3rd thread on the Reforged Order and Imperator's Crusaders

We got a lot of characterization done on both. Some special characters in charge of Companies and the Sorcerer Apostle in charge of the ICs.

The homeworld of the Marines and knights, Tavos, has historically been a schizo Feudal world with a largely Steel level civilization living within highly advanced Hab-Domes across the planet connected by trams and space shuttles. In light of the Rift splitting the Imperium and constant incursions into their territory, the Knights and Marines decided to begin a reapid and controlled industrialization program across their holdings to bring more effectiveness to the front. Right now, semi auto rifles, early machineguns, cannons and more ae in use by the PDF and soldiers with standard Imperial grade equipment becoming more common by the year. This rapid industrialization has come at the price of a severe shift in social cohesion due to the breaking of barriers and the population explosion brought by these changes

"This is the Blade of Millennia, passed down since forged by our first masters, together before the anvil."

"Heavy. This blade. This weight."

"The weight of history, and responsibility. Yours to carry. I ask the Emperor forgiveness placing it on you in these dark times, but one must always do so. Twice bent, thrice cracked, chipped an innumerable number of times. But, it always returns to be remade. Reborn."

"Unbroken."

"Yes. May you be as this blade in the gathering darkness."

"No. Not I, We. Together we must bear this weight. So few our numbers. We must act as one in body and in mind and in spirit if we are to see the dawn. Together we are reborn more then brothers. Together we are and will always be Unbroken."

>Fairly certain our Founding Forge Master would be brought back to some clarity with Guiliman’s return.
>How did I forget him. Leo the Mad suddenly becoming clear minded and free from his madness due to the presence of Bobby would be cool, he ain't a Heresy Marine but it's been shown Primarchs have an Effect on their sons just from presence alone.
This'd be a fun bit, Guilliman inadvertently healing our Dreadnought interred founder of his madness and once again bringing to him his own divinity.

>Last two threads we got most our work done at night and no one's here
Typical. Whenever *I* make a thread no one comes here at all. Whatever.

>Warp Space worlds have seen the development of warp drives and Geller fields, and the inhabitants are capable of travelling in the galaxy beyond their own system. Powerful computers are common. cybernetics and advanced medical techniques have been developed that border on Imperial level augmentation and rejuvenants. Primitive models of more advanced weapons, like plasma and needle weapons, are exceptional but present.
This world/System must have been lower tech for whatever reason by the Marines but it has benefitted greatly by the rapid industrialization. The Moon of Jool has reaped the benefits by the advancements of it's onsite refineries.

For size should Moons be Miniscule or Tiny?

Other than Guns, Printing Presses and Electricity I think Bikes would be a huge improvement for the average Tavosian/ite. You now have a mount you don't need to feed! It's easier to maintain, clean andkeep in proper shape with no droppings to clean up. And it's easier on the hips too, along with a whole family can have a bike for each member allowing immense mobility increase compared to previous generations .

They worship the marines as Demi-gods and they have a cult based around them. The cult has spread to the regular populace as the marines saved the entire planet from a particularly viscous DE raid.
>>
>>63306349
That's right. They also took up the practice of replacing body parts with bionics in a way of emulating them. The RO ave up trying to stop/dissuade them after two millennia of failure on the subject. Now they are exasperated/disturbed by it.
>>
>>63306418
Yeah the populace hopes to try and live up to their saviors by trying to emulate their toughness through cybernetics.

Daoes amyone agree on my thoughts? The IC could be either Fanatic or Neutral. But the Neutral stance is a weird sort and regards t oChaos in general, they'll torture Daemons, make use of all sorts of experiments ans more but it would seem their faith in the "Emperor" and it's blessings keep them fairly 'Clean' from the touch of Chaos as one would normally think it. They're quite far down the rabbit hole anyway.

Final Judgement

The Crozius/Staff of The Sorcerer Apostle Solalion. Forged from his Librarian staff post exile and is said to be 'Blessed' by the 'Emperor' Himself. Greatly improves Solalion's psychic powers and is a more than effective weapon on it's own.

Sieg and Attrition.

Ay ideas on why the IC do this? They've been fluffed so far as being rather sneaky and underhanded. Not NL or AL tier but pretty damn good and slipping through Imperial defenses to raid and acquire material they need.

In addition would they have small shipyards/depots in deep/blackspace? Having all their eggs in one basket at Arse End would be a bad idea.

I think they'd perform Siege and Attrition less as a way of effective way to wage war, though they're quite good at it in modern times millennia of prctise and real battles have taught them much, they do it more to satisfy their cruelty and sadism.

They love seeing the morale and will of their prey break down as they then begin to infight and consume themselves further weakening them for the IC to pick off at their leisure. While not fast or quick, their numbers aren't as depleted as normal Warbands due to this.

