Looking for a journey through a strange land filled with monster girls and magic? Well, you came to the right place! This quest has an emphasis on world building, character-driven narrative, social interactions and combat.

Averagely I post from 6pm to ~10pm PST on weekdays and weekends are determined by my schedule.

Last time you once again confronted Ryuga and spent some time in her palace. You spent some time with your new sister Taka and learned that she was actually spying for The No-Named Man from the Accursed Lands. She was terrified of his wrath, but you promised to make sure she was safe. After confronting Shiromitsu about his questionable child spy program you learned that the human sorceress working for Kakuri has escalated the warfare. None of the other lords looked like they wanted to work together and fearing just what Kakuri and the sorceress were capable of you decided to leave the island. Adrian refused to leave the island and his girlfriend Raiko behind and ran off before you all left. When you got back to the mainland you went to see the witch Yaga about your troubling shadow curse that has been plaguing you. On your way there though you were held hostage in a dream along with Taka. In the dream, you resulting in using the Sun Orb in anger and completely destroyed the dream realm. When you woke up though you found out that your attack also backfired and killed Taka. You came to the witch with her body and Yaga told you that the girl's spirit may be trapped in your subconscious. With her help, you induced a sleep that sent you back to the dreamland where you are searching for your lost sister. While there you ran into the curse or shadow creature that has tormented you and are currently confronting her. The last thing the shadow asked was, "Who are you afraid of?"
>>

"I am truly afraid of Loss. To lose everyone I care about. I lost my parents and my home. I lost years of my life thanks to a curse. I am afraid of losing my mind, and now I lost my little sister.

You answer the creatures answer earnestly, but make sure to try and trip her up. She grins at your answer, “That answer would have sufficed but now I don’t think so.” “But that is the truth.” “Then last time you were horribly and idiotically contradictory. If you are so afraid of loss then why use an object that not only destroys yourself but others, ESPECIALLY when your “precious” little sister was in the blast zone?” “I-I was blinded by anger…” “No, I don’t think so.” The creature turns into a mass of shadow with red eyes that circles you. “You are truly willing to do anything despite what you think. “That isn’t true!” You shake away from the shadow. “Isn’t it? You left the foolish boy on the island, knowing he will likely die, for someone who fears loss and paranoid as you then you would have ensured his safety yourself. The only explination is that you didn’t care enough about him.” “What?! I had a powerful woman know about him and she would take care of him.” “Yes, but you know the dangers he faces regardless, that island is such a mess I wouldn’t expect anyone of them to live by the end of it. Ohh, that reminds me of your other “sister” that will die.” “She won’t.” “But you don’t truly know that, and that is enough for your personality to assume she is dead.” The shadow stands infront of you and slowly begins to form another person. This time, it was you. “You ran away afraid of what will come, when you are really willing to sacrifice what you have to in order to survive. They weren’t close enough to you to be important. Just people you use and throw away when it is inconvenient. Your a coward who hides behind pretty words. I have been with you long enough to know this” “Shut up! That is not how I am at all!” The sun orb was starting to radiate hotter in your hands. “That’s it! Throw away everything for yourself!”
>>
>>568285

You literally catch yourself with your arm and hold back the one wielding the Sun Orb. You try to calm yourself, getting angry won’t solve anything and she is doing this on purpose. You take a moment to breathe and then face a confused creature. “Awww, just when things were getting good. If you blew everything up this time I had no idea what would have happened. Though you might have just killed yourself which would have been unfortunate for you.” “Now you are just being annoying.” You needed to switch up the subject. She was trying to taunt you into doing something rash and you doubt she would give up info on where Taka was the way she is now. We’ll try to throw her off her game.

Let me tell you something, you are wrong. He is not your father, but you master. All his servants are mere slaves to him that he rules with fear and dark magic. And you are no different. In fact, if he wins and gets me as his new pet, what do you think will happen to you? You will be no longer needed and you will be discarded. You are in my head so you know I am saying the truth."

*cchhkk* “Like you know him, he made me so I think I would know a thing or two about my own father. He is generally hard on his followers but he treats a select few well.” “How do you know you are one of those select few?” you prod. “Because I was made special.” she asserts. “Special for this torment? Then like I just said that once your job is over he will care less about you. He might even kill you since you have no further use.” “Hahaha, are you concerned about me?” “Are you too busy worrying about others that you spend more time worrying about your attackers than yourself? Damn that’s rich.” she cackles to herself, “I think I am starting to really get why father is so interested in you.”

“Yes, but have you not considered the possibilities. Without me where do you go?” She was trying to change the subject back to you but you need to keep her talking about herself. “Hmph!” she crosses her arms, “I would go where he wished me to go, to torment another and bend more to him,” “And what if he tells you to die?” You feel a constriction on your neck as the shadow envelops you. Its red eyes pierce yours. Now look who is the one that is angry? “Your words mean nothing to me!” She shouts. But you can feel a wavering in her grip.

Here eyes were burning into you, but you keep cool and choke your way through a sentence,” “Wouldn't you. Like to be alive… for real?” The construction loosens. The shadow asks, “What are you saying?” She may have loosened her grip but her tone told you she was seething. “I am saying that maybe you can live independently from the magic you father created you with. Like, have a body outside my head. I know someone who might be able to do that.” You were at least pretty sure the Yaga could do it, somehow, how though you had no earthly idea. “So you want me to get my own body, but why? Why does that do anything for me when my sole purpose is to push you toward father and test you?!” “Well, I suppose you can do that from the outside as well. I prefer to be face to face with my assailants anyways, and talking with things in my head can be, unpleasant.” “I wasn’t intended on being pleasant.” “But I feel you can be. I mean why else would you chose to bring me back home instead of a nightmare realm like last time?”

“Hphm! It was a simple change of pace and it was supposed to mess with you, but noooooooo, you were too busy trying to find your furry sister.” “Well, I appreciated it regardless?” “Are you an idiot? I have tried to kill you multiple times, stole your sister, haunted you for the past month and a half.” “Yes, but even you are someone. You followed your father because he willed it, but I think you can become more than that.” “You’re telling me to betray father and go along with your plan?” “I’m telling you to live independent of him and become your own person.” “Human, you really don’t make any sense.” The shadow is holding her head in confusion. You are clearly trying to manipulate me into going along and helping you, but part of me doesn’t mind. But why?” she places both her hands on her head, “Father told me too. But is this actually going against him… I… I... “ She seems distraught, you reach your hand out to her, “I want you to see for yourself, maybe you’ll find the answers as your own person.” “I.. I… I… aaaaahhhhhhhhhh!” she screams in some matter of frustration. Her shadows and dark mist swell and distort. She seems to morph from your image to Taka’s to Yuki’s and the rest of your friends and any combination of them. Each time they were yelling in anguish. Oh no, “Are you okay?!” you yell to try and calm her. You don’t know if she was the one freaking out or you caused her to suffer a backlash from her master. The amalgamation of forms roared for minutes, but over time the screaming stopped and the shadow shrunk to a preteen girl. She didn’t look any older than the rest of your friends from back home, but this time, she was her own distinct person. At least that is what she looked like. She seemed to have incorporated the appearances of all of your friends into one. She had Victoria’s hair, Aki’s eyes, Yuki’s clothes, Taka’s ears and a mixture of yours and Anna’s face. The girl hung her head low, “Can I really go outside?” “Yes, I’ll work to make that a reality, no matter what.” you once again offer her your hand. She looks at her own hands. One of which was a normal human arm and the other was one of Aki’s claws. “Alright,” the girl said as she grabbed onto your hand, “I want to find out more, and we’ll see just how this goes.”

