Hello and welcome back to Mortal Kombat Konquest!

Today, we're doing something different. As we move into the fifth arc of the story, New Defenders Quest or simply the New Defenders, we're going to be changing up the format of the structure a bit. I'm going to design a new document for the thread, much like Thief Quest, and you get to help me.

First and foremost, this thread will serve three primary functions:

>1) Designing the document for New Defenders Quest
>2) Coming up with special moves, skills, flaws and additional refinements for our team of protagonists
>3) Establishing any changes to the formula of how the quest is run

This isn't a typical thread for the quest, of course. This is meant to be a collaborative quest-building project between me and the followers. Your ideas, opinions and voice will all be heard and taken into account. If there's ever been anything that's bothered you, any gripe with the rules or the style of writing, now is the time to make your voice heard. You'll also get to suggest ideas for the characters and the episodes that they'll be featured in.

Here is the current document in progress:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/12-IT8pOV-Zql8AQeJwJuojjMDWRtzdPb60i-9qKCQeo/edit?usp=sharing

Firstly, let's go through all the core members of the team. There are fourteen people who are officially recognized as New Defenders; seven males and seven females. There are also a great many allies and close family members connected to the team, but serve official functions in other ways, such as Johnny Cage and Mileena. All of whom we will get to in good time.

The New Defenders:

Akayama Kaito
Cao Kahnzadeh
Sergeant Cassie Cage
Specialist Jacqui Briggs
Takahashi Takeda
Forest Fox
Kung Jin
Kung Ling
Zian Liang, Codename Tundra
Frost
Andela Vrbada, Codename Vapor
Joshua Fireseed
Sheeva
Corporal Samantha Stryker

Some of these characters are from the canon, some are original in nature, but if you have followed the quest you are familiar with each. We're going to go through each of them, establish their skillset and special moves (made easier by some having special moves from the games themselves) as well as their skills and flaws. If you recall Thief Quest, Cao was built with a very specific set of skills and character flaws, and these guided and helped roleplaying him. Kaito, being our first protagonist, had special moves but not skills and flaws, due largely to the concept evolving over time and his origin as designed by the players, whereas Cao was designed primarily by the KM.

But although some of these characters are indeed from the canon, they are in subtly different places than they were as presented originally, both in characterization or skillset. Keep in mind that skills and flaws can change over time, and characters can always improve with training and honing themselves, so the key I am getting at is that we are establishing the basis for New Defenders Quest that the episodes will expand upon. Characters will grow and change, but for now, we will determine what they can and cannot do at the start of the quest.

Pick a name from the above list and we will start with them. Who first? Perhaps someone familiar, such as Kaito and Cao?
>>
>>448462
>Zian Liang, Codename Tundra
Half-demon Ice Man!
>>
>>448471

Tundra could be a good place to start out with. Not as powerful a cryomancer as his father, not quite as good an assassin as his mother, but now being worked and trained as both.

At the end of the recent Legacy of the Lin Kuei quest, two new abilities were chosen for enhancement: Enhanced Ice Object Creation and Enhanced Ice Armor

We could go in-depth and describe his special abilties, skills and flaws, as well as write his entry for the design document while we do. Should we start with him?
>>
>>448462
>Zian Liang, Codename Tundra
>>
>>448483
Special abilities. I wanna know more about the upgrades we got
>>
>>448484
>>448471

Alright then, let's talk about Zian.

We'll start with the Special Moves.

Obviously, as a given, he has the Freeze Ball. He also recently demonstrated the ability of creating a sword of ice, which he used against an ice dragon.

Let's aim for somewhere between five-seven "special moves" that range from direct attacks to using his ice in special ways.

At the end of his quest, he took Enhanced Ice Object Creation and Enhanced Ice Armor. Let's design some special moves based around those, and perhaps incorporate some physical fighting styles combined with a bit of cryokinesis.

One idea I had is the creation of many snowflake-like throwing stars the he throws as a fast projectile, just like his mother, with perhaps an enhanced version that freezes the opponent as well.

What do you think? You can also suggest a few ideas of your own.
>>
>>448497
I like the throwing stars idea. But going based off the choice of powers we went with I could totally see Zian being a lock down fighter. Once he gets close enough to you he would trap both of you in an ice dome, shield up, and start laying down the hurt.
>>
>>448497
Does Zian get any inspiration from Sareena in his moves?
>>
>>448518

So would you call it Ice Dome? A kind of igloo-like structure he can erect around himself or an opponent, possibly to protect himself or to prevent an enemy's escape?

>Ice Ball
>Snowflake Stars
>Ice Dome

We also have Ice Armor, which is a special ability in of itself; perhaps an enhanced version could cover him more fully and offer more protection?

>Ice Armor

What else can Zian do? Suggest any ideas that you feel like.

>>448526

Well, that's why I wanted the throwing stars made out of ice, or perhaps we could make them throwing knives to match her MK:A move, but I'm a bit inspired by pic related's ice-shuriken. But I would be interested in anyone else coming up with some ideas based on Sareena.

For reference, her MK:A moveset:

Five-Star Kick: Back, Forward, 3.
Gut Buster: Down, Back, 1.
Throwing Knife: Back, Forward, 2.
Skull Bash: Forward, Forward, 1.
>>
>>448530
Gut Buster & Skull Bash could be included as a part of Tundra's "lock down" fighting style as suggested here>>448518

Also during Zian's quest we used a lot of ice spikes coming out of the ground to stab people as well as ice walls. Maybe to fit those actions as well as his Enhanced Ice Object Creation into his moveset he could have a couple environmental ice object creation moves
>>
>>448530
Five star kick is sick. I want it.Do you think Tundra could have some sort of stacking ice attack? Like the more he hits the opponent the more stacks of ice he gets on them and then when he hits his opponent with a special move of some sort it pops all the ice stacks?
>>
>>448544

I could see those two moves having some ice-related flavors; perhaps an enhanced version of skull bash could be that he covers his head in a shield of ice before smashing it against an opponent.

>>448547

Perhaps some manner of Freeze Kick? Like, he kicks each part of an opponent's body (arms, legs, chest, maybe head) and freezes each bit before a final hit?
>>
I know we are talking about moves but could I toss in a suggestion for a Tundra/Frost fatality?
>>
>>448562

Of course, this is an ideas thread, just because we're not talking about Frost at this second doesn't mean a thing.
>>
>>448562

Now that you mention it, it might bea fun avenue of thought to explore Character Combo special moves later, Ultimate Alliance style, like making a freezing arrow with Tundra/Kung Jin or Tundra/Nightwolf.
>>
>>448558
Now that I think about it. That seems like the freezing kicks would be more of a frost move. So i would actually prefer it if we saved that one for her.
>>
>>448584

Well, if we want to do that, we can stick with the current list:

Ice Ball
Ice Shuriken
Ice Dome
Ice Armor
Gut Buster
Skull Bash
Ice Spikes
>>
>>448587
Seems like a good moveset to me.
>>
>>448587
Perhaps some affinity with traps made out of ice? It's a good assassin+cryomancer combo in my opinion.

Perhaps not for combat, but an out of combat skill, for ambushes and whatnot.
>>
>>448587
Maybe something like this for ice armor except you know, more icey
>>
>>448605

I'm recording all of this in the document, by the way. I'll be constantly adding to it as we go on.

>>448608

Perhaps we could lump that under the skill of "ice object creation" if we don't want to make a specific move for it.

But a kind of beartrap-like move that an opponent could move into, keeping them in place might be interesting. We could give that to Tundra or Frost, or perhaps another character could have it later on. Fireseed perhaps? He seems like the kind of guy who would carry traps on him, since he hunts dinosaurs and all. What do you think?
>>
>>448608
That sounds good. Maybe an ice wall that he can use to cut people off or block pursuit
>>
>>448570
I think Frost could utilize an Iron Maiden fatality, Tundra could use a cruder less detailed version of it as I believe he isn't as potent of a cryomancer compared to Frost right?
>>
>>448612
I'm cool with that

>>448618
This sounds really plausible. I like it.
>>
>>448608
Eh, if he gets good at ice objects I see no reason why he couldn't get it set up during.
And we did play Zian pretty tactician.

Think of it like a lingering effect off combos maybe.
Takes set up during fights so elaborate things would basically be almost ritualistic.

Simple things like slip+slide into spikes for extra damage though could just be quick modifications maybe?
>>
>>448618
>I believe he isn't as potent of a cryomancer compared to Frost right?

This was the case originally, though after the events of his quest he's gotten a bit better in certain ways. I think it would help to perhaps define the key differences in their style:

Tundra, since we chose objects and armor, seems more of a physical ice user; protecting himself or enhancing himself with sheets of ice, and using it offensively is more of a case of creating objects like weapons or domes.

Frost should be more along the lines of area-of-effect things; ice that spreads on the ground, or creative ways to freeze or slow down an opponent perhaps. Those are my thoughts.
>>
>>448626
That sounds good to me, helps contrast the two cryomancers so it's not like we have to identical characters
>>
>>448626
Well okay.
How about makeshift manacles and hobbling via ice shackles or the like, allows so hobbling, restriction and combo breaking potentially but could also go wrong.
>>
>>448626
So are we still on powers or are we moving on to the other aspects of Tundra. I for one am quite satisfied with what we have so far.
>>
>>448637
Plus it plays into the whole BDSM thing a touch.
>>
>>448626
I think this is the best for balance and variety.
Frost's temper is indeed suitable for AoE attack style
>>
>>448639

Right now I'm doing a draft of special moves and their enhanced variations. You can see the progress as it unfolds in the doc

https://docs.google.com/document/d/12-IT8pOV-Zql8AQeJwJuojjMDWRtzdPb60i-9qKCQeo/edit?usp=sharing
>>
How about we add "oblivious" to Zian's flaws?
Or did you guys already started womanizing with him in his quest?
>>
>>448656

He's oblivious.
>>
>>448656
Frost's feelings are known but Tundra still doesnt really know what he wants.
>>
>>448659
I'm sure Tundra still doesn't know what Frost wants
>>
>>448658
>>448659
>>448666
How about "Agenda: Noob Saibot" and he gets a little narrow minded when his uncle comes into consideration.

