Here's the summuray of what we've got so far:

>Our group is a bunch of pirates
>We're female only, we were originally gangers
>We serve Chaos Undivided
>We are highly devoted to Chaos
>We were gifted Aesthical Changes and Physical Protrusions (twice)
>Our headquarters are located inside the nightmare of a host(s), where there is no life and no air
>Those worthy to lead are those who got enhanced b the Gods the most
>We homegrow our own troops
>We specialize in siege tactics, most likely from emerging from a host(s) dreams
>We are proficient in stealth warfare and heavily use vehicles
>We are equipped with Warp Blessed Wargear
>Our leader is a champion of Chaos
>Our champion has once defeated the Chapter Master of a space marine chapter in 1v1, making them our mortal enemies
>Our allies is another group of mortals devoted to chaos
>
>>
>>77218586
I feel like we can be good opponents for one of the more mainstream IF successors, like the Iron Knights.
>>
>>77218636
Iron Knights seem nice! Can the sons of Dorn fortify their own minds though? It would be a shame if their unprotected psyche opens a path for our group!
>>
>>77218586
Maybe our allies could be some of those Fabulous Bill "dark doctor" types that help us grow more of our girls.
>>
>>77219053
Not a bad idea, since we're not tech-wise, the only other option is the... natural way... which might tread too much on magical realm desu (if we go by rolls alone)
>>
I think we should find a name for them... any suggestions?
>>
>>77219482
The Forlassian Hellburst

Forlassia was the world where the dream plague originated.
>>
>>77219638
Nice

I was thinking Talons of (Insert Champion)
>>
>>77219638
I'm personally not sold on Fortassia, but I feel we're getting close
>>
Further idea

>We're from the homeworld of the Iron Knights
>Long have our sons, brothers been used as recruits for the Corpse Emperor's 'Angels' with many dying during training, let alone battle
>The Marines saw us women as little more than breeders for the next batch of recruits
>Well no longer shall that be so
>>
>>77219777
Do you think it should be a more English name?

>>77219779
The IK homeworld is called Brycantia.
>>
>>77219838
Not sure... I think perhaps it fit more of an IG regiment than what we have? Thought I wouldn't be impressed some Imperial Fist successors name a planet Fortassia (or something similar).

>>77219779
Considering there isn't much going for them in lore, it might be something nice. Though we are gangers in origin, so it might be more of the men slaving away in factories, all for mankind to survive during this eternal waar... and there's those near-immortal schmucks who treat war like a game, unaware of our suffering.
>>
>>77219779
I'm reading from the Iron Knights wiki page right now. We can set ourselves up as a real foil for these guys.

Their specialty is heavy assault. We seem to live in a dreamscape that you can't besiege except with psykers.

Their homeworld is entirely devoted to making arms and materiel for them. Maybe the reason we have so many vehicles is because we steal from them.

They have a very hierarchical "everyone serves in their own way" attitude, while we are actively undermining their hierarchy for selfish reasons.
>>
I'm growing to like the concept more and more!
Though what would be our relation towards the Iron Brethren? Since they are a chaos warband who split up from the Iron Knight and there's barely anything about them?

Also what would our champion look-like? What's her story?
>>
>>77220166
Iron Brethren can be our allies instead, I guess. Maybe they can be the source of our champion, since champions tend to be or have been chaos space marines.
>>
>>77220359
Nah, I prefer our Champion to have come from our band thieves and whores.
>>
>>77220359
Personally I'm more inclined towards keeping Space Marine influence to a minimum (like having IK as enemies)

Perhaps the Iron Brethren were the catalyst of our rebellion? It would have opened our eyes that the Emperor's angels were not divine, just super human assholes in power?
>>
>>77220758
I like that

Going off my earlier idea. How about our Airless Deathworld was the moon of Brycantia? And the Iron Brethren attacked the IK and that's how we got corrupted?
>>
>>77220853
Could work. That or when they decided to turn to chaos (since their only historic bit is turning heretic and fucking off in the warp).

Perhaps our host(s) could be hidden inside the moon (it'd be surprising why they haven't been found yet), or the nightmare dimension itself is airless and void of life?
>>
>>77218636
We could perhaps create our own IF successor to oppose this group as well
>>
>>77221118
We could, it is always fun to roll dices... but would it mean something if we don't writefag a bit beforehand?

We could turn it into a new Chaagrut Sector, if we manage to gather more people.
>>
>>77220958
>In lightless deep, the Hateful sleep, and sing of blasphemous wonders
>In faithless minds, corruption finds, and a dream is torn asunder

>>77221118
>>77221485
You've got to have things catch on before adding more stuff, otherwise you manage to have both bloat and underdevelopment. Right now we have all-female Chaos fighters (calling them pirates seems a little weird given everything we rolled) who invade dreams so they can manifest in the real world with a penchant for besieging, and have enough mechanized firepower to go toe-to-toe with a SM chapter can come out ahead. That's metal as fuck and needs more before you start throwing out more SM chapters.
>>
>>77220166
I got an idea for the champion... what if we took inspiration from Bloody Mary (and other lady-related ghost stories)?

Her mutations are her fusing with her Warp Blessed Wargear and having shards of crystals coming out of her. She would strike through mirrors and her mission would be to spread as much fear as possible so she could induce nightmares?
>>
>>77221901
I know it seems odd with the Pirates roll and everything else, but it's more or less correct.

Its how they get material
>>
>>77218636
>>77218876
That’s fucking hot. Love it.
>>77221819
Dream Rakers? Dream Quakers/Flesh Rakers?
Crowned Terrors (of Chaos Ascendent)?
Simply the “Nightmares”? Messengers of Chaos Undivided?
Night Mavens?
Maybe something to do with them manifesting from particular guys dreams?
Like if you dream of them, your weak and unfaithful to the emperor, or a champion particularly targeted by chaos.
Testers of some kind? Indicating they are a trail corpse worshipers will die in?
>>
>>77221819
More an Imperial nursery rhyme admonishing children to say their prayers and remain faithful otherwise their dreams will be used by Chaos bitches to murder everyone and everything they hold dear.

From everything in this thread I'm getting a massive New Age fantasy vibe to them, Mercedes Lackey meets Clive Barker. Lots of neopagan imagery; they're the classic, beautiful people of fantasy with crystals, and robes, and dreams, and shining armor, then they burn out your soul to open a doorway to the real world and the last thing you see before your consciousness is claimed by the Warp is them slaughtering your family. You know, an all around good time for everyone.
>>
>>77217006
>>77221819
>>77222078
Maybe having to do with how our world is airless, we’ve been physically changed, and the myth that dream creatures tend to Paralyze and steal the breath (or bodily fluids if succubus) of those sleeping?
Soma somethings?
Breath Stealers?
>>
>>77217774
>>77219053
>>77219117
I think we seem to be more magical minions then straight up biological horrors, even if we are actually both at the same time.
I vote for being homeboys with some chaos wizards or Thousand Son Sorcerers.
>>
>>77222078
The Nightmares sounds very ominous
>Like if you dream of them, your weak and unfaithful to the emperor, or a champion particularly targeted by chaos.
Testers of some kind? Indicating they are a trail corpse worshipers will die in?

That is pretty brutal, yet oddly fitting for 40K.

>>77222112
Exactly!

