RECAP

You are Natalya Ilyushina, a non-Girtablilu scorpiongirl. Setting is the USSR during the start of WW2 where EVERYONE is a monster girl.

You were a mercenary, fired from the company after killing your team in a botched mission. You drink your days away in a pub in Opochka before deciding to take up some freelancing, heading to the town board you respond to various letters asking for help. On one of these jobs you meet a pragmatic hellhound named Eva. Heading to the same job, she attacks you, cracking your carapace and leaving you bruised to secure it for herself. In revenge you dislocate her arms at the elbow, dragging her off to an alleyway to question her. She doesn't seem to hold a grudge. She accepts your offer of help, carting her back on a trolley, she leads you back to her home, a makeshift settlement located under an overpass. It has a population of around 200, with its buildings constructed mostly out of out of corrugated metal.

You head to the back of an abandoned munitions factory to complete the job, you find a grisly scene, walls and dirt soaked with blood, a centaur shovels bodies into a van. Killing the centaur, you look around for a place to wash the blood and mud off your body. This is where you find an elf-child, Katya. You adopt her, bringing her back to camp. She's mature for her age, and very endearing. You take her back to camp in the same manner you took Eva, at MAXIMUM SPEED.

Returning to the munitions factory, you remove the bodies from the van with a shovel, use a tarp to cover the vast majority of blood stains and drive it back to the settlement where Ludya, the closest thing to a mechanic in the camp washes it for you.

You spend the next few days with Eva and Katya, building up your relationship with them. Katya doesn't seem keen on leaving your side, but Eva alleviates this by teaching her life lessons, how to survive on the streets and how to fire a gun. Confronted one night by an unruly hobo, she accuses you of wasting camp resources, eating their food while providing nothing in return. You remedy this by suplexing her, while also offering your services as a camp guard.
>>
You head off to guard a shipment of katyusha rockets to Tskov. Halfway through the train ride, you get ambushed by Chechen nationalists. You lose some guards, but you manage to kill your attackers. You loot the corpses, noticing that they're armed with German weapons and equipment. The rest of the ride to Tskov is uneventful, punctuated only by a boisterous minotaur named Tatyana, in awe of your prowess in a firefight, asking if you would like to team up, fuck shit up. You accept.

On arrival, rockets safely delivered, you are approached by Major Vera, a spider-girl which offers to take you under her wing in the secret police, driving you all the way to her offices in the heart of the city. You decline to her disapproval. Heading back to the train station, Tatyana brings you to the apartment of her friend, Nina, in the outskirts of the city. Nina tells you that she'll bring you contracts, provided she sees a 30% cut of the profit. You agree.

Exploring the area, you are approached by a slime girl, who asks you if you could deal with a bully of hers, an ushi-oni heavy affiliated with the mafia. You accept, bringing Tatana along, you slit the throats of her friends while they sleep in a drunken stupor in the ushi-onis apartment. Peppering the body of the sleeping ushi-oni, Tatyana pierces her heart with a knife, getting covered with blood in the process. Overwhelmed with demonic energy, Tatyana turns on you. No choice but to kill her, you dissolve her body with your venom, loot the corpses of the dead mobsters and take your leave.

Could you post a link to this thread in the old one? I nearly missed it after I thought you crashed man.

And I vote to kill Nina, this entire attempt to get in with the mob has gone disastrously sideways, and Nina is the only one in town who knows of us and our interest in the Ushi-Oni. We must cover our tracks while we still can.
>>
>>166541
alright, linked this thread in the old one, sorry i didn't do that. i'll wait for more replies maybe, if none come ill just go with your suggestion.

We could just put her down with a blade or bullet though, that way it's harder to link the killing to us. Reducing people to acidic puddles of goop is a pretty distinctive method of execution, no?

my two ₪ on this

Disclaimer: I don't speak for other anons

First issue I had, this previous update >>140183
Grocery store closed on Sundays no big deal right? You thought wrong bitch, wasted two updates doing nothing only to be told later that there is a universal store open everyday.
Nigger, you should told us that info on that very same post.
A ">Go to Universal store instead? Y/N" would have saved everyone's time.

Second issue i had was this, this is a big no-no.

>>161655
"Tatyana drops the knife, falling to the floor as she lets out a strangled shout, curling up in a foetal position she lets out a horrific, primal scream. She stands up, preparing to charge you.

