/tg/ - Traditional Games

What is Gloria-Etalia? It is a setting which sprung up into existence when OP gave /tg/ an Empty map and people doodled things onto it. The world of Gloria-Etalia is one in the phase of the post-post-apocalypse where remnants of the once great civilizations remain like wandering cities of mimics or missile silos considered to be pyramids, but most of the ancient technology has decayed beyond recognition and barbarians control the world. Still the world is far from a dead ruin. It is a world full of nations interacting with each other, and the people interacting in turn.

Bad news, I got a message from the GRUPS anon that he was banned till the 28th for "spamming" reports against the shitposters. He won't be able to update his progress, but will be watching the threads and he hopes by the end of the ban he will have enough to start a game with.

The god hand, a still functioning, self installing, cybernetic combat prosthesis with a built in rechargeable power core. Blasts of energy may be emitted from its hand and electrical shocks may be administered to one's opponents. Its location is hidden somewhere deep within the ruins of the irradiated wastes. Ancient texts speak of receiving such an item for multiple payments months after the initial purchase.

Entry for goblins in the Marshes of Drache

Bands of goblins are a common sight in the Marshes of Drache. Despite limited communication between tribes and races in these marshes, everyone seems to have the same idea on actively killing any goblin they see on sight. Goblins have a high fecundity rate and any group of goblins left to their own devices will quickly skyrocket in number. While small bands may be an annoyance large numbers of goblins are a problem. Large bands of goblins tend to contain a greater variety of goblins which complicates things even more. These can go from bramblebird cavalry to a handful of goblin mages who tend to have an affinity for permanence magic.

>>
>>74547116
>I'd go with something a little more vague than that, otherwise we'd need to introduce cases of each specific school of magic across each sort of line. Maybe...

>Black
>Permanence. This sort of magic revolves around preservation no matter the cost, maintaining the 'cohesion' of its subject until the end of time. Typically this means necromancy, but there are other possibilities. Consider the eternal storm of the Windhell Valley, which is right over one of these lines.
>Purple
>Growth. This magic is a force of creation and multiplication. It can create something from nothing, and it can create many from one. In the case of the druidism of the treants, it's used for proliferating flora, though this sort of magic could also be used to conjure objects or entities.
>Yellow
>Destruction. Though the World Scar is an example of how destruction can end in oblivion, this isn't always the case. Consider the mountains that the lines of destruction run across, which could have their roots in the same cataclysm that caused the World Scar. Destruction can be another word for transformation, albeit a violent kind.
>Blue
>Change. The Wyrdlands are an example of this, as even time itself isn't stable in that region. This type of magic is not about the transformation of something from one state to another, but rather a lack of stability. Under the influence of change, mind and matter alike become fluid and chaotic.
>Red
>Structure. This magic builds on top of the foundation that already exists. The tireless labor of the mollusks transformed the world's devastated environment into something clean, that could allow life to flourish. The foul weather of the Storm Islands were woven into a powerful barrier. The magic of structure takes something that already exists and not only controls it, but improves it.

Except Chaos is probably a better name for Change and Control is probably a better name for Structure.

>Letter from Melac Seguetine, envoy to the Celestial Empire for the Morloux Republic, to the Commons Seat

I address this letter to my friends and colleagues in the Commons.

As you all know, there’ve been many tribute missions to the Celestial Empire in an attempt to gain access to a port between Midnat and Nulamore. It has been on the agenda for years and is an especially prominent goal for prime minister Corinou. As such, all officials who’re involved in such missions are required to read the official documentation on Celestial politics and culture. I hope I'm not presumptuous to claim I’m the foremost expert on Celestial culture in Morloux but while this document is invaluable, it is also severely lacking in its description of Celestials and its lack of nuance and context has caused several diplomatic incidents between our governments. I will write a revised version of this document which I’ll present to the Seat for a vote, but until then, here’s a short list of some important notes I want anyone who's involved in future missions to read, for the success of the mission and for your own safety.

Accept the names you’re given without complaint. Those of you who’ve interacted with Celestial officials have been addressed with certain names and they’ve written those names along with your own in official documents. If you translate these, you’ll find they often mean “Servant of Kings”, “Bower to Heaven”, “Commander of Subjects” and similar things. Do not misunderstand me, I fully appreciate that you find these names deeply uncomfortable, offensive even, and many Morlouxans before you have reacted the same way upon learning this, often asking to have them changed or removed on official documents, refusing to address themselves with it and protesting when others use them.

>(1/4)
>>

145 KB
145 KB JPG
>>74549082
Never do any of these things as you’re actively lowering your own status in the eyes of the Celestials. At best they’ll misconstrue it as a belief you’re not worthy of those titles, at worst they’ll take it as an insult for disrespecting the names themselves, which in truth you are and justifiably so. Please understand that they haven’t realised our enlightened ideals and that they believe servitude to a higher authority and social ranks are natural to man, however this culture is far more extreme in the Celestial Empire than any Westrasi nation, even Belara. These names and titles are a central pillar of Celestial culture and by not using them, you’re worsening your own and all of Morlouxs status to them. So however much you may dislike this, swallow your pride and use them. Which brings me to my next point.

Their rules of formality are unfathomably complicated, dictating when and where to use what names and titles of a person, when to bow, when you’re allowed to speak or look them in the eyes, all of these rules changing depending on whether they’re a noble, priest, eunuch, royal, etc. No matter how needlessly tedious, Morlouxan representatives have been diligently following these rules among the higher castes, especially in recent years. Some have even bowed to the feet of a royal with only mild complaint.

>(2/4)
>>
>>74549098
You’ll note however I specified we’ve done well in the presence of the higher castes, as we’re still terrible at interacting with the common people, specifically that we’re too courteous towards them. You may think that sounds ridiculous but understand that their oppressive hierarchy goes both ways. If you treat commoners as equals, and I mean this in the most banal ways, the Celestials will see you as a commoner. Ideally you shouldn’t even make eye contact with a commoner, let alone talk to them, but if you have to, speak in a stern quiet voice and only give them orders, do not politely greet them, thank them or ask for their permission on anything. You should never thank a servant, apologize to a servant or move yourself to not get in the way of a servant, you should barely acknowledge their existence, even as they whisk away crumbs from your chin, which indeed is a thing they do and is exactly as annoying as you imagine. Some representatives have studied the low Celestial language which is a well intended gesture, though it might not be worth the bother as simply speaking it in the presence of a noble might tarnish their impression of you.

Lastly, there’re many cultural quirks which the official documents never mention. While you’ll learn these from experience, there’ve been misunderstandings in the past so it would be beneficial to familiarise yourself with some of these.

You may already have heard of the Celestials aversion to touch, as in no touching hands, no embracing, no patting the heads of others or your own children, not even kissing your own family members. Therefore, many Morlouxans have been puzzled by their brazen disregard of nudity, having been casually invited to join in a bath, whether by another man, his wife, courtesan, priest or royal.

>(3/4)
>>
File: Celestial Bathhouse.jpg (144 KB, 500x500)
144 KB
144 KB JPG
>>74549115
The baths in question are public baths, outside in natural basins, where you’ll converse and drink with other tenants or even conduct official business while servants wash you, all with no regard to your bodily exposure. You should never take this as an invitation to intimate contact though, as they regard these installations similarly to how we might see a tavern or other drinking establishment, it’s not a brothel.

Similarly, you’re probably aware you should never eat, smoke or drink, alcoholic or not, outside or in buildings, except for specific rooms or installations like the aforementioned baths. However within these settings you will find the Celestials to be far more frivolous and brazen than you would’ve ever thought, having the spirit of a tavern in Larus on Leyron’s day.

All of these things and many more subtle aspects, far to many for me to include them in a single letter, have been a barrier for diplomatic relations between Morloux and the Celestial Empire for decades, and if we wish to lift these barriers between us we need to gain understanding of them. Even though this letter likely has only strengthened your prejudices against the Celestials, I’ve learned to respect and appreciate much of these people, despite it’s deplorable elements and we all might have to if we wish to forge this bond. As diplomatic missions increase in frequency and size, perhaps you can learn to share some of my sentiment. It will only be beneficial to the people of the Morloux Republic, and perhaps we might even be able to spread revolutionary ideals outside of the west.

Signed, Melac Seguetine.

I am going to update the "elves" page

What is the deal with elder tribe reavers? I can't find anything on them. Are they just an early version of Clan Yssret?

Should I write fluff for Elder Tribe Ravers just for fun? (seeing as reaver is misspelled raver on the wikia page)

Also, is there anything I am missing on the First Elves? As far as I can tell they have no lore except they stayed around the crash site, and later got pwned by the Khanate.
>>
>>74549275
I don't know about the creator of the Celestials, but I think they're great. I particularly like how the Morloux stiff-necked insistence on equality (at least formally) gets them into so much trouble here. it's a brilliant piece of flavor about both cultures.

>Crystal Spire[edit]
>The lost elven mothership. This ship is the size of a small city on the inside and is powered almost entirely by magic. For a reason lost to time, it crashed into this backwards land, and the surviving elves scattered to the corners of this new land to avoid the magical fallout that came from the crash. Those that didn’t were changed. The magic warped them in many ways, and gave them powers. The sanest ones left used their new magic power to seal the ship in crystal, making the spire that now stands today. But nature always finds a way, and deep in the mountain the fey still live.

>The Great Kara Khan made a pilgrimage to the spire in the late sixth age and was seemingly granted great wisdom in battle from it, as well as an obsession with venturing west to the cursed lands. Many horselords have tried to recreate this pilgrimage, but few survived and none have been blessed as Kara was.

This is good, quality lore. You made it sound like a real document and it fully immersed me. It is wonderful. Thanks for posting this!

They did to the extent that I gave them, which was the lore page on the Vashian Republic. I don't have any other one shot planned, but they are usually run when someone from our usual group can't make a game, so someone runs a one shot in their stead. I might start drip feeding them lore if they are interested, but we have a lot of content and I don't want to throw it all on them at once.

>>74552207
I've talked with the player of Evelyn, and we have worked out that these events do still happen in world. The world that I run, to be clear. She just... hops around and nobody knows. But the two last one shots did happen, to be clear.

So are Suoxi humans like Eurasiin Steppe Horselords? Since they don't seem like a direct analog to fareast Asians ethnically? Is Boros Maori? I mean I know they're their own thing, just trying to envision.

