You control the great nation of Valornia, a state in a world filled with nothing but Pokemon. You make the decisions on what will be done either politically, technically, militarily, socially, secretly or financially- as long as there is an open slot for an action, it will be done.

Quick Summary:

- Valornia marches through Arthunbrook to Daberly where the two armies separate to form a large pincer movement to take the north and south of Zureis.
- Due to some sabotage, Valornia had gotten the Zureis alliance to crumble. Most of their allies peacing out on neutral terms, allowing the south shore nations to reinforce when needed.
- Misdreavus have been civilized

The map is just for reference. The only arrows that you need to worry about are the yellow and green. All the others are Valornian ally states, Kalisia, Muinal Knights, Albrinn and Nordhalen. I control these armies. You may make changes to the plan but with a vote.
Can't have someone fucking it all whenever they want can we?

I play a lot of HOI so a map like this helps keep everything in order. Reality is that the armies are just going province to province normally.

KAROVIAN ANNEXS PICHU LANDS

The Pichu have decided to disavow Valornia's guarantee of independence and were offered to join Karovia in a larger union.

The decision was made by a council of elders in the stagnated lands of the Pichu who accepted that the Karovians can bring them to new heights with their superior technology.

Karovia has now gained all former Pichu provinces. They are becoming a force on the island but are still nothing compared to Valornia.

Karovia is somewhat below Valornia's level. The only thing they have that's better is steel-making. They make a lot of a steel.

A Feudal Mpnarchy like most other kingdoms.

Yes, the Vulpix are vassals of the Becari, who are in turn in you sphere of influence. You also have bloodline as the royal family. Inheritance of Becari is around 30%.

Map up top shows current locations. No encounter of enemy army yet. Next round they move another province.

>also, would construction take up a slot? I'm thinking of building a university in the capital
There already is a university in the capital actually. Sometimes, new invention may come randomly from there.

Also, buildings cost money and don't take a slot. Time to build is now: it'll be done next round for simplicity.

-build a brass workshop if we havent already (jakoelfton)

It was more, they were next to each other and unified under one crown. That stuff is of minor issue where long guns and cannon are common. Even our favorite monsters cannot beat the bullet or a cannonball.

---
>>354961

You build a Workshop and Hospital in Jakoelfton, which will cost 50,000 KYR.

You build a Winery in Dami's Cross, which will cost 25,000 KYR.

Current budget before is 278,250 KYR. After buildings, it will be 203,250 KYR.

Yes everything is more expensive but there had to be a trade-off for instantaneous buildings.

You ask the Nuzleaf, the last independent tribe on Root, if they wish to be a protectorate of Valornia- Valornia leaves them alone but makes it so Karovia cannot strong-arm them into joining their kingdom along with limited trade with them.

They, of course, continue to refuse anything you offer them and state that they do not want anything to do with Valornia other than be at peace with them.

=---==---=
The armies have made it to the next provinces. 1st army has encounter rate of 50% while 2nd army has 15%. I will be rolling 2d100 for encounter.

The Casus Belli against Zureis has been made. Valornia may now declare war on Zureis for the following reason: Holy War.

War-Goal added to current war: Ban Worship of Yveltal in Zureis.

The search in the east sunken island has given Valornia the plans for:

- Some sort of large machine with massive rear wheels and small front wheels and a large container in the middle with a furnace in the rear of it.
- The plans for a ship that can carry more than before, a "fluyt" was what the design was called.
- An advanced explosion named "dynamite" but it seems hard to manufacture and the materials harder to procure with the provisions of today's world.

Like before, all must be properly researched before they may be built or used but only if prerequisites have been met.

On it.

Your top military ministers in the counsel work to make the Valornian military more organized using a squad, platoon, division, company and battalion system.

Knowing hot air rises is a basic fundamental thing about air, you ask the eggheads in Jakoelfton University to develop a mode of transportation utilizing this mechanic.

Diplomats sent to Karovia discuss if they wish to set up a cultural/business exchange program. They say they will consider it by next turn.

5 GA will harass the enemy troops which will decrease accuracy by 15%

4 GS will intercept any AS that come to attack

1 AS will protect 1MM.

---
You decide build a dry dock in Jakoelfton. (15,000 KYR)

You send 2 War Priests to Haven. They will land in Clifton next turn.

>does this make sense mechanically? or would the secret guard do that already
They already do this. They're like a Ye Olde CIA or MI6. As times change, the name will too. For now, it's just, the Secret Guard.

Your military inventors get to work on devising a devastating ammo for cannons that can be shot over walls and such to burn down buildings- a great tactic to give your enemy incentive to open the gates, being on fire would do that.

---
The newest in firearms is in! A company named Hustovi Arms Company has patented a new type of way to fire off bullets without having to insert gunpowder as well- center-fire cartridges that have a primer inside already! Of course, the military has to have this for their rifles but must make their own design of rifle and bullet to be produced. The current standard rifle can't shoot it- it only shoots the Minie balls.

The populace has been taught of the proper teachings of Arceus and that he is the father of Azelf. Most have accepted that Azelf is not the true creator of all but is still a force in their lives.

The Valornian government starts a large pro-war propaganda machine that advertises righteousness, industrialism, education and serving the homeland. This may stir nationalist tendencies in the people but it will help the war effort tremendously.

-loot the fallen but give them a proper burial. Dont need more demons. Take away the weapons of the prisoners and interrogate them. Tell them to go to the city where we landed. In return we will take care of them and teach them how to ward off demons. Kill any demons that have survived the battle and tell the prisoners to take the bodies with them so we can research

The integration of the Sandshrew has been completed. You have gained their land and these new pops':

Sandshrew: 110
Gligar: 70
Marshtomp: 55
Sandslash: 40
Cubone: 30
Vibrava: 15

You also now have this city:

Označit - Mark - Province 26

You start researching valves in accordance to pipes and plumbing, which would help lest you get a leak in that fancy new apartment building huh?

