>Welcome to Sin Princess Quest! A story of monsters, magical girls, and warring kingdoms!
>Previous Threads, Mechanics, and the Twitter are here!
http://pastebin.com/MVQpS9bh
>Rolls are typically D20’s, best of three, barring critical failures and successes!
>Voting lasts until the 10 minute mark of the called vote!

Before we get into the meat of todays thread (and before I apologize for being so fucking inconsistent) I wanted to propose a change of mechanics. Currently, critical successes and failures generate advantages and disadvantages. However, after some thought, I wanted to see if you all would approve of a change, namely, spending critical successes and disadvantages, as they are earned, to remove either a different advantage or disadvantage as another option, as opposed to simply gaining a new adv/dis.

Thoughts?

If you'd prefer, we can keep the old system and save the discussion for after this thread is done.
>>
>>205747
If I'm being unclear, I mean to say that rolling a critical success could, by majority rule, either earn you a new advantage or remove a disadvantage and vice versa for critical failures.
>>
>>205747
Sure. I'd be down for that.
>>
>>205798
And if I did it, which depends on there being more than just the two of us in this thread, should we wipe the slate clean with non-Harvest gained advantages and hold a vote for what is kept and removed or just carry on from here?
>>
>>205814
I'd say clean slate, that only plot related fuck ups or wins should confer ad or disads
>>
>>205814
Sure.
>>
As it stands, these are the current Adv/Dis

- Cruel Imagination! When creating weapons, your mind is able to decide quickly and in greater detail! You gain a +2 to weapon creation when using your Vice Gem.
- Spear And Destiny! You favor a long reach and a hampered opponent! Attacks made using a spear against a debilitated enemy gain a +2 to success!
- Heart of the Beast! Your natural, base cunning and monstrous parts have given your some insight into communicating with animals! On a High Success result when communicating with animals, you may command them to do one thing of their own free will.
- By the Horns! With a minotaur's horns grafted to your head, you become a deadly foe in head-to-head combat! Gain ability Charge and earn a +2 to combat dice when doing so!
- Long Arm of the Lady! Your skill at conjuring weapons, specifically spears, allows you to create a spear without a roll! It will only last for one hit and takes a round to recreate, at the cost of 5 Envy.

Disadvantages?
-Not So Surprise Party! You are... not particularly subtle when launching a surprise attack. You just get so swept up in the moment that you struggle to not vocalize your excitement! You now suffer a -2 when launching a surprise attack!
-Rattletail! So much for being a useful second head! Your snaketail enjoys creeping around prey so much that it lets out a hissing little laugh if you aren't careful to keep it quiet! You now suffer a -2 to stealth.

-?

Aside from By The Horns, which was taken from the minotaur, would you give up any advantages to negate the three disadvantages you have earned?

And it's three because of the 1's that were rolled at the end of the last thread.
>>
>>205872
long arm
Spear
Heart
to erase all disads
>>
>>205907
I'll agree with this.
>>
>>205872
Onii-chan, notice me!

Hmm... I feel like keeping the disadvantages, honestly.

I didn't miss it, yeah!
>>
>>205907
>>205933
So... is this system alright?
Like, officially and stuff?
So, losing three advantages to remove your disadvantages, which, I'll reiterate, using the Harvester will not do.

>>205945
Get noticed, you bothersome little insect
>>
>>205964
Honestly not a fan of the advantage disadvantage system, but I guess. IMO advantages should be earned via lots of training , harvester, and plot related reasons, and Disadvantages should be earned via plot, Wounds, and the like.
>>
>>205982
Yet another result of running a quest for the first time, mechanical instability

Agh, sorry for letting those of you who still take part down, I'll try to do better!
>>
So, with that settled, I'll alter the pastebin and we can ACTUALLY get the quest going!

>Critical Failure!

You leap, spear in hand, with a mighty warcry howling from your throat. Whatever beast was lurking before you would surely fall before your mi-!
Oh.
You barely see your prey move before a blinding pain blossoms across your vision, a vice-like grip encircling your throat as you slam into the misty forest floor. Vision swimming, you struggle to raise your spear to force them off before another unseen hand pins your hand down.
The armor around your throat hold, for now, sparking and hissing with electric green Vice energy.
The snarling form straddling over you leans in close, so close that you can smell the blood on their teeth. But this display finally puts a face to your prey-turned-assailant.
It's... a wolfgirl?
Your eyes widen in surprise, but the drain on your gem reminds you that, humanoid or not, she was still a monster trying to kill you.

But what do you do now?

>Dissipate your weapon and claim you meant now harm? She might back off if you're earnest enough...