“Wonderful!” you clap your hands around hers. “But before we go, can you take me to Taka, I can only help you if you help me get her back.” The shadow sighs, “Yeah, but you might have a hard time of talking to her right now.” “Why is that?” “I may have… encouraged a line of thinking for her to have.” “What did you do?!” “It’s better if you see.” The next instant your surroundings changed to something close to a prison cell. It was damp, dirty and bust being there gave you chills. In the cell you see your little sister in rags, shaking.” “Onee-chan… Onee-chan…” she weakly muttered, over and over again. You wanted to run and grab your little sister as fast as you could but she kept muttering to herself, “Why did you throw me away Onee-chan… what did I do… I said I was sorry…” Taka begins to shake faster and faster, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I won’t do it again… please don’t throw me away…”

“You did this?” you clenched your fist at your new acquaintance, “Honestly she was a bit broken up after what happened, but I did push her further with her like I did you earlier. I was much more successful with her, but now I regret it." She bows her head to you. "I’m sorry, but you will have to talk to her now. Only her Onee-chan would be capable of fixing that.”

What are we going to say to Taka to snap her out of this?

"Taka...let's go home, together." You walk to Taka and extend your hand to her. "There are still many dresses Yuki has not made you try yet. And certain Imp girl misses her friend. Also, we have to get Adrian back and go to see our demon sister, and I just don't want to do that without you."
>>

"This is Kagehana, is complicated but she will travel with us from now on." You then stare at the "shadow flower" as if warning her to not contradict you.

You walk over to your little sister who is shivering. She hears the klanging of the steel bars as you open them and tenses up. She braced as if she was going to be hit, “No please, No..” . “Taka…” You reach your hand out to her. “Onee-chan?” the kitsune raises her head to meet your hand. “Onee-chan!” she springs and jumps into your arms, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I won’t be useless from now on so please don’t get rid of me. I’ll… I’ll” the small girl started to shake again, but this time in your arms. “Shhhh,”You bring your arms around for a hug and you place your hand softly on her head. You whisper, “It’s okay now Taka, I would never ever get rid of you and I should be sorry not you. I caused this situation, but don’t worry I will fix it.” “Onee-chan..” “Let’s go home together Taka, the are still many dressess Yuki has for you. Serena missess her friend and we’ll have to get Adrian back and see our sister Shirabu again. I don’t want to do any of that without you” You pet her head lovingly. The kitsune's shaking eased up and slowly she just nuzzled into your chest enjoying your embrace. She likely wanted this to last for hours, but you had to get back to the real world, and now you have someone new.

“Taka?” the kitsune raises her head to meet your voice. You point to the shadow, “This is Kagehana, it’s… complicated but she will be with us from now on.” You give the shadow a pained look that implored her not to contradict your claims, “Y-Yeah…” The shadow waves her hand and tries to smile. “Alright…” Taka says as she closes her eyes halfway, “Onee-chan, I am tired…” “No doubt you are, but don’t worry when we wake up we’ll be back with everyone okay?” She nods, “Yeah,” before she curls to fall asleep in your arms. “Kagehana” hovers over to you two. “She will be okay right?” you ask. “Yeah, I just trapped her here once you blew everything up. She should be able to go back to her body now that I am letting go. “Good,”

The shadow seems a bit confused, “Um… so what is a Kagehana?” “Oh, you are.” “I am a what?!” “No, no I mean you are Kagehana, from back home it means “Shadow Flower.” It’s a name I came up for you. I figured you didn’t have one.” “I-I didn’t but whatever.” she turns away from you. “If you would be so kind Kagehana, I need to head back and figure out how to get you out of here.” “Alright, but know human, that what I have done is given you back what you wanted and given up an oppritunity to capture you for father. If you are lying to me, or try to kill me instead, I will torment you every minute of the day and night.”
>>
>>569587

“R-Right, don’t worry I’ll figure something out.” You didn’t exactly want to end this nice scene with a threat but from where Kagehana is coming from she has an excuse. This could be a life or death situation for her and hampering her father's plans would not be in her current best interest for not suffering his wraith. You start to feel rather sleepy and you lay down with Taka, as the shadow floats above you, “I will be watching human…” was the last thing you remember as you drift off.

You wake up surrounded by your friends and Yaga. “She’s up!” Aki yelled as she hugged you. “Is Taka alright?” was the first you you could think about and say. Aki nodded. “She started breathing a few hours ago and Yuki has been tending to her ever since. You rolled your head to see Yuki diligently checking Taka’s breathing and heart beat. “Thank godness” An old witch walked into the room, “Yes but I am afriad she will not be awake for quite some time. Having the spirit ripped and then put back into the body is a jarring experience to say the least. For all intensive purposes she died and It will take at least a day or two for her to open her eyes. And another day to be able to move at all. You’ll probably want to rest here for the time being. You didn’t feel up to moving to much yourself so maybe a day or two should be fine."
>>
>>569591

“Alright, but Yaga can I ask you a question?” “Hoho, I already helped you save your young friend and now you want more out of me?” She chuckles “The young people these days!” “Sorry, but would you mind at least listening?” “Hoho, go on child” “Is it possible to give a curse physical form?” “Ahh, this must be the curse you were talking about. Is it threatening to come out and assault you after you bested it?” “No actually…” man when you think about it, if that was the expectation then the real explanation was embarrassing in comparison. “No, I uh… told her I would let her out.” “YOU WHAT?!” your friends yelled. Anna was flabbergasted, “You told a curse that you would let her take physical shape instead of trying to get rid of her?!” Nessera added, “Not only that but she wants to help the thing responsible for KILLING Taka!” “Listen everyone!” you silenced the rampant outrage, “She is a victim of the Master in the north, and I want to show her a world that is not bound to him. I think she can be a great ally given the chance.” “Or she will strangle you in your sleep.” Rozalin jabs. “She could have many times before now at least…”

During all of this Yaga was scratching her chin, “Giving a spell creation that has personality physical shape… yeah it could be done, but it is complicated, you would need the proper rituals and items. You could probably place her into an item, like a sword or pendant. Though maybe you want to give her their own form like a person. Doing so would require powerful alchemy or an empty body. If she is a shadow curse of some kind we can bind her to your shadow. That way she would always be with you, but she will be tied to you." "Is it possible to have her released in the form she is already in, "That is tricky, she was a curse which binds to something. Without anything to bind to its hard for her to exist at all, but having her come out as she is would require A lot of mana and several days or prep work." The witch smiles, "I can do this but you have to run an errand for me, but don’t worry this one is in the plains down south, nowhere near the accursed lands.”

“Okay Yaga first of all here is the sun Orb as I promised.” You go to set the orb down for good but you feel a burning sensation in your hand and you stop. “Is there something wrong child.” “No.. it’s just…” Last time you were able to place the orb in front of you no problem so why does it not want to leave your hands now? You grimace at the small object that thinks it can tell who what to and to not leave behind.

You gaze into the object and feel an intensity flaring within you. It doesn’t want to be set down, and wouldn’t it be safer with you anyways? Your arm instinctively tries to pocket the cursed orb but you catch it with your other hand. “You do not get a say in this!” the orb tries to retreat into your pocket but you are pulling with all your strength to keep it out. “Oh my god…” Anna says as she and the rest of your friends look on stunned. You pull with all your might and you bite your nails down into the clinging hand. It releases the orb and it falls to the ground next to your bed. “Haa, haaa,” you breathe heavily as sweat begins to form on your face. “Get it… away from me.” Yaga uses this as her chance to snatch the orb. “Thank you young one.” “No… problem.”

You take a minute to breathe and once again relax. Now, with that settled, “Secondly,” You started pointing your fingers up to reference your points, “For now you can bind the curse to my shadow. It isn’t a perfect situation but at least she will be able to come outside.” “Alright then,” “Thirdly, I will do your errand once Taka recovers, which I think you can agree with.” The witch nods. “And finally!” You froze after those words, your friends looked on and waited for the rest of your sentence but instead you fall backwards, holding the exact same position of your arms as you were. As you fell you felt your eyes closing. “It has been a long day, hasn’t it? No one should mind if I just take a break. With that thought, you drifted off into the darkness.