Oh dear, it seems that the demonic energy in the ushi-onis blood has corrupted her."

Where's our warning? I thought you said no magic? Apparently no magic doesn't include Demonic Energy/Corruption, oops.
I also Ctrl-F "demonic" on the last thread and found that this is the first post. No warning given whatsoever.
Also corruption is only bad to humans, no adverse effects on monster girls according to the MGE btw. If you are making changes to the established settings do inform us before hand.
Do NOT drop it on us suddenly and expect us to deal. You could just have dropped that info on us when we took that quest and avoid player angst. Just have one of the characters casually drop that info will do. Or include it in >>157806, when you first described the Ushi-Oni.

Also minor nitpicking, you should have made it clear in >>161712 that Corruption was permanent in THIS setting, me having to ask and clarify is just bad form.

Hopefully this helps, Go ask in /qst/ if you want more advice or help on what you did wrong. Hopefully a kind QM will be more helpful than me.

Also, I am honored my pic is being used
>>
>>166684
this was the shit i needed to hear, thank you for that.

My reasoning was that i wanted it to be a surprise to both the PC and the reader that Tatyana goes batshit crazy but i guess i didn't manage that correctly.

in hindsight,
>Oh dear, it seems that the demonic energy in the ushi-onis blood has corrupted her.

was a total mistake, adding in information that shouldnt have been added in. and yeah, that is kind of metagaming.

i agree, i fucked up, and i'll try my best not to do this again.

also about that grocery store thing, was trying to differentiate between "grocery" and "universal" and was hoping someone would ask about that, but i guess i didn;t do a good job of that.

also ye your drawing is sick
>>
>>166477

You don't answer her, your hand slowly shifting to your knife. Nina notices, immediately using her tail and to grip your hand. She grabs your other hand to as you attempt to use it to pull the knife out.

She tells you she doesn't want any trouble, she doesn't know what happened over there, she doesn't care, and she wasn't that close to Tatyana anyway. She states that she doesn't give a single fuck about what you did or did not do, but you aren't staying at her place anymore, and she definitely is not going to provide you with contracts.

What do you say to this?
>>
>>166599
>Kinda slow at this time of night

Probably so, but this is one of the very few quests that runs during the day in GMT, instead of midnight - 5AM.
>>
>>166765
Its not night here nigguh

Anyway heres my thing
Stop struggling drop the weapons
Say " well then it seems I will be leaving"
Thanks for the board i guess. Tatyana got corrupted by the ushi-oni when we went there.
Things went sideways.

Say nothing to no-one or else you might see me again
>>
>>166818
>>166709

For a few very tense moments, you both look at each other. You stop struggling and tell Nina that you want to ask her a few questions. She eyes you warily and motions with her head for you to carry on. She doesn't let go of your hands.

You sigh and clear your throat and ask her what that ushi-oni's place is in the underworld, if anyone will come looking for you and whether she'll rat on you.

She almost looks insulted when she hears your last question.

"No, ok firstly, i'm not a fucking snitch, and fuck you for even having to ask that. As for her position, she was a "vory v zakone", Thief in law, the criminal elites. She worked her way up in one of the gulags, before using one of her connections to get her out. An Avtoritet, or captain, of the Sotasevskya family, one of those most powerful families active currently," She adjusts her grip on your hands before continuing, "Those mobsters she was with was most likely her little group. And no, her death will most likely be attributed to an enemy family, you won't feel the heat. Is that all?"

You tell her it is. You apologise for how things went south back there, sorry for Tatyana and that if anyone comes after you for this, she'll be sorry. She shoves you out of her apartment and slams the door in your face.
>>
>>166910
oh, i wonder why that dude deleted his post... that's weird... anyway all he wanted to do was ask Nina those three questions and leave.

Rubbing your wrists, you walk back to the slime-girls apartment. You yawn and rub your eyes, you're starting to get sleepy. You hope the slime girl doesn't mind being woken up at this time. It takes a few knocks, but she answers, still rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

She breathes sharply upon seeing you, suddenly wide awake. She trips on her words as she invites you in. You explain to her that the job is done, she won't be having anymore trouble from the ushi-oni.

"Oh, i didn't expect it to be done so soon, i suppose you'll uh, be expecting payment?"

You tell her you are.

