Miellewds-guy here.

We've got a ton of stuff to do.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Vizier of the Alquian Empire, and if he's got any inkling of the Hell that is going to rain down upon him when the Heavenly Imperial invasion fleet is ready.

Okay

btw, Hawks = War-loving faction while Doves... well, its pretty self explicative, right?

***

Alquia, capital of the Eastern Colonial Vice Kindom. Early in the morning

In the old palace, the day begins early every day. The janissary guards were already at their posts as the servants and slaves began to stirr and move about in their beds.

The bright sun felt enormous, looming over the horizon like the promise of a scalding day, shining against the golden peaks of the many towers and roofs in the old city.

Outside, the city was already awake and alive, with merchants opening their stores and beggars resuming their daily toll with professional ease, and the caravans that had arrived at the city gates through the night began the paperwork required to be admitted into the city of a thousand suns.

Over the palace, a white, green and black flag waved in the wind, while the imperial gryphon knights groomed and fed their steeds in the upper floor of the aviary, ready to begin their daily patrol and monster extermination around the city and its surrounding region.

An old man stands at the edge of the Sea of Stars, watching as brand new, rockit-powered ships swiftly cross the entrance to the bay, loading and unloading goods at the brand new, massive docks that, by his word, had recently been repaired and expanded threefold, in preparation for the hundreds of ships that were expected to make use of the docks, now that the vice kingdom's court matters had finally been set right.

He was a lawgiver, a betrayer, a statesman, an assassin, a traitor, and ultimately, a patriot. He had encouraged the hawks to war, and supported them (with token effort) in order to get them out of the courts, the senate and the empire at large, sending them north as a mighty army that was naught but a tiny fraction of the empire's true might, yet just large enough to appeal to their egos and delusions of self importance, in order to pave the way for the new generation to prosper and bloom, delivering unto them a kingdom of scholars, philosophers, statesmen, artists and merchants, free from the violent and wasteful tendencies of the previous generation, that constantly dreamt of war and conquest, and were oh-so-eager to march north to fight against a coalition of young nations eager for freedom.

It was 7 years ago that he, Alim Al Safi ars Maj al Din, a monkey-tribe man serving in the prestigious post of Vizir of the Eastern Colonies, had similarly stood in that very same spot, and watched the hawks leave port.

It was a mighty navy, carrying a glorious army. Fated to fail, by his hand.

It was his hand, that penned the speech that so fervently roused the hawk's spirits, and convinced them that, rather than wasting time fighting the doves for scraps in the empire's table, they should mobilize north to secure and conquer the unruly colonies that so long ago had declared independence and grown into large states without support from the true capital.

It was his hand that signed the decree assigning the entirety of the Eastern Colonial Army to the hawks as they mobilized north.

It was also his hand that had just a few months prior, re-distributed the troops and resources of the army corps, mobilizing 80% of the traditional Eastern Colonial Army into the new Alquian Imperial Army, without anyone knowing or noticing, quoting monster hordes and pirates as the cause of such troop movement.

It had taken him 50 years to organize the army in such a way that not even the highest generals knew the whole picture any more, with garrisons, patrols, army branches and sub armies so numerous that a Eastern Army Branch general would be honestly, truly, completely certain that the 12 army corps being dispatched to the north was the full might of the Alquian military, simply because his signature was at the bottom of the order saying so.

It was his hand that destroyed the reports of northern riders hareasing supply convoys, and continued to write letters of encouragement to rise the fighting spirit of the doomed hawks as they continued to smash against the iron will of their enemies' leader, the Grand Marshall of the Protectorate.

And it was his hand, that firmly held that of his best friend while they smiled and laughed, as he sent him north with the final wave of reinforcements for the belearegued hawks.

They had been friends, brothers, for 50 years.

But he was the hawk's hero.

He had to go.

It was his hand that then happily redacted and signed the armistice treaty that would later be signed by both the empire and the protectorate, marking the end of the war.

It was then, his hand, that happily signed on the budget for the construction of the brand new universities, schools, hospitals, warehouses, docks, teathres and other coutnless public works that, finally, he could divert army funds to.

