iIt has been 6 months since North Ridge high school began to fly.

Neil Green had been just another awkward nerd until he had woken up with powers that allowed him to alter reality itself. His first action was to convert his high school into a flying fortress.

now, as the teachers have all been transformed into various hideous guard monsters, the student body labors under the iron fist of the dark overlord Neil. yes, outside military has come, but none of them lasted very long. if Neil is to be defeated, it will take cunning, treachery, and guile.

well, you've got willpower, and that's a start.

who are you?

>The Good: Gabe Andrews
Gabe enjoys playing the guitar, skateboarding, and spending time with friends. hes been a boy scout since he was 7, and feels the dark sky empire Neil has created is wrong. Hes been doing the best he can to keep himself and all other students safe, but Neil has been showing signs of putting troops to the ground to expand his empire, and Gabe cant protect all of Earth.
Neil must be overthrown, for the good of mankind.

>The Bad: Genevieve Hawkins
Gen is snide, greedy, petty, and excellent at manipulation. she enjoys nothing more than getting a leg up on the suffering of others, and believes that life is a competition to see who can come out on top. She also hates Neil.
Due to her general demeanor towards him, when he conquered the school, she was punished in the same way as Neils other bullies before being sent to the slave pits.
Neil must be overthrown, because powers like that should belong to someone smarter and better looking.

>The ugly: Greg
Greg is a fat prick. He watches too much anime, plays too many video games, and spends far too much time posting on internet image-boards. his abrasive and competitive nature earned him many enemies, and a harsh rivalry with Neil, who he met on the battlefield of MTG many times.
Neil must be overthrown, because fuck that guy.

Sweat. Sun. Anger.
you grunt as you pull forward again. the line of other slaves next to you pull as well.
the great stone statue piece hitched to all of you makes its way up the ramp slowly.
Neil ran out of useful things for the majority of the slaves to do within a week, so now he has you building statues of him the old fashioned way.
one of the 3 great black armored slave gaurds stands over you, watching placidly with its empty helmet as you struggle to pull the stone forward.
But, just as you feel something inside you about to break, there is a great ringing over the courtyard.
break time!

thoughts have been simmering in your mind since the beginning. thoughts of overthrowing Neil and taking his power for your own. its a lovely fantasy. you figure its finally time to act on it.
slave pits are as good a spot of revolution as any other, you suppose.

stupid giant empty suits of armor, trundling around, being all spiky and filled with magic.
stupid dork who made them. when your empress, you wont have anything as stupid as the slavemasters, with their big gaping helmets.
you'll just have exploding collars fitted onto all the slaves, that way you wont need anyone to watch them. it will be far more efficient.
your thoughts drift.
ah, when you're empress.
you imagine a lovely throne. slave boys fan you as a sniveling advisor reports your conquest of the lands below. you look out a window at your fortress, (far better than this current stupid one.) and feel an overwhelming sense of pride.

but it comes crashing down. here you are, in rags, at the edge of the island, building a third fucking giant statue of the supreme high over-dork.

you wonder if maybe you should have been nicer to Neil back when he wasn't a god powered being. you try to imagine it, but it just doesn't click. people like him were made for insulting.
>>
>>332971
the other slaves are mulling about, making banal small talk about how much this all sucks.
any panic about left the scene ages ago. the crying, the pleading, the attempts to phone parents, all of its faded. now, there is just the hope that a slave can work hard enough to be promoted to regular citizen class.

sure, citizens don't live much better than slaves, but at least you're allowed to own things, and do work other than menial labor.
its also one step closer to being a noble.
>>
>>332982
as you stare up at the sky, wondering quietly if youll ever manage to break out of this horrid place, someone has approached you.

hes a weedier boy. one of the nerds. more likely a dissenter than one of Neils past bullies.
its odd seeing a nerd who didnt end up as a noble. most of them already liked Neil, except for that fat one.

he stands near you for a while, looking at the sky as well.
"its odd having the clouds so close isnt it?" he says eventually.

>"yeah, i suppose it is. I don't know if I'm ever going to get used to the whole flying thing."