In the darkness, you hear a voice calling to you. “Ugghhh, not again” She hasn’t tried talking to you in a long time, and you were enjoying the quiet. “Fine ignore me! But that just means…” Suddenly the darkness was a lava that was closing in on you. The curse floated overhead. “Ohh, Kagehana, sorry I thought you were another that talks to me here.” “You are afflicted with another curse?” “She can sure act like it sometimes. But I assume you wanted to know about our arrangements. Is being in my shadow alright with you? At least for now?” “For now yes, but if I like my taste of the outside I will be asking for more.” As you would expect her too. “Wonderful, then I’ll have Yaga make the preparations in the morning.” The shadow flower nods and vapors away. The volcanic chamber turned back once again to a solid black. Having time now you were for sure going to do the binding ritual tomorrow but what else could you do in your spare time while you wait for Taka to recover.

You awaken much like when you fell asleep in a bed next to your friends. Well at the moment it was only one friend, Yuki who was asleep in a chair next to you. “Honestly,” you happily sigh, “She goes on and on about me working myself to death and then does the same exact thing. Oh well, I guess that just makes us alike in another way. You didn’t want to wake her up since she was tending to likely both you and Taka all day. Instead, you slowly get up and say, “Thanks, Yuki,” as you give her a kiss on the cheek. Next, you walk over to check on Taka who you could see breathing. You hold her hand for a moment, “Thank you… Thank you so much for coming back.” But like Yuki she also needed her rest and you should get to doing something while you wait for Yaga to get you for the ritual. Doing some conditioning wouldn’t hurt. Yaga was nowhere in the hut when you went to the exit though you could hear outside, “Damn it you stupid birds get the hell back here!” Once you were outside you saw Victoria chasing a bunch of chickens around. So she is going to use us like last time huh? Well, she is doing quite a bit for you, it's only fair that you are of some help while you are mooching off her property. Aki was grooming the hens and Anna seemed to have drawn the short stick and is cleaning the coup. “Ahhhhhh!” you hear a yell from the hen house. No, she understands what Adrian was put through. “Are you alright?” Aki asked you noticing your ability to stand. “Yeah I just needed a minute, but now I want to get my mind off things with a little training.” You did some limbering stretches and prepared yourself for a bit of conditioning. Push ups sit ups, runs, the whole nine yards. You feel like you are getting somewhere but ultimately your recent experience has left you a bit drained. You put in good work though and you feel yourself gaining more endurance.

You were sitting down resting when you hear an old woman say, “Ahh good you are awake.” The old witch then gazes at the surrounding mess of girls trying to handle her rambunctious flock. “Hoho, it's always nice to have a few extra hands around here. Yaga came back with another armful of ingredients. Salts, potions herbs and even some feathers. “It is good you are awake so we may begin the ritual of binding.” “Very well.” Yaga sets down her equipment and starts mortar and pestling some of the herbs in between her placements of odd feathers. “Ahh, yes I wanted to ask you young one.” “?” The witch explains in an objective tone, “The binding ritual we are going to perform it will bring this curst to the world as your shadow but we can bind more than just her location.”“What exactly are you saying?” “We can bind the spirit to your will if you want. She has tried to kill you, “killed” your little sister and works for the man hunting you. I will do whatever you decide but I figure I should let you know. “

“Hmmm?” you take a minute or two the ponder. Yaga was right, she has done quite some harm to both you and your group, but at the same time was it fair to do that to Kagehana?

“Bind her to my will Yaga, completely, I don’t want her to have anything.” Thinking about it, it would probably be safer to bind her to your will, just to make sure she doesn’t try anything. “Taking the cautious road I see. Very well then.” Yaga spends the next 30 minutes preparing for the rites as the sun turns from a bright yellow to orange. You are a little concerned about how long this will take with night fast approaching. But after making a circle out of herbs and feathers Yaga announces, “Done. Now child, if you would just sit in here” She guides you to the circle.” Now all you have to do is focus on the spirit of the course and imagine bending it to your will, you will become its ruler and it shall live in your shadow. Do this while I cast the spell.” the witch explains while lighting some incense. “Alright.” She begins to mutter some incantations in what you assume is ancient tongue as your friends look on. You close your eyes and focus on Kagehana and imagine yourself making her yours.”

You feel a strong kick back as if someone is punching you in the back of the head. “You bitch!” Kagehana yelled at you, “We agreed to bind in the shadow but you didn’t say you would bind me to your will while also losing my own sense of self?!” “I’m sorry, but you tried to kill me and you hurt Taka, I couldn’t let you go like that.” “Hide behind your worthless reasonings! I can understand binding myself to ensure I do not harm you again, but to destroy a person sense of self and reduce them to a puppet?!” “I was right about you, you manipulative conniving bitch!” You feel a choking well up in your body as tendrils seem to grab ahold of you. This, of course, was all in your head, there was no way your friends could see you struggling for life.” “Now this! Kagehana started, “You hide behind pretty words and strike when people are off guard, you control others even if you have convinced yourself you haven’t. What’s worse is that even I believed you, but now… DAMNIT!” “I hope you fail and I get to watch everything you cared about crumble. I hope father tears you limb from limb!” Her yelling seemed unending and her rage unwavering but after a while, she grew from angry to depressed as she knows what was about to happen. Yet she kept on trying to scream, “I hope… I hope… damnit…” the shadow holds herself, “And I really liked having a name…”

You felt a severe whiplash in your mind as the ritual seemed to be ending. It started to feel as if someone was forcefully extracting something from your brain and it was unbearable. It was over in moments, but they felt like excruciating hours. “Ahhh!” you yelped as you grasp your head. “With that, it is done.” “You mean she is bound?” “She should be, she is a part of you now so calling her should work.” “Huh. Kagehana!” you call for you shadow and what appeared to you in your shadow was the small preteen chimera of your friends. “Yes master?” she said in a monotone.” Her tone was offputing, “Umm, I just wanted to see if you were there, sorry.” “Very well.” She recedes back into the darkness.” “My how depressing..” Rozalin comments, Shadow demons tend to have more spunk to them, but this one seems ever so boring. Oh well, as long as she is not a bother I suppose it is alright.”
>>
>>573577

Alright, was the apt word here, "Yeah, but that is enough of-” you tried to stand but you stumbled and fell to the ground. “You shouldn’t move too much young lady.” Yaga said, “That ritual is taxing and you already worked yourself today. It would be best to rest for the rest of the day.” “A-Alright.” Aki helped you to your feet, “Are you sure you are okay?” she asked, “Y-Yeah, perfect.” “If you say so...” She helped walk you back to your room where Yuki and Taka were still sleeping. Seeing Yuki slouched over in a chair did manage to bring a giggle to yourself, but you didn’t have much more in you than that. You laid back down in bed and thought for a moment.

Resting still meant you could spend some time chatting, though.

You guess now might be a decent time to check in officially with your new “friend.” “Kagehana.” “Yes Master?” the monotone shadow spoke as she rose from your shade. “Ummm, well…” This was harder than you expected, having a servant like this never happened before and her almost hollow eyes and expression were just as off-putting. “So, how do you like it now that you aren’t trapped in my head.” “Am I supposed to like it?” She asks. “Um, yeah you said you wanted to come out,” “Then it is lovely, thank you for asking Master.” Well, that didn’t equate to anything. It looks like her entire personality (if one exists) is based on how she perceives you want her to be. But could that mean you could reverse this? Or maybe you can shape her into the way you want her to be? You’re aren’t sure but maybe it could be worth a shot.

"Yaga!" you call for the witch. "What is it child! you are interrupting super!" "Sorry, but I had a question about the binding." "Yes?" "Since I bound her to my will can I will her a personality or even restore her old one?" "Theoretically yes, but molding a new personality may take time and restoring her old one would be more involved. With you breaking her will you locked away her old self, and borderline destroyed it. Finding it would require another heart to heart between you and her." So it was possible. You turn your attention back to Kagehana who notices your interest, "Master, is there something you want me to do?"

or something like that...someone rephrase it
>>
>>573867
Actually our reasoning is that we have calmed down and we didn't realise binding her this way wpuld basically turn Kazehana into a robot. We just didn't want her to keep hurting us and the people we care about. And we were so angry by her almost killing Taka that we hust let our anger guide us.