>>77222243
Maybe the champion could be named Azrael (or Azraa-eel or any other name of the Angel of Death), like in the prince of egypt movie by dreamworks?

>>77222303
We could have witches in our ranks... how about "Crones"?
>>
>>77219779
>>77219838
>>77219976
Maybe instead of being directly from their home world, we are flotilla of chapter serfs that fallow them?
Our “demonic steeds” or daemon engines are just menial mechanical construct servitors originally purposed for laborious work around the flotilla.
Maybe all the male serfs died after they were emergency conscripted into an Iron Knights war effort when their ships and the flotilla were directly attacked by daemons: The attack being orchestrated in small part by us, a sacrifice and act of devotion to the chaos gods who then sucked our rickety ships in the warp and reshaped us into dream demons for their purposes.
Maybe the iron knights and the men were derelict in their duties in someway or otherwise wronged us, which is why chaos shaped us into marine killing dream psuedo daemons.
>>
>>77221819
Something to do with retribution? Since dreams are normally haunting visions of the past and or prophetic insights to the future?
Haunts of Requital?
Requitalers?
Requietters? get it? Like he they’re telling corpse worshippers to shush, like women do to baby’s?
>>
>>77222336
>crone
Nice. The Malefic Lord would be a crone, or every rogue psker of bunch would be called a crone?
>>
>>77222336
>>77222544
Why not just call them Witches? Conceptually the witch hits a lot of the notes we're going for.
>>
>>77222544
I think it depends on how many psykers we want to have. If there are one/few, Crone would be a good name. It could also be a rank among psykers? >>77222595 is right with the term Witches too.

I threw the idea of Bloody Mary around, but I'm open for more suggestions on the champion. A spyker is a start.
>>
>>77220166
When we’re the Iron Brethren created?
I’d like to say the split off either long before or after the creation of these pirates, but including them as a footnote to the treachery of the Iron Brethren might be cool too.
>>
>>77222595
I like crone better then witch, and our girls seem more naturally imbued by chaos for what they do, rather than being arch sorcerers, so I would put up that actually psyker might be rare in their ranks, beyond that if the basic warp manipulation and travel that chaos seemingly gifted all of them with.
>>77222614
I like the Bloody Mary concept I have no idea myself what the champion should be like.
The idea of an eye of sauron or Bloody Mary type attraction and reaction to their own personal invocation is cool though.

>>77222614
Witches is just the term for psykers/sorcerers in the ranks. Though I'm not really sold on having a psyker as the champion. It's just a personal thing but I feel like it's a little overdone. I do like the Bloody Mary idea and aesthetic, especially if she's not just a champion but also a kind of herald who can implant the idea of the warband in the minds of a populace to help them appear in dreams.

Pic unrelated but looks cool.
>>
>>77222641
From the Lexicanum:
>A number of decades before the end of M41 a group of Iron Knights known as the Iron Brethren turned to Chaos.

>>77222686
That I agree, it would be a urban legend that slowly spreads among the Imperium. The more people know about it, the more it spreads.

>>77222717
I agree. Looks like our champion's concept is shaping up!
>>
Too shill my requital idea again, if a little more seriously; the girls might see their corruption and murder of corpse worshipers as them receiving their own dues for some reason? Or on behalf of the chaos gods? Out of pseudo-familiar and matronly convictions.
Maybe, since they strike out of dreams, as apart of their ritual self dedication to the ruinous powers, they were all mortally slain and reborn, and so now they scour the open minds of the unguarded imperial citizens for those ready to be reborn into the chaos gods, freed from their false dream world of reality and released into warp?
Requital or Requiem could maybe be the name of their great daemon engine they traverse warp space in.
Requitalor could be a designation or rank in their order?
>>
>>77222766
Checked, the idea of them being
>called out to in a dream
by the imperial citizenry, and seeing themselves as saviors and protectors sounds really cool to me.
Especially since they come from the serf population of a legion called
>the Iron Knights
Very fairy tale esq., sleeping beauty like.
Inverted and chaos tainted of course.
Now sleeping beauty is horned, daemon is, bloodthirsty, & lives in the dream world!

The Red Dream.
>an old woman stood just outside the edge of the gate to the hab-block you were scheduled to patrol with a begging bowl at her feet
>the crone was dressed in odd clothing - a red void-suit that had been torn and repaired with patches of every color but what she started with and beneath the wrinkles on her face you could see that she had been stunning once
>she beckoned you over quickly, as if she had a wonderful secret to share
>she reached out her hand and you expected perhaps a scrawled note, promising details on ganger movements in exchange for a hot meal and some leniency from the other arbites
>instead the object she passed you felt bizarrely heavy
>you clasped it to your chest, staring down at an intricately cut ruby
>you swear it was just your eyes playing tricks on you, but staring into its facets for that brief moment, you could see a shining city
>she began to softly sing a lullaby while your eyes were transfixed on the gem, worth more than what you would make kicking in ganger heads for a decade
>you couldn't make out what she was singing - it sounded like a foreign tongue and yet out of your own childhood memories
>you tried to close your eyes for a moment to remember where you had heard it before as you reflexively tucked the gem into your pocket when the first shot rang out
>after the smoke cleared, you searched for her in vain to ask why she had gifted you this, your ticket off this smog-filled hellhole
>when you finally returned home, blood-soaked, you went to clean off the filth of the underhivers and the gem slipped out of your pocket onto the floor
>in its facets, you saw a reflection of a place covered in similar crystals, where the locals wandered languidly in painted robes, and the local PDF wore armor that shone like a pyre
>you suddenly felt very tired and trudged off to your bed still wearing the gut-spatter of a juve and as you began to drift off, your vision grew red and a name slipped from your lips...
>>
>>77223039
I think the “dream daemons” or entities in the warp merely reshaped the fledgling sorority for their purposes: creating actual fully fledged daemons of dreams out of them, who are more capable of physically manifesting: the girls fulfilling their goals and purposes “of their own volition”, with their own personal spin on things.
The warp just wants to consume, but ostensibly something was preventing these denizens from properly getting at the the Iron Knights, their serfs, their women in particular, or all of the above the way they wanted too.
So then these girls stepped up and took up the horned mantle and started SUCCing dudes souls out through their dreams. Not stopping, the situation spiraling unto madness into the chapter master himself fell victim for them.
>Slain Chapter Master was Truly Heroic Paragon. Chapter Master Princeton. Died trying to save them, realizing too late it was a trap he couldn’t overcome. (Maybe 4 “warp fairy’s” did him in)
>Current Nemesis Chapter Master is 40k Don Quixote, shielded from their psychic THOTTERY by his single minded madness, his legion being all Sancho’s who’s doubt and sober destitution and cynic nature will be his and their ruin.
>>
>>77223131
Giving anything some sort of influence or control over them completely ruins what we're going for. They're doing what they do because of and for the Ruinous Powers, they're not some meat robots for dream demons. It'd be like rolling up a SM chapter then saying that some techpriest calls the shots.
>>

>>77223190

>>77223211
I was about to object because surely the IK have a current chapter master, but the wiki only gives the name of a previous one that got slain during the War of the Beast
>>
>>77223309
Exactly.
Although now I want our chapter champion to be a Maleficent expy, the head of a ruling party of 4 Chaos Champions, and servant of chaos undivided.
the other three being slightly tzeentch, nurgle, & slaanesh aspected respectively.
They’re all powerful psykers, and represent the 4 gods and 4 warp entities that lead these serfs girls to damnation and the practice of spiritually piratry and violent pilfering of souls through the warp and dreams.
The three drones and the thing in the trees from the Witcher work too.
Maybe the champion is imprisoned by three lesser champions who use her to fuel the powers of their sisters and themselves. She may even be now bound to one of the Daemon Engines they’re known to utilize in their material plane assaults.

