One last thread to see if anything else needs to be added before we make a 1d4chan page, basic gist of it is SOMETHING happened, and now some SoBs (and other faithful members of the Imperium) are manifesting as warp "angels"
Got some good art (such as the greater angel on the left) and the broad strokes worked out in the previous threads, just looking for last minute ideas/suggestions/changes before a full write up is made
>>
>>50722355
Why not just call it warped Angels?
It seems as good as any name
>>
>>50722507
Because I'm shit at names and no one else had any other suggestions I think
Also that's good, I really like it
>>
>>50722859
Or if they did I don't really remember it, it's late though
>>
>>50722507
I'm not so sure it really fits. Like all organizations of the Imperium are organized under really latinish / actual latin names. Warped angels might be a good layman term for the group, but it doesn't fit the the themes of the Imperium.
>>
>>50723008
Suggestions?

Come to think of it, we probably need specific names for what different types of them are called other than just lesser and greater
>>
Repost the art?
>>
>>50723018
I think the greater daemons were called Ebom Avengers or Canonizers or something
>>
>>50722355
Something we definitely need to do before we hammer out a 1d4chan page is to figure out what exactly is going on with the other races, plus what the other kingdoms of chaos are and if they have any previously Imperial planets.

LIDia best girl.
>>
before we go any further, I'll put down the gist of it for any newcomers

>the Emperor ascends to the rank of Chaos God
>Holy Terra and a good space around it is consumed within a massive, Eye of Terror-esque warp storm
>the Black Crusades and other forces of the ruinous powers make a massive push into Imperial territory, conquering incredible swathes of it
>the Imperium begins to hold their ground once they get their shit together again, but they're a fraction of what they were
>compounding matters is that a large number of Imperials have turned traitir, refusing to accept the thong that ate Terra as the Emperor
>infighting eventually divides the Black Crusade claimed space into four "kingdoms", one aligned to each god
>the Daemon Primarchs of each god is the leader of each kingdom
>in response, thd Emperor brings Guilliman to apotheosis as a Daemon Prince to lead the Imperium
>thos event send warp energy through every Ultramarine Librarian mutating them all into horrific shapes; they soon went underground as a secret imperial police of sorts
>the Emperor in the warp may not even be the real Emperor; there are takes all.across the galaxy of a mighty, wise, gilded, yet decaying space marine greater then any other helping those in need with his power and wits
>>
>>50724222
We also need to figure out which chapters turn traitor, and to who.
>>
>>50724580
Can drawanon redraw LIDia, but cuter? I wanna mini-waifu her, but she just looks too weird.

Would the Eldar be in a different situation since 40K, since a lot of time has probably passed?

What about the Tau or the Orks?
>>
>>50724222
>>50724685
Guy offering to make the 1d4chan page here, to be honest I was mostly going to focus on the angels and not so much the rest of the setting when writing up the page, I was asleep through most of that discussion and not sure I really followed it

>>50725440
I'm not sure we have an actual time frame of things here, not sure the Orks or Tau would care though, other than thinking the Humans have a new type of unit being fielded, Eldar might be full blown panicking if they see this as early signs of humanity's equivalent of their fall
>>
>>50725440
>Tau
Extinct or on the brink of extinction. Having the Chaos Imperium get shit together and declare a full scale crusade against them will do that to a species.
>>
>>50725990
Honestly, if that happened ai think all of the lower-numbered races would be screwed, even the Eldar. If humanity got its shit together, AND had a chaos god backing them, they'd be a steamroller.
>>
>>50726039
Not only that, it's not just one god.
Emps is part of Chaos Undivided now they have the other 4 behind them when things get really serious.
>>
>>50726138
>Emps is part of Chaos Undivided now
Not sure about this part, have trouble buying a god who's adamant about "FUCK CHAOS" would join chaos
>>
>>50726172
Agreed. Even if he's a Chaos god, humanity doesn't believe he's a Chaos god. They'd still be against the Ruinous Powers.
>>
>>50726222
I mean I see him as a warp entity, but one of Chaos? Hell no, honestly probably something closer to Gork+Mork or the Hivemind than Chaos, a psionic being made of the faith of humanity gone cancerous and feeding on itself in the warp and "FUCK CHAOS" is a major part of said faith
>>
>>50726172
>>50726222
to be fair, it's not like chaos isn't already at war with itself.
a "FUCK CHAOS" god would fit right in, since it would be "FUCK CHAOS, but what we do is okay", which is what the other gods do as well.
>>
>>50726172
>>50726222
>>50726290
He probably wouldn't "join" chaos, but he would probably learn to tolerate the rubbing of shoulders every once in a while.

