Hello one and all, and welcome to Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Quest. A quest inspired by the incredibly weeaboo series Dangan Ronpa. You like killing games like Battle Royale? You like Murder Mysteries? You just might enjoy this quest! (I make no guarantees though.) This quest is set at the prestigious Yggdrasil Academy International, where a mysterious set of circumstances unfold.

Yggdrasil Academy is a prestigious boarding school catering to a specific set of secondary school students gathered from four countries: The United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and the United States. There are two main entry requirements for this academy. One, students must already be attending secondary school, and be at least 16 years of age. Two, students must be the absolute best at a specific talent out of the combined student body of the four countries listed above. There is no way to apply to Yggdrasil Academy. The only way in is for the school itself to scout you. Because all students attending the academy have something they specifically are the absolute best at, they are referred to by a specific title.

Omegas.

As they're the complete end-point when it comes to students in pursuit of that talent, it's only fitting to call these end-points of talent Omegas. After all, there's no surpassing an Omega.

Our Protagonist, Zachary Lineman, is the Omega Actor. After having been granted access to the first floor, Zachary managed to get Monokuma's permission to put on a play. To that end, he retired to his room for the day to rewrite the script of one of his favorite plays from memory alone.

DAY 5: END

DAY 6: BEGIN

It seems you dozed off at your desk, penning the final copy of your masterpiece of a script. Checking the clock on your wall you notice that it's 8 AM. You're late for breakfast! You shower and dress in a matter of mere minutes and charge out the door. When you arrive at the dining hall, there's no one there. Of course, that makes sense. After all, the others met up for breakfast an hour ago. They're probably somewhere around here. Of course, you haven't eaten yet...

>What do you do?
>>
>>197071
Grab an apple, do a little monologue of being late and look for your friends.
>>
>>197071
Eat some pop tarts
>>
>>197084
>>197129
You head into the kitchen, heat up some pop tarts, grab an apple, and head out. You eat your breakfast while on the move. Searching the whole school, you check first floor first, but it's as deserted as the dining hall. While you're looking, you deliver a rousing monologue of the woes of being late. No one was in the courtyard or reception, and you came from the dorms, so... You head to the gym. When you get there, you hear sounds of battle! Yelling and the clash of metal on wood. Clearly there is something happening on the other side of the door!

>What do you do?
>>
>>197181
Quietly sneak your head in.
>>
>>197181
Sneak in to see what's happening.
>>
Sweet, I finally made it to one of these roughly on time.
>>197181
Investigate.
>>
>>197196
>>197201
>>197228
You quietly sneak in, making sure to make no noise while opening the door. When you look, you can scarcely believe your eyes. The students are gathered around a large wooden platform, cheering on... Juliet and Cassandra? They're dueling on the platform, using broom handles to attack each other. Each thrust from Juliet is met by a deflection and counter-swipe, and every wild slash from Cassandra is met by a solid block. It looks like they're evenly matched. Juliet feints high and then swings her broom handle low, aiming for the side of Cassandra's knee. But Cassandra leaps into the air, dodging the sweep. Juliet sees her chance and whips the handle up to collide with her opponent in midair, but Cassandra manages to maneuver the broom handle to block it. She lands and darts backwards, creating a space between her and Juliet. There is a lull in the fighting.

>What do you do?
>>
>>197261
Join the crowd.
>>
>>197261
Watch. Shit, we should've done one of King Arthur's tales.
>>
>>197261
"Already practicing for a fight scene? You two are taking this pretty seriously!"
>>
>>197261
Cheer on Juliet.
>>
>>197278
>>197279
>>197283
>>197286
You close the door behind you, and head on over to the others. You simply stand next to Lucas and watch the spectacle unfold. Broom handle meets broom handle as the two combatants whirl and swing their weapons. There is a series of audible "thock" sounds. There's really no explanation for why any of them are this good, but it's one hell of a show as Juliet dodges Cassandra's lightning fast attacks. You notice that she's been pushed to the edge of the platform by the relentless onslaught, and yell out. "C'mon Juliet, push back!"

