Welcome to Cultural Evo, the game of MULTIFACETED GROWTH. In Cultural Evo, you will control both a small but growing village, interact with other villages, and watch as your village's culture grows and changes with the years as events force them to grapple with new introductions to their worldview.

Continuing TURN 7.

The prior thread was HERE!

Remember that there are three people to a team, the team gets to make one culture action AND one tribal action a turn, and you can exchange one cultural action for a tribal action, and vice versa.

CURRENT POPULATION COUNTS

Ore Tribe: 51 people. (1 incidental birth per year)
Sand Tribe: 37 people. (1 incidental birth per year)
Tree Tribe: 38 people. (2 incidental births per year)
Mire Tribe: 33 people. (1 incidental birth per year)
Brush Tribe: 15 people. (1 incidental birth per year)

Current Trading Routes
Ore Tribe & Sand Tribe: Ore Tribe receives Pottery and Clay Tablets, Sand Tribe receives Copper Bells and Rudimentary Copper Tools.
>>
>>35233
looking good.
hopefully within a few years my tribe can have a shit ton of fish and farm industry production.

>>35283
no one took your spot that I know of.

I think we could actually have more in each tibe.>>35294
can't we have 4 per tribe?
>>
>>35283
I believe your spot is open, actually.
>>35300
Three per tribe is already 15 people, which is a lot in a /qst/ thread, plus tribe six is relatively soon to be introduced.
>>
SUp my homies
>>
>>35294
Can we trade in a cultural action to make a traderoute in 1 turn?
>>
>>35153
So We've decided that burning our dead is a cultural advancement and we were going to start using animal bones for crafting?
>>
>>35311
oh yeah, fair enough.

the populations look quite interesting. Ore tribe has the lowest birthrate (due to having highest population).

Can't wait till my farms and fisheries finally get build!
>>
>>35338
You can trade your cultural action for an additional tribe action, which can be used to expedite a trade route.

I will be requesting turn summaries shortly after every tribe has at least one member accounted for.

LURKERS, PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING! IT'S GREAT FUN!
>>
>>35342
Sounds wonderful for this turn, friend. Don't forget their skin!

I have a lot of cultural advancements to propose. I sure hope I get to suggest them!
>>
>>35338
If not, we could use this turns cultural action to further study spiders, couldn't we? We might idk, learn that male spider's silk isn't as sturdy as females, so we separate them and use them exclusively for their venom and breeding.
>>
>>35404
nevermind that, lets just do the trade route in one turn.
>>
Other sand tribe bros would you agree that now would be a good time to make bricks? Or should we do cactus farming?

Also our action is just breeding again?
>>
Are all my mire tribers here?
What about the tree tribers?
>>
>>35446
Here now I guess
>>
>>35446
I am, I just forgot to put my name.
>>
The people eaters aren't here it looks like
>>
>>35430
Bricks. But I think we should create a democracy while our government is still modifiable. Elections every turn, and whatnot.
>>
What'cha doin' guys?
>>
>>35503
I think that it would be hard to have a democracy with 37 people
>>
>>35446
What should we do while waiting for next turn? Also since the elder isn't here I guess you're the leader now.
>>
>>35525
Feck off. Go join the treehuggers, apparently they all left.
>>
Nomad join the tree tribe those people eaters all left
>>
>>35547
I think we should start thinking about growing our population. Maybe make fertility a bigger "thing", considering how many eggs spiders lay.
Besides that, honey could be a good thing to start cultivating. I'm sure we could trade that with some other regions.
>>
>>35588
Weren't we gonna start researching the fishing house pillate thing I proposed last thread next turn? Or does that count as a cultural action rather than a tribe one?
>>
Sup /sand/
>>
>>35639
We need to trade construction with the tree people for that, but they're not here right now.
Although honestly, it might just be easier to do it ourselves. How many actions is that gonna take Richard?
>>
>>35674
Hey, we're just waiting on the final call for our turn.
>>
>>35674
sup
also should we do cactus farming and breeding?
>>
>>35686
Probably around 3-4 to do the research and construction by yourself.

We won't be advancing the turns until a tree-person gets here so LURKERS PLS
>>
>>35694
Has the turn already been decided? I want to get the birth rate up.
>>
How do I join a tribe? Isthere a limit to how many people can be in it?
>>
>>35686
Didn't one of them agree to it last thread? Also since no tree tribal is present right now, will they skip this turn/ focus on reproduction?
>>

>>

Sand tribe is full
Don't know about the res
>>
>>35738
Aw, I was gonna join, but i was writing out my turn suggestions while i was doin' it. Anyway here's what I had.

-Let's really get into this fire business. Let's say that it's a force that's more powerful than tree and animal spirits because it had the ability to burn both of them just as well.-

-Gonna start throwing some of our sacrifices into fires whenever they pop up to make sure the fire gods don't come to kill us all for not worshiping them all this time.-
>>
>>35798
Alright.
Any vacant spot , anons?
>>
>>35778

>>
>>35780
I think Richard said there'll be a new one soon.
>>
Brush Tribe is accepting a new member!!
>>
>>35805
Welp, unfortunately, your spot got claimed.

I believe there is nobody in the Ore tribe.

>>35819
Ore Tribe.
>>
>>35805
Those sound like super happy suggestions, friend! They should totally do that!
>>
>>35167
>Cultural trait
Tree Tribe starts having "trials" for the men and women in the tribe when they turn twelve. It is a right of passage that involves eating hallucinatory plants in the jungle. After the trial the council analyzes the visions the child saw and determines what their role in society will be. It is proclaimed as a new way to speak with the ancestors and the spirits of the forest.

>Action
Start using "black fertilizer" to further gains on our agriculture. It's recycled poo and is actually very good for growing plants. Gotta stay green folks!
>>
>>35828

>>
>>35851
As long as you smile always and forever and praise the one true god!
>>
Mire tribe is gonna use both it's slot to trade wood working/chopping for fishing this turn, right?
>>
Ok so Mire tribe uses 2 action points to set up a trade route with the Tree tribe.
We get their wood construction tech, and we give them fishing nets.
>>
>>35873
i am in!

I am so happy!
>>
If there are objections then my suggestion is;
Cultural: The new moon is sprit for creativity and the noon sun is sprit for war.
Tribe: Create writing and math writing.

Sorry destroying nature with fire isn't the way of these people. Spirits are revered and consumed. Fire just destroys it does not recycle.

Sand And Ore tribe War against all other tribes. We send half of the sand people to the terriotories with all weapons and attack all religions.

Trait: Apathy
We just dont care, in war this is better we will be able to kill more people and not feel bad about it. While others are scared and crying

>>
>>36820

We have clay sandstone and Limestone.

Ore tribe might be good but if they cannot create casts for their tools than they can't really fight.

We also have pottery and pictograms, which allow us to write on monoliths and exchange information without interacting.

Also we live in the desert so good luck trying to fight us on our own turf.

The ore tribe might be powerful but they can only get so far.

If you have a trade route established, then you can perform it in one action, but if not, it takes one action to send emissaries, and then another to hammer out the peace agreement.
>>
>>37536
So if you have a trade route its just one action.
If you don't its two turns, right?

>>
>>40294
Investigating isnt a cultural trait tho...
>>
Sand tribe how about cultivating cactuses in fields scattered around the desert. And then more breeding.
>>
>>40263
Carrying on with the scholarly nomad theme, I'd suggest that we start doing some mathematical/mechanical learning. Teach children about counting etc., and give rank/prestige to those who discover new/useful concepts in the field.
>>
>>40302
yo, +1 more tree bro
>>
>>40304
Sounds good, what do you plan on doing with the harvested cacti?
>>
>>40304
Another idea would be clay pipe and cactus thorn/metal dart blowpipes for hunting/defence. If we're lucky we might even get some kind of venom from the lizards we catch at some point.
>>
>>40306
we do need more food for a larger society however need to grow our numbers.

