Almost 2 years have passed since you became The Overlord
Many things have happened, you found The Reds, you took over two new villages under your control and you got another mistress
Last we left off: You were about to take on some disgraced heroes.

Previous Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/315581/ (Accidentally cut off last bit)
Character Sheet: http://pastebin.com/6TfyJwgg
Forge Pastebin: http://pastebin.com/PH7i5BUP

Majority vote wins, Minimum 3 votes, No rigid time limit for votes. In case of ties, votes will be given an opportunity to change votes and new votes will be accepted. If a tie remain, choice will be decided by a die roll. Dice rolls will be d10s and d20s. There is a 10 minute time limit for rolling, unless specified. Crit Success trumps Crit Fail which trumps non-crit Success and Fail. And remember evil always finds a way.

>20, Huge Success
>Fight, Magic
Magic is your strong suit so you'll go with that. You leave your minions to throw fire from afar while you cast poison traps at the paladins' feet. Their armor doesn't catch fire easily but once it does it burns hot and bright. The paladins try dispelling the magic but the heat on their skin and the sickness in their bodies make it nearly impossible. One throws a spear at you and doesn't even make it close, pitiful. The paladins never even got close to make a hit on you. One is struggling to rip off his bile covered helm screams "YOU WILL DIE WITH US WRETCH" Highly unlikely, a dying man will defeat you? A blade drives into your side, a small pinch. You look down and see the rogue next to you, putting her mass behind the strike. You pick her up by the throat, she struggles clawing at your hand "You are coming with me" You leave the village for now, but you'll probably have a hero's welcome when you return.

"Who are you and are there more of you?" She looks up at you "I don't know how many more, they recruited me. I didn't see how many messages they sent. People know about you, GOOD people know about you. As for the name, names are for friends and so you aren't getting one." So there are more out there maybe you should have left a paladin alive.

>22, Huge Success
Now back to the disrespect. Hold her to the wall by her throat, she tries pushing your hand away and is having a hard time breathing. "You know who I am so you know what happens to those who disrespect me. So again. Name." You let up on your grip so she can talk, she chokes on the fresh air. "Isa. If you let me go I'll just leave and never come back. Please just let me leave." Are you feeling generous or you still feeling inquisitive?

Lydel, what a quaint little town, 400 or so people and until recently a nice place. The town welcomes you will applause for getting rid of those "heroes", thieves and pedophiles but you a savior. You methods while harsh are effective and you are just looking out for the productivity of the town you control. Everyone works their fair share, no slackers or skips, just honest people. This is true control, self induced and self regulating, you can in theory not do a damn thing to this place and they will work themselves to the bone. But they do expect you to lead them some how. How will they serve you?

Dwarven (Rugged) and Elvish (Elegant) are finer quality but more expensive. That's nice to know but what will we gain if we get more Blacksmiths because at this point I think we have blacksmiths from every races.

There are more races and factions then the ones you've encountered. More blacksmiths mean more options, metal and selection wise. I need to go in the forge pastebin and add more options based on the amount of blacksmiths. Maybe have an "unlock tiers" for number of blacksmiths and what kind.

>5, Critical Fail
This will be a match to remember, toe to toe with a troll. You will need to cover some ground and an air trip on the troll sounds like the perfect idea. Khopesh in hand, you cast your spell and begin your rush forwards. Your spell bounces off the troll's huge belly and comes right back to you. The sprint you were in becomes a series of slips and falls with the troll running towards you. Finally your feet touch ground... along with the rest of your body as you get crushed under rolls of fat. The troll picks up your recently flattened body and hurls you at the arena wall. It's laughter echoes through the arena while aches echo through your body. The spell is gone and it's back is turned. Here is your chance to turn this around, but maybe you should try sticking to one basic tactic

This troll will know your blade, it's blood will know the earth. You pick up your blade and rush the troll, as it turns you cut deep into its leg. It wails in pain thrashing about as it drops to a knee, a pool of blood already beginning to form. Nearby rocks are thrown at you but either glance off your armor or miss entirely. Blood splatter covers you and the troll as you bring down another blow, this time separating the troll's hand from its wrist. It desperately flails at you but it just falls completely to the ground, it's breathing haggard from its own weight and blood loss. You have won, the crowd knows it and the troll knows it's end is soon. "KILL IT! CUT ITS BLOODY HEAD OFF" The bloodlust radiates from the stands, and you will sashiate it. Your own lust for violence make you hack and slash through the troll's thick neck quickly. Moments later you raise its barely reconizable head into the air and the crowd explodes. Everyone knows the might of the overlord

