Happy 2 month anniversary thread.

Gloria-Etalia is a kitchen sink setting which sprung up into existence when OP gave /tg/ an Empty map and people doodled things onto it. Tecnobarbarians living a nation away from a mess of small nation states. Evil Treants plotting world domination by slowly expanding their empire. An intricate war game between an ancient dragon and a troll who rules a kingdom. It is a world full of nations interacting with each other, and the people interacting in turn.

Technobarbarian alpha is basicaly hightest you can go as technobarb as i see it. Powerarmor (or most of powerarmor elements), and high firepower

Techno barbarians are too techno and not barbaric enough. They need more chaotic, supertitious elements. Animal parts for armor mixed with high tech vests. In fighting, fear of something perfectly harmless because of their religion. That sort of stuff

En Dura Dis.
Three strange words, carved into a sword. A sword that was given to him by his farmer of a father, as Tnz'qran raiders attacked his father. His parents died defending him in their lone home in the mountains, and he buried them by himself. His father, whose physique was more than a mere farmer. His mother, whose words were faster than his legs could run, and heavy with magic. His parents taught him all he needed to know, save for their past. He looked again at his sword, which would gleam green in firelight. He took on adventuring as a way to search for his family's past. In Itzil he encountered a Technobarbarian for the first time, and learnt of the origin of the blade he has. Now he is Grun, son of Kronn, son of Dura; Proof of his lineage lies with his rapid yet rough swordsmanship. Three certain magic-laden words be his battlecry. EN DURA DIS!

> The Seven Circles

Mendul and his cult operates inside the Great Pyramid. It has an underground system, his minions digged into 7 levels, known as the "Seven Circles". Each Circle has it's own purpose.

>Circle of War
All the weapons and creations are stored here, ready to serve Mendul and go to war in his name.

>Circle of Completion
A testing ground as well as a place for rituals. Here ends up every machine or those who were turned into machines to be tested and proven worthy to the Machine King.

>Circle of Creation
A factory, a workshop, the place where Menduls creations come to life. The machineries are powered by devices called "Lungs of Mendul".

>Circle of Blood
A sea of teriad oil, the blood of Mendul given to his most worthy servants to be turned into artificial lifeforms but also used to fill his creations with power.

>Circle of Flesh
A hall of corpses used for experiments. Even captured people of barbarian tribes are imprisoned here to be turned into loyal servants for Menduls perverted visions. There is also a part of this circle where failed artefacts and other sort of creations end up here in a big pile of trash to be used for anything else later, as the Menduvith's never waste there stuff.

>Circle of Voices
The Circle where Menduvith's have their sessions and prays to the Machine King. Decisions in the sessions are noted and gathered but it is Mendul who has the last word in the end and the final decision that has to be made without questioning.

> Mendul's Sanctum
Here lies Mendul, where he controls the entire underground.

[This is a follow-on from my own prompting a thread or two back.]

The great city of Ecinev is on the delta of the mighty river of Gnokem, grand artery of the Empire, sprawling across the many islands and forming its own from great pilings. A traveler going upstream in one of the many sailing barges that ply the river will first pass through land that was once swamp and still is in places; pockets of mangrove continue to hang on in the face of the mighty march of civilization. Yet much is instead given over to the blessed work of growing rice in vast quantities, fed by the waters of the river, the frequent rains, and the glorious sunshine of the blessed empire. Go further upstream and the true banks of the river draw closer, and the great estates of the mighty dominate. Some are precisely sculpted parkland where not a single bloom of Empire's Glory bush is out of place. Others are filled with regiment upon regiment of trees, carefully tended to produce wood of exacting straightness and hardness. In both cases, only perfection is permitted. The estates also contain palaces, but these are rarely visible from the river itself. Instead, they will be connected via short canals that go up slight side valleys to the most harmonious locations for a private retreat.

But one of the most important parts comes once you go above the first great cataract into the highlands of Adirolf. Progress here is slower, to the point where those in a hurry might well take to the roads, but it is this area where the majority of spices in the world are actually grown. Here is the font of the true wealth of the Empire! The scent of the peppaflur tree hangs in the air, and small birds fly between chinsalom blooms while singing of their bravery against their fellows. It's rumored that even a few treasured nutmeg trees survive somewhere in the region, carefully guarded as the spice of kings, preserved from the ancient time before time, brought from long-fabled Erf. Or maybe that's just a rumor.

>Also Player character from technobarbarian wastes could claim (truthfully or not) that he is one of Dura sons
Sons or grandsons, both would work well. Especially as there's a lot of them. Being one of the grandsons of Dura gets you a place in the clan but not hugely more until you prove yourself...
>>

You are on the wrong board, friendo.
>>
>>75024297
My headcanon is that there's no dura. Everytime a techno barbarian here of something badass being done, they assume it was dura. They hear a lot of stories of dura so it makes sense in their head. This snowballs into basically everyone thinking there's a guy named dura who is the ultimate badass. But Dura is more of the closest thing technobarbs have to a god.

I like the idea that Dura was just that good of a warrior but didn't have what it takes to unite the barbarians or lead them out of savagery. The servants of the Cringing One are abroad on the board tonight!
But seriously, we're just having fun tossing around ideas for what Dura was actually like, independent of the legend that is now Dura. We don't actually need to set down much concrete: the technobarbarians set more store by legends and bragging and being most loud and boastful.

The Sons of Dura are, however, a powerful clan these days, even if a fractious one. Nobody really wants the Sons to stop fighting each other and come after them instead. Much better to flatter and distract so they find someone else to pester.

The technobards know the truth, but are quiet about the details of Dura for some reason.
>>
>>75025636
Whereas I'm pretty sure most anons want the setting to be a bit more concrete. He seems like a Ragnar Lodbrok figure so it doesn't all have to be spelled out but those posts above mostly seem to be written to rewrite the character into a myth instead. Just seems shitty.
>>
Here is a shitty ideia I had to mix the (rad) Mandul lore and the pyramid is locked and Dura's stash has the key:

Sell the mystic, the dark wanderer, first of his clan, father of Dura was a travelling sage, an explorer of the wastelands who would travel from the many different techno-barbarian settlements, bringing rare materials and forgotten knowledge, and trading then for seemingly useless items and favors.

Sell, in truth, was originally a follower of Mendul, holding one of the highest positions within the circles, until in following his unending ambition, betrayed Mendul in a failed uprising. Quickly noticing that the attempt of his cabal to breach the Sanctum, he fled the pyramid with all the stolen technology he could carry, and not before activating the pre-fall security system and sealing the pyramid behind him.
But it is not so easy to escape Mendul’s wrath, and Sell would soon find that many of his cybernetics began to shut off, and most of the stolen items would refuse to activate. However, the dark secrets that he learned were still with him, and a plan was formulated. He would raise a son, a being of his own flesh and blood, and in him he would pour all of the enhancements he could, and when he was mature, he would transfer his consciousness onto him. So he followed the plan, years wandering the wastes, trading with savages that barely understood the relics that they held, wearing a façade of benefactor, just so that he would be free, and would have his revenge. And still, even after all that time, the curse of Mandul was too strong. He failed to overpower his son, and Dura slayed his father.
Meanwhile, trapped beneath a pyramid that once was his salvation, Mandul whispered. Whispered to explorers, to lead shells, to marauders and cultists. He whispered through the air, through the ground and water, and even through the minds, of any who would pass by the pyramid. Promises of power and eternity, for a simple price : Freedom, and vengeance.