Or we could try and do architecture constructing different land marks in the desert.
>>
I want in on Tribe Sand, will you guys take me in? I'm new and don't know how to play!
>>
>>40311
>>40304
A combination of cactus field planting and blowpipe making? Then babymaking/maths teaching focus next turn maybe?

>>
this thread has 15 players and hundreds of specs
>>

>>
tree bro one slot left for now
>>
>>40320
Yeah, I meant use either cactus thorns/metal darts depending on what the situation calls for, but obviously cactus thorns will be the main ammo, seeing as we've been collecting them since day 1, with no real purpose until now.
>Besides, ore-bros have knives and thick furs, so we between us we have melee and ranged guys to field if we get invaded by savages one day.
>>
>>40333
Mire tribe could use some help
>>
i reckon we should start a new coastal tribe

>>40337

third, cannibalism is now evolving to minimize the magnitude, to allow better diplomancy and trading

>>
>>40434
That's a shame, I liked the unsavory cannibals image. I understand the need though. Maybe our next action can have to do with the mire s diplomacy then? They seem to like us. Like mires are allowed in but they need to have a tiny bite of baby to be sanctified. They shouldn't have an issue with it, considering they dislike humans
>>
>>40446
Sorry, me and AdMIRE your initiative are the same guy. So there is still a free spot in the Mire Tribe!
>>
>>40433
Also I like the way the sand tribe is going. maybe we should get some attribute to learn from the superior education?
>>
>>40459
we are still thinking how to reduce the baby killing and cannibalism, any ideas
see >>40385
>>
>>40470
When you get better metals or gems I see no reason to not trade learning slabs to ore tribe
>>
>>40472
Well we can't exactly be undoing one of the biggest tenants of our culture, especially with no real outside influence to convince us. I say we embrace it and use or to forge a relationship with the mires.
>>
>>40472
As I said, you can't remove something that's incredibly formative to your tribe's culture. Cannibalism is an integral part of Tree Tribe culture. Baby eating could potentially be reduced with several turns of effort, but the cannibalism is there to stay.
>>
>>40470
I'm expecting great things from the Ore/Sand partnership. We seem to be developing in ways that complement each other. Not against further treaties/agreements with the ore-bros.

>>40487
i know i know, just trying on thinking how to make more presentable

>>
Alright, I'll be this then.

So like, being unhappy is like, real bad, right? So much that it's punishable by death? Then what about those who make other people unhappy, man? They should like, repent by killing themselves, or something, right? Or maybe we should only make those non believers unhappy?
>>
Is the Mire tribe full now or what?
>>
>>40498
Action: establish trading with Mire, exchange lumber for spider silk

Trait: funeral is a tribal cannibalistic event, we waste nothing, the strength and knowledge of deceased is imparted through flesh
>>
>>40524

>>
>>40534

>>
>>40516
I've come to the conclusion that the only permissible reason to kill is to prevent unhappiness, since killing people takes away from potential happiness, so killing people that make others unhappy would fall under that umbrella
>>
Ok. I don't know where the Ore adults are so I guess it's up to me?
Action: Talk about the rock splitting we have done and the best ways to do it and maybe work on some tools.
Trait: Exchanging ideas can help us grow.
>>
>>40507
>Degenerate spider fuckers allying with degenerate baby eaters
>>

If the Tree Tribe wants our fishnets, can we have their trapping technology?
I think that would fit well with our spider theme.
>>
>>40553
Sure so what should we do for our action?
>>
>>40543
I'm truly disappointed you even tried chef. I TRUSTED you. Now you are trying to force the tribe into a PR campaign it never needed.
We don't need no more. They are unclean and not of our ancestors. We don't need folks to like us, they are heathens and are way is the way of the spirits. You lack of faith is disturbing to me.
>>
>>40553
what we trading for now?
fishnet is useless for now as we not into fishing
>>
>>40546
I'm liking ore-bros way of thinking here. Potential for academic collaborations/festivals of learning in the future.
>>
>>40557
Traping skills for weaving skills

>>40556
my liege is wrath incarnation, please forgive me. Leads us with the Great Spirit Guidance
>>40562

we had traded what and what is the proposal now?
>>
>>40557
We also have clothing if you want.

>>40555
Build the houses on stilts and attach the fishing nets to it to catch more shit from the swamp.
Is that 2 actions or 1? Because if it's just one, we might want to do another cultural action as well. Something to do with string music, maybe.
>>
Whoops! Turns out that I don't have nearly as much time for this as I thought I did, and we'll have to continue this in a couple of hours. My sincerest apologies, everyone!
>>
>>40503
Yeah this as our action, go to you and teach. Are you guys alright with eating just a bit of human, to be sanctified? Ore/sand alliances is scaring me but I don't want to lose my values
>>
>>40552
Their hatred is as old as time. We cannot stop their March of war towards us but we can prepare.
We can turn our forest into a nightmare for them chef.
We need to invent tiger pits and cultivate poisonous plants. We need to focus on training our warriors on the deer. If we have soearthrowers riding deer beasts in our booby-trapped forest we will be a force of NATURE.
>>
>>40552
Hey if it's down to me I'll be looking for food next. Maybe you can just teach me how to season the babies?
>>
>>40562
You guys:
-worship monstergirls and guys
-live in what is basically nature's trash heap
-are a bunch of weavers
>>
>>40568
That is one i guess and for cultural we could do that we only kill something or someone after it is poisoned into a sleep (like spiders)
>>
>>40545
Okay, I guess that's true. But what should those who make unhappiness do to repent, though? Like, say I made someone unhappy, and that's bad... What should I do then? What the verdict be, o high priest?
>>
>>40553
>>40555
You dont listen if you dont want to. I am not in the tibe. But you could try to trade something with the Brush people and you will have two trading routes with two different groups. That way yo will have ton of power because two tribes will depend on you.
>>
>>40571
They don't need to eat human flesh Honcho. We eat human flesh to be one with our deceased and to pass on the blood of our ancestors. No one else needs to partake.
>>
>>40582
We need to research poisons first for that, otherwise we'll starve. Seems kinda inpractical.
>>
>>40572
We'll see how you baby eaters fair in the desert with your shitty deer.
>>
>>40572
my liege is a warlord.
may i suggest we improve weapons by smearing feces (increase infection), spear-making by sharp bone or obsidian, and deer rider training?
>>
and the Mire tribe, pls answer me in one voice
what we HAD traded and what is the new proposal?
>>
>>40589
Well we need some way to sanctify this potential mire tree alliance. We have disdain for outsiders. We need something to sanctify certain outsiders in our ancestors eyes
>>
>>40569
Thats ok. I can wait. How many hours more or less? Can you tell us?
>>
>>40597
Why would I? My tribe is turning this forest into an Eden for my culture. I won't go to you friend. If you want to fight it will be in MY forest with the spirits of MY people surrounding you. I will have divine Providence on my side sandcrawler
Keep your desert.
>>
>>40604
we despise other ppl, that is all and we can still trade?
>>
>>40583
I think it can be safely decided that non believers of the One True God that cause unhappiness should be killed.

It's a bit more complicated for believers, but I think we can find a solution. If someone is happy while causing unhappiness, then they are just misguided, and can potentially be set back on the path of mutual happiness by consulting with our clergy. We can talk out the issue they are causing an resolve in a way that everyone is happy.