As far as I can tell Suoxi aren't really based on any real world ethnic group, at least not appearance wise. But people keep on posting Asian art for them, so you could probably assume there are a lot of mixed race Suoxi with Asian features if you want.

Boros are supposed to be light brown skinned, green eyes. Not sure what other traits they have. Probably Euro-South Asian mix or Latin American would be my guess.
>>
Marshes of Reached page says there's barbarian tribes in them. What human or human like races are in the marshes? If humans what race of humans?
>>
>>74553657
It seems to be mostly non-human tribes.

If there are humans, it will probably mostly be people from Komjatina and Radmir. Neither have been described in detail yet, but the people of Komjatina seem to be Caucasian based on their art. The creator said he would provide more details soon.

Maybe some runaways from the Treant Empire and explorers from Qi-Fu as well.

Additional elf lore/summaries for the elf page:

First Elves:

The First Elves are the elf tribes who stayed closest geographically to their downed ship beneath the Crystal Spire, as well as the closest culturally to their original off-world culture. They settled in the thin temperate zone between the Central Plains and Northedge.

Never a numerous people, they relied on traps and illusion magic to defend their clan holds. Rather than fight to the death, they usually use their magic to hide or safely leave the area.
The clan holds have been occupied by various human nations countless times in the past. The Khanate are the latest conquerors, however, some of the First Elves continue to fight a guerrilla warfare campaign. Others have simply gone into hiding or have moved north to live with their Nananuit cousins. However, a few have gone mercenary and joined the Khanate as mages.

The First Elves have albino features, with white skin, white hair, though eye color varies greatly. They often tattoo their skin the same color as their eyes.

Nananuit Elves:

The Nanauit Elves are arctic dwelling elves found in Norvia, Grendarrym, Ruskata, the Kingdom of Skrug, parts of the Khanate, and Yugr, but are mostly found in Sanukinuiq. More information can be found on the Sanukinuiq page.

Drow:

The drow are a little known elf subspecies found in Komjátina. It is believed that they have somehow adapted to life in almost perpetual darkness.
>>
>>74554759

Wood Elves:

Wood elves are servants of the Treant Empire, generally higher on the pecking order than the human vassal tribes, but lower than the dryads and treants. Most are well versed in nature magic, and a few are dryads in disguise. Much like the human vassal tribes, they are a diverse people who are split into many different tribes with different roles to play within the Treant Empire. Appearance wise they are also diverse. Relatively pure blooded elves have pale skin, and hair that varies from light reds and blondes, to vibrant brown, to pure black. Those with some human blood tend to have darker skin. Those who have been altered by Treant magic come in a wide range of forms, with green or bark like skin, and other dryad like feature not uncommon. The line between dryad and wood elf is sometimes blurry.

Elder Tribe Ravers:

Deep in the deserts of the Cursed Wasteland is a large stone platform where a small, isolated tribe of elves is said to gather around once a month to ingest hallucinogenic substances, play loud drums and horns, and dance the night away. Illusion magic and barely functional ancient technology is used to add to and amplify the noises as well as add pyrotechnics and flashing lights.

Aside from these monthly parties, or "raves" as they are known, the Raver Elves keep a low profile, travelling alone or in small groups to collect food, water, and tech. They typically have heavily tanned, often sand encrusted skin, and untamed hair bleached by sun exposure. They have a fondness for crude piercings and tattoos, and wear a mix of homespun and looted clothing.

Yep, there are humans in there. The people there would be the native pop that diden't migrate out of the swamplands. Fleshing them out is on the to-do list, but my time has been focused on making a giant list of nations that need work, which I'm about to post.

>>74554759
Nice! Can you put it on the wiki please?
>>
>>74545990
It took two hours, but I made a list of everything that needs to be worked on to flesh out the world. I know this looks like a lot, and it is. To be clear, these are all of the pages that need work until they are at a level of quality in which they can be put into a pdf. There were a bunch of pages already ready, and are not included on this list. Some pages only need a few sentences and they are good to go. Others need a lot of work. While some may balk at the amount needed to be done, I believe that completing this is the final big step of turning Gloria-Etalia into a working and playable system for anyone to pick up. Some minor things need to be done like grammar checks and figuring out what is in the ocean, but this is what is what needs to be done. I believe that working together we will be able to succeed in fleshing out all of these nations. I hope that I am right.

I know for the southeastern lizardfolk kingdoms we had an anon that claimed the whole area. Are you still around? As much as I would love an interconnected web of lizardfolk nations, there might be merit in shipping some pieces out to other anons to work on.

Ranji and Punaji and Nanji and Mun and the Gold Coast Tribes are all being worked on by one person who has posted his lore across several different threads. I'd rather not go tracking all of that down, so I'll wait for him to rear his head and post it all at once.
>>
>>74554978
Mun and Gold Coast Tribes have been posted on 4chan and the wikia, though neither follow the standard format. Putting Mun on the "no lore list" may be an oversight, though many on the "no lore" list have lore on the wikia, it is just short and unformatted. The guy who claimed the undeveloped parts of the Rams Head hasn't posted for a week, so we may have to put his turf back up for grabs at some point. Mind you, it took him a whole week to post Mun after claiming the area, so he may just be working on other things right now.

>Does Elves still need fixing after the stuff I just added?
Double checking what you added, yeah. The big thing is what they look like, but you did that and I just missed it. I'll post a discription for drow and then they are off the list!

>>74555525
We don't *need* them, but it fits in with the perperual darkness of the duchy that they would survive by adaptation like the duchy humans. I also wanted them in because I like the option it gives to explore their mechanics and design without the entire race being evil.
>>
>>74555607
>mechanics and design
The thing is those ones are too much tied to d&d and its derivatives in case of drow. And even if you ignore that Drow being evil is one of most important things about them.
They dont add anything of note, and while they would fit duchy, simply fitting in does not mean they would not be redundant.
>>
>>74555711
How is this for something of note? I'm pretty tired, so if you have any suggestions then please say them.

The drow are a little known elf subspecies found in Komjátina. It is believed that their form is a byproduct of being forced to adapt to life in almost perpetual darkness by magic. They are not an evil race, but rather one that has a pessimistic and melancholy look on like. For drow living in one place or doing the same thing for too long, each day becomes monotonous, drab, and boring. This can often drive a drow to mental problems, with the most common one being depression. To fend this off, drow form bonds with other mortals by talking with them. Drow will most often be seen in a group, talking amongst themselves about any topic that comes to mind. Spend enough time around a drow, and they will soon know everything about you and you everything about them. A drow can also sate their boredom by adventuring, but drow are rarely seen outside of the Duchy because they believe that life is more or less the same everywhere so there is no point in going anywhere.

Drow skin ranges from grey to jet-black. Hair is either black, grey, or white, although other colors are possible for drow half elves. Like most elves, they do not grow bodily hair such as bards or arm hair. They have very large eyes to soak up the light rays of their environment, and can come in the same colors that elves have. Most commonly blue, silver, and amber. Because they are adapted to a sunless environment they have difficulty seeing in the sun, finding it nearly impossible without cover for their eyes. They are slender like other elves, and usually range from 5 ½ - 6 ½ feet tall, but other heights are sometimes achieved.

Mermaid lore dump. I tried to capture all the unused ideas from previous threads in case people wanted to use them:

Mermaids:

The merfolk are an aquatic race with a humanoid upper body, and the lower body of a fish. They are found in many parts of Gloria-Etalia, but are often overlooked. Some believe they were created by the mysterious god known as Quilio-Fil'zón. Merfolk seem to have far more females than males, though the reason for this is unknown. As a result, merfolk are often referred to as mermaids. Merfolk come in several regional varieties listed below:

The Devout:

The Devout are said to have once been island dwelling humans who were transformed by Quilio-Fil'zón. They live in the deep oceans west of the Storm Islands, and are known to be hostile to outsiders for poorly understood religious reasons. Little is known of their appearance since they wear bulky black and white clothing.

Westrasi Mermaids:

Westrasi Mermaids live along the western coast of the continent and occasionally appear in the Westrasi Sea. They have pale skin, green scales, and either red, blond, brown, or black hair. Most tribes are shy and elusive, though a few have set up trading relations with coastal peoples, trading pearls and fish for tools and trinkets. Other tribes are hostile for unknown reasons. They have a rune based written language which is also used by some Storm Islanders.

Northedge Mermaids:

Northedge Mermaids live off the northern coast of the Northedge Region. They have white skin, grey or black hair, grey or grey-green scales. They are sometimes spotted basking on rocks on the surface on sunny days, but usually avoid surface dwellers. They sometimes rescue drowning surface dwellers or play harmless pranks on fishermen and seal hunters though. Some associate them with the troll god Skala.

184 KB JPG
>>74556423

Deep Ones:

Deep Ones are a mermaid subrace said to live deep beneath the ocean. Possessing hair, skin, and scales of varying shades of black, bioluminescent markings, and giant glowing eyes, they look little like the merfolk of other regions. Their very existence is debated by many human scholars, though a few preserved corpses are said to exist. They usually keep far beneath the surface, though they occasionally capsize small boats.

Rainbow Mermaids:

Rainbow Mermaids are found on the southern and eastern coasts of the continent, from the Celestial Empire to Qi-Fu. Most live in the deep sea, but a few live in coastal swamps, and even in desert oases in the Worldscar, Celestial-Tnz'qran, and Radmir (no one is sure how they got there). Their hair and scales usually match in color while their skin is either pale or a paler version of their scales. They come in almost every color imaginable, and color doesn't seem to be tied to lineage, allowing even small tribes to have dozens of colors. Rainbow Mermaids are considered the most civilized, building underwater cities, farming food, and even using a primitive form of water magic.

River Mermaids:

The territories of River Mermaids overlap with the territories of the Rainbow Mermaids somewhat in that they are found along the jungle coastal regions of the Central Plains and Ram's Head, though they are more numerous in these territories and can be found in rivers hundreds of kilometres from the ocean. They have pale skin, mud brown scales, brown or black hair, and are sometimes coated with slime much like an eel. Unlike other mermaid races, they are extroverted and fearless, and can often be found asking for food scraps and annoying dock workers and fishermen with banal conversation (they almost always know how to speak the local surface dweller tongue in the regions they live). They are too lazy to gather things to trade, and as a result are regarded as useless by those that "rule" over them.