>>
>>75026181
The problem with Ragnar and his sons is that they liked to brag a LOT and some of his sons lives were very poorly recorded. Most tales of his sons were passed down orally and they didn't quite receive the same treatment by historians. I believe Ivar the boneless is one of the least understood of his sons he might have been a cripple or someone so dexterous and limber that he was called "boneless" they aren't even sure of that regarding Ivar.

When Dura returned to his people with his teriad-armored warriors they found their tribe obliterated. The lands they once called home were scorched and lifeless. In the distance a glistening winged beast could be seen flying towards the horizon. Dura's men would swear a blood oath to avenge their people. They rode their bug mounts for days without sleep. When the beast finally landed and they drew close they saw the beast clearly for the first time. It had the form of the great flying serpents of the north and east but it moved like the teriads and gleamed with the same metal skin. Dura's finest warrior knew the beast as Sievert the desecration. The beast was laired in the glass deserts, the air was filled with dust that made them cough blood and the heat softened parts of their relics. Half of his men died of exposure before they reached the beasts lair. Within the melted structure ancient chains hung like cobwebs. The creature sat atop a massive dais, connected by ropes of metal to great humming pillars of dust coated stone and glass. The beast did not stir while they approached so Dura ordered his men to cut the ancient chains with burning water. When the chains were finally cut free Dura's men surrounded the beast and prepared to entangle the desecrator to prevent its escape and hobble it. When the first chain landed across the metal behemoth, it exploded into action. Three men died with a single lash of its tail, cut in half in its wake. Four more died impaling the beast with their sun spears pinning the creature to the dais. As the creature began to panic Dura's men felt confident in the last moment of their lives. Brilliant light burst from the creatures mouth and all but one of Dura's comrades were turned into greasy ash. Overcome with rage and grief Dura charged up the now toppled stone and glass pillar next to the beast and lept from it to sever the metal serpent's neck...
>>

Even as Dura delivered an impossibly might blow he was engulfed in the beasts light. Kork, Dura's last raider, dragged the mortally wounded Dura from the glass desert and prayed to the ancestors to spare his friend. They would travel for days to reach the nearest tribe and exchange a relic for their healer to aid Dura. The healer would not accept payment as Dura would surely die no matter what he did. Kork wept for his friend and prepared a funeral pyre. As he went to collect his friend to place him upon the pyre he found him standing and rearming himself, burned still and badly disfigured but alive. Dura gave him little time to rejoice as they set about conscripting the tribe into aiding them claim the great beasts remains and recover their fallen.

Not all barbarians are getting kidnapped and turned into machines. Some tribes in the wastelands have joined Mendul willingly, for power or a better future. These barbarians have been given a fully change on their body where no flesh or bones are left and been replaced by metal, gears and sharp blades. From cyborgs to complete artificial life, these barbarians often get into conflict with those tribes who defend themselves against the Machine God and his minions.

More updates for the Travel Journal of Jalaina Nahal:

>Day 15 - Lost in Sisilia

Good news journal, I am not dead.

Yet.

That is pretty much it for good news, everything else is rather bad.

I woke up this morning sitting in a puddle, last night I took shelter under a rock outcropping, but unfortunately I didn't account for the fact that the drainage in the area was poor. Also, everything I was wearing and everything in my sack was still completely drenched from the day before, except for this journal, since it was wrapped in alchemaic cloth. It was overcast, which made orientation impossible, and drying slow. Rather than wander in a random direction in soggy clothes, I lit a rather smoky fire with a lot of wet underbrush and a bit of magick and hung most of my gear and clothes over it to dry them out.

Rather clever I thought.

It wasn't.

Despite a certain suspicion that I was being watched, I dosed off almost instantly. From a poor sleep from the night before, or some sort of fey magick I am still not sure. Naturally when I wake up most of my stuff is in the fire, and someone tied my big toes together with cut vines, which resulted in a rather painful face plant. I suspect fairies, but I never saw them.

After having a bit of a meltdown, during which I wrecked some of the few pieces of gear I had left, I picked a direction at random and wandered about miserably for a few hours, trying to find the "main road". I was (and still am) barefoot, badly underdressed, and reduced to carrying my few remaining pieces of gear (dagger, journal wrapped in alchemaic rag, graphite stick) since I had no pockets and my carrying sack is now a pile of ash.

I was also definitely being followed by that point, though the first of my stalkers didn't make his appearance until dusk.

In the stories satyrs are charming and seductive. This fellow was rather ugly, and his first words to me came in the form of an extremely crude and graphic limerick about how good I would look nude, heavy with his child, gagged, bound to a tree, plus some other things too vile to even think about.

Charming.

Luckily those were also his last words to me. In a panic, I launched a small ball of magick flame at him, but for some reason, likely due to the ley lines rumored to be in the area, it turned into a rather impressive torrent of flame instead, and the satyr fled the area rather ablaze.

Unfortunately he is likely not dead, which means sleep is not an option for tonight.

When I am done writing this entry, I plan on lighting a torch, and continuing to search for signs of civilization.

See previous entry regarding rewards for finding this journal.

>Day 16 - Central Sisilia

I am writing this entry from a dog kennel on a farm just outside the confusingly named City of Sisilia, de facto capital of the Sisilia Citystates. Not where I saw myself going in life, but still far better than sleeping in the bush like the last two nights.

A number of rather strange things occurred this day, or perhaps the night before, it is rather hard to tell. As previously mentioned, I stayed up all night trying to find civilization, but instead ended up finding even more trouble.

The Really Bad kind.

"She" was about six feet, nude save for a few straps binding a corpse to her back, and the ugliest thing I have even seen. I instantly recognized her from the old fairy tales as a hag.

I also recognized the fact that I was in deep trouble, for hags are both immensely strong physically and in terms of magickal ability. They are also extremely sadistic and fond of tricking people into accepting horrible fates.

I fainted.

I awoke somewhere underground, in a cage hanging from the ceiling so small that my arms and legs dangled freely. I was not alone, there was several bodies in the cave, altered, tortured, and transformed in the worst ways imaginable yet still alive somehow. There was also the hag.

She offered me a choice. Deliver a simple message for her to a friend named Meg, or get cursed with immortality, flayed alive, shoved in a tiny cage, have my extremities gnawed off, and a long list of other horrible fates, including being lent to my crispy satyr friend from last night for a few decades.
>>
File: The Oak Father.jpg (77 KB, 496x552)

>>75030565
Knowing full well she could likely deliver on her threats, I hastily accepted her deal, despite not knowing a few key details. First of all, it turns out Meg lives somewhere in Ruskata (but don't worry said the hag, fate was bringing you to her anyways, which I took as a factual statement since hags are said to sometimes see into the future). Secondly, I could never tell anyone else the message. Thirdly, she was going to put a curse on me to ensure that I delivered the message upon meeting Meg. She licked her finger with an obscenely long tongue, then jabbed me hard in the chest, just over my heart. My heart spasmed several times before stopping, like something ice cold was inside me wrapping itself around my heart and squeezing.

I fainted.

Again.