As you look at Kagehana you feel yourself growing sad. You gave her a name and promised her a place in the world and despite doing that you tore all meaning it had for her away just moments before got to truly live. Kagehana, please induce a sleep that will allow me to communicate with you like before and… I’m sorry.” “Very well Master.” Your servant spread her shadow over you and our consciousness immediately slipped away. You open your eyes in the familiar blackness with enough light to make out your shadow. “Why did you wish to come here, master?” “Because I wanted to talk to you, not the current you, but the old one?” Very well, but because of this only happening recently she is rather upset.” “I know” she has a right to be.

The scene changes to that damp and cold prison cell where you found Taka, but this time, it was Kagehana chained up to a wall with no hope of ever escaping. She had been crying, her bonds did not allow her to move your arms enough to wipe away the tears but the residue it left on her face was evident.” You felt, awkward to say the least, you just locked her away and now want to apologize and release her. It was what she originally wished but after you did that to her you didn’t know how she might act. Your current emotionless servant just looked on. “Kagehana, are you there?” you lightley asked. She looks up, glares and snarls, “YOU!” she tried to move her arms but your mental chains proved too strong. “What are you doing here?! Come to gloat by bringing your better slave and showing her off?! Do you get kicks out of watching me suffer you twisted hypocrite?” Her anger was justified but her insults were starting to escalate. Still, you tried your best to keep cool. You kneel down to their level and hang your head, “Kagehana, I am truly sorry.” “WHAT?!” Now you are sorry? Now? It took you a full 30 minutes to understand what you did?” “Y-Yes.” “So what is your excuse huh?! How do you justify ripping a person out of their body?” she shook in anger. “I-I was scared.” “Oh?” “I was scared you may hurt the people I care most about, and I wanted to prevent that at all cost.” “Yeah, well I was the cost.’ “I know, and again I am sincerely sorry. I got angry when I thought about what you did to Taka and I and my angere guided me in that moment.” but, “You hold your hand out to the former shadow, “I want to prove that I am more than what you think I am, I am more than anger and paranoia. I may question myself from time to time, but I know there is more to me, and you were the one to seriously think that way.” The chains around her body began to dissolve away and the shadow on her knees looked up to your offered hand.

“I have one condition.” This was a bit unexpected, but it making a request at a time like this made more sense the more time you spent thinking about it. I want you to promise to never break me again. Ever! And at some point, I want to meet Father no matter what."

"Kagehana, if even my best friend and my little sister have got hurt because of me, what makes you think I can honestly promise that? It would just be a lie and I prefer to be honest when possible. At most, I can promise to try to not hurt you again and yes I promise that. And about Father... She mulls over what you said, "I can understand your hesitation but try not to get rid of me again okay?" The least you could do was try, right? "Okay," you answered earnestly. "Now about Father... I can't think of him as anyone but that, I mean I told you before but the man that created you is called your father right?" "Well yes but the problem here isn't that." The shadow looks like she is raising an eyebrow, "Then what is the problem?" You tried to explain as best you could, "Well the fact that you call him that implies a loyalty so to say. When I hear you call the man that has been responsible for so many awful things involving my friends it makes me concerned." "Oh so you are worried about loyalty, but you have the master command. I have to go along with whatever you say despite the fact that I am myself. If I did do anything to put you in danger you have the means of stopping me. Though I hope to never give you an excuse to do such a thing." The shadow pauses for a second as she phrases her next sentence in her head, "Fater is my father and after my failings, I currently have no direct connections to him. I could call him my creator but father sounds... better for some reason." She bows slightly, "My loyalties lie with you "master" but it seems I will have to prove it to you over time." Does seem like she will give up that phrase, but we'll see where she lies in terms of loyalty. "

"Alright then, with that squared away then, we are done. Again, I am deeply sorry for locking you up like this, and I hope we can make it up to each other. " Realizing that this sentence meant her freedom from here she grew fairly cheery as she plainly said, "Sounds good to me!" she smiled. You sighed of relief, thank god this got sorted out, now all we need to do is wait for Taka. Speaking of which you get an odd feeling that Taka might wake up tomorrow. It's odd but something inside you is telling you that she will. Now that you are thinking about it what should you do tomorrow?

When you open your eyes the next day once again Yuki was seated next to you. This time, she was awake, “You’re awake!” she said enthusiastically, “Yes” “I have to tell everyone, you have been out for almost two days!” She jumps out of her seat and out the room. You tried to stop her but was too fast. Looks like no one told her you got up yesterday. “Oh well,” you sigh as you get up from your bed. “Kagehana are you there?” “Finally!” the shadow shouts as she stretches out from your shadow. “So this is the outside huh? Gotta says I am a bit disappointed, but maybe its cause we are in this tiny room.” “I’m sure you will like it outdoors then, but I mainly called to see how you were and if you were yourself again.” The shadow showed a semi-smug face, “Tired of me already “master?” “Oh heavens no!” You backpedal, “I just wanted to make sure you were alright.” “Haha, well, for now, yeah, but I won’t make a habit of staying out with you if its fine by you.” “That is your choice.” “That’s only partially true,” she jeers before she melds back into your projected darkness.

You walk over to Taka and you remember that the last thing you remember from your talk with the shadow last night was that for some reason you felt like Taka was going to get up today. The little kitsune snoozed away peacefully, it's incredible to think that just a few days ago she was dead. You grab Taka’s hand again but this instead of a warm hand you felt a shivering in her body. She was close to shaking. “Taka?” you shouted in concern but you were answered by the sound of the small girl gasping for air. “Taka?!” you shouted again as you see the kitsune's eyes flare open and her body almost instinctively sits up. “!” The kitsune takes heavy and rapid breaths as if she was trying to suck all the air out of the room. After coming to her senses she looks at you, “Onee-chan?” You didn’t need any other sign to know she was okay and you hugged her with all your strength, while a tear was falling from your eye. “Taka, I am so glad you are okay!” You hugged her with the intention of never letting go but Taka just woke up from being dead so you take it easy on her. “Onee-chan were am I?” She was disoriented, but she also didn’t know about Yaga besides maybe her name. “We are in an old witch’s home, but don’t worry she helped me get you back and she is nice to us.” “And I would like to be thanked, I dare say, hoho” The witch surprised you as you heard her hobble into the room. “I heard you're shouting and it seems the young one has awakened.” “You’re the one that helped me?” The kitsune weakly said, “Thank you.” “You can thank me child by laying down." She points with her walking stick at the bed, "Your spirit is again in its body but it will take at least another day before you are able to be mobile.” Taka follows the witch’s instructions, “Count yourself, lucky child, your sister was able to bring you to me when you were mostly dead and could be saved. As you can imagine there is a rather large difference between being mostly dead and ‘all-dead’ hoho.” The witch laughs as she leaves the room. You didn't really understand her joke, but you guess her little joke was a way of lightening the situation. Though she could tell that you wanted some time alone with your little sister. With her incapacitated like this, what exactly were you going to do?
>>
>>576464

You think for a moment but you got it. You take out your vial of water and open the lid. “Onee-chan, doing magic practice at a time like this?” “Don’t worry Taka, just because we messed up a bit last time doesn’t mean you can’t get it this time. And besides, it helps me relax which is something your body desperately needs to do after that event.” The kitsune sighs, but she doesn’t exactly have anything else to do at the moment and she could talk with you while you practice. “So since we don’t want you moving we will just be using a small bit of water that you will manipulate with your mana channeling. Just focus again on the flow of the water and swish it back and forth in your mind.” You demonstrate with the same small amount of water without moving your hands. Water magic was infinitely more accessible with hand movements which acted as mana channelers but this is what you had to work with.

Taka focuses on the small water in front of her.

