That's funny - we're fighting the same roll we got for our allies. We're a fun bunch!

Let's review where we're at now that the rolling's finished:

>We're a legion warband with a close connection to some allies
>Said allies are a specific group of fellow renegades
>We're descended from the Night Lords
>We're neutral on the gods by default
>We're also undivided by default
>We're a gang of freedom-loving pirates who love to corroborate with xenos filth
>We also hunger for flesh and probably eat our fair share of it
>We have either a chosen one or a terminator as our figure of legend, who decided to assfuck an entire Eldar craftworld. They're still pissed about this.
>We come from a feral world with no air. I don't know how this works but I like it.
>We use a lot of daemons in our combat doctrine, but we're also still slight terrorist fucks since we're Night Lords AND pirates.
>Our specialty is specialized armor and we're slightly understrength in terms of marines, but we roll with plenty of allies and daemons to recoup our losses
>we actually DO have a lot of marines, they're all just out doing whatever they want since they're pirates.
>we have a particular hatred for another group of renegades. Hey, it's a cutthroat life.

And that's the end of the rolling.

Some possible names

>Goldfangs
>Sanguine Raiders
>Black Marauders
>Red Kings
>>
>>51531186
Red Kings is pretty kickass, but what would the color scheme be? There are a LOT of red CSM warbands and making one stand out would be a bitch.

Maybe red with the white lightning on the legs like their parent legion?
>>
>>51531521
Black with red lightning?

Red with black feathers painted throughout their armour?

Black with gold teeth motifs, red wings and white lightning?
>>
>>51532141
Feathers would be a bitch but it would look good.
>>
For some reason I am absolutely captivated with the idea that there are demon-kroot auxiliaries in this warband, since kroot are well known for being mercenaries and probably would be willing to work alongside this band

Without a shaper, they probably would eat of demons on their own and start to mutate to resemble them. I wonder what this would produce
>>
>>51532141
I'd say gold teeth motifs, Red armor with black highlights and white lightning on the legs
>>
>>51532747
I'm just thinking it would be a neat VK:R reference, as evidenced here >>51530938

As for history I'm thinking something like this

>Fuedal world gets hit with a Warp Virus, turning them into blood sucking freaks
>=][= revs ups to slap them in the face with the full force of it's length and girth
>Tau offers them a way out for joining Greaber Goob : DDD
>Being Gue’Vesa sucks dick
>Ditch the tau dragging along some dog soldiers and no small number of Kroot with them
>Get folded into a NL splinter cell, who surprise surprise, catch the nasty warp virus and become vamp freaks as well
>The Red Kings now chill with DEldar and eccentric Necron
>>
>>51532939
Sounds nice, does this mean we can do a Lost and Damned + Kroot as allies/auxiliaries
>>
>>51533122
I think there should be an emphasis on DEldar and Kroot, since they both suit the themes of the Red Kings

I'm not quite sure what should be done about the whole Daemon thing, or how to tie that into piracy or vampirism, considering we can't be bothered with the Ruinous Powers
>>
So here's something to consider. These noble anons mentioned the ever fantastic Chimera Legion >>51528846 >>51529866 and it struck me that something interesting to do is to have the Red Kings be mirrored opposites.

The Chimera Legion is a COBRA/ISIS terrorist group with an inhouse dogma purpose built to keep the subordinate humans in check, who worship the warband's leader as God.

I think it may interesting to swap the relationship of the Marines and the "humans" and have the humans in charge and the marines subordinates. Perhaps even have the marines be slavering beasts and the "humans" cunning manipulators.
>>
File: ITSSTHE BEYBLAAAAADE.jpg (98 KB, 540x382)
98 KB
98 KB JPG
>>51533587
Maybe not the humans, but the DEldar, since they are being incorporated

It just seems so unlikely that a human of any kind in a chaos warband, where might=right, would lead around marines, at least to me

In my mind, DEldar are more likely to be able to manipulate the marines within the warband while still seeming to be in a subordinate position due to the general craftyness that Eldar have over humans
>>
>>51533650
Unless the virus turned the Astartes into mindless beasts. Either way I think with this particular warband, guille is more potent than brawn.

As for DEldar, I mention them simply because I think they fill out the socialite aspect of vampires rather well, and occupy the "court" of the Kings, whereas the Tarrellians and the Kroot would be more like foot soldiers/elite guard

What if the virus infects races pretty indiscriminately? So the DE aligned with the faction are infected too. The reason the warband has chaos as its preferred enemy is because they're constantly fighting off slaaneshi daemons trying to consume the infected DE? not to mention, this could be why daemons follow them wherever they go. >>51533477
>I'm not quite sure what should be done about the whole Daemon thing, or how to tie that into piracy or vampirism, considering we can't be bothered with the Ruinous Powers

Not worshiping the "Gods" of Chaos isn't the same as not using the powers of the warp. Summoning hordes of gargoyle-esque furies seems like it's right up the "chaos vampire" theme.
>>
>>51550567
That would definitely be good origin for our planet, and why the =][= was eager to dickstomp us/chaos gave us VampAIDS, but I think at this point the Red Kings should be fleet based, no?