"Um..." she sifts through her purse and hands out 30 rubles. "I told you i didn't have much, i hope this is enough, but for what it's worth, you have my gratitude... and i guess i did say i would be in your debt?"

Do you accept this?

Yea, Also ask if we can stay the night since we don't have anywhere to stay anymore..

>>

>>166988

You take the money she offers and you decide to call your debt in immediately.

You ask her if she would be willing to let you sleep here, just for one night. You explain that your previous options aren't really options anymore and you don't really have anywhere else to go.

She hesitates answering your question, she looks slightly worried actually. "Um..." She deliberates for quite a while. "I guess you could ... sleep on the couch." She pauses again, looking slightly unsure of what she just said. "The toilet is over there." She points behind you. "First door on the left, please don't go anywhere else."

You smile and thank her, understanding why she wouldn't trust you. She offers you some tea and biscuits again. You accept, on account of not having eaten any dinner. She leaves for what you assume is her bedroom after passing you the food and drink. You hear something heavy move behind her door, the sound stopping as it hits the door. Paranoid little slime girl but you can't blame her.

You finish tea and biscuits and lay down on the couch. What a hectic day, you made a lot of people upset but you push it out of your mind as you drift to sleep.

and that's it for today, thanks for reading!

>>167040

You only pretended to sleep!

You get up off the sofa, careful to keep your footfalls light, you creep around the house. you're almost sure that she's hiding something, she acted so weird around you.

It's a fairly small apartment, with only 2 other rooms aside from the bathroom and her bedroom. One of them is fairly small, it seems she keeps her cleaning materials in here, mops, brooms, washing liquids and the like.

You don't find anything of significance.

The other is more of a study room. Turning on the light you see a desk with a lamp on it, along with some stationary scattered on it. A bookshelf in the corner is fairly empty, holding only a handful of school books. rifling through them you don't see anything out of place.

All in all, it seems her house is pretty bare bones. You guess she was just nervous.
>>
>>167077
Nah she must be the competing mafia family. Check her mail. and then sleep with pistol under your pillow
>>
>>167089

You pick up the mail on her desk and look through them, a few about late payments to the utility companies, and a letter about breast enlargement, why did she keep that? You shake your head and put her letters back down.

You do not find anything suspicious.

You lay back down on the couch, placing a luger under a cushion. As you drift off to sleep, a thought creeps into your head. Why would a captain be bullying a schoolgirl? You ruminate on the thought before falling asleep.
>>
>>167135
A captain and a schoolgirl... hmm maybe the schoolgirl was a cheerleader and failed one of the cheers. The captain got mad and bullied the schoolgirl because they lost the game

You sit up, telling her that it's no problem, but you ask her, before you leave, why a high ranking member of the mafia would go bothering a school girl.

She looks confused, "That's... well i'm not sure, i didn't even know she was a member of the mafia, i just thought she was a bully," she gives you a shrug,"Hey, im going to be late for class, could you go?"

You've spent too much time in this god forsaken city, you need to go back to Katya and Eva. Fuck, where's the civilian train station?

You head back to the city center, hoping you could ask someone there for directions. It seems almost like an entirely different city, by contrast the drab and dreary concrete buildings the dead and dying trees make this place look fantastical. The golden beams of sun as they strike red brick walls, people actually spending time outside instead of huddling in their cramp apartments, trying to avoid being seen. The air smells fresher, the gestalt of it all invigorating.

But you know it's all a facade, beneath it all, a cruel underworld and the secret police, operating without accountability. You really need to get back to Opochka.

You walk around, trying to find someone that looks kind enough to answer your question without hating you for interrupting your day, most of the girls walking around look too busy, or too engrossed in a conversation. You find an elderly cat-girl sitting on a bench, enjoying the morning air. You approach her, asking her where you could board a train back to Opochka.
She looks at you, and answers your question, albeit in a terse manner. You guess she wasn't that keen on being interrupted, but at least you have directions now.

It isn't that far away, you board a bus, arriving at the train station in about 15 minutes. The design is simple but pleasing, concrete painted white, it is fairly long and narrow with a small spire in the middle. You enter, finding a decent amount of people here. You head to the ticketing booth, asking to purchase one ticket to Opochka. Paying the 15 kopeck fee, she tells you it will be around an hour for the train to arrive, she advises that you find a seat. You thank her and follow her advice, sitting on a bench, back to the wall you get comfortable.

