Chad Swordsmen Edition.Warmasters Triumvirate is an attempt at creating yet another 40k AU. The Primarchs have changed, and instead of appointing a single Warmaster upon returning to Terra, the Emperor is critically wounded on Ullanor. In order to make sure the Great Crusade continues, the Warmasters' Triumvirate is put in place. Tensions start running high and this eventually culminates in a civil war between Loyalists, Chaos Traitors and Separatists...Docs: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14hqd6RLLgvLdYCIoLCHhQkidgXIsKUzrugyWu6pthEMChapter Constructor: https://bitbucket.org/chaptergenerator/chaptergenerator/downloadsThread goals (updated):> Actually fill out the New Hope and Siege of Terra documents.>Get some busts done, Solomon in particular to finish loyalists. >someone PLEASE write up the three way duel between Warmasters.>do more writefagging of Brother War events/come up with cool battles

Now with a map of the Separatist Union!Red = Ussaran Federation / Brown = Hound's Regency / Drab green = Iron Worlds / Dark Blue = Phantom Zone / Green = Stallion's Realm / Cyan = Corsair Space
>>55624082>>55624106Off to a solid start.Excluded from the map is Steel Souls territory. From what we discussed in relation to them yesterday, I propose that they take up all the space between the states. They would serve as a web that holds the Union together, by being everpresent, providing proper communication lines.
>>55624341As for the Dragoons, I agree, they wouldn't spread themselves out too thin, but they would retain small systems in each legion subsector for political liason and logistical support
>>55625928Makes sense to me.I think the Phantoms have their watch fortresses.
Glorious soviet territory is glorious
>>55624106Do you have it in a higher resolution? As it is it's almost unreadable.
>>55626274Not right now. There's a higher rez version in the Discord, but phoneposting reduces the resolution considerably…
>>55625928Aye, I can see that. The Dragoons would like to keep control, and be most like a 'federal' legion. Then again, the Seps are all on good enough terms to allow entrance to the other legions.
>>55624341Yeah, the SS' territory could be the gaps between territories, that's what would work better.
Fulfilling Raj's wishes since M30
>>55626655needs thicker borderlines for clarity.
Ashur will be so pleased you didn't use his bust for the OP pic again. <.<
>>55627531I'll live, 'cause this meme is actually sorta funny to me while Torbjörn in a mankini is just a bit offensive to my occular senses.
>>55627610Also I don't think they have my hi-res bust, to they?
>>55627631We don't care. Added to the next OP list
>>55627219Aye. I'll try another program. Paint can only get ya so far…
>The Silver Blades at New HopeAfter waiting for hours until Aristide showed up, and the quick escalation of the conflict with Malcador's assassination and Solomon's rampage, Linares ran to his Legion, and gathered it for combat. The whole First Tercio was in the system, and the Third was lurking nearby, ready to deploy in case of emergency. Read: Battle. Linares mustered his troops, and prepared for the upcoming battle. The combined might of the Iron Guard and the Ussaran Liberators formed in front of his Legion. Roughly 31000 men against...many more. "Call in the Third Tercio. We're going to need them."The Comms Officer disappeared inside the Toro Bravo, bringing to life the Com-Links and sending the message to the Third Tercio's fleet throught the Argentean's Astropaths. The lines in front of them looked ready and eager to fight, but still...doubtful about the situation. If they wanted to fight, why they where still standing there? "Sir, the Armor Batallion is awaiting for orders." Interrupted a Staff Officer. "Tell them to send the First and Second companies to the right flank, and the Third to the center. Put the Fourth overlapping with the our left flank's comrades and the fifth in the rear, ready to deploy wherever would be needed."Malcador was dead. Possibly the only thing connecting the Primarchs to their Father was gone. The reports were a mess. None got anything right. People saying it was a Silver Blade. People saying it was a Dragoon. Seriously, how you mistake a Silver Blade with a Dragoon? The salt desert that was about to host the first battle of the war that would decide the future of Humanity was an inmense, never-ending landmass that spanned the whole planet. The temperatures high enough to make standing in the middle of anything highly uncomfortable. Good thing the power armors had several types of life support systems, temperature regulators included.
