Okay, I'm back. ITT, continue worldbuilding the chapter of Iron Hands descendants who give no fucks about the Codex and show the Night Lords how to do terror tactics right.
For anyone who wasn't in the original thread, get caught up here.
To help give this thread a push, I'll just repost a question from last thread.
>What else have we got in our lovely little clusterfuck of an insane asylum of a sector lads?
>How bad must a guard regiment be to get stationed out here?
>What is the sector like?
>Do normal people actually live here?
there are so many questions I want answers to!
What stories await in this sector full of fuckups?
given the sisters involved I'm going to be disappointing if we don't have some extremist Deathkorps in here at some point
>>
>>65977935
I know last thread someone was going to roll up a regiment before last thread reached bump limit.
Probably like the first predator movie if they piss of the locals/ the marines
I like to imagine all of the planets are some kind of different extreme enviroment, like not quite death world but odd in their harshness.
Like someones science experiment

At most in the sector I'd see one or two more civilized worlds, probably being the center of government, and even then maybe the world itself is low tech as well.

Normal as in how? 40k normal or normal normal
>>
>>65977935
We were going to roll up a Guard Regiment and there's a Deathwatch thread over at >>65977192.

I like the thought of having it be Gangers, being shipped here is part of their training to resist fear.
>>
>>65978229
Maybe it could be both? the ones chosen to serve are the ones who win the lottery. the emperor has no need for unlucky soldiers, so the losers are ground up into nutripaste.

That sounds about right, especially for the Sisters.
I gotta jet for a few hours, do keep the thread alive for me.

Ave Emperor.

>>65979108

Per canon the defective on Krieg are used as targets in live firing exercises. I'm sorry, there is no way in hell we are getting a mutie ganger krieger regiment without blatantly disregarding all of Kriegs lore.

They can be Krieg like, perhaps even inspired by Kriegers, but there is no way in hell they are Kriegers, not if we want to be even kinda sorta canon compliant. Besides, making them Kriegers rather than their own thing is boring.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be an ass, I just cannot support this idea in any way shape or form. As a long time Krieg autist I find it kinda....disgusting? offputting? suffice to say it hits all the red flags and presses all the buttons and I cannot stress hard enough how bad of an idea this is.
>>
>>65979481
lets start with this.
within the Venaro sector somebody rolled last thread that there were 134 known systems, Outside of Cydrasil, and the worlds of the sisters of battle, and this new guard regiment (which I'm going to propose as being named Apophis and Certion respectively just for reference).
Is there anything of note in the sector?

I'm also going to put down the sororitas as having their official name redacted, and only referred to as the order of last resort
>>
>>65979539
I didn't know that. Fair enough, not Kriegers. Maybe they want to be like the Death Korps to compensate for their wretched birth, so loyal to the Emperor that they'll die with a smile while setting off a suicide jacket as one final act of defiance.

Regardless of this roll. I suspect that he thinks he has ties with numerous space Marines chapters. Though in actuality its just multiple lodges of hunters who have met with him on different occasions, and just haven't given him enough information to piece it all together yet. When combined with the facts that he's old and experienced as fuck, he's well connected and in charge of a planet, here's what I'm kind of thinking happened to him.

This guy was an Excellent Inquisitor in his younger years, but grew of and more dodgy in the eyes of the Inquisition management, so they wanted to find something for him to do that would take him completely out of the equation. So the gave him command of the capital planet of the Venaro sector, thinking that nothing would happen and he'd be stuck there watching over the asylum till he died. They even gave him a couple of Inquisitors as underlings for support.
What they don't count on is that this guys connections effectively lead to him being the de-facto ruler of the entire sector and the second most powerful man in the entire region (second only to the grandmaster of the predators, who he doesn't even know exists), due to his ability to call up several dozen "chapters" of Astartes.

I rather like the idea of a cranky, and gleeful robo-grandpa using his SUPPOSED ability to call up a couple dozen Astartes chapters as a bargaining chip.
>*Naval admiral from outside the sector sees too much*
>Have you ever met a man capable of summoning 23 Chapters of Astartes to his aid Admiral?
>N-No lord Inquisitor, I have not
>(gleefully) Well it seems as though you have now. So I believe it might be best for everyone involved to keep this particular matter hush-hush understand?
>O-of lord inquisitor.
>>
>>65983759
Maybe they see the Inquisitor as some sort of honorary battle brother? Like he hunted down some big-wig Dark Eldar Archon all the way to Commorragh?
>>
You know it's very likely an open secret in Death Watch from Inquisitors, Astartes and more that these 23+ 'Chapters' are all sub groups of a larger one. But they've long since stopped caring and simply let it be, making the Predators have the(near) highest rate of brothers taking the Black among Chapters.

