Magic tapeworms.

They can be huge. They can run the full lenght of the bowels.

They use psychic powers to communicate with their hosts, trying to get them to do their bidding. They can't control minds but most hosts fear being butchered or locked up if they are found to be carriers - this is likely to happen as most tapeworms would rather blow themselves, their hosts and all nearby enemies than being removed.

They can cast illusion spells that come out as farts.

Hosts tend to become very skinny over time, almost Lich-like.

What is the lifecycle of a magic tapeworm? What does a magical tapeworm want in life?
For starters, it wants to find it's way into a healthy host, feed, grow and poop out eggs into a source of water where it's babies can themselves find their own ways into healthy hosts.

But mature tapeworms, once they develop mind-reading capabilities, can develop personalities by exposure to the sensations of their host. They tend to be more selfish than their hosts because they don't really need to empathise with their hosts specie. There's just not that much evolutionary pressure for them to be very pro-social. But being persuasive and able to cooperate comes in handy and they might even become ambitious enough to have to live the high-life vicariously through their host and try to get their babies inside important people.

These magical beasts resemble hairless anteaters, and their unusual diet makes them a nuisance to wizards and warlocks everywhere. Manaeaters feed upon sources of magic, and congregate near natural leylines in the wild, lapping up magic from the ground with their long, muscular tongues. Unfortunately, Manaeaters do not distingush between natural and manmade sources of magic, and will creep into urban areas in search of food. The low slung, nocturnal creatures are difficult to spot at night and entire groups have been known to sneak into alchemist workshops and ransack the place of magical ingredients. On rare occasions, a solitary manaeater will secret itself in a magic user's bedroom, emerging at night to sap the person's magical reserves before returning to its hiding place until the next night.
What of magical creatures? Like spirits or other things made of mystic stuff? Do manaeaters kill those?
Is this thread for general world building also or just monsters and related?

How is this not symbiosis? Tapeworm gets a host body, Host gets the benefit of their Tapeworm's magical abilities.

Can my character be another character's tumor? NO!? Man, actually playing this game must suck.

Manaeaters predate magical creatures which are sleeping or too slow to escape, but many elementals and magical spirits are evasive enough to flee before they are completely devoured. Manaeaters cannot lap up magic from other manaeaters, because their skin prevents devoured magical energy from escaping.
Felanec, known in some areas as "Serpent Cats" are a species of feline found in the humid forest of Tsalten. Felanec only emerge to hunt and pilfer at night, when prey is asleep and the harsh sun is elsewhere. These creatures are forced into their nocturnal habits by their hairless skin, which can dry out and sunburn in strong sunlight. Like many cats, Felanec primarily prey upon smaller animals such as birds, rodents, and lizards. However, they do not shy away from attacking animals up to twice their weight. Felanec are somewhat more durable than other cats of their size, and will grapple large victims to the ground. In addition to clawing and biting, these cats have the ability to spit fire in an uncontrolled burst from their mouths. However, because the Felanec risks drying out when using this ability, the cats mainly breathe fire when subduing difficult prey or facing a persistent predator. Felanec seem to have an instinctive love of gold and other valuables, and will hoard any loot they find in a favorite crevice or tunnel in their territory. While females generally keep their gold in an unceremonious pile, males arrange their gold in opulent displays similar to those made by bower-birds.

Here are a couple of monsters from a setting I'm helping build. They come from a tundra with 3 seasons, Thaw, Aurin and Longwinter.
Thaw and Aurin are alright but over Longwinter everything gets cold as fuck and all the demonic spirits come out.

Kamakapri- demons that possess the remains of fallen males of large hoofed mammals- bulls, bucks and stallions are common targets. The taken bodies are twisted, the face flattens and the jaws and teeth become more prominent, jutting out gauntly from beneath the corpse's head. Large yellow bulbs fill the eye sockets, and the limbs extend unevenly, wicked claws sprouting from their hooves. Kamakapri are bipedal, twisting the spine of their bodies to accomodate their new gait.
Kamakapri start the Longwinter as little more than the skeletons they possess, lying in wait immobile in the snow. Unwary travellers unlucky enough to walk too close to the possessed carrion are snatched up in an ambush attack, their flesh devoured and magically repurposed to build the Kamakapri's new body. Flesh, skin and hair return to the Kamakapri's twisted form, granting the demon renewed mobility, cunning and oppurtunity to hunt down more victims.
During Thaw and Aurin domesticated male ungulates are thrown into the lake, so that any Kamakapri that take their bodies in the Longwinter drown. If the animal dies during the Longwinter the site where they fall is marked so that others don't fall prey to the demon.
Come Thaw the great yellow eyes disappear along with their engorged black hearts, and the rest of the body melts into water as if it was a part of the snow all along.