>Lysandra
It been sometime since you've had a real talk with Lysandra, maybe you should see how things are going for her. "You got lucky in the arena, maybe instead of trying to be all 'I'm the strongest and Magically gifted' be efficient and smart. You severely undercast that spell trying to rush in, you came out looking like a fool and almost lost" She isn't mad just disappointed, which actually kinda stings more. You shift topics, what has Isa revealed . Lysandra perks up a bit "We have a lead on the greens. Isa's home village is in a marshy area and lately has been having rumors of green devils that could turn invisible and strange smells with no source. Nothing concert but sounds like them to me. Only problem it's super far east by southeast and blocked by mountains from our side, it's at least a 3 month journey." Kinda of a mixed bag but maybe you can find a shortcut through. A status on the thieves' guild would be nice, it is supposedly her pride and joy. "It's going a lot more smoothly than expected, normally there is a bit of a power struggle at first but I think I've got a trump card. And the children are so sweet, be afraid they may steal my heart" Children, never really cared for them but you do appreciate their capacity for evil. Maybe you should give it more thought, the three most recent overlord, self included, are a direct bloodline. Lysandra's face is about as red as her hair. "Don't joke around with me like that..." Guess you need to show her you are serious. (Alright I can't write smut, If someone wants to write in a scene and it's good I'll give you a choice ticket)

>Hometown happenings and recruitment
It is time again to visit your only prisoner, let's squeeze every last thing out of her. "You look well today. I was told a very interesting story about disappearing green devils maybe you can tell me more about them" She sighs "They are small impish things, not unlike your... things. Why? Did ya lose them?" A small smirk appears on her face. Everfire appears in your hand "You are going to help me get them. If you are lucky I may even pay you, triple of whatever those paladins promised if you are quick about it. OR i can roast you alive until you help for free. Your choice." Fully upgrade helmet and armor with them browns. That should take...770 minions.
We should also shell out the cash for some rune inlays on things, but...I have no idea what the runes we have access to do, nor do I know if runes apply only to weapons or if they can be put on anything.

"You want to catch on fire, because that is how you catch on fire." The dwarf stands "tall" and bares through the pain until you undo the spell. Surprised by this dwarf's determination maybe you should hear him out, maybe it's something important. "We has uh problem wit dem damn gnomes, they've gone and stolen de whole village's socks. Dare burrows are in duh foothills, soon duh sockhills" No word better describes what you are feeling right now than regret. Regret you didn't kill this dwarf and regret you didn't burn this whole place to the ground. Simple solution buy a village worth of socks and move on or you can crush these gnomes.

Going to the "sockhills" you find the gnome burrows quickly, there is convenient signage for world's largest pile of socks. And it indeed is huge. Nearly twice as tall as you it certainly is a sockhill. Finding the "tour guide" you engage in a simple to follow conversation, I'll kill you if you don't stop taking socks and give these ones back. Some gnomes keel over just from your booming voice, 3 you crushed when you walked up unbeknownst to you. But the simple message is understood and acknowledged. You return the socks to the dwarves and in return they will help you through the mountains

Besides you shouldn’t let your runesmiths get relaxed for too long, idle hands and minds make trouble for you. You meet with the lead runesmith and he gives you the breakdown. Runes are like permanent enchantments but that permanency comes at a cost of not just gold but having a positive and negative affect on the user. An example, you add a rune that increases fire damage protection in exchange you have to decrease damage protection of another element. The general rule is the negative is as bad as the positive is good, but in theory you could make the negative far worse though this would serve no purpose. With all this being said the runesmith has prepared some designs for you to consider

>Binding Armor; Increase in Physical Defense, Decrease in Weapon Proficiency

>Uncertain Command; Increase horde limit, Foresight has a random chance of being wrong

>Bipolar Luck; Chance of Critical Success and Failure increase

>Clashing Elements; Increase in [Element 1] damage, Decrease in [Element 2] defense

Okay I'm not into runes anymore lets skip this.

>Bipolar Luck; Chance of Critical Success and Failure increase
I'm feelin lucky.

Although...we should order for a sword to be made. Ornate, of shining splendor...and then inlay it with runes with very little positives, and ridiculously large negatives. When it's finished, we place this object in some old ruins, and spread rumours of a sword that destroys all evil that it strikes. The sword of evil's bane.

Of course, heroes will seek it out, pick it up, and probably be slain by incredible misfortune and other curses present.

The runes do not look attractive at the moment... maybe as an eleventh hour option.

None of these seem good to me.

I'm too sick to keep posting today. I'll pick this up in the morning

>No Runes
On second thought runes don't sound like a good idea right now. None of the options presented seemed worthwhile and you couldn't come up with a combination you felt comfortable with either. Maybe you'll revisit the idea at a later time.