Some time passes before you notice some Red Army soldiers enter the train station, they seem to be looking for something, or someone.

You hear the door to the toilet open, before closing again.

>>
>>171248
>>171206

You wait a while longer before peeking out of the toilet, the soldiers are talking to people now, you assume they're asking them if they've seen you
.
The train should be arriving any minute now, glancing at the clock, assuming it arrives on time, it should be 5 more minutes.

You look around for a place that's out of prying eyes, somewhere you can sit and not be seen. You find one, but you can't get there without passing through a large majority of the station. You deliberate on whether you should attempt to get over there when you hear a train in the distance. An announcement over the P.A. system tells everyone that the train bound for Opochka has arrived. The train, slightly rusted in areas where the paint was worn away screeches to a stop.

The doors open and people start getting in.

>>
>>171478
>>171462

You try to shuffle through with the rest of the crowd, trying to blend in. Your stinger is fairly conspicuous but you aren't the only non-girtablilu scorpion girl here today. Though you might be the only one with a hime cut. Your haircut, if nothing else, is extremely unique in the CCCP. You head to the train, head retracted into your shoulders.

You take about two steps before somebody grabs your arm. They whisper very close to your ear to follow them. Taking off their coat they drape it across your shoulder, using the collar to hide your face, taking off their hat as well they fold your hair into a bundle, placing the hat on your head, hiding your distinctive haircut.

You look at her, a fox-girl, the markings on her fur striking. Her grip on your arm tight enough that you can't escape it without making a scene, you have no choice but to walk with her. Calmly and without rush, you board the train. To an outsider it might look like two lovers travelling together. She asks for your ticket, and you hand it to her. telling you to stay behind her, She presents the ticket on your behalf and you board the train without any trouble.

She leads you to the back of the train, sitting down facing each other. She tells you to keep the collar up and the hat on, lest you get recognised.

She tells you that she knows who you are and that you need to listen to her. Her voice low, leaning forward, she speaks slowly.

"I know you declined Major Vera's offer to join the secret police, i do not blame you. But you should know, their orders are to find you and bring you to her, failing that, to find Eva and Katya. They are in very real danger right now, Major Vera is used to getting what she wants and she plans on kidnapping them to force you to do what she wants." She looks over your shoulder, following her line of sight you see that the soldiers have boarded the train and are looking at everybody's face. She continues, "You need to go back and get there before these soldiers do."

She back upright, and smiles at the soldier approaching.

The soldier, mildly surprised, salutes hastily, "Ah, captain, i didn't know you would be joining us today, may i know who your friend is here?"
"She is a shy one, best not to disturb her private, carry on."
The soldier salutes and walks back.

"About that, calling me captain, Major Vera is my direct superior. I do not agree with how she and her superiors handle their power, it troubles me what they do with it. I do not plan on letting them exercise that with you."

You take some time to digest what she just told you, if it's true then things are about to get ugly. You need to make sure Eva and Katya are safe, if anything happens to them, you aren't sure what you'll do. Deeply troubled, you sit in silence for a while before asking her what she has to gain from helping you.

She waves her hand, "Don't worry about that, just know i'm not your enemy."

You get comfortable, using the coat as a blanket you pull it over your face you drift to sleep.

You wake up to your stomach growling. Having only German rations to eat, you have to hide them from view as you consume it. You prefer the Soviet rations, the bread and meat taste weird, but still edible. Your friend looks at you with one eyebrow raised but she doesn't question you.

You realise you don't know her name yet, but she declines to answer when you ask her for it, stating that you don't need to know it. She tells you to go back to sleep, we have a lot to accomplish once we arrive.

You wake up to someone prodding you in the side, it's your mysterious ally. She hurries you to wake up and get on your feet, rushing through the doors as soon as they open.

Heading for the nearest bus stop you tell her that you have a truck at the Town Hall, she looks impressed, stating that not many civilians have an automobile and that she was planning on taking the bus the entire way. You take the bus to the town hall, your adrenaline pumping as the need to see Eva and Katya get's stronger.

Putting the key in the ignition the truck takes a few attempts to start up, the cold soviet air affecting the engine.
Finally the truck roars to life. Before you drive off, the wolf-girl, sitting in the passengers seat takes her coat and hat back. She wears it, hiding her face as well, stating that if she were to be recognise, it would not bode well for her. You straighten your back and take off, driving as fast as you can back to your girls. You don't see any other military vehicles on your way over, they must be taking their time.

