Howdy. Lets start since it looks like our other regular said he would be traveling today.

Also, I got a new account in pokemon go, but im back to level 1.

Well, as anyone who has ever played a game without a system of savegames knows, i fucked up on several points on my first playthrough anyway, so I was thinking about restarting, to be honest. I guess im just uselessly pissed about them banning my old account before i could abandon it, or something useless like that.

If you guys are playing, I hope you will trade me something good when trade becomes possible.

*cough*

Aaaanyway, I was reading "Long Live Summons" and I liked the pet system on it. I realized the way plant monsters on it are nature's defense against invading demons may be good for us and the [ERROR]s, so do you want to have plant monsters turn into something of an alternative to dungeons? i was thinking in reforming the existence that dungeons are, once the incasion is dealt with.
>>
>>485817
Yeah, that would make sense. Plants are the overworld anti-demon immune system, and the dungeons themselves are the containment system for keeping ERRORs contained until they can be safely deleted.
>>
>>485817
So, what do you think? also, isnt that a nice pic for slightly grown up Mako?

>>Let's go catch an armored boar first

Alright, it's not that I've changed targets, but I am curious as to what manner of beast those armored boars are.

First thing that comes to mind is some sort of armordillo, you know? something like an hybrid between a facoquero and a rhynoceros, maybe?

So, we steer south and head towards the board's nest area.

As we do so, we can see many bright green and red, spiked tentacles (vines, probably) reaching up, trying to grab us.

Well, we're too far up for that, but I can see how this area would be terrifying for a tiny honey faery.

As we reach the boars' area, we find a herd (you call a group of boars a herd, or a pack?) of them drinking water by a river's shore.

They look a lot more like insects than mammals, you know? they don't have a hint of mammal in them, at least when seen from above.

Rather than a rhyno, they look more like one of those tiny insects you would find if you lifted a rock. One of those that when poked, curl into a ball.

Well, you'd may think that makes them the same as armordillos, but theirs is a lot more extreme a body shape. When looked at from above, they don't even expose their heads. Its almost impossible to tell the front from the back, except for the way they move. They don't have a tail, either.

As we descend, they finally notice us.

I guess they can't look up with all that armor on top, so that may be why they fall prey to the trolls. They are probably easy to catch by surprise if you attack them from above.

That doesn't means they're easy prey, anyway.

As soon as they notice our feet on the ground, the leader of their pack moves between us and the herd, then lifts its head(?) to show us its face and fangs.

Right, its definitively a boar.

I was thinking it would be some sort of insect... or maybe it would be better to call it a hybrid of sorts? like a platypuss has body parts that look borrowed from many creatures, I guess this thing is just like that?

Could be a mammal, could be an insect... if you judged a platypuss from its body, it would be a mammal, yet it also has poison like a reptile, and a beak like a duck's so...

As it growls at us, its teeth look more fit for crushing than tearing. As expected of a vegetarian, I guess? but it has four sharp looking fangs that make us think of an elephant's.

Well, elephants too, are vegetarians. I guess they're tusks, then.

Just looking at how its armor's edges drag and sink into the ground, I can get an idea of how they prey on the plants.

Its quite simple really. They probably just walk over to them and start eating them at the roots while the plants try their best against the shells on their back.

Would it be useful to add one to my menagerie?

Alright, so the plants are weaker at the roots.

That's... fairly useless? we aren't going to attack them from below, after all.

It does tell us that they are actually weaker at ground level, which may fit with the fact the flying honey faeries are terrified of them.

They did extend vines trying to reach for Squidward, after all. Perhaps flying is a bad idea.

But then...

>>>Land outside their area and move in through the jungle

As we move closer, we can see multi colored vines covered in thorns, cawl out towards us between the dry leaves and branches on the floor and treetops.

Honestly, its scary. Even if their individual levels doesn't breaks three digits, it feels as if we were walking into a huge monster's mouth.

Well, our old world's mentality is telling me "nope. Just nope." and to turn around and walk away, but from back when I stole Miel and her hive whole, I know these low leveled plants can't possibly harm me...

Still, scary is scary, you know?

Well, it looks as if they can't reach past a certain point, or rather, their growing speed, while fast enough that you can track it with your eyes, its not as fast as to suddenly wrap around us without giving us a chance to pull back, you know?

Now, we came to level up, so I guess I should just start with the ones closest to us and work our way south. That way we would reduce their living space at the same time, and make the jungle a little safer for the honey faeries.

But, wouldn't reducing their habitat change the jungle ecosystem too much?

>Let the leveling up festival begin

>>
>>486341
Lyra

also maybe we should hold back a bit I really don't want to case an environmental disaster
>>
>>486351
Ah thanks!

***

"Alright, Squidward can go in behind us. Krabby, you take care of shielding Aurora and Kiriani, alright?"

"Blg!"