Taka focuses on the small drops of water and they slowly move around, “Great Taka, just take it slow, deep breaths if you need to.” She followed your instructions and soon the small bit of water was dancing in the air in front of her. Wow, that is some improvement from last time. Not to mention this confirms that she can still channel mana seems alright doing so. “Onee-chan, what happened?” your sister asked while manipulating the water around you. “Well after you went to sleep we came here as soon as we could and helped you. Thankfully it worked out and you are safe. Since then we have spent a bit of time here recovering, but Yaga wants us to go down south into the plains for an errand, as thanks for helping us. Oh, and Kagehana is with us now.” “Who?” “That’s me!” the shadow flower threw her arms over your shoulder and hung from your back. Taka recoiled in shock, “H-Her!” “It’s complicated Taka, but for now she has agreed to help us annnnnnndddddd…” you nudge the shadow. “Oh right… Taka, I am deeply sorry for what I did to both you and Onee-chan. I know that you may not accept my apology now, but I will work to earn it.” “Onee-chan?” you questioned, “Well she called you that the whole time and given the situation I think it fits. Plus there is some amount of kinship to us already. I literally can’t leave you and Taka and I used to work for the same boss. Taka can understand when I saw that that man, Father, is a special connection in himself.” Taka lowered her head in silent agreement with Kagehana’s words. “For now, though, I’ll just be here when you want me.” Kagehana casually salutes you off with two fingers and melds back into your shadow. Looks like your collection of little sisters continues to grow. You put her hand on Taka’s shoulders to let her know that things will be alright and you get her to smile lightly to your constant presence.

You heard what sounded like a bit of a ruckus going on outside. Along with a healthy dose of yelling. But that was probably your friends doing their chores Yaga tasked them with. From what you can tell, Taka looks like she’ll be alright if you stepped out for a bit.

It probably wasn’t anything important, and Victoria yells at those chickens constantly. No you think you will stay and spend some more time with Taka, who is quite happy to hear that. You spend some time talking while you waited for your friends to get done with their chores. When they were they returned to the hut looking defeated. Victoria looked especially defeated and when she came in to say hi she waved at you and Taka and then landed face first into your bed. It’s the thought that counts right? Yuki tried to be more energetic, “Taka its so good that you are awake, are you hurt anywhere?” “No, I think I am fine,” “Good let me know if anything comes up, but for now if you excuse me. She smiled before joining Victoria’s face burial into bed sheets. “Umm… what happened?” you asked Anna. She sighed, “The usual, and we also dodged a bullet” “How so?” “Well we saw Melo come flying over on her own.” We hid in the chicken coup because we agreed that being stuffed with the chickens was better than whatever she was going to do. She looked like she was looking for someone, probably us but after flying around for almost an hour trying to decide where she was going she left in a hurry. Once she left there was… a lot of cleaning to do.” That is certainly a bullet dodged.

Aki spoke next, “But it is nice to see you up Taka, we’re glad to have you back with us.” “Glad to be back.” “Taka!” an energetic imp cried as she jumped onto the kitsune, “uuufff.” It looked like that hurt but Taka put on a smile for Serena regardless. “I’m glad she is alright,” “Yeah., wait.” to your surprise it was Nessera who made the comment. She notices your shock, “Is there something wrong?” “But you’re so indifferent.” “Hmph!” She twists her body away from you with her head in the air. “I’m not saying anything bad in fact I am glad you are commenting.” “Well... thanks then” the demon blushes and turns away further.” Seems everyone has settled in and with Taka awake you could al relax, but you don’t know how much longer you will be able to stay here. Or if something might make you leave.

You were mulling over some things when Yaga walks in to interrupt your gathering. “Thank you, everyone, for your hard work these past few days and I am glad to see the little one is up. But I need to talk with you about my errand.” Ah yes, the one down south. “What I wish you to do is meet with the centaur chieftain Rakun. From what I hear there are territorial disputes thanks to the new chieftans appearing out of nowhere. This to me warrants investigation and perhaps solving but there was one other thing I wanted to talk to you about personally.” “ Just me?” The witch nods seriously. And beckons you over outside your room.
>>
>>577321

You two walk across the dining room into another room that looked like the with's personal study. “Young one there is something you must know.” her tone was different, opposed to the usual somewhat jolly witch she was dreadfully serious, “Y-Yes?” “I talked with you friends who told me about what you learned from the sun temple on the island.” I did some referencing with my own books here.” She takes a minute to open, clean, adjust and put on her glasses. “I think I know where the night or may be. But you will not like it.” She pauses but you wait for the witch to continue. “Here this book discusses the land of perpetual darkness and shadow. An ancient land to the far north which is said to have been burned black by the god of shadow himself. This, of course, an ancient text but it says that there is an ancient temple of shadow that is said to be perpetual. If there is anyplace that orb may be, it would be there. If not it would be the best place to start following a trail. But this is far north past the accursed lands which you have made explicitly clear that you do not wish to venture through ever again.” The witch grimaces, “As you can expect young one, these orbs are of great concern to me with my vision of calamity, I want someone to venture and ensure their safety from nefarious lots but since you are unwilling then. She extends her arm staff in hand. I will let you borrow one of my staves. They are powerful magical channellers and act as great alchemical tools. Their power is limited but they will surely help you if you decide to venture in the north.”

This was potentially a game changer. The Night Orb concerns you just as much as the Sun Orb did, but you didn’t want to go anywhere near that place again. Yaga already gave you a task that should satisfy her down south which no doubt would be easier, though. But with the staff maybe you could do more than just what she asked you to do. But you doubt she would give it to you unless you planned to venture into the accursed lands once more.

You contemplate all the different angles you could go about this. You must have came up with at least five or six different plans but all of them ended the same way, with a dead end. “Yaga, I appreciate the info but as it stands right now, I would just die or potentially worse. Do not get me wrong I know your staff would greatly help us but I don’t feel we are powerful enough yet to go there. If my worse case fears a true then the Master of the accursed lands has the orb already, and that would make traveling moot. But if he doesn’t he will surely be looking for it. If I am in his own territory fighting him for an object I need to know that I can face him properly and win. Right now, I am not confident.” “So you wish to become stronger than.” “Well, that has been what this journey has been about since the beginning.” But you still don’t know what it will culminate in, Mother said she wanted you to get stronger all that time ago to fix the problems in the Mortal Plane, but there seems to be far more problems here. This Master seems to be a clear focal point of danger, and is more than likely going to be your toughest opponent, walking back into his territory unprepared is paramount to suicide. “The witch closed her eyes, “I see your point point young one.” She opens her eyes, “Then you will head to the centaurs then.” “Yes, but I would again like to ask to stay until Taka is able to gain her bearings.” “hoho,” the witch laughed, “I already planned tomorrow's regiment of chores, so you need not worry.” “Haha, good then.”

The witch wished to remain in her study, but you wandered out and back to your room to find everyone passed out. “I only went to talk to her for maybe 15 minutes?” “Hehe, but it seems everyone has had a hard day.” Giggled Taka. She was the only person standing as everyone somehow found room and places to sleep across the whole room. Aki was taking up a whole couch but the rest of her body fell to the ground. Nessera, Serena, and Rozalin were leaning against walls and snoozing while Anna, Victoria, and Yuki crammed into your bed. The other person who looked somewhat comfortable was Taka who had a bed all to herself. “I guess, but it is time for sleep I suppose, you should get some too.” You find a nice spot next to Aki to learn yourself when Taka says, “Umm Onee-chan aren’t we going to… like usual.” at first you were slightly confused but once Taka made eye motions from you to her bed it clicked. Oooooooh, duh. “Sorry Taka, I just got done thinking a bit too hard,” you say as you walk over. The kitsune scoots over for you to fit comfortably on the bed and once you lie down she puts an arm on you. She looks up at you and smiles, “So you won’t go anywhere.” You place your hand on hers “Don’t worry, I won’t.”
>>
>>578205

You drift into a nominal sleep and you wake up to most of your friends rolling and stretching their necks. You’re pretty sure Yaga would have made them some beds but maybe they were waiting for you to get back and just couldn’t make it. When you properly get up you ask you, sister, “How do you feel today?” “A lot better, I can move pretty freely and…” she scoots to the edge of the bed and hops off onto her feet. She stumbles at first but after getting a footing she walks around like it was nothing. “Yeah I say I am good.” Wonderful with Taka up and running you guys could leave tonight but of course Yaga always wants help around the hut.