You arrive, skidding to a halt on the loose gravel outside the boundaries of the settlement. You open the door and run towards Eva's shack.

Your unnamed friend doesn't follow you, opting instead to stay in the car.

Olga greets you, "Hey! you're back, what's the rush?" You give her a hasty wave as you continue forward. Ludya greets you, asking why you're going so fast. You just ask her if Eva and Katya are ok, she shouts that they are as you run by without stopping.

The door to Eva's shack opens and Katya looks at you, wide eyed with a large smile quickly forming on her face she lets out a squeal of delight, running towards you as fast as her feet will take her. You kneel down to receiver her hug and she almost throws herself at you, holding you like you might disappear again at any moment. You stand up, letting her sit on your arm, her arms around your chest. She tells you how much she missed you. You remind her it's only been one day, she doesn't care. You carry her to the shack as Eva comes out to greet you, welcoming you back she says she'd give you a hug but for some reason she can't use her arms. She tells you Katya is a good girl, very helpful. She nuzzles Katya's head.

You head back into the shack, placing Katya down on the floor.

Anything you wanna do before breaking the news?

You un sling an MP 40 and show it to Eva, her eyes widen in surprise, "How'd you get one?" she asks. You tell her you have your ways, placing it on her bed you tell her it's hers to use and keep. She makes happy noises as she looks the the sub machine-gun, she thanks you as she tries to use her leg to flip it over. Katya does it for her.

You sigh as you prepare to break the news. "Look, I met someone in Tskov who offered me a job at the, uh, secret police." Eva's starting to look a bit concerned now, Katya asks what the secret police is. you shush her as you continue, "I declined naturally, but now she holds a grudge and plans to kidnap the two of you in an attempt to force me to do what she wants. We might have to defend ourselves and this camp against some Red Army soldiers." Eva lets out the beginning of an expletive before stopping herself, she wonders out loud why you have such a propensity for trouble. You give her a half shrug, "Just who i am i guess."

Katya asks you what that means, "What are we going to do to the soldiers? They keep us safe from the enemy don't they, why would they want to kidnap us?" You would answer her but you hear an engine rumbling outside. The engine cuts and you tell Eva and Katya to stay quiet.

Opening the door just enough for you to peer outside, you see the wolf-girl talking to a centaur, they seem to be arguing. Soldiers dismount from the truck, you count 6 in total. They stand in rows of 3's behind the centaur. The argument seems to heat up, involving some hand actions and pointing, the centaur pushes past your ally and motions for her soldiers to enter the camp.

You retract your head and try to think of a plan.
>>
>>171958
Firstly, load up and fix bayonets. Both of them, including the one for our tail (incidentally can we get our venom onto the blade to poison it?). Then get in position to ambush those soldiers. If they're walking in a tight fomation, quietly roll a grenade as close to them as you can and get ready for a melee.
>>
>>171994

You attach a bayonet to your mosin-nagant. Reaching down you use some scraps of cloth on the floor to tie the other to your tail, coating it with a thin layer of venom, careful not to apply too much lest it drips on the floor.

You wonder if you could use a grenade, but you quickly banish the thought from your mind, it would surely cause too much destruction to these ramshackle houses.

Poking your head out you see that all the soldiers are splitting up, opening doors to shacks and looking inside.
There is one that's heading towards you, looking in the shacks on the way. You can't get out without her seeing you.
>>
>>172016
Alright the only hope is picking off as many of these guys one by one quickly and quietly before the fighting starts in earnest. Wait until the soldier is within arms reach and drive a bayonet through her throat and into the base of her spine, preferably from behind to get the drop on her. Then start stealthfully ambushing the soldiers, staying mobile so they can't figure out your location.

And tell Eva to ensure Katya doesn't watch what we're about to do to these poor bitches. Youthful innocence and all of that.

You tell Eva to hide Katya's eyes as best she can. Eva opts to use her tail as a blindfold, Katya seems to understand the gravitas of the situation and doesn't complain.

All is silent, the calm before the proverbial storm. All you hear is your breathing and the blood pounding in your ears as you face the door, bayonet poised.

Faintly to begin with but getting louder with each subsequent house they check, you hear the scraping of metal. The grip on your gun gets tighter in anticipation. The soldier will arrive soon, you hope you don't fuck it up.