I mean all of the Defenders have something personal that changes their behavior from usual.
>>
Here's what I've got so far:

Ice Ball: Tundra blasts a freezing ball of cryonic energy in a straight line at an opponent, freezing them if it hits for a short time.
Enhanced: Frozen Ball: Instead of mere energy, Tundra creates a physical orb of ice that he launches at his opponent, dealing damage and freezing them on impact.

Ice Shuriken: Creating a small projectile between his fingers, Tundra quickly throws it, dealing minor cutting damage if it hits.
Enhanced: Freezing Shuriken: Creating more shuriken with both of his hands, Tundra throws them in a flurry, and upon connecting, they can freeze an opponent.

Ice Shield: Tundra creates a thick shield of ice in front of him that he holds aloft to deflect an oncoming attack, either off to the side or back at his opponent.
Enhanced: Ice Dome: Tundra creates a full dome around himself, used for defense from the outside, or to trap an enemy inside with him to keep them from escaping.

Ice Halfplate: Tundra conjures up half a suit of icy armor to protect himself with, keeping himself from taking additional damage.
Enhanced: Ice Full Plate: A stronger suit of armor that fully covers his body and lasts longer, offering stronger protection.

Gut Buster: Tundra takes a step back before lunging forward and slamming his fist into his opponent’s gut, knocking them back.
Enhanced: Gut Freezer: As before, but with added cryonic energy to enhance the damage and freeze them for a follow-up attack.

Skull Bash: Tundra slams his forehead against his opponent.
Enhanced: Frozen Bash: Tundra covers his head in a layer of ice before doing his attack, enhancing its damage and knocking the opponent backwards further.

Ice Spikes: Tundra summons an ice spike somewhere in his vicinity, either below an opponent or elsewhere, that can be used in an offensive manner.
Enhanced: Ice Trap: Tundra designates a spot for a delayed Ice Spike to shoot up from when an opponent walks over it.

I couldn't find footage of Skull Bash originally, but another pointed it out: https://youtu.be/ipjv1JWO5RQ?t=35

What do you think? Should I change it, or keep it as is? What about the others? Should they be altered or removed?
>>
>>448672
I have noting to add, looks fine to me.
>>
>>448672
Looks good to me. I say that the skull bash is fine as we still get the after image, even if it is purely Aesthetic
>>
>>448678
>>448679

Let's talk about skills, then.

Thief Quest had ten skills for Cao, along with ten flaws. The flaws were more character-related and didn't confer mechanical bonuses or negatives, but skills gave out +10's.

Off the top of my head:

>Ice Object Creation
>Stealth (From Sareena)

Let's have some suggestions. They can even be mundane things; perhaps he's good at skiing.
>>
>>448700
Maybe for the sake of future character creation and stuff we should lessen the heartache by lowering the amount of things we need. Say five for each section?
>>
>>448700
I figured Zian more of the snowboarding type.
>>
>>448712

Yeah, I'm fine with that.

>>448713

Sure, why not?
>>
>>448700
>Cool head
I dont know if this is a skill but it would relate fto him being harder to goad into doing something rash. Like the opposite of Cao's reckless
>>
>>448712
Yep, this is the most sensible. Perhaps even four

>>448716
or Ice-sculpting, he looks like a relaxed sort.
No to mention that I think he was making ice-clones when you first introduced him.
>>
>>448720

Yeah, I could see it. I described him in the bio I just wrote as "level-headed" and that's how I've always tried to portray him.

I think a good flaw for him would be that he overthinks things; where others would act on instinct, he hesitates. I wrote about that in the bio too.
>>
>>448727
Overthinking is good but we need three more flaws.
>>
>>448727
That sounds good. Adding in a arch-nemesis in the from of Noob would be good as well. What >>448671 said sounds pretty good
>>
>>448738

I'll go with that vendetta that >>448671 mentioned.
>>
>>448727
that's really fitting
>>
>>448744
Remember Tundra quest? You wanna say cant swim?
>>
>>448758

I think he can swim, it's just that he was pretty far down when it happened.
>>
>>448750

Perhaps, to coincide with that, something about Indecisiveness? Or something along the lines of having difficulty adapting to new situations or change?
>>
>>448765
I've been thinking "too forgiving" or problems with being harsh" (except when Noob is involved)
but if I have to pick I choose being rigid and hard to adapt. >>448620 said Zian is tactical, so indecisiveness might be a little contradictory
>>
>>448781

Alright, here's our current list:

Skills:
Ice Object Creation
Stealth
Cool and Calm
Ice Sculpting
Tactician

Flaws:
Oblivious
Overthinking
Vendetta
Rigid
Merciful

What do we think? Change anything, or shall we move onto another character?
>>
>>448785
I'll lay my vote with "It's cool as it is"
>>
>>448785
Seems a-ok to me
>>
File: Chart.png (54 KB, 1219x303)

Before we move on from Tundra, I'd like to talk about this character relationship chart I developed recently.

Left Verticle category is the Observer, Right Horizontal category is the Observed.

This is only initial impressions, and in no way prevents the characters from fighting or training alongside each other, but essentially: Red = Negative, Yellow = Medium and Green = Positive.

These are relationships that will need to be worked on in order to improve them throughout the quest.

So, Tundra's opinions of the others are as follows:

>Kaito: Respects for his accomplishments and stories from his father
>Cao: Friendly with, helped out in the bar that one time
>Cassie: Nice to, recognizes military authority and a daughter of Johnny, another ally of his father
>Jacqui: He thinks she is very professional, tactical and strong; Jax/Sub-Zero connection
>Takeda: Uncertain of; he thinks Takeda seems unfocused and lazy
>Fox: He thinks Fox is very quiet and unsocial; not friendly. Hard to get a read on him
>Jin: He respects Jin's intellect, sees that he is very well-studied
>Ling: He is curious about her, but doesn't know much
>Frost: Ally, clanmate, possibly attracted to her and unsure of feelings from him or her
>Vapor: Little Sister and best friend, no romantic feelings at all
>Fireseed: He finds the mercenary very hard-edged and not very easy to approach
>Sheeva: Unsure of how he can relate to her
>Sam: He believed her lies about Chicago and thinks she's capable
>>
>>448785
Sounds good!
>>
>>448829

We're also actively discussing things in the Discord chat, for anyone who isn't already part of the chat room.

We've got:

Akayama Kaito
Cao Kahnzadeh
Sergeant Cassie Cage
Specialist Jacqui Briggs
Takahashi Takeda
Forest Fox
Kung Jin
Kung Ling
Frost
Andela Vrbada, Codename Vapor
Joshua Fireseed
Sheeva
Corporal Samantha Stryker

Who's next?
>>
>>448829
Woah, this is some top-noch work. Let me see..

>>448837
Does Kaito and Cao needs a revision? I thought they are already fleshed out enough?
>>
>>448837
>Takahashi Takeda
>>
>>448843
>I thought they are already fleshed out enough?

It helps that we have Cao from a previous document, but we can now add Shao Kahn stuff to him. Wouldn't hurt to finally nail down the extent of Kaito's abilities ever since he gained control of all four elements. Or we could so someone else, like Takeda.
>>
>>448859
>>448860
I'm okay with doing Takeda next

As for the extent of Kaito's abilities; I've been strong advocate of the Bloody Hand style from day one. and wasn't really the fan of Elemental Master Kaito.
I am not against it in any way, I just prefer him more as "the sole heir of a very brutal fighting style that's perfected by the family for generations"
Hmm, now that I think about it, this story seems awfully familiar.

>>448829
So if I get this right, then rows are how the person perceives others, and columns mean how the person is perceived BY others, correct?
>>
>>448882

>So if I get this right, then rows are how the person perceives others, and columns mean how the person is perceived BY others, correct?

Yes, precisely. If you read a column from top to bottom, you see how they are seen by everyone else.
>>
>>448859
>>448882

Alright then, let's talk about Takeda. I'm currently drafting up his special moves, which we have in abundance thanks to the game.

How about skills and flaws?

Skills:
Telepathy

Flaws:
Snarky Little Bastard
>>
>>448903
>Sneak
Because ninja training.
>Unorthodox thinking
Because rolling well to spank Ling and also Sneaking through a city while naked.
>>
>>448903

>Takeda
>Attracted almost to the entire female cast
I think it's safe to say he has that typical soft spot for women in him that makes young boys get into all kinds of trouble.
>>
>>448914
I have a flaw!
> Too trusting
Wasnt upset when cao didnt tell him about being shao khan and he believed Kung Ling about sexy times.
>>
>>448931
Think we could say "open heart"? It's a feat that has it's advantages and disadvantages.
Too trusting, but easy to meet new people, and so on
>>
>>448931
>>448939

That's pretty good. I would also add telekinesis to his skills, though he doesn't use it offensively. The wiki tells me that he uses telekinesis to recall his blade when he drops it in one of his variations.
>>
>>448943
So non-combat/weak telekinesis? Like he can fetch his slippers from the other side of the room, but he can't slam his opponent against the wall
>>
>>448949

Pretty much. Both his telekinesis and telepathy are pretty low on the spectrum right now, stuff he can't really use in combat, at least not to hurt people.
>>
>>448943
Damashi, off subject of characters but most important question of the thread:
Will there be Dragon Jets?

