Thread 1 - >>119775
It's time for the next chapter of our civilizations growth.

To Recap from the end of the last thread, the Skorupi found a copper vein, gained a religion and have started to invent a language and take a census- meanwhile, Artic forgot to tell what Nidoran F and Purrloin make.

For less confusion and more micromanaging, I added provinces. They are all numbered accordingly, kinda like EU4 where it's all over the place.

Stats and other such will come next post.

One more pic.- just provinces this time for anyone to use as an example for something
>>
>>155884
Spinarak Blitzkrieg when?
>>
>>156147

I would like a second opinion on this. And think about what you would demand from the Spinarak should you win.
>>
>>156402
Organize our skorupi military into a sick ass shield wall with yanma skirmishers?
>>
>>156601
>>156147

I guess that's two for a war. I'll get on writing that.
>>
>>156657
Wait, let's develop weapons and armor and metallurgy first
>>
>>156657
I wasn't voting for.

Just for proper militarization.

War later.
>>
Wait, should we assess whether or not the glameow/gible are an imminent threat? Also, are there still the rebel spinarak?
>>
>>156698
Yes. That's why I say we expand on metallurgy and arms first
>>
>>156696
Good thing I took a shower first before writing huh.

>>156698
As far as you know, the Spinarak rebels still exist.

The Gible tribe clearly wants war but after the slave rescue, you have no idea if they've gotten cold feet at such a precise military maneuver or just building up their forces. Some more observation will help but you should be wary.

>>156704
The tribe has only just gotten copper. They've some long ways to go before gunpowder and iron. But weapons like swords and such can be built. Spear-Skorupi already exist as well.

Actually, I should list what has been invented so give me a minute.

>>
>>156873
Let's begin creating copper armor
>>
>>156838
Is our secret language close to being developed? We'll definitely want to keep surveillance. But I think we should limit it to spinarak until we can sure the message is secure. Also, we should have someone search for spies.
>>
>>156884
First you need to create a blacksmith to utilize that ore; it can be built in one round.

>>156905
The language has 3 more turns to be finished.

You send some Yanma to survey the Gible lands to check what they might be doing. This will take 4 turns due to the distance.

You send one of the most keen Skorupi you know to check around and see if there are spies in the area. Knowing that Gible are Ground-types- they could easily hide in the earth and listen in on whatever is happening. With this knowledge, the Skorupi decides to dig in a suspicious spot and see if someone has been sticking around.

The Skorupi digs for a bit before finding a sleeping Drilbur. He calls for the guards and they promptly arrest the sleepy intruder for interrogation.

You begin to build a blacksmith in the town. This will take one round to complete.

>>156947

Some enterprising Abra decided to work with some Skorupi- having them cut some trees down for wood while the Abra carved it psychically into a square form before adding back braces so it doesn't snap in two so easily.

You have invented the SQUARE SHIELD. You may now equip this to any soldier in the tribe- as long as they have hands and/or claws that can grip.

The Spear-Skorupi now have proper shields as well- what shall we call this new infantry unit?

What is your next action?

Rolled 10 (1d20)

>>156932
If 1, skorupi is spy

can we spy on spinarak too?
>>
>>156999
let the drillbur know we're not opposed to breeding with it.

>>156999
Let's get some mills going, maybe powered by waterwheel technology.
>>
>>157003
You can, just tell me what Pokemon to send.

>>157017
You tell your captive that you are not afraid to forcefully breed it with any Pokemon here. It has a look of abject horror on its(?) face

>>157046
You decide to build a mill but as there are no rivers close enough, you settle on a wind powered one it will take 2 rounds to complete.

The Blacksmith is now finished and new weaponry and armor may be made of COPPER

1 turn before language is invented.
>>
>>157136
Ehh, send a yanma. Dragonflies don't get stuck in webs.

Is the spy willing to tell us anything? Also that was supposed to be an offer. If need be, send in a Nidoran F to seduce the secrets away.
>>
>>157136
Tell the drillbur we have a much cooler society
>>
>>157190
To be honest, it didn't read as an offer in my mind.

You send a couple of Yanma into the Spinarak territory to see what they have- for now, all you to do is wait for them to come back with some info on what's going on over there.

The spy that's been locked up has been quiet since they were arrested. The tribe sent a Nidoran F to see if she could seduce the Drilbur only to find herself rebuff. The Drilbur would be a little tough to crack but prodding in the right place may do the trick.

>>157220
You tell the Drillbur that your society is definitely better than the Gible one. He responds by asking what you have that they don't. What will you answer?

===

Also, the tribe has now invented LANGUAGE. No more does your tribe members speak a common tongue to common, wild Pokemon. You have advanced past that and created the first written and spoken LANGUAGE. As with CURRENCY, the use may spread depending on the flow of trade between tribes but considering the LANGUAGE was made to be used only by your tribe, it will for now remain within the tribe.

What shall you name this new language? What are your next actions?
>>
>>157249
>What will you answer?

Religion.

Convert the drillbur
>>
>>157249
Breed Zigzagoon and Shinx
>>
>>157249
Ehh, I don't care on the name. Can we still communicate with other tribes though? At least diplomats? If we send out spies, it might be better if they don't know common tongue.

>>157280
They might have that. Tell them about our widespread equality and how we freed those slaves. He's probably not in the gible ruling class
>>
>>157280
This. Tell him that the Gible will all suffer in purgatory for being unbelievers.
>>
>>157957
You breed ZIGZAGOON and SHINX to make

PACHIRISU

PACHIRISU are now available for use

===

>>158125
>>157280
You tell the Drilbur of your RELIGION. It states that it already knows of it and is sort of impressed. It thinks that Azelf is a stronger god than the one the Gible worship before realizing his mistake and covering his mouth.

>>158121
You can communicate with them. The other tribes are using the same speech all Pokemon have for now but they will all eventually invent their languages. Which is why I asked for name, I don't want to force one onto you all.

===

You tell the now quiet Drilbur that all the Pokemon that live and work in the tribe are effectively equal. You know he's probably nowhere near the top of the chain and how he could achieve more here. He looks like he's starting to crack, some more good words might change his tune, and his allegiance.