Any idea on Why the Governor/Official is lending aid to the IC? What exactly do they get out of the deal? How long has this been going on? Just him, is his family in on it, how many generations does it go back?

Like most Warbands, the IC most definitely out number their Loyalist counterparts.
>No/Less restrictions on recruitment and training
>They resorted to more despicable means of said recruitment and training
>Their Loyalty to one another led to much less backstabbing among them meaning less infighting and fatalities keeping their numbers down
Anywhere from 20-30 Companies would be very liberal estimates of their strength post Ravaging. They lost areound the same percentage as the RO and were left with a 1/3rd of their original numbers. Ths remaining are the HQ and Vets that escaped and the Companies that were away raiding and the time. This leads to a lopsided force org for the IC, but they still outnumber the RO but are still quite spread out so as to reduce casulaties by going to ground, luckily Arse End was not found and destroyed so they have a lot of back up equipment. But the Ravaging was a huge shock to them and have redoubled their efforts towards their 'Emperor'
>>
The IC are interesting, they think they are the Only true Space Marines and all others are Heretics in their eyes. Loyalist or Traitor, it don't matter to them, they're all Heretics to them. So they have very few 'Friends' to help them out and that's with the IC grudgingly offering/accepting aid from outsiders since they are wary of them.

The DE betrayed them for whatever reason despite their centuries of business, the Governor was likely strongarmed/catfished into helping them and is too deep to pull out. They likely have ties to pirates, smugglers and Triator Guard and Navy when appropriate, and have been trying to spread their faith of the 'Emperor' around the Sector which is insidious really.

Their brand of the Imperial Cult is nigh identical and they've been fairly successful in spreading it. Inquisitorial forces have reckoned approximately 5% has been converted and it is hard to dig them out, let alone find them in the first place since it's near indistinguishable from the standard

>Anywhere from 20-30 Companies would be very liberal estimates of their strength Pre-Ravaging.
Fixed that
>>

Solalion has rejected Princedom numerous times by the 'Emperor' over the millennia on the grounds it would interfere in running the Chapter and reduce the effectiveness of the Crusaders spreading the Word. In spite of this he has received a number of 'Blessings', chief among them is the sphere of light that surrounds his head and from whatever direction one looks they always see a Halo of light, increased scale and bronze/gold/brass skin along with indecipherable script on his skin as well as his voice which is far carrying and described as like an angel with the authority of the Emperor.

The Marines of the IC are infamous for how normal they look in comparisons to other warbands. Physical mutations (skin/bonegrowths, odd coloration, appendages) and the like are nonexistent. This is likely due to the 'Blessings' by the 'Emperor' and the efforts by the Crusaders themselves to purge the unclean among their ranks, seeing such things as obvious signs of heresy.

En and An

The moons of Tavos, one a freezing Mining moon rich and dense in Tranphasic materials used for all manner of advanced equipment and the other a blazing hot Ocean Agri world that feeds Tavos and its sister moon with Algae farms. Their populations are quite small and are mostly made up of workers with administrators and security overseeing their operations.

En is most interesting for a liquid metal substance that seems to never end, it always leaks from tunnel walls and is an amzing heat conductor, the RO and House Xavis have taken to using it as coolant fluid in a number of areas, most notably as part of ship reactors or Knight powerplants. The Bitter cold can kill a man not in Power Armor or sufficient protection within a matter of hours.

An is Home to numerous 'Islands' of rock that pierce the surface of it's ocean face. 'Forests' of Kelp and other undersea vegetation are rife and home to numerous creatures that are either a delicacy for the rich and powerful or a terror to the populace. The Heat of the world means few dare to live on the surface since death is swift through dehydration.

The RO arm their PDF with Rhinos and their variantsfor part commonality and ease of production. The main differences between the PDF and Marine versions are quite large but the use of similar production lines means swapping between a PDF and Marine Rhino is simple and easy. PDF grade Rhinos have cheaper/thinner armor more in common with a Chimera, their drive trains are more simple and less robust. Sensors are rudimentary in comparison.

Armament wise, their is less Bolters but everything else can be found easily. The most common Predator variants are the standard Predator Destructor and Annihilator, though their exists a Mortar carrier and Rotor Stubber as ingenious home grown variants.

The Basic Rhino is modified for cargo, fuel, ammo, mobile powerplant, regimental HQ, Comms carrier, AAA, Medvac and many more
>>
The RO's armories and vaults are still filled with many examples of exceptionally old equipment, many dating to the Heresy and some even before during the golden years of the 13th Legion. The RO would take apart many of these examples to study as much as possible to construct recreations to the best of their ability. It is such that one can find all manner of recreated Mk II, III and even IV Power Armor among the ranks of Marines.