>>
>>448961

Hey man, we know what we want. Now all we need to do is get someone to yell "KOMBAT TIME!" whenever a fight starts and we're golden.

Also, I will never not hear Stryker and Scorpion's voice as being anything other then Ron Perlman.
>>
I'm currently writing Takeda's bio. So far, under skills and flaws, I have:

Skills:
Telepathy
Telekinesis
Sneaking
Adaptable

Flaws:
Snarky
Womanizer
Open Heart

I'd like at least one more skill and two flaws.

Something related to art, a sport or a hobby? Ideas?
>>
>>448983
Tinkerer as a perk? He seems to have an affinity to gadgets
>>
>>448983
Flaw; "Hothead"/"Tactics are for chumps"?
>>
>>448961
For a flaw lets go with something like whiner or procrastinator, something along those lines.
>>448992
Cao had "reckless" which is what i think you are going for here
>>
>>448996
Yeah that's the ting.
I guess I should stop trying to name flaws and perks as something creative
>>
>>449000

It's alright, we'll be touching up on bigger details later on anyway.

Skills:
Telepathy
Telekinesis
Sneaking
Adaptable
Tinkerer

Flaws:
Snarky
Womanizer
Open Heart
Hot Head
Procrastinator

We can move on from here, I think, I wrote a bio for Takeda and recorded his special moves from the game.

Who's next?
>>
>>449005
>Specialist Jacqui Briggs
Let's see what Jacqui can do

Jacqui is still mostly based on her canon self, though her origins are of course subject to a few minor differences. Jax never died and went all PTSD on his farm, so he stayed in and encouraged Jacqui rather than opposing her military career.

While she does have some of daddy Jax's moves across her variations, her specials do depends on what gauntlets she is wearing.

As far as her pairing with Cassie goes, I've always tried to portray her as the more level-headed of the two, though both are snarky in their own ways. Just that Jacqui is the kind to think twice more often than Cass.

Let's talk about skills and flaws.

Skills:
Weightlifter

Flaws:
Sassy
>>
>>449064
"Whizkid"? The way I gather she is pretty partial to machinery herself.
Perhaps she could specalise in software where Takeda is more of a hardware guy.

Sam it is then.

Let's talk about her backstory a bit, so I can bring to light stuff that I've only been implying or hinting at: she wanted to follow dad in his footsteps because Kurtis always wanted a son and as such was emotionally distant towards her throughout much of her childhood. She went to the police academy, but her father pulled some strings (he's got a lot of connections) and got her through relatively easily, landing her a nice desk job in a safe part of the city as a corporal. Kurtis never wanted his daughter to be in any real danger and went out of his way to often ensure that trouble wouldn't find her.

Sam is plucky, generally outgoing, and a little on the chubby side after getting hooked on too much yoghurt after her academy days. She likes cute things and keeps a diary.

Any questions? Things you'd like cleared up or expanded upon?

After helping to save the world in 1992, getting the key to the city of Chicago, writing a book, getting a movie deal, going on tours and such, he married olympic swimming champion Dara Grace Torres, now Dara Grace Stryker, and pumped a kid into her pretty much right away.

That's Sam's mom.

I like Bloody Hands...but an MK character can't subsist entirely on normals, you gotta have special moves.

Also there's a weird contradiction where Kaito is very lighthearted to have such a violent style.

Fragile self-esteem; Although she would really like to, she is not so sure she actually can.

>there's a weird contradiction where Kaito is very lighthearted to have such a violent style
Well that's exactly the cherry on top of the whole thing. I love it.

True tough, we gotta replace the red lighting with something. I just always felt like having all four elements might be spreading too thin.

Absolutely. This is a collaborative thread, and things can be tweaked.

Anyway, let's talk about Sam's Special Moves, Skills and Flaws.

Special Moves:
None

Skills:
Swimming
Driven

Flaws:
Unconfident
Frail

Any more suggestions?

>I just always felt like having all four elements might be spreading too thin.

Eh, it's less than Shang, Shujinko, and either C/Khameleon. Also, interestingly enough, "wield all four elements well enough to overpower Fujin and his three brothers" is just one of the canonical powers of Shinnok's Amulet.

No, but the Shaolin have their archives that Jin studied so much.
>>

Working with the chat, we've narrowed it down to:

Skills:
Swimming

Paperwork
Cooking
Writing in Diary

Flaws:
Unconfident
Frail
Non-Confrontational
Sweet Tooth
Naive

There is something else I haven't brought up, that I feel the need to, in that Sam has absolutely no powers. She has no special ability, hidden or otherwise, and certainly did not inherit any kind of latent superpower from her father, at all. She's 100% normal, human and comparatively boring to everyone else on the team.

Alright then, Sheeva.

We have a good slew of special moves for her from the games. Let's talk about skills and flaws, then touch on her personality and relationships, then we'll see if anything needs reviewing.

Skills:
Strong
Pottery

Flaws:
Proud
Traditional

Let's have some ideas.
>>
>>449568
for a skill how about intimidating?
>>
>>449568
Lacking a sense of humor?

Is "Honorbound" or "Woman of her word" a skill or a flaw?
>>
>>449577

I think Honorable could dictate a +10 in some actions.
>>
>>449577
Just put down "Literally Worf" in both categories.
>>
>>449568
Is ambi-(or is it quadri?)dexterity a skill, or it's kinda baseline for a shokan?
>>
>>449587

Sounds fine to me.
>>
>>449568
"Hard to impress" for flaw?
>>
>>449601

Perhaps Hard-to-Please or Critical or Demanding?
>>
>>449568
Not sure where this would go, but as a shokan champion and part of the royal family she would have stronger political connections and sway in outworld.
Also she is more or less one of the teams seniors along with Kaito so she would be far more knowledgeable in combat and other affairs than much of the team
>>
>>449616

Ah, yes, Royalty would be a good bonus.

Skills:
Strong
Pottery
Intimidating
Honorable
Dextrous
Jumping
Royalty

Flaws:
Proud
Traditional
Humorless
Hard-to-Please
>>
>>449612
Yeah, sounds about right. I can't decide which describes it most

>>449616
It's undeniable that she is one of the most experienced member of the team.
>>
>>449622
Does Sheeva get more skills cause of experience?
>>
>>449625

Maybe. But we can always add more later.

Cao had eight skills and eight flaws.
>>
>>449625
Maybe instead of more skills, she is just better at what she is skilled at as she has been doing it longer
>>
>>449622
To be honest I think because of the weight of her flaws it makes up for the lack of them, if that makes sense.
>>
If we're done with Sheeva maybe Fireseed?
>>
Alright, now I'd like to talk a bit about how Sheeva feels about the other people on the team.

>Kaito: Old friend, once almost considered as a lover, lots of respect
>Cao: Recognizes his strength and respects that he was able to overcome Shao Kahn; still a bit personally angry over the Jagara encounter, and as a general rule doesn't much like theives
>Cassie: Flashy, like her father, rude and crude
>Jacqui: Respects her strength and drive, like her father's
>Takeda: Thinks he has an attitude problem when it comes to women
>Fox: They haven't really spoken
>Jin: She thinks he is cowardly in a few ways for hiding behind a bow and treating his Shaolin origins like a free pass
>Ling: Childish, immature, doesn't take things seriously
>Tundra: Clueless, but not a negative opinion
>Frost: Definitely a fool, guided by her emotions and anger, little pride
>Vapor: Pities her due to the shell she keeps herself in, thinks she could be so much more
>Fireseed: Respects, he gets things done
>Sam: Why is this weakling here?
>>
>>449674
Would she consider Cao as a lover?

Yes, he doesn't have a canon moveset to base them on.
>>
>>449725
So I guess we can use what we have seen him do so far as a base to build off of. He has mostly used arrows with explosives and stuff attached right?
>>
>>449709
Fireseed works for me
>>
>>449747
>>449709

Joshua Fireseed comes from the same tribe as Nightwolf. Nightwolf is now a full-on shaman, guiding the spiritual growth and maintaining the heritage and culture of his people, but Fireseed has grown disillusioned and distant from these roots. He is a mercenary, a soldier of fortune, who has operated across Earthrealm in a variety of calndestine operations. Despite his lost connection to the spiritual aspects of his tribe, he maintains the earthly skills; he is a tracker, a survivalist, one who does not shy away from using whatever means he needs to get the job done and get out alive.

He does not shy away from technology. Explosives, firearms, tech-arrows with explosive tips. He is a master knife and machete fighter, preferring distance over close quarters but a monster in close combat as well. He is not a genius, but he knows tactics and has led men into battle and covert operations.

He is not a man who makes friends very easily.
>>
>>449771
So he needs a bow attack, probably with several different arrow heads.

Maybe a sidearm shot? Like a quick pistol shot.

Maybe a gut stab with his knife, or a parry maybe.

Maybe a mine attack? where he deploys a remote mine?
>>
>>449786

Yes, he definitely would have specials revolving around his gear.