Hearing this, Juliet slams her foot down and blocks Cassandra's broom handle swing with her hand gripping onto it. Cassandra tugs at it, but it's too late. Juliet brings her own broom handle and slices it down towards Cassandra's head. Cassandra tries to imitate Juliet and grab it with her hand, but she mistimes it, and the handle strikes her in the arm. The two drop their sticks and collapse onto the stage, which you now realize is what Georgina promised to build yesterday. Wow, she's already finished!

>What do you do?
>>
>>197330
Applaud, congratulate them both on their performance. And express our gratitude for Georgina's speedy construction.
>>
>>197330
If they're finish with the duel than congrats them both.
>>
>>197330
Applause.
>>
>>197351
>>197352
>>197379
You applaud wildly with the others. "That was an amazing performance, you two!"

Cassandra and Juliet both turn their heads to look at you in shock. It seems they hadn't noticed you until just now. Cassandra pulls her cap over her face and Juliet salutes you. The two hop down off of the stage, and you turn to Georgina. "This was done really quickly! Thanks Georgina!"

She curtsies and beams at you. "It was a routine job, really! It was a lot of fun to do, too! So how's the play script?"

"Oh, I've got it here. There's a script for each major part."

"Who has which part?"

"I was thinking we'd hold auditions. Whaddya say?"

Everyone nods their agreement, and the auditions begin.

SEVERAL AGONIZING HOURS LATER

If you have to sit through one more fumbled audition, you're going to strangle yourself. Hardly any of these people have any talent at all! The guys at least. The girls put on a decent showing for the lead female role, Roxane. Juliet was a bit stiff, Cassandra was too quiet, Becky tended to stumble over her words, Alice occasionally mixed up her lines and Rosalina delivered hers too fast, but Georgina gave an excellent performance. But at least there was a clear choice for that. None of the other guys has any talent whatsoever, and their performances are a disgrace to the art! It almost hurts to watch them stumble over their lines again and again and again. You decide to take a break to rest your eyes and mind. But while you're resting, Lucas and Alice frogmarch Neville over to you. He looks like he clearly does not want to be here.

>What do you do?
>>
>>197425
"What do you guys need?" in a cool and chillax way.
>>
>>197425
"Something I can help you with?"
>>
>>197433
>>197440
'You guys need something?"

Lucas grins at you. "We were looking over the roles and we saw the villain role. Count De Guiche, right?"

"What about it?"

Alice wears the same cheshire cat grin as Lucas. "Well we thought Neville would be perfect for it! C'mon, give him an audition!"

Neville looks at you with an expression that just screams "please save me from these maniacs."

>What do you do?
>>
>>197462
It won't hurt to let him have an audition.
>>
>>197462
Tell him to at least try.
>>
>>197474
>>197478
"Alright. Give it a try, Neville. It can't hurt."

Lucas and Alice release him, and Neville heads towards the stage. You give him his script and watch his performance. It's much better than the performance he gave for the role of Christian. He's got the perfect villainous tone down, with just that teensy bit of menace in his voice. You're not really sure how much of it is acting. Another shoo-in, you'd say! But even with Count De Guiche covered, there still remains the part of Christian, and none of the auditions for it were passable. As you sit and think over this, Cassandra walks up to you. "Let me audition for Christian."

>What do you do?
>>
>>197508
Shrug and let her.
>>
>>197508
Might as well.
>>
>>197517
>>197520
You shrug your shoulders, hand her the script, and send her up to the stage. She steps up and begins her performance. She's much better as Christian than as Roxanne. As she bemoans her inability to woo Roxane, you see that she's got talent aplenty. She'll work for the role. With that, all the main character roles are done, and you assign secondary character roles to the others. With that, you all head back to the dining hall for a late lunch. You sit on one of the benches and eat a particularly delicious bacon sandwich. Everyone else heads off to do their own thing, and hopefully memorize their scripts.

This is a period of Free Time. You can choose to just rest up in your room for a while, or choose to spend the time with another student in the class. Depending on how well you get along with your fellow students, you may find out more about them, or learn new skills.

Steven. See how he's doing.
>>
>>197555
I would say Juliet but I like to see Steven.
>>
>>197562
>>197580
You go find Steven, who's hanging out in a classroom on the first floor. "Heya Zach, what's up?"

