Looking for a journey through a strange land filled with monster girls and magic? Well, you came to the right place! This quest has an emphasis on world building, character-driven narrative, social interactions and combat.

Averagely I post from 6pm to ~10pm PST on weekdays and weekends are determined by my schedule. I am currently working on an overall summary for new lurkers/aspiring players.
>>
>>414759
Last time you and Akitani began your perilous journey through the Accursed lands. You encountered a bicorn named Rozalin who so far has helped you along the way, though you don’t fully trust her. You also met a small imp girl who was looking for somewhere safe and you have pinky promised to protect her. You also met with Baeloric, a giant black dragon who told you that the item the old witch Yaga was looking for was in the hands of a nasty fire elemental named Azrazzor who is held up in the tallest northmost mountain in the region, the Tower of Spite. You four journey slowly to the tower and found yourselves in a village that turned out to be a literal ghost town. You are currently being targeted by two noisy goblins who for some reason want to capture you.

You think quickly and charge a death spell in your hand, you raise it to the sky and 10 skeletons pop out of the ground. You feel bad about raising these bodies as they might have been once the very town people of this village you have been conversing with, but your safety comes first. “Climb the buildings and be my shield!” you command. 5 skeletons surround you as a shield and the other five begin the climb to your goblin assailants. Since you can’t use your legs you know you can’t fight them any more than this, so you have Rozalin turn and run back to the inn as fast as she could. “Rozalin, run in a zig-zag or serpentine formation, but make it erratic. It will lessen the chances of the crossbow hitting us.” “Alright.” She turns and runs. The human skeletons aren’t as fast as a bicorn but they do their best to split themselves up to cover you. You think about maybe getting the townspeople to help, but they seem very preoccupied with running. You best just get back to the inn as soon as possible

A bolt shatters one right behind you. “Oi you, quit your runnin!” The armed goblin yells. Despite all this, it seems that goblin is a pretty good shot. The other goblin is trying to deal with the other skeletons you sent after them. “Take dat, and dat, and dat!” he swings a club at the ascending shamblers. Another bolt whizzes past you. You have maximized all you could to avoid getting hit and simply hope for the best.

Despite the goblins best efforts he seems unable to hit you. But he does take out two more of your skeletal guard. Despite minor losses, you make it to the inn with relative ease.

You run into the inn and dart upstairs. Thankfully as far as you knew it was only the two goblins chasing you. With Aki and Wilsa’s help, you just might be able to fight them off. You burst through the door to your room to find Aki and Wilsa armed at the commotion. The young imp is hugging and hanging onto Akitani and shivering. “What is going on outside?!” Aki says while holding the young one. “We are being hunted by two goblins on the rooftops, we need to either fight them or run. “It's only two?” Wilsa asks. “Yes but I do not know if they have reinforcements,” It might be wiser to run,” Rozalin suggests. You hear a small voice. “Big sis Aki, I want to be somewhere safe.” The little imp requests. “It’s okay, big sis is here, I’ll make sure nothing happens to you." Akitani pats the imps head.

Let us Fight the Goblins. Running around at night doesn't seem like a great idea.
But let us fight the Goblin by staying in this room and waiting for them to come.

“We’ll fight them, but on our terms.” “What do you mean,” Rozalin asks. You explain, “We will ambush them in this room. That goblin knows that we ran in here so they should be coming in here soon. At range, we are no match, but if we ambush him up close we should be able to win handily.” Rozalin responds, “Yes but you would have to assume that our attackers would be dumb enough to fall into our trap.” “From what we know about them, they aren’t the smartest, I think we should be able to do this easily.” “If you are sure,” Aki says. Wilsa agreed with the plan, “Just like back home!” she said eagerly.

You, Wilsa, and Rozalin are the primary attackers. Akitani is busy protecting and caring for the child. You three surround your bedroom door and wait for the first person to open it. You hear a noise in the inn. “I saws dem come in heres, where dey gitz at!” “Just search da rooms already.” You hear footsteps on the other side of your door. You nod to Wilsa and Rozalin and prepare a death touch spell in your hand. Wisla readies her axe and Rozalin rears up for a kick follow up to your attack. The door to your room slowly opens.

The goblin pokes his head in. Wilsa misses her swing and you only barely manage to tag his arm. It begins to rot and he freaks out. “AHHH ME ARM!” “Quit yur yapping," a bolt flies into the room. He misses, And that means he needs to reload. You pounce at this opportunity. “Rozalin he’s reloading! Charge!” She bursts through the door and runs over the screaming goblin. The other one sticks out his crossbow to meet your charge but all you had to do was touch him to win. And touch him you did. Right in the arm.” Rozalin follows up with swift kicks to both the small green creatures. The kicks were powerful enough to send them flying into the wall and they soon fall to the ground unconscious. “Phew that was fairly simple, but still…” You sigh. “So what should we do with them?” Rozalin asks. “We should question them. We have no idea what they are doing here, and why they seem to be after you.” You tie them up and once secure you smack them back to consciousness. “Ahh me arm!” one of them yells, but you already stopped the rot. He must be experiencing pain lag or something. The crossbow man from before is far more reserved. “So, is dis da part where you question and kill us?"

Well, is it?

“First off, who sent you and why are you me?” “I can’ts answer dat, da boss will…” He stops dead in his sentence. As if unable to physically continue his train of thought. You turn to the next one. “What about you?” He shakes his head feverishly. You can’t tell if they aren’t answering you because they can’t or don’t want to. Either way, they aren’t telling you anything useful. Though, maybe you can worm it out of them?

Let us try to worm info out of him. Ask him tangential questions. Like what are you doing in this town or what are you doing in the accursed lands. Or ask questions that narrow down searches. Like are you here to capture me or are you here to kill me.

Also pepper in one or two threats. Don't want to kill or hurt. Just scare.
Also use some deception. Mention how we already killed the rest of their allies and are on our why to kill their boss.

“Hmmm, can I ask what you are doing in this town?” “Looking for some gurl.” “That gurl would be me?” “Dunno, you were the only live human gurl. Seemed obvious to us.” “And are you here to kill me or capture me.” “Capture.” That went well. You wonder what might happen if you put on some more pressure. “Well, if you have nothing too useful to say we could just kill you and move on. We already took out your other allies and were making our way to kill your boss eventually.” “You? Takin’ on da boss? Hahahaha” he cackles. “You might of killed our other gitz but takin’ down da boss is impossible.” “Impossible you say? How so?” “Because da boss is far stronger than anyone's we ever met.” You’re aren't sure how to judge that statement as you expect their standards to be quite low. “Well…” you pull out your sword. “Killing you won’t make much of a difference then.” You point your sword to the neck of the squirmy one, not the one that shot at you. “Ehhh! Don’t do dats please let us go.” “I can’t do that.” You move the blade closer to his throat. “I’ll tell ya what you wants to know.” “Idiot! You can’t do dat?” The other goblin protests. “If we don’t we gunna die.” He turns and frantically begins talking. “You see da boss is a powerful-” He stops and is unable to talk further. After a few seconds, he resets. “Da boss is at-” Again frozen for a few seconds and returns. This time, he forces the sentence. “Da boss wants da gurl for-!” What happened at that instant was horrifying. At first, it seemed like he couldn’t finish his sentence. And it never seems he will. The goblin's head explodes in front of you. Instantly, and without warning. “Ahhhhhh! The little imp cried. Aki shielded her from both the site and flying body parts. “What the hell happened!” you shout “He talked when he shouldn’t of.” The other goblin replies.

So it seems they literally couldn’t reply or else face… that. You were honestly intrigued and concerned about whoever this “Boss” was. Though it’s a safe bet that you won’t get anything out of the other one. Instead, you focus more on tomorrow and heading to the spire.

But you need to decide the fate of the final goblin. If you let him go he might be able to report to whoever this boss is and he would come down harder on you. For whatever reason. You could also kill him and get it over with.

Let us just leave the goblin here. Tell the Ghosts that we left an unwanted visitor in our room and they can deal with him as they wish.

Also we should head to the spire. Get this quest done with and get out of this place.
>>
>>415384

"So what is it gonna be?” The goblin asks. “This.” You nail him over the head and knock him out. If he is tied up like this he can’t do much harm to you. You destroy his crossbow, though, just in case. He also doesn’t know where you are going you don’t think so leaving him here should be fine. Instead, you turn your attention to the Tower of Spite. You really want to get all this done with so you can get back to your friends. “We leave early in the morning everyone. I want to get this all done with.” “Agreed,” Aki and Wilsa say. You think that you have had enough exploring for the evening and head to bed.

You awake the next morning early and you once again wade through town being unnoticed by the townspeople. You wanted to thank the couple for letting you stay in their room, so you left a small thank you note on the desk inside. In the note, you also mention that the goblin was an unwanted visitor and borderline criminal. You encourage them to do as they wish with him. “Alright guys let's get going,” you official declare as you leave the village. You three set off and what will hopefully be the final stretch of this journey.

Your journey to the spire is thankfully much less dangerous than last night. Speaking of which you might want to swing by on your way back and apologize for using their former bodies as shields. Wilsa seems eager for this to end as she is actually walking in front of you and Rozalin. Aki is behind you holding the hand of the young child. “Big sis Aki, do you know where mommy is?” “I’m afraid I don’t, but I am sure she will find you. Mothers have instincts like that.” “Okay…” The imp sighs. You feel bad for dragging a kid along through this but at least you know she is safe with Akitani rather than being eaten by hellhounds.

After some time you see tall mountains around you. You must be getting close. In the far distance, you see one mountain that is head and shoulders taller than the rest. “That’s the Tower.” Rozalin points. “Alright, be on guard everyone, we have no idea what may happen. Not to mention we will likely meet a nasty fire elemental.” You look to Wilsa “Wilsa, Baeloric said that you could contact him if we need assistance. I would like it if he could put himself on standby. “Al-Alright” She hesitantly reaches her hand up to her ear and begins whispering. Must be some kind of magic. At the base of the spire, you see black clouds swirling around it. As you get closer to them you feel a repulsion. Everyone else feels an odd attraction. “Don’t you call out to Wilsa who stuck her axe into the mist. The wood in Wilsa’s axe ages rapidly and you can see it slowly rotting away.

How do we go about solving this issue?
>Write in
>>
>>418146
Well first we need data about the death mist. Let us summon a undead and have them stick an arm into the mist. See if it only rots living things. Also have the Undead holding some dirt in its hand. See what happens to the dirt.
>>
>>418180

We should investigate this. You summon some skeletons to see if the barrier works against the undead and have them hold a small bit of dirt. The skeletons pass through easily and the dirt in hands remain steady. You have some toss the dirt away from them, and it quickly turned into a fine sand and almost evaporated away. You notice that when charging your death spells you feel a strong repulsion from the mist.