Perhaps something with traps? Like a rope or some kind of snare?
>>
>>449786
we need a tomahawk, cause he is Indian, and bayonets, cause they are cool, and compatible with guns

>>449794
That classic trap that gets the guy by his ankle with a rope, and leaves him hanging upside down?
>>
>>449794
That's where I got the mine idea from
>>
>>449801
sticky-mines?
>>
>>449800

Perhaps Fireseed is good at 720 Tomahawking.
>>
So let's examine a list

Bow
Rifle
Mine
Sidearm
Knife
Parry
Tomahawk
Snare
>>
>>449824
8 potential special moves
>>
>>449831

Well, that's if we don't want to get rid of them.

Let me list a few ideas:

Bow: Could have normals, use an explosive for enhanced?
Rifle: Burst, perhaps anti-air, a bit like Long-Range Jacqui
Mine: Could be motion or remote or timed
Sidearm: Quick draw firing
Knife: Stabbing a dude in the gut or slashing them, close range
Parry: Knife or machete parrying a special or perhaps a counter?
Tomahawk: Ranged throwing
Snare: Snaretrap to hold people in place or set them up
>>
I have concerns about new characters copying older ones overmuch (you don't want to end up with a Jarek on your hands), tomahawk and bow being Nightwolf's primary thing and Jin also being an archer with his own magic trick arrows...
>>
>>449844
Okay, howabout, the snare is the ex'd mine?

The bow and the two melee weapons could have normals.

I figured the bow shot would be towards the ground for a juggle
>>
>>449844
Sounds good mostly, except that
>>449848
in hindsight, tomahawks are cool, but Nightwolf heavily used them. The knife of the bayonet would be better for our soldier of fortune.
Maybe caltrops, or a bolas? he is a hunter as well.
>>
>>449848

Yes, of course that's always a concern, but as this is still a story-driven quest, the exact mechanics and their simularity is not necesarilly the greatest concern, if you know what I mean. At the end of the day, Special Moves are more like ideas and concepts to help guide the players for when they control the individual characters and actually get into combat, you know?
>>
>>449862
Bolas can work.

>>449863
Well in storytelling terms, I think I prefer the idea of Fireseed being the team's sniper, hanging back with the rifle. Sticking a bayonet on it could be a cool weapon for him to favor when he does get into melee though.
>>
>>449866
>>449862

Yeah, I like bolas, I can see it. I think the bayonet is a good idea, too.
>>
So here's a refined list:

Bow (Popups perhaps)
Rifle
Mine
Sidearm
Bayonet
Bolas
>>
>>449894
looks pretty good to me chief
>>
>>449894

While we're at it and still refining the list, let's talk about skills and flaws. Here are some suggested by the chat:

Skills:
Sniper
Brutal
Tactical

Flaws:
Confrontational
Hard Drinker
Lone Wolf

I think we can give him a few more, since he's been operating for quite a while. I'd say he was born before the Invasion, and was a child during.
>>
>>449922
Chat certainly knows what is it doing.
You think he does gambling too?
I'd figure that he is the patient kind. Patient like a predator sitting in the bush, but patient nonetheless,
>>
>>449932

I forgot a few other things.

Skills:
Sniper
Brutal
Tactical
Patient
Land Navigation
Camouflage
Tracker

Flaws:
Confrontational
Hard Drinker
Lone Wolf
>>
>>449922
Yeah patient works, another flaw could be potential PTSD or something
>>
>>449942
grumpy maybe?
>>
>>449942
Maybe something like mission only for a flaw? He focuses solely on the mission and other casualties dont matter as long as the mission is getting done?
>>
>>449942
Trophy hunter? Bigger kill is better even tough it's not necessary and extra dangerous?
>>
>>449942
Maybe for another flaw his tendency of being pragmatic and brutal could be off putting to his more idealistic teamates.
>>
>>449946
>>449954
>>449962
>>449967

Alright.

Flaws:
Confrontational
Hard Drinker
Lone Wolf
Unsocial
PTSD
Trophy Hunter
Mission Only
Cynic

To balance it out, I added:

Trapmaking
Carving

To his skills. That makes 8 and 8.
>>
>>449967
I like this a lot, could tie in to his tribal origin. Trophy hunting is something he carried over into his life as a mercenary.
>>
Alright, I'm a bit low-energy due to going to bed late last night and getting up early to see a shitty movie that wasn't really worth it, so I'll see you guys tomorrow.

When I return we will be proceeding with the characters, and I have a few other things lined up as well, it's not going to just be character design in this thread. I also plan on discussing details about the overall structure of the New Defenders arc itself and how it will go. You'll recall that I mentioned I wanted each episode to have its own protagonist from the team; that's why we're going so in-depth right now and digging into these characters a bit more. >>
>>451236

Frost is nice too.
>>
>>451239
Am i seeing chains? Maybe he is a kusari-gama fan?

>>451242
Does frost have independent moves from the games, or they are just copy of Sub-Zero's powers?
>>
>>451250
>Does frost have independent moves from the games, or they are just copy of Sub-Zero's powers?

Ground Freeze: Frost shoots the ground with her ice blast, freezing anyone who is standing in that area. (MK:DA, MK:U, MK:A)
Frosty Slide: Frost slides across the floor and trips the opponent if she comes in contact. (MK:DA, MK:U, MK:A)
Teleporting Uppercut: Frost disappears over one side of the screen and comes back from the other, uppercutting the opponent. This moves seems to be, ironically enough, adapted from Scorpion's Teleport Punch with a new twist. (MK:A)
Ice Puddle: Frost shoots the ground with her ice blast, creating a puddle that the opponent will begin to slip around on if nearby. (MK:A)

She was a little bit copied.
>>
>>451250
>Am i seeing chains? Maybe he is a kusari-gama fan?

On that note, I was thinking along the lines of like a rope-dart or a chain-weapon like that one, paying a bit of homage to Scorpion.
>>
>>451256
Sure about the rope-dart? Takeda and Scorpion has them too, so on one hand it fits into the Shirai Ryu' MO, on the other hand we already have plenty of them

>>451253
So we were thinking about AoE attacks for her.
How about "Whip-rain"?
She creates a whip made out of ice and overly huge spikes, and slings it around her head. Bathing a huge area around her in sharp ice-spikes.
>>
>>451256
I like knife on a string as much as the next guy but I think a kusarigama could add a bit more diversity to moves
>>
>>451256
Could do, maybe get a little more active with the chains and wrap up for "hold still and let me hit you?"
>inb4 Fox devolves...evolves into a direct Tundra rival due to Lin-Kuei/Shrairyu competitiveness.
>>
I've also been slightly infatuated with the idea of having claws on Fox. I don't think foxes are entirely known for being voracious clawed beasts or anything, but I just think that subtle claws are kind of underrated as far as characters go.

Could be on his fingers, his palms, coming from his knuckles.

What do you think?
>>
>>451286
Yes.
Also works for extra grip on the chains as long as he watches his grip during a throw.
Locks in, you know.
>>
This is the only other picture I have of him.
>>
>>451286
Oh I am liking that idea.
maybe they could be retractile for convenience.
Also, do you think he should have a similar devices in his boots?
>>
>>451291
>Subtle claws
>in his first fight all the non-ninjas are confused why he just keeps open palm slapping folks in the face.
>>
>>451292

Yeah, I'd like that. I think it would be neat if he could scale walls like they're nothing, perhaps even running up a wall if he had enough speed.

THIS IS SLIPKNOT, THE MAN WHO CAN CLIMB ANYTHING.
Sorry I just can't get over that shit

>>451290

That could work as well.

So, are we thinking a claw/chain combo?
>>
>>451295
might be cool. On that note.
Drugging the sharp and/or pointy things with various plant toxins and combinations?
Y/N?
>>
>>451301

That could be a thing. Perhaps Fox could be the team's poison specialist, preferring to work in subtle ways.

Thoughts?
>>
>>451295
I'll always have Prince of Persia in mind when wall-running becomes involved.

claw/chain combo sounds awesome

>>451301
I am not sure. On one hand; it's cunning, something like a fox would do. On other hand, who knows how creatures of other realms might react to poisons.
>>
>>451311
>>451304
>>451301
still if you guys are for it, then I don't mind
>>
>>451311
One way to find out anon.

Consider it freelance pharma work. If it's that big of a deal he could stick to hallucinogens and just capitalize on disorientation.
>>
Alright, let's talk about Fox's other gear.

Could he have a suit like Takeda's?

Or does he prefer going all-natural?

I just had a thought that, if he had a suit like Takeda's, perhaps it could focus on more subtle aspects, like a cloaking mechanism/active camo kind of thing.

Thoughts?
>>
>>451325
I mean he could, there's the New Defenders backing to work with even if it's fairly uncommon for the Shirai Ryu.

So I suppose it comes down to his personality, which I am currently blanking on.
>>
>>451319
well then. We'll need someone who knows antidotes on our side anyways.
Turana is no longer around to counter poisons anymore.

>>451325
Yes, sneaking suits the fox well. Maybe he could have Lockpicking and Security, as skills.

I am not sure about the suit, he feels more like an all-natural guy. Perhaps some devices, like the Stealh-boys from Fallout?
>>
>>451331
FF probably knows how to counter his own stock at the very least if we're going POISONS with him.

Kaito can do water related healing, so there's that I suppose? Not sure how it would be for counteracting toxins though.
>>
>>451328
>which I am currently blanking on.

I wanted to talk about that.

Fox is naturally friends with Takeda, they go back a long ways. I have always seen Fox as reserved, not entirely quiet, but not actively approaching others to make friends. I think he shares a few traits with Frost, but isn't as impulsive as she is. I think he may not trust people from other groups, as he has come to rely on the Shirai Ryu for most of his life.