---
After the battle in Brent Plains, the 1st Army loots weapons and armor from the fallen on both sides, lessening the need of resupply while giving them all proper burial with a shrine to boot to ward off any demons.

Speaking of which, your army kills off the rest of the demon troops that were along with the Zureisians for safeties sake. Your army forcibly disarms the surrendered troops and forces them to walk back and carry some of the deceased demons to Clifton in Arthunbrook along with a small escort so as to not get them slaughtered when they reach Daberly.

=-=-=-=-=
The 2nd Army has reached the Galleim Order's northern province, which was fairly treacherous and had unstable mountain roads but an escort from the Order helped out quite a bit.

The commander of the 2nd Army, Denis Machán, a Skorupi, met with one of the Order's masters', a young Shuppet by the name of Julyan Barnet.

He asked if the Valornian's were here to help push out the annoyance that is Zureis.

Denis answered a simple yes. Ever since Valornia has spoken to Zureis, they've been nothing but trouble with them.

Julyan remarks that it might be because your largest populace is Poison type- which they despise alongside Dark and Ghost.

Julyan then points out that there is a blockade of sorts on the other side of the mountain base. The Zureisian's have been blocking the path both ways and there is only one way in and one way out. They've been a pain to fit as they have musketman and cannons and the demons are wearing them out despite being easy to kill.
He asks if you have any Flying troops you could spare that can plant explosives of any kind?

>No
>Yes - Must have Air Units and Explosives Which you do.

Wanted to reply on use of hot air balloons offensively, murkrow sharpshooters+hot air balloons =mobile sniping base
>>
>>365094
That would be a fairly offensive use but I'm sure during battle, they would be easy to shoot down before they get anywhere. They are massive targets and hard to control in the wind but as I always say, creativity is something I encourage. Next battle you may do this if you want.

Juyln was glad to see that you had the necessary things because they didn't.

The plan is simple: Get some Flying-types up above where the blockade, set off some explosives and watch it all disappear. The only downside is that the avalanche will block progress westward for a short time while it's cleared but it effectively kill off the entire enemy force.

>Go through with the plan - wait 3 rounds for snow to be cleared.
>Do not go through with plan - fight head on

---
The propaganda has been quite effective. Units are produced 2x faster and are 50% cheaper. Naval units are built twice as fast and at 25% the cost. Nationalism has risen dramatically and the Valornian flag is flown in pretty every building though sadly, there is no national anthem to be sung quite yet. You may make one- though, I'd leave that to those musically inclined. /mu/ would love an opportunity like this... or /pol/ considering nationalism is their shtick

I mean generally, hot air balloons can got pretty high in the sky
>The typical balloon flight ranges from just above the treetops to about 2,000 feet. The absolute world record for a hot air balloon at altitude is 65,000 feet or almost 12 miles high!
>that's a huge difference, I'd say they'd be ok against ground units being 1 mile+ up

-political: ask the countries of the mainland if they have heard of yveltal, spread the word about demons on haven, how the different religions feel about arceus

It's more of, when they're taking off, it might be a target. Obviously, once in the air, the only thing that can take it out is a Flying-type but they'll be shot down with ease. Other than the taking off bit, it's fine to be used offensively like that.

>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qn87PI9K99M [Embed] this'll do for now

That's a pretty good anthem- not Russian anthem level but pretty good.

Valornia sends a survey to the mainland, mostly to ask if they have heard of Yveltal, spread the word of demons and ask religions other than Originism, what they think of it.

A couple of sociologists from Jakoelfton University have decided to start studies on the major cities of Valornia and study unemployment and homelessness to the government.

A couple of spies are sent to Karovia to check the local populaces attitude about Valornia. Hopefully, they aren't too mad at us.

Valornia orders 3 new Galleons to be laid down in Chrabrost to add to the navy. It will cost 55,000 KYR to build the three ships. It will take 2 rounds.

>don't forget about our units of blastoise and venonat, also the marines

Venonat Special Corps or SPC and the Blastoise Artillery, have been made a bit before but did not get used or remembered, mostly my fault. You may do whatever you wish with the three units each in Jakoelfton that you got for free for my incompetence.

Marines, or rather Valor Marines, have been researched and can be trained as a special attack unit that is great for crappy conditions all around and landings.

Zebstrika is done next round.

The 2nd Army is in the Zureisian Highlands while the 1st Army is in the Zureisian Lowlands- kinda like Scotland.

As testing has shown, TNT can be used as a sort grenade by all infantry against their enemies. It would be brutal but yet effective- traumatizing as well however for the soldiers using it and the ones receiving it. It might spark something if this item were to be used this way.

Breech-loading weapons have been made by an inventor in Reka West. The idea is to load ammo in the back. Useful for artillery and rifles. Of course, new designs must be made to use this.

The TNT blows a massive amount of snow off of the mountain and wipes out a large portion of the blockade, killing at least a good three quarters of the enemy troops. Whatever is left is either injured or scurrying back to Zureis in panic. The injured are summarily executed by the Galliem Watchmen, mostly out of hatred. Juyln explains that the Zureisians invade their land all the time but don't get far- the majority type in the order is actually Ice types and can easily deal with blocking roads off. But with zealot's like the king of Zureis in power, the invasions never really stop but this last one hit harder than all before but incited the response so great, it may never happen again.
