If you are looking for a game, Whether as a player or as a GM looking for players, reply to this post. I know we've had a good amount of people looking for games, so i wanna help them out.

There's also the discord Which i'll put in the opening post going forward. Its not technically made by us, but it should help to organize something.

So a while back i did a poll one what people thought would be their favorite styles.

Legacy user won by a margin of one vote, followed by dragon carrier and Digital sorceror.

So I wonder, now that its been a month or so, Has your opinion on this changed? Has something you've seen or done changed it? Share the story if so.

>>
Is there a way to inflict shift:fallen on enemies At range
>>
>>56354194
none that i'm aware of at this exact moment.

The best i can think of is the combination of dark hunter A talents that lets you go in, inflict shift fallen, and move out all in one fell swoop.

Shadow breach and shadow Freerun is the combination. It allows you to go in and forcibly inflict Shift:Fallen, and since this doesn't take the prep timing due to freerun, you can move back out. If you throw shadowrun proficiency in, you can make a full move and still make a ranged or magic attack.

I know it isn't what you are looking for, but its the best i got off the top of my head.
>>
How would you guys make a Stand User in this system?
>>
>>56355161
That ones a bit tough. What one of my friends did was use the Cursed Doll ranged weapon as a sorta pseudo stand, But thats about the best i've got.

I think Legion usually uses the range of the weapon in use so you could maybe mix the two together to get a somewhat competent star platinum type stand. For all the special effects and abilities, you'd need to consider different styles. ZA WARUDO would be time wizard A, as an example.

I dunno if there's anything else like the cursed doll throughout the expansions though. you may wanna look into them.
>>
>>56355161

There are a bunch of ways to go about it. But if you're looking for a Star Platinum/The World-style punchghost a Divine Talker A/Time Wizard B with a Familiar as their weapon could do the trick. The divine talker gives you self-buffing/increased magical damage through an oraoraora battlecry, and time wizard allows you to freeze time and manipulate initiatives.
>>
>>56355327
This is also pretty accurate. I'm not terribly familiar with the expansions weapons so familiars might be a good alternative to the cursed doll.

How else would you design an interesting fight?
>On top of moving vehicles on the highway
>On top of a building during a storm
>In a burning building that's falling apart
>>
>>56362628
So, i just came by this thread and am currently reading the rulebook.
But if i am not wrong, wouldn't the"on top of moving veichles" be kinda moot if you're inside a Divine barrier (i think they were called that, do correct me if wrong)?
>>
>>56362697
nvm, just looked, called Spirit barrier.
>>
>>56362697
Spirit barrier, and not necessarily. Innocents can function in spirit barriers given the correct circumstance, and a godhunter may be driving said vehicle.

If you need to get something dangerous from Point A to point B, the best way to do it is in a moving pocket dimension.

>>56362628
Take a page outta No more heroes 2's book and have a boss that creates earthquakes that make randomized obstacles.
>>
>>56362760
I'd like to preface what i am about to say with that i am not trying to be a party pooper, but just trying to understand the system.
While ending the barrier does not seem to reset you to your starting position (which seems like it can be abused for teleporting against the poor innocents), it does seem to have a max radius of 500m, can't do too much chasing in that distance.
Is there something i am missing since you seem to infer being able to travel a long distance inside the pocket?
>>
>>56362967
A barrier is centered on the person creating it. If the person creating it is moving, then so does the barrier.
>>
>>56363018
Might be a mistranslation, but the PDF says that: "Spirit Barriers are erected in a variety of forms, based on the creator’s Spirit Crest. For instance, if an Awakened wanted to capture and isolate someone, they would need just erect their barrier in a sphere with themselves as the center."
This seems to imply there's other ways to set up a barrier than centered on the one creating it.
I can't find anywhere they say that the barrier will always be centered on the one creating it when moving, rather, to me it seems like it's supposed to be stationary when going of this: "Put simply, a Spirit Barrier is a technique or natural ability, wherein the user’s spirit barrier becomes a camera that photographs a space, places the user inside of that “photograph, and then allows them to act within it."
They also mention that corpses and spirit bodies will be preserved and brought to the place used as a basis for the Spirit Barrier.
>>
>>56363018
>>56363265
Ofcourse i am not trying to say you're having badwrongfun, you do you, just trying to figure out if there's some line i missed somewhere.
>>
>>56363265
>>56363287
Oh i know. And thats fine. the translation is wonky in places.

That said, the default spirit barrier form is generally centered on the person creating it. We see this through the hammerspace that people use for their inventory. They can of course alter the spirit barrier pretty much at will. The exception to this is if someone with a stronger shard comes around, then their spirit barrier takes precedence, Which is why it can be used to capture things.

Still, the idea of having a car chase or a fight on a moving vehicle works under five separate assumptions.
>The enemy has the strongest spirit barrier and keeps it centered on themselves
>The enemy somehow ignores spirit barriers and forces a fight in the regular world
>The godhunters keep it around themselves while moving to prevent innocents from being harmed by anything that happens
>The enemies spirit barrier in some way messes with your senses, making you want to race or capture them
>you are fighting on a train for some reason

There's a lot of situations in which you can justify it. More so because the fluff is very bendable.
>>
>>56363400
First, it'd like to say this seems like it could be abused for quote on quote "teleporting", which i am not sure i like.
I'd argue that a Spirit barrier would need to be stationary after being set up.
Does it mention anywhere that it stays on the one who created it (or currently control it) after creation?

Also on a seperate, topic, i wondered this when i read it, but it does not seem very usefull for "capturing" anything as a godhunter, from the rules the Amaritama should be able to take control and then close the barrier, no?
>>
>>56363548
>First, it'd like to say this seems like it could be abused for quote on quote "teleporting", which i am not sure i like.

To be fair, if a spirit barrier moves, you can just say that it would drop you where you are at the end of it, rather than where you started with it. Also, there are methods of teleportation anyways, so its sorta moot. Heck, scion gets one straight up with Scions advent.

So far as where it says it, most of it can be assumed from the latent traits section which says
>Unique Effect. When you gain «Spirit Barrier», your [Stored] and [Equipped] [Items] and [Gold] can be kept continually hidden. Also, when you declare «Spirit Barrier», or when you are declared as a target of another «Spirit Barrier», your [Stored] [Items] can be freely [Equipped]

And in the Terms part of the world section
>Spirit Barrier - A characteristic ability of <Awakened> that creates and then transitions them
into a mirror world that is separated from time. This can be deployed and controlled on a small
scale, allowing the storage and concealment of Fool’s Gold and items within.

So since this storage follows you, your spirit barrier is almost always active and following you. Uses of it outside of making a barrier and using it for an inventory are more niche, but nothing says they are impossible. Mononoke as an example fuse their spirit barriers with leylines, and create sanctified places.
>>
>>56363548
>from the rules the Amaritama should be able to take control and then close the barrier, no?