If that is not possible, then we have no choice but to kill them. Their lives are causing unhappiness to others, and that cannot be allowed. We will cleanse them in our holy flames.
>>
>>40596
Okay so what about this:
-build a big building called 'the nest' where everyone lives
-increase our interest in poison and venom
>>
>>40601
You traded wood construction with us in exchange for fishing nets and other silk goods. See>>36161
I don't know what else you guys want, but I guess we wouldn't mind trapping technology. We might be able to teach you how to harvest and weave your own silk.
>>
>>40598
There's the Chef that I like. Where was this guy this morning??
>>40604
We do not need to integrate anyone into the family to trade. We aren't making them blood brothers. We are xenophobic, but we only have disdain for outsiders not downright hatred.
>>
>>40622
We should build the stilt houses first. But I like the poison idea. If we can use string to make bows, we could tip arrows and poison and be real dangerous.
>>
>>40610
What if we burn you degenerate baby eaters to the ground?
>>
>>40623
thx, i guess we now have silk raw materials
i dont know we have trapping tech or not as we are veg.
>>
>>40596
Yeah, lets build muy house thingies
And for cultural separate female spiders (for silk) and male spiders (for venom)
>>
>>40635
We will just build wall around the tree tribe. We can also build a bridge across the water to any where else.
>>
>>40635
Burn an entire forest? Madness. You'd destroy an entire part of the land to flush us out?
>>
save some str to think of next action and culutr
>>
>>40639
You got it pretty early on >>40639

>>40643
Ok. I think researching venom is a smart move, in case we ever get attacked.
>>
>>40633
Okay so stilt houses and poison/venom interest
>>
>>40650
We live in a desert it will create more desert.
>>
>>40639
We have snares and such. It's how we caught the deer
>>
>>40660
We will see how this war ends Sandcrawler.
>>
>>40650
It's a better tactic than running into a trap filled forest
>>
>>40673
Yeah it is..

Tree Tribe Shaman Cani is actually taken aback by your ruthlessness.
>>
>>40662
>>40657

so my suggestion:
Action: Trading with Mile, trapping tech with silk modification tech like weaving and what not as we do nothing on the piles of traded silk raw material

Culture: Spiritual-bond, the warrior caste are assigned one with each one deer as youth, they grow up, train together and finally fight together as one
>>
>>40676
Maybe we need some counter measures then. Establish lookout towers on the edgees of the forest to be safe
>>
>>40660
>>40650
We're not looking for war now. We look inward for self improvement, learning, and development. I'm not sure that terrorising the tree-dwellers is that high on our priorities right now...
Besides, Im not actually sure we have fire yet. [/spoier]
>>
no war soon, think of developing
>>
>>40686
We'll leave them alone if they leave us alone
>>
It's pretty fitting that Sand and Tree hate each other, and that Sand/Ore and Mire/Tree are allies. Personally, I'm thinking we have the advantage. You just can't beat giant soon-to-be-rideable spiders...
>>
>>40681
This sounds fantastic actually
>>40683
I like this too but we should wait a few rounds to enact it
>>
>>40691
u Mire can accept this trade in one voice?
>>
>>40691
Ore might have better knives and shit, but we have bioweapons!
If we can start cultivating mosquitoes and locusts, we can destroy any other tribe!
>>
>>40700
Yeah, sure. Hopefully this trade can evolve into somewhat of an alliance?
>>
>>40700
We accept it i guess
>>40691
Next action will be breeding bigger spiders
>>
>>40711
Btw i will be back in a hour or so
>>
>>40709
bu..but our trait despise other ppl, we can be friend but not ally, sorry. But, we can work on the common hate on Sand and Ore niggers, strike out agreement like support each other when invaded. Our stand will be like Big Brother looking after you,

>blame the trait
>>
Any empty seats for now?
>>
>>40701
Stop being so aggy. Pretty much all of Ore and Sand's efforts are on developing tech, discovering new things, and improving life for our tribes. Besides, good luck """cultivating""" mosquitos and locusts.
>>
>>40700
>>40709
>>40711

We accept it as one voice! I, the Strength of the Tribe, our Priest, the Wisdom of the Tribe, and our Whore, the Allure of our Tribe, accept the Trade!
>>
>>40729
I'm not saying we're gonna do all of those things.
But if we have to, you best prepare for the horde.

>mfw I totally gave them that trait so it would be a pain in the ass to leave the peninsula for the ore and sand tribe.

Want to expand your territory? Here is a forest full of murder-cannibals!

That was back before I new that this game would take days for us to even stumble into fire. Which I don't mind, I just thought the game was going to devolve into wanton violence two turns in because "The Entire Fucking Internet" but I was pleasantly surprised
>>
>>40746
Meta-ing

we are like 30-50 ppl, fight for what ? i think the thread is like House Creation where we create a civilization
>>
>>40735
Fair enough I suppose. I can't speak for all of my tribe, but I have no interest on wasting people invading another region that we're not well suited to. Much more prosperous to share knowledge in a mutually beneficial fashion, as we have done with Ore, and save violence for those who won't leave us alone/interact in a peaceful fashion.
>>
>>40727
Go to Brush or Ore. Those need some active people.
>>
>>40750 >>40746
Meta

Weirdly, although there's still plenty of slurs and name-calling, I think the original three have all lost interest in wanton murder and destruction as they've invested more into their own society.

As >>40750 said, we're more into creating civilisation than knocking each other's primitive houses with primitive weapons at the moment.

>I'm not sure where Mire and Brush stand yet.
>Tree tribe have gone from crazy, bigoted, hippy-cannibals to a tribe that is building an interesting culture, with some promising tech, and just happen to eat their dead. The xenophobia makes it so much more difficult to have trade relations, etc. though :-(
>>
>>40774
Honestly I'm not interested in any sand trade. Grave insults were done to us by you, and it is not easily forgiven. I do not want war though
>>
>>40779
Grave insults that were OOC. Have you guys even met yet? You're somewhat close, but your lands are so different that it's difficult for one to traverse the other.

>>40779
i share your anger, at the final final showdown, we would have our revenge
>>
>>40782
I suppose this is true. I'll ooc2dislikw them tho :p
>>
I think getting some honey production going seems like a really good idea. I'm sure something sweet would make the Brush tribe real happy. They might even trades us the secret of their red flower.
>>

Good luck, you eat half of your young and live in a highly flammable forest. Oh, and your only kind of ally are a bunch of spooky spider people
>>
>>40779 >>40782
Jeez guys, this is what I mean. Our tribes haven't even made contact.
>Using OOC interactions and memes to justify your plans for genocide.

ISHYGDDT
>>
>>40797
Unlike pathetic flimsy sand people, half our young aren't weak, most are born strong, with the power of their ancestors endowed within them
>>
You ore guys would be pretty sizable folks since you're laboring with rock all day
All that dust isn't very healthy, so you should look into putting on some masks
>>
>>40828
You mean the tiny rocks that go into our bodies? They are good. It makes a man more moral. I think we should try to get out of the sun. That's the real bad guy here.
>>
>>40836
I can support that.
Who wants to ally to unite and destroy the sun? It dries up our swamp and sends all the more interesting creepy-crawlies scurrying for darkness. Follow our insect overlords, and plunge this world in darkness, as it should be!
>>
>>40813
You're a bunch of baby eating savages, us sand people seek knowlege that can be used to aid our fellow man.
>>
>>40808
What do we stand to gain from baby eating savages? Ore bros can share their knowledge of metals and rock, the Mires can share their knowledge of insects and silk but the treefolk have nothing.
>>
>>40940
We will NOT trade with you filthy sand niggers
>>
>>40795
Sounds good, our next action should be taming insects like bees and bigger spiders, then we will have poison, silk and honey
>>
>>40950
Why the hostility? Our quarrel is with the Tree folk, not you.
>>
>>40836
So coughing up blood is good then yes? replace your body with rocks

HAIL THE ARACHNID OVERLORDS
>>
>>41023
I'm around. Not much to do without OP.
>>
>>40795
If we keep investing in selective breeding and working of spiders, we could eventually branch out to other insectos/arachnids, so honey is a possibility
Inventing the wheel might help us expand our silk industry.
Also using our next tribe action in further expanding diplomatic actions w/ tres savages seems like a good idea, we might need writing for that
>>
>>41008
They can always make glass if they learn fire from the orefags
Then find out how to build catapults and litter the forests with glass
>>
>>41023
I'm here sand bro. It is annoying to type with a phone.
>>
>>41023
I'm still around. Tried to have a discussion with the Tree guys, but that turned out to be a mistake. They're just perma-hostile.