And there has been at least one kill team where all members were Predators but their aliases mean this happened
>>
>>65983871

The demon prince used Eustace colection of heretical artifacts to manifest once into the material realm, luckily for him, the predators already knew he was coming, they had a bullet with his name written on it for when he made his pressence known. Most esteemed Lords

As of late, long-range scans taken by the Imperial navy indicate a potentially hazardous entity within a relativly short distance of the border of the Sector, outside of Imperial space.
As you know the Venaro Sector has long been considered far from the frontlines of imperial space, as such the rehabilitation initiatives you have begun here have been going ahead as planned.
however, this has also left us utterly defenseless save for these helpless rabble you call "projects"

I pray that I am wrong, and that there truly is no threat, but I fear that we may have need of your aid

Reposting this from the last thread.

>Imagine being a member of a traitor Guard regiment. Your ship has been shot down, with only you and maybe a hundred others crawling out of the burning wreckage. As you regroup, you spare a thought for how oddly silent the jungle around you is, before suddenly a screech of static begins sounding on all sides and suddenly the jungle is alive, and tearing you all apart. You run, barely aware of the rest of your regiment being slaughtered by unknown assailants, before you are snatched up by the throat and made to stare into the camouflage painted face plate of a Space Marine. You feel the hand begin to slowly apply pressure to your throat, and as the world grows dark, you hear this thing speak a single sentence.
"Typical of your kind, abandoning the fight to die like a rat."

>>65989026
did anybody even update the pasterbin?
>>
>>65989026
Alternatively they could do separate entries for the chapter, Inquisitor and soriritas
>>
>>65988104
>>65988130

>I was once a respected daemon prince
>slaanesh zirself kissed my cheek
>now I am a laughing stock, the star of mocking plays and ballads
>I shall not know peace until I take the heads and hearts of all of the hunters
> and burn that bullet to ash
>>
>>65989051
I do have more written down in the doc I've been writing. its like 9 pages long at this point, but i'll put it in the pastbin if people want
>>
>>65989053
>>65989026
While its a fair point to save them by separate since the sororitas and the mutant korps are just a supporting cast, i think they are small enough to be added like a footnote
>>
>>65989099
frankly I'd prefer a way to just upload a docx. or pdf and let anyone else go for it.
>>
>>65989099
Thanks for your work, and your dubs. we just need some drawfags

>It's not even about those fucking Predators anymore

Oh damn, I didn't realize that I could post pdf file directly, I apologize for being a fucking idiot.
in any case this is the file that I currently have, detailing what I've got Chronicled from these threads. I've tried to avoid taking any notable creative liberties with things, though I did connect some points that seemed logical, expound briefly on notable characteristics, or arbitrarily pick things like "which planet in the system are they located on" that have no real bearing on anything.

It was mostly typed quickly, without proofing and in pieces, so things may overlap a *little* bit.
should be mostly the current stuff though.

'Blessed be the mind to small for doubt' so read the holy writings of Saint Vigustus. It had long been Father Mattius' favorite verse, ever since he had been assigned to oversee the spiritual well being Tallarn 666th auxiliary regiment.

He'd raged against the assignment, had known it to be a punishment and an Insult, but he had gone where he had been sent, and had found solace in that holy writ. For truly, his troopers were blessed.

Gazing upon them Father Mattius saw not a shred of doubt or fear in their inhuman eyes. Be they slit like those of a cat or the horizontal pupils of a goat, every trooper looked him square in the eye and not one wavered.

"This day" Father Mattius called out to them "You shall dine with the Emperor, and bask in the light of his love"

Behind him the tears in reality were vomiting up the wretched forms of the enemies of mankind, twisted by dark magics vile and perverse, but the regiment had eyes only for Father Mattius.

"Fear not death" He shouted over the horned heads of the assembly before him "For in death you find absolution. He who dies in the Emperors name, the same shall gain peace eternal at his side."

Father Mattius could hear them now, the unnatural chittering of their deamons and the stomp of heavy booted feet, along with the bolter and las fire of the defenders at the front line. Before him the troops grew restless, clawed seven fingered hands clenched around weapons and digitigrade legs shuffled.

Lacking time to say any more Father Mattius simply belted out as loud as he could "Go forth in the name of the Great Emperor of Mankind, and blessed be ye this day!"

His answer was a hundred guttural braying roars as they streamed past him towards the front line, where they would go up and over the edge of the trench and then counter charge to buy time for their regiment brothers and the Sisters of Battle to fall back to secondary emplacements. Though they knew they surely went to their deaths, he saw no fear in them, for they had been promised paradise and they did not doubt.

The sounds of bolter fire were soon replaced with the whir of chainblades and the shouts of the dying. Another stream of bodies went past Father Mattius, Sisters Militant in shining armor and abhumans toting valuable heavy weapons, but he did not join them just yet, no he waited a moment more, and then his patience was rewarded.

"EMPEROR IS GREAT" The shout rang out across the field and then-

Boom, the air was rent by a ripple of explosions as his flock began detonating the bombs hidden under their flack armor.