I awoke at the base of the largest tree I have ever seen, my few remaining possessions piled at my feet. I sat at the base of the tree for hours waiting for my heart to stop feeling so strange. I eventually dozed off again, though nothing approached me as I slept. They say once you make a Pact with a powerful fey, the rest will usually leave you alone, so perhaps there is a silver lining in this.

I woke up again still at the base of the tree. It is truly beautiful. I believe it is likely The Oak Father from The Ten Natural Splendours of Laelaz the Walker. I feel rather blessed, though this hardly makes up for the misery and terror of the past forty eight hours. Still, I was feeling a bit better by that point, and the sun was out, allowing me to judge direction, so I headed straight west, knowing I would hit the "main road" eventually. Which I eventually did, though by that point my bare feet were bleeding, I was covered in scratches, twigs, and burrs, and I hadn't eaten anything for ages.
>>
>>75030580

Luckily an old man on a mule cart stopped to offer me a ride to Sisilia City, which was only a few hours away. He seemed harmless enough and was accompanied by his young granddaughters, so I gratefully accepted. We chatted the entire time, and I learned a great deal about rural Sisilian culture. The man belonged to one of the farming clans living outside of the city, and raises his granddaughters alone for the most part since their mother disappeared, his wife died of illness years ago, and the girls have no acknowledged father, as is often the case in Sisilia. Though like today he sometimes drops his granddaughters off with relatives from either his own clan, or his former wife's clan, sometimes for weeks at a time. Clans trump core family units in Sisilia, to an extent that seems strange to even someone like myself who spent more time being raised by older cousins than my busy parents.

He didn't find my underdressed and disorderly appearance particularly noteworthy, nor the fact that I spoke Mukwesk with a distinct foreign accent. He simply said strange things happen in the forest and pressed no further. I briefly mentioned the fairies, but had no desire to discuss the satyr or the hag, particularly with children around.

Upon realizing I had no money (my coin purse had disappeared around the same time the fairies turned most of my stuff into a bonfire), he offered to let me stay the night at his cousin-in-law's house, though unfortunately I would have to stay outside, since the hovel couldn't fit four guests. Still it was a rather generous offer, even more so when he persuaded his relatives to offer me a free meal (pork and vegetable soup with watery beer and a chunk of stale bread, yet still managed to taste like the best thing I had eaten in ages, such was my hunger). I was beginning to suspect that I reminded him of either his wife or daughter.

So here I am. sleeping in the dog kennel. At least there is puppies, I like puppies.

>Day 17 - Sisilia City & Farbank (Sisilia)

Early this morning, Nestor (the old man) showed me the main sights in Sisilia City before getting me a job as a porter on a barge heading west to Farbank. After a short goodbye, he then continued on his way north to visit his half-brother who lived in a nameless hamlet near the Morloux border.

Sisilia City is a rather small city of gloomy, though elaborate stone buildings, where the streets are perpetually misty and damp thanks to the large waterfall in the middle of the city. Although admittedly quite beautiful, the waterfall also has the unfortunate side effect of making the whole city smell like stagnant water and rotting leaves. The only other thing worth seeing in the city is the massive cathedral that dominates the center. Apparently once a stronghold of Gloria-Etalia, it was deconsecrated centuries ago and is now a palace of sorts for the city's ruler.

Unfortunately Nestor's relatives were too poor to donate shoes or clothes, and I never found the time to bathe or pick twigs out of my hair, so I still looked like a xexe bean user who spent the past week running around the forest barefoot in her underclothes. There is a fair bit of poverty in Sisilia City though, and the pagans of Sisilia have much lower standards of modesty than the followers of Gloria-Etalia, so ironically as long as I kept my mouth shut I fit in much better than when I arrived in the country dressed as a wealthy foreigner. (I still got a few leers though, however by that point I had come to realize almost everyone gets at least occasionally leered at in Sisilia).
>>
>>75030658
If anything, I was rather overdressed compared to the homeless vagrants and wanderers I found myself working with hauling merchandise from Sisilia City to Farbank via an old rotting barge. The pay was terrible as well, though at least the meal was free (it was gruel). The work actually wasn't that bad since most of the time we just sat on the barge as it ran downstream, we only had to do anything during two portages over rapids. The upstream trip was far more work, we passed several barges being painstakingly dragged upstream via ropes, but luckily this was a one way trip for me. My companions were rather poor company, most were burnt out in mind and body from a lifetime of poverty and labor. A couple were wanderers like myself along for the free trip and a bit of coin in return for light labor. The young lad from Morloux was a bit handsy, but it only took a minor display of magick to get him to back down.

Farbank is a pleasant enough city, reminds me a bit of the poorer port cities in the Westrasi Sea region. After almost a week in the dense, stuffy forests of Sisilia, the ocean breeze felt amazing. Much like in Sisilia City, none of the locals paid much attention to my disheveled appearance, though I was mistaken for a prostitute by three different groups of foreign sailors. It only took a rude gesture to discourage them though. The notoriously vengeful reputation of the Sisilian clans was now working in my favor.

I located the office-warehouse of Sakras' trading company, and in no time I was reconnecting with my old friend. A Solendor Elf who had walked many paths even before I met her years ago at the Helias Academy of Magick, I always considered her somewhat of a role model, and probably would not have come up with my hair-brained scheme to travel the world had I not known her. I filled her in on all the details of my adventure thus far, where she repeatedly congratulated me on any remotely sensible action I took, laughed off any setback as a learning experience, and offered many of her own stories where she faced similar perils. By the end of the night my enthusiasm for my continent spanning adventure had been restored in ways that would not have seemed possible just a day before, and I was looking forward to visiting many of the locations that Sakras mentioned as being on the itinerary for the next two months I would be travelling with her ship.

>Day 18 - Off the Western Coast of the Morloux Republic

I spent most of the morning helping Sakras organize for the departure of her ship, the Free Spirit. It isn't actually her ship, it belongs to the Farbanks Shipping Consortium, which is a joint venture of several minor merchant families from Sisilia, Morloux, and Lahaila. Sakras herself is technically an employee of the Consortium, since they apparently ran out of family members willing to captain their ships, though the Consortium gives Sakras a lot of freedom to operate as she wishes, as long as her profit margins are respectable.

The Free Spirit is two and a half mast carrack with an unusually narrow hull capable of great speed. Like many Sisilian vessels, she has a exquisitely crafted, though unnecessarily well-endowed lady as her figurehead, which is said to both fascinate and infuriate sailors and port officials from more conservative nations. She specializes in moving high value goods quickly, and has a crew complement of 41, mostly humans from Sisilia, but a few from Morloux, Lahaila, and the Vesterlands, as well as two dwarfs, another elf, and a halfling. I am taking on the role of quartermaster since the last one was promoted to being captain of his own ship about a month ago and Sakras hasn't been able to find a replacement yet.