Such practices has earned the RO grumbling from local Mechanicus authorities but are rebuked by the RO mentioning this is a common practice by the Mechanicus themselves. In addition, the age and deep relations with the Forge Worlds gives them much leeway thanks to their successes in such recreations.

House Xavis stuff

Forged during the Forging from the remains of several defunct Houses, Freeblades and various other people to lend aid to reclaiming and enforcing Imperial Law during those trying times.

House Xavis would meet the RO wen they went under their original name. Their relationship would be birthed from the decades of closely working together War after War. Both Did not have a home, Xavis for being newly forged and the RO due to choice to be Crusaders. Both would land on Tavos after a particularly tough War that led to serious losses to them but resulting in an Imperial victory. Stumbling upon the Trinary Star system was mostly accidental on their part as a hasty jump by their combined fleet to escape an Ork Waagh Fleet gunning on them was what led them there. Said jump would leave their jump drives inoperable for quite some time leaving them effectively stranded.

"Divine Decree"
Nemesis Class Battleship/Supercarrier
In M38 the IC would lose their Battlebarge 'The Emperor's Torch' due to an invasion by a Chaos Fleet made up of several Warbands in retribution for the IC having raided and killing them for centuries after finally tracking them down.

The flagship and home of the IC. The IC came to possess such a rare and mighty vessel by way of subterfuge and misdirection. Two and a half Companies worth of IC would translate into the Drenula System as part of a raid while masquerading as another Chapter. They were received with much fanfare by the Authorities at the time since they were the first Angels to visit the system in over 1500 years. The IC decided to play along after noticing the Nemesis Battlecarrier and concocted a plan to steal it from the Imperials. After attending parties and visiting the Nemesis, various scrap codes and viruses were planted throughout the ship to begin the backdoor programs to eliminate any resistance once the proper Raid would come.

5 years later, a Chapter's worth of IC were assembled and struck the Denula system as another Chapter and struck the shipyards and planet indiscriminately. Such speed and power swept aside the defenders with ease due to their poor quality and fear of fighting the Angels. Once the boarding parties landed on the Nemesis, the trap placed years ago was sprung and the ship's system were quickly corrupted and soon answered only to the IC Techmarines. With the defenses under their control, eliminating the defenders left was a walk in the park for the IC.

Wih full control, the IC soon turned the Nemesis against the beleaguered defenders with quick and accurate strikes from its Lance batteries. The unprepared shipyards proved no match with their Void Shields in operable from the viruses implanted years ago that wormed their way in unnoticed. After the shipyard and nearby stations wee down the Nemesis turned it's attention to the planet below and fired raking sweeps across it's surface while accelerating away to Translate out of the system along with it's escort fleet the IC arrived in. After making their way back after a few years to shake off pursuers, the IC Raiding party returned home to present their new home to their Brothers. In celebration the captives they toojk from the Raid were sacrificed to the 'Emperor' with much fanfare.

"Forged From Adversity"
Invincible Battleship

The most powerful Space asset in the RO's possession. The RO 4th Company would stumble upon the once decrepit Battleship under the process of being Looted and Modified by Orkz. Realizing ow dangerous it would be for Orkz to get their filthy paws on such a ship, Captain Roland Diocletian orderd an attack on the Orkz to prevent it from falling into the Greenskins hands. The ensuing battle was fought for 2 1/2 straight weeks pushing the Orkz out and purging the spores while driving off their fleet. Many Imperial Lives, both Mortal and Astartes were lost in those weeks, but the 4th Company was victorious in their endeavors. The Orkz had sustained too much damage and fell to infighting after the death of their Warboss due to having its head shot off by a Killa Kan's gun.

After recovering it, the RO towed it to the nearest shipyard capable of birthing, let alone repairing it to spec. It was at the shipyard that the troubles began. Years later the RO would receive a message from the shipyard requesting an audience in relation to the Invincible they brought in. Perplexed, the CM agreed and sent elements of the 4th Company to investigate due to the request specifying the Marines who took part in recovering the Battleship. Once they arrived into the system and met with the Authorities was the reason disclosed: The Invincible's Machine Spirit was acting up and Tech priests were able to pinpoint the source laid in the RO themselves from digging into it's memories.

Apparently the ship responded best to memories of the 4th due to them saving it from being Looted, the ship was either unresponsive or even hostile to workers fixing it. It was believed the TMs of the RO could help assuage the MS and speed up its recovery
>>
>>63319306
The CM, MotF and the rest of the RO HQ convened on whether or not to agree to the plan. Letting the 4h go to aid in the reconstruction of the Ship would have greatly lowered combat effectiveness, but the Invincible apparently was such a hassle that they decided to go through with the plan and move the 4th Company to the system to aid in repairs and defend the surrounding system due to reports of increased Ork Waaghs.