>Tfw Tree and Mire have no interest in working in harmony to make a better world.

At least Ore are reliably bro-tier. Holding out hope that Brush will learn the merits of spreading happiness peacefully, and we can cheerfully discuss the merits of warm stuff like desert/sun (Sandfolk), fire/molten metal (Orefolk), and wildfire/sun (Brushfolk).
>>
>>41058
>>41089
Why if we make a magnifying glass with sand. And then use reflective copper plates to create a giant death laser and aim it at the tree tribe.
>>
>>41101
What's our next course of action? I suggest building a wall around our land to prevent the savages from attacking
>>
>>41074
Inventing the wheel is something we can do later, i say we invent the bow and arrow since we dont have any good weapons yet, then after we do that we can start breeding spiders and other insects, we can also choose to make small boats which will help us alot, think about the swamp, discovering new islands and making harbours.
>>
>>41114
muh technology
>>
>>41102
Reliable on 4chan?
I'm some new guy running the show now and I don't know how long I'll be here.
>>
>>41114
I was thinking that, we can sit behind a strong stone wall and rein fiery death upon our enemies, that way the brush tribe will most likely favour us as they worship wild fires
>>
>>41117
I suggest working on basic architecture first. Making arches and buildings that withstand sand storms. And shifting stands of the desert.
>>
>>41129
Yeah, then build a strong wall that can withstand the desert and savages
>>
>>41121
I agree, lets use next turbs cultural action in more spider studying, and tribe i either bulding a port for boats around our port houses, or in crafting more skill products, like weapons or armors
>>
I am getting anxious. Anyone knows of any other good quest in /qst/ so I can be distracted while waiting for Richard?
>>
>>41127
Ore bro how about trading fire for the learning pictogram tablets. That way we both get a benefit.
>>
>>41150
Just keep thinking bout ideas for your tribe
>>
>>41114 >>41117

We're still waiting for operation cactus farm and blowpipes to kick off, but when OP gets back and sorts that out for us:

>Glass would be cool, I think it would be a very valid way for us to join Ore-bros and Brush in the joys of fire. I don't think we should fuck up the Tree guys forest though, they've only mouthed off at us online, we've not had any interactions with them at all yet. We'll probably need to borrow Ore's fire skills, and make it a joint project though.
>Going from clay to bricks sounds pretty wise, but might require fire, so either the glass route first or another joint project with Ore (I'm sure with their knowledge of rocks and metals and our clay, sandstone, and sun-baking we could make some dope building materials, first steps towards an Ore/Sand fort?
>Population increase also sounds like a good idea.
>I think lizard herding/farming could be promising? Lizard skins, poisons, easier food production.
>Seeing as Trees are so determined to be aggy, I think we should enter into a mutual defence treaty with Ore, so that if either of us are invaded we both pitch in with the defence. Make it clear that this doesn't count if either of us decide to INITIATE the conflict though.
>>
>>41150
The Shadowrun quest was sick, jump in on that when the next chapter starts up.
>>
>>41158
I figure if I get the learning from others trait then I'll learn from you guys just from having the trade we have sooner or later. Same thing for you really. You guys are a tribe of teachers. I'm sure you will notice how we make fire from the trades eventually.
It's not that I don't like that trade. I just don't think it's worth a turn.
>>
>>41189
I can understand that.
>>
>>41163
I dont have a tribe yet. I will probably jump into the new one
>>41185
oh, thanks. I will check that out.
>>
I really don't understand why Sand tribe feels the need to write shit down.
You're only with like 40 people and every turn is only 1 year, you can just tell you're tribemembers about sutff. How long are you planning on playing this quest?
>>
Mire tribe future actions:
-make stilt houses, this way we have better homes and we increase our woodworking skills
-make bow and arrows, with the woodworking skills and the silk we can easily make bows and arrows
-make small boats for fishing, trade and discovering
Future cultural traits:
-increase interest in poison and venom
-teach our children everything to know and how to swim
-paint ourselves in the colours of the mire and the great spiders
>thoughts?
>>
>>41189
Yeah valid point, apart from anything, half the advantage of an alliance is that we can benefit from both tribes strengths.
>>
>>41208
cool bonanzos
>>
>>41207
Why do the mire tribe feel the need to worship spiders?
>>
>>41178
You should take into account that tree has us cut off from the rest of the map. It's going to be a problem.
>>
>>41208
We might need to trade flint with the ore tribe for arrowheads though.
Apart from that it sounds pretty good. I'd also add making honey to that, and maybe use the silk to make string instruments.
>>
>>41217
Because they're obviously the most superior creature on this world.
>>
>>41218
We will build a bridge to the volcano island and then to the other land.
>>
>>41226
Because knowledge is the most superior thing on the planet. The pursuit of knowledge is worship in itself.
>>
>>41229
Do you realise how fking big that distance is?
>>
>>41207
To be fair, it's a really valid point. I can imagine the number of years per turn increasing at some point though, and its just generally a prudent way to stop knowledge getting lost with deaths. It also just lends to the whole scholar theme of Sand tribe, end helped us take more advanced educational traits since. It's also a good way to share knowledge with friendly tribes... If we could just convince more tribes to be friendly. :^)
>>
>>41229
>this is what Sand tribers actually think
What are you gonna make the bridge out of? Sand?
>>
>>35368
Can we join a team under a name, or do we simply submit our opinions as an anon?
>>
>>41239
No out of bricks you spider fucker.
>>
>>41239
Sandstone or rock from ore bros
>>
>>41254
Go make some more ashtrays before you hurt yourself ok ;^)
>>
>>41261
Thanks for the idea the brush tribe could benefit greatly from ash trays.
>>
>>41246
OP has asked us to organize ourselves into teams with leaders. There's an open spot in ore with me and I think bush. There will probably also be a new tribe next turn.
>>
>>41218
Sure, but hopefully by the time we've developed significantly enough to worry about being confined to our end of the map the tree guys will have calmed the fuck down and be willing to negotiate letting us cross their land. If not, we use clay/metal skills to make some boats, and go exploring.