What is you next action?
>>
>>158258
Tell him of the horrors that await those who deny Azelf in the next life, and the horrors awaiting him in this life as a prole
>>
>>158290
This. But azelf is a very merciful deity to those who convert.

We have crystalline currency, right? Maybe we can build a market to both spread our influence, and get new neat materials
>>
>>158290
>>158361
You tell the Drilbur of the horrors that will await him in the next life he shouldn't choose to follow Azelf but also that she is very merciful to those who follow her.

He mumbles something in response. When asked, he states that he'll tell you whatever you want and that he'll convert to following Azelf from now own- as long as you stop telling him about his possible afterlife.

You may now ask the Drilbur for further info on the Gible tribe.

===

You decide to build a MARKETPLACE and attract traders from all over the island to buy and sell using your CURRENCY. This will certainly propagate the use of it faster. The MARKETPLACE will be done in 1 round.

What is your next action?
>>
>>158594
Find saltpetre, charcoal and sulphur.
>>
>>158594
Ask him what the gible's intentions are. Also bring him some nice food to warm him up to us.

I think we should consider building an unnecessarily large bronze monument (either religious or non), so everyone knows how great we are when they come to trade

Sorry for the delay- I had to go out and change the oil in my car. It was now or next week.

>>158668
They're gonna need chemistry for that first. Except charcoal but coal can substitute if they can find some.

>>158679
You ask the Drilbur what info he has on the Gible tribe- as you do, you bring him a plate of roasted berries. His eyes filled with joy when he saw the food.

He notes that the Gible are having food trouble- which is why they rose from their caverns and attacked the Glameow tribe. It was a hopeless match-up that ended in the Gible favor. With the Glameow as vassals and slaves as well, they intend to increase there land and slave populace to accommodate the burgeoning Ground-type population but the Gible and their Gabite chieftain tend to hog the food to themselves, being Dragons, they have the clout to do this as much as they want. From what he's seen, the Skorupi-Yanma tribe is actually a massive threat and he reports that they are waiting for you to start the war with the Spinarak to attack- explaining why the Gible tribe hasn't attacked yet.

===
The MARKETPLACE is now complete. Traders will now float in and out of town, increasing exposure of many of the pieces of culture the tribe has. The little town is close to becoming a city. You should consider settling a new town somewhere. (Pic related, it's where the town is locally.)

What do you want the bronze monument to be? A Pokemon or something else?

What is your next action?
>>
>>159150
Well that makes the war business pretty tricky.

Ask about their military might

For the monument, an azelf might get us some sort of benefit.

For the town, I think settling on the river near the coast on the southern border of the central province would be good. Great for mills, potentially for sailing if we choose to implement that.
>>
>>159150
also maybe have someone start identifying the minerals from the mine and ground based on some objective qualities?
>>
Begin the research in armor and weaponry.
>>
>>159150
If we have language, it's time to invent literacy.

Make sure everybody can read.
>>
>>159150
Start developing chemistry
>>
>>159348
An effort is made to make sure the entire tribe can read and write the new language as well as they speak it. For the most part it works but the next generation will have to go through the same thing.

>>159267
The tribe begins to research for more armor and weapon solutions using the newly gained COPPER and BRONZE. It will be 2 rounds until an invention is made.

>>159244
>>159238
You ask the Drilbur about the Gible military and he notes that they have quite a lot of soldiers well trained in formation warfare. You find out that they also have spears and shields. It seems that the Gible tribe has the same war tech the Skorupi-Yanma tribe has.

===

You begin to make a Bronze MONUMENT to Azelf, mostly to show off the power and wealth of the tribe to outsiders visiting the Marketplace. Helde, the main priestess, is brought in to help describe what Azelf looks like. The monument will be done in 5 rounds.

===

The tribe has a decision to make. Keep growing the current town or settle a new one to accommodate growth. This action will take time, 10 rounds, to go and settle the new town along with some guardposts to keep it safe.

For this, I would like a seconding for this action.

>>159440
Some tribe members start to experiment in the mixing of certain chemicals that are around, especially the poisons the many Poison-types that populate the tribe. Because of this, the research of CHEMISTRY will take 4 rounds.

What is your next action?
>>
>>159551
so would founding a new town give us access to more resources? I'm kind of iffy on it, because now may not be a good time to divide our power.

Ask the Drilbur what he knows about the formations, if we can copy them, and any weaknesses he might know of (I realize a spy may not be the best tactician)
>>
>>159551
See if you can find any sulfur or coal deposits.
>>
>>159551
can we send a scout to the area I proposed to see it's value as a settlement location?
>>

>>159596
Founding a town would give you access to more resources, especially if it's in another province. Think of it like a Civ game when you're settling new cities- only what's found is determined by a dice roll. Of course, the trade off is that, yes you are splitting your populace but you can send a select few and even better, select species of Pokemon- if you so choose.

>>159616
You send a scouting party of Yanma to the search for a good settlement spot along the coast. It will take 1 round to survey for a suitable spot.

===

You ask the Drilbur about the formations and he states that the formation is a basic square with shields up front and spear-man in rows behind. You also ask for weaknesses. He ponders for a moment before saying that he notices that the formation can be split if one could hit from the air, as long as they avoid the raised spears of course.

You learn of TACTICAL FORMATIONS- although you only know the basic square phalanx but this is a step toward better military tactics.

>>159601
You send a team of Skorupi and Nincada to look for any deposits of coal as well as any other ores of interest.

cool. Well we should definitely hold off at least until there's more opinions, but I still think now might now be a great time.

We should appoint a general to work on air formations for the flying types.

And hell, let's start raising a younger tribe member to become a spy that doesn't speak the common tongue. That way if it's ever captured, we're fine.
>>
Also for the guy who wants to make guns, the best form of saltpeter we'll probably find is from Woobat dung (bat guano can be converted into the stuff) so I guess we can start thinking of a way that we discovered that where it makes any sort of sense.

Finally my zoology class is useful
>>
>>159909
After a soldier gets Woobat guano on his armor due to accidentally walking into a Woobat cave and tripping, he puts it in a tub to soak overnight. when he returns, he notices some crystals in the water. Now we just have to find out how to get them out.
>>
>>159997
well saltpeter is an oxidation agent, so it probably turned that armor green. Our top chemists are probably beginning to look into the interesting discovery
>>
>>159997
We have a Woobat populace already. No need for wild Woobat to come into play.