Most aramitama aren't smart enough for this and the ones that are are hell bent on destruction anyways. there's no reason for them to capture anyone.
>>
>>56363744
eh, i could argue that it's different since you're not INSIDE the barrier itself, but that's starting to sound pedantic.
Guess i'll take it as one of those "go with the flow" things of the system.

But on the point that the scions can get an early teleport as an ability is a bit irrelevant in my mind.
I am not against the idea of teleporting at low levels, i am against the fact that i seems like something a smart (or asshole, depending on how you see it) player would try and get the most out of, for no cost.
Admittedly, the point of a game is for everyone to have fun, so hopefully noone would try that, but eh, leaves a wierd taste in my mouth.

>>56363768
To my understanding some Amaritama could be quite smart though.
I could easily see a smart Amaritama keep on taking control of the barrier, break it, and then start running to hell and back when the fight ain't worth it.
Sure, not all of them might, but some would, and i were i hoping for a clarification.
>>
>>56363984
So far as the barriers for capture go, they can. Most won't, but they can. Assuming theirs is strong enough anyways.

Still, the "Teleporting" thing is easily rectified by just saying wherever they stop is where they are. No teleporting back to the beginning, you are where you are.
>>
>>56364081
Well, back to the beginning would SOLVE the teleportation, I don't think you can take stuff with you from inside the barrier, since it's a copy, otherwise you'd be able to create stuff from nothing.

While i really like alot of the fluff from this system and what it facilitates, it seems like you need a big spoonfull of "don't think about it" to play this proper.

heh, you can even use the Spiritual barrier to cheat on tests if you're playing a guy still in school.

Either way, i am rambling at this point, feel free to stop answering me at this, and thanks for some of the insight.
>>
>>56364258
wait wait wait. What do you mean back to the beginning solves the teleportation issue? What?

Also, you can bring whatever you want into a spirit barrier. So a car would be okay, as an example. Contractors bring in motorcycles and shit.
>>
>>56364311
I mean that if everyone starts inside the barrier at point A, then during combat, the fight moves a few hundred meters, now everyone is somewhere else, let's call this point B.
Now, there's 2 different outcomes:
1. When the barrier ends everyone stand at point B in the real world, this due to time standing pretty much still, would result in something akin to a teleport.
or 2. when the barrier ends everyone are now back to point A, meaning that no movement has found place and no distance has been traveled
No. 2 is what makes the most sense to me, as it would stop any wierd "teleporting"

Also, i am not concerned with what they take in, but when they create the barrier, they make a "copy" of everything around them to make up the inside of the barrier, no?
All i am saying is i assume they can't bring out, let's say, a camera on some desk, and now be the proud owner of a new (copied) camera.
>>
>>56364429
For the first thing, while i agree they will move in next to no time in the real world, they still need to walk from point A to Point B. I wouldn't really consider that teleporting, and almost everything in the standard episode happens in a spirit barrier of some sort anyways. Thats one of those things where thinking about it too hard just takes the fun out of it. Plus, there's next to no ramifications for it anyways, so worrying about it is sorta pointless.

So far as grabbing something in a spirit barrier, you'd be more or less correct. You cannot take anything that doesn't actually exist out of a spirit barrier, to my knowledge. If you can, it probably came from the regular world.
>>
>>56364509
Rather, the longer you stay in a spirit barrier, the worse its effects are on you. Even staying in for an hour ages a godhunter by a decade, even if temporarily.

So there are ramifications for abusing spirit barriers.
>>
>>56364509
Hence my comment earlier about the big spoonfull of "don't think about it".

Although while not techniqually, it is effectively teleporting when used against innocents.

When i play i'll prob go with the "you go back to point A" simply because if they're hanging with some innocents and a Amaritama opens a barrier, they don't have to explain how they suddenly dissappeared once the fight was over.
To me it seems like it solves a lot of potential issues with only a few downsides.

>>56364621
While i get that, short distance teleporting can also have some pretty neat advantages, and if during play i were interacting with some innocents, i could think of a few ways to abuse it.
Not that i'd do it, but you know.
>>
>>56364695

Guess again fucko!

For anyone keeping track I haven't been posting in the last couple of threads due to real life crap, story-time catching up to where the actual campaign is happening and because of who I am as a person. Doesn't mean I haven't been lurking though and I saw people talking about me using a trip-code to help organize stuff for the future, so fuck it why not? In an effort to make up for not posting, I'm doing a double feature this thread with episodes 5 and 6, since 6 is foreshadowed pretty hard in the opening scene. As always I'll be spacing stuff out in an effort to not clog the thread with my personal bullshit and to allow reactions, questions and complaints. So, without further ado:

We begin with another small scene in the midst of our villain's lair. Travis Dustin (pic related), the cowboy from episode two enters into the main darkened throne room where our mysterious big bad sits, still shrouded in shadow. The scene plays out shortly with the voice in the darkness marking how quickly the PC's are growing in power and tells Travis that it is time to make themselves a priority in the minds of the Guardians. Travis asks if he is being instructed to kill the guardians, he appears quite nervous in talking to the voice on the throne. The voice tells Travis to, “Simply do, what you always remembered doing.” and the scene ends.

We rejoin our PC's back in the real world where they've sat down for class. They're teacher, Sensei Shedo calls the class to attention and gives two announcements. Firstly, as it is the start of the second week of school, today is a day for clubs. Various after school activities and clubs will be available to sign up for after classes and the students should attempt to seek out something to join or officially sign up for something they've already decided on. The second announcement is that their School, Manzanar high, is getting a new teacher, one the students will be seeing regularly.

dude. just write it up in chunks in a word or text doc so you can post the first few sections in a chain of posts.

also you can have more than one storytime going at once in a thread.

Dude please. I need to know every group of character is a bunch of overpowered dicks who never really have trouble getting the dice they need and tend to steamroll everything I put in front of them. Seriously though, as someone who is running the game, I'm super curious to see how it runs and operates outside my group. Please.

Cue the entrance of pic related. A young woman in a short pink dress, flower in her hair and lots of make up on her face. She enters giving the class a cute “Hai, Hai,” for a hello. Just every stereo type you could imagine for the young new teacher who is 'so kawaii' or some shit. She introduces herself, much to the great confusion of the PC's as, Miss Merrei Vieux. The same name as the mage in Haxia they visited in the last episode. The PC's silently wonder to each other if this is the same person, and, as if an all knowing third party with a flair for dramatic timing was in control of this entire scenario, she pulls a small cat with an eye patch out of her large purse and tells the class that his name is Dritto. The same name as Merrei's Cat-like Darkstalker butler. Dritto even speaks aloud bemoaning the situation, but no other classmates react oddly. After a few moments of general stuttering, wanting to feed the cat treats and ' new character introduction' Miss Merrei says she would like to speak to the PC's after school before they go to the clubs outside. She uses the excuse of them cleaning the gym as a reason to pull only those 5, and one time skip later the group sits alone in front of their new teacher.