The door opens.

The unfortunate soldier is met with a bayonet to the throat, the blade sliding between the vertebra of her neck. Pulling the blade sideways and out, you nearly depacitate her. Dragging her in her head flops to one side, her chin facing the sky. Blood flowing freely, it coats your hands.

Katya wimpers at the sound, but she holds steadfast, Eva looks concerne, forhead furrowed.

You need to move quickly now, to dispatch the others. You leave the bayoneted mosin-nagant behind and take the knife from your belt. You leave the MP 40 behind as well, keeping only the PPD 40 to facilitate easier and quiter movement. Making sure the submachine gun is cocked and ready, you move out.

You dispatch your second victim by ambushing her as she checks a shack, attention focused on what's inside she doesn't notice until you slide the blade into her throat, cutting it the same way you cut the throat of the gang members. You drag her still twitching body to one side, leaving it in the spacings between the shacks. You tell the girls inside not to make a noise.

The second you eliminate in much the same way, blade through the neck followed with a swift outward movement, severing the carotid and jugular arteries along with the windpipe. Don't fix what isn't broken right?

The third was slightly different, having finished checking her row of shacks she walks back. Staying one row beside her, shacks inbetween keeping you out of view. You walk slightly ahead so that when you swing right towards her, you meet with her perfectly. You pull her into the shadows, hand over her mouth to muffle her short lived shouts. Her body relaxes, unconcious, soon to be dead, from the blood loss.

You find the next two walking together. They've finished their checks and are chatting to each other, walking back to the truck. When they reach they're going to find out alot of their comrades are missing.

How do you deal with this pair?
>>

Knife in hand you attempt to get up close, hoping to kill one quickly while capturing and interrogating the other. You have to move very slowly, the gravel would make too much noise otherwise, but they're getting away now. You hope their chatter will cover the sounds of the gravel crunching under your foot as you quicken your pace.

It does not.

One of them looks behind her shoulder and lets out a shout of alarm, her buddy does the same. Abandoning your knife you grab your PPD 40 from your side and prepare to spray them down, but one of them dives to the side. You lose sight of her as she disappears behind the shacks. Her buddy is not so lucky, funmbling with a stripper clip. You doubt they anticipated you being here. You let out a controlled burst in her direction and she drops dead.

In the meantime the other soldier is no where to be found, she isn't behind the shack anymore.

Hearing shouts coming from the trucks you run over to a position where you could observe what's going on.

Your wolf friend has drawn a pistol on the centaur, who seems to be holding a phone attached to a communications system. Most likely tried radioing for support. Your friend in turn has a gun pointed at her by the soldier that escaped.
>>
>>176427
Point the gun at the soldier who escaped.

>>
>>176459
This. We've got us a mexican stand off!
>>
>>176510

You rise up from your position, aiming at the soldier. The shifting of gravel under your boots alerts her to your presence. She's visibly flustered and spins to point her gun at you. She shouts for you not to move.

The wolf-girl uses the distraction to fire her gun, shooting the centaur in the head. Before the soldier can react she falls, her brains on the ground.

Your friend walks over to you, face grim. "You and your people are not safe here anymore. Vera is relentless, failing to get you she'll make sure this little community pays for the loss of her soldiers. Unfortunate it came to this but believe me when i say this is one if the better outcomes. I'll have to go back to Tskov now to report back, i'll find a way to contact you. Try not to die."

And with that she gets in the truck, waves you a good bye and drives off. She never did tell you her name...

Well, how do you go cleaning up this mess and tell the community you just fucked them over? Or maybe you don't?
>>
>>176636
Okay this is getting rediculous. Hiding an elf and hellhound from the cops, that's feasible, but an entire village? How many people are in this camp, 100, 150, maybe 200? What the hell can we possibly do to hide and protect that many individuals from a full on capo in the secret freaking police? Not to mention the only person who just dumped this all on our heads just took off before we could ask her what the fuck we're supposed to do now.
>>
>>176636
Oh fuck.

Give our truck to Ludya (?) (The head nurse)

and lets make a QUICK MOVING
>>
>>176636
This community can get fucked, you already have two dead weights.
Do give an advance warning to the leaders of this little community though. Perhaps they can do something about it.
>>
>>176636
You know at this point I'm starting to think our best option would be to give in and sign up to Vera's operation. She's not going to give up on us, and she's just going to keep hurting people we care about until we've either relented or died. Assuming the fox lass hasn't been lying to us our best chance at either stopping her is inside of her own department, because right now we're running out of options fast.