Taka seems okay but another day could not hurt, plus you think you should spend time with your girlfriends. You’ve been so preoccupied with Taka that you started to drift a bit away. Though Aki does try when she can to glomp onto you. Which you started to not mind, but still spending some proper time with the two would be a good idea. “We’ll stay for one more day to make sure we are all set to go.” A heavy sigh was relinquished from your friends, “Alright…” as they got up to start their chores. When they got up and started to file out you grabbed Aki and Yuki’s hands. “Not you two, I got plans for today.” Aki smiled seductively, “Ohhhhh?” “Not that.” You pinch her cheek to get her to calm down, at least for now. “We're going for a walk,” you take their hands and lead them outside the hut.

You three walked and in hand to a small local patch of woods that had a lovely summer tinge to in on this bright day. You announced playfully whoever finds the prettiest flower wins!” Yuki claps her hands in response, “Oh how fun! But what do we win.” “Umm, well..”

What should the winner get?

You panicked, "Um... Whoever wins gets dibs on me for the rest of the day!" There was a silence for a brief moment. Yuki looked confused but Aki had a fire in her eyes. Unfortunately for you, Yuki noticed and produced an equal blaze and stared down the basilisk. You ould see the lightning sparks linking their gazes. "Uhh, guys?" you tried to get their attention but at nearly the speed of light, they turn away from each other and dart into the woods. They were on a mission and nothing would stop them. You should join them in a hunt but you stopped and thought, "Wait a minute if I win what do I get?" You shake your head and brush it off. We'll deal with that if it comes up, for now, you should try to find something nice.

You didn’t have the fire Aki or Yuki had but you did manage to snag a… sunflower? You figure it was pretty to some, but it was a bit stalky for your tastes, but it was better than the endless dandelions you were running into. After a hard fought battle lasting nearly half an hour, you three meet back up at the center of the woods. “Alright everyone present your entries in three, two, one!” you all shove our prizes in front of you. You figured your sunflower as done for but you saw that Aki held a dandelion and was many shades of red because of this. Yuki on the other hand toted a peacock flower like you found a few days ago, not only that but it was more vibrant than the one you found. Its colors flared in all the right ways. The blends in color and stalk were truly breathtaking.” It was clear to all that Yuki was the winner. You kneeled in respect while Aki flopped onto the grass. “Why couldn’t I find anything else?!” she cried as she shook around her dandelion. “It can’t be helped Aki, my sense of style carried me this day.” Yuki flipped her hair to tote herself in a moment of pride. Aki was pretty broken up about it and you lay down next to her and make sure she is alright. She was pouting but you being next her seemed to make her feel better. Yuki took the opportunity lay next to you on your opposite side.

Now after that fun little competition Yuki and Aki were at your sides while you three lay on the soft grass. “I just wanted to say thanks you two. This past week has been only stressful and I know I haven’t been paying enough attention to you. I’m sorry for that, but know that I cherish and love both of you always.” “We know, well at least I do,” Yuki begins, “You worry me too much you know, you say you’ll take it easy and then immediately throw yourself in harm's way and almost die. Not to mention what happened to Taka…” “Yeah, but I noticed you overwork yourself caring for us both.” You adopt a satirical vocal tone, “sounds pretty hypocritical to me.” “Oh shut up!” she pauses and then grabs your arm, “I can’t help but be concerned you know.” “I am the same way,” Aki latches onto your arm. “You worry me sometimes, but I am glad to see you haven’t changed after all this and care so much about us.” “Yes and now you have us fighting over you for fun” Yuki lightly grasps your face to turn it toward her. “What were the conditions of that game again?” Yuki smirked at Aki, You took the question seriously, “Umm, whoever got the prettiest flower got-” Yuki’s face and lips buried themselves into yours without warning.
>>
>>578686

She was taking charge of the situation and the sensual feeling of her soft lips against yours started to make yourself become more entranced with your best friend turned girlfriend. Yuki wrapped one of her arms around your head and the other searched up and down your torso to tease your body. It was working and you were starting to feel more and more aroused. This was jarring, though, Yuki always had the strength to take charge if she wanted to but her personality was not designed that way. It was then that you noticed her brief eye exchange at Aki while she was working you. It made sense now, “I guess this is what I get for inciting a catfight," you thought. Aki was already fidgeting and making small cute moans as she looked on at the scene literally right next to her. She was the loser and was relegated to watching and it absolutely tore her up. She was panting, her arms were reaching down towards where her abdomen means the beginning of her long tail. Yuki saw her struggle and then started to work on getting your clothes off. You tried to resist but it felt too good, your body betrayed you as you started to moan and you even helped Yuki take off your shirt.” “Hmm, that bra does suit you but need to breathe now and then, “As she said that her cold hands slipped under your sports bra and you felt her hands starting to fondle your breasts gently. Aki was replicating the scene as soon her top-wear was off and she began to grope her own supple body. “Please..." She panted, “Please….” “Ohh?” Yuki pulled back for a moment, “The rules were clear, I have dibs.” “I… know but.. Please…” Yuki was putting on a strong smug front but she didn’t have it in her torture someone like this. “Alright…” Yuki agreed and Aki sprang onto you all forming a pile that rolled itself around in the soft warm grass. You felt each blade brush against your body which sent a tingling down your body that only further amplified the hot tingling feeling that was welling up inside of you. Yuki claimed your mouth while Aki was sucking on your neck. There was an intricate lock set up on your body as Yuki held your front and Aki your back. Both their bodies were pressing against you as you felt their arms start to reach lower and lower on your torso. It was clear that you weren’t going anywhere for quite some time.

Everything about that small isolated section of woods was quiet, save for three girls indulging in their desires. Moans were heard by the small animals nearby and no doubt all your movements and tossing left a few “blemishes” on nearby flower patches. But despite the noise radiating from you all you didn’t want to stop. After a while, you simply stopped caring if people were able to hear you three. You felt yourself grow less aware of your surroundings save for the two girls you were with. And before you knew it your mind went blank with pleasure.
>>
>>578699

When you gained your senses it was nearly sunset and you three were naked and sharing each other's body heat. You then felt a blissful feeling, no matter what crazy and dangerous things happened to you, the fact you could spend time with the people you love like this meant that things couldn’t all be bad.

You had to get up and head back to the hut for the night but in this nice moment, you think about tomorrow. “We have to go down south to plain centaurs, huh, maybe Rozalin could… Nah, that would just cause a lot of headaches. Centaurs are traditionally warrior tribes so maybe Victoria and you could… something.” You shake your head and then relax. Either way tomorrow you set off from Yaga’s hut and you'll decide when the time comes just what to do. for now, though, you'll enjoy this warm feeling with the women you love.

To be continued

Be back tomorrow at 6pm PST like usual

For now, people can discuss ideas about the centaur situation. There are new chieftains springing up all over the place in the south that are causing territorial disputes. You can assume your contact, Chieftain Rakun, is old given that Yaga knows him by name.

You can go to Rakun first or maybe check out all the new chiefs popping up.

Or you could do something completely different, but Yaga may not be happy.

After another half an hour you find it in yourself to actually get up with your girlfriends. Aki characteristically didn’t want to get up but with yours and Yuki’s combined strength you managed to drag her back to the hut. You were honestly too tired to deal with much of anything and like your friends yesterday you walked into your room and immediately flopped into bed with Taka. Taka looked a little concerned, “Onee-chan are you okay, your clothes are all messed up. Did you get into a fight?!” You sigh, “Sure, let's go with that.” A fight that you desperately lost. You closed your eyes to leave today behind but when you did you heard a voice, “That was quite the display, tell me do you do this often slayer?” “Not now Kagehana.” “But now is the perfect time?!” I saw everything but I couldn’t feel it, you simply must tell me.” She looks almost giddy, but after a minute she attempted to regain her composure and coughs. “For uh… reasons.” “Fine...” you describe your feelings as you remember them while your shadow diligently listened as if she was taking notes. It was a little odd that she was so interested in this, but you’ll ask her later because right now it was sleep time.