That means he agrees, right? he made a big bubble... i guess he agrees

"Also, let's try and grab a little one for the garden."

"Master? why? Do we need such a thing?" - Lyra seems a bit confused

Well, if we could have the garden defend itself against intruders, I would feel a lot more at ease even if certain redhead keeps on with her practice of sleeping naked on top of the sheets, you know?

Ah, what I meant to say is, it would give me peace of mind if the garden repelled thieves on its own.

Plus, a plant's weak spot is that it can't move, right? but if you can summon and unsummon it as part of your menagerie, then it has no weak spots, right?

Well, you probably cant summon it in mid air or on top of too hard a floor, or its roots wont be able to dig unto the ground, but its undeniable that it will still be way more mobile than in the wild.

"Don't worry, alright?" - we pat pat Lyra's soft hair.

Ah! She smiled! it's nice to see she's getting used to our touch and skinship.

So, let's go ahead and begin the leveling up festical.

***

Scary!

True, none of the plants alone could possibly hurt squidward, but as soon as he came closer to the treetops, dozens of vines, each coming from a plant monster half his level or even lower, shot up and wrapped around him, dragging him down.

It's a good thing we can unsummon him.

Well, its true that as a menagerie monster, he wouldn't really die even if he got killed, but I don't want it to go through that experience.

Its a lot easier to fight the plants at ground level. They seem to be perfectly evolved for taking down flying targets.

Well, let's retreat for a bit and try again. This time we'll have squidward crawl on the ground, like an octopus on a beach rock would do.

***

Much better.

Yup, now that we are all going by land, the plants can't focus fire on us.

Fighting in the open is really different from dungeons, after all. To begin with, its more in line with what we would consider realistic, simply because you can fight in groups bigger than 6.

Uhmm...

Unrelated but got to be said news: Elections will finally arrive to Hong Kong! just as the glorious party had promised! people in Hong Kong will get to vote for their favorite candidate... among those approved by the glorious party!

Now you can choose your sock puppet! ain't that great!?

Alright, let's continue with the thread.

***

After fighting for quite a while, the succubuss' are close to level 100 in the slave class, and both Krabby and Squidward have finally reached a loyalty score of 95+.

Turns out, the plants are much more dangerous against flying intruders than against land bound ones... for the most part.

When we continue moving forth, we run into the exception, as spiked roots and thorn-covered vines pour endlessly from the ground, trying to wrap around and stop us.

Thankfully, due to the system combat runs on in this world, they are unable to hurt us, but we need to recall Aurora and Kirani, as they are not high leveled enough to ignore the attack the way we do.

Focusing on the roots and vines, we can see that they do not have a name tag on them, which means they are part of a single, larger body, rather than individuals.

Looking around, we find a name tag at last!

Thorny Queen Demoness lv 1

A small (as big as a watermalon) bloom that hasn't opened yet, appears to be the main body behind the literal sea of vines and roots attacking us.

Well, even if it is an advanced species, it's current level is 1, so there's no way it can resist our [Tame] skill, you know?

[Thorny Queen Demoness has been added to your Menagerie. Do you want to name it? Y/N]

The countless spiked roots and thorny vines dissapeared as if they had never been there. Even the holes in the ground have filled up.

I guess I'll try summoning it first...

A small child (4yrs) appears! her skin is a very delicate light pink, and her hair is a vibrant green and red.

She looks somewhat like an elf, but has four pointy ears rather than two, and they are actually petals, uh?

She has two short horns... no, I guess I should call them thorns, sticking out of between her soft looking hair.

They look cute and soft, actually.

Just so you know, I'm not into lolita, alright? lolita is a disease. If you enjoy lolita, please go see a doctor.

Her eyes are bright green... Come think about it, she looks as if she was made of petals curled and woven into the shape of a child.

"Ah!" -she calls out when she looks at us.

Can she talk? the [Menagerie] should teach her common, so at the very least, she should understand us.

The name of your new monster will be [Fleur], is this correct? [Y/N]

'Yes'

Right away, the label floating on top of the Thorny Queen Demoness changed to Fleur.

Ah, she's smiling.

She looks quite cute

Uhmm... she should be a high evolution of those Thorny Blooms that are all around, right? so she's at the very least, level 101, maybe 201 or 301, depending on how many evolutions she's actually gone through.

So, she's at least as strong as Krabby or Squidward. That's good, it means I don't need to worry about leveling her up as well, though I think I'll need to teach her common sense...

..so, sort of like the harpies, then?

Well, for now, let's try and get some clothes for her. I'm not the least bit moved by a little girl's naked figure, nor am I bothered by it, but I do think that since she has a humanoid form, she has to wear clothes, you know?

Ah, let's check her skills...

[Earth Magic] ..should I say, as expected? she's a plant, after all

[Ruler of the Thorny Garden] Can summon and control plant monsters of the Thorny Demoness species, as long as they are of a lower evolution than itself. Currently available - Bloom, Bud, Flower.

