Waifu wars!

Its the fight arena thread. Previous thread >>82302577

Post your waifu or stat them up or get them statted by someone then see how they fare in the Arena! Just be aware that some DM's may not be kind to your character. Husbando's are welcome too

Don't be surprised if your character gets torn apart by raptors

pf fag here, you guys where gone all day and now you finally make the thread before my shift. I'll do my best but it might be tomorrow yet again. maybe this will result in some new characters though. so far we have one barbarian. I'm not doing the kingmaker faggots character after that fiasco.
>>
>What the fuck is this?
Last time, we had a fight in FantasyCraft and SotDL with of course, Raptors
Now, we stat characters in games and have them fight stupid shit for entertainment; and also to show off a bit of mechanics.
You got a game you think is cool? Stop arguing on the internet about it and come show us how it works..
>So what's going on now?
We're looking to see how different systems work in a similar arena setting with either similar or vastly different 'CR's'
>What can I do?
Post some art, stat some characters, show off your game
Y'know, a thread where we do /tg/ shit for a change.

Prior OP here. Apologies. I had no intention of starting a thread today and figured I'd leave it to someone who actually intended to do something today if they wanted.

I guess since someone has I'll at least maybe poke a character or two before bed.

Fuck it, I'm in.

Here's some guy's character art from a game I tried to run a while back. It never got off the ground.

That's kinda unfortunate, guess the thread's dead then.

Really all I need that'd help is some vague ideas about character flaws/vices/etc. I should really make a list of them. I guess there's sort of one here, but the GURPS wiki is mostly lists and not explanations. SJG is too jumpy to make an SRD. https://gurps.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Disadvantages
I can figure out what warlock abilities I can cram into 100pts myself, I figure. Modeling magic is always a little time-consuming though.
>>
>>82338192
Just got done reading the first thread, this shit's tight.

Funnily enough, iirc the character was originally meant to be a cleric, that was the best art they could find for 'female tiefling caster'. I'm cool to roll with warlock instead.
I don't remember a damn thing about their personality traits, they lasted for a single session and then the game fell apart.
I can tell you that they spent the entirety of said session throwing a single spell, and then uselessly trying to crush the rat that was nibbling at their toes because they were out of spell slots and it kept saving vs their only combat cantrip, but I know fuckall about them beyond that.

Alright, here we go. I got a little cheeky with some things to make it all fit and still have her be at all survivable in melee, I admit. But I don't think it's too bad.
(The cheat was making her racial template negative points, but in fairness, being a Tiefling has the advantages of "Some natural skin toughness, slight fire resistance, and horns you can headbutt with," and the disadvantages of "You have impulse control problems, reek of brimstone, frighten animals and everyone hates you." So maybe it's fair.)
I gave her a demonic patron, orders to tempt people to sin, and specific skills in seduction, occultism, and human sacrifice. If you're going to go, might as well go the whole way, right?

Her IQ is pointlessly high for her listed skills. I might just trade in some of that for more and worry about the repercussions later.
How hard it is to raise attributes tends to vary from GM to GM. Some roll with 'you can't after chargen,' and others 'you have to save up all the points at once.' I usually just let you trade back governed skills that add up for the point. So I might adjust her a smidge before any fights.

What're the rules if I try making a gurps character, for the first time ever, who fights from horseback? Is that kosher?
>>
>>82339536
Can you even afford a horse in a 100pt build? I have no idea, I'm incredibly unfamiliar with the rules.
>>
>>82339568
I was assuming it'd fall under a similar thing to how our girl Anna had to buy her shit with daddy's money. Also I have no idea.
>>
>>82339523
No worries bro. If you just want to see how it works, we can use like 3-4 goblins. They're the enemies I used at the start of my campaign to get people used to the combat, so they make pretty good demonstration fodder.
>>82339536
Oh man I have honestly never looked up the rules for fighting from horseback, but I'm curious. I'm very enthusiastic about trying this, but it's going to take me some hours of research I don't have time for just now.
If you plan to make the character yourself, yeah just do it. There was a post easily lost in the last thread with something I should say again for clarity. "If you make your own character and post a finished sheet, I will run at least one fight with it no matter how out of scope or stupid." If you contribute effort, I will do my best to reward it.
>>82339568
>>82339577
Who knows. The rules about money are worthless. There's a very codified system for "your own personal wealth" but it's impossible to buy adventuring gear if you actually follow it. You can trade points for cash directly but get nothing without alternate rules. You can do what Anna did and just take a patron who provided your gear, and then just haggle with the GM to get whatever you both agree seems fair anyway. You can take a rank like Marcia did and get whatever the GM says is your issued equipment.
I haven't even been bothering most of the time to explain the gear costs on characters after Anna and Marcia. The game barely cares.
>>82339501

Alright.
First fight of thread 3, starting conditions.
Beulah has a quick argument with the gateman about whether or not she can cast spells BEFORE entering the arena. There are no rules regarding this yet. Beulah gets an MoS 7 Sex Appeal roll and he stammers out a non-answer. She casts her shield spell and fails. Then growls and casts it again successfully as she runs out the gate before the guard gets his head back on.

I'm enjoying seeing the stands slowly fill up with fighters. I may make a new arena map with cages for the raptors and shit. This is fun.
I also want this to be the start of finding ways for the fighters to use their other skills, so they're not just 'dead points on a fake character who should have spent them on fighting.'

Some notes:
I will be using a house rule from now on that AoA's give a -4 penalty instead of completely negating any possible defense. Inability to retreat, dive, etc, still applies.
Pushing someone into the walls will now just do your normal thrust damage in impaling, instead of using the autistic rules for long falls and car crashes. I may consider allowing bonuses to shove damage to apply here, but that may be too good.
>>
>>82339425

>Turn 1
Beulah begins casting another spell. Goblins close in.
>Turn 2
Beulah casts her spell and now has a charged energy bolt in hand.
Goblins keep running at her.
>Turn 3
She readies a wait maneuver to AoA shoot the lead goblin at 4y distant
They keep approaching to within 3y. Her wait triggers. she attacks and the goblin does not dodge.
The GM goes to roll her damage and realizes he didn't edit this spell template correctly. Intermission.
The lance of crackling black energy blows a hole into the goblin and festers a moment before evaporating. He's knocked all the way to death check #1 by 2d6+1 impaling damage, but makes every involved roll and remains, arguably, in the fight.

>Turn 3
Our occultist begins casting the same spell again. Her mana reserve is now empty, anything more comes off her personal fatigue.
Goblin 1 staggers forward a step and AoA Longs to lean forward and swipe at her with his cleaver., he rolls good despite the shock. She dodges though. He remains upright.
Goblin 2 runs to try a desperate move and attack into her side. Beulah jukes away from him. Goblin 3 does the same move and misses completely.
Goblin 4 closes in 2 spaces in an AoD dodge, not wanting to get blasted like #1

>>82339808
Mechanics learning time! GURPS has a whole ecosystem of statuses and health levels with HP. These goblins have 8. Beulah's attacks truck him in the chest for 10 Impaling. Reduced to 8 by his 2DR. IMpaling as a type deals 2x damage to the center torso, so the goblin takes 16 injury.
More than half his health is a Major Injury and he checks to see if he's knocked down and stunned from the force and shock of the attack.
Once he hits less than 1/3rd of his HP, he becomes reeling and loses half his movement. (And RAW, dodge, but there's some house ruling here for...reasons I won't go into, it's a whole argument.)
At 0 HP, he checks for collapse into unconsciousness. From now on every single time he makes a strenuous action, he must roll again. If he fails, he falls down.
At every multiple of negative HP, you must roll to see if you drop dead, at an increasing penalty. At -5xHP, you die, period. At -10xHP, there's nothing recognizable as a body left. (Important sometimes for magical creatures.)
So as you can see, she's more than 'got some early damage in,' she's effectively put him on a timer to not being in the fight anymore, even if she ignores him now.
>>82339832
That's fair, I never got into serious PVP. I didn't even look up what he enchant was, but because I'd heard part of the strat was stunlocking, I wanted to give him an electric enchantment that causes an HT to save against convulsive stun.
>>
>>82339870
Alright, so he's basically already dead on his feet then? That's a lot better than I initially thought. Score one for magic.