Or perhaps have a few dedicated ships?

I just feel that a world would be dangerous to have considering the vast amount of enemies they have
>>
>>51551263
The "home world" could be a series of asteroid colonies, or it's location could be a secret. Making it a recruiting ground they return to regularly, rather than a base of operations. Obviously, if they are pirates, most of their activity is going to be fleet based.
>>
So a thought as to why the human Vamps are in control

Maybe the virus reacts with Astartes organs bizarrely and slowly turns them into Varghulf/Vargheist like creatures. Like our terminator hero of legend is this Daemon Primce sized bat monstrosity.
>>
>>51545911
>>
>>51554875
>>
>>51551904

Or it could be that the Marine's biology doesn't react to the virus much at all. Astartes bio-engineering was designed to be more resistant to warp influences than normal humans. The former humans are the real vampires, and the Astartes are just the muscle. The Vamps are the sophisticated plotting aristocratic types, while the Astartes are savages. We rolled up cannibals from a Feral World after all.

The daemonic pact rules in Dark Heresy (not to mention the "gifts" in Black Crusade) actually make it easy to build a cult of vampires. I'm talking full-blown blood-thirsty immortals with spooky psychic powers. Make those guys the counts of the courts. The Night Lord / Red Kings are their Knight analogs; enforcing their will but chafing under their rule. Then fill out the ranks with a variety of Human and Xenos mercenaries like the mutated Kroot, Dark Eldar, and (potentially) other races. The large numbers of daemons rolled up are vast swarms of Furies conjured up to serve as the first wave of most assaults, plus the "Vampires" who have also gained the "Daemonic" trait due to their age and power (think Daemon princes as Vampire Counts).

So maybe our Varghulfs and Vargheists are actually our Kroot?

Or Terminator of legend could be some sort of beast master that has managed to contain the beasts. He's famed for setting them upon the eldar, and his Varkroot/Krootgoi feasted upon their soul stones giving them immense power. His cadre can have DEldar beastmasters as well, giving him little favor with the Eldar

>>51558177
I want some burly ass nosferatu looking motherfuckers.
>>
>>51559320
There's bound to be some Astartes that willing give themselves to the curse with the help of some DEldar flesh warpers
>>
>>51559320
>>51559640
And nothing to say that the humans can't get jacked on blood and enhancements
>>
So who's our leader?

>>
Where did everyone go?
>>
>>51560608
Perhaps it's the Terminator? Or perhaps the Chosen?
>>
>>51566638
No, the Terminator is too blunt. For a Vampiric Pirate admiral we need something a little more suave

What if we do both? Have the Admiral be a Terminator or Chosen who's constantly suave and debonair, fancy ass armor, drinking wine in goblets, attaches a goddamn cloak to his armor, the works. However, this is basically one giant facade for the fact that he's the most bloodthirsty motherfucker in the fleet.
Maybe the vampirism mixing with the mutations of chaos and the astartes genome has made him look human or at least not particularly inhuman at first glance, but the second he rages it cracks apart and you get a giant hulking death-nosferatu in power armor tearing open dreadnoughts with his bare hands.
>>
>>51568504
Also how's this for a possible battle cry?
>"Drink Deep!"
>>
>>51568558
Alternatively.
>"DRINK UP ME HEARTIES, YO HO!"

I feel this is either perfect or terrible and I can't decide which
>>
>>51568504
I think the leader should be of former human stock, not Astartes. I agree with you on the mostly normal looking part, then turning into a hideous monstrosity once he's inraged.

I think he should be a Chosen, and the Terminator be another guy. This guy, lets call him Lord Admiral for now as a rank, despite his disdain for the Gods, and his loathing for the curse has in a twist of fate become a Chosen by Chaos, whether he's Undivided or Malal is unclear. This gives him the stature and power necessary for Astartes and Xenos to not think twice about challenging him.

As for his personality, I think he should be more of the brooding kind of vampire, very dour and calculating with this intense fury always bubbling under the surface. This sets him apart from decadent fag vampires, bodacious swashbucklers, and the openly savage strigoi. He's all business, and everyone hates and loves him for it.

>>51568558
Very, very, very good.

>>51569028
That's a fun pardoy that the lowest ranks and mercs can use.

I think the warband gets increasingly more piratical as one descends the ranks. It's like a sliding scale for Vampire <->Pirate, with the Lord Admiral being more of a vaguely nautical Vampire Count, the lowest ranking vamp just a pale bilge rat, and the middle management is the perfect harmony of Pirate and Vampire, and thus acts as the perfect bridge for the upper and lower ranks
>>
>>51569028
Somethin' and something, really bad eggs.
>>
>>51572005
What?
>>
>>51539514
We use what amount to drop pods with daemonic summoning rituals inside. Make a giant drop pod using brass and cover it with runes, pour a shitload of blood, guts and a few living slaves into it, seal it shut, wave our hands over it and chant something and then launch it at the enemies before it explodes into bloodletters.

