> PASTEBINS UPDATED (slightly)

The morning trip on the trucks as you make your way to the ferry transporting you to the match locale is a very surprising one. Sure, there was a relatively uneventful plane ride and then there was the sleepy camp out in the tents. But this was unprecedented.

You arrived at the spectator fairgrounds where thousands of people have gathered around to come and watch what was essentially a spat between two sisters. Not just the people of Norfolk, but people from all over the Virginia area. And not just schools nearby like Robert A. Heinlein, but people from across the world. “Elodie!” The truck stops and you see the familiar face of Meryl Hoffmeister from Camp Gagetown. She shakes your hand. “Good luck against Gertrude!”

“Yes!” says Carolina Greene as she shakes your hand as well. “We're looking forward to your little match, yeah?”

Wow, they came all this way to see you?

Your trucks stop up in the parking lot, and you're immediately swamped by fans who want pictures or autographs. Hall Monitors are busy pushing people away so you can have a bit of space to yourselves. While Winona and Stack seem to revel in the attention, posing for photos are giving off autographs, Ingrid and Josephina like you are just trying to make sure you get to your destination as soon as possible.

You stand atop a little stage, where people have gathered around. Here the Judges will introduce the opposing commanders and wish everyone good luck in the match. Gertrude and Griselda stand next to each other while you and Iris fall in line behind her. Gertrude and Griselda wave at the crowd, smiling. “You see Daddy anywhere?” asks Gertrude.

“No, but he said he'd be watching,” says Griselda quietly. The two of them are obviously trying not to look like they're keeping secrets. “Just for today, let's try and be good sisters.”

“Agreed,” Gertrude hisses quietly. “If he knew, he'd freak.”

“And there goes the neighborhood.”

Gertrude looks over at you and Iris, smiling. “Well! Are you two ready for the match today? I've seen what you two can do, it's making me shake in my boots!”

You smile at Gertrude and at Griselda as well. “I am ready. I'm very much looking forward to a -friendly- exhibition match between our two teams.” Gertrude and Griselda glance at each other, then nod slowly.

Iris as well nods. “Best of luck to the both of us then. May the best girl win.”

“Thank you, Iris,” say the two sisters. They give each other a mean glare, then go back to smiling for everybody.

The Judges step forward. “Welcome to the Exhibition Match between Gertrude Pool of the International Tankery League!” A loud applause erupts in the crowd for Gertrude, who happily waves at everybody. “And Griselda Pool of the North Atlantic Tankery Organization!” A smaller but just as loud applause is heard for Griselda as well, mostly from the teams that Griselda has fought and your crews. “We are today's judges! Hibiki Inatomi!”

“Remi Takashima!”

“Kanon Sasagawa! Representing the International Tankery League!”

Three more Judges step forth. “Representing the North Atlantic Tankery Organization! Jill Joyce!”

“Beatrice Klem!”

“Rana Luciano!”

The three Judges bow to each other. “The match will begin in four hours! Let this be an honorable matchup!”

You and Iris walk with Gertrude and Griselda Pool. “You know, Griselda. I will say, it's nice that we get to do things as sisters again. It's been a while,” says Gertrude as she munches on some cotton candy.

Griselda grunts. “I guess it has.” You and Iris sort of awkwardly remain quiet as you walk behind them. “Considering the whole thing about last year's tournament.”

“I think I've already told you many times, you should try and let that go, Griselda. It wasn't my fault. How am I supposed to know that my little sister who lives and breathes tanks turns out to not be a great officer the minute I put her in a commander's chair.” Griselda rolls her eyes. “Don't give me that.”

“I know it's not your fault,” says Griselda. Oh jeez. “You're always such a good judge of character anyway. It's how you built up your team. Maybe that's the one good thing I inherited from you.”

“Are you trying to start something?” Gertrude points at Griselda and jabs her in the hip, making her flinch. “Because I will finish it.”

Griselda glares at Gertrude. “Then maybe you...” The two of them look forward. “Daddy!” They both drop what they're doing and rush on over to their father, a very handsome looking man.

“Girls!” He quickly picks them up in a hug, happily. He then drops down to a kneel. “Oh, oh, jeez! Hold on! You two have gotten heavy!” He wheezes a bit, coughing loudly. “Oooh!”

“Are you okay, Daddy?” asks Gertrude.

“I'm fine!” He says, waving it off. “It's nothing! Honest!” He clears his throat. “Who are your friends?”

> Let the Pool sisters introduce you

Griselda is the one to introduce you. “Daddy. These are my Officers and my good friends. Elodie R. Zumwalt, and Iris Blackbourne.” The two of you shake hands with Mister Pool, and find his grip to be very firm and yet very comfortable. They say a handshake says a lot about a man.

Gertrude smiles. “Elodie and Iris happen to be Griselda's little All-Stars. Elodie hasn't gotten too many votes yet, but Iris is basically leading the WL in Kill count.”

“Ain't that nice!” Mister Pool folds his arms, smiling down at you two. “Well, a friend of my daughters is a friend of mine. And to think of you as Officers, my girls are putting a healthy amount of trust in you two.”

Iris raises a hand. “You wouldn't happen to be the US Diplomat to China would you?”

“Oooohhh... maybe,” he says quietly, rubbing his hand against his arm.

“Daddy, I've been meaning to ask. Shouldn't you be in China at right now?” asks Gertrude. “Won't they miss you?”

“Ah, the world can wait for my daughters. When else am I going to see them spar?” He places a hand on both their shoulders. “Remember girls, this is a sport, not war. I won't think any less of the one who loses or any more of the one who wins. Have some fun, alright?” The two glance at each other nervously, then nod and smile at their father. “Great!”

“You want us to help you find your seats?” asks Griselda. “We reserved a private booth for you and your staff.”

“Sure! Sure!” Gertrude and Griselda take each one of Mister Pool's hands, smiling. “You two coming along?”

> “Sure.”

You nod. “Sure.” You get walking with Mister Pool and his daughters to the stands, passing by several booths for amusement like air gun ranges, ball tossing, and taking pictures with tanks and other military vehicles like the M8 Greyhound and its brother the M20 Utility Car.

“So tell me about yourselves,” asks Mister Pool. “How'd you two come to be in my little girl's team?”

“She recruited us,” says Iris. “About a week before the first match mind you.”

“Ha! I see! Must've been a rush. What are you, the Etiquette Club leader?” Iris nods. “Ah! Very nice! You could probably teach Gertrude and Griselda a thing or two maybe.”

“I've already done so to Griselda.” Griselda shudders at Iris saying that. “But Gertrude is always free to visit.” Gertrude shudders a bit as well.

“Still, you're one of the top players too, lotta kills?” Iris nods. “And you, Elodie. What would you say about the team, is it being good to you?”

“Very,” you say. “Griselda's a great commander.”

“I see!” Mister Pool smiles at his daughters, who both smile back at them before returning to a bit of doom and gloom staring at each other when he's not looking at them. “Well, my daughters live and breathe the tank lifestyle so it's to be expected. They take after their mother, bless her soul.”