To get an idea of his slightly cold, pragmatic, perhaps somewhat-emotionless view on others, refer to the chart in>>448829 and see how he sees the others.

Ah, alright. Yes, then we might have some tech for cloaking or the like laying around, but Fox would understand that can fail I think.
He wouldn't typically rely on it.
Maybe a gadget or two on hand but traditional garb would be my vote.
>>
>>451342
I feel like this is more fitting myself
>>
>>451342
>>451343

Alright, I'm down with it. Natural clothing, natural style, natural poisons.

So, how do we feel about his primary weapon?

Should it be a Kusarigama like >>451250?
>>
>>451343
>octocamo ninja suit cloth
>standard grey neutral setting because grey is a stealthy color and nobody bothers to double check it outside of "idk, another weirdo in his pajamas"
>>
>>451345
I have no strong feeling one way or the other personally. Could be cool, if other people want to go for it I have no problems with it.
I don't hate him going for a scorpion homage either though.
>>
>>451345
I think it's best, because it's still Shirai Ryu, but not the same as the originals who use dart.

Unless someone else really wants the rope-dart, or has a better chain-based weapon in mind?
>>
>>451352
I mean it's not bad really, does kinda screw the range on the poisons...
>>
>>451352
But hey, it's fine. Maybe he uses shuriken or something for a distance attack, or uses the chain to drag over and the blade to deliver.

Two pronged approach as it were. Possibly more.
>>
>>451360

We could have poisoned Kunai.

Let's draft up some special moves, then, shall we?

>Chain-Trip, use the chain to trip the opponent
>Poison Kunai
>Claw-Grapple
>Get-Over-Here, but slashing them with the sickle afterwards

Any other ideas?
>>
>>451366
Disarming with the chain? I think it was the major use of that weapon
>>
>>451366
Smoke bomb "teleport" punch/kick/knee to the face?
Which is to say "SMOKE BOMB!" into a strike while they're distracted.

Also cool with "POCKET SAND" into haymaker.
>>
>>451372
I'd argue that the smoke could also be drugged, but I suppose for working in groups being made of poisons would be a liability.
>>
>>451366
Wrap the chain around their throats then teleport behind the to start choking them over his back
>>
>>451366
Flip throw
Somehow get behind the enemy, maybe with a jump. Then get the chain around his neck, turns around, and slams the victim down on the other side.
>>
>>451372
>>451377
>>451378

>Chain-Trip, use the chain to trip the opponent
>Poison Kunai
>Claw-Grapple
>Get-Over-Here, but slashing them with the sickle afterwards
>Smoke Bomb Stunner
>Chain Flip Throw
>Chain Choke

You know that shit that goes on in the movies with rope darts/rope weapons, where they wrap it around a person, then step on the rope to bring them closer? I think Fox could work with something like that
>>
>>451383
Sounds fun.
>>
>>451383
Of course he could.
>>
>>451383
Ah jeez
>FF is basically "just a dude"
>with ninja training
Nothing wrong with that, I just feel like Sam's going to explode and he's just going to just be 9 shades of shrugging internally.
>>
>>451383
Maybe he could have a rope-launcher.

Hear me out; it launches a retractile rope, with two claws on each end. The claws latch onto two things, maybe two opponents, or an opponent and a heavy item.
Then the rope draws back, pulling the two items together at high velocity.
>>
>>451408

An interesting idea, but it seems a bit close to Takeda's whip-harness to me.

What about a kind of like Flash Powder? He could use a Smoke Bomb for a distraction or escape, but perhaps Flash Powder could be used to temporarily blind the enemy.
>>
>>451415
Blowing the powder into the enemies face, or using a bomb? Sure
>>
I was just eating lunch, now writing up detailed descriptions for the Special Moves.

In the meantime, let's talk about skills and flaws:

Skills:
Poison
Acrobatics

Flaws:
Unemotional
Bad Sense of Humor
>>
>>451464
Some skills could be, climbing/general acrobatics.

Actual shinobi arts, you know, saboteur rather than assassin stuff.

flaws could be Traditionalist, prickly and maybe good hearted.

I have a feeling he's another Paragon like Kaito
>>
>>451464
>bad sense of humor
Black/dark humor?
>>
>>451464
Another Ambush specialist maybe?

>>451471
What makes you think he has paragon values? He seems more gray to me than anything. Considering his indifference for his teammates.

I like the traditionalist angle.
>>
Here's what I've got so far.

Chain-Trip: Fox throws out the blunt end of his chain and then pulls it tight before bringing up a foot and stepping on it to pull his opponent to the ground.
Enhanced: Chain-Drag: As above, but after they are on the ground, Fox drags his enemy towards him and then slashes them with the sickle.

Poison Kunai: Fox throws a kunai laced with poison that does damage over time.
Enhanced: Poison Barrage: Fox throws out three kunai in a wide arc to make avoiding the projectile more difficult.

Claw Grapple: Extending his palm-claws, Fox grabs the enemy and drags them close before slashing them and spinning them away.
Enhanced: Claw Tear: As above, but after the initial slash Fox twists the opponent around for a second slash before throwing them off to the side.

Stay Over There: Fox throws out the blunt end of his chain, hitting the opponent in the head and making them back up a few feet.
Enhanced: Get Outta Here: Fox throws out the sickle of his chain, which wraps around the opponent’s waist. He then yanks it, causing them to spin away and fall backwards while cutting them.

Smoke Bomb: Fox throws a smoke-bomb onto the ground, vanishing and reappearing behind his opponent.
Enhanced: Fox throws a flash-bomb onto the ground, which stuns enemies as he gets behind them.

Chain Choke: Fox flips over the back of his opponent while wrapping his chain around their neck, then pulls on it in order to choke them.
Enhanced: Chain Flip Throw: As above, but afterwards he rolls forward and throws his opponent over his back to end up in front of him for a follow-up attack.

What Goes Up: Fox throws the blunt end of his chain upwards, wrapping around something to allow him to swing away and out of harm’s reach.
Enhanced: Comes Back Down: When he lands after swinging, he pulls on the chain to make it fall, causing the blunt end to come crashing down on his opponent from above.
>>
We can focus on the skills and flaws of Fox later on. How about Frost now?

>>451523
>>451518

Alright, let's talk about Frost. In the chat, we discussed how Frost's powers seem to more affect the environment around her than directly focused outwards like Sub.

So, here's what we have so far:

>Ice Daggers
>Ice Puddle
>Freezing Opponent's Legs
>Creating a fog of icy cold that slows down an opponent
>Cryoportation through the ground

Thoughts?
>>
>>451556
`I mean I like it. I'm just not sure what to add or whine about.
>>
>>451556
What about the ice clone counter?
>>
I had a thought just now, a kind of a "BACK OFF" thing: A burst of blue cryo-energy outwards in all directions, which knocks opponents backwards. Enhanced version could free them. Like a "Force Pulse" from Star Wars
Very uncontrolled, very emotional; like she is
>>
>>451576
Not bad.
>>
Progress so far:

Ice Blades: Frost creates a pair of Ice Daggers and slashes her opponent with two quick strikes.
Enhanced: Ice Shiv: As above, but afterwards she turns and stabs both into the opponent in a series of rapid impalements.

Ice Puddle: Frost creates a puddle of ice on the ground that causes anyone who walks over it to slip.
Enhanced: Spike Puddle: As above, but when they slip they land on a series of small spikes jutting upwards from the puddle, doing additional damage.

Cool Down: Frost shoots a ray of cold at an opponent’s legs, freezing them in place for a follow-up attack.
Enhanced: Chill Out: As above, but then she causes the ice to explode, sending the opponent flying up into the air for a follow-up attack.

Chilling Wind: Frost holds out her hands and conjures up a softly-swirling fog that causes enemies who enter it to become slowed down in their reactions and attacks.
Enhanced: Killing Wind: As above, but now the wind moves faster, dealing damage to all within it save for Frost herself.
>>
>>451576
That sounds good. Maybe she could have a passive aoe attack where she summons a mini-blizzard that slows and weakens enemies inside as well as granting concealment. Enhanced could make it do chip damage too
>>
>>451623
Never mind you already have chilling wind. Maybe to keep with her more unfocused powers instead of an ice ball she can shoot more of an ice beam?
>>
>>451633
In the games, she doesn't projectile her ice at all, she has to channel the cold through a surface to freeze people.
>>
>>451633
>Maybe to keep with her more unfocused powers instead of an ice ball she can shoot more of an ice beam?

Definitely, yeah. I'm adding a few more.

Cryoport: Frost falls backwards onto the ground, moving through the floor in an icy burst to end up behind an opponent, standing behind them.
Enhanced: Cryoport Uppercut: As above, only now Frost appears beneath an opponent, uppercutting them as she pops straight up and lands on her feet.

Frozen Stiletto: Frost freezes her foot and then kicks an opponent, stabbing them with an icicle at the bottom of her boot.
Enhanced: As above, but Frost kicks the opponent multiple times before breaking off the ice in them and kicking their face with her other leg to knock them back.

Ice Slide: Frost slides forward, looking to trip up her opponent.
Enhanced: Ice Skates: Instead of going under her opponent, Frost creates two blades on her feet that resemble skates and then slides forward, backflipping as she reaches them and slashing upwards in a backflip-kick.
>>

135 KB JPG
So, now we can move onto our new prince, Cao Kahnzedah.

We have the benefit of having a previous document with his stuff detailed.

Let's start off with his special moves.