He had built temples, exalting the spirit, and universities, exalting the mind.

Great markets, in preparation for all the trade agreements he was ready to sign and honor now that he was free to do so.

And yet, the massive docks that were meant to host over a hundred ships, were almost empty. Barely a dozen merchant ships had their anchors down, looking like lonely cactii growing alone in the middle of the desert, surrounded by nothing but empty space.

The great markets were the cleanest, most orderly and emptiest in the history of the empire so far.

The universities had been completed and promptly abandoned, with only 1 out of the 7 he had built across the capital and the rest of the empire, still working.

2/?
>>
>>443724
Guess he simply wasn't prepared for an outside context problem.
Or enough information to properly deal with the realities of the trade alliances that grew out of the war.
>>
>>443741
Or that he could easily be overthrown by lewding a couple princesses.
>>
>>443747
That's got nothing to do with why his grand plan of getting rid of the war-mongering idiots and building up the nation's infrastructure, education system, and economy came crashing down on him even though everything had been working as according to plan.

The Alquian Empire, and the Eastern Continent, had little trade with the Heavenly Empire, so Eldric romancing the Empress and the Princess wouldn't have affected that.

Right now, only Lapsiona has a trade deal with Alquia.
Alquia should have been able to broker trade deals with Yellowleaves, Heven, the free city-states, the orc kingdom, and the Emerald Isles, even if they were still locked out of trade with the Northern Coalition.

As he watched the ships leave or arrive at the docks, he sat on a large stone, feeling the weight of his age.

Where did he go wrong?

He did not regret marrying a courtesan, going against tradition for love. She was a sharp, bright woman, and had given him many sharp, smart sons.

No, the problem was not there.

He did not regret having dreamt of expanding and modernizing the empire's paths and roads, nor its trade and bureacratic systems, turning meritocracy into the default system for advancement, rewarding hard work and success, while ignoring the lazy and mundane whenever a promotion came around.

No, the error was not there.

He had knelt next to his empress, the last of the ancient line, and cried until he fainted after her death. He had built a grand mausoleum for her, and closed its gates himself.

Perhaps... there was an error there?

He knew a young child of imperial blood had been discarded by treasonous plot.

He had tried to secure her, bring her unto the empire and make her into a queen, but... the child had people she loved, and people she cared for.

When his agents had told him as much, told him that she was happy, and safe, he had given up, given up on securing a successor for the royal line...

He thought 'There was an eeeor there."

He looked down at his feet.

No, not at his feet, but beneath his feet.

He looked at the sand.

This sand, this earth, was meant to have an empress over it.

Perhaps he, a vizir, was simply inadequate? no matter how loyal, devoted or incorruptible he was. No matter how dedicated to this land, was he and error, himself?

He has not been sleeping well.

He used to dream of his empress, of his days as her youngest servant, of his dedication to her.

He missed his empress very much.

Standing at the shore of the Sea of Stars, the old man, Alim Al Safi ars Maj al Din, last vizir of the Eastern Colinies, felt a weight on the chest, and a pain on his neck.

'Not yet!' -he thought- 'Not yet!'

He reached into his robes, and broke a healing crystal, forcing his body to endure again.

'One more day' -he thought- 'I need to watch over it just one more day!' -he thought whole looking at the sand.

He took a deep breath as the crystal's magic washed over him, felt his body calm down and relax, the pain on his neck faded away, while the weight on his chest became lighter again.

It had been like this for a week now.

'Just one more day.'

He thought of his dream. His empress appeared to him. Not frail and old, as she was when she laid down and closed her eyes before him, but as the young and glorious figure she had been when he first saw her across the gardens of the palace, so many years ago.

A lifetime ago.

In his dream, she said 'My child is coming. So wait for her.'

And he had gone down to his knees, as he did on that first day, and promised to do so.

Just one more day.

'Your sevant Alim is waiting.' -he thought- 'But your servant is old and frail... and so tired. So very tired, now.'

Yeah, a pretty big mistake there.