>>159878
>>159877
The survey team has found SULFUR. A mine may be built on the site, which will take 1 round. Once done, the tribe will have access to SULFUR

>>159909
Cannon first, then gun. We still have a long way to go before that happens but you can still invent gunpowder once you find the right resources.
>>
>>159857
Alright guys, I'm having an idea. I think we should try and cut down some trees, to research sailing and build ships.

If we do this, we might gain access to some water types to domesticate/civilise, to breed and diversify our army.

There might be a smaller landmass off-shore that we can retreat to if things go pear shaped in the war. And on that landmass there might be new resources,

Worst case, we can just fish better.

Thoughts?

Appointing a general? And the spy thing? I saw them but the problem is, of course, tech/buildings. For both, a military training camp of some sort would help. And it would raise the general experience of the army itself.

>>160098
You begin to build a mine at the location of the sulfur veins. This action will take one turn.

===

You begin research on the effects the Woobat guano have had in the caves they use as hang-outs and such. It's been noted by many the strange crystals that form from the guano and are curious to what it is but it will take time. 5 rounds for this action to be completed.

===

The monument to Azelf is now complete. Not only is a source of great pride and worship but it also grants a boon during battle, increasing morale.

The survey along the coast for a new settlement is now complete. A map has been included of the best three locales.

===

As you continue your interrogation on the Drilbur about his homeland, the Yanma scouts have come back with some serious news.

It seems that the Gible tribe has been caught off guard! They have been declared war upon by the Mankey tribe to the east- it seems the Mankey want to cut them down in size and take their easternmost province. This could be taken advantage of if you act quickly.
>>
>>160193
Send our warriors equipped with the finest bronze armor and weapons to fight the Mankey horde! The west is the best!
>>
>>160211
>not the gible tribe
Gross
>>
>>160193
I'll be back in a couple of hours but feel free to deliberate on the new event that is happening.
>>
>>160193
Can we verify this claim? If it's true, we might want to act.Only problem is how will we do it? What will get? Are we going to take glameow lands? If we take gible lands, obviously the coastal one would be best.

We also need to talk to the nuzleaf. I don't know how they would feel about soldiers marching through their lands. Surely they feel threatened too.

I think we should send an emissary to negotiate a war alliance with the nuzleaf.
>>
>>160470
You can send another scouting party to check. Also, war demands are set by the posters, I'll check to make sure they're reasonable.

===
You send a diplomatic envoy to the Nuzleaf. They will arrive in 1 round.

What will you do next?
>>
>>160712
ehh, I guess we can just ask our yanma to swear on azelf that it's true. We already sent an envoy to the nuzleaf, worse case scenario they just awkwardly tell us there's no war. Train some more soldiers in the meantime.
>>
>>160138
True, true. Assuming we founded a coastal town, then, however long that would take. How do you feel about doing that, then researching sailing for those potential reasons?
>>
>>160997
Now might be a bad time if we're on the brink of war.

OP can we scout the middle province too? It might be better to have the second village closer since we keep building up to conflict.

But I think we should send an initial small group of settlers to set up shop. After any hostilities, we can shift some more attention to it.
>>
>>160880
You ask the Yanma to swear on the goddess Azelf that this isn't some sort of trap. After they swore, a blue light slapped one of the Yanma, who then admitted to she had separately found a different piece of info- that the

tribe has been increasing their forces dramatically; along with the Glameow, the total forces would outnumber the Mankey. But if we intervene...

===

You train more soldiers in the meantime. Your current armed force:

2 Spear-Skorupi (to be named) Units
5 General Infantry Units
3 General Air Units

===

>>160997
>>161097
>>160712
The middle province is the former main territory of the Yanma tribe can generally be settled anywhere within the province.

About coastal towns, generally, if I had landlocked capital city in Civ, the next I settle is always a port town. In the world, having a port of any kind is a must. That's my view anyways.

What is the next action?
>>
>>161132
Continue armor research.
Train more Skorupi Units and begin fitting them with bronze armor.
>>
>>161201
Actually, this should've been a round ago but:

You have invented BRONZE ARMOR, you can equip your troops with this armour.

Also..

You have invented CHEMISTRY.

You may make combinations if know substances to create other substances.
>>
>>161284

Excellent. For now, can we get roughly 10% of our Pokemon, send them to set up a settlement on the coast. We can move more Pokemon over there to speed up the process once war doesn't seem like such an immediate threat, yeah?
>>
>>155425
But I'm alive again. >>161264
>>
>>161284
Neat. But we should definitely join the fray after we talk to the nuzleaf. We can't let them build momentum. If we're lucky, the butterfree will get into it too.

How do we feel about building the village in the middle region in the southwest. Right on the coast, but also with river access?

Do our flying bugs know how to use their status effects? It would be nice to use sleep powder or something similar
>>
>>161310
No offense bruv, I like this one better

>>
>>161305
If you're moving to the coast, then select one of the three circled spots in or mark your own preferred spot on the map provided - >>160193

>>161311
You may talk to the Nuzleaf now actually. The Envoy has made it to the main Nuzleaf settlement.

===

For the settlement, any seconds for this choice?

===

As long as it's reasonable, they will know it but the effects won't be permanent until healed- it will heal naturally- for balance sake but it will last whatever I roll out of 1d6.
>>
>>161311
Oh yeah, the Butterfree. Considering their alliance with the Spinarak is almost null thanks to the rebels, it's suspect they might stay out of this war.
>>
>>160193
Crap, missed another.

The SULPHUR Mine is now complete and being worked on.

What is your next action?
>>
>>161368
Alrighty, we might go with the southmost circled area, settle there
>>
>>161565
You send a small portion of population, around 10%, and some guards to go and settle a new port town on the southern most point on the peninsula in the province.

This action will take 7 rounds to complete.
>>
>>161592
Send the fastest flying Pokemon we have into Mankey lands, warn them of the coming war.