Leg Reap: Cao grabs an opponent by the chest and tucks a leg behind them, pushing them forward while sweeping his leg back towards him, tripping them.
Enhanced: Spinning Reap: Cao grabs an opponent by the chest and trips them with his leg, but as he sweeps his leg back towards him he maintains momentum and spins to deliver another kick to the opponent's head as they try to get back up.

Overhead Tuck: Cao leaps up over an opponent's shoulders and rolls down their back, leaving them open to attack from behind for a moment.
Enhanced: Overhead Throw: Cao leaps up and grabs an opponent's shoulders as he flips over their head, bringing them with him as he lands behind them and throwing them over his own head.

Rolling Dodge: Cao quickly rolls in a strategic direction to avoid an opponent's attack or grab, immediately springing up to his feet afterwards.
Enhanced: Rolling Throw: Cao rolls towards an opponent, reaching up and grabbing their waist and planting a foot in their stomach before rolling backwards and throwing them behind him, then rolling forwards and getting up to his feet.

Backflip Kick: Cao dives backwards, placing his palms on the ground and kicking out with his legs as he flips back, gaining both distance and damaging an opponent.
Enhanced: Backflip Dropkick: Cao jumps up with his legs tucked in tightly before exploding out with them, planting them both on an opponent and knocking him back onto the ground, simultaneously propelling himself into a backflip onto his hands then feet.

Catch and Parry: Cao catches an opponent's attack with his hands and redirects it away from him, spinning towards the opponent and hitting them with an elbow slam.
Enhanced: Catch and Combo: Cao catches an opponent's attack with his hands and redirects it away from him, spinning towards the opponent and hitting them with an elbow slam, a knee slam and a roundhouse to the back of the head to knock them away.

So, obviously the big difference now is Shao Kahn powers.

Looking strictly at his old list of abilities, should we change any of them or keep them the same before we add Shao Kahn moves? Or should we add Shao Kahn stuff to any of his older abilities?
>>
>>451741
maybe the "BAFOODA" force spear?
I don't figure Cao a hammer-user, but a slim, ranged would buff his repertoire
>>
>>451741
>Catch and Parry
Maybe when he parries he does a big shao khan shoulder dash?
>Enhanced: Overhead Throw
Maybe we add some shao Kahn strength and sen them flying.
>>
Another important factor is if Cao kept the hammer and staff.

Personally, I think Cao keeps the hammer and can summon it at will, but put the staff back in the sanctum.
>>
>>451759
Shao had a staff?

>>
>>451759
That sounds good to me. During the quest Cao was always more hesitant to use it and only pulled it out to fight Onaga. It would make sense for him to stick to the hammer
>>
Well let's also have a look at Shao Kahn's moves and see how we want Cao to incorporate them.

Light Spear: Shao Kahn crouches down to his knees and throws a long light spear at his opponent.
Charging Spikes: Shao Kahn shoulder rams his opponent with a shadow trail following behind him, much like Johnny Cage's Shadow moves. All three games (MKII, MK3, UMK3), "Charging Spikes" had white trailing shadows and in Trilogy was replaced to green, however in N64 version, the shadows were blue.
Wrath Hammer Attack: Shao Kahn summons his Wrath Hammer, seemingly from thin air, and smash his opponent over the head with it, setting them up for a free hit. In Deception and on, the Wrath Hammer became a weapon style and thus was no longer needed as an individual special move.
Explosive Ball: Shao Kahn fires a green star like fireball, seemingly from his mouth or eyes.
Uplifting Knee: Shao Kahn performs a rising knee attack with a streak following behind him, much like Johnny Cage's Shadow moves. Between two games, "Uplifting Knee" had white shadows, but in Trilogy they were replaced by green, however in the N64 version, they were blue.
Hammer Dance: Shao Kahn swings his hammer at an alarming rate, causing his foe to fly. He makes nine dancing strikes and one final strike. (MK:SM)
Grab and Punch: Shao Kahn lifts his opponent up by the throat with one hand and then smashes his fist into their face, sending them sailing back. In Deception, this is simply his throw, and if performed next to death traps could automatically knock opponents into them.
Emperor's Shield: Shao Kahn creates an energy shield to either reverse attacks or to shatter the opponent.
Mystic Choke: Shao Kahn engulfs his foe in a force field and slams him/her twice in the chest.
Hammer Throw: Shao Kahn throws his hammer at an opponent, stunning and setting them up for a free hit. This move is only blockable with Nightwolf's Absorb, Kratos's Golden Fleece, and Kenshi's Blade Absorb, or dodgeable with Freddy Krueger's Nightmare Stance and Jade's Shadow Flash.
Hammer Swing: Shao Kahn uppercuts the opponent with his hammer, also allowing a possible juggling combo if the move connects.
Hammer Cut: Kahn sweeps the foe with his hammer.
Upward Shoulder: Shao Kahn charges upwards, juggling the opponent.
X-Ray Move - It's Official: Shao Kahn hammers his opponent to the ground and grabs their arm. He then stomps on their head (breaking the whole skull), lifts the opponent up by the arm, and delivers a skull-shattering headbutt.
>>
>>451782
For the xray we might change it to the way we took down Shao in our mind. Cao uses his extreme dexterity and strength to pulverize his opponents with a flurry of blows from all directions
>>
>>451813
Besides that all of Shao's moves involving his hammer we should keep. Besides Shao, what other powers did Cao keep from the souls he absorbed?
>>
>>451818

Probably the knife-throwing. Perhaps he let go of Kobra, so we lost fireballs.
>>
>>451823
Ok so we will keep the soul dagger generation as our kinda light projectile attack, and the thrown wrath hammer can be a heavier ranged attack. For the soul daggers the ex can be he throws several at a time like mileena does with her sai's
>>
Changes so far:

Dropped backflip kick in favor of dedicated dropkick.

Dropkick: Cao leaps up and brings up both feet to kick an opponent, sending them backwards while he lands on his side and then gets back up.
Enhanced: Rushing Dropkick: Cao propels himself forward with green energy, tucking his legs in before planting his feet on an opponent, using the momentum of the dash to knock them back onto the ground, simultaneously propelling himself into a backflip onto his hands then feet.

Catch and Parry: Cao catches an opponent's attack with his hands and redirects it away from him before rushing at the opponent in a green dash and slamming his shoulder into them, knocking them to the ground.
Enhanced: Catch and Combo: Cao catches an opponent's attack with his hands and redirects it away from him, spinning towards the opponent and hitting them with an elbow slam, a knee slam before summoning his hammer and swinging it up into them, sending them flying backwards.
>>
>>451844
Dropkick is something that should be in the arsenal of every self-respecting brawler
>>
Summon Hammer: Cao summons his Wrath Hammer and holds it at the ready, able to perform a few actions from here:
Hammer Toss: Cao pulls it back before violently throwing it in the direction of his enemy.
Enhanced: Hammer Return: As above, but when it connects, Cao compels it to come back to his hand, hitting the opponent a second time from behind.
Hammer Uppercut: Cao swings the hammer like a golf club, sending his opponent up into the air.
Enhanced: Hammer Combo: As above, but as they are coming back down, Cao hits them with a second hammer uppercut as he steps forward and keeps the momentum from the first swing going.
Hammer Slam: Cao brings the hammer straight downwards onto the ground in front of him, smashing it and anyone in its way.
Enhanced: Leaping Slam: Cao leaps forward and slams the hammer down, springing towards an enemy and giving them less room to escape.
Banish Hammer: Cao puts the hammer away.

Green Dagger: Cao summons a small dagger out of green energy and throws it for a quick projectile.
Enhanced: Green Lance: Cao summons a much larger weapon and hurls it at the enemy, impaling them and sending them flying backwards, dealing much more damage.
>>
>>451891
All looks good
>>
Let's talk about his skills and flaws.

Have any changed? Any flaws we can remove?

Skills:

Artistic: Cao receives a +10 on all rolls relating to drawing or painting, provided he has some means or materials with which to do so.

Disarm: Cao receives a +10 on all rolls to disarm an armed opponent, robbing them of their weapon, or to otherwise impair an armored individual, such as by pulling his helmet down over his eyes.

Escape Artist: Cao receives a +10 on all rolls to rapidly escape or run away from a bad situation, including scaling walls or leaping across rooftops while he is being chased.

Lock Picker: Cao receives a +10 on all rolls to pick a lock on a door, chest or similar object, provided he has tools at his disposal.

Runner: Cao receives a +10 on all rolls to run for an extended period of time without stopping, even over difficult terrain, regardless of the weather.

Stealthy: Cao receives a +10 on all rolls relating to hiding, sneaking or otherwise attempting to remain silent or hidden, provided he is by himself.

Thief: Cao receives a +10 on all rolls to pickpocket, distract someone or use sleight of hand, or any situation in which he needs to obscure the he has taken something.

Use the Environment: Cao receives a +10 on all rolls relating to use of the environment, from improvising weapons to scaling walls or swinging on ropes; this also applies to picking up rocks or sand to use against an enemy.

Flaws:

Apathetic: Cao is often bored, with no further goals than surviving and providing for himself and his sisters through thievery and no ambitions to change his station in life.

Bruises Easily: Cao can take a beating, but isn't very good at getting back up once knocked down, and does all he can to avoid taking damage, either running away or dishing it out himself.

Cannot Swim: Cao is terrified of the water and what may lurk below its surface due to a traumatic experience during his childhood that robbed him of any desire to learn how to swim.

Illiterate: Cao has no proper education in any sense, having learned all he needs to know growing up on the streets, and as such cannot read or write any form of script beyond drawing pictures.