"yes, well, Mr. Green and I have always had our disagreements. we weren't very good friends, and i suppose he thought me worthy of menial labor instead. hes an asshole."
there is another beat of silence.
"I suppose it is."
"im sorry, what?"
"the clouds. I don't know if I'm ever going to get used to the whole flying thing."
"at least you're not Mr. Braff."
"the junior year chemistry teacher?"
"yeah. Neil finally managed to catch him. hes some sort of giant winged dinosaur now."
"hell, how many teachers are left?"
"well, Mrs. Perkinson hasn't been seen since week two, Mr. fisher was last seen a week ago, and i think they're actively chasing Mr. Gooding right now."
there is a faint explosion and shouting, very very far in the distance, almost completely inaudible.
"personally, I've bet all my money on Ms. Silver. shes actually managed to kill several gaurds. and even lasted 5 minutes in a fight with Mr. Spaulding."
"before or after Neil caught him?"

the nerd seems still.
he leans in close.
"i dont know how well i can trust you." he pauses for a moment.
"come to bunk 25 in wing 6 tonight."
he snaps upright and walks off.

huh.
the bell rings out again, break is over.
back to hauling stone.

cut to night.
it is dark. you shift uncomfortably on your bunk, one of the many straw holes in the wall of the narrow tunnels.
(pic related I'm a terrible artist.)
peering out down the hall, you see the light of the main chamber at the end. therein lies the problem. you can hear it breathing now.

creeping silently down the hall, you look out into great chamber that connects the slave sleep wings.
Mr. heron is sleeping. you think his name is now Volcanion or some other thing the dork on high thought was cool.
the great dragons nostrils flare as he breathes, blowing hot air through the chamber.
the huge cave mouth behind him that allows him to exit yawns wide, the dark sky of night clearly visible.
Volcanion shifts a bit, stretching one of his legs out and waving his tail a bit.

this is going to be tricky.

you watch the dragon for a bit before you get an idea.
its not very kind, but you were never good at that.
walking over to a nearby bunk, you shake its occupant awake.
its a chubby dopey looking freshman, who looks up at you with a sleepy gaze.
"i need your help. I'm a government agent who's deep undercover. I'm trying to sort all this out but i need to get to the other side of the room with the dragon in it. will you help me?"
he nods sleepily, standing up out of his bed.
"alright." you take him to the edge of the room.
"i need you to run around to behind the dragon and try and find the signal device that's behind him. pick it up and bring it back to me."
you shove him forward and he takes off in a gormless run, feet slapping loudly against the floor.
he trips over the dragons tail.
as you sprint for the entrance to wing 6, you can hear Volcanion waking up. you hear the scream of the dopey boy as the dragon swings around.
you dont stop to see what happens, no time for that. you run right into wing 6 and dash all the way to the back as the scream cuts short.
you sit against the back wall, holding your breath as the dragon scans the room and lies back down to sleep.
poor freshman.

you begin searching for bunk 25.
>>
>>333210
eventually, you find it. the bunk is empty.
letting out a sigh, you look over the interior of the bunk.

it looks exactly like all of the other bunks. as you search around, your elbow knocks the pillow away.

under the pillow is a small tunnel, just large enough for a person to squeeze into. you can see light down the hole.
>>
deciding theres notjong for it, you shoive yourself into the hole. dropping down, you fall for a few feet into a space.

you are in a crudely hacked out room under bunk 25.
the nerd from the slave pits is here, as are 2 other people.

(im thinking about ending here for today if no one says otherwise.)
>>
Gooooood morning planet earth, we've completed another rotation without incident and the sun is now in the sky again, which makes this the perfect time to continue our quest thread!

when we last left off, you had dropped dow nthe crudely hacked tunnel into the small dug out room under bunk 25 in wing 6.

this is a very small cramped space. its just large enough that you could fit 6 people down here at once.
thankfully, there are currently only 4 people.

"good of you to make it. if you were able to make it past Volcanion, you're either clever enough to help us, or you work for Neil."
"look, if you think for a second id work for that jackass..."
"we have devised a test."

the nerd walks over to the corner and digs a section of the wall out. in the space he has cleared, there is a large metal pipe.

"its one of the islands ventilation shafts. if you are truly dedicated to our cause, you will enter it through a hole here, advance towards the center of the island, and return in several hours with proof of where you have been."
"and this shows my dedication how?"
"we suspect that this particular vent goes into the cavern network underneath the fortress. in those caves is where Mr. Braff was caught.

