Two actions for the Snakin this turn
Tech: Research flaming arrows for use in Crossbows and Ballistae, with the ballista variant being a loose bundle of arrows designed to spread out like a shotgun when fired, won't be able to pierce walls but can ignite sails and wood, or disperse groups of enemies.
Action: Colonize that tiny piece of green land at the northwest point of continent, it's annoying me.
>>
>>176955
Cool, i'll check in every 30mins or so until senpai is back, let me know what you think of my turn proposals.

We're still close allies with the water trolls, and our army and infant navy are pretty much theirs at the moment, though they do have a bit of a penchant for genocide.
>>
>>176936
So we are rekted by legion?
That was bg.
>>
>>176984

>>
I think we can stop attacking the rats
They is gone ( as far as we know)
>>
New Troll Turn:
Tech: Carpentry
Tech: Stone Masonry
>>
I supposed my search for ores below newhaven failed. I would like to search for ores and other minerals again. Second time around I will be mining deeper continuing off last turn.
Action: Mine for minerals and ore like last turn.
Tech: Make ores from my heavy metal. I will name it Tensen.

Copied from last thread.
>>
Send a ship to the southern island.
Extract fibers out of plant matter.
>>
Okay people im almost home :) should i start this thread with a special event?

a water troll scout from trinston saw around 400 humanoid gator warriors land on the beach at the former water troll base, they are around same height as a snakin but look way stronger and angrier they have way to small legs for their body and they fight with big knifes and swords... they are looking for loot and fights
WHAT will you do?? they are heading for the closes troll region btw
>>
>>177614
Send as much cavalry as we can, armed with crossbows or longbows to intercept them and negotiate, tell them we might be sister races, and that the Snakin are allied with the trolls and that our armies outnumber theirs, ask them to swear allegiance or non-violence pacts.

If things turn south cavalry archers should have no problem outrunning and kiting the stumpy legged warriors.
>>

>>
>>177659
They're closer to my settlements than the trolls, and my soldiers are mounted, I'll get there first and Snakin won't take kindly to you massacring what might be their Kin.

okay are the radishes online or should i start this 'fight' (i don't think the radishes will do anything since they arnt that strong)

>>177681
Yea lets start. They don't even have metal weapons
>>
PART I
okay, so the trinston army arrived first at the beach, they waited for nightfall to come and kidnaped around 6 gators, they brought them back home and they gave them lots of food a nice bed and entertainment, in the morning the snankins arrived and tried to talk to the gators but while they were walking over to them they got attacked by some of them, 12 snakins didn't survive but the rest retreated... after some hours the water trolls arrived and together they killed a bunch of them ( -13 trolls and -9 snakins) alot of them fled into the sea and beyond (also the water trolls ate some of them in front of the others pretty fucked up shit)
they will probably come back so what will you do?
>>
i support the snakin approach. I send half of my swift ostrich archers to help them. If a battles occurs I will provide long range support and distraction. The gators are no match for my speed.
>>
>>177711
GET THE BOATS, CROSSBOWS and SPEARS ITS GENOCIDE TIME
>>
>>
Seems I arrived late. Is there any scraps my ostrich archers can bring back? Possibly their swords and knives?
>>
>>177728
>>177718
yeah sure you just arrived at the same time as the snakins i guess ( you did lose 6 fighters )
>>
>>177711
Do our actions from before the gators arrived still happen?>>176958

Also, are all these gators male warriors? Does that mean they have a larger base elsewhere?
>>
As part of this war I will bring back the bodies of my radishes to bury and be with their families. If they left ostriches we bring them back. Whatever weaponry we manage to collect we bring back to our scientists to study.
>>
>>177739
yeah the action will happen after this event and the gators may or may not have a larger base somewhere

I join the Snakins.

Because of their loss in battle, they need to develop martial arts, most likely based on cat movements.
>>
>>177776
Alright, i'll just do one more action then, don't want to push the success chance down too low

Move the navy over to the open waters west of our newest city to hunt down the fleeing gators and stand guard from further raids.