You arrive at the stands, where a few hundred people have already gathered to sit down and save the good spots for the viewing screens. Several private booths are set up besides the main bleachers for the high paying VIPs, one of them being Mister Pool himself. “Ooooh!” Mister Pool's eyes widen at the inside of the luxurious booth, soft carpeting, comfortable chairs, free catering, and a private screen to watch the match. Some of Mister Pool's staff have already come as well, happily digging into the meals. “This is nice!”

“Ellie!” OH FUCK, YOUR PARENTS. You turn around. Mom and Dad come over, smiling at you, accompanied by your crew as well. Mister Pool turns around as well. NO NO NOT IN FRONT OF GRISELDA'S DAD! PLEASE NO! Dad immediately picks you up in a hug. “Ah! We made it!” He puts you down. Ah, by now you're stiff as a board.

“Who are you?” asks Mister Pool.

“We're Elodie's parents!” says Dad. “Came down from New Jersey to watch her play!”

“Really? Where are you sitting?” asks Mister Pool.

“Up in the stands, cheapest seats we could afford,” says Mom. “We try to save money where we can.”

Mister Pool thinks on it for a second, then says, “Tell you what. I got room in my booth. You can watch the match with me.”

“OH! You don't have to!” you say, as does Mom and Dad. “We're perfectly fine!” you say in sync.

“Nonsense!” Mister Pool wraps his arm around Dad, smiling. “Any parent of a friend of my daughters must be a good one!”

Dad smirks, looking at Mom. “You hear that? He thinks I'm a good Dad!” Mom rolls her eyes.

“Well, we should go and brief our teams,” says Griselda. “Will you be fine, Dad?”

“We'll be alright, sweetums!” Mister Pool pats Griselda on the head, smiling. “You go prepare yourselves, we look forward to the match.”

“Good luck, Ellie!” Mom pecks you on the cheek, smiling. “Knock Gertrude dead!” Gertrude clears her throat, to which Mom says. “Kick her ass!” You roll your eyes.

-

-

“What's this?” Winona asks Serafina. She points to a horse shoe hanging from the side of the Pershing's turret.

Serafina says, “It's a good luck charm!”

“I thought the Marquis de La Fayette was your good luck charm,” says Winona.

“He's one of them!” Serafina pats her chest, huffing. “But one cannot have too much good luck! And even if it does not represent good luck, that horse shoe is symbolic of the legendary Polish Winged Hussars, who were basically the Rohirrim before the Rohirrim were even a thing!” She pats the side of the Pershing's turret, grinning, and sees you and Iris walking up to the Pershing. “What do you think, Elodie?”

“I don't really believe in luck,” you say. “But whatever floats your boat.” Serafina looks at the horse shoe, then shrugs, deciding to go with the second explanation it seems.

Iris sips a bit of tea. “I do say, I am quite nervous.” Iris, nervous? Oh shit. “I just hope this match goes without a fuss. Would you not agree?”

You nod. “I would. It does feel uncomfortable doing this, but hopefully we can make this all worthwhile.”

“I hope so too,” says Iris. “For goodness' sake, we'll have some fun even if it kills us.” She offers her hand to you. “Good luck to you, Elodie.”

“And to you too, Iris,” you say back. You shake her hand.

With your tanks loaded onto the ferries, you make your way down to the match locale.

-

-

“Alright, everyone know the plan?” yells Griselda, addressing not just the entire team but also the foreign crews who have enlisted to participate. You all shout yes to her, clearly and loudly. “Great! Listen up, we're going to beat my sister, and we're going to send her back to LGA with her tail between her legs, and we're gonna show her that our NATO team can stand with the best of them! You've all come a long way since our first match! For those of you who've stuck with me since the start, thank you! For those of you just joining, welcome and be thankful this is your first match with us! You'll get to learn how to do Tankery first hand! The most important thing though: have fun and be a team! Dismissed!”

You, Griselda, and Iris start walking to the center line with the Judges from NATO. On the other end are the Judges from the ITL, and Gertrude herself along with her two Officers, Cathy McDowell and Charlotte Luciano.

You take a very deep breath. This is it.

You all meet in the center, looking one another in the eye. Across from you is the Junior Cathy McDowell. “Shake hands!” say the Judges. You offer your hand to Cathy.

“Good luck!” says Cathy.

I have to leave for work soon so here was my plan from yesterday with minor modification.

Move forward along the blue first to contact with enemy then fall back along the brown conducting a fighting retreat. Rosehip and other fast tanks wait in the forest near our start then either hit the enemy in the rear or charge for the enemy base to find their artillery depending on what Trude's exact setup is.

And the other potential plan, also with a minor alteration, namely an alternate route for Hammer and Envelopment platoons that bypasses the worst marsh but risks being spotted en route slightly more.

In addition, the ORBAT:
> COMMAND/HAMMER PLATOON: GrisGris commanding
> M4A3E8 Sherman: Griselda
> Panzer IV H: Benny
> IS-2m: Regina
> Panzer III J: Suvorov

> ANVIL PLATOON: Iris commanding
> Churchill IV: Iris
> Churchill VII: Orange Pekoe
> Tiger II (P): Serina
> Matilda II: Rukuriri

> ENVELOPMENT/HARRASMENT PLATOON: Elodie commanding
> Cromwell III: Elodie
> M18 Hellcat: Dalia
> Crusader III: Rosehip

> AREA DENIAL PLATOON: Rozaliya commanding
> SU-76M (Columbina): Rozaliya
> ISU-152: Nguyen
> Jagdtiger: Jane
> M26 Pershing: Serafina

Maybe we should just give both ideas to Gris and let her choose (or I suppose at this point we'd have already done that IC).

> CUPID: Cupid (or Patches as formerly known) is a severely long-lived tank, and one that has experienced World War II from both sides, being knocked out and recaptured numerous times by both sides. It appears that Cupid is something of a survivalist, and has been able to survive one shot that would have instantly killed it regardless.

> COLUMBINA: Columbina is one of the original SU-76M tanks that hasn't been converted to SU-76B standard for Tankery, and has rewarded its user with its amazing agility and speed, not to mention its surprising mobility on wet and difficult terrain even compared to other tanks of its class.

> KINGFORCE: This tank is not actually known as Kingforce, but was one of the Churchill IV tanks (converted to VII standard post war for Tankery) that participated in North Africa. This tank is notable for being THE tank which first knocked out a Tiger I tank. After being lost in political red tape through the years, St. Gloriana found it and refurbished it. There, they found that the gunsights are amazingly well-preserved, giving Kingforce amazing accuracy above all other tanks.

> Move to the left flank

You decide to take up the left flank with Rosehip and with Dalia. “Woooo!” Dalia speeds up past you. Apparently in the past few days, they've paid to have their engine improved and the suspension improved as well. As a result their Hellcat is quite fast.

“Dalia, come back,” you state.

Rosehip speeds on past as well. “Hahahaha!”

“Rosehip, come back,” you state.

Stack looks over. “You're going to be saying that a lot, I can tell.” Please.