>>

Merrei's first act is to burst into laughter mocking the PC's for their confused faces at hearing the name. Merrei confirms that she is indeed the same Merrei they know and he has has come across the gate to teach them of the things they can now do in their realm, mainly the superpowers they gained in episode 3. Merrei then delves into each PC's superpower, acting as a sort of guide in order for me to somewhat explain the things they can do and how they work. Ryuko, who seemed to move things by singing, more accurately causes things to vibrate when she sings but she's got pretty go control over it already. Merrei assigns her to fill a glove with water, tie it off and then make it dance a routine. Once she can do so, she should have enough control to move things without risk of damaging them. Rei, who seems to be able to alter a matter's density is told to freeze water which is easy for him, but is then shown that the ice is not cold. He can somehow alter an objects density without effecting its temperature (because anime physics is why shut up). Hayate learns that he can turn things back into a previous state. Making a broken pencil fix itself, or making it break again in the exact same manner. He cannot however, undo anything Rei alters. He also can't simply cause an object to move back into place if there's nothing wrong with it. Ruth learns that she can cause anything to spin on an axis. The object will continue to spin ever if she stops concentrating on it or puts a small amount of force against the spinning. She is assigned to buy an action figure and make it walk and move by moving the joints with her ability. Su is passed on for now, as she makes things grow and the group is currently inside a building. Merrei tells the PC's to get to out to clubs and they'll reconvene outside the gym afterwards. With that, the group moves outside and begins to look at/for clubs.

Well here goes nothing. I've been running Kamigakari every sunday for what seems like a few months now. I think we're nearing the end of the campaign as my players are about to more or less Reverse-Isekai themselves to the final boss's world so I thought I might want to tell the story now before it's actual conclusion.

Now let me say something first, everyone in my playing group knows what they're in for and they are all giving it 100% in the anime department, that includes proper honorifics, slice of life and shounen tropes. So this game is pretty darn weeby, but i'll be damned if it doesn't give me that feeling of actually watching an anime of our creation. Also a side note: This is a world of our own creation, we have taken bits and pieces from the sourcebook but most of it is off our backs so please excuse it if the game isn't 100% accurate to the books. One more thing, I think most of my players might show up and read these threads every so often so for the sake of the characters i'm not going to spoil things that haven't come up

Our story is set in Osaka (mainly because it's not Tokyo). Unexplained supernatural phenomenon is taking place all over the city, people are going missing, temples defaced, bodies floating down the Dotonbori river. For whatever reason, the link between the the world of the Arimitama and Humans is growing thinner and thinner in Osaka.

We have our would be Heroes ready to fight against the evil that comes and strikes in the night. Our first is Ito Daiichi (Literally Ito Number one). Foul-mouthed, alcoholic, orange haired delinquent who goes around swinging a wooden sword trying to show everyone just how big and badass he can really be. He is also stupid. Like, reaaaly stupid. So stupid he makes Okuyasu from DiU look practically like a scholar. [ARC SLAYER A / DRAGON CARRIER A / SCION]

Next up is Shirai Akira. Akira is a strange one. Akira isn't entirely human but some kind of shapeshifter. His family hails from somewhere in the middle east and acted as protectors of some ancient power, they screwed up so badly they had to flee to Japan where they have assimilated into the culture. Akira is more or less whatever his family wants him to be at any given time, which has created some kind of intentity crisis for him as he does not have a true form people can see and just wants people to accept him for who he is. He is actually pretty much playing two character that are the same person, a boy and a girl, both are the same character but their personalities and mannerisms are very different, they also share the same name and act like nothing is any different. Naturally, Ito believes these are two different people. [LEGION A / DARK HUNTER A / HANYOU]

Having been demonized for being well, succubi, they fled to Japan during the ancient times of japanese history. The Onigata family formed some kind of bond with the spirits of the japanese land namely Kitsune and grew strong and powerful. The Onigata family in todays times are barons of the red light district and Onigata Futaba is the heiress to the cities biggest and most prestigious love hotel. She balances her life as a smut heiress with being a devil themed Idol Singer. She goes into to battle acompanied by her shapeshifting Mononoke partner Taro for love and profit. Fourth is Mitsuki Shizune. Her story is a very sad one. She comes from a very wealthy powerful line of mages with an impressive and strong liniege. She was the rich and beautiful ojou-sama back in her home of Tokyo. Read "Was". Her mother and father lost the entire family fortune. How you might ask? Were they under a great curse, did they wrong a powerful Wizard, did they UNLEASH AN UNSPEAKABLE EVIL. No. They were luddites who lost control and gambled everything away, which really goes to show you, anyone can fall from grace for the stupidest and selfish of reasons. For this ascociation directly with her parents, the remaining branch of her family cast her out for having more or less a direct 1-2-1 direct relation to the ones who had lost everything. She now lives in Osaka, in a small crappy apartment, wearing baggy clothes, short hair and glasses, basically being the poorest gal this side of the dotonbori river. She works nightshifts at the local combini. [ELDER MAGE A / GOD HAND B / MAGUS]

Finally we have Jagasaki. Jagasaki is probably the oddest one of the entire group. He is a Divine Soul. A demonic sword spirit who has a legacy of being terribly wicked and powerful. He is more or less early Piccalo from Dragon Ball. He relishes in the oppertunity to fight and prove himself the worlds strongest demon, he is also hundreds of years old. Now you might be asking. "How in the world does this demon sword spirit fit with the party". I'll answer that. Jagasaki is the ONE RELIC that the Mitsuki family didn't lose, he is honour bound to protect Shizune. So he shares an appartment with her, a tiny apartment. Did I mention he is also a huge glutton who loves ice cream and constantly financially drains Shizune for tasty treats [ELEMENTAL ADEPT A / DIVINE TALKER A]

>>56385950
All of our characters are high school students (yes even the drunkard). They all of course attent the same high-school: Nantoka High, or Nanto High for short. The name itself is written in japanese as "south dipper merchant high school" (Nanto kamono koko), people call it (Nantoka mono koko). This changes the meaning to literally "something something high school". As you can see, we have gone above and beyond in our weebiness by using actual japanese puns. Also, Nanto high is an exceptionally shitty and poor school, there is no real dress code, classes are mishmashed and teachers teach different classes at the same time, the light music club has one guitar and generally things are pretty shoddy.