Besides, I'm not saying that we COULDN'T agree to go to war together, I think it should just be something we'd have to agree upon at the time, if it became necessary, rather than having either of us at risked of being dragged into conflict because some tribe members get bored.
>>
>>41229
It'll be a better idea to build boats over to the island
>>
>>41277
Boats made out of what? Cacti? Copper? Brick?
>>
Could someone post the map?
>>
>>41284
We'll cacti are water proof so I don't see why not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ?
>>
>>41299
>>35294
>>
>>41284
Clay boats are actually viable. Has been done in the real world. Metal boats are also viable, as long as you displace sufficient water with the boat size/shape. Come on Mire, stop being so negative.
>>
>>41309
Thanks bucko.
>>41301
Cactus is made of water, no? Wouldn't it sink?
>>
>>41312
I will only stop being so negative in the hope that one of those happy ass stoners will befriend us, talking bout brush people; are there any left?
>>
>>41301
In fact, large cacti contain wood under the spiny and waxy layers... Wooden frame coated in waterproof waxy material sounds very viable. Thanks >>41284 Mirebro!
>>
>>41315
Cactus are water resistant so they don't shrivel up and die in the desert.
>>
>>41323
Yeah, I can't tell if they're gone, or just busy getting high/being happy. They have potential to be cool, as long as they don't start forcing their "kill the unhappy" views on other tribes.
>>
>>41323
Just lurking, friend!
>>
>>41301
Cactus wood, the little that exists, comes with holes in it. Maybe if you made some weird cacti/clay stuff with watertight finish or if this world, that is not earth, has special cacti, it will work, but I'm not confident in that plan.
>>
how many hr has passed since OP gtg?
>>
>>41352
We could always make ceramics using the cactus wax finish and build preserving jars with it.
>>
>>41352
Most wood is porous, I know cactus wood is especially so, but coating it with the clay and/or waxy cactus skin is definitely viable after a turn of experimenting.
>>
I just realized we can use the silk cloth to make sails.
Like the mighty Diving bell spider, Mire tribe shall become masters of the sea!
>>
>>41363
Exactly 3 hours right now.
>>
>>41380
Lets just invest every action in mastering the 2 seas mwuahahah
>>
>>41352
We could use Cactus wood for things like furniture and handles to tools, we can't use it for boats because its full of holes
>>
>>41208
Se should focus on the wheel, so we can properly spin our silk and create better clothes and armor. Let's not plan too far ahead yet, we still havent even built the houses, and we decided that yesterday
>>
>>41431
You got a point, the future can wait the present is now
>>
>>41431
It was a joke but i think we should build the houses first and after we've done that we can choose for bow and arrows, boats, breeding spiders and maybe wheels but i dont see how this could make our silk that much better for now
>>
>>41431
And if you're apart of the mire tribe could you give yourself a name with mire in it
>>
>>41458
Silk works just like wool or yarn, it needs to be spinned in order to be able to craft bette/more detailed goods with it. We need wheel for the sails, the bow, armor, etc... Lets do what we already planned for this turn and research wheel next
>>
>>41489
Okay you convinced but should we really build those houses? And please give yourself a mire tribe name

Tribe #6

The Grasslands Tribe.

Claiming can begin immediately.

>>41781
Will be coming shortly after the Grasslands Tribe's culture sheet.
>>
>>41781
This would be appreciated, yes.
>>
>>41724
Okay Ore kid, we need to plot the next turn. I'm think we pick up the learn from others thing you suggested, it sounded useful. For action, I submit we attempt to make bronze, as we can totally melt tin with our campfire and bronze is better than copper

Tree Tribe: 40 people. (2 incidental births per year)
Mire Tribe: 34 people. (1 incidental birth per year)
Brush Tribe: 16 people. (1 incidental birth per year)
Grasslands Tribe: 25 people. (1 incidental birth per year)

Current Trading Routes
Ore Tribe & Sand Tribe: Ore Tribe receives Pottery and Clay Tablets, Sand Tribe receives Copper Bells and Rudimentary Copper Tools.
Tree Tribe & Mire Tribe: Tree Tribe receives Silken Fishing Nets, Mire Tribe receives Wood & Bark.
>>
>>41810
Look, the invasion of the forest for booze worthy berries is high on the priority list because dorf but I think bronze is better for time being
>>
>>41745
This isn't a priority, but I think the ore children find the most should also help determine their role in the tribe later in life. Blue ore makes you a fisherman, Red ore makes you a hunter or warrior, etc. People who find the most of one particular ore become shamans that act as leaders for that role.

YOU BE SAYIN' WE WUZ KANGS?
>>
Ok, I think we should make sailboats next and try to get to the island.
Either that, or make honey.
>>
>>41799
As a culture trait I say women who also perform relgious ceremonies also practice healing injured warriors
>>
Am I the only seated member of our joyous tribe?
>>
>>41791
>>41799
>>41804
Lets discuss our next move my friend. I am thinking about two things: Lets be a startan like culture. Lets be also inteligent like the sand people, I mean like in the second or third turn lets develop writing and stuff. This will helps us to not be only muscles, but also brain. Grass People will be unstopable!
Culture: we train our children since birth in the art of fighting.
Action: Lets develop more tools, not only for fighting, but also for crafting, specially rocks and wood
>>
>>41823
Cactus nectar is an excellent alcohol.
>>
>>41833
To clarify on the insect things, the mire tribe have the sort of insects you would expect to see in a wooded area, damp swamp, or otherwise. Centipedes, ants, wasps, beetles, etc.

The grasslands tribe has those that you'd expect from an idyllic rolling plains, aka, bees and ladybugs and shiet.
>>
So what now Sandbros? I say we look for a reliable food source
>>
>>41833
Do we have wood to make those? I don't know if a boat of pumice will work.
>>
>>41837
Now that I think about it yours is pretty important. We could do yours now or do mine now and make yours in the next one
>>
>>41845
Drunken orgy to increase population?
>>
>>41833
Sailboats is a little out of our reach, no? Unless we plan to upheave our whole tribe and move to the island, there is no point to this. I suggest we~
1. Learn how to cook and prepare insects. By eating them, perhaps we can become more worthy?
2. Perhaps our culture should emphasize the honor of being eaten by insects, and the dishonor of dying outside of the swamp, for that means the insects cannot devour you!
>>
>>41846
Ah, ok. So we'll need to trade bees.
Then I'm thinking we use the spider silk to make better bandages and trade those with the Grass tribe.
We definitely want to keep those guys on our good side.

>>41852
The Tree tribe gives us wood, yes.
>>
spider tribe should learn wood-weaving techniques from their interaction with the tree tribe and start making insect-inspired armor. They seek to be tough yet fashionable like the bugs they admire. By adopting more and more insect attributes they grow stronger and closer to the superior form.
>>
>>41824
I don't really see the point in this. I'd rather dismantle the weird rock spirit religion we have than make our people backwards and luck based.
>>
>>41839
I'd be happy to join for a bit.
>>
>>41843
better than tool we should develop spears for hunting
>>
>>41854
>>41843
Aye my king, I support both your actions! However, I say we should start with healing first, so as to gain an early population growth increase
>>
>>41860
Sorry, I replied to the wrong tribe.
I don't know why I thought you were an orebro
>>
>>41850
Domesticating lizards
>>
>>41857
I don't know if we should eat insects, considering they're our superiors. I suppose spiders do it as well though.
We might need to "downgrade" the importance of insects over spiders first.

>>41864
This can work. Spider silk is actually really durable, and we already know how to make clothing out of it.
>>
>>41870
I was thinking tools because we could start making strong houses for protection. We are warriors and fighting is not all about ofensive.
>>
>>41877
Good idea, use them for their meat and make armour out if their hardened hides
>>
>>41655
I'd be happy to help implement this fellows idea for our culture, so long as the Sun wills it, of course.
>>
There an opening in the Mire tribe?
>>
>>41882
No eating insects we have enough fish and other shit to survive, we need to make small wooden boats to make contact with the plaintribe, we need them bees, as for cultural; i like the idea of dying in the swamp, if you die outside your family has to bring your corps to the mire
>>
>>41871
I would totally Be down for trading bricks for medicinal knowledge. If the grass tribe wants to cooperate with us.
>>
>>41865
Why would we want a luck based religion? Druidism is way better!
>>
>>41868
Wonderful! What ideas do you have for our tribe?