At the time, Mr. Braff was carrying a keycard to the islands engine room, and our sources indicate it was not on him when Neil hauled him off.

find that keycard, and we will trust you. foolish, really, but there you go."

"any other questions?"

No
>>
>>335797
there is a clang as the hunk of vent falls to the ground. the other boy straightens and gives a thumbs up.

"well then, off you go. oh, wait! i nearly forgot!"
he pulls what looks like the head of a thumbtack out of a pocket.
"here, this will allow us to stay in contact."
he sticks it to your ear, where it look like a piercing.

the ventilation shaft is dark and cramped, but its not hard to get lost in a straight line.
eventually, you see light.

kicking in the grate, you drop down into a large cavern.

NEW AREA FOUND: SLIME ZONE
>>
>>335814
this cavern is very large and open. there is grass beneath your feet.
great pools of glowing green slime illuminate the area, as a small pipe occasionally flows in more.
stalactites hang down, some with vines hanging down.
all in all, this place seems semi verdant, and smells strongly of nickelodeon slime.

you walk forward into the cavern a bit.
it seems quite peaceful actually.
theres no other signs of life, and the only sound is of the soft lapping of slime.

speaking of the slime, you figure its time to properly investigate it.
kneeling beside a nearby pool, you watch it slosh for a bit.
its thick and opaque, but can still move a bit.
poking it with a finger, its gooey, but your finger still enters it easily.

if it were to become colder, it could probably freeze.

you wipe your finger off on the grass.
>>
>>336000
deciding there's nothing for it, you begin to advance deeper into the cave.

hopping over a line of floating stones, you come to very large slime pool, with a small shack overlooking it. the door is open, and wires run from the roof to a hole far up in the wall.

you can just barely see something floating in the middle of the large pool.

there is a large window with a view of the pool.
there are several buttons here.
one marked with a trashcan, one marked with a lightning bolt, and one marked with a small flame.

from the window, you have a better view of the pool.

the item floating in the center appears to be some sort of keycard.

the pool is sloshing slowly. aside from that, the cavern seems perfectly peaceful.
there's a large pipe in the ceiling above the pool, and a wire runs from the front of the shack up to it. you suppose its connected to one of the buttons.

>>336047
you walk to the edge of the pool and start wading out.
the pool is only around waist deep, a little above the belly button at highest.
as you reach the center of the pool and grab the keycard, your earpiece beeps to life.

"base to agent, base to agent! what color is the slime?!"

"I got the keycard. I'm on my way back."

"What. color. is. the. slime, agent?"

"a sort of fluorescent green."

"GET OUT OF THERE NOW."

the slime quakes a bit.
>>
>>336064
a bit away from you, a lump begins to rise in the slime.

it rises and stretches out, a torso rising forth.

you realize, with a sense of encroaching dread, that your waist deep in one of Neils monsters.

a girls voice echoes through the cavern.

"well hellooo... I don't get visitors that much..."

as you panic and wade for the shore, the torso dissapears and reforms near you.

you can see now it appears to be a cute young girl, but you dont like the look on her face. it is one of hunger.
>>
>>336087
"all i get fed is garbage, and now someones dropped a human in! ooh...
do I eat you, or bring you to the Master?
Hed be so happy if i did..."

your earpiece crackles to life again.

"agent, are you alright? did you make it out?"

"not exactly. I've got a giant slime monster trying to decide whether or not to eat me."

the radio lets out a disappointed groan.
"well, try and get out of there. and dont make too much racket, or Neil will send someone down to have a look."

the monster pauses, suddenly listening very attentively.

"im on a mission for Neil. This keycard was left here by one of the teachers, and Neil sent me to retrieve it."

the monster seems a bit let down at this news.

"oh. well I'm not allowed to eat anyone who works for Neil. i suppose ill let you go." she sinks back down into a puddle and softens her grip on your legs.

"Don't worry, ill tell Neil youre doing such a good job keeping this area secure hell be sure to send something tasty down here for you."

you turn and dash like mad for the shore, eventually climbing back up onto the bank.

KEYCARD GET!

the radio calls in again.
"agent, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. and, I have the keycard."