Aren't you coming back to the same problem? Replacing CSM by Psykers?
>>

>>77223413
I'm guessing Khorne isn't too much a patron of ours? We're very Sorcery/Subterfuge focused.
>>
>>77223479
Chaos Space Marines were never mentioned not one (1) time in this entire thread.
I don’t see how it doesn’t address the issue of taste in question, where the girls aren’t the actual focus, but some random off screen demon rubbing his hands and talking through them like puppets.
That’s a cool story too, and very likely could be partially incorporated into this one, but it feels wrong in the spirit of creating these guys and what’s been rolled for them to be nothing but meat puppets for warp entities.
Especially since they seem a lot scarier then your basic warp demon as they are at this point.
>>
>>77223484
Khorne just doesn’t like psykers, so I was going to say the entire legion is just vaguely khorne aspected when they manifest and start running dudes over going 100 in their daemon engine.
>>
>>77223516
I am also against the meat-puppet idea and want to focus on the girls.

np, before you go, just wanted to drop this in ya: azrael seems like a cool reference/name, but a little heavy hitting for our girls yeah? Maybe that’s the name of the warp entity that inducted us into the cult of chaos undivided.
Maybe he was playing all sides, trying to corrupt the Marines through their Chapter Master, & the Serfs both male and female, but our girls played out to be the only ones he could get for one reason or another.

>nightmare pirate gals
Yes please. I can imagine a 'merchant' ship(s) innocuously translating into a system, docking in orbit, and only once the nightmares have fully taken hold on the world below do they fly their true colours and lay siege from the void, from landed vehicles, and from the monsters made manifest from the dreams of the impure. Watching Black Sails has given me a mighty thirst for Age of Sail piracy, and 40k is that but in space.

What sort of general aesthetic changes would their gifts manifest as? What sort of gear do they favour? How do they show reverence to their dark patrons?
>>
>>77223964
I suggested Azrael, but the more I think about it, the less I like it... I'm pretty indecisive aren't I? I'm all for someone opening their eyes to Chaos as an alternative, and unless we write our own fluff about how the Iron Brethren became chaos-worshippers we better stick to less SM the better. They prevented us from taking the planet when the warband suddenly grew in size and forced us to retreat, but at the price of their Chapter Master... how about it?
>>
>>77224037
>What sort of general aesthetic changes would their gifts manifest as?
They're glamored to conceal their very monstorous traits, with horns and odd skin hues being the most common so far
> What sort of gear do they favour?
I'd say fairly simple stuff, but they back this up with their 'magics'
>How do they show reverence to their dark patrons?
At first it would all seem rather Wiccanesque, but once they show their true colors it turns into a fitting Chaos fueled disturbing series of celebrations
>>
>>77224037
Yeah. Our girls probably have most of their first contact through dreams, softening up the crews defenses for who knows how long in advance.
Dreams can feel like a life time.
The girls siege them with Daemonic suggestion. >>77217471
Then they slip into reality unbidden, dragging their warp infused engines of war with them, tearing their victims from the inside out. >>77217567 >>77217774
>>77217899
Daemon Warped Body’s & Flotilla galore.
I think we are probably soul thieves and slavers more than conventional thieves after material objects though.
>>
>>77224037
We got as gifts Aesthetic changes and Protrusions (x2), so we look pretty daemonic with horns, claws and extra limbs (perhaps even wings?). We also got Warp Blessed Wargear, vehicles and we are pretty talented in sneaky siege warfare.

For Aesthetics I suggest them sharing a common theme (like clothing), but otherwise the girls are all pretty different from each other.
>>
>>77224037

To continue:
> What sort of general aesthetic changes would their gifts manifest as?
I like a lot of the art ITT. Specifically >>77216529 >>77224037 >>77222766
Respectively.
The first one being them in real space. The second being them in dreams.
The third being their cultists spreading their teachings and names across the galaxy.
The more I think of it, the more I like them preferring 3 of the 4 chaos gods, even if they are undivided as stated >>77216441.
We got 3 blessings after all. Someone skimped!
Or maybe khorne gave us all our blingy weapons.
>What sort of gear do they favour?
what the dark gods gave them!
they seem pretty well supplied and favored by chaos.
pretty much everything about them is blessed by chaos. their weapons, daemon engines, themselves, but I’d say they rely very heavily and prefer to extensively use and abuse mass daemon engine spam.
Every girl get Daemon Unicorn! That’s how chaos got em in the first place.
Maybe perturabo even supplies them some of those infected with his special virus becuase he loves the way the girls break people and conduct war.
Perty would also love how they’re undivided and their arch nemesis is an Imperial Fist successor.
outside of those, whatever they may be, id say they favor bolt pistol & chainsword, items they stole from the corpses of the slain Iron Knights who continue to chase them.
>How do they show reverence to their dark patrons?
I think it’s how they use their gifts to destroy loyalists.
They pray for more gifts, say thanks for boons, and then go of to
>nothing personal, sweetie
all the corpse worshipper they can.
They see ruinous powers as having imparted them some truth, and they in turn say thanks by spreading across reality, in their minds saving them all (maybe how they wish they were saved to, idk, I think they’re backstory should be they were desperate for deliverance from something for themselves and their kin, and that how chaos got em.)
>>
>>77224583
It should be
>their cultist
>them in realspace
>and >>77217774 then in their dreams.
I like the third picture too, but it’s probably more representative of somewhere between their cultists and them in real space.
Maybe it’s their cultists/mortal fangirls trying to emulate them and enter their ranks.

>only have 5 combat ready ships: the chaos corrupted wreckages they salvaged from the vessels abandoned by the Iron Knights when they fled their ascension
>never even get used
>girls just roll up to the planet in their horde of non-combat ready daemon fused transport barges
>most peaceful raiders in the galaxy
>defending crew is always either in a wakeless sleep or has been indoctrinated over several lifetimes in their dreams
EZ
>>
>>77224751
>>77224843
What kind of naval vessels are they?
>>
>>77224875
As >>77224843 said, a bunch of stolen IK vessels. Mostly Escorts with their 'Flagship' a Light Cruiser of sorts
>>
>>77224875
If we looted them from IK, it would most likely be not that big of a vessel, especially if we got 5 of them. Consider the IK were probably stolen some of their fleet when some of their members turned traitor...