Moving carefully, you leave your hands at your side, being careful not to look like you're outright challenging her.
You only have a small idea of how to handle beasts, but as you see her begin to visibly relax, you think you're getting the hang of it.
Maybe.

Clearing your throat, you try speaking in a low, hopefully comforting tone.

"You're a very strong one, aren't you?"

No response.

"Ahem, yes, well, I think I've proven that you can't just fight me. But if you come with me, I can take you to a place where you could fight things almost as strong as I am. To hunt new, powerful prey... You'd like that, wouldn't you~?"

Again, no resp-wait...

The she-beast stalks closer, rising up off of all fours to a low, hunched stance, stalking closer.

Is she...

As she comes within an arms reach, you realize the true difference in your heights, leaving you a good head or so taller than her.
Reaching out as slowly as you dare, you offer her a limp hand that she sniffs cautiously.
My, how cute...

> High Success!

Your 'day' (for a given value, what with the distinct lack of time-keeping heavenly bodies) has taken a turn you did not quite expect.

You stand before a feral wolf-girl, the both of you a little bloodied after an initial scrap, and she's... not attacking.

In fact, while she appears to be just as cautious as you are about the uneasy truce, she's not trying to run from you or even acting very aggressively.
This, you think, might be a good thing.
After all, how many other princesses could claim a beast of the Wyld as one of their servants?

"Now, little one, why don't you come with me, hm? You'd like that, wouldn't you? Some place away from this constant struggle?"

Judging by the slow wagging of her matted tail, she just might.

It brings a smile to your lips.

Do you...?

> Head back to Castle Golgoth, no sense risking staying out in the Wyld and Stryx might know what to do with her?

Let's clean her up, shall we?
>>
>>209262
>> Head back to Castle Golgoth, no sense risking staying out in the Wyld and Stryx might know what to do with her?

Best to head home. As tantalizing as the thought of using her to flush out even more prey was, it'd be unwise to attract unwanted attention, possibly even the Old Wolf if the girl had any ties to him.

Speaking of the wolf-girl...

"Come along, little one. We'll get you squared away back home and figure out what to do with you..."

You don't bother to look back as you start making your way back through the shadowy woods, smirking as you hear dead foliage crunch beneath her paws.

'What to do with her...?'
She'd make a fine servant, but harvesting her could have its own benefits. The ache around your throat reminds you of her powerful claws.
'Claws which I could take for myself..'

Still, in time, you pass the treeline and are welcomed by the sight of Castle Golgoth's massive, roughly-hewn walls, it's gate open like a monstrous maw.

"My Princess, you return! Ah... what is that behind you...?"

Ah, Strix, as loyal as he is worrying. The doddering scarecrow hobbles to greet you, the tilt of his hat shifting between you and your latest acquisition

"Your... pet, my Princess?"

If Strix wasn't an artificial construct designed only to serve, you might think there was a bit of doubt in his voice.
But ultimately...

"As you wish, my Princess. We shall attempt to bathe her so that she reflects your status as a ruler."

That's right.
though, looking over her mangy form, you can't help but think that she already does a fairly good job of representing your current stature...

> Envy
> 85/100

The beast-girl eyes your servants, mindless and otherwise, with suspicion, crawling over to sniff at Strix's worn robe as your entourage walks with you.
Oh, right, she has no idea who they are.
A growl confirms your suspicions as she settles on your side opposite your caretaker.
Yeah, there's no way she's going to let them bathe her by themselves.

"My Lady, we shall take her to your room for her... cleaning. What shall you do in your free time?"

A good question...

> Venture into the Librarium. Your potential tutor still needs a book or scroll that you'd promised her...

You sigh, glancing longingly at your Throne and the misty sheen of your magic mirror before returning your gaze to the she-wolf and the mandrakes who encircle her as she growls and snaps at their attempts to grab her.

"I'll join you, Strix. She seems to trust me, so it may cause less trouble if I help wash her."

...

And that is how you find yourself in the washroom beside your bedroom, sharing a tub and washing your apparently /very/ dirty pet.

"We are definitely going to have to find some perfumes and soaps the next time I go into the humans' world...

Your pet seems ignorant of your struggles, happy to experience a comfort she's clearly never enjoyed before.

"Hm... if you're going to be mine, I should probably name you..."

Not quite what you'd meant when you'd sworn to take the very heavens from the humans to fill the dead sky above you, but it's a start.

She doesn't seem to particularly care about her new name, but she is pleased once the bath is over and the pair of you are died off, though Strix is remiss to use perfectly good cloth on a mere beast.

As it stands, you aren't quite sure what to do with her.

A bodyguard?

A hunting hound?