>>55628725Mirages diffused the ground, reflecting the lines of the Astartes standing in both sides of the battlefield. The silvery armor of the Legionnaires from the IVth Legion reflecting the light rays directly to their counterparts. The battlefield had little cover. The empty, nearly completely flat terrain that separated the two sides was a natural kill-zone, where everything trying to move would have to do so without any kind of cover. "Is going to be a hard advance. We don't have time to even dig trenches, so prepare to advance. We'll use the tanks for cover. Tell the Argentean to take position over us.""Sir, there's already a battle-barge over us""Then they'll have to blast their way toward us!"The Iron Guard chose to maintain postion, awaiting for the inminent charge, while the Liberators prepared to launch the first wave towards the silverish wall. First, the mortal militias, just after a rain of High Explosive shells. The Silver Blades had read enough about the Liberators to know that they were about to get shelled, so they started to advance, slowly at first, the troops that had transports available riding them. The advance was made without hesitation throught the empty wasteland. Squads taking cover behind the armored transports, hoping that they won't get blown out at the first openning salvo. Linares marched behind a Rhino that carried a squad of Ground Assault Marines, thinking to himself how long would those Ussaran shells be flying to them before hitting, while remembering the events of the day. And the good old times, when they were a family. A family that went against the family ideals, that never met as a whole in the same place. But a family. He will miss those...KABOOMThe loud, deaf sound of a shell striking right into the lines brought him back to reality. He looked at his right, a dust cloud towering over the Silver Blades, like 40 meters away. The severed limbs of his soldiers laying around in a macabre scene.
>>55629001After that one, another. And another. The sound of the wrath delivered by a whole battery of artillery pieces manned by experts, hammering the lines of the Silver Blades, taking away a handful of lifes with every shell. A round landed near Linares, but he remained unscathed. A Legionnaire was thrown against the Rhino that Linares was following by the explosion, but he got up again, joined his squad and continued."That's why we use Iron armor." Linares said to himself. As suddenly as it started, the artillery bombardment ceased. "Get ready for combat, men! Here they come!"The militias of the Liberators charging towards the Silver Blades, carrying lasguns that gently dented the Astartes' battle plate, charging without the proper equipment and trainning towards the Silver Blades lines. Someone cried "¡A SANGRE Y FUEGO!", and the Silver Blades opened fire on the cannon fodder. The bolt rounds hail hitted the militias without mercy, each shot tearing whole bodies apart, leaving the desert covered in red blood and limbs separated from their bodies. The few mortals that managed to get to the Silver Blades were quickly beaten in close combat. As they closed to the Liberators and Iron Guard lines, single sniper shots and laser beams started to hit the IVth Legion's lines. And still they advanced. No retreat. No surrender. The Third Tercio's fleet moved as fast as they could to reach orbit and drop the Marines remaining, a Leviathan's Host fleet blocking their path. At first, they remained silent. But when they were close enough, the Ist Legion openned fire, severely damaging both warships and transports, although the bulk of the Silver Blades' Third Tercio made it to orbit."Sir, the Leviathan's Host is attacking our vessels!""I'm receiving messages from the Titan Marchers, they have been engaged by Leviathan's Host and Soaring Host forces!"A gunfight started in the rear of the Iron Guard's defenses. The Leviathan's Host? What was happening?!