“We got dust in the distance,” says Serafina. “It appears they're making move down the center.” You pull up your binoculars, and indeed you do see a load of dust in the center. Hm, you've seen Gertrude's plays in the field before. It's not like her to make an amateur mistake like pushing the tank such that it generates huge clouds of dust. She's probably already up to something.

“Alright, get ready to set up positions at Machipongo those on the right.”

You check the composition again. You are on the far left, with in this order Griselda on your right (Panzer IV, IS-2m, and Panzer III), then Iris (Churchill VII, Tiger II, Matilda II), then Rozaliya in Machipongo itself (ISU-152, Jagdtiger, M26 Pershing)

As you approach the thick woods ahead, you decide to...

Let Gris know we suspect a trap if Trude's generating that much dust. It's likely a diversion from her main thrust, which will come either through Johnsontown or down Road 600. Make sure to sight at least one of the heavy guns near Machipongo East towards Road 600. Gris should push her tanks up into the woods just West of Road 618, while Anvil moves up 618 and we set up an ambush on her left flank in case a flanking manoeuvre is attempted.

As you start pulling leaves and sticks into your camo netting, you see Rosehip scanning the horizon through the trees. Can she even see anything through the foliage? You drop off your tank and hurry on over. “Rosehip, what do you see?”

She helps you up, then points northwards in the direction of Johnsontown. “Tanks. I saw an M8A1 with a medium barrel 75 up there, along with a Chaffee.” Really? You pull up your binoculars as well, squinting through the lens. Most you get is a blurry picture through leaves and sticks, but yes, you do see some smoke and stuff and that's really about it.

“Are you sure?” you ask.

“Positive,” she says, suddenly very serious and mature. “I believe they've sent probably the Comet as well to back them up, it's one of the few tanks they have that can keep up with their lights, and it synergizes well as something to rally around during a protracted engagement.” Um. Huh. Okay, no, that makes sense.

“Did you get that, Griselda?” you ask over the radio.

“I did,” she says. “Rozaliya sees more tanks coming down too, it's the Churchill with the Jumbo Pershing leading in front, along with the Jackson, Tiger II, a StuG III, and a Sturmpanzer.”

Hm.

That just leaves Gertrude, the Panthers, the KV-85, and the Firefly.

If your intuition is correct, they're looking for a way to flank around, probably on the right.

Use the Area denial of our big gins to bombard the right flank.
>>
>>558561
> Assault the town North
Anvil takes the lead, Hammer and Envelopment on the left flank to surround. We have the numbers advantage over here for now, three tanks against 11 of ours. We smash them here, then Pivot East, turning their flank into a frontal assault. Tell Roza to pivot the Pershing and herself to the East, while the JT and ISU cover the approach down Road 13.
>>
>>558584
But wouldn't attacking the town be risky and we will be at a disadvantage?
>>
>>558561
>Stay in ambush position.
>>
>>558584
It's also worth noting that if either Nguyen or Jane can land their first shots on the Churchill or even the T26E5, they will most of the time, kill that tank. The JT will kill the Churchill at basically any range, and the Jumbo Pershing through the upper plate at 100m or less, and the turret at sub 500m, while the ISU-152 will kill anything it hits basically because its gun is pure horror.

“Griselda, we're going to hit the north edge and try and drive away Gertrude's lights.”

“Alright, Iris, move up until I say to stop, we'll be behind you. Rozaliya-” You hear some loud bangs in the distance. The battle's started.

“We have been flanked! It is Gertrude's tanks on the right side!” says Nguyen. “Her shots are going wide though!”

“Hold position!” says Griselda. “She's not in good range yet!” You do note that Gertrude's group probably has the Firefly, along with a pair of Panthers. That'll be swell. “Fogerty! Nguyen, go after the group going down the center road first!”

You hear one loud snapping noise. Must be the 128mm. “We missed!” yells Fogerty.

“We won't,” says Nguyen. Another snap.

> KILL CREDITED TO: KIM-LY NGUYEN (ISU-152 “Hanoi”)

“Good shot!” says Rozaliya.

“When's our turn!?” yells Serafina.

You and your tanks speed through the clearing quickly to close the distance. Suddenly, you flinch, a shot speeds right past you. That was definitely the 77mm trying to be cheeky. Other shots go wide or splat into the ground. You can't see them through the trees though.

“CHARGE, THUNDER CHILD!” yells Rosehip. Her Crusader suddenly rushes past you, the engine screaming and dirt getting blown back. You and Dalia glance at each other from your hatches, surprised.

Put the Willy Pete round into the tree line then pop smoke ahead of us. Split our platoon while we're obscured, Rosehip up the centre, Dalia left and us right. Ask Gris to move up in support of us, or give us Anvil and shift her own tanks East to reinforce Roza. We need to smash through this position quickly, before they can bring effective fire onto us or counterattack elsewhere.

APCR isn't really necessary yet. It might be useful when one of them is attempting to flee thanks to its flat arc and high velocity at short ranges, but for engaging tanks this lightly armoured in stationary positions it's pointless, in fact APCBC is actually arguably superior due to normalisation caused by the soft cap making the shot less likely to ricochet at extreme impact angles.

Also, Light Music Club facing off with the Bluegrass girls currently. Now that's what I call a battle of the bands. Walli's got this in the bag, girl's so swole they only need one loader for two piece 12.8cm rounds.

Shame the Poles and Little Poles are on the wrong sides of the map, would've liked to see them go at it, maybe even have Serafina show up her seniors.

Assuming we don't hit the mantlet, or a heavily sloped part yes. Unless they have applique armour, but for the most part yeah, at point blank range the 6 pounder APCBC rounds will do about 95-100mm on flat armour.
>>

The Comet isn't Elited, so I'm not sure. And eh, I suppose it's not so bad, but I'm not sure how many shells we can get loaded and fired while careening around like this, and I'd rather prioritise the WP round. A 6 pounder in the Cromwell could probably get a round off every 4-5 seconds assuming it was being loaded from the turret's ready racks while stationary, basically the same while traversing the turret because it has a partial turret basket but while also speeding around 60kph I think we'd be lucky to get a second loaded in 10 seconds, even with a loader as skilled as Stack.

“Put some Willy Pete up their asses!” Stack loads in a WP shell, and Winona follows up with a shot into the tree line. The white sparkling smoke starts spreading, lighting up the trees and obscuring them, and you by extension. A smoke bomb gets popped in front of you, further obscuring you before your charge. “Here we go!”

You bust through the tree line, pulling your goggles over your eyes to protect from the smoke. Rosehip speeds past, firing blindly into the smoke as well, crushing branches and saplings under her treads. On the far left is Dalia, also firing as well, trying to find a target. “Where are they!?” yells Dalia.

You blink, looking around. Damn it, where are they!? “Griselda.”

“Yeah?”

“We need more support up here. I think they're trying to squeeze us out, we might break through here!”

“Got it! Iris is going up to you, we'll shore up Rozaliya's team!”

Rosehip suddenly comes reversing out of the smoke. “LOOK OUT!” she yells. The fuck? You look to her as she retreats, then look to the front, speeding towards you is now a Comet tank.