Like, say an Ork Waagh attacks the borders between the Imperium and the kingdom of Khorne; they'll probably band together for a bit to take them out before going back to killing each other. Kind of like how the Black Crusades only happened because the followers of the 4 existing gods all had the same goal. Once a crusade ends, you can bet your ass that all the CSM who participated immediately have knifes to each other's throats.
>>
>>50726451
>>50726529
Eh, not really?
I mean this is above and beyond typical chaos being opposed to chaos shit, like Malal or Necho levels "FUCK CHAOS", this isn't on the level of the other big four where Tzeentch is against Nurgle cause one is born of hope and one is born of despair, the Emperor as a God would be born of FUCK CHAOS in the same way, and at best would be violently opposed to being lumped in with the others, actually trying to use him as part of Chaos Undivided would either earn you a smiting or get you on his shit list
>>
Why an Angler fish tho?

Is this some oblique God Emperor of Dune reference?
>>
>>50726609
Initial idea involved them having aspects of deep sea creatures, I think we've dropped that for the most part, personally I think they should mostly be glorifying the human form instead of having animalistic traits worked in
>>
>>50726609
Nah, the initial broad strokes involved SoB Daemons being based around Deep Sea FREAKY Life. That was eventually called stupid and led to the Greater Daemon, The Ebon Avenger.

I suppose we could rule that Lesser & Greater Daemons having different aesthetics depending on which "Order" they belonged to.

Daemon Steeds/Beasts belong to everyone who the Soach-Emperor believes worthy.

Deamon Primarchs/Princes rule their Chapter/Order respectively.

P.S. Fuck the fish-speakers.

>>50726222
>>50726290
>>50726451
>>50726529
>>50726544
I personally think that the more explicit "FUCK CHAOS" role Is better served by the traitor Imperials who broke off after Emps aacended.
It could be a nice foil if the Traitor Imperials played up the more military parts of the Imperium while those who stayed with God Emps have the religious parts played up, so we have a faction even more warp hating then the Canon Imperium, while the Emperor worshippers are far more like a mix between the Inquisition and a chaos cult to show that they're beggining to fall to the same kind of corruptions every other worshipper of the Ruinous Powers does.
>>
>>50726663
Eh, I'd say the fishface can stay in, albeit as one of the extreme variations their 'armor' may have, I've said this earlier but I'd consider the current art for the lesser angel to be the high end of how armored and nonhuman like they'd look, most lesser angels would look closer to your typical SoB in my opinion, albeit melded into their armor to the point you can't really tell how much is armor and how much is skin

>>50726699
I still don't buy a warp entity born of the most faithful members of the imperial creed EVER considering working with chaos, the Emperor (or whatever it is that was born of their faith) is a GOD, calling him a chaos god though would be blasphemy of the highest order
>>
>>50726750
Seconded. My personal take on the Chaos-Emperor is that he's able and willing to still the entire warp and live on solely within the hearts and minds of his Imperial Cult. Whereas Chaos generally isn't. Malal doesn't count since he's an essential balancing mechanism of Chaos.
>>
I'm going to come forth and say that on terms of names, I think that we should call the Imperial Guard daemons Hatemarchers and the SoB daemons Paragons.
>>
>>50726863
Give me a name for Adeptus Mechanicus Daemons and I'll support you.
>>
>>50726750
Thirded. When the entire platform of the Ecclesiarchy is "FUCK CHAOS AND XENOS" I can't see the resulting god haveing any tolerance of chaos.
>>
>>50726863
Ooo, Paragons is nice.