Thanks to some loaned clothes from Sakras, and access to a comb and bath for the first time in nearly a week, I am finally feeling a lot like my old self, though every once and a while my heart will flutter a bit and feel a bit cold, which brings back both unwelcome memories, and uncomfortable questions on the nature of the curse the hag placed on me (the hag never did explain what would happen to me if I didn't pass her message to Meg, perhaps I passed out before she had the chance to explain the gribbly details). Sakras said she knows some people who may be able to look in to it.
>>
>>75030748
The first leg of our voyage is almost straight north, in order to deliver provisions to a tiny Belara southwest of the Storm Islands. The almost perpetual storms around the Storm Islands themselves are too dangerous for a ship like The Free Spirit, but plenty of money can still be made delivering goods to the (slightly) safer outer islands of the Belaran Kingdom, since many Belaran companies consider the risk-profit margin to be minimal. The real profit here though is visiting the nearby mermaid colonies to trade useless trinkets for pearls, shark teeth, and large conch shells, which are then sold in Lalaila and the Halfling ports for significant amounts of coin.

The weather was good, and a strong wind from the south allowed us to travel over 200 kilometers on the first day before we took shelter in a secluded cove off the Morloux coast. I asked Sakras why we didn't continue through the night, but she just smiled wryly and said this region isn't known as the Stormlands for nothing.

You read about the setting, come to the thread and propose new canon, most of times anons are cool with that, but if conflicts with existing canon, or anons dont like it, they will let you know. Mostly if you wanna make people and stories, those are almost always kosher. If you want to create a nation you will have to work with it's existing lore, and neighbour's lore, and will be expect to 'balance' it somehow.

>Bad lore examples:
1. Karl MaxPower is a super communist who everyone loves, he has 800 wives and keeps them all sexually satisfied everyday while also being the greatest swordsman, scholar and poet to have ever lived.

2. The nation of Dio-Rama is inhabited by the Dio race. Everyone loves them, they have a tech level higher than anyone in the setting, are atheists and vegans cause they are smarter than everyone and there's not a single poor person in Dio Rama.

>good lore example
1. This person exists, they are strong in the field of X and relevant to world history because of Y.

2. This nation exists, they interact with their neighbours in so so manner, they are good at X and bad at Y. They have a philosophy of W.

Celestial Empire Anon, is sadly the thread's biggest sperg.

He will rewrite Technobarbarian lore so they never attack the Celestial Empire.

He will throw a massive tantrum over the idea of the CE loosing to the Tnz'qran Raiders 1200 years ago.

He will throw a tantrum at the proposition of the Ce Pantheon being tied to GE, because CE is so cool they did everything on their own.

In every single possible situation the CE has to win. Be it politically, culturally, religiously or militarily.

At this point I've grown to not pay attention to CE lore, but if you read the examples of Good vs Bad lore from >>75034251 the CE falls squarely under bad lore.

The territories were already establihed the only new lore was Yoxi, but I got you. Here we go. I also added the Sing On lore that wasnt posted on the wiki.

>Yoxi

One of the oldest civilizations within the empire, Yoxi has a longstanding history as a source of Souxi Culture.

−
−
Yoxi was one of the first lands conquered by the Dan Su Do and he used the wide tracts of land as center of horse breeding for his armies. When his empire split into the northern and southern portions, Yoxi became the heart of a mighty Souxi Kingdom whose cultural influence pioneered Calvary tactics.
>>
>>75036637
Im sure that he can get better if he writes full blown rewrite. No one is beyond redemption
>>
>>75036771
>He will rewrite Technobarbarian lore so they never attack the Celestial Empire.

Never happened. One anon pointed out raids were rare because of 1. where technobarbarians were focused on, and 2. The mountain range made it really difficult to come and go. Nobody rewrote their lore. And during the Tnz'qran raiders discussion, an anon against Tnz'qran dominance had proposed Technobarbarians raiding all the way down the Capital instead. It was ultimately decided against.

>He will throw a massive tantrum over the idea of the CE loosing to the Tnz'qran Raiders 1200 years ago.
So, first: losing, not loosing. Second, the argument, which you missed, is that Celestial Empire didn't existed back them as the Empire. And the discussion wasn't about losing a war, was about being completely conquered. Anons arguing against it simply though the map blob of a Tnz'qran empire that also nomed up Celestial Empire current landmass would be too big and uninstering. In the end it was accepted that Tnz'qran raiders did conquer lots of territories in that area, defeating the pre-celestial kingdoms there. It was also added a period in which the Ivory Kingdom conquered the -actual- Celestial Empire. So you're being a complete ass by conveniently forgetting to mention this.

>He will throw a tantrum at the proposition of the Ce Pantheon being tied to GE, because CE is so cool they did everything on their own.
An anon didn't want all nations to be alien influenced. Was hardly a tantrum. A tantrum look more like what you are doing right now.
>>
>>75036771
>>75037070
>In every single possible situation the CE has to win. Be it politically, culturally, religiously or militarily.
Except their culture is backwards, their technology is behind Westrasi in many aspect. The only time the thread as a whole 'defendend' the Empire against a 'loss' was when an anon(you) wanted to have a guy have a Rape-gene to mind control the Empress. Rape-gene lore proposed that nobles had it to control peasants and that would explain why empired existed for 5k years without rebellions or civil wars. Anons explained that, among the many reasons that idea was bad, the main one was the empire did not existed for that long and it did had rebellions and civil wars. Of course rape-gene anon never acknowledged any of this.

>At this point I've grown to not pay attention to CE lore
Much earlier than this point and it shows.

>but if you read the examples of Good vs Bad lore from >>75034251 (You) the CE falls squarely under bad lore.
Only in your opinion which is objectively wrong and based on lies and misunderstanding.

And now actual Lore buffing.

>Territories of the Celestial Empire
When Xin Eac-Chon completed the conquest of the Dandio'Orde and unified the modern Celestial Empire, he knew his newfound empire would need a firm basis in nation building.

In addition to commissioning the creation of three new languages , Ea-Chon divived the enw found empire into six territroie with and additional seventh to be the seat of the emprie itself.

The territories allowed a consolidation of government power and allowed him to strength allies and weaken enemies. Parcels of the Tnz territory were cut and given to rival governor-generals and traditional cultural states were legitimated with territorial boundaries.

Today each of the six outer territories is ruled by a Governor General who acts mostly independent of the central empire. Each assigns a representative in the capitol to advise the Empress. While they nominally serve the throne, most of the time they act to push the interests of their homelands in the capitol and many have had heavy sway.

From North to South, West to east they are

>Daodao

The farthest north territory and a hardy land thought to hold hardy people. The current husband of the empress is the Governor of this territory and his support was a major reason why she could claim the throne. Daodao has the capital Ting Daodao and also oversees the land of the mountain monestaries

>Sin Ong
One of the long standing rivals to Xin's from the outh, Sin Ong i usually the second most powerful territory behind Celestia proper. They were awarded former Tnz land and have ace to the Yari pas and its garrison.

>Dandio Orde
A desert land of conquered Tnz people, they were forced to cede their riverside territory when conquered , though valor in the Ivory War granted them independence on par with other territories.

>Ion Dan
Built over the former old city of Dan Ion Dan i the most culturally rich of the Souxi lands and hosts ruins from many ancient river kingdoms

I like that. You should add a tiny blurb of the capital city of each territory too if you have the disposition. And/or current Lord-General

>>75037154
>Zarinan
The most rural of the territories it is usually used for framing and lumber. Zarinan is the smallest of the territorial capitals and ther largest attraction is the Trade Bazaar in the High Hills by which Celestia trades with Westrasi markets

>Celestia

The capital of the empire formed in the homeland of Ting Kisari, it's territory is the onyl land in Celestia under the full and total contract of the Imperial throne.