Instead of having a neutral party, or at least a deniable asset meet with Mako and her Shadows to convince them to come to Alquia, he first tried to kidnap her and then never bothered to follow up with continued intel on how the Coalition was keeping its economy going.
He probably doesn't even know that trade between East and West has been restored by Eopolis rock-it ships.
Definitely wouldn't know about the United Nations and the trade treaties that it has.

The old monkey-tribe man forced himself to stand, and made his way back to the palace, his tail, that had at one time curled up so high, as if laughing at the world around it, was dragging on the sand.

But its tip was standing. Just barely curling up.

He made the long way back, paused, took a deep breath, and forced his back straight. Forced his tail to curl and raise, and changed his grip on his scepter, grabbing it not as a walking cane, but as the sign of office that it was, as he walked closer to the city, and through its gates, and into the heavily guarded eastern side of the docks.

He walked past the posted janissary, his most trusted men, and into the workshop of the girl.

It was noisy inside, and full of life.

Activity could be seen everywhere, as workers operated cranes and polleys, moving massive pieces of "machiins" and "in djiins" under the watchful eye of the young taskmaster of the workshop, a brilliant young succubus that had one day shown up at court with a "steem in djiin" machine, a little toy that moved without beasts or magic to push it forth.

He had spoken with her, and excitedly redacted and signed the documents to create the workshop she needed, and give her the men and goods she needed.

First, she created great 'in djiins' for the merchant fleet, upgrading its ships and making it so that they could outrun anything in the sea, even against the tide or the wind, cutting through the waters like a sharp blade through the wind.

This was the first part. She had shown her worth.

He redirected more resources, and gave her access to the wreckage of the rockitship the army captured during the war, let her learn of it, and make it hers.

He thought 'There was an error there, in giving up the Great Ancient Lineage. I have to fix that.0

As he looked at the many. great metal "Battleship" and "Dreadnought" in the workshop, as he looked at the elegant "Cruisers", he thought.

'Soon now. Just One More Day,'

His tail curled up on its own.

He's going to fix his mistake.

"Ah, old man, you're here again?! shouldn't you be at the palace?" -said a young succubus dressed in grey overalls and wearing a pair of elegant glasses and a bright yellow helmet of her own design.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." -he answered, in a good mood- "How much longer?"

"Just a few more days. We are almost done installing the main guns now."

"Those things? why did you need three per turret again?"

"It's just cooler that way!" -she laughed

"Uuuh... I'll trust you to make it work."

"It works, it works. We're almost ready to leave harbor and test the guns, soon. I think as early as tomorrow, in fact. Then we'll just need to stock on ammo."

On the bright side, maybe this will finally light that fire under Eldric he's been lacking, and put that chemical engineering knowledge to use.

After that first initial burst, he's been lazing about doing nothing for nearly 6 years.
6 years wasted on just enjoying life when he should have been keeping his nose to the grindstone to outlevel Baldric, making the tools and glasswork he needs to use his knowledge of chemistry, and building a much bigger military by circumventing the age restrictions and getting middlemen to build an industrial-military complex.
>>
>>443901
>maybe this will finally light that fire under Eldric he's been lacking
Then again, even seeing the goddamn turbine engine back in Lapsiona wasn't enough to get us on task, so maybe an armored battlefleet with turreted cannons is the kind of kick in the ass we deserve.

We didn't even put turrets on our ships. I hope that whatever magic we can fire is enough to penetrate enchanted steel armor plating.

"Where are you taking them?" (the ships)

"Since they're too heavy, they can't float up high like the protectorate rockitships do, but they can still sail over land about a hundred feet high."

"So?"

"You said the warring tribes were blocking trade to the northeast, right? I wanna try the guns on them."

"Eh?"

"Our main guns range should be 30 miles or so. Was thinking of trying the cluster bomb-type shells and cleaning the path for you, old man."

"No, no, wait. They have women and children with them, you know? they move as a whole, their whole tribe together. Even if they're bandits, you can't just attack like that."

"No worries, no worries! they won't feel a thing!" -she said with a charming smile

"Ah, wait, wait. You seriously can't! we're just about to sign a treaty with them and give them land to the south, you know? that will pull them away from the trade routes and have them settle new land for us."