"alright. come on home. I'm so sorry. when i mentioned slime, Marie told me that might be the islands garbage disposal cavern. Neil keeps that ooze monster there to get rid of the islands trash."

you realize that's probably what the trash can button in the shack did. you wonder what the other two buttons did.

as you return to the vent, you hear the sound of a large door opening, far on the other side of the cavern.

scurrying up into the vent as fast as possible, you even make sure to refit the grate.

"good evening master!"

"good evening slime-chan. I'm just out on a walk. couldn't sleep, you know how it is."

"I nearly ate the person you sent down to retrieve the teachers keycard before she told me she was working for you. I almost did a bad thing."

"keycard? what keycard?"

"when you caught that teacher yesterday, he dropped a gross plastic card in me, but a tasty girl came and got it. she said you sent her."

there is silence.

"master?"

"well, this is just great. I suppose that's what I get for making you adorably naive. now then..."

you hear the shack door slam shut. a couple moments later, you hear the sound of crackling electricity, and a scream.

eventually, the door opens again.

"im going to go interrogate Yesterdays catch and find out what that keycard was for. you are going to think about what you've done."

the large door to the cavern slams shut again, and you hear a burbling whimper.
>>

crawling back through the vents, you make it back to the underground room.

all three inhabitants are eagerly awaiting your arrival.

"you've made it! oh my god, we were so worried!" squeals the girl.

you hand the nerd the keycard. he wipes some slime residue off with his hand.

"good work agent, you have gone into the belly of the beast and retrieved something very important. well just have someone smuggle this over to our cell with access to the engine room, and we can work on bringing this whole place down."

you walk along the catwalk for a while, before reaching a large metal tower that dominates the room.

wires and catwalks stretch out from the tower, implicating it as a sort of control tower.

stepping through one of its doorways, you find the tower is a very busy place.

small green gremlins scurry back and forth, barking orders at each other, carrying tools, and climbing with monkey speed up and down the tower.
the place is a hotbed of activity.

its now you notice the gremlins are all wearing the same hat. a squarish mechanics work cap in red with a white letter G on the front.

the higher floor looks to be the brain of the foundry's operation. many of the gremlins here are flicking controls and barking orders down shouting tubes.

foot traffic is very high here, and you find yourself almost getting bustled around by the crowd.

one gremlin with a clipboard wanders up to you.

"are you the new transfer?" he questions in the voice of one with places to be.

"No. Niel sent me here to gather a status report"

"ahh! right this way."

he leads you down one of the catwalks. he occasionally stops at a shouting tube and shouts something down.

eventually he opens a door, and gestures inside.
>>
>>338767
you step inside.

the room is dark, but the gremlin with the clipboard walk in behind you and turns on the light.

the door slams shut behind you as two other gremlins draw knives.

"Neil never sends anyone down here unless were supposed to put them to work.
whats your goal here? impersonating an official has got a hefty penalty."

one of the gremlins is flipping his knife, and the other appears to be licking his as they advance.

"yup. she says she works for you."

you turn to see the gremlin with a communicator pressed to his ear.

"yessir. nossir. right away sir."
he shuts it back up and sticks it in the pocket of his overalls.

"alright, so Neil said i could deal with you however i want, so figure ill either throw ya in the brig or give ya a job."

"tell Neil that I know what the keycard is for. He'll know what it means."

the gremlins pause, as their leader pulls the communicator out again.

"heyyy boss. yeah, i know your busy, but that broad down here in the foundry said something that seemed semi important. she says she knows what "the keycard" is for. yeh i dont know what it means. okay. all right."

he puts the communicator away and shrugs.

"Neils sent someone to get you. you can just hang out here, i guess."

he pinches the bridge of his nose and leaves, muttering to himself.

one of the other gremlins leaves as well, leaving you alone with one of the knife wielders.

"pretty slick."

"thanks. are you going to tell on me?"

"naaaah." he lights a cigarette. "i respect quick thinking. hey, you should take this."

he walks to a cabinet and pulls out one of the gremlin hats.

"don't put it on right now. you'll know when you need it. best of luck to ya kid."

he hands you the hat and sits down.