Ah, so then, she's a third evolution of the Thorny Bloom Demoness, right? then she's at least level 301, if we look at it from a linear point of view.

Because Thorny Bloom Demoness -> lv 100 -> Thorny Bud Demoness -> lv 100 -> Thorny Flower Demoness -> lv 100 -> Thorny Queen Demoness... right?

Wait, doesn't that makes her into the jungle's boss? or the region's boss, even!?

...this may actually affect the ecosystem... no, this will definitively affect it...

[Hellbane] - Immunity to [ERROR]s special ability, cancellation of [ERROR] special abilities, consumption of [ERROR]s is neccessary for continuous evolution.

Wait, what?

Uhmm... let's read that again...

'Isn't that nice?'

As if i'd say that!!! what's with this little girl, what has she been eating all this while, where is she getting [ERROR]s often enough to evolve this far from!?

Is there a portal nearby? a gate? is there a dungeon around?!

Wait... a few months ago, there was an [ERROR] attack just a few hundred kilometers away, right? that's when Portia's mom dissapeared, and the [ERROR]s stuck to the area rather than advancing north to Heven.

They ate the towns in the area, wiped out the succubus in the region, emptied the mining towns, and... turned south to attack a frontier fortress.

At the time, we thought they had just been lured by the largest, closest amount of humanoids, but are you telling me the jungle ate them, instead?

Truly, the 'Green Hell' of legend, uh?

Well, with that invasion taken care of, I guess these Thorny Demoness plants won't grow any more than this.

What do?

Ask Fleur if she can talk with the plants around us.
If there are more Thorny Demoness plants around.
We should make a note to have people come here to cultivate the plants and take them back to be backup anti-ERROR defenses around cities.

Ask Fleur what conditions her plant species needs in order to grow and flourish.

Then continue levelling our other pets.

For now, let's [Treestride] home and get Tazar to make some clothes for Fleur. Well, I guess we could give her some of Athena's clothes, but our family would look at us extra weird if we took our little sister's clothes and gave them to a pet.

Having clothes made just for pets is already extravagant, right?

Let's avoid that.

"Alright, let's come back later, then." -our pets agree (I think, since some cant talk), so we [Treestride] away

We appear in the comercial district back street, as usual, and head towards Tazar's shop.

Ah, for a change, he's manning the front himself, uh? it's a rarity.

"Oh, young master, how are you?"
"Quite well, thank you. Where's Kallista, your slave?"
"I sent her to the adventurer's guild to set up a request for materials. What can I help you with?"

We call forth Fleur, and explain to Tazar what we want.

"Oh, just as I was looking for inspiration, what good timing! of course, if you brought your fianceé, that too would be great."

He's probably talking about Lyann. I think

"For now, can you make something for her?"
"Certainly... I could reuse some schematics and just shrink them down, so I can be done in a few moments. If you want them to have magical properties, it will take a few hours, and if you want me to design something completely new, it will take about a week, I think."

"That reminds me, I have finished some more of those underwear you asked me for."
"As expected of the best tailor in the region! no, the continent!"
"Ah, it's not even work when you are having this much fun."

Thus, we collect several sets of fine lingerie for our lovely girls.

Also, there's a few long silk chemise for Zoe. Why? because I think she needs something other than shirts to sleep in.

Of course, they're very simple. Long and soft silk shirts that should reach to about ...her knees, I think?

Our kitty (she's a lion, though) little sister will look lovely, im sure!

As for Fleur. she is wearing a frilly bell-style dress. It is light pink, and very simple, with sphaguetti straps.

Why? because it's the first time she wears clothes, so I wanted to keep it simple.

"You have some very interesting pets, young master, so how come you picked up a plant-type?"
"What's wrong with plant-types?"
"Well, they're usually considered as the weakest type, you know? They're extremely weak against cold and electricity, and I undrstand that they're nearly impossible to level up."
"Is that so?"
"Yes, I don't know how you got such a high level species, but I wouldn't expect her to grow any stronger if I were you."
"I see... thanks."

Well, that's because they level up by eating [ERROR]s, and those don't show up except once every 10,000 years, you know? so it can't be helped if plant types are normally the weakest.

When it comes to [ERROR]s though, they should actually be the strongest.

Come think about it, I have seen plenty of high level plant-types inside dungeons. Since dungeons are basically traps against [ERROR]s akin to a vacuum cleaner or black hole sucking them all in, I guess that's natural?

So, the high level plant-type monsters are normally only spawned inside dungeons... I guess its fortunate that they haven't gone extinct.

Well, it is quite late, so late that it is early.

Thankfully, it is not a school day, but... ah, we still have to 'take care' of another shadow, uh?

Uhhh... I haven't slept for two nights straight... I can do this, right?

I am not sure about Ren's pregnancy, though. I guess triplets or more to help secure the dynasty?

What do you think of that?