Riding Flying Foxes the size of vans. While relatively docile in their natural habitat, the powers of chaos and blood whip them into a brutal and terrifying frenzy

Chosen of the Gods, Lord Admiral of his own fleets

He brokers no arguments, no exceptions

His fleet might as well be his own personal daemon world, for his world there can shift every man, every ship, every gun wherever he but whispers it to

His countenance is one of granite or steel, and is a firm as his orders

Among the Imperium, he would be a well-respected admiral or a general of great renown

But this man is no fool, and only a fool fights for the Imperium these days

And how many fools there are, ripe for plunder

Though the man-made-Chosen fights only for himself, the gods have seen fit to curse him with blood-thirst and other unwanted gifts

Though the "gifts" make his lips curl in disgust at the thought of them, they have been useful in destroying his enemies and enforcing his will over the stronger and more willful of crewmates
>>
>>51576993
ah shit

*his word
not world
>>
>>51576993
Though seemingly a man of intense discipline, he quite enjoys the splendor his piratical ways bring him

His ship is a sleek one, powerful and lithe, but is a much a personal palace as it is a battleship

It contains many trophies from his many conquests and sackings, many rare and valuable tomes stolen from across the galaxy, food, wine, gold and many other luxuries the Lord Admiral favored for himself

Among his personal library and study there is an entire wall devoted to bottled vintages of blood taken from enemies he found great respect for. There are many bottles upon the wall, for the Lord Admiral has beaten many impressive foes. He has taken to sipping at whichever vintage he is in the throes of nostalgia for at the moment, and often leaves the bridge in the middle of fleet combat to drink and remember a particularly memorable battle
>>
>>51570105
What's our Lord Admiral's preferred method of personal combat?
>>
>>51573959
That sounds pretty good. Fire it at the enemy out of our canons?

>>51574516
Looks pretty good.

>>51575730
Wrong

>>51577105
I don't think that the Lord Admiral would abandon his post just to get a sippie sip to assuage Vampiric ennui. Perhaps afterwards, in his quiet hours, but during the battle he would resolute in his duties. A proper naval admiral through and through, if not terse and brooding.

>>51577704
I would say he would be a fantastic duelist. There's a reason that no one, Vamp nor Xenos nor Astartes, challenges his claim to power. Beyond skill with the blade, he's a crack shot with the pistol.

Other than his martial prowess he should possess some eery psykic powers. Of what brand I'm not sure.
>>
>>51578164
>>51577105
>>51576993
And a harem

He definitely has a Harem in his personal chanber
>>
>>51578164
What I was going for was that he occasionally is overcome with bouts of Nostalgia and can't help but relive those moments when the feeling strikes him, almost like hallucinations or visions of past battles
>>
>>51578164
Alongside his more than ample martial abilities and horrid "gifts", the Lord Admiral is infamous for his captivating gaze, a stare with the intensity the likes of which few men have had to endure

It is said that this gaze is the Lord Admiral's test to his enemies, those that fall before it are not worthy of his personal attention and are given over to his retinue to be disposed of

Those with the will to withstand his gaze and meet it are worthy adversaries, and will engage the Lord Admiral in personal one-on-one combat

Those among the Lord Admiral's crew know the folly in disrupting their leader's duel, and will guard the preceding as they would any high-value objective from meddling enemies

None so far have been able to best the Lord Admiral in one-on-one combat, though few have come close

All combatants, regardless of their performance in the duel, are made a vintage to be sipped at and pondered at a later date

The count believes that in sampling the blood of these enemies, their worth can be evaluated. Whether this is true or not, only those that taste of the blood could know, and none such creatures would ever be permitted to take of the Lord Admiral's personal stock
>>
>>51578602
That he has visions of other places and times, sometimes outside of his understanding, I totally agree with. Him having a slightly sentimental side totally fits.

But I don't think I agree with him and leaving post in the middle of the battle.

>>51578742
This is great some other powers I think he should have

>Exploding into a swarm of bats/Furries. He can't really attack, and attacking him is difficult, but he can travel faster through difficult terrain.
>Hemomancy
>A battle rage that turns him into a hideous monster, diminishing his skill in battle but increasing his vitality and power
>Command over simple beasts
>Those who fail to meet his gaze can be compelled to fight for him, for a time

The enemy LotD army seems like chaos catachans to me.
>>
>>51530292
as soon as I read the description of this warband after it was all rolled I thought this was literally the sons of malice

the only difference is you rolled chaos undivided instead of "old noncanon anti-chaos" but even then, sons of malice actually do travel with daemons. it is stated that the sons of malice are seen fighting alongside the daemons of the big four, but often those daemons are in bondage somehow, for example blindfolded, one arm chained, etc.
>>
>>51582505
I honestly think Vampirates are more interesting than Sons of Malice /tg/ edition.