You woke up to find that most of your friends had already vacated the room. You were planning on heading out so they probably are getting ready to say goodbye once again to this hen house. You just hope Victoria tries to burn it down for revenge. You stretch and ask your sister as you two get up and yawn. “Feeling good again today?” “Great actually, make” she said energetically. That’s good. You walk outside your room to find your friends packing up and Yaga trying to convince Anna to take care of the chickens. To which she staunchly refused to Yaga’s amusement. You walk up to the old witch, “Thank you for everything Yaga, we’ll get that situation in the plains figured out if we can.” “I hope you can young one, I think they will have a part to play in that premonition of mine…” the witch pauses and gains a contemplative look, “But..” she breaks out of the look, “That is likely still a ways off, for now work hard enough to repay me why done you? Hoho” Your company makes for the exit and you follow suit with Taka in hand. At the threshold, you stop and look at your little sister and then turn back to Yaga one last time.“All we can do is try, but truly, thank you for all your help.” The old witch smiles and waves you off as you turn and once again begin your journey.

We’re going to be in the area might as well see how she is doing.” “I think that would be lovely” Aki agreed. It would be a nice change of pace at least. Almost everywhere you go there are problems that you feel like you mess up somehow every time you try to help. The scorpion fold villages was one of your few major success stories and seeing Sei again could be fun.

As you made your way down south you noticed there was some activity in the Felwood forest. Looked like some Arachne were darting quickly with some of the Dark elves. They didn’t see you but something about their movements was a little. Odd. you can’t quite pin it but you don’t remember the Arachne getting along with the dark elves.

She was on even foot with the alpha as they danced back and forth. You wanted to give her some backup but there was still ten wolves remaining.

Some of those remaining wolves managed to latch onto Yuki and Victoria. Victoria had three on her but she usually liked to fight multiple opponents. Yuki, however, was more of a ranged fighter and needed back up. However, the remaining wolves were doing there best to make sure one of you was occupied with one of them at all times. “Kagehana go help Taka take out the big guy, I’ll deal with this one.” “Aye aye sir!” your shadow says as it twists and elongates to unnatural lengths. It bobs and weaves its way to Taka where it casts itself on top of the wolf, “Yo”. “Taka was focused on her opponent but she still yelled in surprise, “What are you doing here?” “Helping, time for some fun Mr. Wolfy.” the shadow grinned as it looked like it was digging its fingers into the wolf’s skull. Naturally, the wolf tried to toss her off but it was too late. Soon the furious wolf calmed down to an unnatural degree. “And now…” The wolf began to convulse in hysteria. It yelped and leptin all directions. “Now Taka!” Kagehana yelled as Taka grabbed the memo as she reversed her standard blade grip and sliced the alphas neck open with a clean cut. The shadow mused, “Poor guy didn’t have a chance.” She twirls her fingers on top of the now dead wolf’s head as the battle continued to take place.

As for the rest of you, your battle was increasingly in your favor. You wanted to end it as soon as you could so you called upon your water magic. With it you grabbed the wolf running toward you with a tendril made of water and tossed him across the battlefield. Your friends kept up the pressure and more of the wolves were falling. You were pretty sure at some point you saw Victoria pick up one of the wolves and used it to beat another one. Brutal.

As you continued your fight you see many of the wolves begin to break off and run for the hills. You already took out more than half of them and their leader resulting in a crippled morale. Even the one that attacked Yuki had better ideas and scampered off. You as you saw more and more of the wolves dart away you slowly breathe and kneel to relax. Victoria had other ideas and yelled “Cowards!” as she threw the wolf she was using as a club at the fleeing remainder of the pack. She even managed to beam one in the head. Brutal.

“Thanks, Kagehana,” Taka said as she put her blade away. “No problem, I’ll be sure to back you up when I can.” The shadow winks before she dissipates into a black mist as your shadow returns to its normal shape. “ It was a simple encounter but it was a nice little warm up to keep you in tip-top shape for battle. You started to make your way near the dessert and you were almost upon the “Waves of Red Ash.” However, you notice a massive herd or troop of centaurs marching in the area. And worse they spotted you. In fact, you managed to make eye contact with one of them. A small group of 10 from the many hundreds trot over to your location. Victoria readied into a combat stance but there was absolutely no way you all could take on hundreds of soldiers. You raise your arm to signal Victoria to back down and she does as the riders come closer.

A clearly armed female centaur leads the group sent over to you, “Trespassers,” she starts “You are intruding on the land of Chieftan Varaemon, what have you to say for your negligence?” She raises a spear at you.

You can’t afford to be intimidated by the size of their forces. “There is an old witch Yaga who sent us to talk with an old friend of hers, Chieftain Rakun. We believe he is likely tired by now but surely you don’t want to anger a wise and powerful witch by impeding us?” You risked a lot talking like that but it seems you managed to get through to her. “Former Great Chieftain Rakun has been exiled for years, and he is an eyesore to our chieftain Varaemon. If you wish to meet him you must travel to his home of exile in the desert. We will not stop you this day but if you return after talking with Rakun spouting nonsense then you will be forcefully turned away. “Thank you.” With that, the centaurs turn around and leave back to their forces. “Why on earth would they need an army that large what are they fighting?” Rozalin answers , “Perhaps it is a show of force rather than an active campaign.” Forces that size and that organized are built for intimidation.” But who are they intimidating? Maybe Rakun has the answers.

Both are in the desert and if Rakun is exiled then he is actually outside centaur territory, so let's visit the scorpions for information first.
>>
>>583184

You thought about just going to see Rakun since he was nearby, but If Rakun was exiled then his home would be outside territory so it might be better just to get info from the scorpion folk first. You continue your trek into the Waves or Red ash and as you walk through the nostalgic desert you remember that this was the place where you first met Aki. She was dreadfully embarrassed back then over what happened but now that you opened the floodgates a week ago she has lost most traces of that embarrassment. It's still fun to think about how cute she was when you first made her come with you as an apology for assaulting you. But man, who knew you two would end up like this from that one exchange. Aki caught you staring at her while you were thinking this. “Something on your mind.” “Yeah, you.” She blushed, “W-Well, alright then” She slithered over to your side where you took each other's hands as you approached the hole where you remember the village to be.

“Why is sand everywhere?!” Taka said in frustration as she frantically brushed her hair, tail, and ears. The wind would simply replace it moments later but her effort was commendable. “It is getting everywhere I don’t want it!” “It's alright, soon we will be underground where the sand much more bearable." “I hope so,” she continues to try and pluck individual grains out of her hair. You all begin to hop down the hole It was dark as the sun was quickly going down. You try to make as much ground as you could but the darkening tunnels were making it hard to see just where you were going. You could get lost in the tunnel system of this kept up, but at the same time, you don’t know if camping was a good idea in dark underground tunnels like this.

You were concerned about pressing on but then it occurred to you that your shadow could see in the dark perfectly. “Kagehana do you mind helping me for a bit?” “That depends on what do you need?” “For you to look where we are going while I direct you.” “Awww, so boring…” she hands her shoulders as your gang press on thanks to her. You give her guiding directions now and then but you also whisper her to strike up a small conversation. “So what do you think about Taka, I noticed you trying to help her out today to get along,” “Well.. yeah, I mean I feel bad about what I did and want her to be able to trust me now.” “Aww, that’s so sweet of you.” “S-Shut up!” she lightly hits you in the chest. You feel a smirk coming on as you feel like you should tease her some more. “So, do you think Taka’s cute?” She seems confused, “What are you asking?” “Oh, you know” you chide, “do you think she is cute in an attractive sort of way.” You could swear you saw the shadow grow a slight tint of pink.” “Well… kinda, she is a cute little girl, plus she has the fluff going for her, but hey, what’s the point of you asking me this?” Another smirk came onto your face, “Nothing, just curious.” Your walk continued and you let Kagehana get comfortable again before you strike one more time. You reach your arms out and with unparalleled dexterity, you tickle the shadows sides. In all honesty, she was a shadow and you had no idea if this would even work but she can do it to others, right? So who says it doesn’t work in reverse. “Ahh!’ she yelps before covering her mouth which started to make a chuckle. “That, hehe, surprised me” she tried to speak in between giggling but it was hard for her. “Do you, hehe, even want to, ha, get to the village?” You answer with sarcasm, “I mean eventually.” “Geez.” the shadow tries to pout but your hands force her to keep a smile on her face.