>There is a hospitality lineage of "Guest" that gives protective effects for the common used memetic/spirit patterns used by Snow Elves. This is easy to acquire by everyday interactions but has to be ranked up to protect from the esoteric and private Snow Elf juju.

>Voluntarily taking a curse from the Snow Elf Spirits on behalf of the locals has a hereditary result on the taker. Results vary depending on the curse, but the usage of troll tail decorations as a sign of status among Snow Elves implies that some curses required regenerative powers to survive. The cursed lineages can gain an equivalent level favor, but only with the village that it took the curse from. Calling in the favor dispels the effect and signs of the curse and places it back on the village in reduced form.

I don't think races should have cultures. Its not like there is a single culture for all of humanity so it doesn't really make sense for any one race (that isn't a hivemind or very low pop) to have a mono-culture.

> Lead Shells - the psychotic Cults of the Wasteland

There is not many sentient life in the Irradiated Wasteland as plainly very little life could possibly exist there. Though as radiation levels fell, specs of land have become inhabitable again. These Radless Oasis are inhabited by either rare Rainbow Mermaids who no one knows how they got there or by Leadshells.

Leadshells are either "Sacrifice" T'lc-kha or Technobarbarians sent into the Wasteland to find ancient artifacts or scavenge for metals. Even if both are fully clad in Lead, the radiation still slowly consumes them slowly mutating them and rendering them insane.

The only people who can stop this process are Radmages, mages seemingly capable to mold and bend the shape and conzentration of the curse to their will. Arround said mages the Lead Shell Cults form kidnapping people from outside the wasteland to sacrifice them to the Curse.

Trolls are also a common member of said cults as thanks to their natural regeneration they can live relatively freely inside the wasteland in spite of the curse.

Lead Shells are, likely the most despicable group of people on the planet. Happilu sacrificing innocents to the wasteland's curse. Pumping themselves full of narcotics and not shying away from either necromancy or cannibalism.

The instinctive nature of a Gargoyle is to protect. As a human wishes for fame or safety a Gargoyle picks a target and then choose to protect them. Sometimes such granting of protection can be seen as very much so random bu other races.

There she was in a cage, a young Half-Elven child. Her skin pitch black, her hair and eyes a light gray. The Gargoyle observed as the Araknea Caravan traveled North to the tents of the local Khar, for another slave auction.

Maybe there was an odd spark in the girls eye? Maybe it was some sort of dormant instinct kicking in, but the Gargoyle flew down and snatched the crate. Like a magpie picking up a dropped ring. The two were gone before the Araknea could give chase though their gurgling and hissing could be heard for miles as they frantically searched the area.

The girl now found herself in a cave her cage's bard being bent by a beastly looking creature. She was terrified, though her reaction was muted. After all she spent months if not years among monsters. Eating raw meat prepared only by being injected with digestive juices. Her mouth was covered in scars, from eating said meat as it dissolved her flesh.

As the bars bent she slowly climbed out, walking a few steps only to turn around and run back into her cage. The Gargoyle only watched. This would repeat a few times. Each time with her venturing further. She likely would have turned more adventurous if she had more peaceful day, but a half-elf of such rare race is a prized possession. As such the Araknea returned.

5 of them surrounding the entrance of the cave, hissing and growling. The gargoyle didn't but the girl did understand: "Come here.". It was a simple command. One she followed.

The Gargoyle did not intervene, he is there to protect, not to choose for her. The girl started shaking and looking around frantically. Then turned around and ran towards the Gargoyle as the spiders grabbed her. Their clawed hands ripping into her flesh.

> Retcon: Girl is pure Drow
The claws suddenly went limp and she ran free, but now as she looked there was no Gargoyle there. The Gargoyle's stone sword has turned an onyx black as he hacked off the 7 Araknea hands still stuck limply in her back.

The girl was relieved the Gargoyle was still there she collapsed and and started crying paralyzed by fear. To her after all the Araknea were beasts impossible to defeat. They killed her parents and village. They enslaved her and no one thus far could stand in their way. But as she kept cowering the sounds arachne shrieking were slowly dying down. Silence didn't come until dawn. It is then when she raised her eyes to see an Archne head decapitated in the Gargoyles hand. His stone body covered in cracks. As dawn came she ran out to him. The sun filled the cracks and his stone body once again became whole, the girl's body couldn't stand the sun though. The Gargoyle noticed to late that she was clearly in pain and before they rushed into the cave her skin was covered in blisters.

And so there was now a lone man of stone left to take care of an Elven girl out of flesh? Flesh pierced by claws and and burning in the sun? He did not know what he should do. He wrapped her up in cloth and flew. Gargoyles did not care for money, but they knew that mortals do, so he took what little glass the Arachnea had.

The steppe is wide and open as such it is easy to spot anything especially when in flight. Still it was not easy to concentrate as the girl was having a nightmare talking in her sleep a tongue the Gargole did not know.

The flying stone creature kept thinking about, what he should do. The peopel of the Khanate would return a stolen slave while the Children of Itza would likely not provide any care without a rare gift in exchange. Then he remembered the odd ears the child had, ears one would only find among Elves. The white ones of the Crystal Mount. It not being it is there where the Gargoyle chose to go.

The land around the Crystal Spire once surrounded by cities now was like one great city of Tents filled with First Elves adopting their conqueror's nomadic ways and with aspiring horselords wishing to go on Pilgrimage to the spire.

Still this land has a good level of autonomy, so it is unlikely they would look for escaped slaves. A Gargoyle being a rare sight, as soon as he landed Elves would gather around the stone giant. Elven women giggling pulling on the horns, poking the stone. Nothing he would care about, only when an Elven maiden attempted to unravel the cloth protecting the child did the Gargoyle tell her off aggressively.

Some panic struck the elves as they did not expect the stone man to speak their tongue, and carry as what looked like an charred corpse of an elf! Quickly guards would appear riding pointing their spears down from their Steppe Horses. The Gargoyle would comply as he knew the Elves to be sensible when it came to enforcing the law. As such he agreed to show them the child as long as it is in shadow.

Seeing it confusion was followed by concern as the wounds were deep and the child had severe sunburn. Quickly medics and mages were called to see to it.

The Gargoyle did not fear to tell them the kid was a runaway slave, for Elves saw nothing as a greater shame than to see an Elf enslaved by a lesser race.

Still the skin color and general appearance of this Elf were odd. The only other elves they know off except themselves are the Bronze Skinned ones in the North and the Red Skinned ones in the Treant Empire. There are myths of Human-Looking Elves living beyond the world Spine, but all know how westerasi Humans look like and they certainly don't have coal-black skin.

To see if there is more lost brethren-tribes the Elves agreed to take in the lost Drow girl and allow the Gargoyle to stay as a caregiver. The money the Gargoyle had being enough for a good tent and some supplies. They would be under the supervision of Clan Geor, where the Gargoyle would be employed as a guard.

He was convinced to take the job as a way to repay the debt for "the Cloth of a Celestial maiden" that was given to him. An expensive piece of transparent cloth noble ladies of the Celestial Empire put on themselves as it stops the sun from Darkening their skin. This cloth should be able to protect the girl's skin too.

I will try to finish the story the day after tomorrow or so, as I'll be busy the next few days and don't want to rush this one.

Gonna do some lore about the Dead Alchemists Society but the wiki is missing some lore U eed for research.

There was like a magical library/academy around the Merchant Empire or something I think. Can someone link it please

I think there were some Supprian Philosopher schools. I mean if there is no magic University, you can write it up.

Check the Supprian Alliance lore first though.

Here is that one ecinev university that had lore, i think you meant that one. If you need something else please tell.

Mendan University

Although being called an "university", it is actually a community of teachers, scholars, alchemists and magicians occupying a whole cluster of islands, each researching and teaching their respective fields of study at their homes, halls or even in the open. Many teachers teach the same fields, so they compete for students, leading to rivalries, espionage and even sabotage. The district also has three libraries which together have about 350,000 manuscripts, codexes, lead and clay tablets, old scrolls and much more. There are laboratories, workshops, dorms, guild halls and schools for over 10,000 students, many which come from other cultures and far lands. Here one can learn rethoric, singing, swordsmanship, poetry, several living and dead languages, magic, literature, ethics, law, zoology, cartography, medicine, painting, writing and reading, astronomy, astrology, alchemy and metaphysics. The university also has a grand hall of curiosities, artifacts and relics from all over the world, and it always seeks to expand its collection. Finally, there is a small zoo with such beasts as parrot wyverns, a new litter of akhluts, shadow dolphins and even a scarcrawler.

Added mermaid lore:

Merfolk live about 50 - 80 years, as with age it becomes harder for a merfolk to swim and defend themselves. Merfolk in captivity have been reported to live as long as 110 years old, but they become increasingly decrepit when they reach these years. They are usually 12 - 15 feet long, but shorter heights have been reported for River Mermaids and Rainbow Mermaids. They usually weigh from 120 - 200 lbs, with their tails being used to store fat and nutrition.

With this, I think that they are good to be taken off of the list! Although more lore is always good.

Cipher Blaze and Ma Knaat are two of the most famous and powerful mages of the West coast.

Born in the poor slums surrounding the Manden University isles, as children they would run petty scams on the wealthy students and tourists while assembling scabs of knowledge to increase their own magical prowess. After pickpocketing an old man, said man caught them and was revealed as Grand Mage Arkun, teacher at the greatest of the Manden Schools of Magic. Impressed by the talent he saw in the youth, Arkun took them in as students and they both quickly became some of the most skilled mages on the islands. Ma mastered Dream Magic, able to see alternate worlds and possibilities through the power of the mind. Cipher became a master of war magic, pioneering spells used by the Merchant Navy . Overtime, as their status grew, the once friends would grow distant. Cipher grew distasteful with the excess of the Merchant Empire and its evils, especially after seeing several civilian burne by spells he created. Ma Knatt became more ingrained in the University's Literate Elite. Growing rich and famous as a teacher and author of magic knowledge. This grew to a head when Cipher Blaze set fire to an entire Merchant Empire war Fleet and stole a boat .