Hopefully we can be allies when we (inevitably) go to war with the Glameow tribe. They're going to struggle to fight a war on two fronts, no doubt.
>>
>>161674
They are already at war, in fact the Mankey are the Aggressor >>160193

And the Glameow are a vassal state under the Gible. They're in this war as well.
>>
>>161704
Fucking hell, muh reading comprehension
>>
Ask the Nuzleaf if they'd be willing to

A. let us march soldiers through there land

B. Join us

Citing the dangerous habits of the Gible, and implying if we let them expand, the Nuzleaf are next.
>>
>>162088
You ask the Nuzleaf if they are willing to either, letting your troops march through their land, or joining them in attacking the Gible. You tell them that naturally, the next on their list of targets, besides you, would be the Nuzleaf tribe.

The Nuzleaf state they are willing to join the war but the main conditions are:

1. The Skorupi-Yanma agree to a non-aggression pact with them, lasting 100 rounds. This will effectively stop you from declaring war on the Nuzleaf but vice versa.

2. They get the Gible's westernmost province

Will you accept?
>>
Also, a little side note here. Due to the fact no one gave suggestions for the language (or the new armed unit)- I'm going to give it a name and a basis for future reference; unless someone wants to suggest something?
>>
>>162541
Alright so out of my random selection I got Czech but it doesn't have to be called that but it will be the basis of the tribe's language. Again, unless I get a suggestion, I'm just going to roll what I have- which includes Czech as a name.
>>
>>162541
A type of language with a letter for every unique sound makeable by the Skorupi. It is similar to Lojban in syntax.
>>
>>162700
The thing is that the language the tribe speaks has to be spoken by a wide variety of Pokemon- not just the Skorupi, which is why I chose a random language as a basis for it.
>>
>>162774
Two languages? One is for the Skorupi and is considered a language for superior species, and the other is for everyone else and considered an inferior language.
>>
>>162446
Accept Nr.1 ,try to offer resources instead of allied land.
>>
>>162782
Technically, that's already happened considering the whole tribe now speaks the new language and everyone else (other tribes and wild Pokemon) all speak the "common tongue" so to speak. To the tribe, their language is the superior one. But I'll still consider this.

>>162783
Allied land? You're trying to convince the Nuzleaf to fight with you against the Gible, who are your enemies. Do you mean resources instead of more land as a prize for winning the war?
>>
>>162813
What are all the sounds the Skorupi are capable of pronouncing?
>>
>>162813
I thought we allied the Gible, or are they not the yellow tribe?
>>
>>162819
You're allied with the Yanma. The Gible have the Glameow as vassals. Is my map not clarified? I could fix it if needed.

>>162817
Considering they're arachnids in real life, screeching noises I presume.

===

Besides the language item on the table, any actions you want the tribe to make?
>>
>>162841
The map is clarified, I´m just being retarded. That and I've never played Pókemon.
>>
>>162841
A little bit more specific?
Also,
-More Melee Weapon Research
-More Armor Research
-More Metallurgy Research
>>
>>162865
I'm honestly no good with animal noise- especially arthropods and the such. To be honest, I would rather keep it simply, "Common" which every Pokemon can speak, and the specific languages that the tribes make. Spy code and such would be considered part of the language as well, for simplicities sake.

Also this separate language for the Skorupi would suggest that they want a two tier society, them and everyone else- is that what you have in mind?

===
Some members decide to research more weapon and/or armour solutions.

It will be 2 rounds for the results of the research.

===

What is your next action? Remember the proceedings with the Nuzleaf are still ongoing.
>>
>>162894
maybe
Begin the making of a seperate Skorupi language, with a letter for every unique sound the Skorupi can pronounce and its grammar based on Czech.
>>
>>162902
The Czech is for the language that was already invented. It's what it is really now but will have a different name. Don't have to base a whole other language for it.

I need a seconding for this action to continue forth because it may have an adverse effect on the populace of the tribe.
>>
>>162902
Second
>>
>>162902
No pls.

Let's just pretend our language was made for skorupi tongues, and everyone else just kind of figured it out.

I'm okay with accepting their terms. This could eventually lead with a full on alliance and merger
>>
>>163374
>>163292
>>163097
>>162902

I've debated this to myself for a bit and through the powers of QM fiat, the language that the tribe speaks was made by Skorupi for their use only but adapted it for the tribe and now it sounds like Czech. This is final- I'm sorry I started this mess.

===

I have one that wants to accept the terms the Nuzleaf have provided and one that wants to negotiate. I'm gonna need some second opnions on this.
>>
>>163570
Well, I still want to begin the making of a class-based society.
Tier 1 - Skorupi
Tier 2 - Yanma
Tier 3 - Other Arthropods
Tier 4 - Non-Arthropods
>>
>>163614
Understandable but there are no benefits from this unless you want to enslave a certain Pokemon species. Other than that, it will just make the tribe have a harder time cohesively.
>>
>>163685
Enslave all non-Arthropods then I guess.
>>
>>163701
This action would need a vote to carry through considering it would have an adverse effect on the tribe on every level and due to the fact the population of arthropods is level with non-arthropods.

I know it feels like I'm blocking you're every move but you're focusing on something that isn't exactly important at the moment and would only hinder the tribe at whole. I've dealt with too many That Guys doing stupid crap to let something go like this unchecked. Sorry.
>>
>>163759
Then we shall breed more Skorupi.
>>
>>163769
You breed more Skorupi, increasing the population from 320 to 350.

===

The Weapon Research is finished: You have invented the SHORTSWORD. You may equip the shortsword to your soldiers that can wield it (only those that have fingers or claws that can grip).

The Armour Research is finished: You have invented the HELMET. You may equip this on all soldiers.

Current background actions:

Settling a new town (port) - 3 rounds

Mankey Tribe is fighting Gible tribe who lord over the Glameow tribe

What is your next action?
>>
>>163807
Attack those Gible in the back, citing religious reasons.

try to coordinate with the mankeys. I want to pincer these fucking dragons.
>>
>>163807
More armor and weapon research.
>>163833
We should also capture Gible to use as slaves.

As before, 2 rounds until it is finished.

I have no issue with their terms, as long as they offer support. But if we take over any glameow/gible land, we want open border access.

Any other thoughts?
>>
>>163883
Wage war against the Nuzleaf.
>>
>>163906
We should enslave the Nuzleaf, we have a larger territory and presumably superior technology.
>>
>>163909
>>163926
dude, calm down.