Oh shit. “BACK UP!” The tank reverses, dodging a 77mm shell aimed right at you. Suddenly, you stop. “Why are we stopped!?”

“We're stuck on something!” yells Josephina. You look back to see the treads tangled up in a fallen tree and some roots. Fuck! The Comet turns it turret on you.

“NOT SO FAST!” yells Dalia as she fires on the Comet. The shot flies under the turret ring, popping the hatch and sending sparks shooting out of hatch like an ammo cook out. “HAHA!”

Guys we were warned by intuition that a straight flank wouldn't work. See:
> “Wait!” Something's telling you something about this. “Griselda, if you go and assist, she'll win out with her skill and numbers! Let us go back and help!”
Either we send back some help or go ourselves and let someone else do the flank, or we pull Griselda away from contact.
>>
>>559144
I will back this option.
>>
>>559210
I know, I doubt Gris-Gris will back off. She's rolling into a shitstorm, we're rolling to get her out.
>>
>>559092
>>559144
Supporting this
>>
>>559229
The problem with a wide flank is if she doesn't pull back, by the time we get around she'll have taken heavy losses in all likelyhood, or even in a worst case scenario, gotten sniped. And that would be the end of the match, and she'd go through the same feelings as when she dropped the Kursk match as flag tank, not a good result. We have to convince she's got to play this smart, Roza and the rest of her platoon were always expendable in this strategy, they just have to sell their tanks dearly enough that the rest of us can pull out a win.
>>
>>559259

Huh.

Well fuck you google maps, it would've been nice to see that at any given point.
>>
>>559210
Ahab has met her white whale, so to speak, so I doubt Griselda is willing to retreat. The same with Gertrude, for that matter. Both flag tanks are willingly operating on the front. If we can put pressure on the flank, we'll either compromise Gertrude's position and force her to fall back and relieve pressure on Griselda and her group, or we'll be able to strike at the sides and rear of Gertrude's heavies while they're occupied with the heavy platoon.
>>
>>559310
Possibly, but I'd rather try. I'm still advocating a flank in >>559144 but I just don't want to do it without trying to shore up our position. We can appeal to Griselda's sense of responsibility. She owes it to the team, her team not to rush into something now.

“Got it,” says Iris.

“It appears our Russian friend is going on a tear,” says Orange Pekoe.

“I'm jealous!” yells Rosehip.

“So am I!” yells Serafina. You hear a loud ding over her radio. “Ow! Someone shot us! Fucker!”

As you comb the hills for the Poles who seem to have mysteriously vanished, Iris contacts you. “I'm looking at the battle now. It appears Gertrude is locked in combat, she doesn't seem interested in maintaining her flank anymore.”

“Damn,” you say. You were hoping she'd lighten off if her flank was threatened, even caved in. Your intuition is telling you that Gertrude is now completely all in on this attack, and she's probably hoping individual skill will carry her over weight of numbers.

“We'll move in,” says Iris.

The Poles will have to wait, either Iris or whoever else finds them can deal with them. Flank speed straight East to the treeline next to 625, close to within 500m of the enemy advance. Leave Iris behind to pursue a more conventional flank, but once we get into that position stop and just start pouring fire into the sides of the ITL team. Put an APDS round into the biggest tank we can see first, we'll draw attention and fire away from our holding platoons.

I think we require their loyalty first. I think? Regardless, even without lockdown by the next post we should be able to get off two or three well aimed shots from a stationary position. One of the benefits of the Cromwells smaller gun boxy turret is that the interior's actually pretty comfy for its size, and there's room for a loader's arms to move. It's one of the downsides to the Comet actually, the rounded turret and much larger 77mm breach make the loader's position a bit of a tight fit.

You explain the plan to the team around you, and they quickly agree to it. See, you're not just going to rush in. You're going to go in and help but in a very deliberate and cautious manner. Iris will flank directly south, while you are now heading flank speed with Rosehip to pursue the treeline and attack from a distance.

“Got it!” The turret traverses around, and finds a juicy target.

However, it's friends the Panther and the Firefly immediately turn their sights on you. They turn around on the spot.

“Now, get the Firefly!” You fire the next shot, a standard APCBC round, but it plinks off the turret side and it goes retreating away to the safety of a formation of a T-34/57, a Sturmpanzer, and an M36 Jackson.

Meanwhile though, you see Griselda and Gertrude's tanks are now fully engaged. Shit! They charge at each other to point blank range and fire, their shots scraping their sides. They're jousting at this point, damn!

And if Gertrude has closed in, she must think she can win this!

> Attack the group of tanks covering Gertrude

“Rozaliya, save Gertrude!” You and Rosehip charge at Gertrude's remaining tanks as they start to form a loose circle formation.

Rozaliya rushes into the fray, trying to separate the two as they ram and bash their gun barrels against each other trying to get a good shot in. Even with Gertrude's tanks having clear shots on Griselda, no one dares to kill steal Gertrude in this situation. And Rozaliya appears to have made the mistake of her life as Gertrude rams the SU-76 in its side and smashes it against Griselda's hull. Griselda reverses away to try and help it, but it's too late.

> KO: ROZALIYA ULANOVA (SU-76M “Columbina”)
> KILL CREDITED TO: GERTRUDE POOL (M4A1E8 Sherman “Cupid”)

Griselda fires a shot, which bounces straight off the turret of Gertrude, and they immediately go back to wrestling their tanks against each other.

Meanwhile...

You blow past the Firefly and end up surprising the tanks in their circle. Coming in to support is Iris herself. She fires a shot, nailing her counterpart straight in the engine block.

> KO: CATHY MCDOWELL (Churchill IX LT “Earl”)
> KILL CREDITED TO: IRIS BLACKBOURNE (Churchill IV “James”)

Orange Pekoe as well fires a shot, planted directed into the Firefly's turret ring.

> KO: MICHELLE FRANCOIS (Sherman VC Firefly “Harry”)
> KILL CREDITED TO: ORANGE PEKOE (Churchill VII “Kingforce”)

As your tanks start duking and brawling out with the remainder of Gertrude's forces, you take another look back at the sister's battle. Suddenly, you see Serafina, who had been hiding away in the corpses of her team. “Hold on, Griselda, I'll save you!” yells Serafina. She trains her gun barrel on Gertrude and fires.

But suddenly, the Senior Poles explode out of nowhere from some nearby bushes. Their Scott rushes in and tanks the shot, spinning out and landing on their side.

> KO: JANET “JANEK” KOS (M8A1 Scott “Szarik”)
> KILL CREDITED TO: SERAFINA MACZEK (M26 Pershing “Sokol”)

“Nooooooo!” yells Serafina. “Not my seniors-” The Jackson plants a shot into their mantlet.

> KO: SERAFINA MACZEK (M26 Pershing “Sokol”)
> KILL CREDITED TO: SARAH DEFOREST (M36B1 Jackson “Walt”)

“Griselda!” you yell. The two sisters gun barrels bash and whip at each other, trying to get a lock on the other tank. “Pull back, we can help you-”

Suddenly, the two are engulfed in smoke. Someone shot the other.