>>
>>177822
so what about
Culture:True followers of the Masked one spend the last days for their lives on a religious exploration to find the lands as described in the Holy books
Action: sail to the small island south west of the western town (The two sector one and not the one that looks like a boot)

Agree with Rad radish. Can have the turn to himself since I've had most of them while they were away.
>>
okay so trinston sent those captured gators back and they came back with around 30 gators, they now start to learn the language and we start to learn their language and technics
>>
Action: mine for coal
Tech; using our improved masonry and carpentry we upgrade our insulae to be grand and not clay horrible things
>>
>>177872
What type of weaponry and armour is trinston packing?
>>
>>177887
oh thats kinda complicated... you basically have different kind of soldiers with different types of armors but these were the scouts which got leathery armor and 2 small swords
then you got the basic knight with a shield a axe/sword and leather with iron armor and you got the archer they wear leather armor and do archery stuff
>>
>>177829
I'll do what >>177787 says.

Train the most nimble and quick fighters in a new form of combat, taking inspiration from the movements of our holy felines, based around disarming opponents, evading their attacks etc. We'll name this Martial arts.

Also, let our tropical fruits rot and ferment, to make alcohol, I think this will raise happiness, trade better, and maybe we can later use it for Molotov cocktails and the like.
>>
>>177842
We have worse armour than anyone else I think, but better defenses, boats and siege weapons.

I'm planning on colonizing most of the smaller islands once the navy is large enough and getting sea superiority, but that's not set in stone, anything goes really.
>>
>>177842
>>177909
Oh I think we might have more cavalry than anyone else, but that's just a guess with no headcounts beyond total pop number.
>>
>>177899

Why not Cat Boxing?

Plus the Snakins martial arts is not only use for military but also as combat sport. The snakins with greatest martial art skills become either famous or sees as heroes.

Tech: Using coal and iron we create steel.
Action: Using stone masonry we build roads in the cities and connect the cities with roads
>>
>>177984

True, even since the ancient Egypt they do actually develop martial arts but they don't bother naming their fighting style like in the East.

>>180561

Cool!

By the way can't we build a schools/temples for basic knowledges and obligatory basic martial trainings?
>>
>>180849
Oh that's a point, nobody has any education yet I think, for this turn I think we'll build schools in our towns and cities to share knowledge and train, and search our lands for metal ores to mine.

>>
Action: Send a group of scholars to learn and buy/copy books from Trinston.
Tech:Make Sickle Swords from the pink ore which will be better for farming as well as fighting. (Copper right)?
Research: My builders insist that building out of stone and wood will make sturdier homes. Crafters have learned to cut stone into large bricks thanks to the Tensen ore tools.

Rat bros, how are we doing?

Ok I got a strange idea...

Why can't Snakins have arrowheads and knife-spearheads as currency?

Even in peace time they can use it as tools, for hunting or survival.

Not good.

>>
>>181997
Alphabets/language, math, basket weaving, mycology

wood, copper ore, glass ore, iron ore, plant fibers, mushrooms, corn, chicken-like birds.

large sailless boats, paddle boats, small boats, glass armor, iron drill spears, iron digging claws, bolas

metal tunnel gates, bunkers, bunker window shutters, schools, wooden support beams, chicken coops, forge, shipyards

Some of them we probably don't have anymore.
>>
>>182054
Oh and giant crabs. Not tamed. Just being hunted down.

>>
>>182094
It's your funeral I guess
>>
>>182111
Yeah why not
>>
>>181956
That's a good idea, bows and crossbows are already very widespread, and we won't be at risk of running out of ammunition if we can use currency in an emergency - I also wanted to start mining and smelting ore in the north upgrade our armour and weapons. How does this look:

Action: Search near every snakin town and city for ore deposits, construct mines and smithies where it's found and begin mining.
Culture: Produce and distribute a new form of currency - Small metal bolts of various sizes shaped to points, that can be used as ammunition in emergencies.
>>
>>182341

Fucking Window...! Upgraded itself...

Yeah we real need to find ore mines for Snakins development.

Let do this action.
>>
>>182157
Yes, it would've been.
>>182116
OP needs radish turn
>>
Action: Send scholars to observe and record the Water Trolls journey and battles against the gnolls.
Action: Build a crafters/builders guild where there can work and research in my capitol.
Action: Build a great library to store books and scrolls for my citizens in the capitol.

okay so trinston got inspired by the new guild being made and decided to make 3 of them there selfs:
1. the crafter guild
this covers anything from smithing, farming, woodworking, masonry, construction etc
2. the fighters guild
hunters, fishers, warriors archers etc
3. academics guild
biology, chemistry, history etc

these 3 guilds each got a own building:
the crafter guild got a giant stone building with multiple forgers working tables and other things
the fighters guild got a big building on the grass field west of the city with a training room, archer field and other things
the academics guild got a big library with a college connected to it were anyone can study things like math and chemistry

>>
Ok I suggest this action for Snakins.