"Uhh... I really wanted to try hitting a small moving target, though..."

"..."

"Don't worry, don't worry! I'm sure it would hit, anyway! so, how about taking the new ships east and clearing out the krakens, uh?"

"...can you do that?"

"Sure, sure! I'll try the guns on some island or something, and take a crack at them octopusses with depth charges from a hundred feet over the water, it'll be fun!"

"You said these would be a deterrant. That we would just need to show off what they can do, in order to have the princess come over to our side." -said the old man, his tail dropping a little bit

"Sure, sure, I'll getyou a princess or two, no prob! but, you know, you can't just show off without actually blowing something up, right? so, we take out their flagship..."

"...w-we can't attack the imperial fleet!"

"Don't worry, don't worry, I know what i'm doing, old man! just a warning shot, then!"

"...alright."

'Which will accidentally hit their flagship.' -the pretty succubus thought with a smile

"Fumu... alright, I need to go back to the palace now. Have your tests and let me know of the results."-says the vizir

"Yup! no prob!"

The old vizir nods, and leaves, going back to the palace.

As he leaves, the workshop overseer watches him go, then walks back into her office. She takes off her helmet and hangs it by the door, then sits behind the desk with a 'oimf!' sound as her shapely butt hits the chair.

"What did the old man want?" -asked the finely dressed man already there
"His not-royal highness was concerned about our live fire targets and wanted to make sure we wouldn't be shooting at actual people." -she answered
"Pft! old fool, it would be way easier if we just wiped out those bandits and their filthy seed, then settled the south with loyal citizens. Anything else?"
"Ah, he was telling me to fire just warning shots when we meet with the imperial fleet."

Oh, so it's an AERIAL battlefleet.
With cannons that have a 30-mile range.
And likely magically enchanted.

Looks like that kick in the ass is going to be very literal.
This is shaping up to be like when we first distributed dad's bonus points and ended up with unintended consequences.
I suppose it's the least we deserve for letting this problem fester for so long.

"...don't worry. I already changed one of his healing crystals with a fake one."
"Oh? how many did he had?"
"It was a new box, so, 24. That was a week ago, so he should have 17 left. No... 16. One of those is a fake."
"So, he has a 1-in-16 chance to drop dead tomorrow?"
"Those odds get better every day!" -laughed the exiled minister of the left- "It wasn't easy to spoil all those trade agreements and alliances he had, you know? I need to turn those doves into hawks, if we are going to take the Empire by fire."
"Uhmm... well, I don't really care about politics." -says the succubus as she looks at the finely dressed man- "I just want to see those babies fire."

In the palace, there's a simple room, with high quality but simple furniture. A large bed, a small desk, and a wardrobe are there, spotlessly clean, with a window faving to the West.

On top of the desk, is a box of ivory and crystal. Inside the box, there's 17 crystals.

One of those is not what you'd think it is.

I keep thinking, how much of this mess is Baldric's fault for essentially forcing Eldric to slow down, and how much is it our own/Eldric's fault for getting complacent and ignoring the danger that the turbine engine we discovered really represented.

We only had 1 meeting with General Li about it.

We should have been preparing for this, ever since we saw that turbine engine and we broke into their outpost that had a fully functional rock-it ship, but people didn't want to go to work to get shit done.

As we check, it seems the new sewers are ready and working. Waste is being led away from all of the city, and not just the palace, enhancing the cleanliness of the city throughout all of its streets, and enhancing the lives of its citizens.

The countryside schools we had built have been running for a while now, and the children have taken to the custom of writing letters to the royal family on a monthly basis. In the future, this custom will change into once a year, and be looked upon fondly by grownups, assuming it is simply a show of the children's innocence, thinking that the royal family would have the time to actually read their letters.

The breakfast-in-school program has found a few problems.

We promised to our friends and to ourselves that the mana-to-food converters would only provide tasteless, if nutritious food, but ...

>Let's have some make some tasty foods for the kids. It'll be much cheaper than actually investing money into it every day.

