Recap: Sam/Rob and Doris decide to head to the local hospital to see if they can help out at all. You end up scaring a nurse and later accompanying her at a surgery. She shows us her ability to cause cell growth and we go see how Doris is doing with some of her injured friends. Doris warns us that a notorious outlaw that could mean trouble for the town.

As about the notorious outlaw
>>
File deleted.
>>343072
You ask about the outlaw.
Doris - We know her by many names, but the most common is the Sky Pirate. She's short-tempered, sadistic, and an absolute menace to everyone. I've heard she's destroyed entire rust bucket cities in only a matter of hours. Once she has a new target in sight, almost nothing is going to deter her from taking everything her heart desires.
Doris leans on her unconcious friend more.
Doris - I'm just hoping for the sake of all of us here that this fool just had a wild dream..
She laughs a little to herself before standing up and stretching a little.

Does she have any weird mutations/abilities?

Doris - She wasn't born a freak like the rest of us, so she is relatively, ahem, "healthy" looking as they would call it. The only visible change would be her tongue which she replaced with some sort of tongue-eating louse. Additionally, some reports say that she has fangs but this is disputed.
While talking she points at her mouth and even makes little fangs with her fingers.
Doris - She's been said to have incredibly durable bones and also heightened senses. Whether these are results of her experiments or just natural abilities are unclear.
>>
>>343314
Has anyone ever come close to defeating her, or the most successful in holding off an attack, and how?

Doris - Uh... well no one has defeated her in battle, though there are many that lived to tell their tales. There are rumors, that there is one individual who beat her... but more through emotional means. Given her nature though, these rumors are dubious at best. There was this one city, some rust bucket capitol, that was able to repel one of her attacks. Her ego must have gotten the best of her and she thought she could take it on. Though after she retreated, she had gone into a fit of rage and ravaged several nearby cities and settlements. We don't have any sort of weapons that can even compare to the cities defenses however. It's possible that she could be bargained with... but that is extremely unlikely as she could with even less effort simply take everything she saw that even mildly interested her.
>>
>>343431
Well shit. Is there anyway we can improve my mutations?

Doris - The easy answer would be yes, but not around here. We just don't have the tools or know how. There's a few options, I mean there are several pharmaceutical companies loosely affiliated with us but it's unlikely they have the abilities to improve your current mutations. The only other option, which is really not in the realm of possibilities, is going under the Sky Pirate's knife. Though if you ever end up in her care you aren't getting a choice of what get's done to you.
She thinks for a moment.
Doris - If you are worried about being caught up in any sort of attack though, I could always give you some money to go get a weapon of your own to defend yourself with.

You ask if there is any information about her life before she became the outlaw she is today.
Doris puts a hand on her cheek and things for a moment before answering.
Doris - Just some vague details. She apparently lived in the streets for whatever reason, whether her parents died or abandoned her or something else. She would go on to rob countless locations, the money never recovered. She would later try to court a duke of some sort, though records on who are sketchy at best because we don't have access to the reports by the cities. She would later murder him and make off with a lot of his wealth which she would later use to fund her own personal crew. Things just kinda spiraled from there really.

Doris - Well... good luck with that. The only place that has any solid information would probably be the rust bucket capitol and there is no way you would be able to get in and retrieve that. If you are really interested in gathering information, you could see what kind of rumors are floating around. There's a friendly tavern in a nearby town called the Common Club Alehouse. The town is equally safe for freaks and other people, but it doesn't mean the town itself is safe. It's a hotspot for mercenaries looking to get away from the eyes of the rust bucket government, so if you do head there, please watch yourself.
She flashes yet another smile, as if she's trying to force herself to cheer up. After a few moments she appears to recollect herself. The sad look her eyes had is no longer there to betray her smile and her posture perks up.

Not doing anything so I might as well get into this. Might be a break between 9 and 10 EST depending on things.
So what now?
>>
>>346072
Sorry to break the flow of the quest with a question, but have you considered adding prompts along side write ins? It would be a bit easier to keep track of the general direction where the lore/story is heading. Not only that, but maybe it would help the anons that are following multiple quests and need to keep up with a lot of story information, so prompts can help as an additional reminder as well.

Unless you want a more random approach, then disregard what I said completely.

Just my two cents, I apologize if I sounded rude or anything. I need to catch up with the last few threads as well.
>>
>>344555
Ask her if she wants to hang out after this
>>
>>346110
Quick clarification, by prompts do you mean like how you give a few options of like what to say or do?
>>
>>346149
>give a few options of like what to say or do
Yes, some possible outcomes that you as the QM think might happen from that scene. Players can also see how the QM thinks about the current situation at hand.