Once the 4th Company arrived fully and began aid, the MS was notably calmed and progress hit a running gait in no time at all. Repairs were going off without a hitch and the TMs of the 4th would also lend their hands and skills to the shipyard on other systems/ships. After a decades the work was done and the invincible was ready to sail for the Emperor once more. But the issues with the Invincible was still not over, for sepite their best efforts the ship did not want to work with the Navy, but rather wanted to be with the RO. This perplexed and confounded the Navy command and Mechanicus. After another round of deliberating between the Ro, Ordo Astartes/Mechanicus, and all other parties it was decided to grant the RO ownership of the Invincible to get it off their hands and out of the docks to make room and make up for lost time. After shaking off their shock the RO celebrated their fortune and went to work on modifying the Invicible to the standards agreed: reduced firepower, cargo increased and a number of changes to meet compliance for it to be within a Chapter's command. Despite these changes, the FFA would remain the most powerful asset the Chapter would ever have even into the Post Rift era equaling the rest of their fleet combined in firepower.
>>
So how'd ya'll like the Ship stuff? Sorry for not posting much, it's my day off and I'm trying to relax before starting my new job next week.

How plausible would replacing the Land Speeder Tempest's Ass. Cann with a Lascannon/Autocannon be? I like the idea a lot and an obvious modification to act as a tank hunter form.
>>
>>63319713
>>63319306
I see the FFA as a 'Fast/Pursuit' Battlebarge, seeing as BBs are converted Battleships meant for Astartes use. The main feature is the Invincible's extra powerful plasma torches pushing the reduced mass to a higher level of acceleration and giving it more speed to intercept enemies and run them down after they flee.

Tavos Pattern Power Swords
A pattern of PS that the RO create as a symbol of office for the Captains and Veterans of the Chapter. They are based on the Sword of Millennia which was forged to celebrate the Chapter's founding so long ago and has been used and repaired repeatedly over the millennia against the enemies of Mankind
>>
>>63320411
These blades are rarely made as each was made to serve as the symbol of office of each company while also being an exceptional and fierce blade in combat. The names of each wielder is engrammatically enscribed onto the scabbard with new ones being added after a ceremony where it is passed unto the new holder. With the Ravaging reducing the numbers of the RO so much, most the the Blades are currently in storage unti lenough worthy bearers are available. However most RO Marines still around and not in a Dreadnought are allowed to wield them due to their experience and the dark times they currently face. Though only around 50 Marines have taken up the offer for whatever reason as of currently.

The DD would be refitted over the centuries at the expense of millions of slaves and material to better fill the role of the ICs mobile HQ. While still carrying a formidable compliment of strike craft, much of it's bays have been refitted for various systems: Hydroponics, Machine Works, a grand Cathedral, a R&R area filled with forest and designed like a Park, an enlarged arena for the Marines to train and a number of other add ons.

Watcher Power Glaive

A largely ceremonial wepon used by the RO's Honor Guard, they are fashioned after the Guardian Spears of the Adeptus Custodes, but of lower quality (in comparison) and less powerful. They are equipped with Bolt pistols and Disruptor Blades like the Guardian. They are not the most liked weapons in the RO's arsenal but have a fanbase with their ranks

Librarians

Like many Chapters, the RO have a Librarium and it's contingent.

In the past they were looked on in suspicion, due to the bias against Witches and especially the IC incident where a Chaplain turned Librarian led an entire Chapter of loyal (Though of WB stock) Marines to Heresy.

In modern times though the Librarians of the RO are seen with great affection and are their Brothers in Arms. It was due to the visions of Head Librarian Aximos Triar that the FFA was able to get out of the way in time to dodge a Nova Cannon shell from destroying it.

A surprising amount of Librarians survived the Ravaging due to either being on Tavos as fairly young Librarians, away in the DW, or being just plain lucky they were not killed.

Fuck missed it, anyways males could be long ranged because they have less to prove in close combat where as the women of the world wish to prove they’re just as good at melee. The men’s traditional weaponry could be a lasrilfe with a grenade under mount? Least I think that’d be cool.

Sounds pretty good. Tavos is pretty misogynistic or at least more Male focused, a real Patriarchy in a sense. Both the Knights of Xavis and RO are Male intitutions and hold virtually all power, women hold very little, but there are a surprising amount of them as Serfs under RO control. A number of ship Captains are women and in many positions. Which leads to here>>63327592

That was smoother than I expected for a Sunday. I'm back.

So the Female PDF get close and personal to show how great they are to everyone out of a sense the need to prove they're not just holes between their legs.

The guys on the other hand are much less driven, because Men pretty much run the govt on Tavos at nearly every level.

Sort of interesting how we ame into such an issue through rolling. So should the regiments pretty much be just proto skitarii with craploads of Rhinos in reality?