Gible is a pretty big threat
>>
>>163909
>>163926
Considering you have no idea who the Nuzleaf are allied with and the fact they are willing to ally with you- this would be considered an absolutely petty thing to do.
>>
>>163883
Yeah, let's do it I say. Fuck the Gible. Nuzleaf are enemies but the Gible betrayed us. BETRAYAL!
>>
>>163981
>>163906
Well that's two for an alliance.

===

You are now war allies with the NUZLEAF tribe. You may cross their land to wage war if you desire.

What will your next move be?
>>
>>164010
Tell the Nuzleaf to invade the Westernmost province of the Gible tribe.

We invade area 4 of the Glameow Tribe but attempt to make a push for the Purugly(?) chieftain so as to get them to flip to us since we're quite clearly stronger than their dragon allies.

At the same time, try to get an Abra Scout who perhaps, since he worked in the Gible mines, might be able to teleport close to an encamped army of the mankey tribe and coordinate with them to pincer any armies the Gible might have.
>>
I think we should leave one general unit behind and have general villagers create more (fortifications) and train.

The rest should I think storm either glameow capital, or gible capital. Glameow is likely less defended, but attacking the gible will likely throw them enough that the mankey can turn their front. Also if we capture the glameow land, we can assure ourselves some land quickly.
>>
>>164038
oh okay, let's just go with that. But keep my idea about reenforcing.
>>

>>164058
As most of the army leaves for its first major war, a single general infantry unit had been left behind for defense along with the civilian populace, who were hard at work fortifying the capital and researching new weapons and armor.

>>164078
>>164038
You coordinate with the Nuzleaf to attack the Gible's westernmost province (44) while you attack the Glameow's closest province, hoping to cut a way to the Glameow capital and release them. Since the Glameow were not expecting you to invade, you swept through the province (4) with utmost speed intending on making it to the capital in the eastern province (1). At the same time, the Nuzleaf destroy the defenses that were in the province they invaded, catching the Gible by surprise and making them lose their morale. The open moves of the war have been made and no more surprise attacks are possible.

===
You send an Abra scout, wearing your tribes colors, to teleport into the Gible land to see if they can find a Mankey army and talk to them. He wanders around for a bit before finding a small contingent- most likely a scouting party themselves. He goes up and claims that he represents the Skorupi-Yanma tribe and tells them to send a message to their main army that they have help from the west- your combined might is now driving through the Glameow lands and gaining upon their capital. The Mankey squad send a messenger to deliver the message and salute the Abra before walking off, most likely to map more of the territory.

What is your next move?
>>
>>164175
Let`s begin expansion on military formations, along with breeding more Skorupi and training more soldiers to troops.
>>
>>164175
Send the Purugly Chieftain a simple message.

The Gible tribe practices a false religions and is weaker than The Skorupi-Yanma alliance.

We will be much nicer daimyos and treat their tribe with kindness if they switch vassalage to us.

One day we might even free them from their vow or incorporate them fully into our tribe.

If they refuse our offer. Well, then we'll just conquer and take their land, stripping the Purugly chieftain of all the current political power he currently holds.

Simultaneously, try to get a deal with the Mankey going.

If they promise not to touch the Glameow tribe's territory we'll let them take provinces 39 and 40 from the gible.

When we win this war.
>>
>>164205
You breed more Skorupi, raising the population from 350 to 370.

You practice military formations- it will take 3 rounds for a new formation to be made.

You train more troops. They will be ready in 2 rounds.

>>164278
You send a Yanma envoy to the Glameow with a simple message- become the vassal of the Skorupi-Yanma and one day either be freed or be integrated and become equal citizens in the tribe. If they refuse you will conquer their lands with impunity and strip the chieftain of all his power.

===

You also send an envoy to the Mankey but it will take 2 rounds for the envoy to reach them.

===
The research for better weapons is now finished: you have invented the MACE, you may equip this troops who can hold this (Pokemon with fingers)

The research for better armor is finished: you have invented LEATHER ARMOR, you may equip this armor to all air-born Pokemon as this is light armor- air-born Pokemon cannot wear heavy armors.

===
Also, what do you want your armed forces to wield? You may which units can wield a certain weapon.

Current Weapons:
Spear
Shortsword
Mace

Current Armor:
Bronze - Heavy
Leather - Light

2 Skull Units - Equipped with Spears and Shields - Made of Skorupi only
5 General Infantry Units - Equipped with
3 General Air Units - Equipped with , Light Armor Only

Research weaponry which Skorupi are capable of wielding.
Research more heavy armor.
Research Metallurgy.
Breed more Skorupi.
>>
>>164401
>3 General Air Units - Equipped with , Light Armor Only
Leather and spears, but they should be mostly yanma

5 General Infantry Units - Equipped with bronze and shortsword

I want to integrate leathered up pichu into all units to serve as electric attackers in case the enemy has conductible equipment
>>
>>164401
Should state this, I'll be back in a few hours.
>>
in general I think our skorupi should use the spears since they're pretty small. Pichu should use lighter weapons like shortswords. And since abra is kind of our heaviest, they can use weapons like maces. But ideally heavier pokemon will use those. Our units can use pokemon moves too, right?
>>
>>164460
>164460
Abra can teleport
Yanma can fly.

So I assume general things carry over.

pichu can use electricity to power stuff
>>
>>164490
okay, cool.

So if it comes to us coming onto a battle, we should send our flying types to use sleep powder or stun spore or something. It could be pretty OP if they neglected to make archers (like we did)

>>164523
Testudo Formation.
>>
>>164553
OP said earlier they were vulnerable to sky attacks. I was operating under the assumption their shields were kind of small, like ours
>>

I mean we should research formations and expand our shields to get the Testudo Formation.
>>
>>164590
gotcha, I agree with that. I was more concerned for our air forces.

We should build a military training camp so we can get into more complex formations
>>
Who do you guys think we should ally with next?
Allying with Spheal and attacking then dividing Spinarak terrirory on some Nazi Germany Soviet Union shit seems like a pretty good plan
>>
>>164687
We should become gods in military and metallurgy, along with conquering the Gible and Glameow tribes before the Spinarak and Butterfree.
>>
>>164687
I think we should try and merge with the nuzleaf before we go into more relationships Then we can concentrate on building up while gaining more land
>>
>>164708
No metallurgy yet but military you can do. Soon naval as well.