Cipher would become a revolutionary and terrorists, assembling magical users to attack and overthrow nations that were seen as oppressive. The ultimate goal would be to replace a “Brutal world of mortal flesh and terror” with an enlightened rule of Philosopher Magearchies.

Eventually Grand mage Arkun died of natural causes and Ma Knatt was seen as the natural successor to lead Manen Universities top school of Magic.
>>
>>74563174

After some years, in which Ma Knatt taught students and brilliant as Orguu the Omnipotent and Master Ci-Xa-Ru, they were approached by their old friend. CIpher Blaze revealed that their old master was part of the Dead Alchemy Society, and that with his death, Ma had been chosen to join the Council of 13.

CIpher had used the position on the council to access resources and magics to back revolutions across the globe. Ma Knaat still disavowed such savage violence but still took the spot on the council both to increase their own magical knowledge and to keep an eye on an old Friend.

Both were made Queen’s Mages and entrusted with mandates by Balthazar the Enlightened. Ma Knatt transformed their school and many others in Menden University as seeder for the DAS. Promising mages and alchemists would often be sent through manufactured trials to test skill, with the greatest being entered into the society by Grand Mage Ma Knatt.

Cipher Blaze would wage war through the lands destabilizing regions and gaining access to war magics for use in the defense of the DAS.

Balthazar knows both mages have their own goals, but was wise enough to let their overlapping interests serve the needs of the DAS.

The dream magic is of the same type behind the Maid Barbarians "nightmares as different adventures" shtick and the Dreaming liches ability to to see alternate universes. I will leave it to others more into that side of the verse to break down how that kinda magic works if any.

War Magic just means CIpher is good as figuring out ways to blow shit up and set it on fire, but with magic.

>>74563740
If you're asking how hwachas work, they're basically just long, rocket-propelled arrows. However, there are also flamethrowers used by the Ecinevean League that are powered using a secretion by a certain type of eel.

This feels a little bit too Forgotten Realms, with all-powerful NPCs seeking running the show behind the scenes.
>>
>>74564059
I think that the idea of having some super powerful NPC mages is a good one, but I don't think that they should have massive political power or the ability to influence revolutions or the course of nations or anything of that sort. I would say they would be better off as just a scholarly society.
>>
>>74564119
You have trouble explaining how this scholarly society is incapable of influencing the course of nations when one of them is capable of destroying an entire fleet of military vessels on his own, and his goal is, word for word:
>to replace a “Brutal world of mortal flesh and terror” with an enlightened rule of Philosopher Magearchies.
And he has, specifically:
>used the position on the council to access resources and magics to back revolutions across the globe.
This is a group of world-changing characters that have the power and the motivation to topple countries. Considering that the project is built on people creating a diverse world full of weird and wonderful nations, I hope you can understand why this would be a problem.
>>
>>74564059
Well I deliberately left the influence a bit open and not too large. The idea is more that it's an assembly of people who already are big wigs as opposed to an illuminati type group. Like a magic Davos almost.

And also if its purposeful we can make sure no one is in CHARGE of a .major faction. A prominent doctor, a teacher of one school of many, a terrorist like the idea should be they have influence in specific areas but they dont secretly run the world or any nations. (Which as I understand it, wouldnt even be there main goal anyway.)
>>
>>74564284
Cipher is built as a Magneto type. Someone who goes around blowing shit up as an antagonistic force but they very deliberately haven't taken down any nations as of yet.

It's a villian faction of which I have been told we needed more of.

Reading past threads I stumbled upon the concept of Celestian elemental system and alchemy. So I wanna know, is alchemy just a fancy name for chemistry or it has legit magic-like properties? Are we just making acid or can we make potions?
>>
>>74566088
I would imagine it's just basic chemistry, but it seems advanced to the rest of the world. After all, how much of the Renaissance world knew how to make acid?
>>
>>74563363
>The dream magic is of the same type behind the Maid Barbarians "nightmares as different adventures"
Ok to be clear, Maid Barbarian's dream things is basically reality warping voodoo. I don't really want it anywhere near the cannon of GE as it is OP. Because she has this, her "true" self would be either a god, angel, or someone from the dawn that was messed up by Gloria-Etalia or radiation. I also think that the council members might have too many things that they are doing at once where it makes their characters feel a little unrealistic. Kaza Khan for example, is a leader of one or several tribes, a master plant drudist, and sits on a council of a bunch of evil people hundreds of miles and a mountain range away. Personally, I think that the council should be master mages who have spent their whole lives endlessly studying. But that comes with the trade off that they haven't done much or anything outside of studying. Make them less powerful, and it makes sense that they would have other skills. This is just my personal opinion however, and you are free to take it as you will.

I would also like to point out that they are called the Dead Alchemy Society, as with their current lineup a name change might be in order. Only one dead guy and not a lot of alchemy after all.

I would say depends on the system/what you want to do with the setting.

I put Kaza in the line up because as they were established to headhunt notable wizards, and Kaza was a notable wizard in a position of power in a major nation that they would seek them out. During the Uruz conquest of the Ni Jeong Dynatsy, Khanate forces were resisted by the "Flower Forces" an insurgent group of Yellow Mages that received training and funding from Mei-Liz.

These Masters of their native soil that were skilled in Destruction Magic would ruin Tarrow fields that fed the Khanates horses and disrupt the illusions that were key to Khanaate tactics.

Kaza Khan, only a few years into their reign over the former Treant lands was tasked with taking these mystic insurgents to heel.

The war raged viciously and brutally across Eastralia, and as Kaza Khan's forces interacted more and more with the ethnic Qifu mages rumor reached the mage's ears of a secret society across the west coast of mages and alchemists united in purpose for knowledge.

As the conflict ended in brutal genocide Kaza came to know this organization as the Dead Alchemy Society.

Back home, as Kaza's mystic experiments developed over the decades, they used what resources they had to look more into this organization, Kaza was eventually recruited , pitching access to the mystic knowledge gained in the Uruz conquests as a great boon for the organization . Kaza rose through the ranks of the DAS over the past ten years or so until they were chosen to fill a new vacancy on the Council of 13 than opened up on mysterious circumstances.

As the youngest and newest member of the Council, Kaza isn't trusted by many of the other members of the DAS. Balthazar pushed for their journey as an attempt to handle them as much as Kaza joined to get access to more dark magic. Currently Kaza mostly "pays membership dues" by sharing mystic research they find the least useful with the others, in exchange they have gained accessed to a wider breath of botanical specimens than the Khanate itself is willing to alot.

It depends on how powerful the society is as an organization. If it's mostly a bunch of older guys writing letters to each other about the study of magic (and not usually meeting each other or acting actually in concert), it's not vastly overpowered.

That's how I saw it yeah. Its essentially a midevil discord group was how I saw it.. Like individual members are probbaly decently powerful just on the factor of being leaders in their field but they arent like secretly running the world. Ma Knaat is doing is Dumbledore/Professor X fantasies, Kaza Khan is cutting up goblins for study while running a tenth of a nation into the ground, Dr Dexter is grafting Oni wings to their back and shit and so on.

My attempts at standardizing the Drache marshes

Name: Marshes of Drache
Population: 2% Ogre, 12% Araknea, 18% Beastmen, 18% Lizardfolk, 25% Human, 22% Goblin, 3% Undead
Capital: n/a
Government: Self governing tribes and settlements
Culture: There is no single culture amongst all the groups in the Marshes of Drache. However there are some cultural trends common to most groups. There is a sense of connection towards nature, a sense of not wasting resources and a desire for strong offspring.
Religion: Many gods of war, hunt or nature of similar flavors unique to small settlements or groups of people.
Organization: The marshes of Drache is split up into many small tribes and individuals. There are no borders in these marshes as those lines could change on any given day.
Origin: After the collapse of the Drache Empire in year (insert here), this land quickly became an anarchaic husk of what it used to be. After thousands of years the last vestiges of it's former civilization have long vanished.
Diplomacy: Many are right to see this place as lawless. Few ever interact with the region due to the lack of infrastructure and deadly inhabitants. Aside from that, the marshes are buffered by a mountainous region and the Duchy of Komjátina to the North, and cannibal cults and necroswampers to the West, making land annexation by the neighboring powers impossible. Annexation from the shore has been tried, but monsoons and typhoons make resupplies and availability of help inconsistent. Settlers have tried to fend for themselves but either they become absorbed by a friendly tribe or killed by warbands. The occasional adventurer shows up on behalf of a noble, usually to secure an endemic species that they fancy.
(1/2)
>>
>>74568322
Geography: The Marshes of Drache is a long stretch of wetland, filled with woody shrubs and trees endemic to the region. The trees are sparser compared to the shrubs. There are some hills to the west and the elevation is higher towards the mountains.
Economy: There is no standard coin in this region, and goods are normally exchanged for goods. Even then trade is uncommon as tribes tend to keep to themselves.

Its first part of age of antiquity. Tomorow i'l post the rest. Is this good or should it be changed, or expanded upon? Also since next one will be about orda, should they subjigate celestials Monogol style? Or not?

Treant Empire was always evergrowing force in southern Gloria-Etalia. First they enslaved and subjigated human tribes to their will, and then feed them propaganda and religious dogma throught the decades on enslavement, until there was almost no strife againt treants in first tribes. Then Treants decided that humans are taming nature too fast, and if they don’t do something humanity might grow too extended and shatter balance of nature.
And then War of Fire Rose started.
Treant empire around beginning of the year 1200 begun their expansion outside. Even thought agressors took largest amount of land in 1350, just before unification of First Orde, it took another five centuries of almost constant war until forces of Orde, Celestial empire, and Rams Head coalition of tribes and nations led by Radmir until Treants were utterly defeated. Their armies shattered, forests turned to ash, and magicks put to sleep.
But it wasn’t the total defeat that collation forces wanted, instead it was peace of convenience after great betrayal of the First Orde

>Plenty of nations that could use it though!
It'd work well with either the flavor of the Westrasian Sea area (Vashian Republic would seem like a great candidate) or with Ecinev. Both of those have got big chunks of Rome in their lorefaggotry (in the latter case, because I wrote some of it).
Actually, we could split the ideas of sports into two, with the Vashians having a great Hippodrome for horse (and chariot?) races, and Ecinev having a great Colosseum where the cream of the empire's physicality demonstrates their martial prowess against beasts and so on.