Paragons, Hate marchers, Canonizers, and .... can't think of Mechanicus.
>>
>>50726881
>>50726912
We should orobably.think of what the Omnissiah's daemons would be lie before we think of names, in my opinion.

On that topic, I can see the minor daemons being humanoids made purely of tubes and various mechantrides, along with a cluster of glowing red mechanical eyes.
>>
>>50726994
I presume most Mechanicus were unable to accept the reality of the God-Emperor Ascendant and rebelled, being purged and ejected from Heaven. Those who could were effectively superfluous. Minor, still-mortal, techpriests were still around to repair and fix stuff, but with Mar's monopoly on technology shattered, there's no niche for them.

Most have gone on to re-learn how to talk to the Machine Spirits that manifested themselves on occasion. This tends to take the form of offering detailing work to the chassis they inhabit, or providing them transport to another chassis.

Seriously though, what the fuck do the Daemon Mechanicus do in the Emperor's Heaven?
>>
>>50726912
Techne?
>>
>>50727092
>Seriously though, what the fuck do the Daemon Mechanicus do in the Emperor's Heaven?
My idea was that somehow, the entire planet of Mars managed to escape the Emperor's birth, and that it took most of the techpriests with it. Since the Mechanics would at that point be a truly seperation entity from the Imperium, the Omnissiah's daemons probably aren't in the Emperor's domain at all, instead having their own warpspace where the Cult's tech love ends up.
>>
I'd say the Grey Knights fucked the nope right out of there the instant they saw the Eye of Terra open up. They lost a lot of good shit when their home-base blew up.
I'd fluff them as Marines Errant. Those who were meant to save the Imperium of Man from the threat of Chaos have failed utterly. Their only atonement lies in educating the Imperial remnants of humanity that continue to resist the filth that the Human Empire has become in how to more effectively fight Daemons.
These are practical things like: how to make holy incense, symbols of holy warding, Anti-Daemonic Engravings; applicable to buildings and armor, anointing weapons in sanctified oils, etc. And all without breaking the bank.

>>50724580
General reminder for whoever concerns themselves with /u/
Immaculate conception is a thing. And may even be required if the mortal population is decimated as it may be. Imagine it, parthenogenesis from an Angel's touch. Though they'd be blanks for sure. No soul of their own except for whatever part of herself the Angel deigns to gift.
>>
>>50726994
I'd suggest my idea from the last thread of vaguely reptilian skeletal machines
Though personally I'm not too sold on the idea of Mechanicus demons, I'd probably have either them in the background, mostly the same as always or have machine spirits get MAJOR boosts
>>
>>50727991
>Immaculate conception is a thing. And may even be required if the mortal population is decimated as it may be. Imagine it, parthenogenesis from an Angel's touch. Though they'd be blanks for sure. No soul of their own except for whatever part of herself the Angel deigns to gift.
Not sure I like the idea of them being blanks even if it makes sense, though if you treat it as cloning I'm pretty sure in 40K clones have souls, they just also have real shit luck

On the other hand if there are a lot more blanks they may end up the foot soldiers while the actual souled humans are herded into the SoB/ministorum
>>
>>50722355
God, that thing looks just plain retarded.
>>
>>50728017
Seconded. Instead of Machine Spirits being the face of anthropomorphisations of mechanical problems and quirks, have them be literal Daemons Spirits in the Machine. Which need to be appeased and bribed and threatened as needed.
Most small things like drills don't need much appeasement, though the bigger shit like spaceships now need more prayer strips and ointments than before.
The best thing to happen is that the Spirits now have more reason to protect their shell than ever before, and sacrifice it if provided with enough... encouragement.
i.e. An automatic drill will not shake as much if it is given gilding along it's outsides.
i.e. A Spirit which has "grown up" with tales of the Omnissiah and how great it is to give of oneself in the path of praising him will be willing to kamikaze itself; sometimes when it is not warranted nor wanted.

The Chaos Imperium is carved into 5 Empires of Chaos, and fucktillion worlds of Humanity trying to just fucking survive.
The Tau would be having a fuck orgy over how easy it is to expand now that humanity has eased off. Hell, they'll have so much gue'la that there might even be trouble brewing about how they outnumber the core Tau on far too many worlds.