>>164490
Pokémon can use they're normal moves but they generally don't kill other Mon so weapons come into play. Good for distractions though.

yeah, I meant I just want to build it. Sorry for ambiguity

>>166466
Alright, well we tell the Glameow that if they attack our forces with their own troops in any way before the war ends, the deal's off. They have to stay out.

to the Mankey's, tell them to focus on the Gible and coordinate a major attack on the Gible headquarters. In exchange for their cooperation, they'll get province 39 and 40.

Also offer to trade tech. What do the Mankey got?
>>
>>166484
You tell the Glameow to not fight your army under any condition or the deal is through. They eagerly accept your conditions and quickly messaged their military leaders about the news.

===

You tell the Mankey to focus on the Gible and to try and coordinate an attack on the Gible capital. In exchange they can keep the two provinces close to them. (39 + 40)

You also offer to trade tech. The Mankey in exchange for RELIGION the will give the knowledge of LIGHT SHIPS.

>The tribe has no idea such a berry exists
What kind of special berries exist in the civilization?
Pokemon attacks can't kill other Pokemon but it can weaken them so I imagine special berries can help them in battle.
Since this is a mainly bug civilization, I assume there are Berries that help resist Bug? If there are, it can help the Abra and Espurr.
>>
The basic training camp is now finished, you may now train SPIES and OFFICERS as well as research FORMATIONS faster. Recruitment time will be now 1 round shorter.

>>168007
It's more of a matter of finding the berry and then farming- it exists, all of them do really, it's just a matter of finding it.

>>167982
Your army storms through the Glameow lands unopposed and march all the way to the Gible lands looking for a fight. Once there, they find an army waiting for them. It's time for a battle..

Battles will work like this: Each unit has a basic strength modified by the weapons they hold while they also have a basic defense as well, modified by the armour they wear. Each round, you will either be attacking or defending- either way, you must roll the number of units you have (9)d100 plus the total of your modifiers, which I will write down. The opposing force (me) must roll the same. If the attacking number is higher by certain amounts (20, 40, 60 etc.) the number of units the opposing force loses is increased. Before the defense round starts, you may choose a formation that your army makes, this will effect all rolls. The battle will last until there are no units on the opposing side or they choose to retreat- vice versa for you.

This is the attack round

Weapons and Armour modifiers:
Spear = +2 attack
Shortword = +1 attack
Mace = +1 attack
Leather Armour = +1 defense
Bronze Armour = +2 defense
Shield = +1 defense

Skorupi-Yanma Units(Attack):
2 Skull Units - Skorupi Spear and Square Shield - +1 to defense/ +2 to attack - No Formation
4 General Infantry Units - Bronze Armour and Shortswords - +2defense/ +1 attack - No Formation
3 General Air Units - Leather Armour and Spears - +1 defense/ +2 attack - No Formation

Possible Formations -
Square = +1

General modifier -
Azelf Monument = +1 to all rolls

Total current modifier = +6 to attack roll / +5 defense roll

Roll 9d100+6 for damage

Opposing forces (Defense):
8 General Infantry Units - Spear and Shield - +1 defense/ +2 attack - Square Formation +1

Total current modifier = +3 attack rolls / +2 defense rolls

Rolling 8d100+2

===

I hope this isn't too complicated- this was really the only way to incorporate weapons and armor and such into battle but it is engaging. I kinda based it of EU's system of dice rolls to determine damage.

Rolled 15, 54, 96, 50, 32, 32, 19, 50, 74 + 6 = 428 (9d100 + 6)

>>168282
Okay, cool. Not that I'm really concerned, but is it possible to buff the weapons a bit? If we had a death ray squad that offered +50 weapon strength, it still wouldn't really make too much of a difference.
>>
>>168293
We will get Iron soon hopefully, buffing our units defense and offense further.
>>
>>168297
Well what I'm saying is that if we have a +6 bonus now, and we develop iron swords and armor, then our bonus goes to like +8, which is kind of negligible if you're talking about a roll with 9d100.
>>
>>168316
Should our bonus be +2 x Number of Skull Units + +1 x Number of Infantry Units + +2 x Number of General Air Units instead?
>>
>>168316
I agree, they should be d6s, maybe d10s we're rolling here.
>>
>>168297
>>168327
>>168330

I noticed myself- I'm trying to keep this balanced and this is a new thing I made- just testing the waters and can be changed. Here:

All modifiers are now multiplied by the number of units.

Weapons and Armour modifiers:
Spear = +10 attack
Shortword = +15 attack
Mace = +18 attack
Leather Armour = +10 defense
Bronze Armour = +20 defense
Shield = +15 defense

Skorupi-Yanma Units(Attack):
2 Skull Units - Skorupi Spear and Square Shield - +10 to defense/ +10 to attack - Square Formation +10 - x2 = +30 D/+30A
4 General Infantry Units - Bronze Armour and Shortswords - +20 defense/ +15 attack - Square Formation +10 - x4 = +90D/+70A
3 General Air Units - Leather Armour and Spears - +10 defense/ +10 attack - Square Formation +10 - x3 = +40D/+40A

Possible Formations -
Square = +10

General modifier -
Azelf Monument = +10 to all rolls

Total current modifier = +140 to attack roll / +170 defense roll

Opposing forces (Defense):
7 General Infantry Units - Spear and Shield - +15 defense/ +10 attack - Square Formation +10 - x7 = 115D/80A

Total current modifier = +80 attack rolls / +115 defense rolls

Is this better for d100 rolls?
>>
>>168371
Yeah, I like that. I'm just thinking of those war scenarios where soldiers that our incredibly outnumbered can still win because of their superior technology. This seems to have a better balance between forces and technology.

Do Skorupi and Yanma even get Earthquake?
>>
Rolled 5 (1d6)

>>168797
It's not just Gible, the army is called the Gible army because the it's called the Gible tribe, still, it is made up of mostly Ground types.

>>168848
Drapion could but there are no Drapion in the army so no Earthquake.