>Try to stick your arm charged with a spell into the mist
>Have the skeletons surround you and walk through the mist
>Dig under the mist

>>
>>418233
>Try to stick your arm charged with a spell into the mist
Do just a finger first though. That should be quickly fixed with regen if stuff goes bad.
>>
>>418265

You get a thought. “What if…. Rozalin turns to the side next to the mist, but far enough away so that I can only reach it.” “You sure?” “I wanna test something” She moves as you request and you charge a spell in your hand. Better start with a finger, just in case. As you, near the mist you feel an incredible repulsion emitting from the mist. It looks as though your spell is repulsing the most outward. You reach out and with your index finger dive into the mist. It creates a small circle of repulsion in the mist and your finger is completely fine. “Huh,” You stick your hand in now. The repulsion becomes greater and a larger hole in the mist forms.

>Write in
>>
>>418377
Is the hole maintained when we move our hand out of the mist or does the mist reform in that area?
>>
>>418414
You look again to the skeletons who seem to be showing similar results. You notice that the spheres around them are separate and the mist is reforming behind them as they move.
>>
>>418418
Well since the skeleton repulse the mist in a good sphere. We should gather a bunch of them together, summon more if we can, and start to march through. Get everyone bunched together though. Don't want to spread out. and have people get hit with the mist.
>>
>>418428

You think you have his all figured this little trap. You summon some more skeletons and have them surround you. “Alright everyone just stand close and bunched together and we should be able to walk through” “We are doing what?!” Rozalin exclaims. “This,” You hold your arms and channel your death magic and walk into the mist and then immediately walk out. “If we stay close to a source of death magic it will repulse the mist. It must be some sort of death magic as well." “If you say so... “ Akitani says holding the child.

Your skeletal guard hug close to you as you make your way through the mist. You took the center and continued to channel energy for added effect. You are growing weaker as you progress, though, and hope you will reach the mountain soon. Thankfully you are greeted by a base and a small entrance into the mountain in the form of a cave. Oddly the mist disperses immediately when you get to the cave entrance, but instead of question it, you march through and once on the other end brief a heavy sigh of relief. “Thank… god.” It seems all your channeling made you a bit tired, but at least you didn’t have to walk.

Once inside the cave, you notice that it was similar to The Rising Flame volcano, but instead of lava lighting the area, it was artificial light. Small light orbs placed around the room and lit your journey deeper into the mountain. You, start to hear snickering from your surroundings. “She came!” “The girl came on her own!” “Hehehe” “Who's there?” you call out. “Why would she come here?’ “To meet the master?” “No, the master wants more than to meet” You and your party start turning frantically to search for all of these voices berating you. But you all can’t see anything but your shadows.

You look around but it wasn’t too hard to not notice. The voices were coming from… your shadows. Your shadows followed you as you would expect but they hand mouths and they moved independently. “Rozalin the shadows” you whisper. “What about them?” She seems confused. Can she not clearly see them moving? “Aki look at the shadow, do you see it talking or moving." “No…” She looks concerned, “By the way just a minute ago you were talking to yourself. Is everything alright?” At first, you thought it was a normal enemy but now it seems that…“She sees us.” “Does this mean the master was right? “Is she trained?” “The master knows.” the voices continue. “Guys we need to hurry, now.” “Why Rozalin asks. “Because there is an enemy that only I can see.” “Only you can see? Are you sure you are alright?” Aki asks. You think so but this mind game needs to end. “I am fine Aki, I just want to get this finished faster. Rozalin, please pick up pace.” “Alright.” You march through the cave, all the while hearing voices taunt you “She presses on” How sad they don’t believe her.” “What a tragedy.” “Faster," you tell Rozalin.

After jogging through the cave terrain you come across a spiral staircase but there is also a small circle of runes in the center of the spiral. “Maybe this does something?” Wilsa touches the rune. Nothing. “Let me try,” Aki and Rozalin try the rune. Nothing. After Rozalin, you lean down and touch the rune. It lights up to a small display. “Floor 1 of 75, please select a floor”

This reminds you a lot of the map you found at Mother’s castle, that time it worked out but will it this time?

>Try to silence them out
Let us sing our favorite song. Something about never giving someone up. Never letting someone down. And not running around and deserting them.
>>
>>418685

“Well use the rune guys, it will be far faster than the stairs. Especially with 75 floors.” “If you think it is safe.” “Big sis Aki is it safe yet?” “Soon dear.” She pats the imps head. You were thinking about where to go when. “She is going to use it?” “Only the master uses it.” “Why can she use it?” “The master mush know.” You are tired of these voices. You thought for a second, you know you can sing a song in your head. But the only song coming to you was…. A few seconds later you start whispering to yourself “We’ve known each other, for so long….” “What is she doing” the voices continue “I don’t-” “YOUR HEARTS BEEN ACHING BUT YOU’RE TO SHY TO SAY IT!” you try to scream in your head. The voices cease. You continue your tune just in case.

Now that that is settled you focus back on the rune it lists a few locations of interest. On where to go.

“You have selected “The Pit” please wait as we transport you to the specified location.” The rune writes out for you. “Be even more on guard everyone, we don’t know what we are walking into” You input the final operation to transport to The Pit. The next moment there was a series of flashes of blue. The flashes surrounded your party and the next second you were in your destination. “What a nifty little thing,” Rozalin says. “Yes, now keep an eye out people lets see if we can find anything notewor… … oh my god.” After scanning the room you notice that you are completely sounded by sleeping monsters and monstrosities. Goblins like the one attacked you last night were there. Zombified remains of what could have been once proud huge birds. There was a construct that looked like multiple people were fused together. A giant golem made out of stone and flesh. There was a girl who at first you thought looked normal, but getting a better look she looked like a giant moth with human body parts. *ughhgs* You were holding yourself from puking and Aki quickly moved to cover the imps eyes. Rozalin looked on dumbfounded. Then you hear Wilsa behind you,“Who could be responsible for this atrocity,” she says with anger. “These people looked like they were experiments!” She grips tighter on her axe. You try to calm her down, “Wilsa, I understand, believe me. But we need to find out if there are anything we can learn from here.” “Like what? How to end the person responsible?” After her answer, you hear footsteps come from inside the room that wasn't yours.

You need info. “Hide,” you tell your group. Thankfully in this mess, it wasn’t too hard to find a spot to hide, though you had to keep extra care not to accidently wake one of these creatures. The footsteps you heard got louder. Until you start to hear voices of two goblins. “I don’t know why da boss tells u to patrol dis part.” “even if dey only get up at night dey are still safe here. Anything that got close would die.” “Da boss is an odd fell, meticulous.” ‘Yea cept he has a fondness for one of his creations. Dat blasted fire hawk. She got her own room! While we be down here!” “Whatever, just keep walkin’” “Yeah yeah” The footsteps grow increasingly faint and you can’t hear them anymore. “Big sis, I am scared” You were too. “Don’t worry we are leaving now,” you tell her. You all make your way back to the rune.

“The Antechamber.” you input and after some flashes, you are soon there. Hopefully, this time, it won’t be as terrifying as that pit. After a quick look, you find that this place was also terrifying but for different reasons. The scenery was quite decorative and recite. Red velvet and gold lining was throughout the room as well as precious jewels. The real burden in the room was this giant fire hawk sleeping in the middle of it. “You take a look around as quietly as possible. You hear from behind you. Wilsa pointed out, guys look at the Firehawk closer I think I see…” Wilsa begins to look high and low for whatever she is searching for. You walk over and join her, but the closer you get the hotter you get. Not even Baeloric’s lava could compare to this heat. “There it is!” Wilsa announces. You look to where she was pointing at the hawk's neck. There was a necklace of some sort around it and a pendant of what looked to be a small ball emitting an almost blinding light.

You think that this necklace might be the “Sun Orb” you were trying to find all this time due to Wilsa’s emphasis. “But if this is the Sun Orb than this also is probably….” “Probably who?!” You hear a booming voice from right in front of you. It was so loud you grasped your ears in pain. The source of the voice slowly raised their head. The Firehawk was awake. “So you are thieves that have come to my prize are you?!” You might be able to calm her down if you just talk. You plead frantically “No, Ms, we only wanted to talk with-” You,Rozalin, and the others get sent flying into a separate wall of the room as she quickly opens her wings. “Thieves is what you are! No one civil would approach a person as you did in their sleep. For that, you shall pay the price for Thievery and attempt deceive to one such as I!” You see the orb on her necklace begin to glow intensely.

You can’t dodge properly without your legs and Rozalin was still trying to get up after experiencing that fall. Aki protected the Imp who was now crying and was took the most damage. Wilsa surprisingly stood on her feet with her axe raised overhead. She looked incredibly angry, but you are not sure that compares anything to the Firehawk. Whose mear grand presence is singing your clothes.

She seems perplexed, “Did she?” The Firehawk lowers her stance and the orb on her chest begins to fade in brightness. “Interesting, and what else did she say about me?” You came up with something fast, “That… that you were as bright as the sun and your necklace only amplifies your already awe-inspiring radiance. You are the terror to the people below and you are the right full owner of the Sun Orb.” “How accurate,” The Firehawk amuses. “Tell me, human, how did you get in here?” “What are you saying? Lady Azrazzor let us in.” “Really? Usually, she is not allowed to, that man is too cautious to let anyone he does not know in. But, seeing as you got past the mist.” You keep her talking, which is good as your group slowly makes their way back on their feet. Wilsa, however, is slowly walking toward the Firehawk. “Well, human if you wish I will allow you to gaze upon me, but you must come closer.”

What is she doing.” “Human, you are amusing for talking your way this far, but that is enough. Wilsa picks up her pace toward the beast. Wilsa raises her axe and charges, deciding for herself that talks have failed. The creature extends its wing and knocks Wilsa down with ease and turns to her. The Firehawk takes notice, “A the so-called daughter of The Destroyer, tell me how has he been since the last time we met?” The hawk chuckles. This farce is over you fools. She walks slowly toward you. She seems to have deduced that you were lying. But how? As the bird approaches she notices your confusion, “Confused? I was too. To her that I myself sent you all here to see me and let you all in.” She gets closer. “I have not properly introduced myself, I am Azrazzor, ender of The Destroyer and current destructor of the Astral Plane.”

You thought that the Sun Orb around her neck was suspicious, but didn’t you remember Baeloric telling you that Azrazzor was a fire elemental? You think back to your conversation “A rather moody fire elemental if I remember correctly.” “If I remember correctly….” He clearly didn’t. You try once again. “My, Ms Azrazzor, please forgive me for mistaking you for another-” A bolt of fire shoots by you. “I said enough, You are here to steal my treasure and I will not allow that!” She spreads out her wings and a massive wave of force hits you and your group. Sending all of you into the wall.

It seems you are not at ends with a powerful enemy with an orb that has in its very nature to destroy. You don’t know how well your chances are in this fight. Especially since you are still separated from Rozalin.