>Travel through the mountains
The dwarves are going to lead you through the mountains, taking Isa with you, you start this new journey today. A huge door is carved into the side of the mountain, simple glyphs cover it with a oddly familiar style. Isa leans over to you, "I hear that the only way to open these kinds of doors is by saying the dwarvish code words" The dwarf steps forward and yells, "FUCK'N OP'N", the door opens slowly revealing a tunnel. "C'mon laddies , it ain't op'n ferev'r" You, Isa and your minions go inside, the door closing behind your group. Hopping in a cart you can travel through the tunnels much more quickly. In three days travel you finally stop, "Yer Stop". Leaving the tunnels, the feeling the wind on your skin and see the stars in the sky is calming. "The village is about a 3 hours of travel from here. We should rest for the night and travel in the morning. They don't like visitors in the night, superstition says they are bad luck."

>Head to village now, their superstition is correct you are bad luck for them.

>Head out in the morning, a full nights rest before you kick their gate down.

>Head out in the morning.
It is a smarter idea to get a full night's rest before you go trying to kick down the gate to this town. Isa seeming to sense your thought of domination chimes up, "Breetle is larger than any other town you've taken, 1400 people. It's bigger than the rest of your domain and its on the other side of a mountain range. You aren't going to be able to do your usual shtick, 'Fear me and my munchkins' the people will fight back. I don't think you'll be able to take it anytime soon" This gives you some things to ponder on, how will you conquer this place and how long will it take? You can't forget why you are here though, the greens. They could play a very vital role in taking this place. Morning has come and you begin you trek through the marshlands spending the major of the time looking for signs of the greens but no luck. Arriving at the gate Isa lets you know SHE will be doing the talking. A little while later the gates open and you are in. Now you've got a few options and how about you'll find the greens, start gathering info or just head out 1 of the other 2 gates

>Gather Info, Market

>Gather Info, Tavern

>Gather Info, Town Hall

>Head out West gate, Forest

>Head out South gate, Swamp/mire

>Tavern
If you remember correctly all worthwhile adventures start in a tavern or a prison but you are never going to be behind a cell door so tavern it is. "I know a place, the ale only tastes like piss when you make them angry" And like that you are at The Cracked Cup pushing your way through the small door frame. The tavern is bustling and you only get a stare or two. Last time you were in a bar you killed a man, you'll try to keep it to maim if things get violent. You take a seat, "Ale". The man behind the bar doesn't say anything and just pours you a tankard. Isa sits next to you, "Hey Otto get me the usual" He smiles and makes her some odd little mixed drink. "I need to call in a favor, I need to know where those green imps are." Otto unfurls a map and points south of the town. "Thanks Otto" Alright the greens are in the swamp mire but you won't be able to take minions in so you will be on your own on this. Finishing off your ale you go to leave, but Isa pulls you back into your seat. "Stay awhile they aren't going anywhere"

>20, Huge Success
You've come all this way, you deserve another drink or six. Knocking back drinks with Isa actually is kinda interesting, you alway have to be the overlord back in your domain. It doesn't seem like news of your exploits has reached here or they don't recognize you, guess it doesn't matter. You relaxing a bit won't destroy the domain, what's the worst that could happen? 4 more drinks down and you are still going good, number 6 here we go. Just as you are about to raise your mug someone bumps into you making you spill your drink. "Can't handle your ale blue boy? Maybe water is a little more your level" Some laughs come from behind you.

Standing up, you grab the shoulder of your new "friend" "What yo-" Your fist meets this guy's jaw, and some of his teeth meet his tonsils. His ass is firmly planted on the ground "Looks like you have a hard time standing, maybe the floor is more your level" you introduce your boot heel with his nose. His friends stand up "I've got no problem with you sit back down" They hesitate before sitting back down, you take your seat.

>Drinking Contest with Isa
After showing that guy what was what you feel thirsty and knock back your drink"You handle your alcohol pretty well but I bet you won't be able to drink me under the table." If that was a challenge you accept it. Isa shrugs and you guys pull up a table and Otto puts down a bottle with the label "Never Cloudy". It looks like there is water inside, can't be too bad if it looks like water can it? Five shots are poured for each of you, five? Either this stuff is strong or Isa thinks you are a light weight, or both. Not wanting to look weak you take the first shot, liquid dragon fire covers your mouth and throat. Isa takes her shot with no reaction to its taste. You may have fucked up but it's too late for regrets now. Your second shot goes down a little smoother but the impact of the shots are starting to hit. Isa takes her shot and smiles, she's taunting you. Shot three doesn't burn and doesn't have taste, your mouth has no feeling any more, the room feels tilted. Isa takes another shot, she's holding the table. 4 shots down, now you are holding on to the table. Isa has a pained look as she finishes her next shot, she Is swaying Or you are it's hard to tell. 5th shot, you are done as long as you can stay up right you will win. Isa drops her shot as she lifts it to her lips, and she on the floor. Victory, you stand. Black…
A burning set of eyes are staring you down through the darkness, “You will the catalyst to my return.” What? You sit up in a cold sweat. Well you managed to make it to a bed and looks like you didn't have any company, Getting dressed and ready for the day. The greens will be yours today… or you could go back to the tavern or look for you Isa to help you