As the sun starts to set on the day, Gertrude and Griselda shake hands, glaring each other down in what is quite possibly the most icy post-match meeting that ever occurred. “Good match,” says Gertrude.

“Likewise,” Griselda says very coolly. Suddenly, their Dad comes through the crowd, and the two immediately adopt smiles for him.

“Hey, girls!” says Mister Pool. “That was a great match! You two put on quite the show!” The two of them nod, glancing at each other before nodding along with their Dad. “Got really vicious at the end there though. I've never seen tankers fight like that.”

“Well, I was inspired by Anzio, they sometimes do that,” says Gertrude.

“Yeah, Ooarai has a StuG, does that too sometimes,” says Griselda.

Mister Pool smiles. “Well, you two were great regardless. I'll see you two tomorrow at the fair on LGA, alright?”

“Alright!” they both say. And with that, Mister Pool wishes you all good luck and leaves.

Gertrude squints at Griselda. “Well.”

“Well.” Griselda motions for Gertrude to leave. “You should be going, Gertrude.”

“Right.” Gertrude shoves her hands in her pockets, then looks at you, Iris, a very confused Rosehip, and concerned looking Orange Pekoe and Rozaliya. “Everybody. It was good to see you. Orange Pekoe, you especially. We'll see each other tomorrow.” With that, Gertrude turns around and leaves. The rest of the ITL team doesn't seem to want to leave, the Poles especially want to talk with each other, but no one seems to dare go against Gertrude right now, not Kitten, not Gertrude's crew, nobody. So they leave.

Griselda places her hands on her hips, watching Gertrude leave. Iris steps up to her. “Are you okay?”

“Peachy,” Griselda says quickly. “I'm sorry, I guess I got too eager. That was my fault.”

“There'll be next time!” says Suvorov. “We'll get her then!” A few heads nod and others agree at the prospect of a rematch.

Griselda huffs. “Let's get out of here.” You all start walking back to the ferries to take you back to LGA.

Stack tugs your arm, whispering in your ear. “I'm worried. Maybe you should talk to her.”

Sorry, I phrased that poorly. My point was that Griselda should have been knocked out before the duel even took place if she'd been up against a more serious team that wasn't holding back. Even if she had won the duel, it wouldn't have been a proper victory since half of Gertrude's team was basically letting it happen.

This should have been obvious. No not even in retrospect, the number of arguments the two have had should have demonstrated this.

I sure as hell wouldn't start telling her she fucked up either. You think she doesn't know?
>>
>>560040
We should probably pull up the advice we were given to her. About how Tankery is suplosed to be fun as opposed to be about the victory. I can't recall the exact quote, but that is the gist of it.
>>
>>560054
I expect that she knows but I'm not sure that she really understands, if that makes sense. She might know on an intellectual level that she made a mistake, but I want to drill it into her skull that this was not acceptable behavior and she needs to get over herself if she wants the team to get anywhere.
>>
> “I'll talk to her tonight in her tent.”

-

-

You arrive at Griselda's tent. With Oleg taking in all the repairs for tonight, Griselda's tent was bereft of Janus the E8. You poked your head in and saw Griselda sitting at her desk, typing up the reports for repairs on her tanks alone, her face warmly lit by the lamplight she works with. “Griselda.” She looks over, leaning back in her seat. “Can we talk?”

She considers it for a few seconds, looking at the ground, then nods. “Sure.” You step in, then take a seat on her cot, letting sit right where she is. “What's there to talk about.”

“The match.” You lean in a little. “You know, that was a won game. We had them on the ropes. Gertrude was throwing herself at us, we caught her in a corner. And if you had just stayed back, we could've won it. Hell, they weren't even shooting at you when they had clear shots. So why did that happen?” you ask.

This was something that Mom always did to you when you did something wrong. “Why did you let it happen?” she would ask. You hated it. But it was the way she taught you to recognize when you did something wrong. And for now, it would be how you'd get Griselda to recognize what she did wrong.

Griselda is silent for a few seconds, definitely chewing on her cheeks a bit. “It happened because I wanted to win.”

“I just told you, we could've won easily, so there's more than that,” you say.

“There's nothing more than that,” Griselda says, obvious letting on that there's more than that.

“Griselda. You just embarrassed not just yourself, but our team too, and the entirety of NATO as well. St. Gloriana put their stake in this, Kursk as well, even Zhou Enlai probably would've if we let them. You just wasted their time.” You stand up, addressing her like your mom would you. “What do you have to say for yourself?”

She glares at the ground, sighing. “Nothing. It's another day tomorrow, we'll move on and deal with it. I have to get things ready for the match with Kursk anyway,” she says as she goes back to her typewriter. “Good night, Elodie,” she says, clearly wanting to be done with conversation.

> “Well, good night then.”

>>
>>560054
Yes we should. Not calling her on it will make her repeat the mistakes.

Also again after the Polish team incident and after we told her 3 to 4 times about this. She fucked up the plan, when we had the advantage
>>
>>560054
Agreed. We should be stern, but supportive. As we were with the Poles. They came out better for it. I think Gris-Gris can.

Stern talking to, finish with letting her know we're still her friend and there for her, we wouldn't be doing this if we didn't care.
>>
>>560066
That's a surefire way to get her to explode.

What are you going to tell her? Stop being angry at her sister? She hasn't caused problems in any other match but this one. Which we suggested in the first place. And she was against.
>>
>>560069
>Give Griselda a stern talking to.
Sorry Griselda, but that's not good enough. You can do better than this, I know that and you know that, but it won't happen unless you actually talk about your issues. Don't just let them build up inside you or we're going to have a lot more days like today in our future.

For now that's true, but I for one expect it to get worse as the seething resentment builds up inside her. My biggest concern is that if we don't get this all out in the open, then something like this will happen again when there's more than just pride at stake.
>>

If we need to, offer to resign our post as a platoon officer, given that our commander doesn't listen to her subordinates.
>>
>>560069
> Give Griselda a stern talking to.
> Comfort Griselda.
Make sure she knows that it's thanks to her stubborn pride that she was able to narrowly grasp defeat from the jaws of victory.
Afterwards make absolutely certain that she knows the team is still behind her 100%.
>>
>>560069
>>560103
Supporting this. Offer to resign. It's one thing if the Poles do it but she is our commanding officer
>>
>>560103
Just beware, that might broke her even further.
>>
>>560130
Especially with the whole Tessa and Athena thing.
>>
>>560130
Then she shouldn't be commanding this team. She made several poor decisions and we tolerated too much.

Now she is avoiding the subject. Comforting her will be when she understands her fuck up
>>
>>560103
>>560126
100% against this. She does not nees a brutal reminder of the two teammates that left her. Jesus...
>>
>>560103
No no no, her crew members leaving is part of what got her into this mess to begin with, the last thing we need to do is drive her deeper into resentment and anger by abandoning her. She does need to shape up, but we have to stick with her and help, not ditch her because it's too hard.
>>
>>560141
>>560146
Then do not comfort her. We pulled up with her bullshit and reminded her in several occasions to no avail.