There's room for a story about someone who comes from a nowhere gold coast tribe and becomes a mighty gladiator and power broker within Ecinev. Set it a decent amount of time before the present day so there's no chance of PCs running into the characters concerned, at least in a "meaningful encounter" sort of way.
>>
>>74568943
Given the way the Treants work, they probably held what's now Mun. That would explain why the Amazons were pushed to where they are now, for example. It also probably wasn't really held for all that long, not enough for a truly resilient Treant ecosystem to be built. Only a firestorm or lightning wall (the latter being a very rare spell indeed) will push them back if they build up that much of a toehold.
>>
>>74569638
The second Orde never fully subjugated the Celestials.

The Celestials were in a warring states style period while it existed and the second orde controlled the north (which is ethnically Tnz) while raiding the fuck out of the south until it basically rolled over and gave dosh.

https://gloriaetalia.fandom.com/wiki/Celestial_Empire_-_Dan_Dio_Suoxi

The leaders who kept getting ORDED are memorialized as the 9 golden heads.

If you are talking the first Orde and pre Xi-On Celestia that stuff is so long ago the details are basically near myth.

Good story there anon! I'm eager to read more about it!

Couldn't help having a chuckle as it was said that Arakneas aren't that big of a problem if they are not left alone... and now they are owning caravans all on their own! Nothing bad with what you have written! It's simply funny that in the setting some nation(s) is/are already dropping the ball! Plus you gain points in my heart for using them and making them more relevant!

>>74567269
As one of the anons who contributed to the Necroswampers, when I was making a Lichlord I had variety and scaling in mind. By that I mean I did my best to make them as unique as possible, as an individual as well as a lich, and to scale their influence to their region and their neighbors. Instead of reaching out of their territory, you could tell instead how they fight against other Lichlords (or not get their teeth kicked in and get swallowed into another lord's domain). What I'm trying to say is that while referencing other nations and even interact from time to time is great, perhaps you should focus inward?

Well it is my advice, but I found out people on /tg/ can make great stuff on their own. Have fun writing friend!

I'm sure they'll come back, as soon as we make a breakthrough and have it published as the new OP!

Hte'Orde - additional notes:

Geography (additional notes):

The City of Engrit is an old, crumbling city that has changed hands countless times over the centuries. It sits across the Sewalut River from Swe'yus held City of Kanna Knot, and just north of the Ivory Kingdom town of Hoi Nai. In a more stable political situation, all three communities would be part of the same city (they are even connected by massive bridges), but instead, Kanna Knot has switched loyalties between Swe'yus, Ivory Kingdom, and Qwwl'Orde several times in the past century, while Engrit and Hoi Nai have remained loyal to Hte'Orde and the Ivory Kingdom respectively. Compared to the wealthy, clean(ish) streets of Kanna Knot, and the vibrant but sleazy clubs and drug dens of Hoi Nai, Engrit is definitely the slum of these three interconnected communities. Home to struggling craftsmen, dirt cheap warehouses, low cost bunk houses for laborers working in the other communities, and underused docks, Engrit manages to feel both crowded yet partially abandoned. The current Hte'Han rules from a poorly maintained keep known as the "Eternal Palace". He maintains a needlessly large, but poorly equipped and poorly paid army to discourage invasion and maintain order in the city, but most of the soldiers merely loiter around since open crime is rare, and the threat of invasion is low.

The City of Vallum is built along the western side of a mighty bridge, where the Nian Do-Qwwl'Orde road crosses the Sewalut River. It is an ancient, dreary, small city barely worthy of the name. A small army is maintained here in case Qwwl'Orde tries to invade, and there is decent money to be made selling goods to caravans heading east and west, however, there is little else of interest here.

The City of Tristabool sits on the border of Hte'Orde and K'elle'Orde. An ancient, decaying city that is now partially submerged within the Ketl Swamp thanks to Treant magic, it is the focal point of many wars between the Tnz'qran and the Treant Empire. Things are quiet for now aside from the odd skirmish, though many soldiers from Hte'Orde and K'elle'Orde still garrison the dry part of the city. The submerged portion has been abandoned to river mermaids and scattered followers of the Frog God and the River Goddess.

Recent Events:

4989 - A new Hte'Han ascends the throne after the old one is assassinated. A surly, bitter man in his late fifties, it seems unlikely he will be able to pull Hte'Orde out of its decades of stagnation.

4992 - The fourth son of the Han causes a major scandal by renouncing his position to join a Naga Brood-Pit.

4994 - An outbreak in unusual behavior is attributed to someone dumping large amounts of narcotics into several public wells. Followers of the River Goddess are blamed.

4996 - A brief war with Qssl'Orde is inconclusive despite aid from K'elle Orde, and use of mercenaries from the Kingdom of Ivory, Qwwl'Orde, and the Broken-Chain.

4998 - Foreign adventurers rob one of the largest and best defended warehouses in Engrit of several crates of valuable artifacts, and a dozen bags of high grade narcotics. The adventurers are never caught, sparking several diplomatic disputes.

>Also since next one will be about orda, should they subjigate celestials Monogol style? Or not?

Celestial Empire is stablished to have been civilized and more or less stagnant for a long time. I don't think it's good to have them be conquered by an Orde. There's an orde native to their lands that's fiercely loyal to the Empire even. Read their wiki. It seems more like ordes and empire are in a very long stalemate with neither being able to expand over the other

>>74576651
I don't see how that adds to Imperial Lore. Ancient empire older than most western nations by a milennia fits their theme well. Being conquered by "savages" would mean empire would need to be less snooty about outsiders are they de facto lost to them at some point, but we stablished that they are still very much taken by a superiority complex regarding other nations.
>>
>>74576758
Chinks were conquered by everyone around them and yet still have superiority complex. Superiority is often misplaced. Also dont you think its silly to have nation undefeated in 4 milenia od existence?
>>
>>74576883
This. Make it so that they have misconstrued history and deliberately ignore the parts about being conquered.
>>
>>74576883
Celestial have at least nine huge defeats from the ordes and 3 defeats from the glutton before they finally best him. And that's with the little lore we have. Of course there were more. I don't think "conquered and humiliated by" equals "defeated by". Being conquered by a nomadic horde would change their culture in a major way. Specially how the orde is from a different ethnicity and the empire ruling class is about suoxi racial purity. It would be a hard sell the orde had them under their thumbs and somehow when it was over they still maintained that trait, for example. It's also highly unlikely the emperor divinity and highky bureaucratic structures would have survived orde dominance.

And if we are are talking meta, look at the size of ordes in the map. Does adding Celestial empire to their landmass in the pass adds anything to the celestial empire or the orde aside from copying mongol-Chinese dynamics? Orde already has enough territory to be big nomadic empire. Celestial already have enough reasons to be xenophobic ancient empire. Whats to be gained by having orde having controlled almost half of the continent in some point in the past.
>>
>>74577185
That's not how conquering works. A conqueror doesn't let you ignore them. They want your lands and people for something. Your country wouldn't be the same after being taken over for a foreign conqueror in a pre modern society
>>
>>74576883
I mean you gonna pull that argument while advocating for another success for a mongolian empire that somehow survive a thousand years and was never conquered itself?
>>
>>74577185
>Have humans living with them that looks like orde descendant
>Oh, ordes originated on celestial land
>Orde territory is our sovereign right
>>
Are we talking contested land grabs on both sides or the celestial capital being overtaken at some point in this conquering? I find it hard to believe that the celestial border has remained stagnant or only growing throughout all this time.
>>
>>74577212
>It would be a hard sell the orde had them under their thumbs and somehow when it was over they still maintained that trait, for example. It's also highly unlikely the emperor divinity and highky bureaucratic structures would have survived orde dominance.

Why? As already stated, the Mongols conquered China for a hundred years and they maintained their cultural identity, if anything it was the Mongols who were more influenced by the Chinese, not the other way around.

>And if we are are talking meta, look at the size of ordes in the map. Does adding Celestial empire to their landmass in the pass adds anything to the celestial empire or the orde aside from copying mongol-Chinese dynamics? I agree with the previous poster that it feels more unreal that the Celestial Empire should've somehow existed completely unbroken for so many millennia. At least with this conquest, you're breaking up their history a bit, giving it some bumps and flavour.

>>74577233
Not all conquests are as complete as you present them. Some cultural influence is gaurantied obviously, but not all conquerors are are Europeans Colonialists who completely upturn the land. Some are satisfied to just force their subjects to pay tribute. Again, the culture of the lands the Mongols invade remained relatively unscathed, it was the Mongols who were more influenced by both the Chinese and Arabs.
>>
>>74577459
>I agree with the previous poster that it feels more unreal that the Celestial Empire should've somehow existed completely unbroken for so many millennia. At least with this conquest, you're breaking up their history a bit, giving it some bumps and flavour.

More unreal than !not-mongol existing at all for more than a thousand years as a massive empire enduring and undefeated?
>>
>>74576651
The use of the word "humiliate" here and the tone of tbe discussion lead me to believe that anons are just wanting to flex their favorite nations over nations they don't like. It is a pretty heavy handed term, yes

>>74577512
>More unreal than !not-mongol existing at all for more than a thousand years as a massive empire enduring and undefeated?
That's not the impression I ever got. It was more my impression that the Tnz'qran aren't truly united and they normally are just a bunch of scattered nomadic clans, then every once in a while someone will unite them all to go conquering and whether they successfully build an empire or not, they always fall apart again after a century at most.

>>74577597
Not that anon but I just personally just want some flavour in the world. If it's !not-China then I think it's fair they have some low points.
>>
>>74569638
I see my question about what to do with Orde and Celestials caused little artgument.
To appeal to both sides i think it would be best if Orda did win, and conquer part of celestial empire, but not even century after first orda falls apart, and while some raiders keep their possesions taken from empire for some time after colapse, by the second half of age of antiquity celestials more or less hold borders that are kept to this day.
Does this sound good to everyone?