Our story begins in this such high school. Shizune is standing around her locker minding her own business when she is approached by a gang. This gang was made up of three individuals: Delinquent A, Delinquent B and Delinquent C. The three ruffians approach our hero questioning her about supposed sightings of a ghost. Shizune KNOWS what they're on about but stays hush, to the point where they nickname her the "ghost glasses girl" (this name sticks). They don't let up and in comes Jagasaki and he pops in out of nowhere to scare the shit out of them and our delinquent trio runs away. Jagasaki only did that because being at this highschool is dreadfully boring for him and Shizune has to put up with this arrogant ghost and his lust for ice cream
>>
>>56385970
Elsewhere later on we encounter our other hero. Delinquent Drunkard Extrodinaire Ito Daiichi making his way home from making a flawless booze purchase with his fake I.D. He is very much a happy chappy but he gets stopped by a shady looking individual, a shady Yakuza looking individual.

Now I am going to cut in here, now I should go into detail exactly HOW i've been running this game because this is more or less an unintended reccuring gag. What I do is present the game in the style of a visual novel, I take artwork and cut it out with transparent backgrounds and overlay it on backgrounds hiding all but the image in a fog of war to get that Visual Novel feel, I can even puppet the pictures around to simulate movement or surprise which is fun. Now that being said, I go through a LOT of art in this game, and a lot of the time I don't pay attention to the source material. For this particular Yakuza enforcer, I chose this clearly innocent picture. This picture happened to be Kiritsugu Emiya from Fate/Zero. I had only recently watched the entire series to get me up to speed on the fate universe for a game I was playing at the time. I did not realise myself where the art I stole was from, despite watching the VERY SAME SERIES like almost a week apart. This has now gotten the unintended side effect of "lets guess where the GM stole art from"

The Yakuza stops our hero looking for directions. He is swiftly and surely blanked without mercy. Eventually the yakuza butters him up with a bribe of 1000 Yen, all he wants to know are directions to the "Onigata Love Hotel". 1000 Yen? For directions? What a sucker! Ito gives the man directions and takes his money. The Yakuza remarks that he recognises Ito (Ito is one of three people in Osaka with Orange hair) and remarks that he knew his father. Ito blanks him. This never comes up again.
>>
>>56385991

We go back to Shizune and Jagasaki. It's late night, Shizune has to babysit this demon spirit and pacify him with dairy. Shizune is a girl who looks much too tired for her age, her levels of doneness never actually drop at any point, in fact she only gets MORE done as the story goes on. This is where Mitsuki meets Akira (F). Akira had just been patrolling the neighborhood, fighting petty crime when she came across her senpai Shizune and like any good Kohai she waved at her and chatted friendly and politely. It is at this point she introduces herself as Shirai Akira. Mitsuki knows Akira, she knows him as a boy in class 2-C, this is a girl, who is calling herself by the same name as him, and describing things only he could possibly know. Shizune looks Akira up and down and her thoughts are "So, this is his hobby?"

The two end up meeting Onigata Futaba, she was hard at work putting up signs across the neighborhood advertising postings at new Onigata branches, host clubs, maid cafes and most importantly love hotels. The three get to talking, all of them of course going to the same school. Futaba was mostly going to Nanto high as a publicity stunt, get the people really talking. It is at this point that Ito shows up, now Ito and Shizune hate eachother. He calls her "little miss poverty" and generally acts like an asshole, y'know like a delinquent. I am just going to pull up an exerpt from the game itself for this one:
>>
>>56386030
Ito Daiichi looks slyly at Mitsuki. "Yeah you have a date with a spoon and that bucket of ice cream, don't you? Mind you don't get fat, you can't afford an eating habit."
Mitsuki Shizune 's eye twitches, but tanks the provocation if only because things got a little too awkward
Shirai Akira [F]: "Hey! The hell do you think you're saying, you jackass?" Akira said, turning her head to shoot Ito an angry glare. "That's not how you're supposed to treat a lady!"
Onigata Futaba: "What was your name, delinquent?" Futaba glared down at him, a little more than anger in her eyes.
Ito Daiichi: "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize there was a lady under that pile of rags"
Ito Daiichi turns to the pair of breasts, and by extension the lady behind them. "Oh, you don't know me? I'm a big deal in these parts, you should. I'm Ito Daiichi, and this is my gang's territory."
Mitsuki Shizune : "AND HE GETS HIS ASS BEAT BY GIRLS!" she adds, in vengeance

Things start getting awkward as Akira mistakes Ito for Shizune's boyfriend, Shizune is just about to bail out of this when Futaba gets a phone call. The hotel is being attacked by *GASP* yakuza! Of all people! This particular branch goes by the name "The Okada Syndicate"

Futaba calls up the family limo and Akira pulls along Shizune against her will and by proxy Jagasaki. This is where they meet Taro, Futaba's shapeshifting kitsune mononoke (she is playing contractor B but rather than summoning mononoke, Taro just shifts forms) and he plays a prank by appearing in a puff of smoke INSIDE the limo to the surprise of everyone but Futaba. Ito does not get inside the limo but follows on his motor cycle.
>>
>there are stories in the thread
>I'm too drunk to understand them
...fuck
>>
>>56386042
At the hotel, the Onigata matriarch Onigata Seika is being accosted by the same Yakuza that had asked for direction from Ito before. This man's name was Tetsuya Komori and he meant business. Akira, Futaba, Shizune and Jagasaki arrive just in time to see this man and his retinue of like twenty yakuza mooks occupying the place. Clearly Tetsuya is not willing to budge. The party reveals their supernatural abilities and Ito with no regards for public safety crashes through the hotel on his motorcycle ready for a fight, wooden sword in hand.

Tetsuya looks at the group, he reveals his belt under his jacket and says one word: "Henshin".
>>
>>56386054
And thats why i screencap them.
>>
File: Tetsuya henshin.png (361 KB, 600x872)

>>56386055
His body is a swirl of black anime energy and darkness and he turns into a henshin hero- no. A Henshin Villain! It was time to do battle! Now this was the first time we had ran combat in the game so things were a little shaky but overally I think it turned out to be a success, they would shoot and attack Tetsuya but his mooks would jump in the way or rather he would force them into the way, using their bodies as meat shields.

Eventually the group beats back his body shields leaving him wide open for attack. Tetsuya just gets HAMMERED with damage from all sides, I even buff up his HP a little to keep him alive but it just isn't enough, I clearly underestimated the parties firepower. Tetsuya is dealt a finishing blow by Ito's secret wooden sword technique shooting him straight into the air leaving a dent in the roof of the love hotel! His last words: "No... The Gods they said.. Skullomania would run wild". Throughout the fight, Tetsuya sort of degraded into a jobber, so my first "threatning and serious" enemy was quickly beaten down, with art taken from one of the most recognised "heroes" of anime in the 2000's

The Yakuza were beaten. Shizune had been using her magic to do odd jobs for the Demon Hunters Society so she rang them up for them to do clean up on the bodies and to recover any magical artifacts. On the phone she speaks to agent Goezome Hibana who's first reaction is "Wait? You mean you took down Skullomania!" She sends out a dispatch and the party is brought together by the discovery that they are all in some way super powered.

So that was session one, boy that was a long one and there is a lot more where that comes from.