You make some motions to Wilsa and hope that she calls Baeloric, That is If she hasn’t done so already. With that hopefully taken care of Wilsa is catching her breath on the ground and looks to be rearing to charge once again. Hopefully, she can do something in your situation. Aki, on the other hand, was shielding the imp and when they flew again back into the wall protected her. She is pretty beaten up from that abuse and you don't know how much she could help in her condition. That only leaves you, Rozalin and Wilsa. And to make things worse you couldn’t walk.

You whisper to Rozalin, “I have an idea. She breathes out, “Well we could sure use one.” “Alright,” you take a deep breath, “Toss me” She is shocked, “WHAT?!” You explain, “The Sun Orb is key, if we can snatch it from her we have a chance. She may fly and I would have to latch onto her. For that to happen I need to jump at her and in my current condition…” Rozalin looks at you like you are insane, “You’re going to die.” “We’ll die anyway if we don’t do something.” Arazzors necklace beings to glow once more. “Hurry!” “O-Okay!” Rozalin gets to her hooves as best she can and loads you in her arms. “If you do die,” Rozalin starts to say as you run toward the hulking hawk. “I just want you to know that the last couple days have been the most exciting days of my life.” She smiles, winds up and tosses!

Rozalin managed to toss you with enough force to knock down anything that stood in your flight path. She must have been channelling Victoria with that toss. You are sent streaming through the air with your hands reached out. You only had one shot at this but thankfully Rozalin threw you in just the right direction. You reach out and grab.. The Sun Orb! You had your goal, but the force of Rozalin's throw sent you flying further past Azrazzor who was stunned by what just happen. “What?! THIEF, I WILL BURN YOU TO ASH FOR THIS!” You fall to the ground. Sun orb in hand. Azrazzor was still up but looked oddly dimmer than she did before. “You! Will! NOT!” she takes deep breaths, but then fire spews from her mouth and wings. Encasing her.

She seems to be charging up something. Without the Sun Orb she is half the threat she was. But the other half was nothing to trifle with. You look at the Sun Orb in your hands.

You gaze at the orb, using it would end this battle easily, but at the cost of… You hear Baeloric’s words in your head “It drains you of stamina, spirit, and even your life force. Till you are nothing but rampaging destruction.” You weren’t about to let that happen. Not to mention Baeloric should be on his way. You turn to Wilsa to confirm. “Yeah I called him, He’ll want to fight her personally.” “Do you know how long it will take him to arrive?” “Minutes.” Must be nice being a giant dragon that could fly. For now then you Wilsa and Rozalin will have to hold her off.

The flame cocoon around Azrazzor disperses and you see the Firehawk in awe and splendor. She is not as radiant as she was with the orb, but she looked better than she did moments ago. “YOU WILL RETURN THE ORB!” she shouts and opens her mouth. A huge blast of fire erupts in your direction.

You want to dodge but your legs aren’t in the best of conditions. You roll the best you can with your torso, but your legs take a hit. Good think you couldn’t feel them because they were on literal fire. Wilsa runs in for a charge attack. Azrazzor tries to deflect but Wilsa’s blow is too strong and it lands a glancing strike on the hawk. She shrugs it off though only showing minor injuries and completely ignoring the wound. Rozalin runs to your side and helps put out your legs. She extends her hand, "So you didn't die it seems, is that lucky or unlucky I wonder." she notices. "It's too early to tell," you accept her hand in mounting. You raise the orb to show off to Azrazzor. “GIVE IT BACK!” she yells, eyes. Her eyes show only rage. Based on what Baeloric told you, it is not just that she wants the orb she NEEDS the Orb. In which case….

You declare, “Azrazzor I will destroy this orb if you attempt that again!” She challenges your statement, “It is far too powerful for once such as you to destroy!” “Is it now? You underestimate me your radiance,” you taunt.

The Firehawk seems to pull back slightly, but she attacks you nonethe less, making sure not to hit the orb. You raise the orb high in the air. “One more time and I WILL destroy this.” Azrazzor does not attack. Instead, Wila comes around for another strike that The hawk ignores. It was a clean hit, but all she cares about is the orb.

Azrazzor flaps her wings and takes off from the ground. unabated by the recent wound she received. You don’t know what she is doing, but the antechamber seems large enough for her restricted flight. She circles the room and each time she gains speed. After 10 rotations she swoops down on you. You had more than enough time to prepare so you held out your hand and channeled death. You think better of taking this head on and decide to duck out of the way. “Rozalin!” You call, she moves out of the way. The Firehawks amount of force put into that attack was enough to shake the whole mountain. The Firehawk was stabbed into the ground due to her own attack but broke free moments later. “I WILL DESTROY YOU!” she screams. Her voice echoed across the chamber. A few moments later you heard a much louder noise.

There was a loud crash. A huge hole now opened the antechamber to the outside world. And in that hole stood a massive black dragon. “Baeloric!” You call out. “I am sorry if I was not swift enough, but it seems you have already taken your prize. In which case, the rest of this encounter will be left to me. I have waited 100 years for this!” The former Destroyer raises his body proudly to his old opponent. Azrazzor laughs, “Hahahaha, look at you, reduce to living in solitude for 100 years and all the while becoming a big softy. What happened to “The Destroyer”?" she taunted. Baeloric was unfazed “You can consider him self-destructed, but I did not come here to talk.” Baeloric readies himself for a lunge. “This time, it is you who does not have your addiction. And as it was mine it shall be your downfall!” Baeloric charges the bird and a grapple between the two behemoths begins. They roll around and destroy the whole chamber. “Baeloric is trying his best to not hit you all by accident, but it is leaving openings for Azrazzor to exploit. “Father!” Wilsa cries out of concern. *ROAR* Baeloric bellows as lava spews from his mouth. “Lava?! To attack one bathed in fire?! Have you gone senile in your old age?!” the Firehawk says trying to through the black dragon off. Instead of answering though Baeloric simply rolls the two of them toward the expanded hole of his entrance, and begin a free fall down the tower. “FATHER!” Wilsa cries. In the next moments, you see Baeloric and Azrazzor flying in the air across from each other. There is nothing you could do to assist him, and it didn’t seem like he wanted help regardless.

You have the Sun Orb in hand and can likely leave with the confusion of the aerial clash occurring, But there was one last room on the Rune map labeled “Top of the Spire”

Damned inquisitive nature. Let us go to the top of the tower. See if there is anything else we can steal/requisition/loot/acquire/other synonym for take. Also going to the top should give us a moment of rest. We do have to push through the Mist again. Or wait until Baeloric is done beating Azrazzor and then get to ride on his back and complete ignore the mist.
>>
>>422743

You and Rozalin run over to Wilsa, Aki and the young imp. “Wilsa, he will be alright, he should have an advantage after resting all that time and the draining effects of the orb.” “I… know.” Wilsa resigns. “Little one are you alright? And what about you Aki?” The imp responds, “I am okay, but big sis Aki took hits for me. She will be okay I think just tired.” “Not to mention in pain.” Aki breathes out. “Don’t worry Aki we will be leaving hopefully soon.” After ensuring everyone’s safety you head over to the rune and consider your options. You could take the rune down to the 1st floor, but you would have to deal once again with the mist. Maybe if Baeloric deals with Azrazzor quickly he could give you a ride? While thinking this over you once again notice the “Top of the Tower” option.

Curse your curiosity. You wanted to see all this tower had to offer, especially after contending with shadow spirits, those monstrosities down below and a Firehawk. “Top of the Tower, signeture” you say to the rune. Rozalin is shocked. “What?! You mean we aren’t leaving?” There was something you couldn’t shake about this place, “There is something I need to see, plus it may give us a chance to rest for another walk through the mist.” “If you say so.” Aki says her signature phrase at this point. You all stand in the rune and after a flash, you are at what must be the top of the tower.

This was the top of a mountain, but… why does it look like this? This room is completely made out of metal, you see scientific equipment, beakers, test tubes, vials and the like. There was a light switch. Like an actual switch. Electrical currents were running through wiring along the wall. “What is this place” your party is speechless. It looks like something from your world, nothing native here. So far you had estimated that the people here are close to medieval Europe in terms of technological advancements. This was an incredible outlier.

You walk through the room, trying to figure out more about this strange place. You start to hear a small voice behind you snickering. Then you feel as if is reaching behind you. “!” You turn to check this phenomenon when your neck is suddenly grasped and squeezed with intensity. You look around frantically, but there is no one near you. You feel the hands constricting around your neck, but no hands were there. You hear an aggressive “You finally return! You will pay for killing my daughter!”

It is almost impossible to talk with her hands in a vice grip on your neck.

You start to prepare a death spell in your hand but you and no idea where to aim it except for your neck. You bring your hand toward your neck when you feel the constriction stop. And the hands have left you. The voice comes once again, “So you would risk killing yourself to kill me? You are just the man I thought you were. Destroying villages, killing families, you are willing to sacrifice anything for your sake! Even your own body!” There was nobody to this voice, only air. You had your neck back and you can at least try to talk to it or something.

“Hphhm,” what now floats before you was an imp, though she reminded you a lot of the young one with Aki. She was distinctly larger and had more grandiose poise about her. She seems angry, “I do not see what this accomplishes, other than you get to watch me kill you.” “You are mistaken! I am not whoever you think I am and I did not kill your daughter, I think she is even with us?” “With you?” You feel a hand on your shoulder. “Are you okay?” comes from Rozalin. “I am okay considering I was just choked by a crazed demon.” “You’re doing it again…” Aki speaks up covering the imp. “What!” you shout. What can they possibly be talking about? She is literally right here! Aki continues, “You are talking to yourself,” “I’m what…” you grasp your head. It’s just like back with the shadows. Could she be some figment of your imagination? “You will show me my daughter and hand her over!” It was your only shot. “Aki, please just let the imp look this way. She looked concerned but slowly released her grip on the child. “There she is!” you declare to the potential figment of your imagination. The woman flies over to the child and examines her. “Hmmm” She then presses her forehead against the imps and you hear the imp yell “Mommy!” You were right.

The demon turns to you. “So it seems you were telling the truth, but why would a man like you do this?” You have had enough of this, “Because I am not the person you are looking for!” “Calm down! “Rozalin tries to grab onto you. You take some deep breaths while Rozalin holds you. You start again, “We are not kidnappers, nor are were responsible for killing the people you claim we did. You can have your daughter back.” The demoness looks at her daughter. “Mommy, please don’t be mad. They helped me get somewhere safe like you wanted and big sis Aki has been there for me the whole time.” “Did they tell you to say that? And who is this “Big sis Aki”?” the demon questions. The imp points at Akitani “I am saying what I want to they have only been nice to me mommy. The next second Akitani, Wilsa, and Rozalin can now see the demoness too. “What?! She wasn’t lying there really was someone-” The demon bows. “Thank you ever so much for looking after my daughter.“I apologize for placing you in this zone, and attempting to kill you in my rage.”

It seems you have pacified her and returned the young imp to her mother, at a…. creepy…. lab-ish room at the top of a mountain. Yeah, you had a lot of questions.