The two of you chill out and shoot the breeze for a while. Eventually, he asks you a question. "Hey Zach, you think if we gave Juliet and Cassandra those broomstick handles and pointed them at Monokuma, we could get rid of him?"

How do you respond?
>>
>>197649
"Hmph, while I don't think Monokuma is all that, I doubt he would go down that easy. He would most likely punish everyone and I don't want to know how."
>>
>>197649
"Who knows? Thing could be a robot for all we know, and if so, there's probably more than one. It certainly sounds like fun but it's just a bit too risky."
>>
>>197649
"We'd probably just piss him off. Rule five does say violence against him is prohibited, and who knows what he might do."
>>
>>197649
It would definitely be a sight to behold, if it weren't for the rules forbidding violence against him.

DAY 7: BEGIN

You get out of bed, and complete your morning ritual of washing and dressing. You head to the dining hall and chow down on some breakfast. Everyone's still hanging around, checking their scripts. You've got plenty of free time this morning.

Georgina is in the Gym, practicing her lines. "Hi Zachary! Do you think you could coach me? Acting is really fun, but I wanna get better at it so I can put on a really good performance!"

You spend the morning coaching her on her acting skills, helping her to emote better. At the end, just before lunch, she asks you a question. "Hey Zach, I like Carpentry because I can make people happy with it, and Acting's fun for the same reason. Why do you like Acting?"

How do you respond?

Don't forget to check the laptop before the next killing.

"That's pretty inspiring! I got into Carpentry for a really silly reason, actually. Maybe I'll tell you about it later! Anyway, let's go and have lunch!"

The two of you head to the dining hall and have some lunch. Once you're done, you head off once more.

How do you wish to spend your Free Time?

(By the way guys, you get something special for getting to the end of someone's Free Time events.)

You'll have to check in on that one of these days. Maybe tomorrow night.

Julie, I think we are almost at the end of her events.

Juliet, having taken charge of handling the lighting, is in the Gym fiddling with the setup. "Ah, Lt. Lineman. I understand that you have more expertise in this area than me. Would you care to show me the ropes?"

You spend most of the afternoon showing Juliet how to operate the lighting system for maximum effect. "Say Lt. Lineman. About what happened to Pvt. Huxley and Pvt. Holt... Do you think I could have prevented it?"
>>
>>198037
I"If they were not in that situation that night, Iwoulud have given every one a speech about how flimsy the motive was. Even though the motive wasn't used."

say Captain, you have a siblings?
>>
>>198037
"No, sir.! None of us could have foreseen that would happen. People are tricky living things. One can't really understand why people do terrible things."
>>
>>198037
"Sometimes things just happen. There's no way any of us could've known what was going to happen that night. It's not your fault; you're an excellent leader and a masterful strategist, but there will always be someone who deviates from the plan, no matter how solid it is. Nobody can have total control, after all. Just keep doing your best, and stop blaming yourself."

"You're right of course. No plan survives first contact with the enemy. I just wish I'd been able to figure out Monokuma's plan with that motive. I feel responsible for those under my command, and getting out of this situation with no casualties was my goal. Yes, I do have siblings. An older sister and a younger brother. But I cannot let that compromise the mission. They'll understand."

The two of you head back to the dining hall for dinner, then you head to bed.

DAY 7: END

DAY 8: BEGIN

You wake up on the first day of your second week here. You dress, head to the dining hall, grab some cereal, and slam down a glass of juice.

You have some Free Time this morning.

Juliet has taken a break from the play, and is running through tactical simulations with her maps and figurines. "Ah, Lt. Lineman! Would you care to join me? It's even better to try out tactics against a live opponent."

You spend the morning running tactical simulations with Juliet, trying to outmaneuver her. She trounces you every time. "Lt. Lineman... Imagine you're in a situation like this, with someone trying to turn you against your comrades. You don't know who to trust, except for one person, who's always been with you, through thick and thin. But then you find evidence that they're not on your side, they're working with the enemy. What do you do?"

Juliet packs up and walks off, a sad smile on her face.

You eat lunch, but Juliet isn't anywhere in the dining hall. You shrug it off and head to your dorm. It's time to crack that laptop.

That's all for this session folks, but tune in next time!
