a microchip in every human, which will connected to the proverbial "internet of things", this will include integrating your bank accounts, health insurance information, among other atypically associated mobile capabilities.

In the society soon to come, you step out of line, they turn off your chip, I.E. blocking your IP address from interfacing with the network.

Believe whatever you like, they've been at this since the 80's.

I believe the 'mark' is spiritual, as well as symbolic, and physical.

It doesn't exactly make sense that the mark is a microchip. Why would it be when you can just get it cut out, or maybe kill someone else and use their microchip and avoid the whole 'beast' system? I think it'll be something else, not a microchip.

We'll know what it'll be when the time comes.

Phantom time hypothesis is so dumb it's fun.
>First published in 1991, the hypothesis proposes a conspiracy by the Holy Roman Emperor Otto III, Pope Sylvester II, and possibly the Byzantine Emperor Constantine VII, to fabricate the Anno Domini dating system retrospectively, so that it placed them at the special year of AD 1000, and to rewrite history. Illig believed that this was achieved through the alteration, misrepresentation, and forgery of documentary and physical evidence. According to this scenario, the entire Carolingian period, including the figure of Charlemagne, would be a fabrication, with a "phantom time" of close to three centuries (AD 614 to 911) added to the Early Middle Ages.

Oh boy I worked with a guy like that. He was a born-again christian and was really into it. Young-earth and stuff. He didn't believe in climate change, and while he never said "the jews did it" he said "and do you know where they got the money to do science, huh?" so any discussion about science turned into conspiracy time.

>>
>>49542180
Well that's ridiculous. Yes the jews are the ones that are funding climate change research, but they're also fostering the growing mistrust of science. That way the push back against climate change is going to get stronger the more people say it's happening, and they'll be free to heat up the world until it warm enough for their reptile bodies to operate at peak efficiency.

De Beers does not control the diamond market. Whatever the internet would have you believe.
>>

Isn't he frozen in the basement, waiting for the technology to be developed to cure him?

It was like ten years ago now that I heard about it, so I don't remember that much about it except that in the book where I read about it--which listed and explained supposedly every conspiracy theory in the world--started the segment on it with something like 'this is the cookiest theory in this entire book and you'd probably have to be legitimately insane to believe it, but for the sake of completion I have included it anyway'.

I think it's a Deus Ex joke.

For those who for some reason haven't played Deus Ex: at one point, the player meets with Morgan Everett, leader of the Illuminati, in his mansion. Exploring around, the player finds a very old man named Lucius DeBeers cryogenically frozen but conscious in the basement mansion, moaning about being cold. It turns out that DeBeers believes himself to the be the leader of the Illuminati. His second in command, Everett, suggested he be cryogenically preserved when he was diagnosed with an incurable disease, until the technology could be found to heal him. He kept him conscious the whole time, though, and has been consulting him to take advantage of his knowledge and experience (calling him a "one man think tank"). Unbeknownst to DeBeers, Everett has taken over the Illuminati soon after his freezing, and kept lying to him about how he'll one day thaw him out. Talking to Everett, he casually admits that the technology to heal DeBeers' disease has been available "for decades", but he has no intention of ever thawing him. The player can decide whether or not to tell that to DeBeers and if so, whether to turn off his life support.

I always avoided deus ex.
People keep hyping it beyond possible reason so unless its some trailblazer next level shit it will dissapoint me and it seems to be one of those black and white stories where the evil is evil because evil and good is good because good and the protag is some husky voiced emo who thinks lifes shit despite being a demigod.
>>
>>49545724

>unless its some trailblazer next level shit
It most absolutely certainly was when it came out in 2000. Don't know if you'll still consider it that, you kinda arrived late to the party.

> it seems to be one of those black and white stories where the evil is evil because evil and good is good because good

That is like the least accurate description of Deus Ex I have ever heard in my life, and I know someone who thought it was a medieval fantasy RPG. Literally doing any reading whatsoever about this game, including the text on the back cover of the box, will tell you that it's the complete opposite. It's a deeply cerebral l game that asks some serious (though nowadays somewhat less groundbreaking) questions about the nature of government, humanity, society, and the media and asks the player to decide for themselves which and who is good or evil. The possible endings range from handing the world over to the Illuminati, figuring that while universal surveillance may be a disturbing idea, they've evidently managed not to run it to the ground thus far and many of them genuinely believe that they could one day bring about a global spiritual awakening and unite humanity to turning off the internet and bringing humanity back to the level of self-sufficient city states on the idea that this is the only way anyone would ever be able to become truly free.