>Turn 5
The AM realizes the last turn was 4
Beulah Finishes her cast and rolls for success. Another crackling energy bolt appears in her hand.
Goblin 1 drops his armaments and staggers forward to try to grab her magic hand to stop her throwing it. Beulah successfully parries, cutting his arm. He remains standing.
The AM realizes he should have had her dodge and adjust her facing. He frowns. Goblin 2 steps behind her and AoA Strong telegraphs her in the back of the head. No viable defense. The little dumbass misses.
goblin 3 tries to hack at her arm from the side. He doesn't like magic either. He commits to the attack to cancel the to-hit penalty. Beulah sidesteps away from this pathetic showing and glares down Goblin 4.
Goblin 4 makes a fright check*. +5 for being in combat. -2 for his friends being both ineffectual and wounded, -2 for superstitious fear of magic. He fails by 5 and rolls 3d6+5 on the fear table, getting 17. RAW, he feints dead away. By house rule he makes ahealth check against this. Which he fails. His little heart can't take it and he just falls the fuck down.
>End Turn
*For clarity, I had him role fright for, specifically, the realization he was now the target for a clearly deadly magical attack, and had little recourse for it.
>>
>>82339870
The strat is stunlocking cause hits with a Zweihander do so much fucking poise damage that you basically stagger on every hit. Chaos enchants are closer to fire.
>>
>>82339983
Really makes you think about the phrase 'if looks could kill'.
>>
>>82339986
I follow, and GURPS probably models that well enough with knockback, but cutting damage can't cause it unless totally stopped (Or converted to crushing) by armor, which with a Zeihander is unlikely, so I wanted him to have something. Lightning being iconic to the series was just a little bonus. I could replace it with something like armor-phasing corruption damage with a partial will resist, I suppose? Just doesn't seem as interesting. Then again, there's no reason he can't have a whole collection of different enchanted swords.
>>82340019
Doesn't it? I imagine It may be too generous for stock D&D settings. In the GURPS game I'm actually running, it's totally-not-Scandinavia and totally-not-vikings so most people have a healthy fear of dying dishonorably to magic. And an appropriately healthy hatred of and desire to murder spellcasters who don't stay in their lane as a result.
But it just plays into all her Tiefling stuff. She's throwing around death bolts and smells like brimstone, goblins don't know she's not a real demon.

Apologies for the delay. A friend suggested I add "Steve From Accounting, a largely typical burgerlander with a concealed permit and a glock 22 he shoots on Sundays sometimes," to the house roster, and I had to get this token made.

The Tiefling steps back and whips her spell at goblin 3 instead. He throws himself to the ground and BARELY evades. He rolls fright and fails, receives 1d seconds of fear stun* and hits the ground.
1 tries to chop her again, getting crafty and AoA'ing into a deceptive, since he's dead anyway. Beulah backsteps away, blade grazing her shield spell.
2 makes a will roll to prosecute the fight and critically succeeds! He runs at the Tiefling screaming, taking an AoA to get there and make a deceptive attack against her spellcasting arm. Probably screaming shit like "Bad magic stop!" and "Demon go home!"
Beulah contemptuously brings her blade over to bat his cleaver away and fails. The goblin deals 5 damage and it bounces off her energy shield, ablating 50% of a DR from it.
Goblin 3 stands up
Goblin 4 lays there.

>>82340092
>>82340126
I don't want to stay up until 6am again but I do want to see if a fumbling office nerd with a piece can actually get it drawn and aimed before a fucking huge dude can barrel down and rip his arms off.

>>82340128
Yeah, that may be possible. I'll debate it when a lull between other events presents itself.
"Stagger at a certain threshold" is kinda what already happens. To elaborate, an attack that deals (Targets Str-2) raw damage knocks them back a multiple of that value yards, causing them to make a DX save to stay on their feet. Cutting damage only does this if the blow bounces off their armor, even if it's plate mail and still does damage. If it cuts through, you get nothing.
Also, any damage over half the target's HP that wounds causes them to make a check to avoid being knocked down and stunned. As does any damage at all to the head or face.
I guess what we want is "he hits you so hard you take a penalty or skip your next turn if you fail a save?" I'm not sure how you'd model that beyond the "Stunned by electricity," rules with the serial number filed off, I guess.
>>
>>82340184
If it's too late for office man vs orc, that's a shame but understandable. I'm gonna have to hit the hay pretty soon after we wrap this up.
Goblin 3 is one lucky son of a bitch, and that luck won't hold out much longer.

A set of 4 1v1v1v1v1v1 fortnite battle royal, on a bracket system which goes to a 1v1v1v1s which then goes to a 1v1 with the prior champion. Seems more interesting.
With on a level with cover, traps and generic enemies for the first three, and a magical 4th dimensional point shop for gear like ammo, potions/medicine and weapons.
Gear would carry between rounds, and health, FP and other meters would stay from the first round to the second but not the finale, to hype up the championship match and not screw over competators who barely slid by and would get killed before healing. While the first two encourage the use of strategy, or overwhelming force, crushing the planers before they can do the smart.
Traps and Lesser monsters also allow intelligence to be worth something even with out powers that rely on them. The twisted werewolf who wants to play with her opponents, will end up with scratches and scars. While and agile cat girl who knows to avoid the jobers won't be.

Beulah scoffs and lets the sword fall from her hand. She steps into Goblin 2's square and makes to just grab him. As he AoA'd, he defends at -4 and can't retreat, and is grabbed. She AoA's an immediate grapple technique to judo throw him into Goblin 1.
1 makes the check to remain standing after being struck, but then fails his HT roll as his turn comes around, and collapses.
2 took no damage from the fall, and starts trying to get up.
3 stands and starts to run
4 is unconscious
>turn 7
Beulah steps into 2's hex and stomp-kicks him in the back of the head to put him back down, but she rolls 1 damage and his helmet's actually good enough.
He finishes standing and also starts running.
>Turn 8
Beulah steps after Goblin 2, grabs him with both arms around the neck, and fucking wrenches. She's behind him and AoA's, and wins the resulting contest by 7, He takes 10 crushing damage to the neck and makes his KD and Conc checks.
His struggle to escape is totally hopeless.
Goblin 3 keeps running,
>Turn 9
Beulah wrenches hard.
The goblin critfails his grapple resist, which I have...never seen happen. He fails by 4 and she succeeds by 17, so he takes 21 damage and thus 31 injury to the neck. His head spins the fuck around and he dies horribly.
Beulah drops the corpse, stamps her boot on its backwards head, and blows a kiss to the crowd.
End Fight

No real need for pictures with that one, as not much moving happened except for running away.
There was a * notation in the last post about "Fear stun" I forgot to address. Stun caused by fright in basic is just stand-there stun. GURPS horror suggests it can instead by "Cowering, running, even attacking the cause of terror in a blind rage," whatever is most appropriate to the situation and character. We use that because it's fun.