I'll admit I'm a little jealous. Only one of my players goes really all out with the weeb shit, including honorifics, and exaggerated reactions. Sounds like you got a good group for this game.
>I clearly underestimated the parties firepower.
The first time my party fought an actual character as opposed to regular mononoke he didn't even get a turn in before going down. Glad to know it wasn't just me.
>>
>>56386355
At this point the party is pretty powerful and I have to throw progressively bigger and more challenging things at them, even if something goes down in a single round, i'm happy because the players are enjoying the game
>>
>>56384354
The PC's head outside and are met with a cavalcade of characters, each of them splitting apart to head to their respective clubs. I'll admit, I didn't see all 5 of my players all splitting apart and away from each other so the club section had to be cut a bit. NPC's were introduced but none of them are important to the story yet. This section of my game was mostly to help my players get in the minds of their characters, see what kinds of activities they would want to do and flesh out the school so it feels like there's more than just their class and like 3 teachers. I'll admit as a GM one of my personal areas that I feel like I lack in, is making a world feel real, alive and fleshed out so I'm trying to work on that.

Each encounter can be summed up thusly. Hayate used to be in the kendo club and then left for reasons unknown to all but him. They are still asking for him as he was quite skilled and due to a budget rivalry with the school's up and coming softball club.
Ruth is 'accidentally' bullying the automotive club. She wants to join but due to the character quirks she has, (big, scary, doesn't communicate well) she comes off as a bully who keeps taking their money.
Rei is a member of the Volunteer Committee. Their current president is looking for a huge project to do as he wants something impressive on his resume when he starts applying for colleges.
Su, works for the school newspaper, which is turning more and more into a tabloid as time goes on. Su is not happy about the situation.
Ryuko checks out a couple different clubs but as she's the new student she doesn't get any real gossip or foreshadowing for her.
>>
>>56386393
That's all that's important in my book. Out of curiosity, you said you were approaching the end of your game. What level are your players at this point and did you start at level one?
>>
>>56386448
Started at level one, right now they just hit 8, I am thinking about ending it around level 10-12 or so give or take how things go

Also I think I'm going to post session two up in a bit because I have nothing better to do
>>
>>56386480
Haven't made it that far yet. My players are close to hitting 5 right now. Any tips or warnings for higher level play?
>>

Temper your rewards. I have had complaints and concern from players about the sheer amount of rewards they've been getting in the form of materials and fools gold, it's very easy for character to get way powerful fast if they have access to that big pool of gold and materials.

Now that's my advice to you, I however am going to keep showering my players in mats and gold because it's starting to look like a super high power game and i'd rather go balls to the wall, but i'd recommend pacing it out for yourself.

Well here i'll take a picture of my set up. Now if you've every played a Visual Novel like say Fate or Tsukuhime or something like that. You have the background image and the sprites of the characters in the scene layered on top of that background image

What I do is I take a map in Roll20 and make it really big and make the background black. I enable fog of war, in the map layer I take a background image, take for example one of the combini's I used. I paste that onto the black background and use the "Reveal" tool to remove the fog around the image.

Then on the Tokens layer, I paste in images of the characters on top of that background. For reference take a look at this.

This is a screen shot of an older scene from the players perpective

To be fair, i do try to help by putting that discord up and having people say they are looking for a game.

Its on the GM's in the thread to actually reply to that though.

>Futaba was mostly going to Nanto high as a publicity stunt, get the people really talking.

How does this particular publicity stunt go about generating publicity?

Is that something that had an explanation or was it a handwave?

>Futaba calls up the family limo and Akira pulls along Shizune against her will and by proxy Jagasaki.

Does Akira have reason to drag others into helping Futaba? Like do they have a business relationship or friendship close enough for Akira to just drag other friends in without thinking when Futaba needs help?

I honestly think that discord link doesn't help. Seems like people there aren't interested in Kamigakari one bit.
>>
>>56386817
To be fair, i never expected them to be.

However, if a GM in thread wants to start up a game, it could be an effective tool to get people together and coordinated until they fuck off to their own discord to play in.

Think of it like meeting at a cafe for a session 0 or something.
>>
>>56386810
To answer both questions. Futaba is a famous Idol, so her going to a shitty highschool is going to generate a lot of media buzz "Why is this pop star going to such a run down establishment" gets people talking and interested because it's so bizzare

And Akira jumped into the limo to help Futaba because she's kind of a hero, y'know beating up badies, saving kittens from trees. So she drags her classmate along, mostly so that she can impress her senpai

After these events, our heroes gather at the gym to see Merrei again as he told them that's where he would be. He begins to help Su test out her plant growth powers as he reminds everyone else they still need guardian names. Merrei helps Su learn that her plant growth power does not allow her to control how plants grow and she cannot kill anything with her power. She does have good control, enough to make a plant grow to a certain height so long as it is within reason for that plant and her range is at least several dozen meters. Merrei's lesson to Su is just use her power more as Su has been trying to hold in and keep her powers at bay since she received them.

At that, as is by dramatic timing, all the PC's hear Lord Sarrum's voice. (The king of the town on the other side of the portal, pic related). He speaks directly to Merrei making use of a sort of communication link the two of them have. He informs Merrei and the PC's that the town is under attack, the whole city being placed under some sort of spell by Travis Dustin, where no one recognizes each other and he walks freely among them. Only Sarrum and his young daughter are uneffected. He pleads for the PC's to come back through the gate and save the city. With duty calling them for the first real time, the Guardians step through the portal. And so ends episode 5.

Things seem to be going pretty good so far.The last fight they were in they had some serious trouble so the game hasn't gotten totally crazy out of balance.

Also, I know I said I was doing a double feature but with the appearance of a new story, I'll hold off for a bit. After this point in the campaign episodes starting taking multiple sessions due to the increase in danger, stakes and explanation of what the fuck is happening. I'd rather not split storytimes into sessions but rather just keep an entire episode together and concise.

As for a name, I think i'm going to go with Kansainon, y'know like the regional dialect.

ALRIGHTY. I'm going to starting writing up session 2 now considering I have naught better to do, the more I get out of the way now the less work it is to post all of this later. In my hastiness I missed out one last detail. So Session one ends with Goezome on cleanup duty. She congratulates the party on a job well done and pays them the bounty that was on Skullomanias head which is all in all a pretty penny for every member of the group. Goezome gives the group a warning not to go too hard taking down these criminals because of one particularly bad one that has been causing the DHS a lot of trouble, far too dangerous for a bunch of super powered kids to handle. A serial killer by the name of Black Dahliah. Pictured here.

Now this is where session two would start. That would be the sensible thing to assume. However through talks with my players I came to the agreement to run "Side-Stories". This pretty much encompasses anything the characters wanted to do at any given time in the week done in a play by post fashion. Small XP rewards would be handed out to encourage more side stories, not a whole lot. I wasn't handing out XP to the point where a more munchkin minded player might try and spam out a bunch of short side stories to level up, no. These players put in a bit of elbow grease into this one, and thus a section of our game dedicated to Slice of Life shenanigans was born.