"Truly, blessed be the mind to small for doubt" thought Father Mattius as he began to run after the retreating forms towards the next line of entrenchment.

So yeah I did a thing. Sisters and Marines next? Or is it shit and I should be ashamed?

Tallarn 666th
fuck yes
and so begins the tale of the great siege of Venaro. Though hardly worthy of the title of "the Emperor's Finest" The courageous men and women of the Venaro rehabilitation sector, though stranded far from friendly aid and placed in circumstances in which even the hardiest of the Emperor's forces might falter. They held the line. though their great deeds are covered in more black ink in imperial records than most, there are a few who still remember.

Nice work with your compilation. You may want to look at the last pages of the text as it seems as some lines were erased. And please refrain from adding acusations about your fellow Inquisitors without evidence, like adding rummors of disapearing female officers as facts, as they are unfounded and yet to be verified.

My apologies,

I perhaps was carried away by rumors I had recovered during my time here. It was a curious, albeit as you say, unfounded rumor which fit the profile I had built of, as she has been referred to as, "a perverse, heretical, and yandere inquisitorial agent with access to a corp of trained assassins" as such, I included the rumor. Though I admittedly failed to record it as the rumor which it was. For that I beg for your forgiveness my lords. please expect a more complete draft of my initial report on the sector within the next several solar cycles.

I shall continue to monitor this sector discreetly as per your instruction, though I fear that need may come soon enough that we can turn a blind eye to the catastrophe unfolding here no longer.

Emperor be praised.

Shit, now I want to go though and reformat the entire thing under that persona, though if you give the Inquisitor a better name I'll just RP as that instead. well I don't need to sleep for a while yet
>spy hat on
>knuckles cracked
>heretics exterminated
>yep, it's inquisition time

It goes without saying that this thread is getting archived, but do we want to keep going with a third thread, or have we gotten everything we could out of this premise?
>>
>>65991542
we got the backstory, the setting, the players and the future threat coming in their next novel. We have laid down the groundwork to writte some shit with this. Im not sure if we could make a 3rd thread about "legends of the chapter" or go to the /qst/ board to try to make something out of it
>>65991453
Its your inquisitor brother Anon, its up to you to sign such a personal legend. Sleep thight, and hope to hear from you again
>>
>>65991578
I think would agree that we probably couldn't get anything else out of this if we are talking about the inhabitants. that we currently have.
If we were to want to add anything else to the setting, I'd say that we could leave it here. Idk otherwise though, I've been enjoying myself though, and we've got the makings of a hell of a tale so I'll probably tag along. Though if we don't add anything else, there rest will be more writefag intensive

Also I think I'll go ahead and roll up an inquisitor. pray for the dice Gods to be merciful, as my arrival in the sector after Emperor knows how long the sector having been without contact is, from the perspective of the inquisitorial report at least, the "start" of the story.
>>
>>65991727
The Inquisitor detailing the events of the story. Your arrival comes in the aftermath of the events, your writtefaggotry is the reports of the past events of our noble chapter.
I will admit, i had a blast as well. Its such a shame having to let go of this, i wish we could do more with it. It truly has been a roundabout path
>>
>>65991773
All stories must end eventually but the best ones are remembered for all time.
As it stands now, we have told a story that would put anything done by BL to shame, best not to drag it out past its welcome.
>>
>>65991773
>>65991813
Fingers crossed that I have enough time to actually write this stupid thing.
If want to make a thread on /qst/ to build the timeline and/or some specific characters within the events of the Siege of Venaro I'll go though a writefag them later.

Ostensibly connected under the umbrella of the chapter at large, the cultures and practices of the Predators tend to drift and gain focus within the numerous hunting lodges formed within its own chapter structure. Though not entirely disparate in their styling - chapter heraldry largely remains consistent, at least in basic palette, and a hunter culture is carried throughout - each lodge forms its own specific practices, rituals, and group bondings.

For example, one of the largest lodges - the Eyes in the Dark - may be said to represent the most basic form of 'chapter' culture as a whole. Akin to a small chapter in its own right, this lodge practices the art of the hunt in its more primal form, perfecting the usage of camouflage, tracking, and marksmanship, mixing more traditional elements from Codex compliant chapters into their operations only to accentuate their lodge canon. Groups that might be labelled scouts or assault squads in Codex-compliant chapters, are simply grouped together reliant on their placement in the hunt and individual relations.

Meanwhile one of the smallest known groups - the Starblight lodge, with roughly a dozen members - is highly selective in its recruitment, only admitting marines with an individualistic flair and a high level of cybernetic replacements tailored towards open void operation. Though only squad sized in Codex terms, this lodge has a series of miraculous and heroic deeds to its lodge lore. A tale comes to mind of a lone marine drifting through space in only his suit to latch onto the superstructure of a traitor cruiser, lancing a single shot through the metre-thick armaglass viewport of the command deck and hurling himself back into the void as the cruiser drifts captain-less into an ambush.