Now that I'm thinking about it, we maybe stole one small ship, but we used it to spread our influence and get other ones.
>>
>>77224269
>They're glamored to conceal their very monstorous traits, with horns and odd skin hues being the most common so far
They honor those most blessed by chaos though.
They are fantasy chaos warriors in that way.
Maybe the most powerful ones reach some state halfway between spawndom & demon lord status where they just become archshape-shifters though.
>>
>>77224956
I'd be down for it. They could also stay in a "beautiful" shape when they influence someone in a dream perhaps?
>>
>>77224929
>>77224937
The Iron Knights are crusaders, so it stands to reason they may have some navel capability. Maybe only the flag ship is from them though, the rest were gifted from senior heretics as good will or stolen for self defense purposes.
It’s seems safe to say the girls are pretty horrific on the assault or in a siege of their own volition, but who knows how they do when their waylaid in real space themselves.
Or worse yet, the warp.
Luckily the gods seem to like them and their arch enemies are dorntards, right?
Sometimes it really just does come up all millhouse.
>>
>>77224996
That was my thinking.
The most powerful among them can “will unto reality and the warp as their own conscious dreams” kind of deal.
Screw it. I concede.
They’re already saturated in warp magic.
Might as lean full into it.
>>
>>77225072
Since we specialize in stealth and siege, if we got trapped in real space with no ambush it would go horribly for us. The ships are mainly to spread our influence from one world to the other...

How about those would be Rogue Trader ships? They go from planet to planet, spread rumours about us and other stuff, hide one or more of our hosts inside the imperial world, then go on their merry way? We then burst out, plunder and kill everything, then come back to our nightmare dimension! Afterward we share the loot with the Rogue Traders!
>>
The Warband probably have to be careful when they first invade the dreams of a perspective victim.
If they hold them too long and expose them to too much of the warps power, they may be instantly purged, spontaneously erupt, or manifest and project their dreamscape into the surrounding reality before the time is right.
>>
>>77225299
We could fluff on how they first ascended and their first conquests (like 2-6 worlds) and emphasizes on how long it takes to cautiously take over a planet.
>>
>>77225295
A few (more mundane) cults of heretics dedicated to spreading the name of the warband would go a long way.
Who knows how often they leave their victims in a condition were they’re capable of being “independent” agents who can do so though, since souls are their major focus when they plunder ships.
>>
>>77225451
Good point, maybe they put on a bunch of more 'traditional' ways to generate agents? Seduction, Drugs etc
>>
>>77225447
>>77225447
My idea is:
>Iron Knights heading out into space to crusade as usual
>majority of serfs, vast majority of elderly and underage women in cryo-sleep.
>daemon brushes the SM’s, thinks better of it
>daemon brushes with waking serfs of flotilla, is nearly exposed
>daemon instead influences the dreams of those frozen, 4 in the women dormitory specifically.
>crusade fleet reaches warzone of <insert idea here>
>things go poorly, things go well, doesn’t matter: because during the war, the serfs ships have been calling on the eye of cause unto them.
>all the women fall into a stasis like sleep
>Chapter master senses the taint of chaos is about to send them into the sun.
>surprise daemonic incursion erupts over on the space marines ships
>can’t safe travel while enemies nearby.jpg
>rally the peasants! all the male serfs are instantly conscripted and sent bodily into the meat grinder of chaos
>female bodies, abandoned in the chaos, wither and die rapidly, spontaneously combust, bloat into giant trees, however it happens it doesn’t matter: life supporting servitors can’t do anything. They all die, but still they live on.
>oh shit.jpg
>in the middle of life or death combat, EVERYONE falls asleep on their feet for a micro second, and in their they see a hellish scene play out for each and every women on their ship
>they see a different Emergence tier grim dark fairy tale play out for each women, before they all converge as group at a ritual field in an airless daemonworld at the center of all this madness.
>>
>>77225447
>>77225789
>half are consumed, unworthy, while others are ritually reborn as the quasi daemonic chosen of chaos they are now known as; in a ritual where all those who bare witness, they the onlookers, are sacrificed to the man.
>snap back to reality
>all the serfs have erupted in a spray of gore and implosion of warp energy: their newly reborn daemonic women folk erupting from their heads like Athena from Zeus.
>goodnews: for each woman born this way and serf sacrificed, a daemon also bled back into nothingness, spent to fuse and create this new being.
>bad news: the tide of exploding and imploding warp energy tore up everyone and everything an the ship, and four women in particular managed to murder the chapter master in this suddenly erupting nightmare, the chaplain witnessing in each the image of something even more sinister in their moment of triumph, before the greatest of them consumed the treacherously stunned and bound Chapter Master in a self consuming sea of green warp flame.
Idk why they did it but that’s the vague outline for how I see it going.
After that I think they chill in warp space for a while being wreathed by the chaos gods, chilling with the Iron Warriors & Perty, & drag racing with their Daemon Engines before heading back out to pirate fully kitted out, infused & interred in the ways of warp fuckery.
>>
>>77225484
I think it’s something like future investments for them.
Yeah they have their main marks they’re about to plunder enslave and suck the souls from, but they also have to cast some little wrigglers out into the aether of the great darkness of the galaxy.
I’d say less majestic rogue trading vassals, and more small space dingy equivalents who are cast into space, avoiding the soon to be fate of their ship and fleet, only to be “saved” by other ships and spread their curse to such “saviors”.
>>
>>77224269
>I'd say fairly simple stuff, but they back this up with their 'magics'

The fact that they are:

>erupt into the enemies ranks from their own damn heads
probably means these girls are all heavily and ornately kitted out and toting gear comparable to your average chaos chosen from fantasy when they head into real space.
They ain’t there for money. They’re in it for the RIP & TEAR.
Pic related, I’m thinking as the Sororitas are to Space Marines; these girls are to Obliterators & Mutilators.

Given how they operate, they don't actually need naval vessels. They corrupt through dreams until they're able to use a person to fuel a portal to the Warp; there is little point to having a fleet when you can basically teleport everything and everyone one you need.

Yeah, but they can’t be raiding or loitering on other heretics ships during ALL their down time between raids.
They need to float around the warp on SOMETHING when they aren’t doing either of the above or doing keg stands on their airless death planet in the warp.
>>
Chaos bless you for making L&D that aren't just edgy guardsmen.
>>
>>77227277
I think a very strong cup of exactly that comes with our girls.
Can I get a critique on my Mutilator/Obliterator idea?
It just seemed to fit them since they’re so heavily “blessed” by chaos physically and armament wise.
Paths daemons might have even showed them visions of Perturabo and it instantly turned them to chaos on the spot, as they saw to awaken to his ascended state.
>>
>>77227282
They "live" in the Warp, sleeping in an airless, lightless void as they search out the dreams of the corruptible. Once they start they press until they bring the dreamer into their thrall, at which point it is sacrificed to open a warp portal that allows them to enter realspace. Their existence is a mutable concept, which is what makes them so difficult to fight. They can appear at any moment, they can bail at any moment, and if you want to strike at their home you've got to head right into the Immaterium and hunt them down.
>>
>>77227489
What you're talking about here is a daemon, not Lost and Damned.
>>
>>77227489
I think they’re less mutable then actual daemons.
Also, they do have a home planet that was rolled for them.
It’s an airless death world.
I just think it happens to make sense that it be in the warp.
It seems cooler that way.
Theyre basically daemons in every way except physical in my mind.
>can travel and live in warp
>suddenly summoned into real space
>seek to sprain taint of chaos
>empowered through chaos
>still “just” heavily mutated chaos blessed & reborn women
>>
>>77227487
I'm not really sold because how closely linked they are to CSM. I'm not really down for CSM ties in general given how we've got Space Marines tying into their background in a pretty negative way. I feel like to them CSM would be the same bullshit, just in a different hat.
>>
>>77227487
I'd rather be connected to obliterators than be a handmaiden to Perty.
>>
>>77227521
>>77227570
They're very much real, they're just indelibly linked to the unreal. Shoot one in the head after they manifest and they're dead. Shoot one in the head while they're in your dreams and nothing happens because dreams aren't real. Scour the Warp for the airless, lightless planet where they slumber eternally and shoot them in the head and they're dead.

