okay so welcome to part 4 of this civ evo, the last time the snakins found the secret of their cat worshipping and the radishes found the story of the first races

I like to point out that repeating crossbow should only be used for siege defense or close range combats.

Because the weakness of repeating crossbow it lack powers, reach and accuracy at cost of fast reload.

So that it mean that in siege defense militias should be armed with repeating crossbows while most soldiers use standard crossbows (because they are better shooter).

We have volcanic regions within our territory. I suggest that we start mining some sulfur there so that we can finally have the other ingredient for gunpowder.

Also, if I remember correctly we've found sea caves with snakes living inside them on the southern island pre-apocalypse ago. Assuming that the sea caves are still there we should start harvesting limestone there so that we can use it to make our glass a bit more stronger and clearer and probably use it in other things like construction as well. We'll still need one more ingredient besides that to make legit window glass though.

Also there might also be guano in those caves since they seem to be teeming with organisms. Why else would predatory animals be in there besides hunting cave dwelling animals and shelter?

Finally, even though another nation already invented this you can't deny how useful this tech would be to us, adding steam pistons in our repertoire of tech would help us even further in our steam research. Combining that tech with our steam turbines would help make our steam engines become more powerful.

I don't recommend to upgrade with metal because it will become quit heavy to move around unless we have steam engines.


About the batpeoples that we had captured, I'm think we need linguist specialist to understand their languages. And also I want to test them with various kind of foods and some puzzles to test their intelligence.

They seems to be quit primitive but I don't dare to underestimate them yet, that is still a lot of thing we don't know about them.

We know that they have several leaders, it is possible that several clans are working together with common goal. And it look like they have mobile bases.

I traded with the troll player for sail tech, he gave us the techniques to produce sails, nothing else. I spent the next turn creating our own sails using his tech, from our cloth, and outfitting our ships with them, we traded Stoaks and knowledge of how to ride them for sail tech.

Can we start selectively breeding the birds we've domesticated to make them bigger and stronger - so they can support our weight? I'm sure it would take a lot of turns for the results to pay off but flying cavalry should be well worth it.

We could also start selectively breeding stoaks as well, once they're bigger they ought to be able to carry an armoured rider, and wear armour themselves, they could end up looking like wingless gryphons, pic.

I think sniper crossbows would be a good investment as well, currently I think our crossbows have completely replaced longbows, and we have no gunpowder weapons, so we're at a disadvantage at long ranged combat.

We already found sea caves near the second island back in Part II before the apocalypse. Hopefully it will still be there though the chances of it is pretty low but we'll send gnolls over there anyway just to be sure.

As for the sulfur, our southernmost islands have volcanoes on them. The chances of finding sulfur there are pretty high but it's not a guarantee like the caves, it's better to check then not at all.