>Yoxi
See above

>Xiaxia

A border territory constally dealing with poor land and outside threats. Its borderes were designed by Ea-Chon as both a buffer against invasion and as a way to weaken his rivals in the South.

The empire was a consolidation of several culturally related but still in many ways independent states. They spoke several dialects that while mutually interchangeable , still differed.

When the empire formed the standardized the language into a "pure" Celestial language and formed a writing system to go alongside it.

One was "low/common" Celestial, which used a new alphabetic script and was a simplified conlang streamlining the dialects.

"High/Priestly/Noble" celestial was purposefully written only in the old hieroglyphics to gatekeep it from the commoners and so has a lot more archaic phonology and grammar.

This was aided by commoners having low literacy in the first place so they were basically starting from zero there.

The whole thing was a nation building effort to replace a "Yoxi vs Daodao vs Zarinan etc." dynamic with a "Nobles above Commanders and fuck all non-Celestials" one

Ask the anon whi has admin rights on the wiki how many anons contribute to Celestia. It's at least 5. I'm one of them but not the only. But I can't think of a way to figure out how how many whiny bitches who don't even read lore before whining we have. Because they don't contribute.

> They lack navy
No they don't. They both raped the Glutton in a naval battle and their Diplomats claim Westerasi ships to be primitive.

You can say those claims are exegerated, but in the very least they gave a navy.

I Cntrl+F'd the wiki and there is no mention of them lacking full plate either.

Also fake. At the start of the War with the Tnz'qran raiders they owned half the land they do now. So they didn't loose 29% of their land, they gained 50% and never lost any land in their entire history.

>>75037488
As far as I know that was supposed to be their main gimmic, so I didn't bother mentioning it, but yes. Them being the best at literally everything else too makes this more jarring.

>>75037585
In universe, what do the Celestials consider the Xin? I know a big part of the nation myth of Celestial is linking the Current Emperor to Ea-Chon who is linked to Tinq Kisari who is linked to Dan Su-Do, but what is there "canonical" list of Emperors?

Especially since during the Xin-On era you would often have multiple claimed Xin.

They lost wars in reverse order to

>The Ivory Kingdom

>The Magna Orde

>Themselves

>The First Orde

They also are the weakest nation in terms of magic and have a very weak central government
>>
>>75037686
The First Orde existed way before the CE did, admittedly they also won said civil wars.

I just explained how they won against the Magna Orda, but K.

Enlighten me on the Ivory Kingdom then.

> Weakest in therms of magic
The magic assassins and magic assassins school sure convey that :)

> Weakest central government
Considering they have a standing army and bureocracy in a feudal/tribal world... I press X furiously
>>
>>75037616
Glutton wasn't a naval battle. Was a land based army defending against a landing. The ships who partook in the batlte are explicitly mentioned to be Ecinevian mercenaries paid in glass coins who joined after the ambush had already fired.

The modern EU is a lot like the EU or Peloponnesian Leauge. An alliance of related states with some shared authority. The goveneors pay lip service to the Empress but she cant really force them to do anything in the same way a Wetsrasi king could
>>
>>75037843
Wrong. Read it again. They have a smaller armada face them and load up multiple boats with explosives to go kamikaze.
(Which clearly shows, they have boats to spare)

>Modern CE*
>>
>>75037771
They have 1 magic thing. Magic inclined nations have way more than 1 order of Holy Assassins. There's no Celestial liches, no Celestial mega cannibal pirate, no celestial magical siege warfare. There is a leyline on the World wall where the temples of the holy assassin order are. Also their magic is very subdued. Essentially some soul-bound blades and some stealth minor tricks.

>Enlighten me on ivory kingdom
Not that you deserve it, but 300-250 years ago, the Elephant Lords invanted the whole southern third of Celestial Empire, and occupied it for i believe fifty or sixty years before Tnz'qran raiders native to Celestia helped a counter offensive that finally kicked them out. Having a third of your country occupied by 60 years sound like a defeat.

They also failed to ever expand towards the major Ordes, which means their current size, while big, is the result of failing to be even bigger.

>press x furiously
Go back to V. They are highly bureaucratc but each governor is basically a minor tributary king to the Empire rather than the empress/emperor servant. This has been said countless times over and over. Central government only means there's a organization that spreads through the hole territory, doesnt mean the authority has control over the high ranking members of this organization. The meme is that even more than the Empress, it's the bureaucrats that rule the empire.
>>
>>75037864
This is nowwhere in the lore. It's not on Westerasi lore either and Westerasi is feudal not absolutist monarchies.
>>
>>75037885
I read it. They Empire doesn't use any Imperial boats in that battle. I defy you to post a section of the Glutton battle that talks about any Imperial boats that are not Ecinevian Flamethrowing ships. I will literally email you a thousand dollars if you find a section that mention Imperial kamikaze ships.

I think you mean "lose." So sure, france didn't lost to germany in WW2, right? After all german occupation only lasted what, 3 or 4 years? It was clearly an overwhelming french victory.

I guess you could also argue that muslins didn't lose the first crusade since they eventually got Jerusalem back?
>>
>>75038027
France won WW2, they were literally in the peace conference. The first Crussade was won by the Papist, subsequent ones by arabs.

The Ivory Kingdom war you mention is 1 war, like how WW2 is one war, so yes. The Celestial Empire won it.

>>75038001
I like how you ignore CelestiaAnon, moving goalposts and just not addressing things he was wrong on again. Like the clai that "celestial Culture" is backwards while everyone praises and loves their culture.
>>
>>75038017
What gives you that impression?
>>
>>75038027
To give some credit to other anon, there is difference between war ending in failture, and just prolonged war.
If this isn't prolonged war then counteroffensive is really bad word. Unless ivory kingdom and celestials both agreed to peace deal, and then celestials declared 2nd war and defeated ivory kingdom, then celestials just won the war after long time of no troop activity.
Also france won ii ww with help of Alies, to say anything else is not being truthfull.
>>

You got corrected on Glutton Battle and ignore it. You got corrected on the Orde wars and ignored it. You got corrected on magic and centralization and ignored it.

The Glutton battle is wrong, same with the Orde thing. The Magic thing is fair enough I guess, but the only problem is that we have plenty of nations which don't use magic at all or in the very least don't have literal Assasin Hogwards.

>>
>>75038650
I proposed 3 rewrites to her all were shouted down and this thread she was also updated to the settings 2nd greatest badass right after the Westerasi Mary Sue.

Celestia lore is bad trough and trough, it has some nice details, but without rewriting many of it's foundations it just can't work. Heck the only reason it works now is because people assume all the writefaggotries of CelestiaFag were intended to be exegerations and not factual. Where both the "lul, me kill K'elle'han' and "lul, me 8000 non magicians kill 100 000 men and kill the glutton" were written with spite and to be literal. (how do I know? It was in the notepad)

I checked the Glutton story btw. There is a part where is is said that "longboats are sent out", when I read it I thought that the Celestials did, but it is written in a way that is ambiguous and it could be either side releasing them.