Goblins are trash. There's no like, I can't even conceive of the number of goblins it'd take to fight this woman with her shield up. (Cont)

The points would be awarded for being in range and aware of an opponent while they aren't aware of you. You are still awarded points for both being aware of each other but it would be like 0.5 versus 1.25 for the prior senerio, also quote a bit for disarming traps and slightly less for killing minor enemies. I think girls should spawn with armour on, including tech armour with strength or mobility bosters intact. Any interal weapons removed, like Samus's arm canon would be ripped off. This is balanced because the armour would be worse and more lilely to be sabotaged than having the modifiers on their charecter. Either that or would require ridiculous TL and TL would cost points and it would be better to play at higher points so...
while a future loli cyborg could use a chest mounted missle rack, or an alien lizard women could use a plasma pistol to vaporized their opponents they have to pay for and earn it. On the other side a cave women could punch through boulders and suplex a T-rex, or just be a super T-rex.

I mean, it takes them 2 hits on average to make her forcefield Dr drop 1.
Though I may, *may* be misreading something and it costs her FP per turn to maintain it? I don't believe so though, as generally an ability lasts one minute once activated, if it has a cost associated. Unless it's an attack/instant trigger, then you get one.

The trick is probably to grapple her, because her magic is Somatic/Verbal limited, so if you can keep her arm restrained, she's not doing any of that. Unfortunately, Goblins are tiny little morons who can't grapple for shit. I don't see them being anything but a joke unless I bring out their elites in numbers, or go rewrite them into little SM-1, 14 Strength berserker chimp creatures.

If mages become more accepted, the other combatants basically *will* need to start acquiring counters.

There's no odds there, they cannot hurt him. At all. By any means available to them. Points are one thing but gear and tech level are another, and acquiring the tools to even scratch this dude at TL3 is very close to a no-go. As was touched on last thread, I've got one character in my game who *can* hurt him, but she needs to drive a legendary, master-crafted adamant rondel dagger through his neck armor at an absurd penalty. To penetrate for, on average, 0 damage, and at most 2. Unless I start handing out M32's in the giftshop, that fight's just not worth running as anything but a gag, and probably never will be unless I pull some true cheese with a mage.

Alright, it's half past 5am. My day is concluded.

There should be a set of genric options by TL, a charecter shouldn't be able to summon fron the generic list above their TL. Charecters can have special items listed in their charecter bio, while the generic list holds things like generic iron broad swords, Glock-19s and other common items, while also holding things like tools and espionage equipment along with medicine and potions, alond with water, acids, emps and other situational materials. Value being based on general usefulness. Points could also be awarded for anons cheering their girls on, encouraging bold and titillating activities from the girls.
Magic/PSI gets balanced by not only the points spent but the shop points spent on Tylenol and medication for their magic needs.

I suppose Cici with RPM could beat him through some stupid combination of being invisible and using function substitution to turn his blood to water, but yeah, power armor is dumb.

Alright. this is going to be a straight-line fight so there's not really any need for pictures.
The Gatemen usher Steve from Accounting into the Arena. He's confused as shit as to why he's here and kinda fuckin' scared of all these jacked people with swords and shit.
The other gate opens and Grishnak (The Arm-Taker) Saunters into the Arena. He hams it up for the crowd, then turns and starts charging as soon as possible. He's been warned not mess around with this one. He's not sure why, maybe the scrawny man is a witch?

>Turn 1
Grishnak bellows and advances.
Steven pulls the glock from his shoulder holster. I'd normally maybe make him roll fright, but he has a gun, that guy's unarmed, and Steve took Karate one time.
>Turn 2
Grishnak keeps on running across the arena
Steve readies the weapon in a two-handed stance

>Turn 3
Grishnak runs as fast as he can towards the scrawny human
The gigantic orc is merely 1 yard away when steve starts pulling the trigger and probably soiling himself. He has the good sense to take one step back and to the side first.
Grishnak doesn't know what a glock is, but he sure doesn't like it when people point magic contraptions at him, so he tries to juke the barrel and fails.
A round strikes him in the chest, and two into his left leg. He drops immediately to -3 HP. Grishnak doesn't conceive of pain as lesser beings do, and makes all the involved rolls.
>>
File: file.png (55 KB, 286x207)
55 KB
55 KB PNG
>>82345189
>Turn 4
HT Roll for conc is succesful. Grishnak is two spaces away, so he AoA's to get close. He DWA feints with one hand, and then right hooks to the face with the other. The classic Grishnak trick. Steve has no real melee skills so rolls raw dex, just making it! Grishnak makes it by 9 though, and steves defense is penalized by 9
As a result, even retreating, Steve from accounting critfails his dodge and is struck in the face by the raging orc. He's knocked down! But also back two yards into the wall. He twists as he falls and his fucking face connects with the spikes! He takes another 4 injury and fails the second knockdown test bad enough to drop unconscious from that alone, even though he passes his negative HP check.
There is no Turn 5. Just however far Grishnak can get into tearing an arm off the poor accountant before he either passes out or the judges whistle him.

In summary: Guns are not a fucking joke in GURPS. 18 yards may be sufficient to stop a human attacker, but not a 7'4" Orc with near-complete immunity to pain. Rolls still somewhat dependant.

This thread isn't dead yet? Damn.

Now I'm curious about how Beulah vs Steve would go. Does magic beat gun? Does gun beat shield? Can Steve hold it together long enough to put a round downrange, or will he crack under the pressure?
Can either character even hit the other at range?
>>
>>82345539
I too am very curious about this, and will slate it for next go 'round. It shouldn't be long, and I'd just do it now, but I've got a game to run in an hour or so. I don't want my players to rip *my* arms off because I spent my final prep time doing pretend fights on /tg/

Also I'm going to award Steve some points I think, and keep track of his ammo. I'm kind of amused at the idea he may pull some real oldschool stranger in a strange land shit and become a badass barbarian warlord or something.

The situation here is two russian soldiers have somehow flanked La'ton's position, though they are out of ammo and forced to attempt to assassinate the enemy commander with their musket spears. They have the superior reach and numbers, but they are much less skill than La'Ton.

>Turn 1
La'ton has a superior speed, and thus goes first. He chooses to advance cautiously, getting to within 4 yards of his opponents. The two Russians choose to Wait (after a step), both of them prioritizing his mount over the Colonel himself.
>Turn 2
La'Ton notices the two Russians posturing defensively, and thus both him and his horse take an All Out Defense. His horse has an improved dodge while he has an improved parry. He chooses to move north, so that only 1 Russian may attack him. The Northern Russian, even despite the horses large size, misses with his bayonet. He then proceeds to step back and try again, where he manages a hit. However, the horse dodges, prompting a riding skill check from La'ton, who passes. The second Russian takes a step and is far more lucky, landing a hit on the horse who fails to dodge, managing to deal an entire 12 damage to the horse, a major wound which the horse manages to pass... La'ton now has to roll riding at an entire -5, -4 for the shock and -1 for riding with only one hand on the reigns, but he barely passes thanks to his years of riding.

Sorry for the delay, had to double check basically everything lol.