I was thinking of including >>40621 as our cultural development.
>>
>>41897
Nah, sorry.
>>
>>41871
Yes. I think so too. But I think we can do this:
Culture: Since birth childs are trained, boys in the art of fighting and girls in healing.
Action:Start to develop more tools/ start to develop more weapons
>>
>>41877
>Lizard herding/farming for meat/skins/poison
AND
>Celebrate and encourage reproduction as a new opportunity for sharing knowledge and the creation of new minds with new ideas?
>>
>>41888
But with hunt we can get hides and make tents.
>>
>>41900
How would you go there?
>>
>>41906
Can a tribe even trade with one that their lands don't reach?
>>
>>41908
F-FINE!
>>
>>41914
Nice, that's why you're the king, I support this.
>>
>>41900
This would be great, but unfortunately we have no way to communicate with Grass bros.
>>
>>41922
If they're allowed to go through the lands inbetween, probably.
Or if you build boats.
>>
Are there any openings in any tribe?
>>
>>41915
I'm for this
>>
>>41894
>>41839
I disagree completely with this idea joyous brothers, how can you call yourself a member of the brush tribe boasting your disgusting smile, facial or masked, along with the moon while sleeping at night?

We should all spend the night of the full moon crying and screaming and slaughtering as protest against its revolting audacity, to think that fucking moon could ever hope to achieve half the lightness and divinity of our glorious sun!
>>
>>41914
I`m ok with that.
>>
So for the Mire, our consensus is.

1)Build Wooden Canoes to make travel over the Swamp easier
OR
2)Make Wooden insect-themed armor to aid in hunting and fighting

And

1)Hail the superiority of Spiders over Other Insects
OR
2)Establish the importance of dying in the swamp.

I favor both 1 options for the two choices.
>>
>>41864
any trees have an opinion on what next? nothing is coming to mind
>>
>>41900
Next turn maybe. Now we are more akin to develop our own independent things
>>41916
Okey, we make weapons first and hunt with them!.
Culture:Since birth childs are trained, boys in the art of fighting and girls in healing.
Action: we start to develop more weapons and hunt with them.
>>
>>41935
Okay what should our next action be? The wheel thing for better silk or just boats
>>
>>41939
>>41916
Let's go hunting next, after we develop proper tools
>>
>>41938
We are ever protected by the light of our fires, friend. No need to get angry in the night. Just to sleep our happy peaceful sleep.
>>
>>41938
It certainly follows that the absence of The Sun makes us slightly less happy than normal. What if we implemented the earlier idea that we wear happy masks while the sun is down? Then none may see our less than optimal happiness. If we scream and curse, then the moon wins. I would spite the moon, my happy friend.
>>
>>41959
We need wheel in order to spin the silk for the sails
>>
>>41928
What are the requirements for communications? Proximity?
>>
>>41947
Oh didnt see your post i say 1 and 2
Next turn we really should make bows cuz how are we gonna kill people from out boats without ranged weapons?
>>
>>41968
>>41959
>>41947
Wait we have 4 Mire tribers now, this isn't fair.
>>
>>41968
>>41960
Ok, so make a wooden wheel will be our 1 action. For cultural, shall we hail the superiority of Spiders?
>>
>>41960
Mmh. So what do you think it is best my loyal conselor? Weapons or tools?
>>
>>41981
Ok with this. With a wheel we can make more stuff.
>>
>>41970
For every tribe land in between you and the tribe you're attempting to communicate with, it takes one tribe action to send an emissary. (one tribe action for direct proximity, two for a tribe with one neighbor between, etc).

If your tribes are hostile, your tribes member may be captured, causing cultural contamination, or killed, causing death.

If your tribes are not hostile, it's possible an emissary may defect and join another tribe, causing a cultural contamination.
>>
>>41968
Also bug armor seems like a good idea, since spider silk is as strong as kevlar. We can use our refined spinned silk for it
>>
>>41915
I like this as an idea maybe use cactus nectar as a ritual of promoting new ideas. I think we should also work on mathematics, but we can save that for next turn.
>>
>>41989
Mire Peasant, as our newest member, and the 4th of 3, you are exiled from the Tribe.
I hope this won't mean any hard feelings? You are welcome to join an adjacent tribe!
>>
>>41965
I suggest that we take my earlier cultural idea for our cultural action, then make the masks as our other action. How does that sound, friend?
>>
>>41963
>>41965
I am sorry for seeming frustrated, my beautiful friends, the thought of the moon boastfully showing itself got to me more than I thought it would.

I agree we should wear our happy masks to hide our sadness during the dark night, for it cannot be a cardinal sin to be sad in the absence of our incandescent God as it is a cardinal sin to be sad in His presence.

However, I still believe to stand by during full moon and let It do as it does without acting is even, dare I say, disrespectful towards our incandescent God. We should at the very least start a Great Fire, if not to honor Him than to mend our hearts during the darkest of times.
>>
>>41987
Cool, thanks Richard
>Implying mighty Plains warrior would defect to 420 tribe

>>41983
Anything is a weapon in the hands of our mighty warriors, let us develop tools.
>>
>>41989
Okay mire peeps we have to do the wheel thing otherwise we cant make shit
>>
One day while brawling around a fire pit I discover that the smoke has made the bees calm down. I take some honey and apply it to my wounds. Our tribe begins to farm honey for its use as a food stuff and medical resource.
>>
>>41991
Yeah, cactus-drunken philosophy and mathematics sound like solid moves for future turns.
>>
>>41938
My most joyous brother, I feel you are quick to forget, we needn't even give the moon the pleasure of our audience. Is it not the greatest insult of all to remove ourselves from our bodies in the form of sleep while the moon hangs?
>>
>>41991
I'm thinking if we start researching maths and engineering and if Ore bros research advanced metal working we could create some ridiculous weapons, clockwork stuff using gears
>>
>>41865
I understand. I wanted to create a more organized tribal government in a way that goes in line with our religion.
>>
>>42014
So we make a wheelto spin silk.
And the we make armor? Or do we want to do something cultural?
>>
>>42010
To do as you suggest would cause me no small amount of happiness.
>>42011
Would that we could do multiple actions per turn, happy friend. I would gladly help you build your great bonfire to The Sun on our next turn.
>>
>>41865
Do not insult the spirits, muh blessings.
>>
>>42031
Cultural. We establish that Spiders>Other bugs
>>
>>42012
Lets do this: Create tools to work on wood and rock, use the tools also as weapons to hunt. Is that right?
>>
>>42012
>> 41983
weapons are better . we need more materials like hide and the only tool made of wood i can imagine are for agriculture.
>>
>>42032
(OOC) that's my vote, be back in like 30 minutes.
>>
>>42031
Um armor i guess, we already have a lot of cultural things and i cant think of any more
>>
>>42023
Nah I say we keep the spirits, they are way cooler! And that idea is awesome actually, we should implement it soon
>>
>>42019
>>42022
I also think we should promote knowledge as the ultimate way of life. No matter where you travel or who you align yourself with return to the monoliths to place your knowledge. The body may be mortal but ideas are not.
>>
>>42041
We can make tools to work with stone. And eventually we use those tools to make better stone weapons. Is that right for you? Also we can always use those tools as weapons to hunt
>>
>>42023
Government for a tribe of 50? I guess it couldn't hurt down the road, but maybe we should focus on getting our numbers up first.