>>55629309"Neutral side of the family he said. Someone has to mediate he said!" mumbled Linares, refering to Marduk Engur. The Liberators had started their advance against the Silver Blades, overwhelming them with sheer numbers. The Silver Blades started their rush, with Rhinos, Predators and Vindicators giving all they could to reach the lines and start the carnage. The footslogging Tacticals remained behind, firing their boltguns against the Liberators. Although their fire was accurate, it wasn't as accurate as their enemy's. Even throught the hail of lascannon and melta shots, the transports made it to the Liberator's lines, unloading their lethal payload. Squads of Tactical Supports sprayed the Ussaran Astartes without mercy, while Assault Marines shoulderbashed them while charging, to cut, thrust and slice right after. The Liberators started to loose ground, and openly retreated in the sector where Linares joined the fray. Meanwhile, the Toro Bravo made its way to the front line. Dodging flaming wrecks, Apothecarii recovering Progenoid glands, and the eventual artillery shell crater. They had bad news. Really bad news. The Leviathan's Host managed to make the Iron Guards retreat. Somehow. They advanced with uncanny stoicism, supported by machines that wouldn't be possible and by twisted Marines, possessed by all kinds of daemons. The Third Tercio was in position, and started to deploy. The "Wave 0" touched ground, scattered around the place, in the Liberators and Guard's lines and in Leviathan's Host ground. Everyone aimed his boltgun to the openning doors, just to meet with surprise the hail of fire produced by missile launchers and assault cannons firing in all directions, decimating the lines, preparing the ground for the incoming Battle-Brothers that made planetfall shortly after. The First Tercio had suffered terrible casualties. The Third was about to suffer them. And Toro Bravo reached Linares.
>>55629530"SIR! WE HAVE BAD, TERRIBLE NEWS!""What happens, Officer? Calm yourself!""We have received an Astropathic message from Kadir, Sir! They are under attack by an Astartes Legion, they have slight clues of them being the Gunslingers, my Lord. They request help!""No...that's...Kadir, under attack by the Gunslingers!? Nice...great. The Second Tercio is nearby, send them!""Acknowledged, my Lord"And the officer dissappeared again into the Land Raider. The Master of the First Tercio closed in to Linares, and asked what was happening. Linares explained the situation. The forces of Marduk Engur pushed unrelentled, but started to suffer heavy casualties. Summoning a Daemonic host to cover the retreat, Marduk brought his men back to the ships and left the system. The forces of Arystide retreated too, trying to get away with as much soldiers as they could. With a heavily damaged force and a homeworld under attack, the Silver Blades, along the Sentinels and Titan Marchers, proceeded to pursue the retreating Warmaster, bringing the battle to another planet, another system.Another sector.Another SegmentumThe whole Galaxy. The Brotherwar started. "What a family reunion..."
>>55628725>>55629001>>55629309>>55629530>>55629762This is my little contribution to the Battle of New Hope. If anyhting needs to be changed, HMU.
>>55627610In our defense Einchurt photoshopped Raj's head over it and we giggled like schoolgirls.
>>55629792I'll give all this a proper read when I get home from work mate.
>>55629792I'll get you your feedback as soon as I wake up.
>>55628725>Seriously, how you mistake a Silver Blade with a Dragoon? This is grammatically wrong, as well as very informally written. *People* can be informal, but the narration should not. The rest of the story is pretty good.
>>55634173Is supposed to be one of Linares' thought. I should clarify it, yeah. And fix it grammatically
>>55628725>>55634173First bit seems perfectly alright. Awkward choice of words here and there, but nothing too distracting. And Emil is right. The narrator should have a constant and serious/neutral tone.>>55629001Same as the first bit; perfectly fine, if phrased awkwardly here and there.>>55629309>Iron ArmorNice, that's a cool little fliuffy bit.>>55629530>possessed by all kinds of daemonsThe narrator might be aware of this, but none of the characters we focus on do. Thusly, it's kind of weird to refer to them as actual daemons. Plus, I don't think the Host would bust out the daemons of New Hope just yet. At least not on the first day.>>55629762>Astropathic message from KadirThis is the only bit that really doesn't sit right with me. Astropathic messages are nowhere near that fast, it would take several days to send such a message at the very least, not to mention that Marduk would still have to send word to Deshain to begin the attack.Basically, all references to the attack on Kadir would be impossible.
