Worldbuilding continues upon the Sons of the Dragon and their various enemies and allies.

Anyone else like the idea that the Hellsingers are big on Alpha Legion-tier dickery and schemes? An attack might go like:
>1. Send dreams to inspire cultist uprisings on targeted planet.
>2. Show up and save the day by killing all the cultist dupes, having temporarily repainted your armor to 30K Dark Angels colors and calling your leader Cypher.
>3. Send an astropathic message to the actual Dark Angels and watch them fuck up the planet for you.
If regular Emperor's Children are /d/, Hellsingers are /b/.

They recruit everyone who fits their criteria of;
>on the Pleasureworld
>has otherwise-fatal injuries
>doesn't have the money to afford the cybernetics to fix up their injuries on their own dime
So, yeah, they've got a lot of robocopped up ex-concubines, but also random laborers, etc.
>>
>>82630080
Good idea, the fact that they are so slippery would explain why the Sons of The Dragon aren't able to kill their demon prince (that really needs a name btw) after hundreds of years
>>
>>82630080
>>82630914
Hellsinger armor should look surprisingly orthodox for slaaneshi cultists, able to pass for imperium loyalists to someone not in the know. They're still heavily mutated, but they disguise that under armor and possibly Bloodborne-style bandannas.

>>82630914
>>82631116
They're so sneaky the Sons of the Dragon and Inquisition haven't been able to find out the name of their leader. The actual leader fought the Sons of the Dragon chaptermaster to a mutual kill, the Hellsingers are currently led by a bunch of illusionists pretending they're acting in the name of a daemon prince.

From time to time a new Hellsinger ascends to daemon-hood and acts in the unknown name of their fallen hero, since they don't have a official leadership and like to act independently, sometimes, multiple small cohorts of Hellsingers go around doing that (even the ones who aren't demons) . The Sons of the Dragon obsession is a waste of time, luckily they have a special division for that pursuit so not all of them are actively looking for their (dead) arch enemy.

The Hellsingers take all the obsession and overindulgence that Emperor's Children normally put into hot-pink-and-acid-green armor and redirect it into stupid tacticool /k/omandoing. Black armor. Enough ghillie cloth to make them look like mummies. Helmets comprised of night vision gear with multiple lenses, each with a mutated eyeball behind them. Adding laser sights and scopes to every ranged weapon they get their grubby little mitts on regardless of practicality. Chain and power versions of ridiculous mall ninja melee weapons.

Before the fall, the Hellsingers, at the time known as Hell Ravens, were a Raven Guard successor chapter specialized in infiltration and espionage, destroying revolts and chaos congregations from inside out, when a xenos invasion stroke their planet they were not able to fight directly against them. After the Imperium, and most importantly, the Raptors (the chapter that they most admired) ignored their calls for help, they turned to the Dark God of excess.

Now, they delight in their plans, perfecting them to the point of absolute madness and excessive details, much like the Demon Primarch Fulgrim, they relish in creating grandiose and theatrical scenarios for the execution of their targets, never forgetting their perfectionist and endless "upgrade" of their "tactical" equipment.
>>

I am not sure if you guys will go for it but what do you guys say we turn these girls in to the cyborg brides of Dracula. That way the sons of the dragon have a reason to have Pleasureworld women of the night as there ally's in the first place. Like the best of the best of the girls get sent to the sons after they have been enhanced by there world so as to serve the space marines as chapter serfs and combat fodder when they are needed. After all cybered up sex slaves do not need to sleep and can watch over the sons as they rest. What with them being enslaved by the technology jammed in there brains so as to make them eternally loyal to there vampire masters.

And that could be how the Pleasureworld got its hands on the cyber tech in the first place. The sons of the dragon gave it to them so they could have powerful and charming servants to keep the rest of the imperium from finding out how fucked up they have become.

The rest of the girls are left to the depraved and degenerate lords of the Pleasureworld to do with as they see fit. After all the sons of The Dragon only want the best of the best for there uses.
>>
So by this point i think we can all agree that the theme of the Sons of the Dragon is self righteousness and corruption. That they are the vary embodiment of the imperiums evil and hypocrisy. For instead of protecting and saving those they have sworn to protect they instead feed on and exploit all of the innocent and helpless for all that they can. And in doing so make those around themselves even more dependent on there "protection".