This could be a good way to show that the Tau's Greater Good only works when presented with a clear goal/present enemy. Show the break-down of the Tau Empire as underhanded Socialists and Communists try to make their own interpretation of The Greater Good.

>When out of the darkness comes Malal!
>A deal is cut between Biggy E and MAL-al.
>Malal is going to cull every single life-force on Terra, and the Emperor is going to let him.
>Malal will then pour that energy into the Emperor and he will hold the beacon until someone comes along and restarts the soul-feeding/throne-repairing.
>The Emperor continues fighting against Chaos and Malal has fucked with yet another godly entity. Everyone wins!
>Except the Emperor takes the collective life-force of the devout on Terra (along with some dregs) including his Companions, and uses the the collective energy to open the Eye of Terra!
>Within this half-real, half-immaterial realm the Emperor, buoyed by an entire world's worth of souls begins constructing a Chaos God-Entity based upon himself, having finally given up on his original plan and instead hoping a literal god will help guide the Imperium better than he could.
>Malal, being the little shit he is decides he wants in. And by in I mean he tears himself apart and sneaks part of himself into the soulmass of humanity being used to create the Emperor Ascendant. Hoping that he can better destroy Chaos by puppeting humanity directly.
>Emperor reminds Malal of the sanctity of consent, Malal says he hasn't heard of it, and so the Emperor Ascendant is born torn between two godly beings, one lesser and one greater, aye, but godly nonetheless.

Others will see this as a way of getting the more moderate i.e. the ones who don't want to kill all non-humans eventually, on their side.

I'd see them employed a lot more as Traders, crossing the divisions between the many Empires that pop up to continue the flow of materials that sustain each world.

>>50754030
We still need entries on the general backstory, the actual Emperor being replaced by the fifth chaos god formed in his image then becoming an Odin figure and the Void Dragon stealing mars.
>>
>>50750474
A weakened shard of the Void Dragon ended up on Earth in the middle Ages. It preyed on the kingdoms of man and demanded sacrifices of virgin princesses to be given to it.

The Emperor in the guise of a knight battled the Shard and defeated it. He realized that destroying the Dragon was something beyond his power so he envisioned another use for it.

He teleported to Mars and bond the Dragon there. Speed forward thousands of years later, the Martian colonist would be influenced by the dreams of the sleeping Star God hidden in their new home.

>This was all part of the Emperor's plan all along. Somehow.
>>
>>50753766
The line between a heretic and a loyalist gets pretty blurry when the Emperor has become a chaos god.

What about an ordinary Imperial citizen who fights against the daemons of the Emperor because he's spent his entire life being told that anything to do with Chaos is evil and must be purged? His intentions are pure, and he doesn't understand that he's resisting the Emperor's will.

What about straight-up Chaos worshipers who have converted to the cult of the Ascended Emperor instead of one of the other four gods? Their faith in Big E is true, but they're obviously evil cultists.
>>
>>50755823

The Imperium never had much respect for life to begin with, and we're talking about the most fanatical members of an already fanatical part of the Imperium transcending mortality to become daemons.

Any question of whether someone should die is going to be resolved with the old "Kill them all, the Emperor will know his own" kind of thinking.

>>
>>50760298
Didn't even consider that. Holy hells bells, we're going to have Necrodermis Servitors! Cadian Pylons used to extract Daemon Worlds for mining! A new C'tan empire born from the mingling of mortal flesh and immortal metal!

Anyone remember this old CGI cartoon from the late 90s?
>>

Probably won't end any better for the mechanicus than it did for the necrontyr.

>The Void Dragon doesn't create a new body of its own. Instead it possesses machinery. Specifically, all of the machinery on mars. Simultaneously.

>Probably won't end any better for the mechanicus than it did for the necrontyr.

No fucking doubt about that. It'd probably Shard itself throughout every piece of Tech "big" enough to hold it. That's one way to make sure no-one's going to fuck you over like last time.