>>55636038Got it. Maybe Marduk and Kane coordinated the attack beforehand, so they didn't needed to start messaging. >Astropathic CommunicationYeah, fine. I have a busy day today, so I'll change it whenever I can>Daemons Let's see what Mardy says>WordingIf you tell me how it would be correctly written I can change it
>>55636210I think it's better if I simply take a look at it after you've made the edits to it that you want. Also, let's get back to the Crusades guys. We've still got a buuuunch to plot out. Also, I hope Marduk can soon give us some insight into our Abaddon analogue.
>>55636515Who was taking part of the Crusade again?
>>55636802The 9th Iron Crusade? On the loyalist side, it'd be hard to say. A bunch of loyalist chapters from all progenitors, Guard regiments, Orders of Battle-Sister, etc. On the Separatist side, it could also be any number of groups, but Corsairs, Phantoms and Dragoons are inevitable. As for Chaos forces, the only ones we know of would be Forge Lords, but the main focus of this Crusade is Loyalist vs Separatist.
>>55636995Fine. Which Loyalists could be there? Death's Heads? Sentinels? (And/or sucessors obviously)
>>55638431Very hard to say. This is the 9th Iron Crusade, my expectation is that this takes place around M39 or something. That means that there would be loads of chapters, a number of which don't even know who their progenitor is. Plus, it takes place in the galactic north-west. Not sure what chapters are present there. At the moment, I've got five chapters of Titan Marcher origins that are a thing for sure. The Titan Marchers, the Moon Raiders, the Guardians Reforged, the Honorable Cyclones and the Diamond Smiths. The Marchers keep Manaan, and the Moon Raiders take up a world in the Imperial Ring. For the other three I don't have much, so if I were to locate them near the Imperial north, they could show up.
>>55639250The Sky Bringers (Sucessors from the 7th Founding) may be there, a couple of Companies at least. They are fleet based so location isn't a big problemBut as you said, the Blades are already way too involved
>>55636802More than likely at least one of the ten Steel Souls Chapters (Chapters remaining in the Legion sense of 10k Marines, not the post-Codex 1000) will be present for most if not all Crusades, since they're always roaming around Sep space. At least one if not more are very likely to be "within earshot" of any given major conflict.
>>55643045Nice. Steel Souls operating in Imperial Space, yay! They most probably will try to hoard some good psychic tech, right?
>>55643419Well, I hadn't really considered what they might have beyond the gene-locked psybernetics. I know they're instrumental in helping to invent the Psychic Hood, but they're not exactly armed with some sort of psychic arsenal. The Legion integrates itself with situational awareness born of the Warp and their mental links, they don't use Psy-Bolters or Psy-Lasers or whatever. I had considered such things, possibly using the canon Grey Knight stuff as a template/comparison reference since they're also a "Psychic Marine" group, but I was leery of powerlevel-concerns so I haven't yet.
>>55643472Like, it's plausible the Steel Souls might use those Psycannon weapons. They're certainly a Legion which fits the bill. But that also might be total bullshit and overpowered. I don't know for sure.
>>55644180Well, the GK are OP, but they have also some kind of Plot Armor around them that not even a Titan can break. While the Steel Souls could use with great efficiency those Psychic gadgets, they are not as OP as the GK because whem you kill one, the whole squad suffers. Kill him very hard and you may stun someone. They are still Astartes, psychic Astartes but Astartes at the end of the day. The GK are a different breed.
>>55644520Well, hopefully we'll get some more anons chiming in on the topic. I don't want to give the Steel Souls too much kit without a proper mandate, so to speak.
>Forge Lords of the Screaming VortexDespite the relative unity of the XX legion compared to its fellow traitor legions, the Forge Lords have many wayward sons scattered throughout the galaxy. Of note are the Forge Lords of the Screaming Vortex, who descend from the legion's vaunted 76th company. Where their brothers in the wider legion prostrate themselves to Hashut in a bargain for power, the 76th serve a different power entirely. Calling themselves the Keepers of the Way, they are heavily associated with a mysterious warp entity native to the vortex known as the Brass Door. Little is known about the Door, save that it promises safe travel through the warp - for an ever-changing price. It is said that the leader of the Keepers is a powerful sorcerer who is able to foresee what this price will be before he consults with the door, and he uses this knowledge frequently, for the Keepers of the Gate have been sighted as far from the Vortex as Armageddon.