SIDE ONE: Akira (F) Invites Shizune for some ice cream and nothing else.
This side story starts out as pure a story as any. Akira trying to get to know her senpai a little bit better through the use of well placed dairy products. Shizune waits in a spot and is greeted by a waving female Akira. She leads Shizune onwards to ice cream! Except she was leading her in what looked to be the darker and more seedier streets of Osaka's red light district.

Now I am not one to explain a joke but lets see whats going through Shizune's head at the moment. She believes her Kohai is a boy dressing as a girl for fun, she is being led through the seediest parts of Osaka, for "ice cream".
The two finally make it to Osaka's best ice cream shop "Emisumairu". The shop checks out, ice cream is good. The two of begin to have a heart to heart over some ice cream and they learn a bit about eachother. Shizune shows a bit of concern for Akira's situation. To her, something very shady and VERY ILLEGAL was going on but Akira shows her how beauty can exist even in a shoddy place like this, pointing to windowsill flowers, which eases her tension a little bit

It was at this point where Akira gives Shizune a cute as hell nickname, which took me a good few days to figure out: "Shizu-nee". The two talk about themselves, Shizune tells Akira of her dire monetary situation and Akira tells Shizune about her family which consists of three sisters and a single mother (it's all starting to make sense for Shizune)
>>
did you use discord for the play by post segments?
>>
>>56388177
Akira offers to put in a good word with her mother to see if she can get Shizune a job working with her mother at the Arachne Bank (think of it like, and I hate to use this comparison: Japanese Gringotts). The two finish their ice cream and Akira escorts Shizune home, it IS what a gentleman like Akira would do. They exchange their good byes but Shizune drops something which is picked up by Akira. It's an I.D card. "The name reads 'Higeshima Seika' The address seems to be from Tokyo, her blood type is O and by the date of birth, she should be a last-year student." (Picture is of Higeshime Seika)

So they both just stand there.

AND SO BEGINS SESSION TWO
We open in Nantoka High where Ito is roaming the halls. This is something VERY rare, as Ito makes it a point of regularly skipping classes and school all together. He just shows up from time to time to remind people that he's still here and still a badass. In the halls, Ito comes across his second in command: Delinquent B. He is just standing next to the lockers blubbering and crying. Naturally Ito comes in to try and get him to man up and to see what is wrong

Delinquent B is crying because Delinquent A and Delinquent C...
TRANSFERED TO A DIFFERENT HIGH SCHOOL!
Ito tries to tell B to get a grip but it's all too sad for him as he recalls precious summer memories "Remember that time we spent at the beach last summer" "Remember when we saw the ocean, and I smashed the watermelon!". Ito was down to just one gang member, having lost two in one fell swoop. Ito gets a bright idea, possibly the brightest he'll get in a while. He will recruit a scrawny, weak looking and possibly nerdy student into his gang.

Why might you ask would he do that "Because when people see that bunny hanging out with a pride of lions, people are gonna think that's one tough bunny, thus making US look tougher" also to mould said bunny into a big strong man. Now who did Ito have in mind, why a young boy by the name of Shirai Akira. The two set off in search of this Akira boy and B tells Ito about a rumour he heard of from another school.

See word has spread about the ghost of Nantoka high and how immensly badass he is. Well the next school over named Dezu high just so happens to ALSO have a rumour in their school of some ghostly and possibly MORE badass figure is lurking. This is something ITO WILL NOT STAND FOR. So he now has two goals: 1. Recruit Akira and 2. Get the Nantoka High ghost to beat the crap out of the Dezu High ghost to prove that Nanto High is number one.

Meanwhile Akira (M), Shizune and the ghostly apperation known only as Jagasaki were taking class together. Akira was one year below Shizune but because the school was so crappy and underfunded, they ended up sharing a class. Akira was trying to speak to Shizune, passing notes through Jagasaki to try and clear up the awkward situation they ended on during their ice cream retreat. Shizune gets the message "Lets talk after class"
Meanwhile on a stairwell we see Futaba and her partner Taro conversing. Here we learn one of the reasons Futaba was in this dump. Her mother had been running a little "deal with the devil" business, where she would be able to grant any hearts desire, a change of appearence, power, wealth. In exchange you owed the Onigata a number of "years" based on the price of the deal. I'll leave the speculation as for what that means to you. In the middle of the two conversing, Taro's ears perk up and he can hear the distinctive sound of doors being kicked in
Doors were being kicked in. Specifically by Ito. He was booting down every door, leaning inside looking for Akira, moving down the hall and repeating the process. Not even thinking to ask which class Akira was ACTUALLY in. B was following him nervously, urging him to not disturb the ongoing classes, apologising on behalf of Ito.

Futaba stops and asks what Ito is doing, to which he replies that he is looking for a boy named Shirai Akira. Futaba only knows Akira as a girl and tells Ito that it's a she. Cogs are tuning in B's head (could the rumours be true?). He shakes them off and assures himself that Akira is a man, to which Ito replies "Isn't it obvious, there's just two Akira's, you bozos woulda nevah thought of that one"
Futaba walks up and points at the VERY NEXT class that Ito was going to boot in and says "that's *her* class.". One door booting in and one teacher who clearly gave zero fucks and decided to go on a smoke break later and Akira was free from class, along with Shizune and her ghostbuddy Jagasaki, who had disguised himself as a young boy.
Ito and B formally invite Akira into the Ito gang under their "rabbit among lions" plan of action. Shizune is not too amused by Ito shenanigargles though the though intruiges Jagasaki. Ito promises new members rewards and great adventure! Taro's ears perk up and then summarily dissapear so he can remain in disguise. B explains to the group about the rumour of the ghost of Dezu high, it even has a name: "Balmung".
Shizune correctly assumes that perhaps some shady Arimitama shit is going on and tries to whisper to the others, though it proves hard with B standing right there. Shizune convinces B to not listen in to their secret conversation with a well placed persuasion check, and B sticks on some headphones and listens to his mixtape.
Shizune clues in the guys about the weirdness of the situation, if the Arimitama are involved it needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. The first thing they would have to do would be to keep Innocents out of the picture, so Shizune convinced B to stay away from Dezu high by telling him "If you see an actual ghost for more than 30 seconds, you'll be a virgin for life!". Naturally this scares Delinquent B, who decides to take the day off and go home to read the latest Shonen Jump.