It will take some time though. Initially it would seem like a divine message to the Mechanicus, an Avatar of the Omnissiah has come from within Holy Mars itself to spirit them away from the Heresy of the Imperium made evident by the Eye of Terra.
The people who still believe that the Omnissiah and Emperor are still aspects of the other in any way (or simply don't deny it fervently enough) are purged, leaving only those that truly believe in the Void Dragon to live.
But entropy reigns, and the Adeptus Mechanicus, the red-robed ministers to technology, will devolve into the mindless servitors of a C'tan on the rise.
>>
>>50761475
>The Adeptus Mechanicus, the red-robed ministers to technology, will devolve into the mindless servitors of a C'tan on the rise.

That would be merciful compared to what awaits the mechanicus. Servitors retain human souls. That's kind of the point of them.

The Void Dragon will consider those a light snack.
>>
>>50761624
Going by that the story evolves into:
>After a good while the entirety of the Mechanicus has been indoctrinated to worse levels than the Imperial Cult in Heaven.
>After ascertaining that the stars are right, mostly by moving Mars until he gets the right view, The Void Dragon {VD} decides to fuck the Mechanicus one last time.
>He reveals unto them the wonders of Necrodermis and of "ascendance from the mortal realm".
>Mech's, being the technophilliac nutcases they are almost kill each other (discretely) to get higher up the stack-order to resleeving into a purely metallic form.
>VD says stop this, because he want to eat as many souls as possible during the conversion from meat to metal to build up his strength for the coming wars.
>Soon a new Necron Dynasty is established under the enclosed atmosphere of Mars. Dedicated utterly to VD.
They look like Mechanicus Necrons, less skeletal, Egyptian shit and more cogs, pistons, wires, tubes and shit.
>>
No one else gonna edit the 1d4chan page?
>>
>>50762346
what's there to add?
>>
>>50762346
>>50763344
The general setting, like the stuff about the 5 kingdoms and how the true Emperor wanders the stars
>>
>>50761825
How about more draconian/reptilian necrons? A mixture of Tulsa Doom and giger artwork in Mechanicus robes.
>>
>>50732070
"i dont like fun, or things that I disagree with."

fuck off. See, I can do it too.
>>
>>50763670
Well, I've added shit. Reads like shit. Gonna need some more people to help.

Also, I want to change the name of the page to "Emperor Ascendant". Any Nayes or Ayes?

Aye.
>>
>>50764316
Seconding. It makes more sense since the scenario has expanded beyond just chaos Sisters into an overall alternate 40k.
>>
>>50761825
>They look like Mechanicus Necrons, less skeletal, Egyptian shit and more cogs, pistons, wires, tubes and shit.

Mechanicus and Egyptian traits don't necessarily need to clash.

Techno-mummies. Imagine a mummified humanoid figure only with thin segmented mechadendrites replacing bandages.
>>
>>50767111
The mummy is empty. Just a hollow shell of a humanoid figure made from mechadendrites. It can unravel itself into a writhing cluster of mechadendrite tentacles instead of humanoid form at will.

The only parts of the body not made from metal tendrils would be the eye sockets. Hollows in the wrapping of the face which glow green.

Weapons and tools are independent but when using them, the mechadendrites making up the arm unwrap from humanoid shape and re-wrap around whatever they're handling.

>we need drawfriends on this, Void Dragon Mars and Imperial Sphinxes

Bump
>>

Thanks, as for the name, I say whatever everyone else does, i'm shit at naming
>>
>>50764335

>>50769192
Done and done, "Warped Angels" also redirects to "Emperor Ascendant" in case you're just that lazy.
>>
>>50760728
Shadow Raiders? I vaguely remember it
>>
We should probably flesh out those kingdoms of chaos a but more.

I will say that I wouldn't mind there being new chaos legions/chapters, so it's not just World Eaters for Khorne, and also so they can feel a bit more equal to the imperium.