What are the low points of the Not!Mongols then? If Not!China gets conquered by the Not!Mongols in the distant past, is it safe to say that the Not!Mongols have become little more than vassal states of Not!China in the modern era, with almost no influence thanks to their constant infighting and lack of infrastructure? That reflects reality, just like the conquest of the Not!China by the Not!Mongols does.
>>
>>74578038
>What are the low points of the Not!Mongols then?
Well basically 95% of the time when they’re little more than scattered tribes.
>>
>>74578038
If you're expecting them to all pay tribute then they wouldn't.
>>
>>74578121
If it's a choice between paying tribute or outright conquest, they would.
>>
>>74578164
They have one of the Ordes buffering for the rest of them. The further they go out from dedicated infrastructure the harder it is to grab coin from them.
>>
>>74578164
I think it’s less a question of will and more a question logistics. It’s kinda hard to levy taxes on a bunch violent disjointed nomadic horse lords in a land basically devoid of infrastructure. Just because some would, doesn’t mean their neighbors will.
>>
>>74578237
>>74578235
China managed it with Mongolia, and we're going for direct Not!China and Not!Mongolia parallels, aren't we? But I can also accept Not!Mongolia and its offshoot hordes being completely irrelevant and lacking any real power in the modern era, which also reflects reality.
>>
>>74578346
I may be slightly off kilter here but I sense some bitterness towards the Tnz’qran from you.
>>
1d4chan is back up
>>
>>74578442
You're actually detecting bitterness towards the excuse of "it's what happened with the real life parallels, therefore it has to be what happens with our setting." It's a cheap argument that scores cheap points and saps the fun out of the setting.

If the primary argument in favor of the Orde conquest of the Suoxi region is that it reflects the real world, then it also reflects the real world if the nomadic hordes end up spiraling into powerless irrelevance. It's also sets a bad precedent. Who are the Not!Ottomans who should have conquered half of the Not!Mediterranean by now? Who are the Not!Italians who should be in the process of unifying the rest of the Not!Mediterranean? Suddenly all of the fun of world-building disappears as we shift our focus to "maintaining real life parallels" instead.

So if we're going to be using real life parallels as an argument, either accept the consequences of that and apply it universally (instead of just for the benefit of one country over another), or realize that you might be making a mistake.

>>
>>74576651
Well the Celestial timeline goes as follows

>Various petty Kingdoms form in the river valley
>Several of these are unified under a single Kingdom that split in two after one generation
>600 years later the Empire forms
>The empire starts conquering various Souxi states , gets defeated by the Second Orde and then conqueres the Northern half of the empire after the second orde collapses.

So how that overlaps with Orde 1 is currently unknown.
>>
>>74579005
Wasn't the leader of said organization chosen to become a lich? With other members of the inner circle being undeads like the guy who's a ghost and can produce poisons without risk for himself, or the other one who became a flesh golem?
>>
>>74577212
The way I saw it the First Orde was like an ancient egypt or bronze age empire that basically ruled its own territory but had strong cultural and economic domination over its surroundings. the Celestial "empire" was prob just a relatively small kingdom at this point maybe Dan Su-Do or one of their successors.

Its been established than the Dandio'Orde wasnt conquered until the Second Orde collapsed and also that the Celestial Empire was way smaller in the past (It was around half its current size at the start of the Xi-On era, which overlapped with the Second Orde)
>>
>>74577459
>unreal that the Celestial Empire should've somehow existed completely unbroken
Well if we rememver from WAYYYYY back its because the "Celestial Empire" is more or less a collection of interconnected independent states that are united by common culture and geography, Like say India and Greece were for most of history. Sure the modern Celestial Empire likes to claim an eternal super state but the Celestial Empire wasnt conquered in the past because it really didn't exist.

The area is a bunch of ethnic Souxi tribes, pretty kingdoms and such that "unified" into small blocks a few times in the ancient past but the vast subcontinent empire only showed up a few centuries ago. Like the term "Emperor" itself only showed up once the Continent was fully dominated after the Second Orde Collapsed and they moved up north
>>
>>74578038
The Tnz got so fucked up after the Second Orde fell there is only one independent horde and its run by literal /pol/-tier cuckposters (and itself propped up by foreign powers)

A GOBLIN fucking beat them.
>>
>>74578790
In this regards I REALLY disliked how European westrasi got. The Roman Empire and Mediterranean expies are to 1 for 1 as is the Colonialism. The only real departure from IRL history is the white Polynesians which is... something else it is. (An then they just set up ANOTHER trade empire)
>>
>>74579192
It seemed to me they just make the leader a lich by the other members when there is a council vacancy, it was left vague but it seemed to me like they arent all liches since they only offered the lich process when they invited Balthazar to lead them , not when they wanted him to join as a rank and file member.
>>
>>74579372
Except there's several Westrasi nations which are far more than just "Not!Europe." Yes, there's a European foundation but are you telling me that you didn't expect that in a fantasy setting? There's not a single country in this setting which isn't built on the foundation of a culture from real world history. There's a difference between countries being inspired by real history and the setting being dictated by real history.
>>
>>74579507
I know, thats why I was saying I don't like the parts of Wetsratsi that are basically xeroxed
>>
>>74579535
I'd say that the vast majority aren't. Even the Verani Empire was written in a manner that made it very specifically more than just the Roman Empire, based on how it rose and fell and operated in the region.
>>
>>74579398
Yes but they were all undead until someone changed them up to some iluminati shit
>>
>>74578790
>"it's what happened with the real life parallels, therefore it has to be what happens with our setting."
That's literally not what I'm saying though, I'm saying "I would like this thing to happen, here's a real life example to show it's feasible". My primary reasons have nothing to do with an adherence to realism. I think it would make the history of the Celestial Empire more interesting and that's my starting point, the parallels to real life came after.

>So if we're going to be using real life parallels as an argument, either accept the consequences of that and apply it universally
Or we can apply it in specific cases and ignore it in others which is entirely justified to do in world building. I feel like your whole argument as built on a slippery slope fallacy. Several nations are based directly on real worlds equivalents yet are highly fantastical in nature because they build upon that foundation to create something different.

>(instead of just for the benefit of one country over another)
Do you think I have a vendetta against the Celestials and I want my favourite child to "win" or something? We're discussing a hypothetical event that's millennia in the past, in the present the power balance is very different and I don't want to mess with that. I've stated my reasoning, don't make it out like I'm trying to instigate a slap fight.
>>
>>74580112
Again, the Celestial Empire didnt exist at the time. It had two unification events into small kingdoms and the second of those slowly took over other Souxi states until it became the modern empire.

The First Orde may have taken over a couple Souxi states but there wouldnt be a massive subcontiental empire like there is now.

Think Athens and Sparta less so than a solid block.
>>
>>74579291
It's not exactly that but it's pretty much that. As og celestial author, before we even had a timeline, my thoughts were something like:

Somewhere in the distant past, a cultural identity forms around a small kingdom. This cultural identity for whatever reason spreads out to cover the entire subcontinent but it's not a state conquering other with armies. It's tribes changing their way of life gradually to match their neighbors, or settling more land. It's other ways of life dying out and this one enduring. Politically there's no empire or kingdom for thousands of years but there's a cultural and linguistic shared identity between them.

Eventually kingdoms form and they recognize each other as independent states but also know that they are closer to each other than to their neighbors.

At some point more recently, maybe a thousand years ago, this alexander the great style figure, except suoxi, physically conquers the whole continent. Where things were culturally unified by sheer accident/chance, he promotes a political and bureaucratic union. In any other circumstances an empire like his would collapse like alexander's did. But in this case he ruled long enough to reform the whole empire, and gave enough power to local figures that upon his death, the sucessors saw benefit in maintaining the status quo. With the price of "sometimes" having to answer to a distant imperial power, and sometimes having to band together to fight off invaders, they were very much independent. With added trade and stability benefits. So by sheer inertia the empire exists in an unified form. Empress claims dominance but she's, like those before her, defacto ruler of the central province only, some emperor's before her where not even that, just figure heads. The rest of the country is half ruled by local governor-generals and half ruled by "public servants".
>>
>>74579398
Pretty much what >>74579721 said. Sure there could be live ones, since there are people going to the Necroswampers to learn necromancy and other things, but most were undead... Truth be told, when I made this Lichlord and the organisation, my idea was that those who were pro-life would research and adapt life to the toxic gas of the Necroswampers, or even getting rid of the gas... since more living = more dead... but I didn't want to completely change what was established, so I made it divided with rival factions within the organisation. When people will play the setting, or when the lore will be completely established and we make a time jump, people could decide if such changes happen. Does the Necroswampers become hospitable? Did the DAS made a poison that could kill all life and unlife? That is up for other people in the future to decide!
>>
>>74580388
Yeah that was pretty much what folks went with

>The Celestian Empire grew along the Heaven's Tongue (Dan-Fo) River. the flood plains surrounding most of the river were home to many small settlements of shepherds, while nomad pasture roaming tribes existed around them. For thousands of years this cultures coexisted, raiding and fighting for territory. As tool craftsmanship evolved, the sedentary communities near the river diversified into agriculture and grew in numbers, forming several city-states and micro kingdoms, while the nomad's technological advancements came mostly from trading with these cities. Centuries of stability in the region led to the parallel development of these communities, until one of the nomad tribes introduced as the new breed of horse bred for war, and the long bamboo lance. Those two inventions together allowed them to defeat most other tribes in battle, and eventually built into a sufficiently strong army to threaten the River Kingdoms, as they were called. The conquest of the River Kingdoms by the nomad warlord Dan Su-Do led to the first unification of the Suoxi humans in the region. These kingdom would grow and splinter into two smaller kingdoms at Dan Su-Do's death. In the centuries following, the civilization in the area flourished in several large kingdoms.
>>
>>74580443
>It would be six hundred years after Dan Su-Do's death that a second great King would united the region, this time his edge being not technological warfare, but the riches from Emerald trade allowing him to hire tribal mercenaries from the neighbouring regions to subdue his neighbours, and settle said mercenaries into the newly conquered lands, allowing them and their families to move in. These man's magnitude of conquest was unrivaled, and for many years, stories about him were deemed fable in far away kingdoms. But Tinq Kisari was very real. By the time of his death, after forty years of mostly successful campaigns, his domain occupied half of the current extent of the Celestial Empire.