>Write in
>>
>>426051
Few questions. First. All this, what is the whole lab thing. Second Azrazzor, what is your relation to her. Third. How did you get separated from your daughter and what happened to you village. Finally. Do you know anything about fixing paralyzed legs.
>>
>>426066

You ask your signature flurry of questions. “What is this place,” She answers, “The lair of a wicked man who is still out, more than that I do not know. I only came to wait for him to return so I could kill him.” “What is your relation to Azzrazzor?” “None, that Firehawk is the man’s favorite pet and he uses it to destroy at his will, he did the same to our village, which I suppose does give some relation, but only slightly.” “Can you talk more about your village and how you got separated from your daughter.” She takes a deep sigh and looks to the ceiling, “Remembering that day is… difficult.” She closes her eyes and begins, “Our town was a norman demon village in these parts until that man sent his evil bird to destroy us. FOR NO REASON!” she shouts. “I watched neighbors and friends die. I only escaped because that day I was out foraging. Despite that, I was able to run back to my home and watch as my life burned around me. I thought even my daughter was killed. No one on fire ever went out, and I had thought my daughter one of the victims.” She squeezes her daughter's hand for her own reassurance. “Since then I dedicated all my efforts into killing the man who holds the leash, but he has been away from quite some time.”

“What do you know about this man?” You keep hearing a may being referred too. “That guy,” or “That man.” Even back 500 years ago Aleister Ravani mentioned him. “They say he has not named, he seems to be eternal and controls the tower and plans nefarious deeds from within. Crossing him means death and meeting him might just as well ensure doom.” “I have never met him but all in the accursed lands know that he exists. I figured the top of the tower would be his home, and although I believe I guessed right he is nowhere to be found.” She looks around “Only these…. Things.”

While talking you hear loud roars and explosions from outside. The tower crumbles and you can only assume Baeloric and Azrazzors fight was smashing parts of the mountain. You don’t know how much time you have until something bad happens. But you can feel something coming.

That rocking made you a bit nervous. “We can discuss things later, we need to get out before something terrible happens.” The demon asks. “Like what?” “That man returning, or this whole place coming down.” The mountain quakes again. “Please come with us to safety. “Haha, do you think me to be my daughter child? I can simply fly away why would I-” she stops her sentence and looks down. The young imp was tugging on her mother's clothes. “You really have taken a liking to them it seems.” She smiles. “Very well, we shall accompany you.” Great. You all find your way back to the rune. You were about to select ground floor when Wilsa speaks, “I want to see father,”. She must be worried. “Wilsa your dad is far stronger than that drained hawk.” “Still… I want to make sure.”

>Go to the antechamber and check

Yes go to Antechamber. Might as well alleviate some worry. But get ready to book it out of here.
>>

“Okay Wilsa, we’ll go check on your father.” “Antechamber," you announce. After a familiar series of flashes, you arrive at the now destroyed chamber. Though you thought the majority of the fighting was taking place outside it seems they managed to slam back into the chamber every now and then. You look out the many holes searching for the two combatants. You find them grappling in the in the sky, much like you left them, only now they are both badly injured. Azrazzor looked to be nothing but the physical manifestation of fury. Her flames were shining almost as bright as the sun and her flames engulfed Baeloric. Baeloric, on the other hand, looked to be receiving nothing but punishment.

A bellowing earthquake roar errupted from the former destroyer and with a swift move he separated himself from the Firehawk. Azrazzor looked to be panting while Baeloric looked to be high in stamina. “Azrazzor,” the destroyer calls out, “You know that your life is over if you get that orb again, do not continue to make my mistakes.” “Showing your own weakness to your enemy old man? I do, what I want to do, no orb has control of me!” “Then leave the orb and find a better life.” “Why do you care!” “Because if my daughter has taught me one thing, it is that there is kindness for and within even the lowest people.” “Are you even listening to yourself, that volcano and that little shit for a daughter made you nothing but a soft old man, and yet you continue to act like you are above me. I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS ANY LONGER!” Azrazzor charges. She doesn’t look like she cares how she attacks, she only wants to win. Baeloric was much calmer. “Very well,”

What you see next was astonishing. Baeloric let Azrazzor hit him but use that force to turn and plummet them both back into the antechamber. Azrazzor hit the ground first and took far more damage than the destroyer did. “Your attacks were noble, but your power was drained by that infernal orb.” the dragon announces. The firehawk managed to sit back, “I.... Hate.... You....” Azrazzor didn’t look like she could move. Baeloric stands over his opponent victorious.

“Wilsa, and the young one. I am glad to see that you are alright, and have picked up another.” The imp’s mother was terrified at the situation. She was happy that Azrazzor the bird that destroyed her life was defeated, but she was standing in front of the original Destroyer of the Astral Plane.

The Dragon continues, “My vengeance is complete and I am satisfied, but I wonder.” He looks at you, “What would you do in this situation?”

You give it some thought and speak your mind, “I think, there is something to redeem.” “Oh?” The destroyer says, “And why is that?” “I believe that this once proud bird had been corrupted by this cursed relic like you once were. I feel that like you, she may be able to change now having suffered what she has.” The dragon huffs, “But did you know this hawk before the orb, what makes you think she has the capacity to change?” “With all due respect Baeloric, I did not know you before you acquired the orb and I know you have changed.” The dragon laughs, “Hahaha, ingorant confidence, how human.” “Baelori... “ you think hard, “I believe that everyone has the capacity to change, in some way, good or bad. I will never be who I am today. I am certainly not the same school girl I was a few months ago, and you have proven that change is powerful.” you said all you had to. You can only hope he liked your answer.

“Human, you remind me of my daughter, far too nice for her own good.” He places one of his claws on Azrazzors neck. For a solid minute, he stood there frozen, only looking at Azrazzor’s face, as if he became lost in a thought or memory. After the moment he breahes back to life, “But… there is something to say about your method.” He retracts his claw. “What?!” The Firehawk upproars! “You will not even grant me an honorable death! Am I so beneath you that you don’t consider me a threat?!” Baeloric sighs, “Of course not you idiot” He lightly slaps him in the face.” “I will not have YOU pitty ME.” This time, your voice reached her ears, “It’s not pity, it’s belief.” “Beleif in this change you keep going on about?” “When I recover from this all I will do is try to once again kill you.” “And that is your decision,” The destroyer adds. Azrazzor is stunned. “You… are okay with me trying to kill you, at all times?” “That is your decision, not mine, Just know that I will kill you if you do make attempts on my life, or my daughters.” The dragon shoots a glare. “For now, though you will need to rest. I can take care of you at the volcano if you wish. The Lave ther is quite refreshing.” he muses. “Do not make a fool out of me you crazed old man!” “It was only an offer. One that I will leave open.”
>>
>>426528

Baeloric turns to you all, "Now we may leave everyone. I may not be the most comfortable ride but I would be diffidently the fastest." He lowers himself to the ground and spreads his wings for you to climb onto his back. Aki seems terrified, “If, you say so…..” The mother and daughter duo seem content as does Rozalin. Wilsa takes a minute to embrace her father’s body. The dragon speaks, “I’m sorry did I worry you.” “Always,” She squeezes harder. Before you get you leave you hear a voice behind you. “Human, my master here will know of this. And his wrath is far greater than any “kindness" you can muster.” The Firehawk spits out at you. Was that a threat? It sounded more like a warning. “Thank you lady Azrazzor, I sincerely hope you get well.” The Firehawk whispers to herself after your words and as she watches you leave atop a dragon. “”Thank… you, huh”?”

“Dear lord!” You yelled as Baeloric soared through the sky. You were holding onto anything you could but going the speeds you were, it made it difficult to stay in one spot. The air was blasting you at incredible speeds. The dragon turned to ask “You holding on back there?” “Aaaahhhh,” Akitani answered. She was panicking. Rozalin was flustered. The imp and her mother seemed alright, though. Must be nice being able to fly. Wilsa looked like she was right at home, even waving her hands in the air. With this much force, you had no idea how that was possible but she found a way.

The flight only lasted minutes and Baeloric descended into The Rising Flame volcano where he left is now mostly terrified passengers off. “I will give you a minute,” Baeloric uttered, “But we need to discuss what to do with the orb and Yaga. If you wish to save your friends you need to hurry, though I doubt Yaga will do anything to them, she wants the orb and knows you can use it against her if she touches your friends.”

Also who is going to come with us to stop Yaga. We know Aki is coming. But is Baeloric, Rozalin, or Wilsa coming. The Imp and her Mother will probably stay, but we also don't know.

Also if anyone has advice in this situation. More voice are good when planning something like this.
>>
>>428257
I think we should calm down, I mean we spared that firebird, and Yaga is definitely the friendlier of the two.
>>
>>428329

Yaga's power is unknown to you, but she is an ancient witch. The only spells you know she can do is transformation and mind reading of some sort.

You can convince others to come if you want. Baeloric just fought a firebird for you, and Wilsa doesn't want to leave him. So convincing them might be difficult. Rozalin just seems to want to have fun, she can probably be convinced to come. The Imp and her mother are wild cards to you. Though the mother could prove useful you imagine.
>>
>>428379
Well Let us first try to convince Rozalin and Baeloric to help us. Rozalin should be easy, do you want to go on more adventures. Baeloric should be harder. Ask him to help us stop the great Yaga. She is certainly dangerous if she wants the Sun Orb. So you helping would do great for your image and for helping the world in General.
For the Mother. I think we should leave her with her Child. This could be lethal and we don't want to make an orphan.
>>
>>428379
Do we really have to kill Yaga?
>>
>>428418
I don't think we need to kill Yaga. Intimidate works. We just want our friends back and the sun orb destroyed.
>>
>>428418
That is the players' decision. Either way she has your friends and wants an artifact capable of razing countires. If anything the MC should be concerned.

>>
>>428438
We also need to fix our legs.
>>
>>428450
Yeah. Yaga can do this. But she also wants the Orb. So we might have to look elsewhere for leg fixing.
>>
>>428456
We can always attempt to take her up on her first suggestion.
>>
>>428467
Changing into a monster still a bad idea. Also giving Yaga an artifact that can raze a country, also a bad idea. We should get out legs fixed elsewhere.
>>
>>428477
We could always transform into the more human ones.
And I'd rather not delay us being pretty much useless in battle anymore.
>>
>>428477
Also trusting Yaga in general sounds like a bad idea now. I remember Lord of the Rings. You destroy items that can level countries. Not give them to people that want it.
>>
>>428497
Again turning into a monster is a bad idea. That would anger Mother. And angering a vampire of her caliber sounds like a bad idea. Along with pissing off Mother turning into a monster would fail the whole quest we are on. To find the source of true human strength and the surpassing humanities limit. You know our central quest.
Also even if we did want to turn into a monster. Yaga is the one offering it. And she is untrustworthy. Rmember Lord of the Rings. Destroy the Ring, Don't keep it or give it to someone who wants it.
>>
>>428535
And how is she untrustworthy?
>>
>>428535
Finally combat is not all we do. We do a lot of talking and in combat we generally have allies. Failing our central quest to get better at combat sounds like a very poor idea.
Also if Rozalin decides to join us we can still be effective in combat. Cavalry and all that jazz.
>>
>>428535
And how is she untrustworthy?
Also, Mother is a cunt who caused our parents and sister to perish due to her actions.
>>
>>428554
Yaga is untrustworthy because she wants the Sun Orb. The artifact that can level continents and grant massive power. The thing that turned Baeloric into the Destroyer and Azrazzor into a mad Fire Hawk. She want's that. It is not a object of Good. Similar to the one Ring.