>>
>>176636

You have to think now, how do you deal with this situation? Evacuating around 200 homeless is going to be nigh on impossible, but you need to think of Katya and Eva, they need to be safe as well. If what she said is true, this camp won't fare well against Red Army soldiers, and Major Vera will most likely send more than 7 troops this time.

This is a hard decision, you deliberate on it on the spot for a long time, weighing the pros and cons of each choice.

In the end what made your mind up was how readily they were to feed you to the wolves when you went to line up for dinner, how they were so eager to see you get beat up.

You head back to Eva and Katya, leaving the bodies of the dead behind. Monster-girls are starting to come out of their shacks now, giving you withering, hateful looks. Somewhere, a scream as they find the bodies, more follow as the bodies are discovered. They start shouting at you, throwing abuse your way, how you've been nothing but bad news ever since you came here. Some start throwing rocks and pebbles, most miss. You don't care, you're going to leave anyway.

You drag the body out of Eva's shack, Katya's eyes still covered by Eva's tail. Eva looks at you uncertainty in her eyes, maybe of the situation, maybe of who you are. She asks you, noticing the blood on your claws and hands, "What happened out there?"

You tell her things didn't go as plan, you say you'll tell her later but there are more pressing issues at hand. Katya doesn't say anything, she just looks scared. She's trying to hide it with a brave front but you can tell.

You tell Eva and Katya that you need to move, that person that tried to recruit you to the secret service sent those soldiers and she's going to send more, and next time they won't be so passive. This place is not safe for us and we need to get the out of here as soon as possible.

Eva looks conflicted, "What about the rest of the people? I've known some of these people my entire life, they helped me when i was a kid, thought me things. We need to help them to."
>>
>>176802
Of course we will help. They will soon be in a better place. The underworld is pretty lonely right now.
>>
>>176802
I vote to get Eva and Katya into hiding somewhere, and then hand ourselves over to Vera's women. This whole exercise has gone terribly wrong, and a lot of innocent bystanders are going to get hurt the longer we try to drag this out. And speaking strictly in character, the kind of work Vera would have us do suits Natalya down to the ground. She has almost no compulsions against killing people, even people she has known as friends or co workers. Hell this quest started when she was kicked out for slaughtering the mercenaries she once worked with, and she put down the first partner she picked up after that without a second thought. Now she's willing to let this entire settlement get razed, fuck the NKVD is MADE of killers like us.

And, if we decide they do need to be stopped, the best place to make a move against Major Vera and her cronies is from within her department. Let's go get ourselves signed up, and I'm saying that as one of the guys who originally voted to turn down her offer.
>>
>>176811
i know, a bit weird a lot of people voted against it. but that is how the cookie crumbles i guess.
>>
>>176817
I can't speak for everyone, but I voted against joining the NKVD because I was on the fence at the time and I thought being a freelancer would be more fun and slightly more exciting. Now though we're being forced deeper underground where just surviving promises to be just as dirty and bloody as working in the secret police. At least that way we wouldn't have the deaths of a bunch of people we agreed to protect on our hands.
>>
>>176824
well, if no one else replies i'll go with your plan!
>>
>>176802
>>176811

You tell Eva you plan to hand yourself over, willing to join the secret police to stop this blood shed. Eva looks worried, "Are you sure that lady is going to let you in after you killed 7 of her soldiers?"
>>

>>176884
'Probably, from what I hear once she sets her mind on something she will not stop until she has it. As long as I am beyond her reach she is perfectly willing to go through anyone I've associated with to force me out, and it's working. I'm sorry for bringing this upon you and the people here, but until I can sort things out from within her command I want you and Katya to go into hiding at least until you can confirm nobody is trailing you.'

She can't drive our jacked van at the moment so give her a lift to that house we met Katya in and give 600 rubles and most of our weapons (keep the luger, a bayonet, and one of the MP-40s) and tell her we will try to rendezvous with her in the munitions factory in one month's time. Also recommend she keep that van hidden and not fully on the property she's squatting on unless she's using it, we never figured out who was behind that butchery operation. Then give her and Katya one last hug goodbye and take our cart back to the camp to face the soldiers when they arrive.