Action 1: Build city on newly acquired region.
Action 2: >>185572 Check the news of unexplored island that is marked with blue cross.
Tech: Build labs for alchemy and medicine.
>>
Action: Send my top scholars, craftsmen, and warriors to study and train at the Trinston Guilds. Bringing back knowledge for my central library. (my library's contents are exclusive to my own unlike Tribstons)
Action: Harvest the colorful feathers from my ostrich birds to boil and try to makes dyes.
>>
>>186480

Action: Create maritime/sailors guild where Rats can train sailors (in navigation, fighting on sea etc.) and research new navy technologies.

Tech: Create submarines or some other nice ships (upgrade our Naval tech, and create new kind of ships)

Culture: (some bonus to navy?)
>>

>>186482

Action: Complete colonizing our nortwestern region and begin farming snails.
Culture: Construct hospitals etc in every town and city, add basic medical training to our schools.
Action/Culture: Send a sizeable envoy to the monkey tribe, try to begin trading our exotic goods, fruits and meats, and just impress them in general.
I don't want anything specific from the monkeys in return - though a pact or alliance would be nice - I just want to be on friendly terms with as many of the races as possible.

If you guys are planning on making submarines, with the current resources and tech that we have, that thing will be made entirely out of wood, plant fiber strings and baskets weaves. Plus with no access to glass (we haven't discovered legit glass yet and i don't think we can use green metal ore as a glass substitute which I don't think we still have.) our gnolls submariners would be piloting it blind underwater. There's the problem with propulsion. As of now gnolls only know how to make paddles which I don't think works well underwater. In order for us to make it move decently we'll have to research handcranked propellers and we'll be needing a bunch of gnolls to spin it. We'll also need to figure out how its ballast tanks work. Without it our subs won't sink or rise underwater and will basically just be enclosed boats.

I know this sounds like we're making a crude submarine irl but we'll need to explain to op how our submarine works to convince him that it's possible or else op will call bullshit on your plan and make it fail or outright ignore it.
>>
Also our lack of access to fabric of some kind is a bit worrisome to me. I propose that we should make premative looms and use the plant fibers that we have to make ropes, sails, musical instruments and scrolls. Maybe even some decent clothes, flags, carpets and banners if you're feeling fancy. Not as good (or as comfortable) as cotton or fur but this will have to do for now until then.
>>
>>188306

Action: I would like to explore the second half of the island I already landed on. I plan on establishing a town there once im able.

Sounds cool, I've been thinking about making some kind of caste system, or maybe guilds/houses like some other races have started.

We could have say, The house of water dedicated to Ships and naval combat, House of stone for craftsmen, House of fire for production of siege weapons, armour and other steel goods. With more tattoos being added once a snakin finishes their training.

I also want to make two new sets of armour for distribution at some point, one heavy using our new steel for unmounted warriors and crossbowmen, one light, made from pink iron and leather for our cavalry and martial artists, let's call them Monks. I also want to make powerful steel fist weapons for our Monks too like pic, but all this is just concepts at the moment, I think we should capture an island or two first.
>>
>>189545

See you tomorrow

>>189583

I prefer more of Guild/House system than caste system. We should let citizen decide on their professions (with help of career advisors) rather than forcing them.

I can agreed for armour distribution. For fist weapons I had similar idea too but it is more of a shields with claws.

And yes we should focus on capturing the island first.

radish:
the radishes explored the region south of the region south of newhaven... it is sub tropical and has small mountains, it is kinda dry
they also made looms for weaving and asked around for bitter flowers and colorful frogs and with success! they got some very bitter mountain flowers from trinston

snakins:

I've been lurking since the beginning so felt I may make a point. Wouldn't gnolls be worried about going back to the mainland? From what I remember there was no official peace made so it wouldn't be unreasonable to think trolls would just attack them on sight or demand radish to hand them over
>>
>>196517
They could also sneak back onto the mainland in secret while the trolls look for them in the islands. They do live underground. Or used to.

We haven't revealed the location of our populated islands to them yet. The radish nation only knows of only one territory and that one is unpopulated. Even if a travelling troll spots a gnoll while visiting the radish nation they'd probably just assume that they are either from Trinston or slaves bought from the slave market.