Sister is still alive, She ran remember. Also even if she is a bad person she is still a powerful vampire. Angering those is a bad idea.
>>
>>428548
And? During the fight with firebird, Rozalin was knocked away from us, I doubt we want to rely on someone else for us to be able to move.
>>428570
Siegfried's memoirs tell us that she's a kind lady.

Semantics, and we can always attempt to ally the three previous kingdoms against her.

You think about what may happen. It might be nice to have some of your new friends come with you. You first address Rozalin, “Rozalin, I know this may be too much to ask after all that happened, but would you be willing to come with Aki and I to confront Yaga?” She grins, “You don’t have to ask, you are too fun a person to be around.” You then turn to Wilsa and Baeloric. “I sincerly thank you both for all the help you have provided us, but would I be allowed to ask another favor?” The dragon huffs, “You want us to come with you.” “...yes” you resign. “I have my own reasons for not liking that witch but I do not wish to fight so soon after facing Azrazzor, I will rest, but perhaps later I will be able to assist. Wilsa is free to go if she wishes.” She shakes her head. Guess not, she probably wants to be with her father more than anything. You now address the imp and her mother. “I cannot ask you to join us. Though your abilites may prove invaluable we do not wish to put your life, or that of your daughters at risk. I am glad we were able to return her to your care, and we wish you two the best of luck.” The demoness chides, “My, how chivalrous of you.” She pauses, “Though I do find your achievements so far interesting, also I no longer have a home to return to. Perhaps we will tag along in the shadows.” Her daughter asks expectantly, “Does this mean we get to stay?” The mother smiles and nods “Yes” “Yeah!” She jumps giddy. Well, I guess if she wants to she can.

Baeloric, says to you all, “You are no doubt exhausted from today's events, you may rest in my home for the night if you wish. You may need the rest for what may happen with the witch.”

>Rest with the gang in the volcano
>Head out, you need to save your friends as soon as possible.
>>
>>428602
Again Combat is not all we do. We talk and investigate a lot. When we do go into combat we have allies, we are one person in a group. Failing our central quest of growing stronger as a human to gain a edge in combat is a terrible idea.
Finally with Yaga. Siegfried's memories were 500 years ago. Things change. Also giving her the sun orb in general is a bad idea. We would have no need to ally the three kingdoms against her if we don;t give her the Sun Orb. We just want to get our friends back, destroy the sun orb, and then just leave.
>>
>>428626
We should rest for the Night. We are exhausted.
>>
>>428629
We still would like to be able to walk and actually move without assistance.

I mean for Mother for allying the three kingdoms.
Who cares about our central quest, we'd be doing it so we can also be able to actually walk again, not just for an edge in combat.
>>
>>428644
Walking is useful yes. But the current cost is too high. Sun Orb+Yaga=Bad. We can always resolve this problem later, when the cost isn't to high.
Also who cares about our central quest. We do. It gives us purpose and something to do while we wait for a year to pass so we can go back home. Also surpassing Human limits is a pretty damn good quest.
>>
>>428657
Why do you assume we have to give her the Sun Orb, remember her initial thought was to change us into another race.

Oh yes, let's just go back with our parents dead and the killer gets off scot free because she gave us some arbitrary quest.
>>
>>428677
Yes that was her initial thought. Do you really think she will still be offering that now?

Also if you don't to follow our current quest what do you suggest we do then. Growing as a person and getting home sounds like a pretty good quest.
>>
>>428694
Oh yes, let's have the killer get off scotfree to ruin more lives, have our parents die unavenged and return after a year out of nowhere.
>>
>>428709
Again. What is your new idea for a quest. Detail it. Because I still think we should follow what we are doing right now. No one has better options.
>>
>>428717
Surpass Mother, kill her and overthrow her kingdom, and revive all the people she's killed and return home.
>>
>>428728
How do you plan to do this.
Also even if this is our new plan. We still have Yaga to deal with and our friend to rescue. Along with a sun orb to destroy.
>>
>>428750
Use the Sun Orb's power to destroy Mother and her Kingdom, then destroy the Sun Orb.
>>
>>428257
Oh In reference to the Plan. I think we should just walk in and figure it out from there.
>>
>>428760
Using the Sun Orb is a bad idea. It turns you into to people like the Destroyer Baeloric and Azrazzor. Using it would start to corrupt our mind and make us not want to destroy it.
>>
>>428769
It's a test of our willpower, she wanted us to exceed human limits, and she'll get it.
Besides, we rather easily disarmed the Sun Orb from Azrazzor.
>>
>>428769
Or we could get Baeloric to wreck havoc upon her castle, that also works.
>>
>>428781
Yes disarmed the Sun Orb from someone else, with a really good roll mind you Thanks Mastah. But even after that there was this massive Fire Hawk to deal with, a fight we would have lost without Baeloric.
If we want Baeloric to Wreck havoc that requires convincing. He is also very tired and according to our current info doesn't have any problem with Mother or possibly doesn't even know about her.

And even if this is a test of willpower and even if we want to change our quest. That comes later. Right now we need to deal with Yaga,
>>
>>428638

Resting sounds like a good idea. “We’ll stay here for the night, everyone. We have no idea what will happen tomorrow so resting would do us some good.” "I agree,” Aki adds, she seems to be still in sore shape after what happened. Rozalin gives her two cents, “Whatever you think is best.” The imp and her mother appear indifferent. As does Baeloric and Wilsa.

Resting it is, you have some time while doing so though to talk with the new people around you. But you are quite tired and can only probably spend time with one before heading to sleep.

>Baeloric and Wilsa
>Akitani
>The Imp and her mother

You decide to spend some time with Baeloric and Wilsa. It might be a while till you see them again, if at all so might as well use the time you have. “Ahh, young one decide to keep an old man and his daughter company on this night. Baeloric is bathing in the lava and Wilsa is attending him as needed. “Charity to the elderly is just another hobby of mine.” The Dragon laughs, “Hahahaha, it is good to have a sense of humor human especially in your situation. Your kind has always been resiliant, maybe your ability to laugh in the face of danger is one of your many talents.” “I think so,” you answer. There was something that has been bothering you for a while, though, "Baeloric…” “Yes?” “I am sorry if I offened but just how is it that the daughter of a grand black dragon is a minotour, that I assume this might be genes of the mother overpowering the father…” you think, and also hope you didn’t offened. Baeloric takes a second to look at Wilsa, “It is simple, human, she is not my biological daughter.” In fact, I never wanted a family until she came here.” “What do you mean.” He reels his head back, looking out the top of the volcano at the stars in the sky. “Back when I lost my powers as the destroyer I rested here. Biding time, planning revenge and destruction until one day a small girl was forced into the volcano by some mean boys. They forced her to walk through the volcano or else she risked ostracization. Though I think she already was. She was homeless and the local kids only tormented her. Wilsa travels through the forbidden area until she came to me”
>>
>>429131

“Who goes there!” I yelled at her. She cowered and ducked at the voice, but once she saw me rise from the lava she simply said, “Oh so you were the voice Mr. Dragon.” All fear evaporated from her. She was such an innocent and courageous soul. I was shocked at her reaction and after a minute she asked me. “What I was doing here, how was I doing and how long I have been here.” I threatened her to get out or else I would eat her, but she insisted I answer. I answered her questions and her response was “You have been down here that long?! Are you hungry?” “I do not need mortal food, nor do I wish it,” “But it tastes really good.” Again, this little girl surprised me. She was arguing a petty thing with a dragon almost 30x her size. simply walked off saying “bye bye Mr. dragon I’ll be sure to bring some food next time.” I ignored her and went back to sleep. But she kept coming back, every day she came and talked, she brought some food like she promised but gave me much larger portions compared to her. She was homeless and lived on the streets but she decided to feed another rather than herself. I grew interested. “Why do you do this? Come here every day, pester me and give up your own means of survival.” “Because I like you Mr. dragon.” “But I am The Destroyer, razer of towns, the annihilator of people.” “Yes but you haven’t destroyed me.” “But I could right now.” “I reached my claw toward her.” “But you won’t Mr. Destroyer.” “How can you know that?” “Because you are a good person, despite you not believing it.” I thought she was crazy. Me? A good person? Rediculous! “How can you sit there and spout that crap,” I cried. ‘Because, I believe in the good,” she paused, “There is a lot of bad in this world Mr. dragon. I want to fill it with good instead, and I believe everyone can be good.” This girl, who believed in others more than herself, who cared for others more than herself, she didn’t look for the bad in people, only the good. Despite her treatment. I had to know, “Where did you come from and who even are you?” She looked down, “My village was destroyed a few years ago and I came here by myself. That was likely my doing, in fact, I was sure it was my doing. And I thought, “How can my own mad, and hateful destruction create such a tiny earnest life?” It was then that I started to believe in the girl's statements and we began to spend even more time with each other. I changed in that time. With her, I saw the value in life, not destruction and decided that I would remake myself. It honestly surprises me how much influence a small person can have, on forces grandeur than themselves. She asked me some years after we first meet if I had a family of any kind. I didn’t, but she thought that was too sad, and offered to be my family. She has been my daughter ever since.”
>>
>>429139

“Father…” Wilsa looked toward the dragon. Baeloric continued, “Though it would seem that our bond has made her deathly concerned for me, and paranoid as a result.” “I am so sorry for our first encounter” Wilsa apologized. It seems that she spares no expenses when it comes to protecting the one she loves. She means well, and you hope your meeting may help her tone it down.

Thank you Baeloric for everything, We will be leaving in the morning, and I hope we may all meet again.” “As do I human, you have proven yourself a most interesting woman. More interesting that this old dragon, in my opinion, haha.” “I doubt that, haha” You two share a small laugh and head to bed.

While thinking about tomorrow before sleep you dream of tomorrow's encounter with Yaga. The orb must be destroyed and you had no idea what Yaga wanted with it. You think maybe you’ll end up having to wing it when you arrive.

>Write in any final ideas you have for approaching and/or dealing with Yaga

I have to go now, but I may be able to return later in the evening. For now, though discusses the coming encounter.

The morning comes and the time to finally return to Yaga and your friends has arrived. “Thanks again for everything Wilsa, Baeloric.” “No problem young one, I wish you the best of luck.” “Thanks, we may need it.” You and your new group the leave the volcano. “I am glad we will soon be rid of this place.” Aki sighs. Rozalin, the imp, and her mother look at her. “No- don’t get me wrong, it's just… being in constant danger was something we aren’t used to.” She’s half right. “Well I for one am also a bit glad, the few years I spent here were enough for me.” The imps mother adds, “It would be nice to see the world outside the accursed lands,” “yeaaay” The young imp shouts.

