0703
A boggy area composed of salt marshes and woods that eventually opens into the sea. Due to its rainy climate, poor agricultural potential and foul sulphurous smell, it's rather scarcely inhabited. The region is home to scattered villages of humans, goblins and their halfbreeds, which survive on a diet of bog rice, crabs and eels. The regions main export is sheep wool as the locals herd vast flocks of sheep over the marshes.
According to tradition the inhabitants of 0703 were granted the rank of freeholders in perpetuity for their services to the 4th Eastern Emperor during the Westmoor campaigns, though most suspect this is a myth and the real reason the region has not been subdued to any lord is its remoteness and economic irrelevance.
Every year, each village selects a representative, typically the most wealthy farmer with the most sheep to his name to represent their hold in the yearly moot, organised on the Crag Rock, a fort in the south of the region and the only substantial hill in the entire area.

0305
A remote and arid area of rolling hills, with extremely warm weather due to its proximity to the sun. Nowadays inhabited by a race of dog-faced men. In a past age the dogmen were cursed humans used as the henchmen of a great sorcerer. Eventually defeated his henchmen were released from their bonds but were unable to regain their human appearance. Unable to speak any language and distrusted as the minions of evil, they were shunned and exiled to the remote lands of 0305. They live in a primitive clan based society based around herding goats through their native rocky landscape. Though unable to speak they have developed a simple pidgin that allows them to communicate as outsiders. In the current age, dogmen can be seen outside their native land employed as scouts or rangers. Recently enterprising humans have tried to enter the region, trading iron items for goats and amber, which is abundant in the region.

They also teach mathemagic and sacred geometry.

Marcalifűrdo, the city of a hundred springs, renowned for its millenia old thermal baths, herbal remedies (and poisons) and imposing limestone architecture. The city grew primarily over 3 eras, the ancient baths of the first ages, of which only the imposing green marble Opidian Bathouse remains, the more modest Stzoly baths built in large numbers by the Yurtic invaders of the second age and finally the new era baths which combine the imposing architecture of the Opidian with the local limestone used by the Stzoly. A popular destination for the rich and powerful of all stripes, many intrigues are weaved through the slippery halls of Marcalifűrdo, and the impassive green marble walls of the great bath bear the memory of a thousand assassinations.

Gaia's Bum

A large cave system located between two hills. It has a native berry to the area that cannot be found anywhere else, and has magical healing properties (but conversely, tastes like rotten bean paste). The cavern is notorious for the amount of gemstones and ores to be found within, with ores and gems increasing in rarity the further you go in.

However, the guardian Sphinx placed at the beginning of the cave dares not anyone to to enter the cave. Named Ret Cniphs, she will only allow one to enter if they produce a magic oil and balms for her sensitive skin. She also warns about the dark beings that live inside, and she considers herself keeping them inside the cave, rather than guarding entry.

The Lake of Swords
This otherwise pretty normal lake generates ghostly swords of all shapes and sizes beneath its waters, most pertinently in the shallows along the banks. If left alone, the swords will quickly disappear. If retrieved, they will remain as real as anything else in the world. Local fishermen try their luck sword hunting, but on a typical day, only a few blades are seen, and of those, only one or two might be retrieved. Scholars theorize that the lake overlaps some sort of fae forge, and the blades in the lake are being quenched. So far, no mystical swordsmiths have come looking for them, so no one can say for sure what's happening.

Making a TTRPG based on this setting guys. Based on Fate,D&D, Burning Wheel and games like Dwarf Fortress and Caves of Qud. Don’t know how much time I have to work on it with school and job stuff, but I’ll update it idly.

Try to give one some rare bones from some sort of Strange, Raw Beast (Platypus Skull, Sting Ray Ribs, Walrus Skull, etc) and he may be a little shy but he'll tag along.

The Bog of Schmelts
Slime coats just about every square foot of this bog. It is home to a race of slime men named Schmelts. They smell terrible and are extremely flammable, however when burned the smoke turns into a cloud that will piss out more Schmelts. Schmelts love all things sticky, gooey or slimy. They will often trade with travelers who can bear their stench for spit, boogers, or jizz.

>>
>>82862609
Haha perfect

More notes on Schmelts:
They will often set up "settlements" near towns and cities where they can accumulate yummy ooey gooies. Schmelts grown like fungus in the combined goop collected slime. Much like Australians the Schmelts favorite treat is petrol, which leads themselves, their dwellings, and anything they tough extremely flammable. They also all sound like Harry Caray.