Those two girls that left. They understood this because they did not want to be a part of her ego war with her sister
>>
>>560069
> Give Griselda a stern talking to.
But also be there to support her afterwards.
>>
>>560158
I certainly didn't vote to comfort her and don't think we should, but threatening to resign is going way too far in the other direction. She needs friends if she's going to get out of this rut, which means we need to be there for her.
>>
>>560163
We tried. But she did not do anything about it and cost us the match.

We made the other schools who helped us out of good will look bad because of a incompetent commander: if it was any other sport or fight that would have bad repercussions to the team leader.
>>
>meanwhile, Schteel wonders what kind of hell he has just unleashed.
>>
>>560141
>>560146
Its simple, we drag her through the mud now so we can avoid her weakness undermining the team in the future.
>>
>>560180
Oh please. This is nothing.
>>
>>560173
Which is why we're gearing up to tear a strip out of her hide right now, it's not like we're going to let this one go. Leaving her won't solve the problem though, if anything I strongly suspect that it would only make it worse by reminding her of last year.
>>
>>560190
Yeah, everyone's still civil, just different views and some conversation between the players about what they want to do.
>>
>>560185
Yeah? But she fails to see she fucked up. Threatening our resignation does make sense if the officer doesn't admit to be at fault, we are her co commander for god's sake.

>Yeah, compared to the Fairless incident this is actually pretty lighthearted.
What's really funny is that it wasn't a routelock and we ended up in a three-way relationship with both Kitten and Fairless.
>>
>>560193
Reminding her is a perfect example. Because she hasn't learne a thing or 'WHY' they left.

She humiliated the other schools.

Made our keyword 'OUR' NATO team look bad.

For what? Tell me why we should be nice?

Because she will break?

If she does then she can pick herself up and become better or shatter. For you to cuddle her like this shows you have no confidence in her as a leader or to gain any development
>>
>>560219
Quest ends as Elodie retires from Tankery. RIP LGA 2.
>>
>>560205
>>560215
I wouldn't call this a shitstorm just yet, so far it's actually been remarkably civil disagreement. I don't agree with the people saying we ought to threaten resignation but I can admit that they have a point and are debating in good faith, which is more than I can say for a lot of quests.
>>
>>560225

>>560243

>>
>>560103
I'm supporting this, we need to do something drastic otherwise Griselda is just going to wallow in herself forever. If she dismisses us then that's that, we are doing this not only for her sake, but for our team's too.

>>560201
>dat screencap
i cri evertim, for I too know the pain of shitty grilled cheese sandwiches that I fucked up.
>>
>>560223
>For you to cuddle her like this
Where did I say that we should coddle her? I am completely in favor of taking her to task for this and making her confront the fact that she failed the team, I just think that risking a breakdown is counterproductive if we want her to improve. We want her to be better, not wallow in self-loathing and anger.
>>
>>560244
Eli and Iris are carrying this team. They make up one Gertrude
>>
>>560236
Do you expect Griselda is in rational mind of state to realize that? No telling how she will react on this. She might straighten out, or she might just break and dismiss Elodie.

>>560244
With less charisma, i guess. But bigger tits.
>>
>>560249
It says that she knew very well this was likely to happen but allowed herself to be pressured into it by an overbearing subordinate who gets herself into everything.
>>
>>560252
We are not but we are making a point for any other crew they are entirely justified in doing so
>>
>>560257
Iris wouldn't abandon Gris, their names are too close together and Iris is too honourabru.

For what it's worth I think we shouldn't threaten to resign, we can appeal to her with more effective and less risky pleas. I think rushing headlong into a threat like that is risking the same kind of thing that happened yesterday where we tactlessly tried to rush the Athena and Tessa stuff.
>>
>>560265
And she could have said no. She knew the team needed the experience.

We were in the right, as a commander you have to deal with bullshit and you suck it up.
>>
>>560272

> Give Griselda a stern talking to.

“Griselda. Look at me.” She looks over at you, throwing her pencil onto the desk. “Griselda, Tankery is supposed to be fun. None of this is fun at all. I know you and your sister have your differences. And I know that deep down, it does hurt you that maybe you realize you can't live up to your sister's image.” You place your hand on your heart. “Now, let me apologize for suggesting this in the first place. Maybe this wasn't as great of an idea as I thought. But that doesn't mean we can let ourselves rot and die in these holes we bury for ourselves. Tomorrow, we got to apologize to Orange Pekoe and Rozaliya for letting them down, then we move onto the fair. We got to make the best of it.”

Griselda leans back in her seat, folding her arms. “You know.” You blink. “You sound exactly like Tessa, right before the semi-finals, trying to comfort me after we had another horrible day in the tournament.”

“If you think I'm going to up and leave you just because of this, you're wrong.” You step up closer to her. “It might not be fun, but I'm staying here.”

“And why stay if it's not fun then?” asks Griselda. “You're dealing with a little sister who can't look past her own sister, I'm not even a fucking great commander anyway, we're not rolling with the greatest tanks like Kursk or Zhou or Heinlein or even Gertrude's lineup!” She smashes her fist into the desk. “And I have to scrape every fucking penny just to keep our tanks running! Guess what, Ellie! That's not fucking fun at all! If anything, it's just a whole load of work, it's stress, it's hard! That's why half my crew left me, that's why nobody respects anyway! It's just too fucking hard! So why stay at all!?” she yells to you.

You place your hands on your hips. “Griselda.” She blinks, surprised at her sudden rage. She sniffles a little, apparently meaning to apologize, but you stop her. “Nothing special in life ever came out of anything easy.” She blinks again, wiping her face a bit. “The sweat, the tears, all that we put into Tankery. That is what makes it great. And it can make you great too, if you're willing to tough it out.”

Griselda sees you offer your hand to her. “... how did I get a friend like you, Ellie?” She takes it, standing up. “Alright, I see your point. If-... if you and the rest of the team are willing to give me a chance, Ellie. I won't let you down. I promise.”

You smile a little. “Alright. Are you okay?”

[1/2]
>>
>>560301
Could she have arranged it? Would she?

Regardless even if we didn't do this. This problem is a big problem with her and would have hinder the team sooner or later.
>>
>>560103
In this match she let her ego get the better of her, but the majority of the time she does listen to us, though. If anything, she's perhaps a bit TOO reliant on her officers. The main problem she has as a commander is that she doesn't seem to trust HERSELF with command since the incident last year. She's kind of half-assing it out of fear of failure, which is in turn causing failure.

Instead of exhibition matches between the sisters, what we really need to do is lock them in a room together and not let them out until they get this shit resolved.

She nods, taking a deep breath. “I'm good.” She sighs deeply. “I'm good.” She rubs a tear out of her eye. “Tomorrow, I'll apologize to the team for letting them down.”

“Great.” You look at your watch a bit, then bite your lip. “I uh... should go. It's getting late.”

“Right.” Griselda nods, pacing around her tent. As you leave however. “Wait, Ellie.” You turn around, looking to her. “Ellie. Thank you so much for sticking it out with me.” She smiles brightly. “You're the best.”

You nod. “Just lead us, we'll follow.” She nods back, giving you a thumbs up.