Don't vomit up misspelled words like that.
You've been warned on it before.

As for using a magic amplified in place of cannons, we don't have that technology, and effectiveness would vary according to the mages of the gunnery crew instead of being consistent with machinery.
Also, with the way that Craftsmanship works in this world, once a Blacksmith produces a single cannon, he can use his Skill to mass manufacture cannon barrels and parts at a rate even faster than mid-20th century assembly lines.
A magical device requires enchanting, which still takes time for each object to be created.
While a magic cannon would be more versatile, we'd be running straight into the wall of a construction bottleneck.

If we had more time, money, and skilled personnel, magic cannons would be the better option since the training regime we gave to the Heavenly Empire will make all of their soldiers into master level mage-fighters. However, the Alquian Imperial fleet already has a full battlefleet ready to sail and more ships coming.

We need to consider what we can deploy the fastest with the most effect.

It will take a while for agression to be breed out, probably a couple of years at the very least.

Several springs/blooming seasons. Okants have seasons where they bloom, and give fruit, they are not like animals... uhmm... well, maybe if we helped build greenhouses it would be changed into several months...

I would think they have to be, since they're our Pets.

Eldric can see character sheets. Both his and those of people in party with him, but normal people can only see job and class.

So yeah, scion is a secret class.

Ah yes, in that sense, you are correct. Scions usually just show slave as class and have a level of 100+ on it instead of it saying "scion."

I wonder if we should just start or wait a bit more? i guess we can wait... are you guys playing pokemongo? i live across the street from 3 pokestops within 5 feet of each other, its pretty funny

We should just start and keep going through the week.

Well, I guess we should. Not sure about keep going through the week, since the computer parts a friend sent me just arrived, and will need to take the pc back to tech for installing them, but lets start.

And yes, I know theyre easy to install... when your eyes work and you can read the words on the motherboard, which i cant

***

We decide to upgrade and install some food dispensers on the schools in order to provide cheap and nutritious breakfast for the children.

Shortly after, Yin approaches us with a fresh ketle of tea, and pours it for us, calmly looking at the cup as it fills with the liquid, her tails swaying softly from side to side.

"Will you inspect the experimental furnaces, or the shipyards today?" -she asks gently

Because my eyes suck and i had a hard time checking the results again.

"I think we should check the shipyards." -we answer while accepting the cup of tea
"Yes, then please allow me to prepare a ricksaw... ah, I don't think you'd want a palanquin, right?"
"Actually, I think a ricksaw would be interesting."
"Yes sir."

Uhm, since we brought along Kya and Lyann today, lets show them something local.

Besides, cuddling on a couch with Lyann is always nice.

That's how, we end up sitting on the right, with Lyann, Yin and Kya sitting to the left.

"Uhmmm" -Lyann cooes happily as we share a kiss, then we both straighten up to enjoy the beauty of the ancient city.

the shipyards are some distance away, so we get to enjoy quite a nice trip there. Of course, now that we've come here once, we can probably [Treestride] as long as we find a nearby tree and become familiar with it.

We help Lyann, Kya and Yin step down from the ricksaw, and greet the guards at the entrance of the large base/shipyard.

"Your excellency" -the wprlshop master greets us- "Please come in. We are almost done with the newest ship. Allow me to give you a tour."

We nod, and follow the workshop master into the installation.

The newest ship is a long, elegant cruiser, with a ramming bow, designed to ram not just ships, but also enemy fortresses, and then open discrete, armored doors in order to release troops into enemy fortresses as if they were a disease infecting a body.

"The shields your excellency provided have been implemented so that they reinforce the ramming bow. We are strongest when we face the enemy." -says the man

Ships at this time are seen as troop transports, with combat typically implying boarding parties and frantic melee. This suits well the imperial troops, since their levels are so far above those of our enemies.

If they manage to close the gap

If they manage to board the enemy ship, or infiltrate the enemy fortress.

We need to do both. We know that the turbine engine will give the Alquian ships the advantage in speed and manueverability. We can't ram something faster than us.