Though I imagine that any sufficiently powerful psyker, sorcerer, or faithful can harm them in dreams.
>>
>>77227776
Again, that's just a daemon. Mortals don't just manifest anywhere in the galaxy through people's dreams unless they're amongst the highest calibre of psykers.
>>
>>77227670
That’s fair. They don’t actually have to be infected with the virus, but was more focusing on the fact that they may look heavily armored with natural weapons in real space, rather then whatever form they may take in dreams.
Personally I do like the idea of them being taken not of by the iron warriors though.
Maybe your right in the fact that our girls just hate all marines, or even see Pertys marines particularly as similar counter parts to Dorns & the Iron Knights.
>>77227691
So you’d be cool with them being Doctor Jekal & Mister Hyde? Succubus in the sheets Freddy Kruger in the streets?
Also how about these for abridged alternative ideas for them to be related to the oblit virus:
>there’s no real relation besides aesthetics
*OR*
>daemons show them a vision of perty/mutilators/random oblit
>they don’t even know what it is, let alone that it was/is a CSM.
>pledge allegiance in a dream to chaos undivided on the spot, if they will give them strength
>wake up, forget up about everything, but the bargains been struck.
>DUN DUN DUN

Basically I’m asking: Yes or No on the heavy armor & weapons blessed by chaos being and fused directly to their flesh?

What are the rituals like for their summoning?
Are they imparted to the victims in a dream, and carried out in reality?

what’s the time frame like?
How many people need to take part to summon one girl?
To summon the entire legion?
what’s their name again?
>>
>>77228297
I'm still supporting "the Hellburst" because they burst out of your dreams and shit.
>>
>>77227814
Also, even if it is still a stretch, maybe it isn’t total coverage “from anywhere to anywhere”.
Maybe they can only call to people in their dreams from the warp somewhat ubiquitously.
They still have to travel to their general location, but as beings lost & damned to the warp, they can travel through it in ways the corpse worshipers could only dream of, as if they were instantly teleported and summoned from infinity.
In fact: they use the ritual time to prepare, traveling to warp space surrounding their target.
From their they lurk just beyond the veil of reality, arm wrestling, playing monopoly, and singing karaoke, until it’s finally time to buggy on down to corpse worshipper town and free some souls unto the warp.
>>
>>77228362
That’s my favorite too.
For some reason, my mind shut off after “Forlassia” though & totally missed “Hellburst”.
What is the inspiration for Forlassia? I couldn’t think of what it might be a fantasy derivative of based on.
>>
>>77228419
It was just a suggested name before we decided that they originate on the IK homeworld.
>>
>>77228297
The primary method of them coming forth is to manipulate a person in their dreams to agreeing to serve them, at which point the person's soul is then burned off to create a warp portal allowing them to enter real space. Exactly how long or large the portal is varies depending on how long it takes for the soul to burn out. Once one of their members manifests in realspace she can perform more formal rituals to summon the rest. How long it takes to bring someone under their thrall is highly dependent on the person, as they need someone weak-willed enough to come under their dominion but strong-willed enough to not die immediately when used as a conduit. I figure you're not getting much more than a handful of them out of a single dream conduit before the conduit bites it. The entire point is that they subtly sneak in a few at a time to begin preparation to bring in the main force, whether it be through direct or indirect means, then attack an unwary populace. Unlike the rest, the Champion can be summoned directly a la Bloody Mary.
>>
>>77228895
Was thinking of something along the lines of
>three consecutive rituals, each on their own night.
>one ritual attendant for each not! Succubus summoned
At least for the rank and file.
Their champion can be true to form & teleport at the drop of the hat.
This also gets there to be some tension and build up, some hoops for the girls to jump through, rather than just blowing some guys brains out through his dreams and exploding onto reality 1000 girls deeps.
They can only do that if the prophecies and warp will it.
Generally though they’d need to do legwork, synch up their thralls ritual schedule, sprinkle crack all over the crew in their sleep etc etc, before night erupting into the place.

Since their ENTIRE warband seems to be a rogue psyker coven.

Since their primary means of combat after dream based warp fuckery,is teleporting themselves & their personal daemon engines out of their victims skull & up their said victims own ass hole.

Since it’s cute, piratey, and representative of the warp tainted mass of roots that they truly are just beneath the surface. They lurk in the warp just below the thin veil of reality, drawn to reality only the “distant untouched beauty” of dreams emerging from the ruinous mire below for all to see (before they burst out & slasher flick everyone).

Maybe they have a name known among the Worshippers of ruinous powers who respect them & the imperials who fear their legend:
>Astral Sirens, Exalted Shades, Crowned of Chaos; important sounding designations etc
& a common raiding name they are known by when they’re slumming it in meat space among the common renegades and imperials crewmen.
>Warp Lilies, Hellbursts, Nightmares,
People might not make the connection between the two, besides the wicked few ruinous powers who are around them enough to understand their powers & machinations & NOT understand the confusion, still calling them by the first name options, as bequeathed on them by the Ruinous Powers.

Long story short, I vote for Exalted Shades or the Astral Sirens.
Exalted Warp Sirens?

>>77240854
Your on to something... them having many names... but we'll pick a main one. >When the Wren appears before you, it is there for a reason. The Wren is an inspirer, it will inspire you to realise dreams. This bird is frequently heard but seldom seen, you may of heard it and failed to get the message and so it appears before you, to inspire and motivate you into making your thoughts a reality. It takes just a day to build it's nest and will attach it to the bark on the enchanted side of the tree, it will get the sun in the evening and will absorb the heat for the cooler nights.

>The Wren will come to you to guide you through the dark time. It has the ability to pick its own route through the brambles. It knows when to be heard and when to be seen, it has old worldly knowledge of destiny and past life. It is heard by people choosing to listen but is only seen by people that it allows to see.

>People that do see are people light by nature and light of heart, material things mean nothing, as do emotional dramatics, hystrionics and emotional entanglements. As day turns to night, the wren will ponder, reflect, settle for the night using the sunset to prepare for sleep, meditate and bring the next day to fruition, what has happened is in the past, what will happen is going to happen anyway. Now is the time to enjoy the heat of the sunset and sleep, to dream and manifest reality.

>To be able to stand out of view, yet be involved, to be heard and not noticed, acknowledged but not idolised, this skillset is afforded to the few. The light hearted, easy, inspiring energy of the wren changes situations, one of the smallest resident birds in the UK the Wren is seen by few but has influenced so many.

>When the Wren appears before you it is telling you to accept the things that cannot be changed, change and adapt to the changes as they happen, see the good before the bad and be ready for new beginnings. The Wren will only bring change when you are ready and he has appeared to let you know of the changes coming your way.

We went for something special by combining two different creation tables and have made something that we are happy with that feels new to us.