So do you all think it would be going to far to say that the Sons of the Dragon set up protection rackets on any world that they give aid to. And that if the planet refuses to submit to them the sons will declarer the world rebels and invade them to take what they want from them.

Would that be a good reason why the Sons of the Dragon have suffered some losses recently. As they picked a fight with a loyal world that had more fight in them than the sons at-first thought they did. And "bit" off more than they could chew. So they got punched in the mouth and lost some brothers for no good reason. Other than greed and injured pride that someone stood up to them and there bullying.

This post is kind ?????
The Sons of the Dragon represent self cannibalization, delusion, & manic depressive episodes more than anything else
>only up and at them in explosively violent fashion when they go to war. Otherwise always asleep, preferring a foretold damned pursuit & embrace of their blood curses in a questionably errant mission of mastering & studying this their morbid fate in the black rage.
>use the blood of their brothers for everything, even feeding their pet terror gheists-armadillos, bath water, ambiatic/sleep tank fluid for themselves & there neophytes lifelong coffin sleep pods.
>totally reclusive. Only keep the company of a few thrall mortals & their companion bats
As far as hypocrisy and delusion go: they have little to completely absent hypocrisy, it’s almost all misguided self harming delusion all the way down.
>Would that be a good reason why the Sons of the Dragon have suffered some losses recently
I think their practices with black rage would explain their losses better, since those brothers in the black companies are all completely written off upon the rages embrace.

I like the idea that they embody everything that's fucked up about the imperium: extreme fanaticism, disregard for human life, isolation and hypocrisy to top it all.

i also like to think that before the cicatrix maledictum tore the milky way a new one, the Inquisition was really close to excommunicate them, because they went to far and got in trouble with a big shot or another space marine chapter, but, as said before, they are in the Imperium Nihilus and that delayed the Inquisition's plan of trowing them out of the window. Basically, the biggest recent disgraces for humanity was their salvation.

This, but for mostly the latter reason.
The Sons of the Dragon don’t want to interact with anyone, let alone mortals.
They would love nothing more than an a force of low maintenance guard force just a step above servitors, who can go into “sleep mode” right alongside their masters, only waking when the tombs their Vampiric lords rest in ping them that IT IS TIME.
What’s the name of the SoD monastery flag ship btw? It’s gotta be something grotesquely edgy.
>And that could be how the Pleasureworld got its hands on the cyber tech in the first place. The sons of the dragon gave it to them so they could have powerful and charming servants to keep the rest of the imperium from finding out how fucked up they have become.
Ironically I think this might have been a case where they exploited a fellow loyalist world lol.
Might have laid on some Red Thirst inspired delirium & vampiric hypnotism on those pervy lords lol.
>send us you waifu’s mortal!!!
Also I don’t think the SoD give a fuck if people know how sordid they are. I guess the hardest thing about this kind of thread Is finding out what everyone else agrees on is canon for this chapter before everything is even finished yet. So what we need to find out is if the Sons of the Dragon represent selfish evil that wants to feed on and kill anyone and everyone they so please to. Or if they are selfless evil in that they know that they are monsters and that they need to be stopped from doing the things they do. But that the drinking of the blood of there mad brothers and the dreaming of there dead father gives them the strength to surpass and defeat the enemy's of a humanity they no longer have any trace of.

But no matter what we can all agree that the Sons of the Dragon are evil. And that if someone killed them all the people of the imperium would be safer with them gone. What with all of the blood drinking and unleashing death company marines on population centers.

>>82643235
The thing is that the PDF does not fit with the sisters of battle at all. For as sexy as the sisters can be at times they are still a respected organization in the imperium. Hell even the Inquisition likes them for the most part.