>>446565
Miellewds-guy?
>>
>>446565
Oh, and this is Miellewds-guy.
I'm in transit so my IP is going to change.

Anyway, what we need are smaller, faster boarding shuttles/torpedo boats.
We aren't the Romans during the Punic Wars.

As I said before, trying to use our current ships for ramming and boarding will just end up making us look stupid. We saw the turbine engine, we know that when the Alquians combine that engine technology with rock-it ships that they'll be able to fly circles around the Heavenly ships.
What we need to do is get the Mana Cannon tech from Sbastia and mount it on these ships as quickly as possible. We must speak with Asmund and implore him to grant the Heavenly Empire the mana cannon and mana condenser technology before its too late.

Not to say that this type of ship is useless; in fact, against very large targets and non-moving targets, this kind of ramming ship would be ideal.

It's just that we need ships that can fight their ships, not just take down their fortresses.

Well, it will weaken the shields, though, but offer more coverage. We do have an advantage, though:

They can't raise over the 100ft mark, due to the combined weight of their engines, armor, and guns.

We can fly quite high over them.

Maybe we should look into bombing? just saying

"...and we need to redesign the ships to carry less soldiers, and bear guns."

"Guns? like ballista? that's been done before, sure enough, but only as a means to harpoon enemy ships and pull them close for boarding. We are actually quite good at designing such tools." -says the workshop master

>I want those, too!

but make it so differnt ships are made for differnt things we got to think biger then what a single ship dose
need to think in like fleets
we need carriers, distorers, and surrport ships, the smaller harpoon ships can hold the ships in place long enguh for the ramers(carriers) can get hit them or for the distorers to line up a shot
>>
and since we can fly above them bombers would be nice
but could use the sun/ clouds to hide ship movments and get reall close to them befor ramin or fighting
and i think we should have a magic ship for us you know like a flagship(there normay the most shingy ones
>>
>>446629

"I mean purely destructive weapons. Here, this is what I call a turret. Our ships fly, so they must be able to hit targets below, to the sides, in front and behind. I will get you the schematics for the weapons within a week."

Just on the front wouldn't be good. We need to be able to hit targets that circle us, as well as ones below the ship.

And bombs require a lot of precision guidance; we don't have the time to make the guidance system, stabilizers, and targeting machine.

just have the dumb fire for the bombs
but is there shield spells people can cast?
instend of redising things since we have a very tight time line just put mages on the ships that can cast defleact or sheild having enguh of them on it should stop the incomeing fire
also rember the cannaon can only do x ammount of damge where spells can always get more damge
we can make better ships latter
we could make peopel cannons since we have that ring that makes it so falling from a ship wont kill you, just put peopel in a drop pod then shoot it at the otehr ship to get troopers on deack they would naver think of it

Then we wouldn't hit shit with the bombs.
You have no idea of the difficulties of hitting a moving object while moving yourself, across a distance of at least hundreds of feet if not thousands, because the enemy can shoot us from 30 miles away if we're not high enough to be unseen.

Alright, lets start here on sunday? I will be offline most of tomorrow.

Hopefully ill be online on sunday. Can someone archive the thread? I think just "And old man by the sea" may be a good description. Maybe add the vizir name between ( ) so we can easily find his name in the future.
>>
>>446697
"An old man( Alim Al Safi ars Maj al Din ) by the sea" like this?
>>
>>446679
just add mage powers to stear them like its like your forgetting we have sum bad ass mages and spell and shit just because we are using sorta moden ships and things dosnt mean we cant use spell to make up things down falls
not to talk about how trucking big the other shiips and slow they are we going to be fighting argest
and just becouse theye can hit up to 30 mils dosnt mean they can hit a high fying air ship on the move as well, since they wore just going to try to carpet bomb the ground people
and we could cast wing spells to make there shells do lest of miss us by making alot of wind resistances think like a mage

First, learn to spell.
Second, the enchantments needed for making the the bombs into missiles would make them too expensive in terms of resources and time.