Loner: Despite his fear of being alone, he shuns others, appearing as rude or indifferent and is not very charismatic, nor does he see any real value in teamwork or splitting his shares with anyone who aren't his sisters.

Problem with Authority: Cao will often go out of his way to purposefully mess with figures of authority such as guards, and refuses to cooperate or work with them due to his father's service and execution at the hands of the Kahn.

Reckless: Cao sees things in the short term and thus often acts in the moment, recklessly ignoring consequences that may come later and acting in the interest of himself or his sisters.

Selfish: Cao tends to see others who have more than him as not having earned it, quick to justify stealing from them as helping himself due to him deserving it more.
>>
>>451901
Both selfish and apathetic don't really seem to fit with Cao in his position now.

Selfish does not work as he can't really envy those above him as he is the one above others.
Apathy could be replaced with disillusionment and his one goal in life, keeping his sisters feed is now not a priority. So now Cao as shown in his little feature earlier is without any major purpose in life
>>
>>451901
On the skills side of things Cao is now royalty so that could be applied as a bonus like to was for Sheeva

Andela I see is a girl struggling with a few things. She's come out of her shell a bit over the course of the story, but I think, at her core, she's strill struggling with some fundamental issues related to her identity, her destiny, her sexuality and her place in the realms. She's a child of two worlds but isn't sure she fits in either, and doesn't have many friends beyond Tundra. She's expanded that to include Kaito and other people on the Dragon Wing, but isn't sure about being on the New Defenders.

But she's got power, power like her father and mother, but it is raw, unfocused, difficult to master. She often hides from others, the world and her own power, but as she demonstrated by holding off the wraiths at the end of the Lin Kuei quest, she can be very powerful if she lets loose. But I think she is afraid to, I think she is afraid of herself in a few ways, and this self-doubt is what keeps her at bay.

Well, Jin has one of those.

Let's think of another weapon for Vapor...
>>
>>452396

We're chatting up a storm in the thread about a weapon for Vapor.

I advocate a three-section staff, for the connection to Jade and the fluidity resembling Smoke, and it's compact. She can put it on her belt, say.

Other ideas include khopeshes, hooks and short blades. Thoughts?

She uses her powers to make them go so fast they can pierce through steel. She could also have a move revolved around her spinning really fast and shooting out a barrage.

Nah, sharp instruments don't really mesh with a gentle nature
three-section staff is cool. Jade-y.
>>
>>452446

There's a bit too much arguing in the chat over her weapon.

So for now, none.

Alright, well, we've spoken a lot in the chat, but let's continue on with the next character.

We'll do Kung Ling next.

She has a shapeshifting spear, so I think we could come up with a few interesting special moves.

Let's have some ideas.

Well, we are talking a lot in the chat, but here's what we've got so far:

Quick-Stabs - A series of fast stabs
Dash Stab - Dashing forward for an impalement
Scythe Trip - Head changes into a scythe and she trips the opponent by hooking their legs
Polevault Kick - Stick head into ground, propel self forward, kick
Spinning Attack - Stick head into ground, spin around the pole in a swinging kick thing
Air-Launch - Stick them in the gut and throw them upwards
Sideshow Bob Smack - Stick spearhead into ground, pull backwards and let go, smacking opponent like Sideshow Bob with a rake
Falcon Attack - Kung Lao-style diving attack from the air with her spear

Current Progress:

Stabbing Flurry: Ling uses a series of quick, forward stabs to attack an opponent, attacking their legs, stomach and chest.
Enhanced: Stabbing Fury: As above, but she finishes it off by extending her spear to stab the opponent’s neck, knocking them backwards while she retracts it.

Dash Stab: Ling dashes quickly forward, lunging and impaling her foe on her staff in a low attack.
Enhanced: Stab and Slam: As above, but she finishes it off by transforming the head into a trident and stabbing them in the chest, then lifting her opponent overhead and slamming them behind her.

Scythe Trip: Ling transforms the head of her spear into a scythe and swings it at an opponent’s feet, tripping them and making them fall backwards.
Enhanced: Scythe Fall: As above, only after tripping her opponent, she keeps the scythe going, spins and then brings it down on their chest, impaling them.

At the Ready: Ling stabs the head of her spear into the ground and holds onto it. From here, she can do a number of things:
Pole Vault Kick: Ling uses her spear to spring forward and kick an opponent backwards, pulling the spear out of the ground as she does.
Enhanced: Pole Vault Slam: As above, but she follows it up with bringing the staff overhead and down onto the opponent while he is on the ground before stepping back.
Pole Dancer: Ling spins around the shaft of the spear, kicking out with her legs in two different directions to attack the ground and air before landing behind the spear and taking it out.
Enhanced: Pole Twist: As above, but when her legs connect with an opponent, she hooks them with her feet and drags them back with her, throwing them behind her as she lands.
In Your Face: Ling pulls back on the shaft of the spear before letting go, smacking an opponent in the face with the end of the staff before removing it.
Enhanced: In Your Junk: As above, but while the opponent is reeling backwards, Ling takes the weapon out of the ground and angles it before stabbing it down into their groin.
Remove Spear: Ling can also remove the spear from the ground and disengage.

Diving Falcon: While in the air, Ling points her spear at an enemy and dives downwards towards them, even if she was jumping in the opposite direction at the time.
Enhanced: Impaling Falcon: As above, but when Ling hits her opponent, she impales them and twists the spear to do additional damage before kicking off of them and flipping backwards.

So that leaves Kaito, Cassie and Jin.

I can do the latter two while I'm at work tomorrow here and there, but we'll leave Kaito for last, since we need to spend a bit more time with him.

But as I must soon go to bed for getting up early for work, I would like to move our thread into the next stage. I would like to open a discussion across the floor for any and all ideas and input in regards to what you would like to see out of the New Defenders story arc.

As I mentioned before, I want the arc to be episodic in nature, with each episode featuring a different protagonist (but some of them would get two, like Kaito and Cao). My usual number for episodes per "arc" or season is twenty, and if we go with that, I have a twenty episode lineup planned so far, in no particular order:

>Kaito (x2)
>Cao (x2)
>Cassie (x2)
>Takeda (x2)
>Ling (x2)
>Sam (First Episode)
>Tundra
>Fox
>Jin
>Fireseed
>Jacqui
>Frost
>Vapor
>Sheeva
>Finale of New Defenders Quest

However, if I were to increase the number of episodes to, say, 25, we could have episodes where we play as non-New Defenders, such as:

>Skarlet
>Trevor
>Kotal
>Ashrah
>Tri-Borg
>Mileena
>The Dragon Wing Crew
>Other

Furthermore, one thing I want to experiment with is having a poll at the end of each episode, where you vote on who the next protagonist is.

So, here's what I'd like you guys to discuss, and your discussion will help me make a few choices and provide some key input:

>How many episodes? 20 or 25? Perhaps more?
>Should you vote on the next protagonist or should it all be set ahead of time?
>What would you like to see in an episode? A certain location, character interraction, villain, anything. Suggest ideas of who and what you'd like to see.

What are your thoughts? Let me know!
>>
>>452968
I'd like to go with 25 for the episodes so we can go with other characters. As for the suggestion on choosing the protag I thing you should let us have a choice but let the episodes happen within a timeframe within one another. Say you give us 4 options to choose from, I think it would be fore the best if you made these specific episodes have similar dates so we dont have to much disparage between episodes. I guess to summarize i'm saying to have a timeline that makes sense between episodes so we dont just do a bunch of big events in a row and end up doing the lesser episodes. Give us 3-4 choices and then do a time skip or something similar.
>>
>>452968
Has Triborg been introduced yet?
>>
>>452985

Not yet, but the wacky and lovable (not at all murderous) robot will be introduced to the New Defenders as a training aide for the ND Danger Room, designed by the Special Forces and based on Lin Kuei cyber-tech, and absolutely nothing will go wrong with that.
>>
>>452987
Sounds harmless. I feel confident in voting for a 25 minimum to ensure that we get one episode of perfectly safe and boring training room dummy adventures.

Yeah, that sounds like a fine idea.

How about the episodes in particular; what would you like to see? Moments, events, characters, villains, relationships, etc.

Anything else? Is he much different than cannon?

>>456334

Sorry, I had a late dinner.

Well, due to Lao sticking around, Jin never felt excluded from the temple due to his cousin taking over after Liu fucked off. So even though he never went through his Shaolin-in-exile-thief phase, I think he would maintain many of the same skills as before.

Though, perhaps, if we were to give him one final flaw, I think that perhaps "Quick to jump to violence" or something along those lines might fit well. His pre-battle interractions come off occasionally as very "let's skip the talk and get to the bloodshed" kind of thing, even though he has demonstrated an emptitude for diplomacy.

Yeah, I just never added the wind abilities, so I had to hunt them down too.

We voted "Wind Manipulation" and "Flight" but I didn't have Kaito straight-up flying so much as he is pushing the air behind him, propelling himself upwards and in new directions.

Bloody Hands Special Moves:
Guu-tama - Bullet-Fist: Kaito puts his strengthened thumbs on top of his fists and rapidly punches his opponent. If the difference between the fighter's strength and the target area's softness is great enough, it leaves tiny dents behind each punch.
Osaekomu - Immobilize: Kaito performs a kicking stab with the toes into the opponent's legs, aimed at the Talus Calcaneus, the bone that connects the lower leg and the foot meets, with the intent to hobble them.
Jajjimento - Judgement: Kaito thrusts his fist forward in a concentrated and ferocious strike, right to the middle of the forehead, aiming to burst the frontal vein, causing nausea and unconsciousness in lesser men.
Jinzou-kushi - Kindey Skewer: A double palmstrike on the victim's floating ribs. The purpose of the strike is to break the ribs inwards, so they would poke the inner organs.