And with that, you leave her tent. Tomorrow's another day. And hopefully what you said will stick with Griselda.

You hope to God it does.
>>

Like 100 Wirbelwinds were made, and another 50 or so Ostwinds. That's about as rare as a Challenger, which seem relatively common. I don't think we'd have to go all the way to Japan to get one. There's also a lot of much easier solutions. Like just buying a halftrack and sticking quad .50s on it, use that if they raid us.

>>560728
We could never mutilate Oliver like that. To give a tank the wonder of being a Cruiser with a Meteor engine and then throw it back into the muck of a reasonable amount of horsepower and an AA turret. Disgusting.
>>
And I still think we should be going for British tanks. Get a Valentine, or hell, even an Excelsior
>>
>>560742
> British tanks
Hell yeah
> Valentine or Excelsior
Eh, let's not. Britain's successes during the war were mainly in the Crusader, Cromwell, Comet, Challenger and Churchills, the Matilda II was good for its time but honestly kind of obsolete compared to most of what gets fielded in Tankery. The Valentine suffers many of the flaws of the Matilda but trades armour protection for reliability and slightly more upgrade potential. But condmening anyone to actually crewing the thing is cruel. It's tiny even by British standards and working a 6 pounder or god forbid the 75mm within its turret is the stuff of nightmares.
>>
>>560739
They would be rare in senshado compared to other tanks because who in he'll would want them? Other than suppressive and anti lights there's no point to them.

On second thought, seeing as only 5 were ever produced, we'd just be better off getting other PzIV based SPAA platforms.
>>

Valentine is a unique tank(for LGA) that with a bit of experience could have a great crew behind it.

The Matilda also isn't a terrible tank per se. Just doesn't work for late war, which is what the rich schools will be running

What about an Achilles?
>>
>>560766
Personally, i rather get another Cromwell/Centaur, or even a Comet to accompany our Oliver. He deserved some Cruiser companion.

I'm an Australian and the Sentinel's a mess. It was a good effort for the first tank ever produced in the nation but it's chronically underpowered, overdesigned in odd areas and a nightmare to actually crew. The Ram's meh, Grizzlies are slightly better M4A1s, which is good.

But yeah I'm with >>560775 I want more Cromwells, a Challenger etc.
>>
>>560780
I'm kind of meh on more Cromwells unless it's a different variant entirely.

Didn't they upgrade the Setentiel overtime.

Could we upgrade Oliver to a Charioteer?

Its a post-war design, but all the stuff for it comes from during the war (20 lber, Cromwell chassis etc.)

I must be one of the only Anon's that doesn't hate the flyboys bombing runs. Its shit like that we need to do to make the insanity fun...though the ability to strike back more often could make it more fun...

Though maybe skills day can help invigorate some fire. Who knows?
>>
>>560800
I don't mind their bombing run but i want to coordinate our Anti-air machine guns.
>>
>>560797

Ah, right you are. Never mind then
>>
>>560785
They upgraded it a bit, but never beyond the scope of its core issues and it just became increasingly out of date as they did. It's armour while formidable for an early/mid war design, was poor by late war, it still had a small crew compartment with poor ergonomics and while the 17 pounder version had an enlarged turret it was still too small to operate well especially with such a large gun in it and again poorly laid out for the crew.

>>560790
The 20 pounder's post war, so no.

>>560797
Challenger's better for our purposes if you ask me, more armour, the late models have an extra inch on the front, while the Avenger has a lower profile.
>>
>>560807
what about the profile of the Seteniel, it proven its worth in the original LGA?
>>
>>560802
True. Then we can all have a laugh as we paint each other. At this point I just want Gris-Gris to see the fun again.
>>
>>560818
It's profile? I mean, it's about the same size as a Sherman I think.

I actually think the Naval Studies Merchant team only claimed 3 or 4 kills in the whole ITL tournament actually. Hardly proven considering they were with Trude since pretty early on. It's not the worst tank but it's deeply, deeply flawed and many people forget that when they see "17 pounder" next to the AC4.
>>
>>560818
For one historian, Sentinel layout is one of the worst.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUqBMC5-HPI

Mileage may vary tho.
>>
>>560837
Chieftain's kind of the worst case, as the guy's like 6'5" so most tanks are cramped for him at best, but it does illustrate the point pretty well.

I just think he missed the point of a GuP quest, with stuff like getting a Pershing out the gate, the main character being a guy, US Tankery being a 1v1 sport etc. Admittedly I didn't read all that much of it, just stumbled into a few threads back in 2013ish, thought it wasn't very good and discounted it. Unfortunately I mistakenly lumped LGA 1 in with it and missed out on participating in that quest consequently.

Here is the updated kill count, Ulanova was the star, but Ellie, Iris, Serafina and Daliat got on the board.

Congrats to Dalia on her first kill across all matches.

>>
>>561034
Dadpool was actually quite the hit with the ladies when he was in High School so he wasn't entirely surprised when Gertrude (and by extension Griselda) was a hit with the ladies too.

Also hi everybody, what's the good word.
>>
>>562201
So far so good, still wonder if we can snag a tank somewhere.

Also what is the development on finding the missing tanks and the repair coming along?

Also what upgrades did our teammates haves.
>>
>>562297
Griselda has enlisted the help of Kathy Wheeler to find the remaining tanks, which should go smoothly. As for the repairs, with money flowing in from the fairs and from the extra publicity, GrisGris will have enough money to have all the remaining tanks repaired by the end of the week in time for Hugo Gernsback.

As for upgrades:
> The Junior Historians have attached sideskirts to their Panzer III, along with adding an AA Mounted MG42 onto the cupola.

> The Poles have had the engine modified to have WAR EMERGENCY POWER along with removing any limiters or speed governors the Pershing's poor engine may have. On top of that, AA Mounted M2.

> Naval Studies Rescue have added a snorkel to their IS-2m, along with improving the suspension, a spotlamp, automated fire extinguishers, and adding a Dshka AA mount.

> The Automotive Fan Club have improved the suspension on their Hellcat, along with adding WAR EMERGENCY POWER, and removing any speed governors.

> The other crews have not yet modified their tanks, they're still figuring things out.
>>
>>562323
If Griselda managed to win, what would have been the repercussions?

Will the M36B1 Jackson or the Strv 42/m be repaired anytime sooner in case we managed to pick up a crew or two during the week?

If not how will they pick and or train in the meantime?
>>
>>562201
The word is good. I'll be looking forward to a lighter less intense session next week. Can't wait to see what skills challenges you put the teams through. Should be good fun.
>>
>>562323
Wouldn't their Panzer III become a Ausf M at this point?
>>
>>562373
1. Not unless Oleg grows four more arms and legs and can split himself in half. The Automotive Club (and Fan Club) aren't familiar enough with other tanks either to be of too meaningful help either.

2. As for picking up and training, it'll be by manuals that one can rent at the library.

>>562399
Their Panzer III still utilizes the 5cm KwK 38 L/42, which marks it as a J until the Panzer III is equipped with the later KwK 39 L/60 and/or a snorkel and some deep wading exhaust.
>>
>>562416
Isn't it possible for them to train at least in driving or loading by for example like the M36B1, borrow Griselda's tank for driving, anf firing the 90mm shell using the Poles' gun?
>>
>>562425
Perhaps, but Griselda and her crew as skeleton as it is still need to use it.