La'ton pushes his horse forward (actually taking another AOD since it only moves a few yards), putting him in a flanking position to the Northern Russian. Now in range with his Saber, La'ton takes full advantage of his higher position and makes a committed attack to the Russian's neck, striking true and KO'ing him. Due the special neck bleeding rules, it's likely he'll die in the next few minutes.
The southern Russian, undaunted by the apparent death of his comrade, steps forwards once more, determined to take out the horse from under La'ton's feet. The Russian strikes true, but only does a measly 4 damage this time. La'ton has to roll once again to keep his horse under control, but he pulls it all off..

The main takeaway is basically you get a second character in the form of your mount. There's a few special rules that didn't come into effect here, such as couching lances. But the main advantages here is that you can move and attack without actually using the move and attack maneuver, which is hugely useful in realistic games where you can't do a heroic charge. Main disadvantage is having to roll for riding quite often, and if you fail, you can be quickly fucked over.

I think i'll try something with the spear girl next, any ideas?

Leaning in from my game here
Just as an FYI, the other characters were built with an allowance for style/martial talents.
Requiring the point for style familiarity per MA, then allowing you to buy that styles skills as a talent, but the talent cost is increased by 2 over number of skills because martial skills and talents don't mix.
Also with 'techniques cost half points usually.'
So there may be some mild imbalance between them and Morry here spending 20 points on spear raw.
The stated disad cap for the 100pt bracket was 50. I said I'd write a document explain the chargen process I used, but I haven't gotten around to it. That's not to say I expect other people to follow it, mind. Points are points.

As an aside; I was going to give her a shield amulet with the caveat that the DR doesn't work in C, to accentuate her spear.

As for everyone else talking about mooks; http://gurpswiki.wikidot.com/dnd:monsters Dig through there and find something cool.

Fantasy Craft guy here to hijack the thread again. Statted up Grishnak the orc in FC and will test him against a griffon (just what I feel like).
Since the character sheet is ass (sorry literally can't find a better one). I'll give some mechanical tidbits now.
He's an unarmed specialist almost to his own detriment as FC usually rewards diversification over specialization but if people do stand next to him he molly whops them.
Martial Arts and Masters Art boost his damage and allow him to sub dex out for str on defense and initiative.
Wrestling feats and Combat Instincts allow him to get free punches and grapples out of turn if he's missed with an attack.
Clothesline is a trick (attack/skill modifier) that allows him to knockdown on hit.
His base damage is also huge with +12 to unarmed. (For reference Anna only had +2).
Anyway that's the basic rundown sorry if no one's interested.

All right, I don't know if you need the image seperately but here's the gcs file: https://files.catbox.moe/3151x1.gcs

I tried everything in my power but he absolutely would not fit in 100 points so he's 300. He was basically the protagonist of our group's first Shadowrun campaign by nature of being the only one to survive to the end and grow as a character
He's an Adept, which in Shadowrun terms means he gets a lot of passive bonuses from being magically-bodied, but he gets fucked up in areas of magical background. He's fast, moreso than most augged up razordudes, and specializes entirely in punching people with magical lightning fists. He started out as a greasy hobo with mafioso connections until he got shot in the back by a teammate (on accident) and got had the hole in his shoulder fixed by a freaky convenience store cashier who, in retrospect, would absolutely count as a rapist in at least a few countries. Because of odd circumstances, he's fatally punched at least 5 hookers to death, none of them intentionally. I desire to see him punching anime whores in gurps.

Ahahahaha, this is going to be a fucking massacre. I cannot overstate the degree to which ATR is retardedly broken, but that's why it's 100pts base. Can you give me a bigger copy of his token?
His followup on his crush IA is that it also does his punch damage? Works. The points for it seem borked but I don't care.
>>82348628
I had stone golems somewhere. I'll investigate this.
>>82348722
He very well might win. Anon specifically requested anime whores though, so I think it's going to have to be Morry and Marcia, as the most anime character arts statted and on hand.

This is the biggest one I could get my hands on, this campaign happened a few years ago. I could probably go grab the oringinal image since it's just one of the preset human guys from the video games if you need it higher.
Also, yea, I know ATR is bonkers, but the way Shadowrun iniative works is that you roll Reaction + Intuition + 1d6, and after you take your turn, you subtract 10 from it, and Glove had 2 or 3 ranks of Improved Reflexes, upping his total INI to about 12+3d6, which means he was regularly taking 2-3 turns in the time an average human would take 1.

I thought the way follow-up worked is that the IA itself follows up after a trigger, in that the IA work occur when he punched someone, and then do its damage, since it also specifies that if the attack penetrates DR, the IA follow-up bypasses all DR.
>>
>>82348770
Yeah you're right about most of that, I just got confused because it has an armor divisor. Which, it can't have because it goes off only when it gets past armor. So his fists should have a magical armor divisor, which, I won't get into explaining how that works, it's in power-ups: enhancements somewhere and it's a pain in the ass. I'll just assume we've done that.
Wasn't complaining about the ATR, just highly, highly amused. Token's big enough, thank you.

Yea, I'd have had no idea how to do that, the extent I've used GURPS personally is for medieval low fantasy and Rimworld-esque survivalism with wildly varying tech levels up to 8. Never used the Powerups books. The way it worked in Shadowrun is that his gloves had a higher AP value than 0, so the gloves themselves reduced teh DR.

Yeah that's totally fine. In that case we'd just state that the gloves give his punches (2). I'm sure there's rules for something like that in Ultratech somewhere but it's not important. It'd just add some arbitrary sum of money to their cost at that point. So in essence his attack is 1d+1 (2) cr w/2d cr sur follow-up. Easy enough.

>>82349401
So there's a cool one here. There's an advantage in the old 3e Celtic myth book that lets you just make a will test at thes tart of battle to believe you're invincible because you're following your code of conduct. Normally it requires you be literally naked and covered in woad. You get 6 DR everywhere, but if you're wounded you have to make the will test again to keep it. It also gives some PD, but PD's not a thing anymore.

Game still. Party lead and the 'rogue' are trying to convince the jarl of Nord-Trondelag to raid a wizard tower for fun and profit so they don't have to do that one.
>>
>>82348421

No real point in showing the movement for this one as it was mostly just two creatures beating on one another.
I could've used the griffon more tactically and tried to hit and run a bit but then I also could've just had Grishnak hold the griffon like a bitch and beat it to death.

Round 1
Grishnak leads the initiative and gives a roar to the crowd before running at the griffon with a double move to put himself adjacent to it and prevent it from charging him.
The griffon attempts to stab Grishnak with his beak but misses giving Grishnak a chance to pay it back in kind he hits attempting to knock the griffon over with a powerful punch but the griffon stands firm. The griffon undeterred by the punch attempts to bite Grishnak again he suffers an error which causes him to fall as Grishnak intended.

Round 2
Sensing the griffon is disoriented Grishnak goes for a grapple using his mix up to boost his roll. He succeeds and latches onto the griffon.
The griffon tries to free himself from the grapple but is unable to escape the experienced wrestler's grasp and gets punched for it.

Round 3
Grishnak releases the struggling creature in a display of showmanship and proceeds to batter the griffon with a barrage of punches they land hard.
The griffon fearing the strength of the orc changes strategies and attempts to knock him down he fails and falls back to biting him but misses again giving Grishnak a free attack he lunges forward with a big elbow but misses.