While their champion did beat a chapter master, I will agree that the common Psy-Wren is no equal to a Space Marine, and like established earlier, their main strategy is ambushing a planet's defense from the inside with subtility and to do it quickly. Anyone that have the drop on them, that are expecting them and are prepared, or can sustain their assault long enough to regroup and strategize are likely to dominate them in my honest opinion.

You've missed my point entirely. Space pirate girls that sneak into fortified worlds through dream-like rituals is cool. Space pirate girls that corrupt weak-willed lowlifes into opening gateways for them to do so is cool. Space pirate girls that plunder and pillage and offer the gods a share in return for the power to live free is cool.

Super magic demons that live inside 'nightmares' - being the warp, which no human being can actually interact with to any material degree - and can appear anywhere in the galaxy by influencing literally anyone with no requirements and everyone is a top tier psyker and this and that and the whole kitchen sink is not cool. It's just a weird power fantasy that doesn't function within the setting. It removes any narrative interest because they're on a completely different level to every other entity in the galaxy. There can't be any suspense over their success because they are so immeasurably overpowered.
>>
>>77241927
>I am not sure about phrasing it like that (the so good part), but I do like the dynamic
I like the dynamic too, but I don’t see an issue with them being good warp navigators.
Chaos is already generally better at warp travel than imperials anyway, so it doesn’t matter much.
Never played Battle Fleet Gothic, but if they had rules for Warp Navigations, I’d give them a small bonus for being outright Chaos Worshippers.
Then I’d give them another small bonus for being Chaos Worshippers that chaos has favored.
Otherwise they would be a standard renegade psyker coven when it came to navel battles.
Also
>I vote that their flagship be (re)named the White Lily
after they stole it during their ascension & murder robbery of the Iron Knight, they took to the warp and had it loaded up with bound daemons & rum.
Their fleet probably looks like pic related give or take.
Just with only 4 medium sized ships in addition to the big flag ship, an no small ships, as all the rest of their flotilla is probably non combative or at best boarding action only.

Well they are more heavily mutated than demons (since it would imply they get possess, which would take some of the fun away)... I suppose we didn't made it clear, or we went too hard on it...

We got his for their headquarters:
>Nightmare Host: The Warband occupies no "real" place, for it lives inside the mind of an insane individual, and nightmares are temporary gateways to reality.
I'll admit I didn't find something in the lexicanum explaining what a Nightmare Host entails, but my initial though was that we live in a host(s) mind that we keep hidden and through dreams and other mystical shenanigans we can manifest ourselves into a planet. I also suggested that one oncdition for their ability to appear is a victim having some kind of knowledge about them, which is why we have agents/ships to spread the "good word"... but do you got more revisions that would better fit? I'm open to hear what you have in mind.

They're explicitly not demons, they live in an eternal slumber on an airless deathworld inside the Warp (functionally no different than the planets within the Eye of Terror), they influence people's dreams in an attempt to get said people to sell their soul to them so they can use it as a doorway to the real world, then use that foothold to bring in the rest of their forces. That's it. It sounds more like you're taking parts of posts out of context and building a strawman to attack.

The dude's soul will belong to Chaos, and we plunder the planet and give our glorious masters a share hoping we will be blessed with more gifts.

Chaos pays well bitch.
Helps you grow BIG & STRONG.
Especially when you are competent, chaos worshipping, marine killing mad lass, who’s first act after being reborn & reshaped by chaos in its image is to gank a 3rd founding chapters chapter master.

>>
>>77250097
I always interpreted their “stealth” as their dream infiltrating hijinks.
Can’t get much stealthier than that, and when you explode a guys skull after being summoned, I don’t think there’s much room for stealth.

Also
>You got pics with that? It could help decide.
Pics of what?
The thing about juggernauts is theyr basically only mountable by Khrones elite.
Our girls have been physically blessed, armed & armored by chaos, so I’d say they are between chaos warrior & chosen levels already, and whatever they lack, they can make up for by dominating the beast in its dreams before they do it in person.
Thing is: khorne doesn’t like psykers.
But maybe our girls dream powers are purely ritual and innate, NOT! Psychic powers. Like his priests & daemons.
>>
>>77250255
You are right for the stealth part. For the pics I was talking about the Flesh Hounds, Juggernauts, Maulerfiends... it helps writing fluff.

Well they are Undivided, so if a beast wants a pure Khorne follower won't it cause problem? For the psyker bit... it's complicated I think? They have Psykers, but also it's more of being blessed by chaos than being flat sorcerers, so I guess it's like the priests and daemons? Perhaps some of the beasts accept only those who have been blessed by Khorne the most?
>>
>>77241496
>>77241518
I was thinking, their chaos spawn units may be like really prickly chaos blobs based off of actual sirens & melusines, always psychically REEE’ing and clumsily flying around the place,
Since they are mad, like all chaos spawn, they might be used as oracles by the heavily chaos worshiping Psyrens, communing with them through the dreams of their victims, nightmarish worlds where they make more sense.
>oh Chaos Porcupine of Spawndom, what is you wisdom
>FEED ME CORPSE WORSHIPPERS
>>
>>77250405
Yeah, maybe just Juggernaut LIKE creatures, still gifted from Khorne, but his discount knock off versions.
Same for the flesh hounds. They aren’t world wrecking god dogs on a mission from Khorne himself, just horse size chaos abominations cherished by the girls as if they were the former.
>>
>>77250492
Yeah, it fits better

>>77250422
Our group will definitely have more respect for them than any other warband. Also a higher amount too. I wonder if it's possible to graft armor/weapons to a Chaos Spawn, or make it a Daemon Engine wannabe? Or use them as a vehicle/dreadnought equivalent?
>>
>>77250255
>>77250405
>>77250492
Take a page out of what other Undivided groups use. Personally I imagined them not using a lot of Chaos beasts, preferring a mesh of technology with the evil New Age fantasy aesthetic.
>>
>>77250614
>Or use them as a vehicle/dreadnought equivalent?
I don’t think the girls would need too.
They don’t seem like the type to ONLY IN DEATH DOES DUTY END type internment’s of each other.
They aren’t marines, and apparently don’t like marines.
They may also see death as something to be embraced as the warp in turn embracing them.
Especially since their summoning rituals are all to do with guy exploding, & the own ascension story into the folds of chaos has them dying once already anyway.
They see death more as a salvation.
Their bodies and their spirit are all they need.
Emphasis on the spirit, since the body is for the will of the warp.
They have other daemon engines already also.
And if the spawn where from their own ranks, they are already incorporating the girls weapons & armor:
>since the girls themselves are already inseparable from the greater part of their arms and armor.
At least, I’ve been operating under that premise, as presented earlier on in the thread.
They chaos spawn probably wouldn’t need any special rules either to cover their flavor, fearsome is enough.
They have got 2 wings, 2 tails, & a can do attitude though!
>>77250918
I agree, but also think the “new age fantasy aesthetic” is covered by the Baroque architecture & heavy metal inspirations of their ships & armor.
Class 40k.
I don’t think they use “classical” renegade gear & vehicles.
Seeing these girls hop in a chimera would be very lame and unpirate like.
Same goes for them hoping in a pilfered marine tank.
The cannons on their ships are enough.
Mauler fiends get them the rest of the way in their “blitzkrieg sieges”.
Then you have potentially:
>nests of scurvy heldrakes roosting in the peaks of their ships
and as for juggernauts... I think that one line in the roll for their tactics daemon engines just sold me on them being mounted on something daemon engine like, & since mauler fiends aren’t a mount option, I went with juggernauts.
>>
>>77242746
While they’re on the planet, they are slumbering, since that’s the only way to “enter” it usually.
Normally they are up and at em like every other good heretic, outside of their home world of course.
A goofy thought: maybe Psyrens can’t actually get any proper rest since their “embrace” by chaos, and that’s why they can “operate properly” on their dream world home, and in the dreams of others.
Maybe a downside of their chaos boons is:
They can only “sleep” by ritually entering others dreams (through sacrifice bloody rituals perhaps) & even then they have to constantly proselytize and temp their hosts to stay and spread their name, stay & spread their dream, so that their influence over the crew can grow to the point they can butcher them in their chaos tainted madness.
Only when they erupt from the head of the sacrifice in a spray of gore do they feel truly refreshed.
That might also be a sign of someone in the last stages of the PsyWrens astral communions & rituals:
>inability to tell the dream from reality
>high blood pressure
>>77250492
Maybe that’s where the NOT! Fleshhounds come in too. While not completely dampening like true flesh-hounds, they may soothe the plight of the girls with their still somewhat psychically sedating presences.