I think Emps would become the only god of order if he acended to godhood.
With that being said, how did the Eldar have gods ? Where did they come from ? Where they also related to the Realm of Souls before it became shit ?
>>
>>50771031
>With that being said, how did the Eldar have gods?
Not too sure on this part of the lore but answering things from what I understand of them

>Where did they come from ?
I think this depends on the edition, but I believe the most recent one has them as a preexisting pantheon that were either co-opted by the Old Ones when they uplifted the Eldar or Old One warp constructs they built based on the preexisting Eldar pantheon
I think older lore either had them as created whole cloth by the Old Ones when they created the Eldar, or constructs/warp-based AIs intentionally created by the Eldar themselves which they then proceeded to worship because reasons

>Where they also related to the Realm of Souls before it became shit ?
Sorta, they were prefuckup warp entities so they existed in the Realm of Souls at least
>>
>>50767212
>need drawfriends on this
Work is hell because end of the year deadlines are fast approaching. But I have a whole week off after that, and it's highly likely I'll finish the sphinx and the steed in that time.

As for designs, settle on designs for all of the daemons/machine spirits in this thread (which I think has largely happened) and I'll add them to the 1d4 page as I finish them.
>>
>>50771799
Thanks for all your hard work Drawanon
You're shit's great
>>
>>50726912
Gear-grinders?
>>
>>50772299
Not sure they'd call their demons that, use it as an insult maybe
>>
>>50773636
>fucking gear grinders
If fits
>>
Bump?
>>
>>50776373
What's there to bump for? We're done. All that's left to us the grind of translating this drivel into a background.

Post green stories about the Crusades the Emperor-Ascendant sends out in the material realm to re-unite his Empire.

About what life is like on the worlds that Chaos rule, but have yet to succumb to the Warp.

About the Imperial Army, about the Navigators, about the remaining Sisters of Battle that remained upon Ophelia VII when the great migration to Terra took place, about the interactions they had with their Daemonic Sisters.

Write, Discuss, Talk.
>>
>>50776757
>All that's left to us the grind of translating this drivel into a background.
Then let's do that. (but not me, because I'm tired af, sempai.)
>>
>>50779451
Original 1d4chan creator here, I'm shit at writing so I'm waiting for someone else to do it
>>
>>50767111
>>50767212
Have the remains of the Mechanicus's original organic body inside the mummy. The wrappings were grafted onto the flesh, then the flesh died and the wrappings superseded it. A hollow shell of interwoven metal tentacles with a skeleton inside, the bases of the tentacles bolted into the bones.
>>
>>50783503
This
>>
>>50760191
Probably like the old shoulder angel/shoulder devil archetype. Friendly competition (most of the time).
>>
So what's going on with the space marines?
>>
What concepts would the Emperor be in charge of, besides his emotions?
>>
GUYS GUYS

There is a new inquisitor coming out in 40k and apparently she doesnt trust Saint Celestine and considered her "warp spawn"
>>
>>50788176
And 40k grows more retarded by the minute.

I'd gladly go back to stagnation any day.
>>
>>50788202

but isant this thread about imperial daemons?
>>
>>50788477
Which is a fine fan canon idea, but not actually a good idea for the real canon.
>>
>>50787012
I'd say every chapter gets Imperial mutations, not sure exactly what they'd be though. I'd guess it'd be on a chapter by chapter basis, sort of like if the Wulfen were the entire space wolves
>>
>>50788498
Says you. I've supported Celestine being a warp angel since day one.
>>
>>50788498
>yfw gw lurks /tg/ for flavor ideas
>>
>>50789861
honestly wouldn't be surprised if that's why there's so much 40k on here
>>
When this thread began, pic related was but a dream. But our faith hath summoned Celestine into the materium
>>
>>50791451
Good job team
Good job
>>
Bumumump
>>
So, we have:
>Grimbright Emperor Daemons
>C'tan/Mechanicus borgs controlled by the Void Dragon
>Marines Errant including Imperial Knights (probably), and Anti-Daemon-focused guard (The Found and Blessed?)
>Tau probably a non-issue, on the brink of extinction
That leaves Eldar, Orks, 'Nids, and Kay-oss.

If we're flipping everything on its head, why not see a 'saturday morning' version of Chaos, where all their positive traits are in full effect as the balance of the galaxy tips. If being the only available positive force is what causes increased disorder in the galaxy, would they do it?
>>
>>50794689
I don't think that they would be a positive force, but those aspects may very well be exaggerated.