Round 4
Grishnak is ready to finish this fight and prepares to end it he suffers and error and is knocked over by the griffon's wings he attempts to attack again playing off the fall as intentional but misses again.
The griffon having the advantage presses into him aggressively but is surprised when Grishnak hits him before he can rush him the griffon shrugs off the blow and continues his assault aggressively pecking at him hitting twice and making the orc bleed.

>>82349628

>Round 5
Grishnak is suddenly aware of the danger and decides to stop messing around he stands and takes a proper open stance bleeding from his wounds.
The griffon thinking this is a sign of weakness lashes out again hitting once but missing his second attack giving Grishnak the opening he needs he strikes hard with a blow and grabs the creature again as it begins to struggle to escape.

>Round 6
Grishnak continues to grapple the creature but it slips out of his grasp due to the wound the griffon gave him earlier.
The griffon now free continues to bite at the orc bites once but misses again getting grabbed by the relentless orc.

>Round 7
Grishnak holds the griffon in place and catches his breath from the wound.
The griffon struggles to escape and gets beaten for it badly he begins to suffer from the exhaustion of the combat and the blows he's taken.

>Round 8
Grishnak senses the end of the fight at hand and attempts to grapple with the beast one final time twisting its neck in a sickening crack as it goes down for good.
He raises his hands above his head victorious still bleeding from pecks of the griffon.

So yeah Grishnak came out on top but it was closer than I thought once the griffon actually started rolling well.
The Griffon was slightly buffed from his stat block with a +2 to grapple checks as natively it had a +0 to grapple and it wouldn't have been as interesting had Grishnak just held it down like a child and punched it to death.

I have to redo the Innate attack because I misread the Advantage. Half damage range of 10 with max range of 100 not, 1/2 damage with a half damage range of 100. On the brightside I can half the level and get the same damage out-put, but that fucks with the stack of modifiers. AAHHHHHH

>>
>>82349751
To be fair I tend to view griffons as 4 legs and he's not Grishnak the leg taker.

>>82349975
So errors and threats are usually an unmodified 1 or 20 on the d20 for a skill check or attack (20 for threat 1 for error). They're activated by spending an action die (metacurrency players and the dm have separate pools each. refresh each session). Action dice can also be used to boost rolls though so it can depend on what you want to do with them.
There's no set mechanic in place for what happens on a error so ultimately it's up for the GM to arbitrate I went with falling over for this fight in particular because it seemed appropriate to the chaotic brawling nature.

>Turn 1

Steve draws his gun
>Turn 2
Beulah finishes her spell succesfully. her shield is in place.
Steve takes his shooting stance.
>Turn 3
Beulah saunters forward, flaunting her movements in an attempt at a Sex-Appeal based feint. Steve criticall succeeds against it and aims his weapon.
>Turn 4
Beulah begins casting her attack spell.
Steve fires. All three rounds miss.
>Turn 5
She finishes casting and her spell fizzles.
Steve controls his aim.
>Turn 6
The tiefling holds her range and starts casting agian, not wanting to make his job any easier.
Steve Advances a step and fires again. Beaulah attempts to dodge his aimpoint. She succeeds, but not by enough for every round to miss. (2 possible hits, dodge MoS 1)
The .40 S&W round cracks through her shield and spangs off her chain shirt without enough energy to damage.
>Turn 7
Beulah finishes casting. This time she succeeds, and begins advancing again.
Steve rolls fright because that was a FUCKING MAGIC FORCE FIELD, and those aren't supposed to be real. He gets +5 for adrenaline in combat and keeps it under control. He aims again.
>Turn 8.
Beulah advances and aims.
Steve steps forward and aims more.
The range is now 9y (-4)
>Turn 9
Beulah whips her witchbolt at steve. Steve throws himself onto his side on the ground and barely dodges it.
Steve has to re-ready his weapon after the dive, bringing it to bear from sideways on the ground.
>Turn 10
Beulah charges at him full tilt.
Steve panic-fires, AoA range, -2 for bad shooting posture. He rolls a 17 and the gun goes 'click'
>Turn 10
Beulah AOA runs up and kicks Steve in the face, knocking him out.

>>82350162
That's cool. I like "The Gm has to spend a metacurrency" much more than "There's just a flat 5% chance you suck at your job." Metacurrency gets a lot of hate, but I like them more than fiat and dice fudging; at least they're in the rules.

>>
>>82350293
You may deliver it to me in any fashion you please. .gcs is preferred, but if not possible, I'll live.
>>82350315
It's seeming that way but she's sort of getting lucky. Her striking unarmed is just her straight 11 dex. It's garbage. But if someone is prone, just kicking them in the face AoA telegraphed isn't hard. Leaves him at net -1 to defend and his dodge is already all of 8.
Her judo is 14, so her grappling is much better. She needs it for the shocking grasp spell she uses to incapacitate armored foes. But it also means that versus an SM-1 St 9, Wrestling 12 Goblin. (18) Her combined grappling score of 25 is actually pretty good, and the goblin gets a -4 if she has him from behind.
>>
>>82350275
Yeah a lot of people seem to not like metacurrency for some reason but I think it's fun because honestly rolling shitty kind of sucks and it's a decent way to fix that.

That's fair. I've come to enjoy sucking sometimes. Really the inciting incident of my love affair with GURPS was a basically one shot urban fantasy. Solo intro scene, my punk biker faerie (>>82339216 picrel) turns into the alley to find five greasers fucking with her bike. She tells them to fuck off and they think she's funny, so she casts a shrink spell on one to teach 'em a lesson. Fails. "Yo. This bitch tryin' to hex us?" They start coming at me with clubs and shit. She backpedals and casts again. Fucking. whiff. They start running at her. She fast draws her knife and sticks one in the guts. he falls down. She sidesteps another and then takes a club to the face and hits the ground, where they proceed to give her the boots, medium-style, until someone shows up to bail her out. 500pt unseelie fae, shit kicked out of her by some greasers. Just be how it do sometimes.

But yeah, I don't think there's anything wrong with either approach. Play whatever works for you.
Pretty much the only thing I'll call you a faggot and tell you to leave for is fudging dice.

>>82350524

>>82350716
generally speaking, I don't like to drop the casting of spells below two turns for balance reasons at low TLs. It takes aboutthat long to ready a bow to fire, it shouldn't take you less time to cast fireball, is my thinking. There's nothing stopping us from reducing her cast time to the minimum 1 with just a few more points, except my not thinking it's especially fair.
>>
>>82350716
>Holy fucking statblock, batman.
Mind you it's incomplete, no hit areas, no base block, or parry... or other gear, not that it matters to much with those Inate attacks.

>>Her rockets don't explode
>You had one job.
They are two centimeter orbs, it would be ridiculous if a 5 foot wide ball of fire and shrapnel expanded out of it.
>I don't know what you mean by this. To the best of my knowledge, the rules don't allow it? Maybe I missed something, but I'm confused on this one.
It says human's can't have an HT less than 1, asides so long as there is not equation that requires you divide something by HT the maths should work like normal.
>>
>>82350774
Yeah, that's valid. Maybe we can manage something to keep her from whiffing the attack instead. Does the one skill govern both speed and casting difficulty?