Everything is full of spirits and spirits are different so maybe we can figure a good system of judging someones spirit. Like those that find the best rocks are blessed with rock finding spirits.
>>
>>42053
Yeah, we preserve knowledge on the stone tablets and everyone must share newfound technology
>>
>>42037
>>42047
Which one is it going to be guys?
We can do the other next turn too I guess, although I'd like to get a headstart on allying with the Grass tribe, since they seem pretty dangerous. Making and trading armor would definitely help more with that.
>>
>>42056
ok
>>
>>42017
That's a good train of thought, but I think we're already harvesting honey from bees

>>42040
>>42041
Let's go weapons, and go for hunting next, because that could give us to bone tools!
>>
>>42010
>>42043
Same.
>>
>>42067
I think we already established that in kids who find the most ore become shamans
>>
>>42070
Fine. I vote Armor.
>>
Trait: Shamans start to more closely examine patterns and movements in the night sky, and use it to predict tidal movements that are recorded with the tablets from the sand tribe. Gathering seafood is now more efficient.
>>
Finalize your ideas, friends, turn 10 begins in thread 3, since we're nearing the autosage limit.
>>
>>42068
Also how about erecting monoliths on our border for people to to write on.
>>
>>42056
We got to think that if we do this, for the next turn we are going to have the best houses of all. We got the best attack AND defence.
>>42074
Great! So we agree this is like this
Culture: since birth our childs are trained for boys in the art of fighting and for girls in healing
Action: we make better tools to harvest rock and wood. We also use this for hunting
>>
>>42086
My vote this turn is learning from others and fishing.
>>
>>42100
You gotta be careful about researching the moon too much. The Brush tribe might not like it.
>>
>>42001
Asshole ive been here before you
>>
>>42111
Hail to the king
>>
>>42101
2 actions: Make a wooden spinning wheel, and then use that to make spider silk armor.

>>42116
That is true actually.
>>
>>42100
I want to pick up learning from others to try and collect knowledge from sandbros.
We will need that though for when we get to boating

>>42101
I'm going with the above culture, and for action try and get bronze
>>
>>42115
What are they gonna do? Burn our rocks?
>>
So sand tribe what should we do for our actions?
>>
>>42116
Ok well I haven't seen you since I joined, so I assumed you had joined after me, no need to be rude you prude.

I guess I'll mosey on over to the Brush Tribe, then, I think they aren't full?
>>
>>42022
>>42053
Tfw too many ideas, not enough actions...

Did we decide on encouraging reproduction and lizard farming for skins/poisons/meat for this turn? Or are we still trying to choose between all these options? I still think those two should be prioritised for now (passive birth rate boost yes pls) but I'm open to discussion.
>>
>>42125
This
>>
>>42128
Or the bronze. I forgot.
>>
>>42116
Im srry i recruted that other guy cuz i was alone
>>
>>42146
I think Lizard farming and Reproduction boost is the priority now
>>
>>42145
I'm sorry friend, we have also reached our limit.
>>
Action) Make bows out of human body parts (bones, tendons, e.tc.) Can be used for hunting, defense, and in the future by mounted riders

Culture) Building on the polytheism, we have weekly sex festival. It's like Jewish Shabat, except it's a huge orgy, along with prayers. It is made to help transition the Nature Spirits into new life, and should increase our population.

No tree people to contest this, but if someone wants to real quick become one cuz they have a good idea, I'm all ears.

The cultural trait:
Deer beasts are equal to the tribe and considered family, during communal meals of human flesh some of the meat is mixed into the deers feed

SHEY SHALL FEAST ON MAN MEAT
Gotta stay green.

>>
>>42422
Oh, shit, I already did the orgy thing, sorry. Way too lazy to turn it back.

TURN 10 IS COMPLETED. Now, we must wait for the original thread to fall off before we can begin thread free. Consider this an intermission, feel free to get some snacks, take a shit, and please make so many dank memes and fan art.
>>
>>42420
I was wrong cactus nectar is not alcoholic but we can ferment its juice. However Peyote is derived from cactus's.
>>
>>42424
I can work with that. Do you want to try and sail to the island already, or should we wait?
>>
>>42424
We could spend our next turn in more spider studying, learning how some of them can float in the water and even sail across the sea (https://www.theguardian.com/science/animal-magic/2015/jul/03/spiders-sail-disperse-water), allowing us to skip the canoe part of boats and jumping straight to sails n shit

It's fine, can I just have that be my action for the next turn then puhleez?

Post it in this thread, I don't actually think there's a duplicate issue here unless it's inter-thread.

I've never participated in/ followed a quest thread before.

This is pretty cool, even just watching.
I'll hop on soon

So I was snooping this thread all day and that Mire Whore came up with some good ideas for what Mire could really do with the right technology

Alas, the largest spiders that the Mire have crawling around are about the size of their heads, since this is a minimal/low fantasy world (unrealism of the system aside).

But they still have big freaking spiders, ngl senpai.
>>
Never forget Wyatt Khan mire bros, win this for me

Oooohh thats me, such cool art may the spiders be with you my friend
>>
>>42466
I was thinking of first learning how they work and imitating it on big ass boats, then TURNING OUR SPIDERS INTO WARSHIPS
>>
>>42505
How in the hell would a group of people taht consider themselves inferior to spiders tame giant ones?

Wouldn't they all just let themselves be devoured?
>>
>>42527
Cat sized spiders are fucking horrendous as is.
>>
>>42528
So the legends are true, i will make you proud khan, may the spiders lead you to the nest
>>
>>42536
It's the spider that tame the rider to gain range attack.

Btw are the original Mire guys still lurking/active?

Berry: God of War
Violet: Godness of Fertility
Grass: God of Death
Sunflower: God of knowledge
Rose: Godness of health
Is this right?
>>
>>42535
Yeah, and Water Striders are definitely a swamp bug.

>>42556
I am.
>>
To make things clear; the mire gives home to cat-sized spiders and smaller, but we will breed them to grow bigger:)
>>
>>42553
That implies a highly disturbing amount of intelligence on the spiders' part.
>>
>>42566
Ayy
>>
>>42562
I like these ones
especially because rose and honey can act as a sanitary poultice
>>
>>42562
Grass should be the god of the beasts.
>>
Somebody needs to make some more threads and push the old one off
>>
>>42608
from grass to grass, brother
>>
So while we wait for this thread to die, what are people general plans? I mean like what are you do you want your tribe to do and stuff.

Personally Im pushing for a good and proper Dwarven Civilization, highly cultured, with Boats for exploring
>>
>>42608
I like God of Death better. It sounds more important. But I was thinking that maybe we need a god of hunting. Maybe we can make different gods with various responsabilities? Like a god of death and hunting or something like that.
>>42625
Sorry dude, but grass is full. Maybe Ore or Tree need more people.
>>
>>42556

>>42633

>>
>>42633
I think I am the least qualified person to answer that, but I'm going to do it anyway and say that eating your people should be high on our list.
>>
>>42633
I'm thinking we use our poisons and silk for good, and create the best medicine of all the tribes.
Also fashion and sailboats for exploring.
>>
>>42633
As a dwarf fortress fan I can get behind that. I think industry and coins are also important. I think we should be going for numbers soon too. People want war on 4chan.
>>
>>42639
Berry god of war and beasts
since animals are associated with berries

Combine some other ones, mayne make grass God of fertility and death
>>
>>42655
I think tree tribe should focus on hide-tanning to maximize reusage
We could tan both human skin and the hides of slain spirits.
Slaying formidable enemies and wearing their skin should embue the wearer with their powers.
>>
Berry: God of War and protector of our tribe
Violet: Godness of Fertility and Hunt
Grass: God of Death and Beasts
Sunflower: God of Knowledge and Education
Rose: Godness of Health and Honey
Is this right now?
>>
>>42633
I'm trying to turn the forest into an Eldritch nightmare full of traps and cannibals riding Deer-beasts fattened up on man-flesh.