But the thing about the PDF troops who i am now calling the Castoff Girls until someone comes up with a better name is that nobody needs or respects them at all. They were all taken off the streets or even worse places after they were all used up. Then they were forced to be augmented with vile and abusive technology so that they could be used as cannon fodder for pointless wars that they will never gain any reward for as they are not even a guard regiment. They are only PDF regiments so they are not even supposed to be off world but they get sent anyway. As nobody care enough about them to stop them from being sent off to die for no reason. And even if they somehow beat the odds and win the wars they are sent to. The only thing that will happen is there masters will get a pat on the back and more girls will be sent to die

But that the drinking of the blood of there mad brothers and the dreaming of there dead father gives them the strength to surpass and defeat the enemy's of a humanity they no longer have any trace of.
I don’t think this is a fair or compete representation of the options for their characterization.
There is the other route of
>the fully embrace & half decently manage their sick natures & off-color dangerous habits.
>they fully fulfill their purpose as marines: war & murder of the emperors enemies
>they fail to fulfill the rest of their duties, unwritten & otherwise
>those of proper fraternity, honoring the emperor, renouncing mutation, & even honoring sanguinius (a claim they will particularly take offense to, since they honor the primarch above all else, he is really the focus of their rituals: trying to understand his last gift/message, hidden to them by the veil of their own meager existence, causing them to fail to properly understand the black rage he has given them. In their mind at least).

I like to entertain the idea that in their past (due to their founding purpose) they hunted down traitors with relative success, but after their chapter master died to the hellsinger daemon prince they started to fall from grace, they became more and more focused in their own system and it's surroundings, abandoning their humanity to a degree uncommon for space marines, fallowing only the "revelations" that they see in their dreams. It's not like they are killing mortals left and right for fun, but they disregard their lives for the greater good of the Imperium , or at least, the twisted vision of greater good that they see in their dreams.

I think skitarii would probably be the closer fit rules wise. But it’s your games! Do what you want.
As far as the idea that they fell from Grace after the death of chapter master, I really dislike it.
IMHO they should have been like this from the very beginning. If anything he probably discovered & perfected the nocturnal rituals they each enact indivisible in their tombs or communally as a gestalt in their dreams.
Especially the procurement of the modified exsanguinator tombs they chapter puts the neophytes in from induction till black rage filled death, wherein the chapter lives the majority of lives as marines, grappling with their twin curses. He must have been central to the gathering of such rare resources!
He also is probably the one who devised what ever indoctrination/psychic compulsion the chapter uses to get its raging battle brothers back into their tombs. The psychic mastery which strengthens the hold the chapters leadership has over the waking, uncontrollable lives the chapters outsized black company.
These unseemly practices are what allow the chapter to function as well as it does despite its members seeing the waking world as fit for nothing more than their slain primarchs endless echoing rage, which they are more than willing to channel & exorcise when they are not at rest, pondering the nature of their honored angels blessings.

They would definitely be given a name evoking the richness of their world/lords, if only for their creators ego’s, if not advertisement of their world & what is wants to project.
It’s why they are given such extensive & expensive modification to begin with! The fact it makes them certifiable living weapons is just collateral in the eyes of the recruiters.

Sounds like these tau are fought between a rock & a hard place, a murder vampire & a rape vampire; The Sons of the Dragon on one side, the Dark Eldar on the other.
Maybe that’s why they recruited so many trifling xenos worlds/species so fast. They were all afraid of the fucking psycho monsters staking & burning the nearby worlds one by one.
The focus on air cast is probably to counter both the druchari speeders & SoD coffin drop-pods/troop carriers.
They field ground forces simultaneously to take position & provide cross/covering fire against smash captains, haemonculus horrors, or anything else trying to rush their bases.
kauyon focus because their “expansion” has become a game of world defense for their desperate client species. They draw out smaller druchari & dog pile them, while baiting apart the frenzied ranks of marines then picking them apart after.
It all fits very well!
>>82643757