Also, hypothetically, are there modifiers to spells that make them take longer to cast in exchange for some effect? That might be a way to manage it. Buff the skill, but trade speed for a chance to inflict a condition, or just straight up add moar damage.
>>
>>82350774
That's fair I agree that failing sometimes can be fun and interesting but I was more talking about the times you can't seem to get above 10 on a d20.
Obviously dice games involve chance by their nature but sometimes making something cool happen is fun even if you have to force it.
I agree on fudging dice though for the most part although I feel like sometimes an encounter can be unbalanced on accident and at that point you may need to adjust on the fly.
>>
>>82350816
That's fair on the rockets.
On the HT thing I guess...I mean, you can, but the moment you try to make any HT check you're just going to fail it. She's immune to most causes, but will go down instantly from any blow to the head, any damage over 12, any cumulative damage of 24 or more, etc.
I can roll with it, I've just never seen anyone try it, I suppose.

>>82350834
The skill governs nothing except the chance to complete the spell successfully.
And yes, that's how that works in general. All abilities are costed on a list of positive and negative modifiers. So say, it'd add a +50% modifier to her bolt to give it armor piercing, it's -10% or so for every extra turn it takes to cast, etc.
Currently all her spells are governed by the same big list of modifiers; taking an extra turn to cast, requiring words/gestures, being magic, requriing a skill roll, causing an obvious glow, and requiring meditiation to recharge her magic each day.
Individual spells can further modify this, such as the cost reduction on her armor spell because it breaks down over time.

>>82350856
I feel the first bit. My spearwoman in my sunday game rolls a 1 for damage so often it's kind of a meme.
And I don't mind forcing anything that's within the mechanics, no.
As for the last, I don't do it even then, but 'encounter balance' is a weird or impossible thing in most games anyway, in my experience.
>>
>>82350926
>will go down instantly from any blow to the head, any damage over 12, any cumulative damage of 24 or more, etc.
I find it more realistic if what a militarized, child sized robot powered by an aitomtous fisson generator would be capable of at a mere tech level ten.

Okay guys I came up with some ENEMIES for the Waifus

>BACKSTABBA GOBBOS
The Backstabba Tribe are an infamous group of Goblins that often work as mercenaries, famous for their use of poisonous mushrooms in combat. It has become a tradition on the tribe to send some of the young runts (and backstabbing traitors) to the Arenas as a rite of passage. They often fight in 1D4+2 groups.
http://gurpswiki.wikidot.com/m:goblin-berserker-fodder

Fighting Style:
- At the start of the battle they ingest a potion made of Maniacal Shroom whose effects include hysterical laughter and frenzy - https://gurps4e.fandom.com/wiki/Berserk (these effects)
- Half of the fighters wield massive chained Iron-balls (Two-Handed Flail https://gurps4e.fandom.com/wiki/Flail_(Weapon)), the other half wields two short swords (https://gurps.fandom.com/wiki/Dual-Weapon_Attack), they don't wear armor or shields

>KHOOMER AND THE MUMMYGIRLS
Khoomer is a Necromancer, coming from the warm lands of the South. He joined the Arena to defeat the waifus and raise them as part of his Mummy Harem 1D6+3

Fighting Style (from Dungeon Fantasy)
- 10+ points in Necromany spells: Access to Necromancer power-ups, access to Foul Arms (DF 11 and Pyramid 3/01), and Necromancer perks (Lesser Lichdom, etc.) 10+ points in Necromancy spells including Zombie: Access to Ally Groups of skeletons or zombies. Can make their own Foul Arms. 20+ points in Necromancy spells
- His Mummygirls use the stats of Zombie/Skeleton - http://gurpswiki.wikidot.com/m:zombie
- He mostly stays on the sidelines and let his girls do the fighting, he is quite weak physically

>MISTER BEARINGTON
A gentlemen that wants to try his luck

Fighting Style
- https://gurps.fandom.com/wiki/Great_Bear

>>82351612
>DARVE GNOME, AND HIS MAGNIFICENT ROOSTERS
Darve is a farmer that lives close to the Arena. He hates the sound of the crowds, they disturb his tranquil life! So he decided to defeat all the other fighters and end this game for good. Rock Gnome here - https://sites.google.com/site/adventuresinarcadayn/home/gurps-fourth-edition/creatures-and-races-gurps-4e/dwarves-and-gnomes-gurps-4e

Fighting Style
- Darve has Giant Chicekns at his farm (they won several prizes!), and rides in battle one of his Giant Roosters - http://gurpswiki.wikidot.com/m:dinosaur-deinonychus
- Darve uses Pickaxe and a slingshot, tries to remain far away from the enemy and let his rooster do the job

>VLAD SKELETON
Vlad is a recently awakened skeleton. He doesn't have memories of who he was, but he knows that he likes fighting. Despite his appearance he is a nice lad.

Fighting Style
- http://gurpswiki.wikidot.com/m:bandit-leader
- Instead of Broadsword he wields an Axe + Shield
- He has Medium Plate https://gurps4e.fandom.com/wiki/Plate
- High Pain Threshold (never suffers shock penalties); Immunity (All mind control); Immunity to Metabolic Hazards; Indomitable (can’t be influenced); Injury Tolerance (No Blood, Unliving)

>THE LADDER MASTER
A martial artist from distant lands that is lost. He wields a ladder as a weapon for some reason.

Fingting Style
He fights wielding a medium ladder made of steel
Okay, you guys got me, not sure how to make a martial artist, but found the concept funny

SOOOOOOO
What you guys think?
Some of you commented that we needed things between "goblins and murderhobo wrestler orc". I don't know ANYTHING about Gurps so this is my attempt, feel free to change whatever you want.

Glove can't have people behind him, ATR or no, so he Move-and-Attacks to run around Morry and attack her from behind. He fails and she dodges, but that's fine, he just wanted them both on one side of him. He steps in and tries to use his second turn to disarm her, but the roll's jank.
Morry steps back and changes back to a normal grip on her spear, and tries to sweep his legs. She critfails and drops her spear. (Are we sensing a pattern with critical failures yet?)
Marcia steps in to try and stick him. He dodges contemptuously.
>End Turn
Query: Are these complex fucking movement charts clear enough? Do the numbers make sense? Could they be improved?
Hell, are they even adding anything? Or just slowing me down and wasting image cap?

Are almost exactly the same. The fight is.. Sort of at a stalemate. The Space Marine first tries to fisto the loli, which doesn't work so he tries to abduct the loli, which also doesn't work because she's smol and dodges. Meanwhile the loli's only hope after shooting her AA gun is to hit the chinks in his armor with her missiles, which usually hits, but being unable to lead her shots with her skill (having left to targetting the chinks to even hope of hurting him), the space marine is easily able to dodge the attacks.

>Turn 4
Glove goes in for an AoA feint. Marcia gets a critical and sees through it. He follows through with the attack to her face, but she catches it on her shield.
Morry crouches to pick up her spear.
Marcia tries to feint with her shield but it doesn't work.
The only movement this turn was Glove and Marcia shifting one hex to the right.
>Turn 5
Glove AoA, DWA feint and punches against Marcia. She blocks him again. So he goes for a deceptive blow with his offhand
Marcia parries it and cuts his hand. She rolls maximum possible damage, and despite his kevlar gloves absorbing 6 of it, she cripples his hand.
Morry gets her spear and stands back up. She readies it for free with grip mastery.
Marcia makes a deceptive jab, but Glove just backpedals.
>Turn 6
Glove comes back in with the AOA Deceptive disarm and whiffs it. So he AoDs back.
Morry runs to stand behind him.
Marcia turns to face him with a deceptive thrust. Glove fails to dodge, but his high-tech coat catches the blade.

Pic not annotated because very little happened until Turn 6, movement wise.