And it's all sand and ore tribes fault. Seriously. You just couldn't leave the spiritual cannibals alone now could you?
>>
>>42639
>>42675
ok since we are grass soon or latter we need horses
>>
>>42657
I say we first invent bow and arrows and/or boats (if one we will start investigating spider species)
Then we imitate the sailing spiders by making surf boards and kites for water travel, and we start breeding bigger mounts, then we start an alliance with the grass king and his tribe to make honey
>>
>>42633

Berry god of war and beasts
since animals are associated with berries

>>
>>42707
Pretty sure that was the whole reason you wanted animals
>>
>>42710
Nice.
>>
>>42701
You're really set on the "giant spider" idea huh?
Alright, but I think that's gonna take quite a few turns before it'll get done.
>>
>>42680
I also think we should create a rudimentary language soon. Maybe something simple involving notches carved into bark to organize the forest and identify areas where poisonous/helpful plants grow. I've been trying to make cultivating the forest a secondary objective for the tree tribe.
>>
>>42739
How about exchanging language for plant knowledge?
>>
>>42717
I prefer keeping the god of war as the most important, so it can only have one "element". But I dont know what the other guys in the tribe say
>>
>>42727
Nooooooo....
>>
>>42739
I think we should create leather then start using dyes to paint on the leather and make tatoos. That could evolve into writing.
>>
>>
>>42737
I think spiders have enlightened our kind, and that if it wasn't for them we would be long gone. However we must accept the fact that giant spiders are not coming anytime soon, and that we can only honour them by creating medicine and giant boats, that's what they would want us to do.
>>
>>42756
>this
>>
>>42755
I could dig that. I'll change from the Token Minority to the Tattoo Artist.
>>
Apparently Ash is good for farming, we should capitalize on that and prosper through our farming, probably also trade our produce with our sandbros as trade for their alcohol.

Ash would also make for a good currency in our tribe, and spreading ash on each other (ash is also good for hygiene) would be seen as a joyful happy gesture.

Additionally, we must also think of not only the physical fire in the sky as our God but also the fire that is the soul.
To birth life is a form of making a bonfire in itself, greater than even the greatest fire we could make, therefore we should extremely encourage reproduction.
>>
Seriously though, we could be here for hours waiting for that thread to fall off, this board is so damn slow
>>
>>42756
>>42769
You know jack shit about our great civilization you sand brains
>>
>>42756
Wrong colour ground there, sand tribe lives in the desert.
>>
>>42746
Nah we don't need you heathens knowing what we are talking about, we need our own language
>>42755
Leather is going to take a few turns, then discovering natural ink is going to take a turn, then it'll be language next. Minimum four turns for that route.
However if we begin etching on tree bark it'll be one turn to start developing language, then we can have our action become experimenting with leather working.
It's more efficient and frees up a couple actions.
>>
>>42777
All things to consider, friend.
>>
>>42710
You should also create a tribe relations chart:
>Bro tier Ore tribe, we have a healthy and happy trade system with
>Friendly pot tribe, we can trade alcohol and peyote with and we both have an affinity for fire
>Savage, baby eating, froest dwelling degenerates. A backwards tribe that needs threatens our way of life
>Spider fuckers, could help us advance technology but they're too busy helping the savages
>Grass tribe, we don't know much about them
>>
>>42770
>>42755
Right on. I'll be Tree Hideworker. Time to make some dank leathers with dank art on em. Our culture will be one of love, art, and valuable leather armor.
>>
Richard, could we breed spiders that are big enough for people to mount, and if so, how many actions would that take?

Also, how about we try to catch some fireflies and gift them to the Brush tribe. Surely they'd like those, right?
>>
>>42806
Not until very very late in the game.
>>
>>42805
>>42770
Refer to
>>42799
>>
>>42814
It would take hundreds of years of selective breeding, but it would be possible.
>>
>>42814
-thankmotherfuckinggod-
>>
>>42767
Okay i guess you're right.
Invent small boats
Investigate sailling spiders and recreate kites and put them on boats
Start breeding spiders (will take a long time -5/6 years- but we will benefit)
Start trading routes with grass tribe
Start investigating that red island and colonies it maybe?
These are u just FUTURE plans pls r8
>>
>>42752
How true, my King, how dare I disgrace the great Berry with shitty animals
>>
>>42817
Fine, tree art it is. Using tree carvings to tell stories can inspire us to make more art via tatoos, and it would inspire a written language.
Creating leather can come after language crafting.
>>
Richard quick question, will there be random events? Like natural disasters, finding hidden things, hidden features, etc.

For example if there was a blood god and a tribe sacrificed a large quantity of people, could they receive a gift of some kind?
>>
>>42858
If we invest one of our cultural slots into spider research, we should be able to skip the shit canoe phase and start in the sail one, right richard?
>>
>>42836
>Dog sized domesticated spiders
>Travel in clutters, not unlike wolves
>c o n s u m e

Is there a slot open for spider fucker tribe?
>>
Spiderfag genocide WHEN?
>>
>>42873
Believe me I'm totally for the tattoo idea but tree tribe has some catching up to do sociologically speaking.
>>
>>42756
>>
>>42830
I think it's worse than that. Giant spiders would be weak as... Well a regular spider that is trying to carry a giant spider on it's back.
Spiders have no lungs so they need high amounts of oxygen to enter at the skin. The thicker the body the harder this is.

Of course this is not earth. It's OPs world so whatever he says.
>>
>>42858
I like the idea of the boats, especially considering we're in a swamp.
I think our biggest focus should be to differentiate ourselves from the other tribes by using our insects. We already have poison and clothing, I suggest bows too.
We might also need to do something about our population. We're second last in that regard, even though insects and spiders procreate like crazy.
>>
>>42755
why do we suddendly have five tree men
>>
>>42889
If spiders make them happy friend, who are we to judge? They are using the creatures as tools for their happiness, in their own way.
>>
>>42894
Why hate grass tribe
>>
>>42878
Yes. Yes there will be.

But not god related ones. This world is explicitly no magic/very very low magic.
>>
>>42895

>>
>>42905

>>
>>42894

>>
>>42905
Low fantasy/ supernatural events?
>>
>>42903
Don't be coy joyous friend, you know perfectly well they consider themselves inferior to the animal, mate with them even, the same animal that cannot wield or understand our flame.

I do not mean to sound anything but pure happy, don't get me wrong, but letting such blaspheming degenerates go on day after day is, pardon me for saying so, like a spit in the face of our incandescent God.
>>
>>42896
We should have a lot of excess food due to our specialized housing, and I was thinking that maybe when we discover boats, we could start doing some sort of Chinampa-like floating gardens, using waters that don't have fish as farmland
>>
>>42931
Ye hits the hits wit da club to be da boss
>>
>>42904
Thats not an accurate despiction of us. We are a lot more than just people hitting eachother. We also pray to plants and hit animals.
>>
>>42896
Okay so what do we do?
Investigate spiders and bows?
Make kiteboat things and start fucking like crazy?
>>
>>42931
>>42943
I have to be respected. From now on Grass people are not to be made fun of. Also if possible you have to draw us as beatiful and strong as you can.
>>
>>42938
To be honest friend, it does disturb me a bit. But I have no intention of bothering them so long as they leave us be. At least for now. We are as yet a small tribe. We must secure our own future happiness before we worry about that of others.
>>
>>42959

>>42959

>>
>>42946
Investigate water spiders in order to make better boats. Then use the wheel to make sails and we'll easily have the best boats in the world.
Culturally, we'll instill a great urge to procreate in our people, just like insects do. This will also mean more food for our overlords.