Though Griselda is trying to invest in a virtual reality tank-sim to train with. It's expensive but she thinks in the long run it'll save a lot of money.
>>
>>562441
How will that will work when each tank has their own ergonomics and control schemes?
>>
>>562458
It's not for training in any specific tank, it's for training in the very basic function of a tank (though drivers might need more attention).
>>
>>562462
Don't some of their functions slightly differs?
>>
>>562470
Again, it's not for training in specific tanks, just for training in the basic function of how a tank works and is supposed to function. The idea is that once you have a general idea of how tanks work, the learning of the basic quirks of other tanks will come much quicker.
>>
>>562462
What are the chances that Jeep Jockey would run AA for us if we get a Skink or Werbelwind?

All we'd need is a driver (Miss McPherson?) They can hang out during training and the when the boys show up its all SURPRISE MUTHAFUCKAS!
>>
>>562476
How do these VR simulation works?
>>
>>562482
You underestimate how determined Skycraft boys are when it comes to bringing down targets. AA fire is just something that's challenging to them, not something that'll directly ward them away.

Skycraft features a lot of "body" contact which means boys will ram, crash, and dive into each other just for the chance to score a kill.

In short, maybe.

>>562484
VR goggles and the hulk of a Panzer IV's interior (though the Ford Motor Company is trying to get a Sherman variant through). Up to five people running through a program which simulates basic combat exercises. VR gloves as well handle touch and the handling of simulated shells and equipment and controls.
>>
>>562514
Does it simulate the weight of the shell?

and as for Skycraft, can we finally coordinate our AA mounts to actually set up a proper defense?
>>
>>562520
Seeing as its VR, no, they haven't figured out the weight simulation part yet.

And yeah, probably.
>>
>>562525
So do we supplement it with loading and unloading their estimated shells? on our tanks?
>>
>>562525
Does Skycraft follow the same rules as Senshado with regards to limitations to vehicles used etc?
>>
>>562538
Matches are fought between teams of anywhere between 10 to 50 planes (so 50 vs 50 at max). As for the regulation of vehicles, the cutoff date for eligible vehicles is somewhere in the area of 1948.

However, being that WWII jets are very expensive, most stick to prop-driven planes. And unlike Tankery, there aren't really any regulations on WHAT kind of plane that can be used, it just has to fly. It doesn't even to be specifically armed with anything.
>>
>>562553
Werent Jets also limited by their fuel consumption or only slightly faster then high grade prop planes?
>>
>>562609
Mostly fuel consumption, but jets were in most cases blindingly fast (in fact, too fast to really adequetely dogfight with prop planes at the time, sticking mostly with the boom-and-zoom philosophy of only flying in straight lines).

At least, that's how I remember it. I'd need to do some reviewing.
>>
>>562613
What prevents on flight crashers?
>>
>>562638
Nothing. Armored compartments and good old carbon coating usually solve everything.
>>
>>562646
and in air collusions?

What about if they land in the ocean
>>
>>562666
Armored compartments and good old carbon coating.

Though pilots are expected to bail out and parachute to safety (whereupon the traditional buzzing of the unhorsed occurs.)

As for ocean landings, most teams keep a team of mechanics on stand by with boats ready to assist.
>>
>>562323
Are the sideskirts on the Panzer III on the sides of the hull or is it a full Schurzen kit (sides and rear of turret as well)?
>>
>>562679
Full Schurzen
>>
>>562675
Has there been cases of Paracutes being cut by prop planes or shot by accident during a dogfight?
>>
>>562684
Nope. Skycraft may be a very brutal sport but there are limits. As for shot by accidents, the ammunition works similarly to NATO rounds where the ammunition is designed to disintegrate if it detects something it shouldn't be hitting in its path (for example, people).
>>
>>562696
How can it tell? I mean early planes and parachutes used similar material?

So wouldn't NATO rounds disintergrate due to thinking it may be hitting something it isn't supposed to?
>>
>>562707
I said similar, not exactly.
>>
>>562712
So speciality made Parachutes and safety gear?
>>
>>562399
>>562416
It also needs the 20mm Standoff Plates on the Front Hull and Turret that got added in the Ausf. L version, unless GS wants to count those as part of the Schurzen kit.
>>
>>562717
Basically, yes.

>>562724
I might count those as part of applique armor kits or whatever.
>>
>>562609
God help the one who decides to pilot the Komet. The sheer amount of horror stories relating to it.

Things like combuston on launch due to poorly sealed fuel tanks, combustion on landing due to there being no real way of slowing down, causing fuel tank to get damaged; or one pilot suffocating from fumes.
>>
>>562726
Well, they've currently got a Light Applique Kit, should I add it to them to its current armour profile? It's 20mm of spaced armour on the Upper Plate and Mantlet/Turret Front.
>>
>>562736
Yeah, go ahead.

I'm so lazy today, I swear, I shouldn't be making decisions like these but whatever.
>>
>>562740
Happens to the best of us, we can always undo stuff if you change your mind anyway.
>>
Okiedoke, pastebin's updated with the new upgrades and armour values where necessary, same link as in the OP. I have not made changes to top speeds for stuff like WEP or Removed Governors because I really have no idea how much effect they'd have on these particular tanks. The GAF used in the Pershing was limited to 25-600rpm for a hp of 500-525 but if you unlimited it it could rev to 3600 at the max (which seems like a great way to violently disassemble your engine). Crews did do this, but perhaps understandably none of them bothered to note exactly how much faster it went or how much horsepower the higher rpm generated.

Thanks, I'm actually enjoying maintaining this pastebin for whatever reason. It's also made me do reading about tanks I otherwise wouldn't be that interested in, like the Pershing, JT and SU-100. It's pretty great, blends the book's and films' very different takes quite well, and has a bit of fun cheesy stuff while also being kind of grim behind that veneer. Nah, the LT's a bit too broken, or maybe not broken enough for that I think. I get what you mean, but the higher stakes and grimmer setting mean that CGDCT is more like a refreshing palette cleanser/keeps things from getting too depressing. Especially as at least so far its kind of taken a backseat to the LT's efforts as production staff.
>>
>>563558

>>
>>563284
On the topic of your older quests, one thing I've noticed after going back and reading old ones is that they tended to have more of a 'soundtrack' than we see in LGA 2. LGA 1 particularly really thrived on its folk/bluegrass tunes and stuff like that crazy dream with the muses playing Will the Circle Be Unbroken was excellent. Is there any reason particular reason this has become less of a part of your quests? Will we see (or rather, hear) more music in the quest now that we have the not!Keions crew?
>>
>>563997
Honestly, it's mostly because I've just gotten a bit lazier. I do write my Quests to a soundtrack, but I just don't really share it.

As for diagetic music, I've been meaning to try and insert more into LGA2, and by extension Starship Idols. Haven't found good places for them yet though.