>>56388274
The group finally gets all together to take care of this ghost for their own reasons. To prove how tough Nantoka High is, to relish in a fight, to protect the Innocent and to show adventure to a foxboy. All noble goals

The group arrives at Dezu high where they are greeted by a group of Dezulinquents and are led into the school. They come into contact with the ghostly being known as Balmung, something is wrong. Balmung's eyes are glowing red and he's getting really angry "EVIL MUST BE PURGED" she shouts, and he grows more than ten times his size, Rita Repulsa style. The Dezu high students are fainting and some kind of magical barrier covers the school and the courtyard. Thus begins the first tough boss battle
They give Balmung everything they can and he is battering them back with a huge sword. Akira gets into position and launches into a full assault onto Balmung, landing like two or three attacks. Balmung still stands, wounded hard but he's still up. The giant turns around, see's the boy and slams down with his sword. DIRECT HIT, Akira is cleaved straight through and is down for the count.
Things are getting serious, they're acting more carefully, getting Akira out of the way and pummeling as much as they could onto Balmung. Eventually they managed to wear the giant down and Jagasaki set off a powerful enhanced phantasmal spell that sealed the final blow against Balmung.
The giant shrinks to his regular size, dark shadow escaping his mouth and flying off into the air and dissapating. He thanks the group and is covered in light and that light shatters, and a sword clangs to the ground. His true form. Futaba has Taro recover the blade and calls for her limo to get Akira to a private hospital. Akira, while gravely wounded, was still alive.
>>
>>56388296
Akira is hauled off in the limosuine to be taken to intensive care. It was the most they could do for him. Ito shot off on his motorcycle, making sure nobody saw him piss his pants at meeting an actual ghost

When he got home, he asked his mother to give him his fathers sword.

AND THUS ENDS SESSION 2.
A little shorter than Session 1 on virtue of not having to front load character introduction. I'll see if I can get Session 3 out after i've had a bit of sleep.

This was a pretty real moment. Due to a miscalculation on how hard the boss should be, it did all of Akira's HP and instantly Downed him. It ended up being written out as a near bisection of his torso, so everybody was afraid he'd die on the way back to the hospital afterward, even with Godhunter toughness. Was kind of a big whipash moment from cute ice cream and fun with Ito's gang.

Any real tips for running the game? I'm going to be using roll20.
>>
>>56368704
Nice.
>>
>>56395400
learn how to use Roll20's tools. It has many and they are not always obvious.

some of the basic stuff would be

Practice manipulating the background, moving objects between players, setting up maps, making tokens, setting up character sheets, and linking tokens to character sheets.

Then there are less obvious but very useful things.

for instance:

You can make scripts for common actions.
One of my players knows how to do this. I have yet to wrap my head around it.

I'll give you an example of how they use it. (the game I'm running is using Mutants and Masterminds 3e as it's system not Kamigakari)

They've written scripts for each of their character's powers.
So with a push of a button they can make roll20 generate a post that features

They've got one set up for each of their character's powers.

With the push of a button roll20 will generate a post that
-makes all the character's rolls for that action
-lists the order of operations and results if successful.
For whichever power/attack they are using.

It both speeds things up since instead of entering multiple roll commands you just press a button, and it also helps with remembering the rules since you get regular reinforcement, and if you DO for get then you don't have to tab over to the rulebook, character sheet, or other notes.

I'm giving this as one example of how their are features on Roll20 you might not know about until someone tells you about them.

Effect:

Naturally you swap out X and YY for Rank and PD/MD. So you can probably tailor a bunch of different ones for different attacks.

practice manipulating background size and, if you plan on using square or hex grids, manipulating the size and scale of grids to be in scale with your maps, because that can be a bitch to get right.

and

moving objects AND GROUPS OF OBJECTS between LAYERS.

Divide your notes up

have some on google docs
have others in a physical 3 ring binder

realestate on your monitor is at a premium when you are running a game online. (I have 2 large monitors and it's still an issue)

So have static charts and diagrams printed/drawn/penciled out on physical paper so that you can lay them out where you can look at them at a glance

instead of shifting between tabs and windows to find them in the middle of a game.

make a sheet with brief notes on the powers, speeds (ground foot speed, then any other speeds they may have from being able to fly or transform or summon something faster),
and the numbers involved in common rolls and checks.

that way when Player Character X uses that attack they always do, or is that target of some social or physical effect/attack. you can just glance at Player Character X's entry on the cheat sheet instead of grabbing/tabing for Player Character X's whole character sheet.

Alright, I have some coffee in me and enough sleep.

Here comes Part 3. Last we ended on the throwdown between Nanto and Dezu High to see who's ghost had the most. Turns out Jagasaki is the ghost who can host the most and Balmung was defeated and reduced to a mere sword rather than a sword spirit. Akira had nearly been bisected and was in a critical condition. In between Part 2 and 3 we have count em TWO Sides. The first is significantly shorter than the other but all of it ties into the main episode.

Side2: Ito apologises, and yet still knows no shame. Akira was brought into a "specialist" private hospital called Yata-Medical and was being given the best medical care that Onigata money could buy and thus was in fact not dead, in a sorry condition but living. Ito visits bowing profusely, which is incredibly out of character but then again he IS trying to butter up this cripple into joining his gang, he gets nothing for his efforts.

...Side 2: Sexual Witches can fix ANYTHING.

Futaba convinces Akira to come to the hotel to see if her mother can find a way to heal him. Futaba has an ulterior motive for inviting Akira into her home, she suspects something strange is afoot with this boy/girl and senses magic might get involved and today she might just be able to find out what that feeling was. Futaba's mother was a powerful Miko (who was also part of that direct liniage of succubi but that's nether here nor there) who definitely had the power to heal Akira, though like all dark magic it comes at a price, which is more or less why Akira went to the hospital first instead of straight to Mama Onigata.

When Akira arrives he meets Futaba's mother again: Onigata Seika (fun fact, I had named her Seika before Shizune's player dropped that I.D card, I just completely FORGOT that name as part of her backstory, so we have two Seika's). Seika instructs Akira to lie down on a bed in a middle of a dark room lit by candle light, she tells him to remove his clothes (This of course is a small joke and she reassures him he won't need to). She places her hand on him and starts chanting a strange and definitely not-japanese language. The wounds start sealing and healing up and everything is looking great.
Then they all hear a gutteral grunt coming from inside the room as the area near the door is splattered by blood. A figure shrouded in shadow stands clutching a wound going down from his shoulder. This shadowy figure has nine tails, this was the partner of Onigata Seika. Turns out she didn't ACTUALLY heal Akira, but transfered all of his battle damage onto her partner Kitsune, which was totally fine because he has strong regenerational powers. Akira is unsure how to feel about his pain and suffering being transfered to another person but OUR BOY is right as rain. This of course is not free, he owes the Onigata big time. Seika says she'll call in a favour from the Shirai when she needs it, thus tying Akira into the web that is the Onigata's.