Oryperti- Arms in the clouds, Oryperti are rarely fully seen and some believe them to defy conventional geography. Oryperti travel with the heavy Longwinter fogs, waiting to find a lost traveller- preferably alone.
The first sign of their presence is eyes. A pair of decidedly human eyes can be seen unnaturally distinctly in the fog, and sometimes a strong feeling of being watched follows. After that, thin black tentacles silently emerge from the fog when the traveller isn't looking and take things from them. It begins with small things such as matches, coins and tools and slowly graduates to larger objects like pans and even blankets. It will never take food, and shows a preference for shiny things.
Finally, if the traveller manages to escape the fog, they find everything that the Oryperti has taken from them wrapped in a patterned blanket made from a soft woven material considered a treasure from Bithuml. If the traveller spends too long in the fog however, they'll find their possessions left lying in the snow in an extended trail. To follow the trail is to be led to the Oryperti's "mouth"- of which few surviving accounts exist.
The most detailed account comes from one pilgrim Rip Ruwardi, who saw her comrade Piotr the Nameless "peeled apart by black fingers like a physician's diagram, blood separated piecemeal from brain, bone and flesh"
Piotr the Nameless was found wandering in the wilderness by rangers in a catatonic state come Thaw, unable to communicate by any means including telepathy- an all-too common fate of travellers lost during the Longwinter.

Some speak of a kind of Kobold that is far different then the ones you know.
These beings hide in the darkness of the underground and see by using magic.
Why do they need magic you ask?
They have no eyes.
To see a Drowbold must tear the eyes out of something else and use magic to see through it.
It is rumoured that they have three arms and spikes on their backs too!
Why would Kobolds go so deep underground?
Maybe loyalty to a dragon.
Maybe they were sent to find something.
Who knows...

Afrobo Bull: Colossal horned black beasts with a fierce temperament, Afrobo Bulls are feared but thankfully rare creatures during Thaw and Aurin. They stand between 2.5-3 metres tall at the shoulder and weigh as much as 4 tonnes, possessing flattened humanoid faces, sharp bony horns on the side of their head and ox-like bodies with muscular cloven legs.

Afrobo Bulls are solitary creatures, highly aggressive and territorial. Their diet consists mostly of grass, flowers, fruit and scavenged carrion, though they will hunt as ambush predators when Aurin draws to a close so as to build fat and muscle quickly.

The Bulls are natural hemaphrodites and during their mating season over Thaw, they will engage in fierce battles with one another that they do not always survive. Only in the case of a worthy fight where the winner is sufficiently tired will they mate and the loser is forced to bear children. It is these battles that are responsible for the myriad of deep scars that cover older Afrobo Bull’s bodies after many successful mating seasons.

Foals typically stay with the mother over Aurin who will abandon them come time for hibernation over Longwinter. The foals will stay together as a pack and search out their own cave in which to hibernate, settling down as a group. As they cannot build enough fat in time to last the Longwinter, the foals will enter a state of semi-hibernation, sleeping for long periods at a time and waking only to devour one another (typically the smallest, weakest or sick) and keep themselves going through Longwinter. Of a typical litter of 6 to 10 foals only 1 or 2 will emerge at Thaw.

These ghouls have been...modified by thier creator to have them excel at their purpose.
Be this as beasts of burden or as guard dogs they are taken apart and put together so that they shall not fail their purpose.
This ghoul seems to made to be a alarm, for if you note the ears, gaping mouth,dogs nose and lack of proper eyes it appears to listen or smell for intruders and then let out a deathly screech.
I have an island chain in my setting that houses these skinwalkers, and the closer you get to an anomaly the more they appear

contemplating having artifacts and going full stalker, even though its a fantasy world.

the islands they're on have like a gross vine that looks like their skin, and sometimes they hide in it

this promotes locals who try to live on the less-haunted islands to burn them, and they're also used in voodoo and shit beecause muh spoopy vine

Wispy looking, hand sized fish which "swim" through the air, gathering in small schools for protection from predators. Angelfish are omnivores which feed mainly on buds, leaves, and plant material, although they will feed on meat when available. Although possessing only animal intelligence, angelfish have an instinctive aggression towards evil beings, especially demons. When encountering an evil creature, angelfish release a pheromone which acts as a call for all of the angelfish in the area to mob the creature. Angelfish lay eggs in clusters of hundreds in the spring, and the summer is heralded by the hatching of thousands of finger length fry. Local fisherman often set out during this time of year with large butterfly nets in order to harvest the small fish. Angelfish are easily tamed, especially with offers of meat, and often kept as housepets.