I dig it a lot (the drawings are pretty based).
My one complaint is that Strength and Smartness (Str and Sma) look a bit too similar. Maybe use Brawn (Bwn) or something instead?

That's Good. Brawn is in.

>>82862056
very nice. you need hexcrawl rules too. there are lots of hexcrawl rulesets around but i was thinking something more chaotic, like:
roll traveling from one hex to another takes 2d8 hours; for every factor that helps your travel reroll one dice and use the lower result; if something hinders you (eg traveling in difficult terrain) roll an additional d4, and increase its size for each additional hindering factor. roll a random encounter each 8 hours spent traveling (maybe use that encounter table we made some time ago, i cant find it right now)
>>
>>82867395
Looks fun
>>
>>82867395
For how it was populated the map is pretty damn cohesive! Also I love the drawings, 10/10.
>>
>>82867395
Nice. If we could make any changes, I would swap the Hippo Lakes with the Mad Max area
>>
>>82867395
Great. This is the TTRPG Anon here. And I had a system in mind for the Hex Crawl. Each day is divided by 4 hours and is takes 4 hours to cross a hex. The Cycle goes (Morning -> Midday -> Evening -> Norning -> Midnight -> Nevening)
Also kinda the crux of the game is the whole Termina slowly swallows and destroys a Hex every Two Days. It starts off with him destroying the barren space that his mouth is on right now (0203) just to give the players a little extra time. After that is will roll a d6, rerolling on void spaces (And the two Chaos Dwarf Spaces at least until half the board is void ). The mouth will then move to the next space and repeat the process, of the mouth appearing on the first day, then the hex being destroyed on the second. The Goal of the system is to find a way to stop Termina (Either by killing him, banishing him, or leaving this reality) which all lead to different possible ending. Pretty excited for it really.
>>
>>82867865
sounds like a very fun premise!
btw, im considering doing this again sooner or later, what do you think if we did the next with an overarching theme, anons? nothing too limiting, just the "genre" of the setting
>>
>>82869184
I would like it. Maybe designate certain zones as a specific biome or environment to help things fit? For example, this hex is a "Desert" hex and this one is a...you know.
>>
>>82869184
Ooo, if we have it connected to the above hex could we have it be the "Underground" dungeon world? Beneath each hex?
>>
>>82869389
>>82869406
an underground crawl wouldnt be bad... but i'm not sure i want it to be directly connected to this, it may restrict it too much to the concepts we already put here
>>
>>82870600
Yeah, that makes sense. If we do it it should be a different world or an expansion to another direction for this one. (Maybe ocean to the east or desert to the west?)

I was thinking of making a thread for people to come up with spells for the TTRPG system, It'll take some time to make it though. Would have to be after Work.

if anyone could upload descriptions of the hexes zipped with one txt/markdown file per hex each named after the the hex number, it would be easy to compile a PDF or small interactive hexgrid.
>>

>>

>>82873631
that would be really nice! i tought of doing it myself but i dont have the know-how...
>>
I started doing a count of "places you might deliberately go for adventures" and got approximately 23. Pretty subjective though.
>>
>>82876552
And... strangely enough, the count of "places that have civilization of some kind" is also 23. This one is even more subjective though, since I didn't count the hexes that are only stated to have one singular being, and did get a little bit of overlap with the adventuring site count.
>>
>>82867865
Hey guys, System Anon here. Created a separate thread for spell designs.
>>82877800
Make them as short or as long as you wish.
>>
What's the best place and what is also the worst place on the hexmap?
>>
Give n the mechanics of how it travels, you can totally stop terminal by surrounding it or walling it off with empty hexes, this sparring the continent.
>>
>>82873631
Bump, still waiting for this

>>
I like this better than the design an encounter threads....though it might just be the same thing really.
>>
>>82880751
Well, The thing is he's colosal and eats through matter, kinda like a black hole. So a physical wall couldn't do much. Also I didn't write it in, but if he is completely surrounded by void spaces he'll go to the most populated spot remaining.
>>
I've compiled the entries into a file and did some light editing. I think I've included everything, but map anon can double check.

That's exactly what i was going for with the dungeon of hex, just didn't have the motivation to make out another hex plain.