>>446737
King, could you make a quick GM call on this.
Every time stupid shit like this comes up and we have to keep telling people how they're dumb.
>>
>>446746
your still not thinking liek a mage
we dont have to enchant them just drop them and have a mage use magic to point them at the thing you want died
like how hard is that to fucking understand
the boombs dont need to be enchantments for this to work
naaa some one butthurt salty as fuck arnt you
>>
>>446746
you could also just cast a tracking spell on the other ships and cast a go to spel on the boombs to make them go to the ship you want died
all of this should be able to work couse of fucking maigc and mages and shit just add fins to them
>>
>>446754
There's no spell that's even close to what you're describing. You think this is some kind of free-form shit?
You can't spell, your grammar is terrible, and your ideas are ill thought-out.
>>
>>446762
just use extising spells in a differnt way hsouldnt be that hard
well till qm tells me that it cant be done then it can be theres spells from all the elements so cant we use wing magic to gude the boomb or gun shells? or even fast fire mage to give it thrusters, just got to use your haed
my spell dosnt make i ideas are shit
just sounds liek your got to this fucking comlex here your the only one with good iedas and every one eils can eat shit
you have been like this since day one salty as fuck over any one eils iedas like your not even explanign way it wont work
this is a game world we dont need all he thing we have in this world since magic and other things, we have free fall rings just have troppers jump off he ship
qm can tell me off if he thinks what im sugest cant be done then il shut up till then try ot get that huge dildo thats up or your ass out

On the bombs thing? i was thinking of the war with the [Errors] not the Alquian navy. They're just impractical for intelligent things that will try to get out of the way.

Good for fortresses and masses of [Errors] moving relentlessly to X place

>>446754
>we dont have to enchant them just drop them and have a mage use magic to point them at the thing you want died

The enchantments dont work like that right now. We would need to research some new type of enchantment, maybe make the bombs into automata that fly towards a target on their own, and that would be quite expensive and time consuming.

>>446761
The spells right now are
Attack - like fireballs, ice arrows, flying metal spikes, etc
Attack (debuffs) - like [Frog] or [Rage], maybe [Sleep] and such
Defensive (fixed) - like walls
Defensive (mobile) - like buffs that someone is wearing

There is no auto aiming spell right now. We would need to design one, and design a way to enchant it into a weapon, and design a way for the spell to have a FoF system so it can automatically target enemies of whoever is firing it... it's really too complicated.

btw did you guys like the way I went with the vizir's sidestory? i didn't want to make it too long so I tried to restrain myself.
>>
>>447313
I like it. It gave us real insight into the motivations of someone who we had only interacted with as a distant enemy.
With our current schedule, however, it's too bad we won't be able to meet him while he's alive.
>>
>>447053
thats all we have? wow
well looks liek we could do it but its going to take time we dont have
il shut up now for a bit any ways
yer its nice to see it from his view
im worred how we only got like a few days befor he dies couse the other people that want to take over wil want a big ass war well he dosnt really want that
>>
>>447313
so thermite time ? we can make bombs to annihilate the enemy ships, hell just over sized cross bow bolts filled with it should fuck them errors up good too.
>>
>>448120
ERRORs have fire resistance, though. We'd have to test to see if thermite would be better than the lightning grenades that Aritsu suggested.

Using thermite against enemy ships doesn't sound like it would be very effective, though. Thermite doesn't explode, it just cuts through. So while it would be handy for any boarding teams to have thermite cutting charges to cut through the hull, dropping thermite onto a moving ship won't do much except open up some holes, assuming the thermite doesn't simply get blown away by wind as the ship moves.

Or were you suggesting thermite charges to use on the ships while they're docked, as part of a sabotage mission?
That could work, if we send in an infiltration team and they use the thermite charges to cut through the hull of an anchored ship and place them on the engines and magazine.
>>
>>448168
I was thinking of figuring out the ruins for making it like the ones for the house water and tolite make a gun that shoots a stream of it
>>
>>448524
A stream of thermite?
It's a powder, so trying to shoot it would make it not work. Thermite has to stay close together so that the oxygen can get properly torn away and the heat stays high enough for the reaction to continue.

As a chemical engineer, Eldric would know this.