ITEM OBTAINED: GREMLIN HAT

"whoever Neil sent will be here soon."

there is a knock at the door.
>>
>>338944
the door opens, revealing a woman in a professional jacket and skirt. great, another clipboard wielder.

what stands out to you is her large horns, and the tail that flicks around behind her.

"The master has sent for you. come along."

deciding there isn't really any choice, you walk along behind her.

"where are we going?"

"to see the master. you have information that is useful to him."

"so, whats your story? who were you before Neil turned you into... this?"

"the master did not create me. i believe he was attempting to summon a succubus."

"what are you?"

"I am a Bureaucubus. I believe i am the only true demon in the masters employ, as all others were created with his powers, such as that ridiculous succubus stereotype he has working for him."

you walk for what feels like ages. you take elevators, you take stairs, eventually the industrial underground gives way to rustic civilization and eventually you find yourself in the castle halls of the upper fortress.

after months in the slave pits, the plush velvet carpet under your feet feels like the softest thing to ever exist.

you feel pissed looking at all of this opulent design. you've been sleeping in a crudely hacked out hole in the wall for months, and Neils been living it up in this place with his loser friends.

eventually, you finally reach your destination.

the horned woman leads you through an ornate door.

on the other side is Neil.

hes wearing his dark overlord armor, with the stupid pauldrons, and the stupid helmet, and the stupid swooshy cape.

"kneeel, peon!"
the horned woman kneels, and drags you down by your shoulder.
"stand and deliver."

"my lord, this woman has information on the lost keycard."

"ah. yes. tell me, what do you know?"

Neil leans forward, looking you over.

"look, i know i was a huge bitch to you before, but things are different now. look at yourself. at all of this."

you spin, gesturing at the fortress around you.

"you've won. I'm grovelling. if you let me work for you, i can be very useful. if you're not satisfied, you can do with me what you must."

"I like it. its... duplicitous. very well."

Neil focuses for a moment, and what looks like the head of a golden tack appears in the air. he catches it.

"here. this communicator will allow you to keep in touch with me. i see you've already got one like it."

you take the communicator and attach it to your other ear.

"thank you. may your reign be long." you do your best to keep a straight face.

well, where to now? there's any number of places to go, people to talk too. you pull the gremlin hat out of your inventory and turn it over. you still don't know what the hell its for.

Daniel sucks some air through his teeth.

"you found the foundry then. weve been looking for that for ages. the gremlins keep the entire island running. the foundry is where Neils manufacturing plant. hes too lazy to make everything through magic.

if i remember correctly, most of the gremlins arent even people who were here during takeoff. Neil sends snatcher squads down to the surface whenever he feels staff is getting a bit too low."

"how the hell do you get gremlins from the surface.?"

"same way Neil gets his dragons and succubi and spider-women."

"but theres so many of them."

"he has some other way. he doesn't change them himself. we've met the occasional runaway gremlin who's not yet programmed to work for him too. unfortunately, we don't know enough about the process for it to be useful info."

"yeah."

you suppose you should learn what the other revolutionary cells are plotting if youre going to properly pit everyone against each other.

unfortunately, you have no idea where any of them might be.

you're going to need some way to get around the island as well. this could be an issue, as your still officially a slave (got to keep your cover)

theres got to be some way to do this...

"i could turn you into a newt. then you could go anywhere."

"ha ha. im serious."

"hmmm... i could give you a gremlin hat. the gremlins can go anywhere, and nobody ever pays them any attention. you might get pulled over to do work every once in a while, but ill consider it your payment for escaping the slave pits."

"I've already got a gremlin hat."

"oh, really? alright. just put it on, and you'll be ready to go."

"is that it? i dont see what..."

you have blacked out.
>>

you blink awake.

something is wrong.

everything is far larger.

looking down, you see your now the same size as the gremlins.

you raise a hand and see your now a lovely shade of green.

scratch that. you are a gremlin. great.

you reach over to your new large ear and switch on Neils communicator.

"hey, jerk. whatza big idea? you didnt tell me i waz gunna get bunged off in some other body?!"

Neil laughs on the other end.

"hah! you totally fell for it. hey, at least you can get around easily now."

you growl.

"when all this is over, im gunna smack youz so hard yull feel it fer a week!"