>In Tinq Kisari's death, his generals elected among themselves a 'High General' called Qung Lao to continue to command the growing army into further conquests, and this became a tradition. This era is known as the Commander's Tent (Xin-On) Era, as the 'Emperors' of that time (they did not use that title yet), were generals ruling from their campaign tents. Eventually the conquests were so fast, the generals had to splinter their armies to double back and crush rebellions as the main body of the army marched on. Years of this led to the division of the Empire in macro regions where each Lord-General would rule as governor, establishing forts and managing the local army. Once the Empire reach the natural limits of the mountains and plains, the Xin-On era ended, and the High General moved back to Tinq Kisari's home city by the Dan-Fo delta, naming it the City of the Celestial Heavens and Many Great Things, or Celestia as foreigners would translate it. The High General named himself Emperor and established the basis of the modern empire.

The "Empire" has been separate for most of history and even when it was unified in the past it was nowhere near the whole subcontinent
>>
>>74580388
(Cont)

This public servants having a lot of unofficial pull because of how much the functionality of everything relies on them. None of them individually has power but collectively they can literally run the empire. They arent that coordinate but thats another factor that allows empire to still exist as a "pretend-unified" nation. The bureaucy is equal in all provinces.

Imagine something like sengoku japan or 1800s US. The Imperial Post Office in Celestia is subject to only Imperial Authority for example, but Empress can't personally oversee it so it's a transprovincial institution which effectively operates without any "noble" controlling. Just publicly appointed bureaucrats.

That was my original aim for it and somethings changed. But that's fine. Personally I like this "impossible to govern behemoth" concept for a nation. It's too interlinked to separate into pieces but too big to be effectively run by any single authority. This was what was interesting in the concept for me.
>>
>>74580498
Its mostly in tact, Like for example, you have several ethnic Suoxi states around the area that culturally arent that much differnt from the Empire proper, except they didnt unify into the main state.

The Empire is basically a meme. Like 1800s Italy or Germany, an artificial construction of a government entity for an ethno linguistic group.

Even the language is a borderline conlang made to enforce the imperial construct.

This is all a long winded way of saying the First Orde couldn't have conquered the Celestial Empire because there was no Celestial Empire at the time.

>The fourth son of the Han causes a major scandal by renouncing his position to join a Naga Brood-Pit.
I do love the running gag of the Orde getting CELESTIALED/TREANTED/GOBLINED/NAGAED
>>
>>74580559
Exactly. The orde could have conquered parts of traditionally suoxi held lands, and eventually be cast out or leave (or in some cases not even that, in the case of thr suoxi'orde) overtime.
>>
>>74569638
Army of the First Orde Invaded empire when its forces were deep into Treant territory. Before Celestials generals could react, signe peace with treants and pull army back to homeland, most of the countryside was destroyed and plundered. Raiders even reached Celestia, but in what was known as Miracle at Dan-Fo, impromptu rised militia menaged to not only face invading army and force it to retreat, but also when enemy tried to escape on the other shore of Dan-Fo they broke dams on river in time to flood most of invading army. This loss begun counteroffensive by celestials, but so important victory was never repeated. Khan of the Orde finaly agreed to leave celestial empire, but he demanded most of its northern, and north-eastern lands as a war tithe.
But he had no time to see it by his eyes, since one night while leading his army back home, he was poisoned by scorpion that found itself in his bed. On his deathbed he decided to act agains previous traditions of granting only his first son all of his land, instead he separated his empire between his many sons. His body was still warm when great colapse - great war between his succesors started. Formaly it lasted until formation of second orde, but most of the fighting ended in few decades, with stelamate between remaining sons.
Celstial empire wasn't quick to use this situation to their advantage. After war flame of hatered needs to be cultivated in patience, and country needs to be rebuild. But when they struck against Dandio'Orde - the one that was in possesion of land taken i peace treaty, they fought more fierce than ever, ending war with total subjigation of Dandio'Orde. Ofcourse contoroling empire from one end of subcontinent to the other was everharder, and because of this Dandio was first made into wassal state, and later integrated into ever increasing in power beauroaucracy.

Is this something that everyone is ok with?

I do like the idea that the First Orde was the origin of the northern Tnz Territories existing.

So it seems like the First Orde displaced the scant northern Souxi population and established what would become the Dandio Orde (it obvi wouldnt be called it back then) which would fall to the Empire thousands of years later (although we never established how long the first Orde lasted)

>What is a prominent consparacy theroy in the world?
We're coming into the year 5000... so we've got Millennial Doom Cults! Lots of them. Not that they agree on when in the year that doom will fall, but there's still plenty of them, busy with numerology and astrology, predicting that the end of the world is coming next week or next month (or just before their rent was due, in one noted case in the Central Court in Belwed). Most are pretty much useless, but a few see themselves as the harbingers of the apocalypse and are trying to assassinate people to hasten the End.

Nobody actually capable of doing anything that might cause really large scale harm wants anything to do with any of these crazies.

There could be this small apocalipse cult in morloux based on what its founder heard about treants on his trade voyage to supprian aliance. There was never a true peace treaty, so formally yes. Any cessation of hostilities was always couched as a ceasefire, and was never really anything that lasted more than a year or two before some young idiot decided to go raiding again.

My original vision of that event had that years away. The Treant Empire might be a bunch of really nasty bastards towards virtually everyone when they choose to be, but they're not in a hurry. (The devious bit is that virtualy none of the western Treants have any idea at all what's due to come at them.)

But having one of the millennial cults actually hit on the real threat would be a pretty delicious twist. It'd have to be something that someone came across in the east too, and only travelers would really give credence to the level of threat possible; the western Treants are really peaceful types.
>>
>>74584267
Nothing stops cults from existing for longer than few initial months. Most would fall apart like within two years of 5th milenium, but some, like those guys could exist on ege of importance and being forgotten for longer.
>>
>>74584238
It would be entirely in character for them to do that.

I was thinking about this. The assassins are probably magically bound to be loyal to the Emperor/Empress. There's also not that many of them: generals in the provinces cannot count on assistance from them, but sometimes get it and it is welcome... except that they always wonder whether the assassin is there to kill them, or to investigate their little not-quite-legal side-lines and report back. Sometimes, that's even true...

>This excerpt is one of many taken from the travel journal of Xuan Yingchao, Envoy of the Celestial Empress.

>Second Excerpt – The Airoxians

I write this entry from the comfort of an Airoxian castle, though the quarters I have been given lack many of the luxuries that I am used to. During the past week, we have been forced to travel at such a reckless pace that I have had no time to write. To begin with, I thought that Sir Grubny's sole motivation was to be rid of us, but now I understand that he was also driven by prudence. After we had finished our descent from the Wall of the World, we began to pass signs of battle. Fertile fields had been trampled until all that was left was mud, and quaint farmhouses had been reduced to blackened skeletons. We even came across some of the deceased, which were given unmarked burials by our Airoxian escort.

I became worried that we had arrived at this country during a war, and I said as much to Sir Grubny. He laughed at my words, though there was not much mirth in the sound. He said that the only war that was going on was between the lords of Airoxia. I found this hard to believe. For what reason would a nation ever fight against itself? When I pressed Sir Grubny on the matter, he replied that it was the Airoxian way of testing their strength, to ensure that only the strongest among them ruled. In that moment, I found myself reminded of the Tnz'qran Ordes.

This insight into the culture of the Airoxians left me somewhat anxious when Sir Grubny led us to our current location, a castle known as Skalanamas. Its outer walls were battered and scorched, and one of them was even breached, all of which was evidence of a recent siege. Despite this, the occupants were in rather high spirits, most likely because they were one who had seized the fortress. I did not have much time to speak with them however, as Sir Grubny wished to introduce me to his lord and the new master of Skalanamas, Marquis Laudovas.

Like his men, the marquis was in a good mood. In fact, he threw a banquet in honour of us, his foreign guests. I must admit, I have never seen this much meat in my life. Plates piled high with the roasted flesh of countless animals were laid across a long table, accompanied with bowls of spiced soup and broth. With forks and knives the servants of Laudovas gorged themselves, while my companions and I found it hard to stomach more than a few mouthfuls. Thankfully, the feast served as the perfect opportunity to speak with the marquis and learn more of his culture.

First, I asked why he had Sir Grubny hurry us along in such a fashion. Laudovas was a little too honest and admitted that he has little time to entertain foreigners, especially when he is in the middle of a struggle with a neighbouring lord. Hiding my indignation, I inquired about the nature of the conflict. His answer was a simple one, that his neighbour was incapable of protecting his land and that he sought to punish him for his weakness and inadequacy. Laudovas then told me that this war is far from over, that he seeks to seize what little territory his rival still holds, and that he will need all of the manpower that he can muster. For this reason, Sir Grubny will not take us to the city of Tharnux. Instead, he will only accompany us as far as the nearest port.

My feelings on this are mixed. On one hand, I am left feeling irrelevant and unimportant, as though the presence of the Suoxi means nothing to this lord of Airoxia. On the other, I will be glad once Sir Grubny has barked his last command and I never have to hear his voice again. Regardless, I had little choice in the matter and accepted the decision of the marquis. My compliance seemed to please Laudovas, and it became apparent that he revels in the authority that he has over others.

Whenever I inquired about the way of his people, it seemed as though the conversation always gravitated towards the subject of strength, that “only the mightiest shepherd has the right to lead the flock.” I asked if this meant that the king of the Commonwealth was the strongest lord among them, though I believe that this was a mistake. The mood of Laudovas immediately soured and he answered that though King Szyćak is strong, the Leixi are a weak people and that his loyalty shall only last for as long as the king lives. I tried to inquire further, but it seemed as though the marquis was finished with my question. We were dismissed to our quarters, and told to leave Skalanamas at first light. The reign of this Szyćak seems to be the source of some bitterness for Laudovas, and I cannot help but wonder why.

I suppose that so far, I have only learned about one half of this strange country. I still know so very little about the other, about these Leixi that Laudovas sneered about. Hopefully, an opportunity to learn more shall present itself when I arrive in the city of Tharnux. For the time being, all I can do is pray that they are somewhat more civilised than the Airoxians, and that they do not eat quite as much meat.

After compiling the information and organizing a page I have noticed a great deal of species found in Westrasi and The Central Plains. Westsea especially should be teeming with entries given it's got a chain of islands to work with and those are full of endemic species.

When I wrote the Vashians, I mentioned that they respect certain states for maintaining the Verani traditions. They don't mind the Veranese doing nothing since they hope to one day reunite the Empire themselves (mostly through diplomacy and soft power since the average Vashian citizen has a rose-tinted view of how the Verani Empire actually worked)

They definitely don't like the Suezi though, since they fear there is an outside chance that the Suezi could actually pull off their goals. I put the Suezi on the list of states that the Vashians consider to be barbarians very deliberately. That doesn't stop them from working together sometimes though when it is to their mutual advantage though, since the Vashians put realpolitik before ideology.