I have my doubts if this guy is rape-gene anon or not. I didn't think so until he brought empress up. She has zero lore except what -didn't- happened to her. So thinking she's a sue sounds like something only the anon who wanted authority gene would do.
>>
>>75038847
The Terravia rewrite took me 1h or so, because t has little lore. A CE rewrite would take me 2 days only for people to start freaking out after.

>>75038856
It was never a rape gene, it was never sexual. Some pervert decided to coopt it and it became a meme.

Why Sue:
> female Empress, no one questions her rule
> hyper competent and beautiful
> apparently setting's biggest bad-ass

>>75038881
That's just the Eta'Orda. The K'elle'Orde and Hte'orde are trying to LARP as celestials.

>>
>>75038995
Rape-gene anon confirmed.

Was the barrier your idea too?
>>
>>75038985
I was not attached to the authority gene idea. I was just confused how the Celestial Empire stayed as stable as it did for 4000 years.
(I know that's not canon anymore, but back then the timeline discussion still went on)

I just copied an idea from a manga I was reading and proposed it as a fix, and then for some reason this was spun into /d/ shit for some reason which was basically just a way to dismiss the idea without addressing it fairly.

Now the same people who fell for the /d/ meme shout down every tiny bit of criticism against the CE referencing a piece of lore none of them read or gave a chance.

Am I a bit upset than an idea I proposed sincerely trying to fix lore, was twisted into hentai and trolling? Yeah a bit, but in hindsight it was generally a bad piece of lore and it's good that it's gone. Do I think it is shitty that now it is used as an excuse to not have to fix any of the Mary Sueism of the CE? Yes by all means.

The Domination Gene and Barrier Anon are both just stupid, you see genuine ideas for improvement shouted down by referencing that not letting an of the lore be fixed.
>>
>>75039071
>>75039017
That was re-conned with the Deletion of the "Domination Gene" thing.

The K'elle'han is no longer an actual contender for the Imperial throne and is back to just having ties to the ruling dynasty. It's like you people don't even remember which lore you retcon.
>>
>>75039105
Nope, that one was not me. It was not a rape gene either. One guy memed something not related to sex into something sexual and it continues.

Btw. BarrierAnon likely just did like 4 posts and never showed up again, he's a straw-man.
>>
>>75039133
The Kellehan vying for the imperial throne was established way before the domination gene thing. The setting doesn't even allow hard retcons
>>
>>75039109
If you can't see how /d/ the idea was in the first place, before it was "twisted", you have to be very naive.

It was a bad fix proposed for a problem that didn't exist. When people sais "no", you, or whoever did propose it, sperged out for a long time. It's unfair to say the idea was never given a chance. But it's more unfair to forget to mention how bad the guy proposing it took to hear "no". He literally shat on two threads for that. So I have a hard time feeling sorry for someone who can't deal with being denied on something admittedly bad and unnecessary
>>
>>75039109
Even without the sex meme it was fucking retarded.

The idea that every celestial noble magically brainwashes the peasants was stupid and the idea that a longrunning plot thread (the Celestial Kelle Orde cold war) would be resolved with gene magic was shit

It was a dumb solution to a problem that didn't exist because Celestia, like Japan had one "dynasty" but was still a politically unstable mess off bullshit that went through several political regimes and phases and warring states.
>>
>>75039105
No, I'm barrier anon. I've got nothing to do with the rape gene dude, though my barrier posting was partially a dig at the guy. Trolling these threads grew more entertaining than making content, but even that's grown boring at this point.
>>
>>75039133
Lies.
>>
>>75039195
It had multiple dysnatis...both Celestia and japan.what you talking about?
>>
>>75039192
To me the guy spamming /d//d/d/d/d/ was the sperg. I tried explaining what the idea was supposed to be and people kept spouting the same old meme. Some other people the started trolling because the thread basically devolved into people screaming /d/d/d/d/d/!!!

>>75039195
The instability thing boggles me. Keep in mind back then the "lore" was that the idea of a civil war was foreign to Celectials.

Say what you will, but since then a lot of the issues with CE lore were ironed out. Like them being a 4000 year old Empire with an unbroken imperial dynasty which never had any internal strife. Now it's at least implied some civil wars took place, even if it's not in their official lore on the wiki.
>>
>>75039230
The Yamato Dynasty has had technical control of the throne for its entire history.

Of course, just like with Celestia, that doesn't mean a single family was rulers of the nation for milinea, nor does it mean the nation as it is called now existed as it did for all that time
>>
>>75039269
>unbroken imperial dynasty which never had any internal strife.
Their EARLIEST FUCKING LORE established them as nation with a weak central government that had a long warring states period. What the fuck are you talking about.
>>
>>75039207
Aye, I did a fuckton of work on the setting too, but I also did some of the major trolling. There were times where trolling the threads was just more fun than making lore.

And if anything it helped keep this shit alive. The Thread is now faster than the last 4 last ones were.
>>
>>75039289
Yes, but then later lore contrdicting that was added in the "Ages" as well as in Treant and Qi-Fu lore. Back then there was a debate over with which lore to go.
>>
>>75039318
Also where exactly was it said to have had an unbroken imperil dynasty?
>>
>>75039327
That was implied from them never having a civil war and not understanding what that is.
>>
>>75039318
The Treant's and Qi-Fu lore never set firm dates for when they were inspired by the CE.

The biggest knot was the person who wrote the Ancestral lore, because the dates they gave for it were rightfully called out as a source of a cluster fuck.

THAT'S why people jumped down there throat, not any "celestialwank" but because having the Treants and the Celestials going to war in the 1300s would be the source of a massive continutty snarl.
>>
>>75039353
I'm pretty sure that the people were decided to not know about civil wars because of serious propaganda. They're taught that the Celestial Empire has always existed, but it has fragmented thoroughly multiple times.
>>
>>75039353
Post the actual quote that implies it.
>>
>>75039353
...

You are on like five levels of retarded right now.

1. That was written by an in-universe author who in the very thread it was written in, was pointed about as being full of shit, Texas school board style. This should have been readily apparent to non-retards because they had already been established as having a long warring states period that was referenced in later lore.

2. Even if your smoothbrained ass somehow assumed that a fictional character saying something that contradicted written lore somehow made a retcon, just becasue you havent had civil war doesnt mean your government is an unbroken dynastic line, there are several non-Civil war methods by which a dynasty can supplant another.

3. At the time there was no date given for the start of the CE, so your "4000 years old imperial line" is you wanking to some imaginary strawman, the only source for that was the person writing them fighting in 1300, which every called out as retarded and which you say you are AGINST for some reason.

It is fucking insane that explain shit to retarded is the best way to discuss lore here but hey whatever it takes
>>
>>75039355
Then why is Celestiawank still a thing? WHy is every attempt at any nerf or lore rewrite for them met with extreme hostility?

Seriously every piece of lore in GE can be criticized except 2:
1. Westerasi
2. Celestia

All because every tiny bit of criticism is straw-manned or Dismissed as "BarrierAnon" or "RapeGene".
>>
>>75014958

For the wiki, how should we add notable figures. Such as heads of state, both current and former.
>>
>>75039412
I will like and subscribe to your patreon and go to your ted talk if you present me an argument for why Celestial Empire is a sue that is not, unlike other arguments here, based on you misunderstanding something.
>>
>>75039412
There is no hostility to a nerf because there is nothing to nerf, there is hostility to you being a fucking retarded who sees some mystic OP nation where there is none.