With that, you all make your way down. It was a relatively peaceful journey, thankfully. You think on your way back to Yaga’s hut exactly how this is going to go. You gaze at the sun orb in your hands. Its radiance is beautiful, shining brighter than any start in the night sky. Such a beautiful item holds such destructive and evil power… You couldn’t give her the orb, so maybe it would be best not to mention that we have it in the first place? From there, though, we’ll just have to see what happens. You close your eyes and think. You feel a hand on your shoulder and Aki’s soft voice. “It will be okay, I know we’ll be able to get through this.” “Thanks…”

An hour later the witches hut was in distant view and you crossed the borderlands of the two lands once more.

You must be seeing but you could swear you see, victoria chasing… chickens. “Get back here you assholes!” she shouts as she fails to catch even one of them. “GET BACK IN THE PEN YOU FUCKS!” “I already got 5!” Ann yelled behind her. Well, at least that hasn’t changed. “Calm down you two,” Yuki says while she is grooming some of the hens. Finally, you hear another voice from within the chicken coup. “Why do I have to clean this!” You knew that complaining voice anywhere. It seems Yaga put them all to work in exchange for her “hospitality”. “At least they all seem alright." Aki adds, “If they are able to still act like that they should be okay.” Rozalin looks at you. “These are your friends?” “An odd bunch for sure, but I am glad to have them.”

You all walk closer to the hut. Yuki was the first to notice you, “She’s back!” she yells. The others drop what they were doing and run over to you. “Boy are we glad you got back,” Anna says. “FINALLY!” Adrian yells. “He is quite enthusiastic,” Rozalin comments, “maybe he can be enthused in other situations, hehe….” she utters under her breath. “You whisper to her, “Quiet you.”“Who is this and why are you riding her?” Victoria comments. “Everyone this is Rozalin, she helped me in the accursed lands and wish to come with us back here.” “A pleasure,” she bows.” Rozalin was the only one in sight since the imp and her mother became invisible since they only are observing.
>>
>>431335

You sigh, “I am glad to see you are all alright, but I want to get this over with, So where is she?” “She is in her hut of course since she put us to work she has been relaxing every day since you left,” Yuki explains. Adrian adds, “EVERY DAY!” Well, hopefully, she is in a good mood after all the rest. You all walk into her hut. “This is huge!” Rozalin says in amazement. She was as stupefied as you were when you first entered the seemingly tiny home. “Ahh so you return, and with a new friend no less, please come into the dining room, you must be hungry after your trip.” You accept her offer, “Thank you Yaga, not only for the meal but for not harming my friends.” “The only thing they had to fear was you never coming back.” She chuckles, “Otherwise they would be working with the chickens forever, hohoho.” She sets the table for everyone, but you notice she put out two extra plates of food.

Once you are all seated at the table with food in front of you, it was time to begin discussions. “Yaga, I met with Baeloric, but he did not have the orb.” “Truly? That old dragon has had it for quite some time, I assumed he still had it. Do you know where it went?” “Another named Azrazzor took it.” “Hmmm, well that is a shame, but it seems your journey bore some fruit at least.”

Does she really believe you?

“So about my legs…” you start. It was the reason for your quest but without the orb, you don’t know if she will heal your legs or not. “What of them, you seem to have found a nice set of legs. You even have four now! Hohoho” “Although Rozalin was nice enough to let me ride her I would like my legs back if possible,” “Feeling insignificant?” “No of course not.” “Then you want your legs for convenience.” “In a way…” “Well that is why I sent you for the orb, but given events, we might be able to work out something… later.”

“Yaga, would it be okay if we all just leave then?” “If you wish but, I would have to ask you what you plan to do with the orb?” You went cold. “What? But I told you we didn’t have the orb.” “That you did, but you were lying." “How could you even know that.” “You seem to be forgetting our first encounter when we discussed your legs.” At that time she was able to read your mind in some way and discern that you lost your legs due to saving Mari. Yaga’s smiling face was across from you. “No need to be alarmed child I simply want to know what you are going to do with it. If you don’t give it to me I won’t fix your legs, but why you would want to keep the thing is unknown to me.”

Yaga looks around, "Also, you can at least allow our two extra guests to sit and eat a growing imp needs to eat hearty."

“You can come out you two.” The mother releases her invisibility spell and appears before the room. “Who is that!” you group demands. “No need to fear while in the accursed lands we rescued the woman's daughter and since then she decided to follow us.” “Why?” “She wants to…” Victoria huffs, “Great.” The mother stands up tall. “Allow me to introduce ourselves. My name is Nessera and this is my daughter Serena. They young imp waves. “We hope that we may not intrude too much in your affairs.” Great… your party is focusing on the new “additions” you return to Yaga.

“I want to destroy it.” “You do? why?" “Because it is a dangerous object that grants the power to destroy but a the cost of, everything. Baeloric told me, and I saw it personally when we faced Azrazzor. I want such a dangerous artifact destroyed.” Yaga reclines in her chair. “That would be quite difficult. The orb is an ancient and powerful tool, almost as old as me! Hoho. It would take ancient magics to destroy it.” “Does that mean, it is impossible?” “No, just difficult since no one alive today knows how. Well, besides me.” You ask, “Will you destroy it?” “That could only happen if you let me see it.”

Yaga seems to be offering to destroy the cursed item.

You pull the orb out. Your party gazes at its glow, “Woah…” Yuki gasps. It radiates such a warm glow that you would never guess that such an object would contain such destructive and life sucking power. Yaga begins, “Truly a beauty isn’t it?” You respond, “You can look for now Yaga but I don’t trust you enough to hand it over.” “hohoho, still concerned, are we? That is very good in this land, but my not harming your friends I think may be proof enough of my sincerity.” “After I give you the orb, I don't know what you will do with it, I can’t take that risk, but you can at least examine it.” “I suppose it will have to do,” Yaga stands up and makes her way over to you. She raises her hands and moves them erratically over the orb. Runes appear all around it but none you have ever seen. After a minute Yaga begins to speak again, “I was correct it will take powerful and ancient magics to destroy this object, I could do it, but since you don’t trust me you would have to find another way. How you do that…. I have no idea.”

“Let's return to the discussion of your legs.” Yaga returns to her seat. “Despite your refusal to admit it when you first had it out of fear you did bring the orb I requested. I can heal your legs. “What?!” you were shocked. “But I didn’t give you the orb?!” “No, but you did bring it.” This doesn’t make sense, don’t people ask you to get an item because they want it? “Then why did you ask for this?” “Because it was a fancy of mine.” “A MERE FANCY?!” you slam your fists into the table. “We went in there, were attacked constantly, fought and somehow made our way through a giant mountain. Fought a giant Firehawk. All for this orb and you don’t even want it?!” Yaga sighs, “Well I do want it, but you won’t give it to me so it can't be helped.” No words can express what you are feeling right now. Anger, confusion, shock, all of those words contribute but none of them properly describe your feeling.

“Why are you doing all of this?” You had to know. She had a solemn look on her face, “Truth be told, it is because this old witch has seen something, something is coming. I don’t know what, but I can feel it. And if you the only people who have managed to meet me in 500 years, there must be… something, some reason. For that, I wished to do something.” “So the orb itself never mattered?” “It has yet to be seen, whether or not it is important.” So she sent you on a quest, so that you could just go on a quest and the orb was a bonus? “Yaga, what would you want to do with the orb?” “I would want it to stay out of the hands of what is coming, you all might have a part of what is happening, but what role you’ll play is unknown.” So she wants the orb to be out of whatever might happen. Or so she says.

“How would you even heal my legs.” “Ancient magics,” she stated simply. There are more modern versions, but the result is the same result. I’ll just have to whip up a poultice.

No.
>>
>>432635
Yeah thinking about it further. We should keep it with us.
>>
Be back in a while things came up. probably around 9pm PST
>>
Give her the own we are weak and we could easily get it stolen from us. Plus part of Baba Yaga backstory is occasionally helping heroes.
>>
>>432674
Or. This is a difficult decision. Both are good choices. On one hand we have the orb with us which is safe. On the other Hand Yaga has turned out quite nice.
Yeah. Ok. Enough going back and forth. I vote give her the orb.
>>
Keeping the orb is more likely to lead to a bad end or being corrupted by it. Also Baba Yaga won't use it since she doesn't need that thing power anyway.

Why you guys want to keep the orb anyway?

It screams bad idea, that's why right? You want to see how badly we will mess up?
>>
>>433121
Nah, we'll be fine.
>>
>>433121
My Initial though was to keep so that we at least know it is safe because it with us.

But thinking about if further. Yaga has been quite nice, and it seems like she just wants to keep the orb out of the way of stuff. So I'm for leaving it with her now.
>>
>>433121
>>433131
And besides, it's a just in case if we get in a really tight spot.
It's a nice trinket to have if we have a container for it to prevent corruption.

Also, voting to keep the orb.

Yeah we will be as fine as the frog that helped the scorpion to cross the river (hint: the scorpion poisoned the frog in the middle of crossing the river and they both drowned)

It's for using in a life or death scenario, where the other option is literally only death.
We should ask Yaga if the Sun Orb has influence even if you carry it/
>>
We mentally compared rhe thing to the one ring yet we still wanted to keep it?

Yeah I think the orb is influencing us already.

Also that thing side effects are very nasty. If we want something for a rainy day let's just go back with the old man and train our magic for a few months.

"Can the orb corrupt just by holding it?" You wanted to know. Yaga answers, "I am not sure, though after the use it will slowly drain the user. It may do so without the initial use, though. I am unsure."

Back and writing next update. Want a final vote for the orb.

>Keep the Sun Orb

By the time we need to bust a continent we hopefully will have better options. And no I wasn't sugesting training our magic for a few months will let us kill a continent just let's us kill our enemies easier.

And if we are that desperate someone here got a boucher they have not used yet.

Also was the mention of the one ring really ooc? I think I will have to read past threads again.

But if we haven't at least watched the movie or at the very least read about the Lord of the rings in wikipedia is very sad.

Heck Lord of the rings gets referenced a lot even before the movies were made.

And even without the one ring references we did saw what the orb does and were told how dangerous and evil it is.

Plus we already were berated for not thinking things enough and helping in a genocide.

It was not a situation were more power would have helped.

So besides the fact we were crippled I want an IC justification for wanting to keep the orb based in how have we been acting so far.

Since for me it feels like we would prefer a way to be wiser to avoid something like the genocide happening again.

Sometimes you want to guarantee someone dies nigh instantly or to prevent you or your friend's death.

Yes. We have no proof that it influences us if it is not used. And there is no benefit not keeping it.

It's a failsafe as we nearly died at one point, we might not be lucky next time.