Long story short:
>they rolled insomnia on the mutations table
>they can only enter other people’s dreams ritually for rest, and so try to get people to sleep in
>the only thing that actually rejuvenates them is getting their hosts to summon them & exploding out of the dude(s) head(s)
>the not! flesh hounds are for moral support

It's Chaos, so eternal sleep without rest seems like the exact kind of contrary dickish thing that would happen when you go full Chaos. Chaos was never supposed to be fun, just liberating.

>>77251140
I was thinking more along the lines of the SoB. Sure they've got a tank, it's also a giant pipe organ that launches missiles. Shit like image related is what I'm talking about when I say technology.
>>
>>77251374
>not entering dreams makes them go crazy
they are already crazy though!
I like the idea of them degenerating if they don’t though.
It’s just that it probably never has the chance to happen, since our girls are always on the hunt!
>Those who died (from not performing their ritual duties to chaos) that way were unfavored by the Gods or were too weak
Sounds dope.
Also sounds like a good source for SPAWNDOM.
Our girls are leaking chaos tumors left and right.
They favor the heavily mutated though, so maybe they see spawndom as an ascension itself.
>Psyren doesn’t properly seal the deal
>hasn’t been farming her simp bucks properly hasn’t met her quota
>AAAAAHHH, NIGGERMAN, IM GOING MAD, SAVE MEEEEEE
>becomes unraveled in dreams she enters
>dreams become more like nightmares, meaning she never is able to fool retards into her summoning her any more.
>bloats into sludge.jpg
>turns into chaos spawn outside the dream
>sisters pity her for her inability to take care of herself anymore
>envy her for her mutations
>honor her for the madness she can spread in and out of dreams
pottery.
>>77251567
Yeah, I don’t think they really are in any danger from their lack of sleep.
It’s just chaos torturing them and giving them incentives to murder rape people in and out of their dreams.
Also nice image. The girls definitely love chaos sentinels, covered in a fine layer of “dream dust” & Eldritch horror.
>>
>Every sleep is a little death.
>Every dream a death shriek into eternity
>>
I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty tempted to ask the anons on 40K general if they got rules to this army.

That and requesting arts in the drawthread.
>>
>>77251938
Chaos Spawn are taken care of the best they can, in the hope their dark masters will reward them once more... kind of like Foulspawn.
>>
>>77252336
I’ll just drop a bit more of my own take I guess.
Warband: Psyrens
Traits: Dream Raiders, Awaited Embrace (Melee Tards)
>Dream Raider: generic deep strike rule, maybe add a couple riders like:
>Nightmarish Reality’s: any unit that starts the combat phase within 3” of a unit with this trait, that was set up that round, fights last”. Paralyzed as if in a dream.
>Violent Revelations: when this unit is set up, choose an enemy unit within 12”, deal some number of mortal wounds to that unit as the Psyrens violently rip themselves from their subconscious minds.
> Awaited Embrace (melee tards): Psyren themselves cant into ranged combat, they’re are to (spiky) heavily mutated and must rely on their daemon engines & static cannons (think guard carriages) for that.
Maybe a super trait too, for taking only psyrens:
>Siren Song, Ruinous Requital: Psyrens may reroll save rolls against attacks made against them from outside of 18”, as the attackers are captivated by the echoing hellish shrieks of the distant Psyrens. While within 3”, enemies reroll successful save rolls, as they are met with what they have long ago been promised, once and again and again, in a dream...
The last rule is crazy just 4fun.
If it were to be balanced, it would just be a standard -1 to hit, then -1 to leadership super trait.
>>
>>
>>77252711
To be quite honest I've barely played regular 40K games, so I don't know how balancing works. Still it is nice to see your take on it!
>>
>>77252711
Sounds fun to play
>>
>>77252336
Maybe think of some prayers & psychic powers for them?
Also what do you think their stat lines are like?
Any unique units?
I’m thinking of some but wondering if anyone has anything else in mind.
>>
>>77254550
>>77253143
Like I said I've barely touched the game, so I wouldn't know what to say... anything you can bring to the table is nice, adn if we want further review we ask the /40Kgeneral/?
>>
>>77252336
Stratagems:
>Reoccurring Night Terrors: Return a unit to reserves, as the Astral Raiders/deepstrike trait. If the unit removed to the table was within 3” of an enemy unit, costs more CP, & that enemy unit cannot move shoot or charge in their next move shoot and charge phases, and their attacks are set to 0 in the next combat phase.
>Warp Damned Arrival: During the Command Phase, deploy a unit in reserve.
>A Dream or Warp Damned Reality?: Pick a Psyren infantry unit in the psychic phase. Redeploy it.
>Die in a Dream: Reflavored Orbital Bombardment. Pre game mortal wounds.
>Memory’s Of Lives Not Lived: choose an enemy unit and roll d6+1. That becomes their new BS, WS, or LD value until your next command phase.

>>77256300
Are those good stats? I can't erally tell...
>>
>>77256941
No. It’s just creative home brew instead of just copy pasting.
A lot of it is just copy pasting though.
>>
>>77257216
ok!

So I guess we've round up most of the things... I'm not sure what we can add...
>>
>>77257547
Np. You can feel free to stop bumping with me since the few people who were posting seem to have stopped.
I’ll might just add a few more things before it slides.
The rolls were super cool for these girls, and the idea of their Iron Knight enemies really sealed what i saw in them.
>>
>>77257909
Shame it didn't get more people in hooked though.
>>
>>77257941
>hooked
Yargh.
It did make me want to see Ojou-Scissor hands the Chaos Lord get modeled.
Maybe some art and a spin-off anime done too.
>>
>>77251567
I say the Magitek mount is a real good idea.