It can be disappointing if you play it 16 years too late, because you expect it to be completely revolutionary like it was in 2000, but it's still an EXCEEDINGLY well made game. There's a reason that to this very day many critics consider it the best video game ever made.

I suppose beyond my buddies gushing over it my only real exposure beyond vague explanations of lore and story is commercials where a guy with a goatee and sunglasses takes a drag from a cigarette before heaving a deep sigh and hearing something to the key of "I didn't ask for this." Or something before its shots of rocket arms and riot police shooting people.

My views could be a little skewed and biased i suppose.

also

>demigod

More like a slightly superhumanely strong and fast dude with very slight bullet resistant and regenerative qualities who MAY be able to become invisible (from people or from electronic devices, not both).

JC Denton is very underpowered compared to, say, the average Call of Duty series protagonist who could take down entire national armies with a rocket launcher and a chest high wall.
>>
>>49545871
Oh, you're talking about the third game in the series, not the first one.

It was good (I liked it a whole lot, and even my dad did, and he didn't even play any videogames before DX got him hooked), but it's not on the same level.

The moral conflict in the third game is less about any particular group of people being evil and more about the morality and ethics of transhumanism. If, like most of /tg/, you've made up your mind on the issue years ago, it probably wouldn't strike you as very impressive.
>>
>>49545891
Yes and no. I've had my buddies talk shop on it for what seems like 20 years now but the only media exposure i've had really was the commercials for the recent ones.

Pepsi hired a company known strictly for over the top crazy then told them they were paying them 1 million for it.
The company had to prove its worth so it made that little bit of crazy in PDF form which is actually just the tip of the iceberg as it was a cut down version for all present to sort of page through and keep up as a bigger, crazier, more in-depth sales pitch went on in the room.
They even made a song and car just for it.

Yeah, I think it might be why my dad enjoyed it so much. He used to be a nerd back in his youth (he read Dune and the Lord of the Rings and even wrote Star Wars fanfiction), but he grew out of it before the transhumanism deal ever hit the scene and so didn't have much familiarity of it before Human Revolution. He knew the concept, but never saw it being treated in such an in-depth fashion by a video game, so everything felt very thought provoking and mentally engaging for him. Upon reaching the ending, he honestly sat down for like an hour and a half contemplating which choice was the best (he ended up choosing the Illuminati/regulation choice, BTW).
>>
>>49547106
sarif way best way, the only truthfull way anyways. The transhumanist really hit when SF started getting more and more popular (i'd say Lem and Dick did their part here), sad part is that it's going away now. I want SF to have a comeback life fantasy did, god can i have Lem or Clark back? preaty please

Earth isn't flat it's convex like a bowl and it spins with the artic as its center point so all the water is "in" it like a pond. The sun follows a ring shape as does the moon with the equator basically being its "track".
>>
>>49549040
Oh. Almost forgot:
It makes more "sense" than flat earth cause now the water doesn't spill over the edge that is antartica which is cold cause its away from the sun the most and closer to space while the artic is cold cause magma doesn't exist as much near the "center" due to centrifugal force or some such.

Some stupid cunt on here once said World War I was staged and did not actually happen. The reason for convincing the world that one of the most destructive wars in history actually exists?

To sell cameras.

It still pisses me off because WWI happened less than one hundred years ago and you could still find people who remember it.

I think his logic was that there were lots of pictures of WWI...? And it would show just how powerful and cool cameras are, thus making people buy them because they were "new and interesting"(which is why they needed to stage WWI, because no one was buying cameras).

Even though cameras were extremely common for decades before WWI

Bananas. No really. They're all wildly vulnerable clones and the entire world supply of bananas is one mediocre bug away from just collapsing. Its a huge concern for certain parties because they've come to be in a lot of things.