Better to have it and not need it then to not have it and need it.
>>
Note that we have several party members to prevent the stealing of the orb, that Yaga is lying to us, that we have almost died a few days ago, that we know not if the orb influences us if not used and that the orb has awesome power in a life or death scenario like before.

“Okay…” “Very well,” Yaga gets up and walks into an adjacent room. Victoria objects to this, “Are you really going to trust someone who just sent you into a strange land for fun?!” “I will for now. She has been nice to you all until this point”, Adrian says under his breath, “except the chickens.” Aki seems a little concerned, “If you say so.”

Yaga comes out after a few minutes with a potion in hand. “Here we are, this will fix your legs up.” “Thank you Yaga.” you grab the potion and begin drinking. You feel feeling come back to your legs, but the most intense feeling is pain. You yell in agony, “Aaaaahhhh!”. Your friends spring to their feet,“What are you doing!” Anna yells at Yaga. “Fixing your friends legs. It is however not a pleasant process as the broken parts of the body disintegrate and regrow from within.” “Ahhhhh!” You feel bones shatter within your body and reform. It was truthfully a lot like your regeneration, but this was much more aggressive. It was over in only a few minutes, but you feel like you just ran a marathon and you were not moving anytime soon. “So does this mean that she?” “Has her legs back, yes. I just hope that she will make proper use of them.” “You really don’t want to move, but your friends look like the all want to leave.

Let's ask them what they did while we were gone and if something amusing happened.

Rest and discuss. Catch up friends on all the Happened. Dragon Friend. Fire Bird. The "Man". Ask if Yaga knows anything about the "Man". Also see if Yaga can tell us more about this something that is coming.

We should rest and catch up with everyone. “We’ll stay here for one more night.” There was a collective groan from all your friends besides your three new ones. You are sure they understood, but being here and working with chickens for multiple days must have been annoying for them. Yaga stood up, “I will prepare a room,” She walks into a room in the house. *flash* She steps out, “Done.” “Thank you again Yaga.” you say while your body is hugging the hut floor. “c’mere “ Yuki picks you up along with Anna and Aki and they carry you into the prepared room. It was rather nicely furnished. Even beds fro everyone and a special one just for you, extra padding and braces for your legs.

You probably wouldn’t be doing much moving so you’ll have to talk with everyone from here. After dinner, your friends gathered around you in bed and you were able to properly catch up now that things were settled. Yuki asks, “So what exactly happened up there? And what about these people?” she points to the Serena, Nessera, and Rozalin. You take a deep breath and begin to explain as much as you could about the last couple days. There were jumps and gasps especially when you got to the part about the ghost town and Azrazzor. Adrian was particularly enterained, “God that is so cooool! A dragon and everything!” Rozalin laughs at his reaction, “Have you not lived here long? The plane is home to incredible creatures, a dragon is no stretch at all.” “Yeah, but… still…” “No need to pout… you're going to make me think I did something to upset you. “N-N-No, I Just..” “Hehehe” Oh you can tell she is gonna tease Adrian for all he is worth. Especially after what she already tried with you. You finish your story and your friends seem to be in shock. “So they have decided to tag along, because?” “Because I asked Rozalin too, Nessera and Serena wanted to come.” “Huh,” Victoria squares up Rozalin and Nessera. "Well I don't trust em..." Nessera doesn't try to defend herself.

“So what about you guys? What happened in the past couple days.” to your question your friends hang their heads, “Hell,” they mutter. “What happened.” “Chickens… just… everyday… chickens…” Adrian seemed to be experiencing PTSD from something that happened literally today. Yuki begins to explain in a bit further detail, “It was tough but we came up with a good system for care based on everyone's strength. Victoria wrangled due to her physical capabilities, Anna, did the same buck was able to catch more efficiently with her magics. I made sure all of them were healthy thanks to my specialties in healing, and Adrian cleaned the chicken coup because we told him to.” You catch yourself laughing at that last comment. “Sooo… many… feathers… “no, it's okay Yuki I can… take care off…””
>>
>>433473

Rozalin was already teasing Adrian and would probably fit right in. Nessera kept quiet, though. She did not say much beyond the occasional, “Yes, no”. She didn’t seem all too interested in your friends. Serena, on the other hand, was playing with Aki and by extension the rest of the gang. At one point she jumped onto Aki's back and while she slithered all around she played a small game of tag. “Hey that’s not fair” Victoria yelled. Akitani was the fastest on land besides maybe Rozalin and couldn’t catch up to the two to make a proper tag. At least people are getting along as best they can.

Yaga walked in after a while and asked. “So how does everyone feel? Was the room spacious enough for your game?” she looked at Aki and Victoria. “Hohoho,” This was another opportunity to talk with your host. “Yaga, you said before that something was coming… is there anything more you can tell us.” Her cheerful demeanor changed to a much more somber one. “Not much I am afraid. I saw a brief vision of cataclysmic events, but unspecific. Sometimes the lands break, other times society collapses. It isn’t consistent besides that I keep feeling and seeing it. “Alright, What about the “Man” of the accursed lands.” He was always mentioned but never explained, not to mention his supposed room was straight out of your world in terms of technology. “The “No-Named Master of the Tower”?” Quite a mystery he is. He seems to influence the plane, but no one has ever seen him, only mention him. Its like he doesn’t let anyone know he physically exists.” “But he has too, I saw his creations and fought with his pet Firehawk.” I am not saying he doesn’t exist it is just difficult to know much about a man people have never seen. His actions, however, show him to be a cold, unfeeling master that destroys for seemingly no reason. I am of the belief that there is always a method to the madness, but his actions suggest largely madness.” Nesserra holds her daughter a little closer during this conversation. “I have known of this man for hundreds of years, but only that he exists. Who he is, why he does what he does, and how are all mysteries.”

This must be really something if Yaga doesn’t even have that good of information. Either he works really hard to hide his everything, or he is truly just a name to a force. It is time to rest, though. You spend the next few hours spending pleasant company with your friends and soon enough night comes. You fall asleep soundly and were having a pleasant time sleeping until. You start to feel something. You don’t want to acknowledge it and try to sleep through it. Probably just a small body tremor. No big deal. But then you hear, “Hey, I get to finally thank you properly and you won’t even wake up to receive it?” You slowly open your eyes, It would appear that Nessera is on top of you and licking your neck.

“Finally awake are we?” she teases

“Uh, Nessera, what are you doing?” She continues, “I told you I am thanking you properly for keeping my daughter safe. Don’t worry this will only take a moment” She keeps licking your neck. It honestly tickles a little, “Nessera, please this isn’t necessary I am glad we could help your daughter but you don’t need to go this far.” She ignores you and continues. You reach up with your arm to try and stop her but it stops in mid-air. Nobody stopped it, not even you. You just all of a sudden couldn’t move it, wait... You can’t move anything except your mouth. “What did you do?” She smiles, “Make it so we could have a proper "talk."

To be continued.

Is this the style of talking where not much talking is done but instead it involves a workout the uses your entire body. Because I don't want to do that, right now.

But if this is the style of talking where we use our mouths to communicate then that is good. Few talking points, why can't I move my body, What is this reward you are talking about, also what are you planning on doing now that the situation with Yaga is done.
>>
If she tries something we don't like we could use death magic to make her back off, is not like we need to move to just radiate it around our body, right?

Maybe you can just ignore this and hope she stops. You yawn, “ahh, you’re not Aki” and then you pretend to fall asleep again. “How rude!” You feel a bite on your neck. “Ahhh!” Nessera seems to be upset at you despite she being the one who put you in this position. “I am not just doing this for fun you know, I did want to talk with you too.” “About what?” “About what is going to happen after what just occurred.” “You mean Yaga?” “Indeed.” “You elected to keep the orb that destroyed my life and spared the infernal bird that used it.” She again bites your neck.“I can’t say I am very happy about that. You still saved my daughter however so I will service you, but I must say for a girl who claims to be so young you have a rather mature body.” She runs her hands down your torso and back up again. “Stop... it…” “Truthfully I can tell by your actions and demeanor that you and your friends are trouble, and walk a dangerous path. You didn’t need to befriend a dragon to tell me that. My daughter has taken a liking to you all, and wants to stay but it is far too dangerous for her.” “So you want to leave?” “Up for debate… I have noticed that you are very intriguing and I want to know more.” “More of what?” “Of you.” She starts sucking on your neck. You felt a feeling, but you couldn’t understand it. Was it a good feeling? Your mind wondered but you need to bring attention to the matter at hand. “Then why paralyze me and do this?” “Because I am thanking you for saving my daughter. And you seem to be the type excited by positions of disadvantage” You don’t like where this is going. You start to radiate death magic to repel her from your body.

She jumps back. “My how nasty,” she licks her lips. “Then we shall continue our conversation from here, though it may be less enjoyable for you. “I am debating on staying with you all, but I need to know more. She takes out a breath. “What are your plans? You and your friends aren’t native here so why stay? Do you really plan to destroy the orb or do you wish to use it?” You were confused, “What is the point of these questions?” “For you to answer them.”

Well then,

Plans. Currently Grow in power and strength along with make connections with the people. As Yaga said something is coming. We need to be ready and we need to be strong. We also need to be strong in order to fix our plane. Or at least that is what Mother has said.

We are staying here because we can't leave. We are stuck here until the next full Lunar eclipse.

Yes we plan to destroy to Orb. Something this powerful should be in no ones hands.

“We need to get stronger and make connections, Yaga said something was coming and we need to be ready. We cannot leave until the next full lunar eclipse and I do plan to destroy the orb. I just don’t trust Yaga completely to do it.” “Interesting.” The demoness floats around you. “If you do plan to destroy that thing, I would make it the top priority. Its very existence disgusts me and I fear that terrible and ancient magics radiate from it. Also, you wish to grow strong? For a child your age you are already quite powerful, but you fear it is not enough? This event Yaga describes intrigues me, but it also involves me as the breakdown of all society is indiscriminate.” The demoness seems to be in thought. “Hmmm, I have decided that my daughter and I will follow you all for now, but that is all we will do. Your will not include us. And we will only stay until you manage to destroy the orb and we find a place to settle.” Is this a good thing? It sounds like you are getting another Mother to watch you. At least this one comes with a friendly kid and you enjoy her company. “If this interrogation is over can I go back to sleep.” “You should be able to, the paralysis will last only for a couple more minutes.” The demoness simply leaves without saying anymore. How nonchalant, you have no idea what to even think of her at this point. Other than she wants the best for her child and the orb destroyed.