>>176889
Yeah, not saying you should ignore write ins, but prompts do have their uses. They're a useful way of letting us know what the character might do in the situation given knowledge and information we don't know.
>>
>>176914

>>
>>176884

You tell Eva of Major Vera and her tenacity. You don't really have any other options, it's either you hand yourself over or the camp gets razed to the ground. The easiest way to go about this is to simply give in, You don't doubt that she would follow you to the depths of hell to get you, going through everyone you care about on the way. You apologise for bringing her and Katya into this mess, but you promise to sort things out. In the meantime, you tell Katya and Eva that you're going to take themto the house where you found Katya, to hide out while you're gone.

Katya looks at you, her face sadder than her age should allow for, "I don't want you to leave again."

You rub Katya's small head, "It's going to be ok, I'm going to leave you some guns just in case and some rubles. I'll leave the van with you as well, for Eva to use when her arms get better." Katya hugs your waist, tears forming in her eyes,
"I don't want you to go." Her voice is muffled against your shirt.
"Don't worry Katya, I'll be back, it might take some time that's all." Two patched on your shirt a shade darker, wet from her tears.
Eva looks on silently, her face a mixture of sadness and concern.
"Come on," you prompt them to move, "We should get going."

You take the trolley and load it onto the truck and get in. Katya sits on Eva's lap. You drive in silence, the sound of rubber against asphalt all there is.

You arrive at the house, showing Eva the way to get in via the broken window. You unsling your weapons and untie the knife from your stinger, only keeping the luger, a bayonet and an MP 40. Taking out the respective magazines for the guns left behind you proceed to put 600 rubles onto the table, using the revolver to hold it down. You do this with a sort of finality, Eva and Katya looking silently on, the thuds of the guns as they hit the table somehow louder than they should have been, the clatter of magazines sharper than normal.

Once you finish you face the only two girls in the world that care about you. Katya tries not to cry but tears inevitably leak from her eyes. Eva bends down and asks Katya to remove her locket from her neck and to pass it to you. You take it from Katya. Eva asks you to open and you do. The blue hair that was inside now gone, replaced by fur pitch black.

"Yeah, I asked Katya to do it while you were in Tskov in case you needed to leave for an extended period of time again. I just didn't anticipate that it would be so soon."

Now you're crying to, you give Eva the best hug you can while avoiding touching her elbows. She kisses you on the cheek, "You better bring that back, i won't forgive you if you don't."

You step back, wiping your tears away you place the locket in one of your pockets and button it up. You give Katya and Eva another hug before Eva tells you to get going, "We'll be fine for now, but you better come back."

not good at writing sad scenes, hope i conveyed the feelings properly
>>
>>176979

You drive the truck behind the munitions factory, the faint smell of blood and viscera still lingers. Taking the trolley out you use it to head back to camp, you hear Katya yell out a final goodbye as you pass her. You try to reply but can't, choking back tears instead. The ride back is a glum one, various emotions bubbling up from your chest, Some from the previous days, others from just now.

You try to hold it back but you can't, you think of how fucked things got and you just can't, tears flowing freely from your face you can't help thinking that you won't see those two wonderful, caring girls, the only good things in your life.

The only thing worth fighting for.

You rally around that one thought, misery turning to resolution, determination to return.

You are heading back to camp to face your demons. You are doing it for them.

You arrive back in camp, Olga seems to have started to pull to bodies out, piling them in a corner. Ludya stops you as you try to enter the camp, "I'm not sure i should let you back in. I appreciated you bringing Eva back but these soldiers lying dead in my camp," She shakes her head, "There are children here and i can't in good conscience allow you to stay here if it means they get exposed to these sorts of things." She pauses, frowning suddenly. "Where are Eva and Katya?"

You explain to her the situation. You tell her that there are more soldiers on the way and they won't be so kind as to simply look into houses when they come. You explain to her before she can interrupt you that you plan on handing yourself over to the soldiers, no blood will be shed, everything will go peacefully. You also tell her that Eva and Katya safe, both in hiding until this gets resolved.

She looks horrified at the last part, "You sent someone with two unusable arms and a child to live together‽ How careless, just plain stupid are you? I need to see them, they can't survive like that. Eva needs my help and Katya's a child for god sake"