For gods sake you call the Empress a mary sue becasue... she exists.

You have this cosmic hateboner for the CE and you act like you are being persecuted because no one wants to retcon the lore around your autism.
>>
What's more Mary Sue:
>A young empress who is doubted by many and has the divinity that comes with her status questioned. This was literally the only lore about her that existed at the time of the rape gene's creation.
>The warlord who carries the sacred bloodline of the ruling family of another nation and who has a gene that allows him to effortlessly dominate anyone from that other nation.
Besides, let's just face it, you were setting up the Celestial Empire to be dominated by your preferred nation with that "rewrite." You weren't looking to make them more interesting, you just wanted to play favorites and damn a country that you didn't like to being subjugated by one that you did you like in the immediate future of the setting, and that's even if we discount your weird attitude of "this woman is mary sue solely because she doesn't kneel and submit to my favored character."

Also going to point out that the Orde-CE Plotline was their primary narrative hook in the setting so this person made the CE LESS interesting by writing out their primary conflict.

Wrong, that and writefaggotry not being canon was pointed out after the Domination gene thing. You have your chronology fucked.

Someone not understanding the very idea of a civil war implied to me they don't exist. If I misinterpreted it, 'K, but a retard like you who keeps simping for the Empress and repeating the same tired meme over and over has n right to call me a smoothbrain.

> At the time there was no date given for the start of the CE, so your "4000 years old imperial line" is you wanking to some imaginary strawman, the only source for that was the person writing them fighting in 1300, which every called out as retarded and which you say you are AGINST for some reason.

There was, we had dates for the Age of Collapse when it started and ended, both the Treant and Qi-Fu existed in them and were said to originate from CE, so it strongly implied CE being 4000~3800 years old.

Have you maybe considered that the fact that maybe if the only way to get you retards to talk about the lore is to get you to sperg is says more about you than anyone else?

This thread and the previous one were fucking dead. Start some minor drama and it goes mach 11. It's clear you fucks are here for the drama not to workon the setting. None of you joined or contributed to the projects going on now nor any lore recently.

Reminder that Rape Gene anon is the guy who read this:
>As for the boat that shall carry us to the city of Tharnux, it is a rather strange thing. It is long and slender like a narrowboat, yet it is of the same size as the junks that we use to sail the Dan-Fo. At the same time however, it uses oars for the purpose of propulsion as well as sails. Is this the sort of ship that is used to traverse the Westrasi Sea? It is not a particularly spacious vessel, and many of the expedition's guards have no choice other than to sleep on the floor beside the sailors.
And thought this:
>Except a Celestial emissary traveled to Westerasi and complained how much worse and more primitive their boats are compared to the celestial ones..., but ok.
It's established that the guy purposefully misreads and misinterprets any lore that other people write, and quotes shit which was outright never written at all.

>>

Well that entire war was involving the First Orde and then it was folded into canon as the origin of the the north Celestial landmass having Tnz in the first place. SO its kinda baked in now.

It REALLY shouldnt havebeen added to the wiki but it happens.

The current line is that Souxi Kingdoms particpated in the war and that the current CE considers it an extension of those kingdoms

Wrote this one.
>>
>>75039781
Its retarded as fuck but since there is an Ion Dan city on the Dan FO river I wrote it as being the modern successor to the ancient state.

I'm from /co/ this level of snarl and wank is baby tier compared to the shit at dc and marvel, lucky we havent needed a crisis yet
>>
>>75039553
I've read that shit and it reads like something out of a hentai script or a bad fanfiction. Not only the plot smells like someone forgot to fap before they wrote, but also the characters depicted were far from their previous characterizations. Aside from the Empress, but that's because she was relatively unfluffed before. But the Orde guy, the way you wrote him made me think "how the fuck is this guy supposed to do 4d chess with Celestials" because he blatantly showed openings, poorly-thought openings, that the other anon exploited in their rewrite with the surprise wasp assassin. Mind you while the second story is more interesting it still leaves a bad taste in me mouth.
>>
>>75039910
How could you write that, then write the mind control gene bit, and not see how the latter shat on the former.

You don't read it. The K'elle'han was not doing 4d chess because the OG thing clearly states that he does not know about the gene.

Him knowing about it was added in the poorly written smack down.

>junk
A type of boat that is not particularly small.
>wharf
A structure on the shore of a harbor or on the bank of a river or canal where ships may dock to load and unload cargo or passengers.
>small
The word 'small' isn't used anywhere in either of those posts. You'll need to quote the exact section where the word 'small' is used to describe the boats, please.

If you are going to make a claim, you need to have evidence to back up your claim. At best, you are an easily confused individual with a poor grasp of the English language, who doesn't understand what words like "junk" and "wharf" mean in these contexts. At worst, you're purposefully misunderstanding and misinterpreting everything you read in order to support your own argument and undermine any argument against you.

Comics and online collaborative worldbuilding reinforced my love for eachother

I remember doing Spore games and potting out epic timelines and plot hooks and crossovers like I was fucking Grant Morrison. Shit was cache
>>
>>75039976
Thing is. It didn't. The idea was misunderstood. It was misunderstood because I described it wrong so the blame is on me on that one.
>>
>>75040013
Setting up a plotline that would be immediately resoled if the main characters ever met in person is really bad idea.
>>
>>75040046
I really think you have a strong misunderstanding of lore, which is casing you to rage against an imagined mary sue empire which is causing people to counter respond.
>>
>>75040031
I am not familiar with naval terminology... I thought junk is here used as a synonym for "trash" and wharf is something similar to a raft, so badly cobbled together barely swimming planks.

The boat has nowhere to sleep on. She does not say literally small, but it is implied. You are way to retardishly literal, I have literal autism yet somehow unlike you I get what fucking subtext is.
>>
Speaking of Ordes, no one has done Orde lore in a while

Anyone want to flesh out some of it?

You're the one who created it yeah?

The two of us probably wrote 90% of the Orde lore between us, I hope some others can get in on it.
>>
>>75040144
Yeah, now I know.
>>
>>75040103
Do not leap to make assumptions about how advanced ships are or are not, if you are not even passingly familiar with naval terminology. At the very least, look these things up before you try to twist them in favor of your argument.

And if you're going to use the spaciousness of a boat as an argument in favor of Westrasi ships being "much worse and more primitive ... compared to the celestial ones," then you have hilarious criteria for what counts as technological advancement.

Come on everyone knows that Junk is colloquially used to mean trash. This is not twisting anything.

Why do you interpret this as her calling Westrasi boats junk, and not as her calling her own ships junk, since she is talking about the junks that "we" (the Celestial Empire" use?

Either you misread those posts so thoroughly that you didn't understand what was written at all, or you're being maliciously ignorant in order to give yourself a leg to stand on.

Is it me or there's one or more anons who call every female character a mary sue even when it's not the case? I mean, there's been so sues, I don't disagree. >I would have rather had 10 posts of useful discussion rather than 150 posts of an argument we already had four times now.
I'd rather someone actually wrote some non-suck lore.