Besides your little muses, your trip was an uneventful one and you reached the home of the scorpion folk after maybe another hour. It was dreadfully late at this point and it didn’t look like anyone but the night watch was in the city. Speaking of night watch, “Who goes there?” the soldier asked as your group comes into their vision. “We are travelers and friends of Queen Sei, I humbly ask to enter the city and speak with her.” “Ohh, they are the ones who helped queen Sei! Please come in.” One of the guards was a non-girtablilu who recognized you from months ago and quickly beckoned you inside the city walls. “Thank you,” you say to the kind guard that let you in, “Is it possible to see Sei?” “At the moment no it is far too late, but maybe she would let you into the palace given your history. Her palace guards can be quite stubborn about visitors, though, especially at night.

>Try to crash at Sei’s place
We are best friends of the Queen. Let us atleast try this first. If this fails we got find an Inn.

You figure it was worth a shot to get to Sei. you take the risk and approach the grand spire at the center of town and find two more night watch guards, but lucky for you one of them is a non-girtibalilu who recognizes you again. “Hello we are trying to meet with Sei?” “Of course! But I am afraid you will have to wait until the morning. She is asleep you see.” “Could we then spend the evening in the palace, we are her best friends after all.”

“Well….”

“Well…..” the guard thinks, “Alright, you are a trustworthy persona after all. Just please be quiet.” “Sweet.” You enter the palace for the second time and try to remember where the guest room with all those comfy beds are at. With Kagehana’s help, you found it easily through the shadows and were able to crash on much comfier beds than the inn boasted. Not to mention these ones were free.

When you wake up in the morning you find Sei to be at your door. “I did not know I would have visitors at such late hours and the maids were terrified when they heard the guards let you in, but boy am I glad it was you all!” She looked to be quite stoic for a young lady but when she sees you she starts to act her age once more. “You guys are back!” She may have been dressed in royal garb meant for addressing audiences, but that didn’t stop her from running over and jumping on you. You pat her head, “Hey Sei, It looks like you have done pretty well for yourself over the past couple months.” “Thanks, but look at you all, you look older and more mature while your retinue seems to have doubled!” “Ahh yeah, speaking of which. Everyone this is Sei, Queen of the Scorpionfolk.” She makes a regal bow as your unknowing friends returned one. “Have you all come back for a visit? I can have a feast set up if you want.” Taka’s mouth opens wide in anticipation for this massive feast, but you immediately slam it shut by refusing, “No, no Sei. thanks but we were really wondering if you could help us with something.” “Sure!” she said energetically, “Whatever you need.” “What we need right now are answers concerning the local centaurs.” I don’t know if you have contacted them recently but we came here to meet with a chieftan Rakun and were told there was an issue of too many chieftans being present and it is causing issues.” “Hmmmm.” Sei places her finger on her chin, “We have had talkings with some of the centaur people, but its almost like a new representative of a clan pops up every week. The only stable one is Varaemon who we hear from every week on our trade deals.” “Do you know at all why?” “According to the emissary sent there is a struggle for power happening due to Varaemon being an outsider that became chieftan 3 years ago. The other clans hate him and retaliate constantly.” “Huh…” That helped but maybe there was more you could ask of her.

>Ask more questions (what)
>Thanks, Sei, but I need to talk to Rakun now

So this is going to be the last post from me for a bit. Tomorrow starts a hectic week for me and I won’t have a stable schedule worked out again until maybe next Friday. I will keep people updated on here and on twitter with maybe an occasional post if I ever get the time. Sorry for the inconvenience and I hope to get back to writing as soon as I can.

> Outsider you say? Then how come he has any power at all?
> Look at your pervert bicorn. "Say... how good do you think you could seduce a centaur or centauress for information?"
> Use the ninja Imps to spy.
> Ask Sei if she knows what's going on with the harpies and spiders.

Do you know why the clans hate Varaemon. Other than being an outsider?
Do you know where Varaemon came from?
What do you know of the Chieftain Rakun?
Also do you know where he currently resides?
Do you know what happened to the previous Chieftain?
Are there any other semi-stable ones or is it just havoc with Varaemon being the only stable one?
If their are others what can you tell me about them?
Do you know where Varaemon is located?
What else do you know about Varaemon?
How did Varaemon come to power?
How violent has this power struggle been?
Are their any other big players in this power struggle besides the Chieftans?
What can you tell me about Centaur Culture? Like if they have a religious leader. Any sort of challenges people can declare, like with what we did here. How new chieftains are decided. Stuff like than.
How have dealings been with the various centaur chieftain?
What are your personal opinions of Varaemon and any other semi-stable or powerful Chieftains?

Questions questions so many questions. Might have more. I have a week.

You open up your mouth and unleash a flurry of questions which would even run a blizzard for its money. At first Sei listened intently but as your list of questions got longer and longer she went from smiling to a blank stare while her eyes widened. You were continuing your list when you notice Sei’s new expression. “Um is everything okay?” You poke her just to make sure. You can feel her nearly tilt when you do so but her expression doesn’t change. After a second though light comes back to her eyes and she shakes her head rapidly, “Whoa whoa whoa!” she shakes her arms in a similar fashion, “I’m sorry, but don’t know the answer to most of those questions. You have to understand, I just got back into the swing of things after almost 100 years of isolation we don’t know much in the realm of geopolitics besides what the emissaries tell us.” Sei rubs the back of her neck nervously. “What I do know is that Varaemon is apparently young and cruel. At least according to the other clans. I can only assume that the powerstuggle is either incredibly violent and incredibly one sided. Varaemon is the only constant so that implies that the others are constantly being stomped out. At least I would think that, I don’t know for sure. I have never met him and my opinons on the man would be… bias to what the others have told me. In my opinion though if he was a capable leader he would have been able to calm the other clans in the three years he has ruled.” Besides that I don’t know much... ohh but I do think I know where Rakun is!” She perks up. “There is a hut on the southern borders of our lands near the coast. They say that an old man lives there alone and tends to his books in peace. If Rakun is exiled then there would be his likely place of residence.” You were a little disappointed she couldn’t answer all of your questions but now you knew where the one who could lived. You’ll have to head there soon. But first… “Hey Sei..” you start, “Would it be okay to hang out here for a bit? I would hate to leave before catching up and if we could use your library that would be fantastic.” If Sei didn’t exactly know about the centaurs then you knew one foolish ancient explorer surely did. Sei smiled, “Of course! You are always welcome here. The library we are reconstructing but you should be able to enter and find what you are looking for. Also, I can’t promise a construction zone would be suitably quiet for a library.” “I think we’ll manage.”

You take a moment to think over where you should exactly go from here, but something else occurs to you. Aki used to live around here, maybe we can take the time to go visit her place in the desert waves and reconnect her with the children she used to babysit. Could be a nice fun date for the two of you actually.

Firstly though we should,

>Talk with Sei
>Go to the library and find more out about the centaurs
>Date with Aki
>On second thought we should just head to Rakun now that we know where he is
>Write in

>>609191
Let us go on a Date with Aki for the first part of the day and tell everyone else to have some fun in the town. Though we should tell them to meet up later at the library so the whole group can get some research done. After some research we should end the day talking to Sei. She did say there could be a feast.
>>
>>609215
Ah and complete forgot. Tomorrow we should head out for Rakun. Meeting with old friends is fun but we can have more time with that after this quest is done.

Sorry for the double post completely slipped my mind.