After that Futaba presses Akira on his ability but he keeps his actual powers secret, still professing he can switch between boy and girl. Futaba asks him to prove it using Taro as a guineepig. And so begins the biggest bluff Akira has done up until now. Akira of course is a shapeshifting creature of God knows what description, however he has also mastered the art of crossdressing. Futaba lends Akira her kitsune companion in order for her to see this shapeshifting magic and she leaves the two alone. Akira doubles down on the idea that he is not a shapeshifter and works his "magic" on Taro turning him into a girl through art of crossdressing. Futaba see's the reveal and is ultimately dissapointed that it was not magic but the work of a King Trap, Akira's secret is safe.

Fast forward to SESSION 3. We open in the Ito household where we meet a new character. Ito Yuuna, the oranges haired mother of Ito Daiichi. Last we left off Ito was asking for his fathers sword, now a little bit about Ito's backstory: His father was a Godhunter who fought against the Aramitama during Purgatory Night, a strong warrior but was ultimately killed when Ito was at a very young age leaving behind his legendary sword.

Yuuna takes one look at her son and goes "Noooo waay, you are way too green". Yuuna was not awakened but she knew about her husbands Godhunter status and supported him up until his death. Ito is of course disapointed by her denial. Yuuna reassures her son that one day he will be ready, and she takes a big swig of her sake. Also Ito's mother is ALSO an alcoholic, you can really see where he gets it from. The two share an illegal underage drink together as alcoholic mother and alcoholic son should. (side note, i've been spelling Aramitama wrong a bunch, i'll stop that now).

Meanwhile at the Onigata hotel. Seika is getting assisted by the Yakuza that had betrayed the Okada acting as something like a janitor and caretaker for the hotel. He is significantly safer now that he is working for the Onigata. Or he would be safer...
We cut away again to the local combini where Shizune is taking a break outside talking with Jagasaki. Things are starting to look up for her as she was on the cusp of potentially getting a new better paying job and she would finally be able to quit her shitty late shift at the conbini. However in the middle of the night on her break she is approached by a attractive young man who happened to be walking through the neighborhood looking for a certain traitorous Yakuza.
This young man is Okada Kenta, and he is acompanied by a retinue of "Skullomaniacs". So remember Skullomania from session one, the players beat his ass SO HARD that he got downgraded to a mook npc enemy. So Okada hits on Shizune a little but mainly he is after anything anyone might know about this Ex-Yakuza. A good bit of pursuasion later and he gets sent in the complete OPPOSITE direction of where he actually needed to go to find him, this naturally ends up wasting his time and our coward yakuza traitor escapes Scott free.

Akira now fully healed meets with her sister at the Arachne Bank, Shirai Taira. Taira is older than Akira and acts as the loving flowery onee-san and they catch up with eachother. Taira lets Akira know that their mother has caught word of Akira's little deal with the head lady of the Onigata and she was piiiiised. To quote Taira "I got a loud phone call along the lines of 'when I catch her, i'm going to kill that harlot' " refering to Onigata Seika, Akira is a pure cinnamon bun not for killing.
Unfortunately this meeting between sisters is interuped by a very real robbery as Okada Kenta, a retinue of Skullomaniacs and his father Okada Eiichiro make an advance on the bank. It seems like the time Kenta would have spent looking for the traitor was cut short due to not being anwhere close so the heist started a little early.
Akira had managed to get a hasty phone call out to Shizune to mobilize her friends but it was cut short by the Yakuza who proceeded to knock the hell out of her tossing her in with her sister and the hostages.

This ends session 3. Session 4 starts DIRECTLY after this so I think i'm going to take a short break and continue on.

i like how you include reminders, and more subtle reminders in the form of referencing defining details, in your storytime about who is who.

it makes keeping track of what is going on much easier. Which in turn leaves me more time to enjoy the story.

ok.

The idea of Ito trying to appoligize and do it with vigor while doing it wrong and not understanding how or why despite believing he'd doing it genuinely is amusing to me.

Dragon carrier A would be easier to refluff, but if you find some sorta visor type magical weapon in one of the books or expansions, then that could totally work, yeah.

Its more about how you put it together, rather than if it would work.
>>
>>56397858
looking forward to it.
>>
>>56400580
yeah. I'm not sure how to make "body part functioning as a ranged weapon, or a variety weapons" work.
>>
>>56400644
A variety of weapons is easy due to godhunters having personalized hammerspace at all times. Just get a bunch of weapons.

Honestly speaking though, the game does allow for refluffing of stuff if you can't find something that suits your purposes as it should. Find something with stats and effects that you think would work, for example something that increases magical rank by 1 for a turn 1/combat, and refluff it as a visor, or a stretchy arm, or whatever.

Again, its more how you do it than if it would work.

I'm gonna make a new thread once this one starts autosaging.

The point of making threads on friday was to start them when most people who has been regularly showing up happened to be on 4chan.

This thread went really fast though so I think that means we can expect people to post in a new one.

I wouldn't do that. One lesson i learned early on is that you should be consistent, and give the thread room to breath. Trying to keep it up constantly will just cause it to burn out instead.

Its a long wait, for sure, but waiting is good. It gives people time to think, stew, and fester on their own. They may think of things we never considered. Like eye lasers.

But if you think it will work out, you are free to try. I don't have any actual power to stop you, after all.

Akira was as unconscious as you can get after nearly being bisected down the shoulder. Though he could see where he was and understood the situation he was in.

Having a thread for the sake of having a thread is a waste but there's two GMs dropping in to storytime, which might be worth making another thread after this one? And if it dies it dies
>>
>>56402957
So whatever Akira and Akira's family are, they remain aware of their situation even when not conscious?

>Having a thread for the sake of having a thread is a waste but there's two GMs dropping in to storytime, which might be worth making another thread after this one? And if it dies it dies

That's a good point.
When we've got people wanting to do things. Then it makes sense to have a thread.

It's not the same thing as starting a thread just to have a thread.

And part 3

I was gonna add the comment about explaining and the excerpt from the story, but i don't think kansaianon ever actually got around to that.
>>
>>56403011
Also minor details; Akira is mechanically a Hanyou, but fluff-wise can genderbend for Ranma 1/2 shenanigans. It's unique to Akira though and we haven't gone into how/why they can do that. Shizune thinks they're a crossdresser, Ito thinks it's two separate people and Jagasaki doesn't care. Onigata is the only one who asked and Akira dodged the question
>>
>>56403136
I decided against posting full logs, just didn't feel right when doing a storytime. So I think if I do take anything from them it'd be small excerpts. Sorry if that comes across as disappointing but I want to make sure the story that is written is good.

>I want to make sure the story that is written is good.

That's cool.

I can see how using excerpts of more than a sentence long as well as using excepts often can be bad for the presentation of the story.

They are something you use sparingly to punctuate or clarify things.

Is it a scene that's hard to describe in greater detail?

I'm primarily interested in the scene since it seems to be one that would reveal more about the characters involved. Both Ito and Akira are out of their element and dealing with stressful situations, though to different degrees, and how characters behave and cope in uncomfortable or stressful situations can reveal a bit about who they are. Even if it's something very short.