"ah ah ah, is that any way to talk to your emporer?"

you blow a raspberry.
you dont know what compelled you to do that.
adjusting your new tiny mechanic overalls and pulling your hat down, you hang up the communicator.

well hey, hes right. now you can get wherever you need to.

>what now?

you trudge off, eventually finding yourself in one of the maintenance tunnels in the city.

ah, the city.

you haven't seen much of it, only a little bit as your moved through it in the slave wagons.

its not that large, but Neils working on growing it. the whole place sits in the shadow of the fortress, but is slowly working on escaping it. every week, Neil stands at the edge of the island, raising more land.

eventually, the maintenance tunnel gives way to a subway tunnel. you can see light a ways down. it looks like a lantern. anyone out right now is violating curfew.

"alright mike, whats the plan?"
"we go to the dropsite, pick up the cargo, and head back to base."
"sounds like a good plan."
"its a very good plan. the boss spent weeks cross comparing guard schedules until he found a gap we could slip through to get outside the walls."
"so... what the hell is the military delivering?"
"dont know. boss said to treat it gentle though."

"so, whod you bet on?"
"ah, the teachers? i bet on mr.gooding. i remember, in class once, he jumped 3 feet to hit a spider with a textbook. we were joking about it for the rest of the year. i think someone as doughy as him can turn into the hulk in the right situation."
"theyve almost got him you know."
"but they aint got him yet. besides, what are you so smug about? you bet it all on the gym teacher, and he got caught 2 months ago."
"yeah. bookies still hassling me to pay up."
"you'd better do it, i hear hes trying to get the betting pool officially endorsed by Neil. if that happens, not paying ups gonna become a lot more dangerous."

the two of them are far down the tunnel now. you can move again without being noticed.

creep along behind them, eventually they leave the subway tunnel and the following gets harder.

they're running now, moving quickly through a park.
and now they've gone out one of the city gates.

those clever bastards coordinated their movement to move through right when the guards were changing. by the time theyre through, an armored figure has marched out and set himself up in the gateway.

you nearly run into him.

"halt! oh. its a gremlin. keep up the maintenance, tiny friend."

he salutes, as you continue through the gate.

you can see the boys. their now far down the coast.

one of them is keeping watch while another is lowering a rope off the edge. you can hear the sound of a helicopter, and then its gone.
eventually, he hoists the rope back up. its now tied to a large box.

you've been creeping closer to try and see any sort of identifying marking on the box. unfortunately, the circle of a flashlight beam has found you.

"shit mike, look sharp!"
mike bolts upright, drawing a knife.
"nah, relax. its just a gremlin."

"I cant relax! they work for Neil."

the other boy reaches down and picks you up by the collar.

"what do we do? chuck her over the edge?"

"watch the hands bub! you cant throw me off the edge, im part of the revmolution."

mike raises an eyebrow.

"i work with the slave pits cell. i got sent out here to cover youz guyz asses."

"the boy holding you thinks for a bit.
"I dont know mike, can we trust her?"

"of course not. all the gremlins are brainwashed to follow Neil. well take her back to base with us. maybe she can at least be useful as a test subject on undoing whatever Neil dow to the little green wierdos."

the two of them set off, box in hand, and you in tow. tied up with the rope.
>>
>>339950
eventually, after a long walk. they blindfold you.
youre led through tunnels until eventually the blindfold is pulled off.

this cell is a bit bigger than the slave pits cell.

for starters, their base is more than a hole in the ground, and they appear to have 14 members instead of 3.

you've been placed in the center of a table.
several people are looking you over, including one fellow in a white coat.

"what do you think doc? she any use for the stuff your looking into?"

mike and the other boy are dragging the box into a back room.

the "doc" nods.
"yes. my research on Neils genetic rewriting has hit a wall. with a subject who has undergone the process, i can make a bit more headway."

he reaches over and pats your head.

"do not worry little friend. ill soon find a way to break Neils brainwashing."

"ey, can you pull off my hat?"

"is this a trick?"

"no. I'm just hot."

tentatively, one of them reaches forward and pulls the cap off your head.

there's a few moments of silence. nothing happens.

you are going to make sure that Neils eventual death is slow and excruciatingly painful.

eventually, doc scoops you up and carries you off to a lab in the back,

im gonna end it here today.

thanks for playing so far lime, youre a cool guy.