But that's just my personal preference, don't feel obligated to do it at all. I was just curious on why you don't.
>>
>>346170
Well I mean I haven't really known where the story would be going until recently, and was sort of letting it go wherever until I could better sort it out.
The other reason for it is that I haven't really established Sam/Rob as a character per say. He's here and he does things but he is more of a way of viewing this world, which is fine maybe but it makes it hard for me to think "What would he do next". I've tended to try and think of what anons might do next and sort of anticipate what that could be.
Though I do think that at this point it could be useful to sort of give direction to the quest, so I'll have to start using them.
>>
>>346213
Those are pretty good reasons to be more lax about prompts. In any case, neat quest!

Oh and it didn't come off as rude or anything. I'm honestly looking for some critical... well criticism as well. This quest is ideas from a series/webcomic I am thinking about doing and I'm using it to try and flesh out some ideas. Also in the case of it being a full-out comic, the art style is going to be more complex than this.
(Image is some very early tests/scribbles of possible body styles and stuff.)
>>
>>346233
And thanks, I'm glad someone enjoys it. I just wish I could make it neat enough to draw in more people :P
>>
>>346213
Would you like it if the players were to flesh out the character more?
>>
>>346246
It wouldn't hurt. I might try to establish them by seeing what prompts are chosen and/or how Sam 'n Rob react to various scenarios. In retrospect I could have made the MC an actual character instead of a blank slate and that may have been easier.

Doris walks away from the bed and approaches you. You hastily ask if she would like to hang out with you.
Doris - Oh, uh, sure of course. I'm gonna be busy for a while though, so maybe later. Don't forget we do share the same house so it's not like hanging out time will be in short supply!
She smiles but is a bit put off by how quickly you had changed subjects. Was he listening? Was this just because of the social isolation he experienced when he was younger? She figures it doesn't matter much and tries to ignore it and return to her happy mood.

You don't think you did anything wrong so you just smile back for an awkward amount of time.

Doris - I'm... gonna get going. I have some things to do before it gets much later so I should probably get to them...

You approach Deedee and kneel down. You decide to ask her what's wrong before you attempt to cheer her up.
She sniffs a little and sighs.
Deedee - I... I nearly killed him... I wasn't thinking and it nearly cost a life...
You give a wary smile.
Rob 'n' Sam - Well you didn't kill him, so that's good. What did you do wrong...?
Deedee - That stupid flower! Of course he needed that stupid thing... I fixed it just in time but I nearly blacked out during the procedure... thank god that Doctor Bradford was here.
She sniffles again and rubs her eyes.

You leave Deedee alone for now so that she can try to calm down. You stand and turn to talk to who you now know as Doctor Bradford.

Rob 'n' Sam - So... what happened during the procedure? Deedee seems really shaken up.

Doctor Bradford - Well during the procedure when we were trying to transplant the new organs, we couldn't put one of them in because there was some sort of flower protruding from it. Deedee managed to fix it in time before the patient could bleed out anymore and we-... well mostly she did it. She was able to correct the organ and attach it in a very quick manner. She might be upset but she did a really amazing job.

Rob 'n' Sam - Do you guys need any more help here?

Doctor Bradford - Not with this patient, but we might need some more organic material for some of the other patients... if you really want to help you could head down and retrieve some material for us.

>Accept the task and head out.

Rob 'n' Sam - I could do that.

Doctor Bradford - It would be a big help, given most of us here are tied up at the moment. None of the patients that need new material are currently in critical condition so there isn't a huge rush, but the sooner the better of course.

He hands you his hospital ID card.

Doctor Bradford - Just hand this to the man running the Bio Stuff tent in the marketplace. I already placed my order earlier so he should have everything ready.

You nod and head over to Deedee before leaving.

You get down again and put your hand on her back, trying to reassure her.

Rob 'n' Sam - Hey... come on, don't be so hard on yourself! You saved that man's life in the end, didn't you?"

Deedee - I... I suppose.

Rob 'n' Sam - Not "I suppose", you either save him or you don't, and you did save him!

Deedee - Yeah... it's just... it was so close, his blood would have been on my hands...

She pauses for a moment and looks at her hands.

Deedee - Well... figurative blood, haha...

You smile and help her to her feet.

Rob 'n' Sam - I'll be back later... try and cheer up for me, alright?

She blushes lightly and nods. She sniffles and wipes her nose.

The salesman puts out his hand and cuts you off.

Bio Salesman - I'm just yanking your chain, son. I'm assuming you're here to pickup his order then?

You nod and he leans down, putting a moderately sized crate up on the counter.

Bio Salesman - Well here you are. Make sure you're careful with this, it took a while to get some of this stuff!

You nod in understanding. The stuff in the case will be fine as long as you don't spill the contents everywhere or lose the case itself.