Its aesthetic can really fit into WH

As for the eponymous models/units, of our cute pirate girls, I pictured them as forsaken from fantasy, but with the intact armor of the Chosen warriors of chaos, & since I never got over my idea of them being the small human versions of Mutilators, I figured they would have some more elite melee infantry for the girls more well endowed by chaos to scratch that itch for me.
Here’s my “cringy power creep OC” homebrew for them, in troop & elite veteran versions.
>Psyren Unit (Astral Raiders)
>5-20 models.
>move 5”
>leadership 6/7 (troops/elites)
>1-2 wounds (troops/elites)
>Strength & Toughness 3
>2+ save
>5++ invulnerable
Weapon(s): Flesh Rakers Talons? Dream Render Hooks? Basically Mutilator weapon.
>+d3 strength, AP, & Damage, but you roll for it when the unit is set up, and it’s the same for the rest of the game. Kind of like the mutant rabble rule version of Mutilators I guess.
>2-4 attacks (troops/elite)
>+4/+3 WS (troops/elites)
>ranged = 404 cannot be found
>PPM: priceless

(Also I couldn’t google any image of “flowers falling an empty crusader helm shadowered, black background,” for the life of me. Nothing even close).

Never the less:

>A treacherous story untold, though resoundingly familiar to the ear in any case.
>When gods amongst men fell.
>When the greatest of any failed.
>When the misery of the warp claimed all.
>When the Iron Knights were sent reeling for the first time before the ruinous powers.
>A blemish unforgotten, even now as it is buried amongst a tumult of aching scars, not the least of which since that of the legions own heretical break.
>no. first, before this dishonorable split, the Crusading chapter of the Iron Knights was already touched by chaos.
>unraveled by the unthinkable, dealt grievous wounds and cast as dust and mud into the stars so far above.
>The Post human demigods were shattered by nothing but the sorrow and spite of their own meager serfs, tortured & burnt to ash as fodder in the maelstrom of a chaotic conspiracy & rebirth.
>The ruinous corruption, that had taken root in the empty recesses of the ships most helpless, consumed the chapter whole.
>Not a one was sparred the flame.
>The whole of the serfs where obliterated, sacrificed to the man & the women folk taken by chaos even after such suffering & madness.
>The chapter itself fled burned and beyond broken.
>decimated already, healing from a long and arduous campaign when they were sickeningly and unceremoniously thrown into the fires of this heresy.
>the Chapter Master himself slain, attempting to hold back, though too late, the suddenly erupting nightmares of the warp made manifest upon himself and his crusading fleet, and their serfs trailing flotilla.
>All was lost.
>And this was only the begging of the legions torments.

Next dragons.

Character: Malignance the Wyrm
Once a Malefic Lord of great power within the warband; the Crone known as known only as Malignance, as she hid away her true name in preparation for her apotheosis unto daemonhood, was a terror to build, within or outside the dream world her warband plagued. she could change her shape at a whim, as easily as a dream as in reality, and cast spells that spread her unraveling and violently rebound form unto reality, tearing apart as it suffered and broke under the same weight of magic she bore unto herself. Unfortunately, at the height of her power, at the moment of her ascension: she was rebuked. They say none but the most powerful of her coven consorts know what truly happened, and all that is well & truly known is that she was not cast down, even by the gods themselves, without raging against the slight.
Now she is trapped in the final form she took against the gods: a twin tailed serpent, winged and limbless, black as void that has taken her mind, as inscrutable as the flame which now bleeds from her maw as breath from any other being.
>inspiration: Melusine, Wyrms, Maleficent
>stats: idk, a chaos dragon from fantasy(?), but ported to 40k, maybe just with a terminators saves and a rider for its breath weapon: creates chaos spawn whenever it kill something with its mortal wound breath weapon.

Are Cthulhu mermaids ok?

Sonorous Crones (Psyker Coven)
Legless, Chaos Crowned Psykers. Standard Renegade Psyker Coven, just more dangerous in melee.
Alternative take:
>Psyker coven baked into 1 bigger model, with a degenerative performance wound chart.

More wow art, still not a mermaid.
Are nagas (female) mermaids?
Probably not...

>Malu-Psyrens (Malusiren?)(Psyren Maledictors?)(Malefic Lords.)
>>77261446
Pic related potentially, just with hooks for hands, and not one but two (2) tails.
Legless, many armed, winged chaos tainted abominations. Otherwise standard if flavored Malefic Lord with a jet pack.
Can’t take ranged weapons because LOL Murder Mermaid.

Revamp of ideas for the eponymous units of the warband.
Now only the troop version have to roll for damage, strength bonus, & AP. Elites don’t.
In fluff they are armored mutant rabble + & armored mutant rabble ++ respectively. In spirit they are max mutation Mutant Rabble profiles with Mutilator weapons. On paper they are armored Uber Forsaken.
>Psyren Unit (Uncrowned)(troops)
>Move: 6
>Weapon Skill: 4+
>Ballistic Skill: -.
>Strength: 3
>Toughness: 3
>Wounds: 1
>Attacks: 2
>Leadership: 7
>Save(s): 2+/5++
>Weapon: Dream Wrender Hooks: When this unit is set up, roll a d3. The result becomes this weapons AP value, bonus to user strength, & damage value.
Now the legless, 4 armed, two tailed elite.
>Psyren Unit (Crowned of Chaos)(elites)
>Move: 8
>Weapon Skill: 3+
>Ballistic Skill: -.
>Strength: 3
>Toughness: 3
>Wounds: 2
>Attacks: 4

Chaos Mauler Hound Alpha (Chaos Ogryn)

Psyren Crowned of Chaos on Nightmares (Juggernauts)

>the drow elf (Pirate!) princes on unicorn cav

>Ballistic Skill: -.
>Strength: 4
>Toughness: 4
>Wounds: FIVE (5)
>Attacks: 4
>Leadership:
>Save(s): 3+/5++
>Weapon: Dream Wrender Hooks: AP -3, Strength +3, Damage 3.
>Warp Piercing Horn: when this unit attacks, make d3 damage d3 additional attacks with this weapon. When this unit charges, make three additional damage 3 attacks instead. Ignore invulnerable saves with this attack.
>>
>>77261588
probably not the most critical of corrections, but
>astral sundering horn
or
>bladed astral horn of sundering
could be alternatives.
>>
>>77261588
>>77261646
Also alternatively: the Nightmares are juggernaut sea horses.
Unholy kelpie, with the forelimbs and torso of a juggernaut, and the lower body of a fish. They drag themselves with a disturbing frenzy across land.
Part of a Psyrens graduation ceremony to Crowned is physically fusing with the monstrosity, gaining a second tail and set of forelimbs.
Boom.

They actually have 30 or so names to keep people unaware about exactly who they are and what they do.
>>
>>77265928
You know, I said who cares about those guys, but they’re kind of cool.
Basically psychic space aids that killed off the old ones, but to modern day humanity, they are more just like herpies.
> Victims of Enslaver attack are often unaware of the Enslavers' control over their actions, but in time gradual changes are forced upon their body's biochemistry. Soon after the Enslavers have dominated their mind, a victim often becomes lethargic and tired.

Their skin will become discoloured and approximately 50-75 solar hours after the Enslavers secured effective control over the victim psyker's mind, their physical forms will swell as their body tissues disintegrate and reform into an organic Warp Gate of ruptured, pulsing flesh.
neat.
they sound like the the xenos flesh cone counterparts kind.
just more goofy rape tentacly, instead of spikey brain erupters like this warband.