>>55646086I think you're fine to give them stuff like Psycannons etc but on a balancing scale have them miss out on other more mundane / practical weapons like meltaguns or whatever.
>>55646560>the leader of the Keepers is a powerful sorcerer who is able to foresee what this price will be before he consults with the doorIf he's not called "The One Who Knocks" I'm going to be deeply disappointed in you btw.
>>55647220It'll be one of his titles.
>Chapter: Rune Claws>Parent LegionChosen of Hecate / Dusk Phantoms>Founding Chapter MasterCrispus Parthenios>HomeworldGoulburn>Flag ShipNosebi’s Bite>TacticsSmall, swiftly moving insertion units are favored over brute strength assaults. Jump infantry, scouts and landspeeders playing a heavy role. Though should the need arise for a heavy assault the chapter has the ability to perform such means. Fielding heavy tanks and weapons when needs be. Strong use of Librarians are still favored, a habit dating back to their days as Chosen of Hecate. Lightning claws being a favored weapon selection among the Chapter captains and squad leaders.>HistoryAfter disagreeing with Primarch Lambach Kropor’s plan to convert or attack his brothers on Miletus any dissidents were imprisoned in order to prevent them from interfering with the scheme. After Lambach’s failure and the ensuring route of the planet Captain Parthenios led his charges with a signifcant stock of gene-seed to the old transport carrier Cerastes, which once belonged to Tijo Nosebi the ex Ship Master of the Chosen flagship.Unable and unwilling to risk throwing themselves at the mercy of the Silver Blades fleet Tijo and Parthenios chose instead to head to Dusk Phantom territory in order to warn Gyhadread of the storm that was soon to come. After the Brotherwar Gyhadread chose to pardon those Chosen who had come aboard the Cerastes. Claiming them to be completely innocent of the crimes committed by their gene sire, in thanks for the warning they had bought the Primarch gifted them with a new flagship and the first world that was brought into the Separatist fold by the newly re-named Rune Claws was made their new homeworld.
>>55650517>Raven Guard in /w3/The livery is cool. Are you planning to have them doing amazing shit? Where woudl they be deployed, against Chaos or Loyalists?
>>55651275Mostly against Chaos and probably Xenos.
>>55650517Digging that scheme. Since they're on the Separatist side, does that mean they're more open about their heritage?
>>55651464Yes. It is not hidden that they are Chosen. Gyhadread pardons them and declares them Seps.
>>55651539Might be fun to have them engage the Iron Ancients at some point. They seem to be quite the opposites.
>>55651671It'd be a very bitter battle, indeed.
>>55651671For sure. They mostly fight against Chaos. Gaulburn is close to the eye.
>>55651778Perhaps they could clash during an earlier Black Crusade, let's just say the 5th: a campaign launched from the Maelstrom, by Mot Hadad himself, attempting to raid the Phantom Zone? I'm assuming the Claws are stationed there?
>>55646560How do these guys wage war exactly? Just like Forge Lords with a little bit more sorcery.
>>55653672 They bitchslap everyone with their dickery
>>55653672I imagine that they still have the proclivities of the Forge Lords: to overwhelm the enemy through sheer volume and power of fire. Though yes, it is certainly augmented through sorcery, much to the chagrin of the Imperials that inhabit the Calixis sector.
So, been busy, but got some ideas brewing up, alongside writing up the Pacha vs Isehko battle. Also, where does Catachan stand, since it's about in the western part of the Ultima Segmentum?
I've been quite a bit busy, so I apologise for not posting frequently.I do have a bit of an issue figuring out where to take the Death's Heads after Einchurt figgidy figgidy fucks off, from a larger narrative PoV
>>55658289Catachan is in Imperial space, so in that sense, I don't think it has any particular reason to change. So if you've got ideas for them, you could go for it.>>55658338Have you established on a solid ending for Einchurt, then? Beyond him just running away?