>>168717
>>168787
277-545= -268

Despite the Earthquake, the Gible tribe was still unable to break the opposing defense and ended up losing a unit in the fray. The Gible army is on its last legs, it may be decided within the next two turns. The Skorupi-Yanma set-up a Sleeping Powder that will induce sleep on one unit for a random number of turns out 1d6 rolled by me. That unit will be unable to battle and their modifier will not be included.

I will roll the Sleeping Powder first to determine it's turns but I will be rolling 3d100+45

You will roll 9d100+140

>>168938
696-235= 461 - Four units killed

A little late for that and really, the sleep powder was too.

The Skorupi-Yanma tears through the remaining units of the Gible army, leaving only around 50 or so assorted Ground types injuried but alive.

The battle is over, and the winner, with 0 casualties is the Skorupi-Yanma Army.

What will you do with the survivors?
>>
>>169015
Enslave them, they can be used for working.
>>
Jesus, RIP in peace.

I'm not a huge fan of enslaving them, but if it's the popular opinion, whatever. But I think we should do it on a meritocratic basis. If we have slaves, there can be social mobility on those who've earned it.

Also I don't really see the point in slaves, it's not like we have problems with being productive. Our citizens are pretty chill with working.
>>
>>169015
Also, have someone write a song of our awesome victory. Let no pokemon doubt the magnificent power of the arachnids.
>>
>>169015
Take the survivors as Prisoners of War, to potentially negotiate with the Gible chieftain.
>>
I'll be back in 4-5 hours. Personally, I would take the soldiers as POW but treat them well. If they go back, they'll have nothing but praise of the Skorupi-Yanma. It's also good to have leverage.
>>
>>169049
Yeah that works too.
>>
>>169049
This
>>
>>169044
You write an epic warsong that's somehow sounds like Eurobeat.

>>169049
You capture the survivors of the battle, mostly SANDSHREW and DRILBUR, as POW. You march them back to your capital, Jakoelfton, making sure to keep a good lock on them.

===
The battle has crippled the Gible army and now you stand at the gate of their capital.

What will you do now?
>>
>>171303
Breed more Skorupi.
We shall make a fuckton of Skorupi units with Iron Armor, Shield and Weaponry and storm the Gible capital.
>>
>>171321
First an Iron mine. Never mentioned it but they found iron but the battle rook priority so I forgot.

Also, you can pretty much march into the capital. The rest of Gible army is dealing with the Mankey. You took out the main defense.
>>
>>171321
Also you breed more Skorupi, increasing the pop. to 410. You should start breeding your other pops at this point.
>>
>>171362
Do we have Iron Armor, Shields and such?
>>
>>171365
You need to mine iron first but once you do, all the weapons you have will be iron but you must research new armour. The new iron weapons will obviously be buffed.
>>
>>171395
Time to mine Iron.
>>
>>171395
Also expand on shield technology and breed more Skorupi.
>>
>>171303
Obviously tell them to surrender.
>>
>>171402
You start to mine iron, it will take 1 round for it to be available.

You start researching better shields. This will take 3 rounds.

You breed more Skorupi. Pop is now 440.

===

I'll be on Monday afternoon; so good night.
>>
How is this thread still alive
>>
>>171511
what do you mean?
>>
>>171511
I don't quit like most QMs. I take it nice and slow and don't get frustrated.

>>171454
The Iron mine is now complete. You now have access to IRON.

>>166466
The research for heavy armor is finished: you have invented CHAIN-MAIL. All heavy armor will now get a permanent +15 modifier.

What is your next move? Remember, your main army is right outside the Gible capital.
===

Also, Pastebin for info is now up >>http://pastebin.com/B4bgBxNn
>>
>>172955
Plate Armor.
Breed more Skorupi.
Give all Skorupi Units Chainmail Armor.
>>
>>172955
>>172984
Also replace Bronze Weaponry with Iron Weaponry.
>>
>>172984
All heavy armor units now have Chainmail- no need to equip.

You breed more Skorupi - the pop is now 460.

>>172988
That will take 2 rounds to complete.

Any buildings you want to build? Anything you want to do with the GIble- the war isn't done until you make a treaty and your army is just standing outside their capital.
>>
>>173137
So what new Skorupi-only weapon did we get by the way?
>>
>>173137
Umm, Demand they surrender?
>>
>>173137
Storm the capital.
>>
>>173145
I keep forgetting to mention things- you have invented the POISONED WAR-AXE. Only Skorupi may equip this. It's modifier is +20.

>>173182
One for make them surrender and one for storming the gates. Unless you two want to combine ideas, a tiebreaker will be done.

>>173189
Equip all Skorupi Units with the Poisoned War Axe.
Make more Poisoned War Axe+Chainmail Skorupi Units.
Breed more Skorupi.
Storm the Gible capital.
>>
>>173189
I guess we could storm it to get to their leader. But I don't think we should kill anyone not actively resisting.
>>
>>173189

If they say no, storm the gates.
>>
>>173191

>>
>>173191
You equip the Skorupi units with the Poisoned War Axe.

===
You train more specialized Skorupi units, this will take 4 rounds.

>>173191
>>173515
You send your main army right into the capital, finding little resistance as the main defense garrison was demolished in your previous battle.

You check around to see if you can find the leader of the Gible tribe, a Gabite known as Verum according to the local populace, but you find that he is out acting as general with the army that is fighting the Mankey. Of course, he left behind a council that can take place with your peace negotiations.

===
>>164401

Due to your vigorous training, you have trained 3 General Infantry Units and 1 General Air Unit.

You may train specialized units in other Pokemon (besides Skorupi) as well.

What should your peace demands be? Remember to include the Mankey and the Nuzleaf tribes or you will anger them greatly.
>>
>>173590
Conquer the Gible territory.
>>
>>173590
Take the Gabite General's territory. Send him a message to surrender to the Mankey or we're gonna destroy his city, steal his waifu and delete his runescape account

>>173590

Mankey get provinces 39 and 40

Nuzleaf get province 42.

We get province 41 and also the Glameow Tribe as a vassal.

((Sorry it took so long to come back- Stellaris is addicting))

>>175598
>>173600
>>173621
You decide that you should get the least territory, after all, you are getting the Glameow as a vassal state. The Mankey can have provinces 39 and 40 while the Nuzleaf can have province 42.