>Jacques Jiraya Pierre

ST 10 DX 13 [60] IQ 11 [20] HT 11 [10]
Advantages: Combat Reflexes [15]
Disadvantages: Code of Honor (Ninja) [-5]*
Area Knowledge [insert specialty here]-13 [4]; Climbing-14 [4]; Judo-14 [8]; Karate-14 [8]; Observation-13 [8]; Stealth-15 [8]

Total: 140 Points. That leaves 10 points for cool ninja weapons and anything else you can think of, and that's not counting extra points you can get with additional disadvantages like Enemy, Obsession, etc.

Armed combat skills. Most likely Knife or Shortsword.
He can use his Tongue as a WHIP - Fast-Draw (Whip/Tongue) https://gurps4e.fandom.com/wiki/Whip_(Weapon)

>turn 7
Glove comes around beside Marcia and does his AoA 4 point deceptive trick into her shield side. she fails to block and is punched for 3 damage. Then the magic gloves go off and the shockwave cracks her ribs and sends her flying. She lands in a fucking heap, stunned, a yard away.
She's laying facedown, so he uses his second action to step into her new hex, kneel, and telegraph a punch to the back of her head. Even with the DR though, her helmet saves her.
Morry steps in with the spear and tries to stab him while he's knelt down. He jukes out of the way though.
Marcia's stun ends.
>Turn 8
Glove opts to haymaker her weapon arm. The damage roll is trash, but she's hurt bad. Then he stands back up and takes a step towards Morry.
She steps back and jabs at him. Glove jukes it and dodges closer
Marcia opts to just stop moving. She's fucked up pretty bad
>Turn 9
Glove bounces in and AoA Feints her. Not well but it happens. then swings at her face. She retreats.
Morry steps back, shortens her spear and tries a feint of her own. No dice.
>Turn 10
Glove jumps in and goes for the AoA deceptive stack. Morry's dodge fails and she's knocked off her feet and into unconsciousness

As we can see, the real advantage to ATR is that having a second turn means that doing in AoA on your first one means nothing at all. Swing the fuck away.
Sorry for lack of pictures, it's pretty much a straight-line fight after Marcia falls down, and the turn she did involve little more than "Glove moves one space to the right."

>>82351889
Thanks senpai.

>>82351879
For curiosity, the effect of one round on Marcia; average damage:
her armor eats 3 of it. 5 penetrates. Multiplied up to 7. She isn't quite reeling, but she does take immediate knockdown and has a decent chance of failing it. Any more than one hit and she's probably down for the count.

Hyacinth attempts to fast-draw her rapier, but the shock causes her to fumble slightly. She steps away from the wall.
Grishnak goes for his old standby of a feinting DWA. Hyacinth doesn’t buy it, and successfully parries the blow directed at her weapon arm whilst retreating, dealing 2 cutting damage to it.
>>
>>82353815
>Turn 6
Hyacinth takes a Wait maneuver, planning to step back and attack once Grishnak tries to move into close combat. Grishnak indeed does this, but Hyacinth’s successful thrust is not enough to penetrate the orc’s tough hide.
Grishnak can only go for a kick, and does so. He succeeds, but Hyacinth again parries and draws blood. This could be death by a thousand cuts for Grishnak

>Turn 7
Hyacinth goes for a deceptive thrust to the vitals before stepping back.
Grishnak is still thirsting for violence, and goes for an AoA Double, both to the torso. Hyacinth parries the first (4 damage to right arm) but not the second. She takes 3 crushing damage to the torso

(no image, but there was a lot of dancing around)

>Turn 8
Avoiding the shock penalties, Hyacinth moves backwards
Grishnak goes for a Move and Telegraphed DWA, Neither land.

>Turn 9
Hyacinth steps back and goes for a Deceptive thrust to the vitals. Grishnak only barely dodges.
Grishnak remembers his true purpose, and attempts to grapple Hyacinth’s sword arm, but Hyacinth remembers she can retreat while parrying, although she fails to inflict any damage doing so.

>Turn 10
Hyacinth Waits for Grishnak to close again, at which point she will attack. She lands a decent jab, but Grishnak does the run-around to her side. He is unable to connect though.
>>
>>82353832
>Turn 11.
Hyacinth takes a forward step and re-orients herself, evaluating.
Grishnak attempts the AoA Double again. Hyacinth deftly parries, but again fails to inflict any damage.

>Turn 12
Seizing the opportunity, Hyacinth goes for an AoA Telegraphed Double of her own to the vitals. Using the -4 house rule, Grishnak is dodging at -2, but cops both, going well into the negatives
Grishnak passes his HT roll to stay up and again attempts to grab the sword arm with a DWA Feint and attack. He flubs both.

>Turn 13
Hyacinth lands a deceptive attack, but it’s not enough of a blow to penetrate
Grishnak succeeds his HT check and goes for the arms again, but is swatted aside

>Turn 14
Hyacinth makes another vitals thrust, but Grishnak parries
Grishnak is desperate, and goes for an all out determined deceptive grab, which lands.

>Turn 15
Hyacinth is exactly where she didn’t want to be. She has no hope of breaking free, so goes for a kick to the groin. He can’t parry (at least not without letting go of the sword arm), and his dodge is abysmal. However, Grishnak’s crotch is like unto a thing of iron and the kick does no damage. However, he fails his next HT check and collapses anyway. The crowd goes nuts.

I am impressed. Good fight. RAW fencing parries are wild.
One thing I'm not actually clear on, as people tell me different things, is where a parry against a grab or punch actually lands. Is it the hand or the arm? Should it be rolled randomly? Grishnak has 4DR gauntlets to protect against the former, and 6 DR vambraces on arm locations 5-6 to protect a bit against the latter (and due to a house rule about parrying with armor parts.)
I guess the passage does say "Limb" explicitly, but parrying a bite strikes the face and that's not a 'limb.'
I dunno, just a rule that probably needs some house clarification, and I'm curious your take.

Low tech guns generally either make you die or miss, yes.
These fusiliers my party ran into were set up to fire their rifles, then shift them to left hand and fast draw pistols and fire again, and a block of twelve of them still didn't hit alot. And unfortunately for them they were shooting at Drott Kare Bjornson, a 7', 300lb man-bear with 2 natural DR and recently purchased elven plate armor, and he ate the entire volley anyway.
The scene of their sergeant shooting him square between the eyes screaming "Why won't you die!?" Only to have the musket ball spang off before she caught the backswing of his axe and got knocked the fuck out will stay with me forever.
>>82358394
I checked this because I was confused, and according to Kromm, there's no reason a machine, or even a human with a sickness, can't have HT0. It just means you're going to fail rolls and die soon.

>>
>>82358894
> Metal tends to not be alive and at TL 9 with baby's first synthetics it's not really replicating the features.
HT isn't about being alive or not. Machines still have HT. Even inanimate objects have HT.
Something, anything that has no HT is literally falling apart. It has no resilience against any kind of weathering or the effects of damage.
>>
>>82359113
It's about doing thing alive things do. Almosy every HT roll has something to do with the self replicating and repairing nature of cells, you either need to have that, or be able to mimic the effects. Not possible at the scale of 02A-P at TL 9.

>>82359220
>Are no fight currently queue'd?
Grishnak vs Swordmaster Jones is probably up next I assume
>>
>>82359220
No, Inanimate objects have HT. Even a sword explicitly has HT10, it uses it for saves against breakage in a bind, or being exposed to corrosives. This is all laid out on B483. The specifics of making a character that is a machine, or at least one pre-packaged example, are in a meta-trait on B263. You can't have or use FP, and have Unhealing and other appropriate disads. You don't have HT0

Grishnak vs Swordmaster Jones is still in the queue. I may or may not get to it before the thread ticks over. I've been doing this for four days straight and I need at least some break.