The above applies mostly to common citizens, the elite are driven primarily by self-interest.

Country Name: Nulamore (colony of Morloux Republic)
Population: 8% Westrasi, 6% Westrasi-Suoxi-mix, 3% Tnz'qran-Suoxi, 22% Suoxi, 20% Suoxi-Vassal mix, 41% former Vassal Tribe, 3% Other
Capital: New Larus
Goverment: Puppet City States

>Culture

Newcomers to Nulamore are quick to pick up on the tensions and suspicion that underlie many interactions. Despite having moved to the Morloux "everyone is equal" model, there is still a definite hierarchy based on racial and religious lines. Although some natives of Morloux are uncomfortable with this, others accept it as the price to pay for the continued existence of Nulamore given the many outside and inside factions that want to see it fall.

At the top of the hierarchy are the Westrasi of Morloux heritage. They prefer to keep to the port cities and forts of the nation, where they typically form the vast majority of the population, allowing many of them to turn a blind eye to some of the harsh realities in the interior. High turnover among sailors, soldiers, and merchants means many only spend a few years here before setting elsewhere.

Below them are those with a mix of Westrasi and Suoxi blood. Primarily descended from Westrasi slavers and members of the Naga Cult during the "Dark Time", they still hold positions of power in large parts of the interior despite their sordid past.

"Pure-blood" Suoxi and Tnz'qran are next in the hierarchy. Many have been able to hold onto wealth and power since the creation of Nulamore, but their loyalty is suspect, since many still resent the Westrasi presence.

Those of partial or full Treant Vassal Tribe heritage are at the bottom of the pecking order. The descendants of slaves, many have found it difficult to advance in Nulamore's plantation based economy despite the Morloux Republic's commitment to equality. Dryads, wood elves, and treants are extremely rare though, since captured specimens were often sent to Morloux where it was felt they were less likely to cause a revolt.
>>
>>74594657

>Religion

Gloria-Etalia is popular with the Westrasi inhabitants, and some former slaves though the Suoxi remain highly distrustful due to historic events.

The Celestian Pantheon is popular with Suoxi in the south, but is somewhat suppressed due to its long association with anti-Westrasi sentiment.

The Naga Cult is a splinter branch of the Ivory Kingdom traditions. Seen as somewhat heretical even by the Ivory Kingdom, the religion is infamous for its violent rituals, occultism, use of destruction magic, and promotion of cruel behavior by those in power to those without. Despite this, they are treated with respect by Westrasi since they are seen as key to maintaining Morloux's control of the territory.

The Animal Cult is a syncretic faith popular with former slaves and the Tnz'qran. An odd mix of Treant Vassal Tribe traditions, Tnz'qran animal spirit faith, Boros religious texts, and the remaining non-Suoxi regional cultures, its tenets are vague enough to accommodate many variants.

>Organization

Nulamore is ruled via a patchwork of city states ruled by local nobles loyal to Morloux. Many of these rulers are followers of the Naga cult (a few are even Nagi), but other faiths are tolerated as long as the noble family in question has a long history of loyalty to Morloux. Several coastal city states with large Westrasi populations are ruled by an elected mayor instead. Several large armies of Westrasi soldiers are posted in Nulamore to protect against invasion or revolt, and the High Marshal of the Nulamore Armies is one of the most powerful figures in Nulamore. There is also a large naval presence, plus standing armies maintained by the most trusted local rulers.
>>
>>74594673

>Origin

According to the region's somewhat fuzzy ancient history, it was first settled by cousins of the races that now form the Treant Vassal Tribes, before being flooded by migrants from the Suoxi region. This created two distinct cultures, the coastal Basal peoples, who were mostly Suoxi, and the interior Vishga peoples, who were a mix of many races. Eventually both groups were swept away by subsequent Suoxi migrations, resulting in a population that considered itself to be Suoxi, though often possessing non Suoxi traits like dark hair, darker skin, and dark eye color.

The conquest of the Nulamore region by the then Kingdom of Morloux was largely orchestrated several centuries ago by King Layron the Tenth. A brilliant yet morally bankrupt individual, similar to his legendary ancestor, Layron X took advantage of the recent conversion of several Janedi city states to the Gloria-Etalia faith to send "religious" advisors (Layron X didn't get along well with followers of Gloria-Etalia and had already replaced much of the church leadership in his country with yes men and political allies) to convince converted leaders that allowing Westrasi to set up plantations on their land, as well as capturing slaves to work the plantations, and shipping monopolies for Morloux, would help civilize the Janedi peninsula in the name of Gloria-Etalia. This made Layron X and his allies incredibly rich, but also turned most of the neighboring city states against the converted ones. Having decided that his allies were a lost cause, Layron X made the stunning move of ordering the armies he sent to help the converted cities to instead betray them in favor of a much stronger alliance of Naga Cult worshiping city states. Combining Morloux technology with the magic and ferocity of the Naga Cult proved a deadly combination, and together they enslaved most of the northern Janedi peninsula, including their former allies.
>>
>>74594687

>Origin (continued)

It didn't take long for Layron X and his descendants to realize that slavery was even more profitable than cash crop plantations, and for the next two centuries, Nulamore was used to launch raids and slave wars almost continuously against neighboring states, including a long stretch of suspiciously easy victories against the Treant Empire. During the so called "Dark Time" Nulamore was the most hated state in the region, even more so than the Treant Empire.

Of course, this all came to an end when the Morloux Republic was formed. Slavery was instantly banned (though debt bondage, penal labor, and conscription labor is still practiced to this day) and revolutionary minded citizens were sent to help reorganize Nulamore society along democratic lines (they were largely unsuccessful). This revolutionary died down after a few decades though, as many Morloux power brokers came to the realization that full democracy would weaken Morloux's rulership of Nulamore. Instead the various city states without a significant Westrasi population were declared free independent allies, who were allowed to choose whatever form of government they wanted.

>Diplomacy

Nulamore is a de facto Morloux colony. Morloux diplomats pay lip service to the individual puppet leaders, but no one is fooled. Morloux exerts control via uneven trade deals and tariffs to cheaply produce exotic goods for back home, via military pacts that put Nulamore assets at Morloux disposal, and a range of other agreements that allow Morloux "advisors" to create and enforce new laws at will.
>>
>>74594714

>Diplomacy (continued)

Nulamore (and Morloux) has extremely poor relations with the Ecinevoi, who see them as an impediment to their pseudo-imperialist aspirations in the region, and potentially as a foothold for Morloux to directly attack the heart of the Merchant Empire. As a result, the Honorable Ecinevian League supplies weaponry and goods at discount to anyone actively harming Nulamore-Morloux assets. Most see a war in the near future as inevitable.

Belara also hates Morloux, and by extension Nulamore. They will likely side with the Ecinevoi in any war, though perhaps not if given good trade deals.

Janedi has little love for Nulamore due to the legacy of the conquest of north Janedi by Layron X, as well as fears that Morloux may decide to expand Nulamore over the entire peninsula. However, the Janedi fear the Ecinevoi also want to conquer the peninsula, so would likely remain neutral in any war between the two.

Swe'yus has had many wars with Nulamore in the past, and Morloux-Nulamore was even briefly able to conquer Swe'yus. There is little friendship there.

Morloux-Nulamore carved out a small holding along the coast of the Treant Empire after many bloody wars. However, for the past 2-3 decades there has been peace and lively trade thanks to their mutual antagonism to the Honorable Ecinevian League. Unfortunately this alliance has reduced the opinions that many neutral states have for Morloux-Nulamore due to the general hatred that almost all human nations have for the Treant Empire.

Most other states along the southern coast of the continent distrust Morloux-Nulamore due to a mix of isolationism, distaste for their ties to the Treant Empire, fears of imperialism, its history as a slaving hub, and/or the influence of one of Morloux's rivals.

>Geography
Nulamore is mostly covered in dense jungle. Despite aggressive efforts by slave labor, and later cheap labor, plantations still only cover a limited portion of usable land, and many communities are connected by canoe rather than road. Despite this, the rich soil and heavy rains allow Nulamore to support a large population, and cities are numerous, and in some cases more than large enough to be considered metropolises.

>Economy
Aside from the fruit and rice plantations required to support the population, Nulamore grows many cash crops that fetch high prices in Morloux. In addition, gemstones, animal parts, and crafted goods are exported from here back west to Morloux and goods from the Treant Empire travel through this country.

SHORT BLURB ON EVERY REGION
> Westerasi
The Westerasi Region while known because of it's knights and being the home of the Church of Divine Duality is in all actuality the most diverse of all regions. The Druidic Storm Islands and Aztek Goldlands define the North while the Halfling-Giant Alliance Defines the south with the World spine and windhell Valley marking the East and border of the region. Until recently the Westerasi Region was the most isolated in the World being cut off from the rest of the continent by mountains from every side. In recent years though trough advancements in sailing Westerasi ideals and people's started spreading.

Currently the Westerasi region is the: Most Technologically Advanced, Most divided and wealthiest in all of Gloria-Etalia. Though most of that Wealth is conzentrated within the Central Sea.

> Westsea
An odd undefined region full of pirates, Fishmen and Mollusks. It is said that it only grew to prominence a few years after the beginning of the Westerasi age of Sail.

> Celestia Subcontinent
The Ancestral homeland of the Suoxi holds much importance in the world. It is by far the most densely populated of all regions. It is said that half of all men in the world live in the Celestial Empire, while the other half wishes they did.

The Celestia Subcontinent is the region with the least amount of natural magic and also lacks in ancient Technology. The Empire stands based on it's raw numbers, it's wealth and it's advancements in alchemy which are being rapidly being caught up on by the Westerasi.

> The Central Plains
A Region dominated by steppes in the North and Savannah's in the South with the exception of the eternal Treant Jungle.

The rules of the Plains are simple: Who controls the Horses, controls the steppe.

The Steppe is home to various examples of Megafauna feeding on the eternal sea of grass. The Dominant powers of this largest of regions are the Tnz'qran Raiders, the Treant Empire and the Uzataar Khanate.