TLDR
>the commissar, sent ahead to this sector, know the newly founded Sons of the Dragon Chapter is being assigned to this region in space, to this very system!
>being formed from the elite & veteran companions of the chapters mythological founding figure: none other than the chapter master of the <REDACTED>; their reputation preceded them, even as they were sprung from the crucible of war & restructured into a proper fresh chapter (where it not for the actions of these comrades of the founder, the chapter would have been in dire straights from the beginning, seemingly set up to fail by the administratum, they never the less emerged triumphant & in possession of their own destiny: reborn as the Sons of the Dragon
>he knows what they want, they told him as such: the vampires demand wives: widows to living dead men to mourn and watch over their tombs. They seek creatures as removed from humanity as they are, automatons who must recall and demand their humanity otherwise buried beneath script and programs, who will faithfully manage their living tombs.
>so he descends first unto a small unscrupulous pleasure world neighboring the rock soon to be claimed by the SoD
>he takes the niche perversions & illicit materials, & from them he commissions & crafts agents of iron & plasteel. From their undisciplined, desperate minds, he moored countless programs dedicated in triplicate to one prime directive
>when the sons of the dragon arrived wanting: the commissar saw to it that the system was ready, that the foul xenos & heretic which played the sector would be crushed beneath the ascendant unearthly rage of the emperors angels, their tombs faithfully kept ready & silent in times of peace.

Steel Age!
> The use of iron has evolved into the manufacture of alloys to make steel for weapons, Armour and tools. Farming*(1) and trade are ways of life for most people, and civilization has started to gather in fortified villages and towns. The ruling classes live in large stone castles. Communication networks of couriers and carrier animals*(2) are common.

*(1) because of the harsh climate, the most fit areas for farming located in the tropics of Gelumors are also the most populated, and even with the more appropriate climate of these regions a lot of traditional Technics and specific agricultural goods were created to increase the productivity of the farmlands

*(2)The fauna of Gelumors is definitely diverse for it's cold climate: reptilians bipeds like Guars and Alits, thousand of bug and mollusks species, a variety of the bat like species of Gheists to large armadillos (unnamed yet), which some sub-species were domesticated by the populous throughout the planet's development, used as livestock, transport and other productions, this world is home to many weird and alien species.

I like to imagine the Tau in the sector are more naive then most with them mostly finding the more peaceful xenos races. They soon shade this view and become quite experts hunters.
>>
So when will we have enough material to write a 1d4chan page on the SoD?
>>
>>82664087
I can just imagine it now. The Tau come to the sector thinking they will find new and exiting friends to add to the greater good and make this area of space a better place. Then they find the army's of hacked up cyborg sex slaves begging with there eyes to be freed from this hell. As they can not use there mouths as they have been converted into a cock sleeve/ laser gun. Then they find a chapter of true vampires out to drink all of the blood everywhere. Most importantly from the screaming body's of both the Tau themselves and other zenos. And to top it all off both the god of rape and the space elf's of rape are bumming around trying to find fresh victims for there fun and games.

So now the Tau are trying to get there hands on every gun and bomb they can get there hands on. So they can put up a wall of hot plasma between themselves and the helpless alien races they came here for in the first place. So as to protect them from the other new friends they have found in the sector.

The pic in the OP really does some up how the Tau feel about the whole situation they have found themselves in. Lets hope they find a way to save themselves so that they can save this sector from the monsters that now rule it.

But now that i think about it what do you think the orks are up to in this place. There are always orks stomping about and kicking gits.

should we skip the galactic position? seems kinda boring desu.

Their sector and sub-sector are the same as the denkite, which ever it is I hope it is located in the Imperium Nihilus, keep that in mind.

The planetary governor is the Voivode of course, which means that chapter master Lugosi is the ruler.

Now for some of my own Lore input: Since this is a feudal world, Gelumors is actually governed locally by counts and dukes of their own territories and act more or less independently form the rest, most times, they even have their own small military organizations, sometimes, maybe they even have some kinights around, who knows. The Voivode and his inner council are responsible for overseeing the local authorities and organizing mass military operations.

if you ever get lost in the middle of one of the barren frozen seas of Gelomurs, before certain death arrives, it's possible that you will find islands of dark rock and elevated rivers of magma, this striking contrast is the image of this planet's extreme environments. Alcohol and drugs

in true feudal fashion, most agricultural good, livestock inputs and other goods are bartered among cities and villages internally, the exception to this rule is the alcohol production, an especial variety of grape was created here, known for their alcoholic potential some of the wines produced with it are said to be able to make even an space marine slightly drunk.

these wines are considered a local luxury and are rarely available to peasants who drink a cheap, weaker and less pure version of it