They must either accept or the city will be razed to the ground and slaughter the populace... or steal the Chieftain's wife- whichever more effective.

===

The tribal council voted to accept but it was up to the Chieftain to accept the demands and as the days wore on, the populace was growing desperate- messenger's had been sent but no one returned. Were the Mankey slaughtering them? Or was the Chieftain that down on men.

The answer came when the Mankey army marched into view, the chieftain's head on a spear high above the army.

The council had no choice but to accept in the face of no leader, dissolving the tribe into the three nations that fought.

This is the current map of Root Island. It seems that have now gained new pops. You have gained, SANDSHREW, DRILBUR, GIBLE, LAVITAR and WOOPER. They are now all available for use.

Due to your territorial acquisition, you can now contact the ZUBAT tribe. You may also continue contact with the MANKEY tribe.
>>
>>175876
Declare war on Zubat tribe.
>>
>>175876
Awesome. Let's tell the nuzleaf that we hope for more cooperation in the future.

SAILING TIME

Send some crews out to sea
>>
>>175906
Your army and your nation just got of a war- is that really a good idea?

>>175914
First you need an actual HARBOR and some SHIPS. Can't send them out unless we want them to swim- no matter how nice the water may be.
>>
>>175941
Well, we scout the Zubat territory instead.
Breed more Skorupi and begin training more Chainmail and Poisoned War Axe units.
>>
>>175876
Set up a trade agreement with the Zubat tribe.

Invent the idea of political marriages to solidify tribal alliances.

Construct a harbor.

Instruct the Glameow to invade the Spinarak tribe while informing the rebels in the Spinarak it is go time.
>>
>>175948
You send some Yanma to scout out the Zubat lands. This will take 2 rounds.

===

You breed more Skorupi, raising the pop. to 500. Reacting to this overwhelming difference, all other pops. breed, raising their pops. by 30.

You train more specialized Skorupi units. This will take 4 rounds.

>>175953
Once you scout out their lands, you may interact with them.

To form a political marriage, the nation must be under a monarchy- which is available but a complex action to take.

You begin to construct a HARBOR in Chrabrost. This will take 4 rounds.

I will need a vote for war declaration. Waging war with the Spinarak is fine (because that was the plan originally and you actually have casus belli to do so) but you still need a vote to do so. 3 other yes's for war is enough considering the low number of posters swinging by.

===

The current housing in Jakoelftón and Chrabrost, is now too little. To raise the population further, build more houses in either town.

===
Current actions:
Training Poision Skull Units - 2 rounds
Researching Metallurgy - 6 rounds

What is your next action?
>>
>>176039
Build houses in both towns.
>>
>>176039
So did we get larger shields, iron weapons and plate armor yet?
>>
>>176085
You start to build housing in both towns. This will take 2 rounds.

>>176135
>>171454

The research for better shields is over: You have invented the SCUTA. You may equip this shield to all troops.

All weapons had already been upgraded to IRON. I made note of it on the pastebin but forgot here but feel free to see the effects. They're quite jarring.

===
To have plate armor you must have STEEL. You do not have METALLURGY yet so this is impossible to research.
>>
>>176184
Plate armor can be made from Iron
>>
>>176184
Also, research on evolving the poisoned war axe to become more deadly.
And converting bronze armor to iron armor.
>>
>>176184
And begin equipping all Skorupi units with Iron Scuta and Chainmail.
Convert Infantry Units to Poisoned Skull Units.
>>
>>176194

In this game, it's all about progressing forward over time (sort of), Plate armor would technically just be Steel Armor in this quest/Civ. Evo. Just progress naturally and you'll get it. I know some people want to warmonger very badly but there are limits- or else the tribe would've had guns during the Bronze Age; and I won't have that.

===
You start making IRON armor to replace the BRONZE armor, this will take 2 rounds.

>>176207
WEAPONS cannot be modified to be deadlier, except if they are converted to higher tier material(Copper to Iron). You can research new ones however the Skorupi only had one special weapon in this. Try not neglecting the rest of the populace when it comes to special weapons.

===
You can only train new units. You may not convert existing units. Besides, there are already two actions of Poison Skull units to be trained.

===

That's all for tonight. I'll be back Tuesday.
>>
Use Fire-Starting and Sulphur to research into simple Explosions.

>>
>>177066

You had already invented CHEMISTRY. No one asked to start researching GUNPOWDER from what I've read, I'll triple check to be sure.

(Also, battles are one turn, they'e just long.)

>>176961
You breed NINCADA and STUNKY to make

SANDILE

Sandile is now available for use.

===
Some of the more "enterprising" members of the tribe were messing around with extra sulfur that was laying around. Before long, they accidentally lit some on fire, causing a small explosion, alerting the entire town to their antics. While they were getting scolded for their stupidity, the chemist asked what caused the explosion in the first place. They don't remember but it does involve Sulfur and a mix of other things they put into a barrel.

The Chemist's natural knowledge will be putting two and two together to find out what the mixture that exploded was but your tribe now knows of EXPLOSIONS. Soon, the Chemist might harness it through a material in 4 rounds.

===
Training for the new Poison Skull Units is now complete. You now have 4 Poison Skull Units.

EVENT: SHIP ON THE HORIZON

As your harbor is hard at work making brand new trade ships for the nation, someone spots a ship in the distance- a light ship from the looks of it. It's clear whomever it is, only sailing along the coast, possibly mapping it. You could send some Flying-types over to check it out or just ignore it.

What do you do?
>>
>>178065

You give them a map of the island, without the nations on the map. They look at at for a few minutes before giving you a map. It includes their duchy and their ally.

Ah fuck it, I'll let you guys decide. Ignore my previous vote.

I should remind everyone that if the coup goes through, the westernmost provinces (6 and 7) of the Spinarak tribe will be yours while the easternmost will become the rebels as decided upon a previous arrangement last thread.

ehh, under monarchies countries would tend to blob up like crazy after the right alliances.

Fuck that, divide the easternmost provinces between the Spheal (if they want them, otherwise take it for ourselves) and the Glameow.

Considering there are no other votes (other than one that was taken back) a tiebreaker shall be done.

1 - Support the coup
2 - Blitzkrieg everything

I'll end it here, before the army storms off in a valiant wind.

Next thread will be Thursday.