>>82356743

>Even a sword explicitly has HT10, it uses it for saves against breakage in a bind, or being exposed to corrosives
Ignoring how dumb that is. 0HT on 02A-P still works, any severe damge is fatal, I've said it before, but the coolant tube is supported by the plating and motors. The conections to the CPU are loose and prone to shorting. If anything is substantially damaged, if many things are minorly damaged, or if the head is jostled to much, if the room gets too hot, it all falls apart.
>>
>>82359613
Yeah, I'm not arguing that part. You can build a character legally with 0HT, that's no problem. I'm just explaining what the game defines HT as.
What are you abbreviating with 02A-P though?

Simple code two digits and one letter to denote unit number, and characters post hyphen to denote model... so the 02A means she is the second ever version of model P, the P in that standing for Prototype. Allowing for 2,574 units to be given a unique code. The numbers don't include 00... so the 100th unit of any model will be 01B-[Model Charecters]

My sunday game ran short because we turned off where the GM had maps for, as you do.

As a result, I lied. Last minute before thread-death; Grishnak vs Jones will indeed occur this thread.

Also for the record and my memory, Steve has fired 12 bullets. 3/15, 15, 15 in his three magazines. He may have to ask Hyacinth where he can get some blackpowder pistols down the line.
I'm rooting for this guy to be forced to become some pistol-brace-and-cutlass swashbuckler. We can MSpaint edit his shutterstock photo with a pirate hat and everything.

Anyway, Jack orc wrestler vs romance novel cover art model, let us begin.
>>
>>82361549
With black powder he could get up to revolvers if this interdimensional arena has the ability to produce them which would be a boon to Hyacinth's arsenal as well. Swashbuckling cowboy Steve didn't know what the glowies wanted from him and would have preferred to simply be gangstalked, but here he is.

>Turn 1
Jones is the quicker man and goes first, moving 6 yards towards the orc.
Grishnak steps up and works the crowd.
>Turn 2
Jones runs up 7 yards to get the gap closed
Grishnak gives him what he wants and runs straight into his space, not slamming for risk of being juked.
>turn 3
Jones steps back to range 1 and makes a deceptive swing. Grishnak tries to juke under it to the side and fails as Jones angles the sword down. Grishnak is wounded for 9 injury to the left leg.
Grishnak steps in under Jone's swing. DWA Feint into right-arm grab. Grishnak crits the feint and Jones is penalized by 4 despite his own average roll. He tries to retreat away, but his arm is grabbed. Grishnak, confident in his mass and strength begins an immediate arm wrench. Jones critically succeeds to resist and slips away! The crowd loses it!
>Turn 4
Jones makes a deceptive attack at Grishnak to try and force him to back off, but he misses and the orc sidesteps him again.
Grishnak DWA's for a grab with both hands on Jone's torso. His right hand gets it and he's holding on tight! Grishnak doesn't try an immediate maneuver this time. Clearly, his opponent is more wily than he anticipated.
>Turn 5
Jones doesn't have the wrestling skill to truly escape, so he opts to try to bash the orc with his pommel to get him off. This should use Brawling, Karate, or straight DX according to the Martial arts rules, but who trains in a sword and doesn't know how to hit a dude with the fucking pommel in a grapple? We'll use his Sword skill. He commits to get a good chance at the Orc's face. Grishnak tries to use his grapple to force Jones to miss by twisting him around. He successfully cancels the attack
Grishnak responds by trying to get his left hand onto Jones, and then spin him around. Jones slips away from the left, but Grishnak maneuvers the grapplers to get behind him.
>>
>>82361952
>Turn 6
Jones can only really try to escape. He's hopeless though.
Grishnak grabs with his left hand. Jones tries to stop him with a reverse-grapple control but it's not going to happen.
Grishnak uses his right hand (The left doesn't count yet as it just connected with this maneuver) to drive Jones to the dirt, falling atop him.
>Turn 7
Jones does not escape.
Grishnak tries to reposition a hand to Jone's arm. Easily done. He immediate techniques a -4 setup to wrench.
>Turn 8
Jones flails and maybe asks nicely that Grishnak maybe not.
Girshnak AoA's an arm wrench, succeeding by TWENTY FOUR over the compromised Jones, and ripping his arm off in one clean action.
Jones does not die from shock, but he sure wishes he had. He doesn't even pass out either, just fucking screams.
>Turn 9
Grishnak grabs his head and smashes his face into the dirt. Jones takes another 11 injury and passes out. Grishnak stands and presents the arm to the crowd
Jones bleeds from the bloody remains of his shoulder and passes death check #2 before the medics arrive, but he passes that.

Jones is a fun guy but he really needs a grappling skill, or just the escape skill. Or any way of resisting being grabbed but raw DX. He got lucky once, but the core roll here is 24 vs 33. It's not a good time, and once Grishnak got behind him, he was just done for. He could also really use Grip Mastery as a perk, as that would allow him to quickly transition to halfsword as a free action and defend himself with parrys at C. And even stab into a grapple more easily. Though he'd still need pretty damned good grapple skills for Grishnak to not just shake him so hard he misses.

Good run lads.

For your information and mine, as I have it. Counting only fights in GURPS for characters I have and have run, and discarding house or external fighters like Hadriel and Giant Dad.

Landsknecht Anna: 109pts. 2 Unspent Owed an armor upgrade
Woman-At-Arms Marcia: 108pts, 6 Unspent Owed a better sword or other gear of choice.
Grishnak Arm-Taker: 116pts, 6 Unspent. Owed some winnings. Arms Taken: 1
Warlock Beulah: 105pts, 4 Unspent
Spearfighter Morry: 106pts, 6 Unspent Could possibly use some light armor
Musketeer Hyacinth: 103pts, 3 unspent.
Swordmaster Jones: 104pts, 4 Unspent. Refuses armor. Could use some stat retraining though. Also his left arm is gone. Going to have to do something about that.
Steve from Accounting. 28pts, 8 unspent. His gun jammed, and he needs to make some armory rolls, untrained, to unjam it, but that's super easy so he'll be fine. He has 33 rounds left.
FYI: 2 pts are awarded for winning a fight. 4pts are awarded for LOSING it. An arbitrary bonus is sometimes granted for a good show or exemplary performance.

I will admit I totally missed the vambraces as I was just looking at hit location DR. My reasoning was the defender could choose either arm or hand, although in hindsight I'd amend that to allow for a roll to see if they hit the vambraces for the latter
>>
>>82363658
Reasonable. Yeah, I thought 'choice' might be correct too, I just couldn't remember.
And no worries, it's only partials 5-6, it's totally believable he could have just rolled shit every time.

The armor's there mostly because we have a house rule that if you use an unarmed parry, instead of "Failure by -3 or less means the attacker can choose to hit your arm" it's instead "Failure by -3 or less means you may choose the location you're struck at on your arm." Since the penalty for defending unarmed against a weapon is itself -3, this seemed fair, as it amounts to "You can choose to try to block with just your armor, but may take damage." Mostly just so guys who are confident in their armor can do things like making unarmed parries with it after swinging a U weapon, and a general local belief that "RAW, unarmed gets fucked bad enough already."