After her interrogation, you try to head back to the land of dreams. You think you are safe there, but instead, you are greeted by another more consistent visitor. “You have been quite busy darling, did you enjoy the Accursed lands?” You were once again seated at a dark cafe table with the lord vampire herself. You scoff,“Not really.” “But you made so many new friends! It honestly makes Mother jealous!” You really wanted to sleep and weren’t in the mood for this after what just happened, “Mother, just let me sleep already, too much has happened recently,” she giggles, but then she returns to her serious persona. “Yaga’s premonition. I want you to keep an eye out for anything overly suspicious. I will be keeping watch with you of course but you should be able to understand it yourself, If not you better learn.” You were honestly a little concerned yourself, “Do you think this might have to do with the potential collapse of the mortal plane?” “I know it does, but who, how, when, and where is the important part.” she taps her fingers on the table. “Well, I should let you rest darling, your legs will be quite sore in the morning and you do deserve a good night of sleep. She waves at you as your vision of the scene slowly fades to black.
>>
>>438866

Morning came, and despite your many interruptions, you managed to get a decent night of sleep. Mother was right, your legs did hurt, but…. You can move them!! It hurts like hell to walk, but you need to in order to build up strength in your leg muscles again. You may be able to regenerate, but not using limbs for periods of time will still cause minor pain. Not to mention that terrible leg twister you were in last night. You address everyone in the morning. “Morning everyone, we should head out and continue our journey to the Aizu River,” Adrain seems excited, “Finally, we can leave!” “What are you talking about young man, I always need a hand with cleaning the coup outside.” Yaga appeared behind the young man and he jumped straight over to the other side of the room. “Hohoho, do not mind my humor boy, but if you are ever in need of a job you have one here.” “Thank…. You….” he barely managed to say that.

“Yaga, thank you for everything these past few days,” “No problem dear, I just hope you make the right decisions when the time come.” You aren’t sure exactly what she means but after saying proper goodbyes to Yaga you all head out once again to travel.

Your journey on the northern plains progresses, but you have to admit your party size is getting quite large. Who knew when you came here that you would befriend so many of the locals in some manner or another. And that those locals would travel with you. As you were contemplating you see something on the rise ahead of you. A flock of what you think are birds flying in your direction. They are flying quite low to the ground, however, and they seem to be a bird species of some sort. Could it be the sirens again?!

Stay on the defensive and let us see if they pass. If they don't pass, let us try to talk
>>

Hopefully, they aren’t here to bother you, better stay on the defensive though and continue on as you have been. “Guys I see some kind of a bird species flying toward us.” Victoria answers immediately, “Got it." Victoria holds out her hand. "Anna.” Anna manifests a spear into Victoria’s hand she winds up for a toss. You catch her arm, “No wait! They might not be the sirens. Just stay on guard and hopefully they won’t bother us.” Yuki speaks up, “You do realize that almost everytime you say that, they bother us.” She’s got you there.

The harpies are approaching you now. You hold your ground until they stop in front. One of them starts to speak up. “So, are you gonna move or….” What is she talking about? Are we in her way? You look confused at what she is asking. She begins again, “Listen we just wanted to pass so we can keep searching and its pretty hard when you are blocking our path.” Path? This is an open plain, and they have wings! “I am afraid I don’t follow,” “Look are you gonna move or not?” They can’t seriously be asking this. But you need to make sure, “One quick question. What is two plus two?” She tilts her head. It doesn’t seem like she understands your question. You try again, “If you had two rocks and then you got another two rocks, how many rocks do you have?” “A bunch of rocks.” Dear god, she’s an idiot. “Listen, I didn’t come here to be questioned, I am just looking for a girl with a colorful entourage and I was told to fly along this path.

Wait could she mean? You point to yourself, “You don’t mean… me right?” The harpy pauses. “Hmmm,” she looks at your party. “HOLY SHIT!” she yells. It is you, wonderful come this way, please. She starts flying off back in the direction she came from expecting you to follow. “Wait you need to answer some things first?!” “WHAT?! I CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER THE WIND WE’LL TALK LATER COME NOW”

Why does this always happen? Victoria comments from the side, “I still got that spear ready.” You wave her off, “No if they were malicious they would have attacked and then take us back forcefully, we can probably follow them for now.” Anna comments, “That is if they don’t fly away from us,” “Shit!” You hopped onto Rozalin for speed and you all start running off after them.

After nonstop running for about an hour the harpies finally stop. The one from earlier just turns and looks at you, “So uhh… who are you?” Is she serious? “We are the ones who you said to follow you, remember?” “No, I remember looking for a girl with a colorful entourage and-” you again point to yourself, “HOLY SHIT!” Holy shit is right. You plead, “Now will you please just answer some questions.” “Sure, why didn’t you ask sooner?” You grit your teeth, “What is going on? And who/why is someone looking for us.” “Um, I was looking for you….duh?” She looks at you like your stupid. This is starting to get really irritating, “Okay, so WHY?!” “Because the Queen wanted to talk with you about a thing.” “A thing?” “THE thing.” seems like you have to fish for the answer, “The thing?” “That is what I am saying.” Well, you should have known better by now. “Fine then take us to this queen of yours." “Are you sure?” Aki slithers behind you, "we always seem to rush into whatever is placed in front of us, shouldn’t we think this over?”

You don’t think these idiots could be malicious, they don’t have the capacity for that it seems. But Aki’s concern is well founded.

>>
>>439258
Those are basically greek sirens and we probably saw the Odysseus movie on TV or at least the cartoon version.
>>
>>439258
The only great difference of herpies and greek myth sirens seem to be that sirens have mind controlling voice and for all we know the queen could be an hybrid or have that power somehow.

I mean voice based mind control yes. But that also only really worked on men, of which we have one. Also Sirens were generally associated with the Sea. We are in the Plains. (Antone knows how long until we level up again? I want to raise feminity since we need to be smarter and maybe we could finally get a +1 in rolls were we think things)
>>

You guys did after the whole Firehawk thing and at the end of that arc. I will make a new thread tomorrow and Will post the level up post in there. Just so we can get maximum input.
>>
>>439358

(I dunno if the level up should be done when the thread starts as there is less people then. Just in case I want to increase feminity and try to get wis and and int bonuses in rolls if possible.)
>>
>>439367
I was planning to do it at the end of the first day of the thread, not immediately as it starts.

>>439376
That works. Do we have a leadership bonus, we keep collecting more followers than certain spiderbutt...

“Okay, we will meet with the Queen.” You hear a whisper behind you “Anna, keep that spear ready.” Hopefully, it won’t come to that. You all head into what you assume was the harpies village or town. Turns out it was in the north Felwood forest. Last time you came here involved unpleasant experiences with Arachne and dark elves. Hopefully, this one will go a bit better. You decide to keep your guard up the whole time regardless. You are guided into the village by the birdbrain. She turns to you all and announces, “The Queen is in the big tree we will take you there.” Makes sense. Having a look around this place reminds you a lot of the siren village in the Eversong Forest, but there is a lot less… slavery. You follow your guide and sooner or later you reach the tall tree and enter at a door in its base.

The door opened to an audience chamber at the center of the tree with a spiral staircase winding up the trees interior. You look to the center where you see a majestic harpy sitting on an ornate branch and she addresses your guide. “Ahh, so you have returned Melo. Did you actually find them this time?” “Yes yer majesty,” she salutes the Queen. “Last time you said that and you brought a butterfly.” “It’s an honest mistake…” You sure hope it isn’t. Melo continues, “But this time, I really got them, see?” she motions to your group. “Well, that only took a couple tires, good job Melo you can go back to patrol.” “Yes, yer majesty,” Melo bows, nearly falls over and then leaves. Leaving you and your group alone with the Queen.

She looks at you but doesn’t say anything. It's a little awkward. “So…. we heard you wanted to talk with us.” “Indeed.” Again nothing. “Abouuuuutttt?” “About? No, it concerns the Grey Mountains across the Aizu River.” “Ahh, sooooooooooo?” “Oh yes, I should explain.” She adjusts her seating and reaches to pull out something inside her wing or something. The Wolves and goblins of the mountains have gone completely silent and we need people to see what happened. Our trade with the mountains is integral to our village and we need to restore relations as quickly as possible.” “Your majesty that is reasonable, but why not send some of your people to check and why did you specifically go to find me?” “Oh shoot! I could have done that!” She seems to be in shock. “But, I wanted to find you because you have gained a reputation around the plane.” “I have?” “Yes, the wandering humans of the Astral Plane as you are called. A group of adventurers willing to go to any lengths to solve the problems of others.” She wasn't exactly wrong and there was that one time when you accidently helped kill a lot of people and destroy a village. She continues, “After hearing about you I figured you would be perfect for the job. So what do you say?”

I will answer basic questions for a little bit, otherwise an official post will be up tomorrow at 6pm PST when I start the new thread.
>>
>>439420
Questions. Where are the Goblins located in the Mountains. What do you trade with them. How have the goblins acted previously. Can you speculate/guess why the goblins have stopped trading. How have relations been with the goblins previously. Also how did you hear of us.
>>
>>439427
Oh also what is your name.
>>
>>439420
"And are you gonna pay us?"

We need more money plus only idiots do everything for free.

"I am Queen Kanon and the goblins are located all along the mountains. They built intricate underways throughout the mountain belt. At least so I have heard. We trade minerals mountain spring water for our crops and ornate creations. like the tree branch I was just sitting on. Previously the goblins acted as they always had been, though some of the traders seemed nervous when they last dealt with us a few weeks ago. As for why the sudden break in trading I have no idea, perhaps internal strife on their end or external shift from a thrid party. Before the break our relationship had been the same as it was for the past 150 years, and we were on just as well terms as back then." Your last question she seems to think to herself a second. "Hmm, where did I hear about you guys. Oh, that's right. there was a wanderer from the siren village in the Eversong. Apparently they were there during your daring escape. Or so I am told."
>>
>>439463
Sure we can pay you with some of our Ornate crafts. Some of it is made out of strong material that can be fashioned into fine weapons, armor, trinkets etc. Other than that the are quite dazzling works of jewel crafting and you could likely sell them for a high price."
>>
>>439474
"Armors and weapons would be nice. We are a tad lacking on them as you can see."
>>
>>439470
Do you know where these underways are located. What do you mean by Ornate Creations, like figurines and stuff. Any guess as to why the traders were nervous a few weeks ago. Any sort of big danger pop up recently or any wars being declared?

Op went to sleep?

By the way, someone should archive this thread. I know autosav kicks after page ten but we got half of the previous quest here and I don't wanna lose it.

I passed out, and had work as soon as I woke up. Sorry about that.

"You seem to have entricit if not "unique" items with your coral based weapons. Also our weapons are limited, beyond basic arms. Unless you wanted your weapons or armor to shine with jewels we can't help as of right now."

>>439482
"I have no idea where these underways may be located. our people fly to the mountain and never have need to use them." She once again points to her ornate tree branch, "Similar ornate wares such as this, we can also make figurines and the like." She stops to think for a second, "I honestly don't know they just seemed off, no big danger popped up that isn't the usual with the borderlands of the Accursed Lands. It did seem like the traders were in a hurry too."

Official post will still be in new thread but I wanted to finish these questions. I do archive all threads when I make new ones, don't worry.
>>
I should ask before the new thread. Are you going to accept or refuse her quest?
>>
>>441428
Accept. This doesn't look to shady. Like the Goblins are acting Shady and we should find out why.
