Welcome young one. What would you like to learn of today? Will it be the victories of the Ultramarines? The might of the Imperial Fists? The unstoppable forces of the Blood Angels? The cunning and skill of the Dark Angels? Or something else entirely...

>Choose your gene-father:
1 - Lion el' Jonson - +5 AV when attacking Chaos forces, access to Jetbike units
2 - Jaghatai Khan - +5 AV when attacking an urban base, access to Storm Rider units
3 - Rogal Dorn - +5 DV on base defense, access to Templar units
4 - Sanguinius - +1 AV on all melee units, access to Death Company units

7 - Salamanders - +1 AV on all flamer or melta-gun Tactical squads, access to Pyroclasts

Maybe I don't know Space Marines well enough, but couldn't we roll Unknown Primarch and get a random ability?

Ah, so you wish to hear of one of the proud sons of Dorn, do you? But of which age? There are many of them, beware.

Ah, one of the chapters of that Cursed Founding, in the 36th millennium. Yes, their gene-seed was flawed in some way. Now then, what were they like? I know I have a book on that somewhere...

>Swift as the wind - -1 turn arrival for reinforcements.
>Purity above all - +1 AV on all units when attacking mutants.
>Scions of mars - -5 req on vehicle costs
>Suffer not the alien to live - +1 AV on all units when attacking xenos.
>Suffer not the works of heretics - +1 AV on all units when attacking chaos or renegades.

Yes, these Marines were great friends of the Mechanicus. But, all chapters have their flaws, both physically and socially.

These sons of Dorn had pale skin and believed in ancestral worship, setting them apart from their brother chapters. Hmm now who was their hero? I know it's around here somewhere...

Ah yes, their hero had a natural affinity of navigating the warp, and it proved his downfall, as he was eventually lost in the Warp.

Now then, what was their homeworld like? This library is do disorganized - I blame the servitors.

>Roll 1d100 for Homeworld Terrain

Ah yes, they lived on an Hive World, giving them many new recruits.

>Hive World - -5 Req for Neophytes

It was a...Emperor damn it this book doesn't say. I know I have an updated copy somewhere....

>Roll 1d100 for Terrain. All Space Marine units gain +1 AV in that terrain.

>>434076

>>434154
Yes, they had a harsh terrain, full of ice. These sons of Dorn were adapted however and it was just like home to them.

Now then, what was their specialization? I think it was Drop pods, or maybe it was assault...

>Choose a specialization, it increases the AC of the corresponding unit by 2.

-CQC - Assault Squads
-Ranged - Tactical Squads
-Armored - Predators
-Fast Attack - Bikes
-Drop Pods - All deep striking units
-Siege - All Artillery

These Space Marines were masters of the teleport, the drop pod, and other methods of deep strike. Now, I know there was something different about them, it's in this book somewhere...

>Choose a unique Trait
- Traditional weapon (Choose one) - All squad sergeants are equipped with special weapon for free
- Rare armory - All weapon upgrades are -5 Req
- Special mount - Vanguard squads may become mounted
- Vehicle Mod (choose one) - +1 AV on chosen vehicle for +5 Req

The chapter had a great collection of rare weaponry, especially Assault Cannons.

Now, all chapters have their enemies and allies. Who were there's?

>Choose an ally and a nemesis. You require -5 Req to request a unit from the ally. Your forces have +5 AV against your nemesis forces.

>Allies
- Defense Forces (Arbites, PDF, local Astra Militarum)
- Inquisition (Adeptus Sororitas, Grey Knights, Deathwatch, Tempestus, Inquisitors)
- Administratum Branches (Astropaths, Astra Telepathica, Rogue Traders, Imperial Navy, Captains)
- Mechanicum (Titanicus, Skitarri)

>Enemies
- Orks
- Eldar
- Tyranids
- Chaos
- Dark Eldar
- Tau
- Rak'gol
- Necrons

+Inquisition

Huh, I don't know what the Rak'gol are. What're they?

Also, I was under the impression most Imperium forces didn't draw distinctions between Eldar/Dark Eldar. (Especially given the pirates that straddle the line to blur the difference nicely)

Hmm, it seems while the general agreement is that they were great friends with the Mechanicum, there are some disputes over who their greatest foe was. Some say it was the Tyranid splinter fleet Chimaera, but others say it was the Craftworld Yggdrasil. Well, I guess it up to us to interpret.

Yes, Tyranids make more sense.

Well tomorrow we'll talk about this chapter, the Icy Vale! Right now, you should go home to your father. I wouldn't want the wrath of Creed on me.
>>
All right that's the end of the thread. You have 30 minutes to ask questions before the thread dies.
>>
>>435202
Why did you have to waste an entire thread just to set up a thread that should be going by now?
>>
I'd like to keep this thread clean for archiving before the quest starts. Also I neglected to check the Web and apparently there's an entire system called Chapter Master quest. So instead, this is now Manage a Chapter quest.
>>
Alright, thread is now closed.