Water:
Manipulate Water: Kaito can control the flow of water, making it rise, fall, flow and take shapes, but the water must come from an external source.
Healing Water: If he concentrates and brings his mind to a calm place, Kaito can use the water he manipulates to heal wounds.
Water Shield: Kaito can create a defensive shield around himself comprised of flowing water; this is particularly effective against fire-based attacks.

Earth:
Manipulate Earth: Kaito can stomp his hands or feet onto the earth to cause rock and stone to jut upwards or create small boulders that shoot up into the air.
Tremorsense: If he concentrates and places his hands on the ground, Kaito can sense vibrations in the earth, fine enough to detect nearby insects or approaching people.

Fire:
Manipulate Fire: Kaito can grab nearby sources of fire and cause them to leap up into the air, dictating the flow and direction of the flames.
Conjure Fire: Kaito can draw from his inner flame and conjure fireballs and sprays of flame from his hands.
Absorb Fire: Kaito can draw fire from active sources in his environment and absorb them through his hands, giving him an energy boost.

Wind:
Manipulate Wind: Kaito can manipulate the air around him into creating gusts of wind that can knock opponents back and lift them up.
Flight: Kaito can push the air around him to propell himself in a number of directions.

Okay suggestions
Skills
Massage - I like to thing that due to his knowledge in the Bloody Hands, he knows quite a bit about anatomy and physiology. Maybe not surgeon level, but good enough for acupuncture.
Determinator- "Kaito is a man that fate has tossed around and kicked down, but he keeps getting back up" - straight form the bin
Outdoorsman - If he was a world-traveller, then he probably know a thing or two about surviving in the wilderness. or that's already included in "well-travelled"?
Man with the Plan/Adaptable - deciding that if Skarlet is drinking his blood, then he just has to lace it with alcohol to incapacitate her. Using alcohol again to take out military outposts. Using an identification password to counter shape-shifters. and a lot other
Basic know-how: due to travelling a lot, and living off on odd jobs, he knows how to do a lot of works on very basic level.

Flaws
Man of his word - if the villain manages to get a promise from him letting go after the ruckus, you can bet your lunch money, and collage savings he'll let him.
Good luck getting it tough.
Clear conscience - included in Paragon?
Second chances - included in Paragon?

I've always wanted to do a kotal quest, myself.

Work is progressing on the document as well. All of Sam's bio and specials are finished.

Shove: Sam tries her best to shove an enemy back to get some space. This does no damage.
Enhanced: Full Shove: Sam uses both hands to push an enemy back, using her full upper body. This also does no damage.

Slap: Sam rears backwards with her hand and slaps her enemy, doing a minimal amount of non-harmful damage.
Enhanced: Backhand: Sam follows up her slap with another with the back of her hand, but this hurts her as well.

Pistol: Sam draws her pistol and shakily aims it, probably missing anything that isn’t point-blank.
Enhanced: Fundamentals: Sam takes a moment to slow her breathing, steady herself, control her trigger finger and line up her sight with the target. She will probably still miss.

Baton: Sam draws her baton and attempts to use it to hit an opponent. This attack does not do much damage due to her lack of muscles and slightly weak wrists.
Enhanced: Double Slam: Sam swings twice in an attempt to beat her opponent into submission. This has a chance of hurting her wrist due to the expended and desperate effort.

Pepper Spray: Sam draws her pepper spray and aims it at her opponent, hoping to hit them in the eyes. This can stun an enemy for a follow-up attack.
Enhanced: Pepper Cloud: Sam uses much more pepper spray, creating a cloud of it that hangs around for a moment until it naturally disperses which affects all who enter it, including Sam herself.

Taser: Sam uses a personal taser against an opponent, delivering an electrical shock to them.
Enhanced: Taser Gun: Sam fires a longer-range taser cord to deliver an electrical shock to an enemy further away.

Grapple: Sam attempts to grapple with her opponent and subdue them, but cannot sustain the grapple for very long.
Enhanced: Handcuffs: Once Sam has grappled an opponent, she attempts to put them in handcuffs. This may or may not actually work, depending on how much resistance she receives.

Work so far:

Bullet Fist: Kaito puts his strengthened thumbs on top of his fists and rapidly punches his opponent, leaving tiny dents behind each punch.
Enhanced: Guu-tama: Kaito goes through the same motions, but instead of punching his opponent, he uses his palms to shoot concentrated bursts of air that hits an opponent from a distance in the same manner.

Immobilizing Kick: Kaito performs a stabbing kick with his foot, aimed at the joint on his opponent’s leg that meets the foot, hobbling them temporarily.
Enhanced: Osaekomu: Kaito uses his water powers to push his leg forward with a burst of water to kick harder.

Judgment: Kaito slams his fist against the opponent’s forehead, causing them to stumble backwards and hold their face.
Enhanced: Jajjimento: Kaito uses his fire powers to cover his fist in burning flames which deal additional damage when the attack connects.

Kidney Skewer: Kaito strikes his opponent’s ribs with a double palm strike with the intent to crack them.
Enhanced: Jinzou-kushi: Kaito uses his earth powers by stomping his foot onto the ground, bringing up two rocks from the floor, before double palm striking the rocks and launching them towards an enemy and hitting them in the ribs.

It would be kinda fun to see what Katio is doing with our bandana in Edenia

Neat.

Do you think we should add "Disgust of Sorcery" as a flaw for Sheeva?
I remember that when she was asked for the first time about her opinion on sorcerers she said that they are a "cowardly lot"
>>

That could probably be a thing, yeah.

Anyway I'm going to finish the rest of the Special Moves for Kaito today.

How about we call the wind-enhanced Bullet-Fist Kamikaze AKA "Divine wind"?
>>
>>463407

Well I was only trying to maintain the original names that whoever that one dude who made them up used. But sure, I like that.

Bullet Fist: Kaito puts his strengthened thumbs on top of his fists and rapidly punches his opponent, leaving tiny dents behind each punch.
Enhanced: Kamikaze: Kaito goes through the same motions, but instead of punching his opponent, he uses his palms to shoot concentrated bursts of air that hits an opponent from a distance in the same manner.

Water Form: Kaito transforms his body into a flowing form of water, allowing him to move more freely and dodge harmful attacks.
Enhanced: Water Shield: Kait surrounds himself in a flowing orb of water that can deflect attacks and heals him slightly.

Earth Launch: Kaito slams his foot onto the ground, creating a platform of stone that can launch either himself or an enemy into the air, straight up or at an angle.
Enhanced: Earth Spike: As above, only instead of a platform it is a sharp spire of stone that can harm an enemy. He can summon it beneath an enemy or nearby to throw them onto it.

Fireball: Kaito throws a simple fireball projectile.
Enhanced: Fire Spray: Kaito puts both of his hands together and sprays flames from his palms in a wide arc, dealing more damage.

Blow Away: Kaito manipulates the wind to push an enemy backwards.
Blow Towards: Kaito manipulates the wind to push an enemy towards him.
Enhanced: Blow Up: Kaito manipulates the wind to push an enemy straight up into the air.

Well I was that one original dude, so don't worry. Plus, they are just the word-by-word translations of the english names. If someone Japanese saw that, I would get hit on the head.

Anyways, how about

Earth trap: Kaito creates a shallow cavity in the ground, covered with a thin crust of earth. Whoever jumps or steps on it breaks it. Creating the effect of when you accidentally miss a step on the stairs.
Enhanced: Field Mine: same as above, except with his powers over air, Kaito creates a vacuum in the cavity, outright sucking in whomever steps on it.

Hm, I like this combination of two elements with his powers. I'll add that to the document.

Can we think of any others?

Like, say,

>Earth, Air
>Air, Water
>Water, Fire
>Fire, Earth

Or some other circular system.
>>
>>463468
Let's see:
>Air, Water
Axe Kick (Like Johhny does it in MK9). The first leg sends forward a wave of water, and the second follows it up with a wave of air, the two revolving around each other like a water-wind-wheel.

>Water, Fire
All I can think is steam. Maybe a quick veil of hot water boiling into steam, giving a short obscuring cover?

>Fire, Earth
Tick-tack-boom: A highly pressurized ball of fire in a ball of earth. It can either be thrown as a grenade, or can be cracked open to shoot out a shotgun-like blast of fire and ember

Working in the Staff of Raiden.

Lightning Blast: Kaito points the staff at his opponent and fires a single bolt of lightning that strikes quickly.
Enhanced: Lightning Barrage: As above, only Kaito fires several rapid bolts at his opponent.

Teleport: Kaito can use the staff to teleport by throwing it and reappearing where it lands to catch it.
Enhanced: Shocking Teleport: As above, but when he appears, he discharges a shockwave that can damage nearby opponents.

Call Lightning: Kaito raises the staff to the sky and calls a lightning bolt down upon his foe from above.
Enhanced: Call Storm: As above, only with more bolts and with a wider spread.

Taser Staff: Kaito empowers the staff with a current of electricity, making it deal more damage upon striking an opponent.
Enhanced: Lightning Rod: Kaito stabs his staff into the ground and calls forth a bolt of lightning to hit it. He can then leave it there and fight independently of it while compelling it to fire bolts of lightning before it loses energy and must be reclaimed.

And the new picture for Kaito has prompted me to design the logo for the quest, changing it from blue to red. I also changed up Ling's picture to better fit with the quality of the other images.