The core thing about Celestia is that, for all its internal dysfunction, it is able to field the largest infantry armies in the setting by quite a long stretch, and is entirely willing to use this. However, they're not too keen on expanding through the Wall of the World or the World Spine as the country up there is brutal, and most of the rest of the eastern border is desert with not really all that much there. Because of that, they prefer to have the eastern neighbors be puppets (even if unruly ones) and can tolerate the differences to the west and north. And that's the core of the geopolitics of Celestia.
When the "free" Ordes get unruly, they get put down (and that's why the Dandio'Orda remains able to almost operate as a state within a state; they're the main bulwark against this trouble). They're getting more restless at the moment, but the time to strike is not yet there (and might not come; the K'elle'Orde are actually more worried about the Khanate).
And the Ivory Kingdom are a thorough irritant as they refuse to be nice little puppets. Fortunately, their eyes are currently elsewhere, with the way things are stewing up in Nulamore and at Kanna Knot.
Other lands might be hovering toward war in the near future, but Celestia is relatively quiet in the year 5000. Except for internal politics.
>>
>>75041048
In fairness Vargen Khan didnt get that kinda shit either.

Frankly it seems to be one person who keeps harping on sue shit.
>>
>>75041082
Yeah the CE is the big civilized internal politics 1950s style storyline shit.

Outright hard war is more for the Khans
>>
>>75041082
I also think that Celestia has a matter where...They 'can' field massive numbers, but they don't know if they 'will' when the time comes. It's fair easier for them to fight a defensive war because most Lord-Generals will commit to fight foreigners. They are xenophobic and want to preserve their position. But if the Empress wanted to Invade the Ivory kingdom, they would likely 'get delayed' in sending troops until she dies, or have a very 'weak draft' and send levied peasants, hiding their professional soldiers behind claiming one bullshit or another. The the Emperor's are somewhat aware this is the case. So they need to negotiate with their 'vassal' generals to get their full strength. This ties their hands a lot in what they can do.

But also, it's not risk free for the generals to be bitches. if they refuse to help in a war but a lot of others do, then they'll fall in disfavor of the Emperor, and as soon as regional rival has a chance to remove that lord general to get in power, they will because the Emperor is more likely to accept their power move. While the Emperor might not do so if you are dethroning a 'loyal' general. he might accept, or he might call for your head. Or send assassins after you. it all depends on a complicate, byzantine set of internal alliances, politics and expectations.

Frankly i'd love a story where the K'Elle'Han takes the throne of Celestia finally, succeeding in their decades long scheme, perhaps dethroning Dan Ming or right after she dies...Only to find that now that they have the Imperial Throne, they aren't leading the empire. They are trying not to squirm not to sink in quicksand, and stressed and occupied with trying to keep track of 'who hates who' and 'who conspires against who'. And then realizing that's not just cause they are new arrivals. That's the reality of ruling the Empire. All Emperor are threading water just to exist. And that's why so many 'abidicte', or die early of natural causes
>>
>>75041082
I had an idea for doing some stories about Aeetl Han and Xin La Mi basically Aeetl trying to establish his new vision of the future and the tragic fall of the Second Great Orde
>>
>>75041227
Hell, Dan Ming's ascension to the throne is a tale of betrayal, conspiracies, nepotism and subterfuge.

Heir guy wants to kill dad, Dad finds out, Heir guy forced to become monk and abdictate to second brother. Second brother tries for a year and goes "oh no, fuck this shit" and abdictate to third brother. But there's a daughter in the middle and third brother super young, so a group who dislike the 'would be' regent for a potential super young brother push forward woman who maybe didn't even wanted to be empress and go "Here. She has support of her husband, she can be empress." as a way to give middle finger to would-be regent.

She immediately sends her husband far away from the capital and it's not clear if seeking to have a loyal army to control far away regions, or because she wants him out of her life.

Either way...None of that suggests a stable country that's safe to rule.
>>
>>75041227
>Dan Ming willingly gives up the throne to Kelle Han

>Kelle Han fucking crashes in burn like the dog that caught the truck

>Dan Ming comes back and is heralded as a hero for saving the empire from a foreign bastard

>This gives her seize the powerful of an ACTUAL head of government

Keikaku Dohri
>>
I want to write smut on this setting. Would anons be receptive to that or does smut bring out a bad crowd?
>>
>>75041227
Although how exactly does Kelle Han have a claim to the throne.

He is a matrilineal cousin so I am guessing its like a Victoria scenario where he and Dan Ming had the same grandmother.

Past Empresses were said to have been regents or last living heirs so maybe that's why she had to intermarry a Tnz .
>>
>>75041305
>K'Elle'Han and Dan Ming only pawns of a even lesser known faction who just wants to make bank on all that.

that's kino
>>
>>75041346
I wonder who could be behind this

>Le happy Oni face
>>
>>75041339
my headcanon is that there's no "law' against women being Empresses but the emperor gets to name their successor among their children like a limited tanistry, and they almost always name the oldest male.
>>
>>75041317
You can write smut, I don't care. White what you want, but I'd prefer you make it non-canon
>>
>>75041292
Also aid husband is of he powerful Sin clan, and Sin Ong is said to be the most powerful province of the Empire (besides Celestia itself)

And yet he isnt the general of Sin Ong but the farther north mountain region.

Interesting...

>>
>>75041305
I really dislike the random K'elle'han bashing. Can't both he and Dan Ming be competent? Does the K'elle'han have to be incompetent for her to seem 'cool'.

I'd preffer both are competent so we have an actual political game and rivalry of equals using their various streangth to vy for the imperial throne, not: CE-Empress is super smart and good and the best while K'elle'hand is stupid and bad.
>>
>>75041466
Wasn't really meant to show him as incompetent, just like the idea of questing so hard for something and then getting it an realizing it actually fucking sucks.

Like fantasizes about this throne he believes is his for so long and then he finally gets it and it not what he imagined it to be
>>
>>75041466
It's not random, it's a response to the person who longs for K'elle'han to dominate Dan Ming and the Celestial Empire both.
>>
>>75041466
I think it's not about competence. It's about insider knowledge and expectations crashing versus a hard reality.

>>75041547

I collected some pics as an example of how you could imagine Mendul's minions. They come in many forms and shapes, from big and small, two or four legged, animal or human like. The variations are endless and very disturbing. They serve one purpose, exterminate organic life and those who stand between the Machhine King and his visions of an artificial utopia.

I think Satyrs are supposed to be kind of like goat-goblins while faun are the pretty ones. I might be wrong but I believe that is roughly the IRL mythology.
>>
>>75030955
Bugbears don't exist as of yet. There's been some complaints regarding the sheer number of races so I don't know if adding them would be well recieved
>>
>>75044347
Satyrs are lustful goatmen with huge penises, big hairy bodies and beards (everything, including the big penis, things civilized greeks though was bad and barbaric). Faun are more sanitized but also a later addition to mythology. Early satyrs represent the savage inside every man, every bestial instinct. The conflict between civilized and savage. The faun is a more renaissance take that didn't get that dichotomy
>>
>>75044347
According to wikipedia satyrs started out goblin like and gradually turned more pretty as their mythology evolved, while fauns were always pretty. By Roman times they were pretty much interchangeable.

I guess this one is more of a satyr in the original sense, while the more faun like ones are also called satyrs., though Jalaina is hardly an expert on fey so she may have just gotten them mixed up if fauns end up existing in this setting.
